Nestled along the stunning Adriatic coast, the Old Town of Herceg Novi is a captivating medieval fortress that invites visitors to explore its rich history and charming architecture. With narrow stone streets winding through the town, you'll discover picturesque plazas adorned with centuries-old churches. The iconic Clock Tower, dating back to the 17th century, stands proudly at the heart of this historic area alongside Kanli Kula Fortress, which not only offers breathtaking views but also serves as a cultural hub for summer events.
An impressive old town... very cute and small in size...with a church at the middle and small lanes with cafe/restaurants and stores.... there are few stores that are very old in this street...
Rafeeque A — Google review
It’s a very cute a small city center, the little church in the middle of the main square is a picturesque view. Maps are scattered all around and help you navigate, very nice touch. The only thing I did not like was the state in which the fortresses are kept, I would have expected more since they’re candidates to enter the UNESCO sites list. The parking is really difficult, since the only way to pay is through SMS, very difficult with an eSIM that only has internet (App was not working).
Greta&Ludo — Google review
Visited this town a couple of times. A coastal historic town with a beautiful small church up hillside. Spanish Fort further up plus another Fort near to coast. A walkway goes under a clock tower leading to nice plaza area. Good restaurants and bars within this town. If walk out of town going pass coastal Fort after 1 km arrive at another church set in peaceful grounds.
Steve D — Google review
Vibe is truly impressive, it feels like a little Italy. Surrounding, architecture are great. There are several pizzerias in front of the Clock Tower and if you walk down narrow street behind the square you will be passing by clothes shops and a mini market Voli

Very quaint place. There are a couple of places to drink and eat in the main square. There's also a very small church in the square. I recommend Belavista. Less than €4 for a pint of Czech beer.
Nigel H — Google review
The Old Town of Herceg Novi is a hidden gem on the Montenegrin coast, offering a perfect blend of history, charm, and stunning sea views. Nestled on a hillside, the town is a maze of narrow stone streets, centuries-old buildings, and charming squares that tell the story of various civilizations—Ottoman, Venetian, Austro-Hungarian—all of which left their mark on the architecture and atmosphere. The main square, Belavista, is the heart of the old town and features the beautiful St. Michael’s Church with its unique blend of styles. Climbing the Kanli Kula fortress rewards you with panoramic views over the Bay of Kotor, especially magical during sunset. The Clock Tower, built by the Turks in the 17th century, stands as one of the town’s most iconic landmarks and serves as a gateway to this historic core. What sets Herceg Novi apart is its authentic, less-touristy feel compared to nearby cities like Kotor or Budva. Local cafes, family-run restaurants, and art galleries add life without overcrowding. The stone stairways connecting the town to the coastline create a unique vertical experience. This is a place where history, tranquility, and coastal beauty meet. For travelers seeking culture with a view, Herceg Novi’s Old Town delivers.
Ammar A — Google review
Charming old city square, it is very small and that gives it special taste. In tourist periods must be crowded and may be even difficult to move around because of that.
Wielkopolanin — Google review
Definetly worth visiting 🥰 Less crowded than other tourist attractions in Kotor bay

The Bay of Kotor, often likened to a fjord, is a stunning natural wonder surrounded by rugged cliffs and charming towns. The historic town of Kotor, nestled within the bay, boasts well-preserved Baroque architecture and holds UNESCO World Heritage status. Perast, strategically positioned at the bay's entrance, was once a vital maritime center and is home to the Church of Our Lady of the Rocks on an artificial island.
One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen!!!! You have to visit and just drive round and enjoy the scenery!
Vanessa M — Google review
Went on a solo trip and booked an excursion to see the island in its entirety. Stopped at Bay of Kotor, and this place is beautiful. This is a must do as tourists from cruise ships and normal holiday makers swamped this stunning Bay. Restaurants and souvenir shops were abundant, and it was nice to pass the time in this amazing place.
Debakins2 — Google review
Great place, stunning views. A must go if in Montenegro. Loads of boat tours to choose from! Visited the Church Our Lady of the Rocks, the Blue Cave, and the Ex-submarine base.
Benjamin M — Google review
It doesn't really surprise me that the Bay of Kotor is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Although very touristy, the bay is definitely worth a visit. The towns and villages around the bay, especially Herceg Novi, Tivat, Perast and Kotor, have many beautiful sights to offer, and of course a boat trip across the bay should not be missing from the to-do list. The views of the bay and the surrounding mountains are especially beautiful from the water. In short, the Bay of Kotor has a lot to offer the visitor!
Koen — Google review
Absolutely stunning! 👍 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 The most beautiful coastal area in the whole world! There is no place that could be compared to it! Magical, welcoming, beautiful, amazing ~ and one and only: Boka-Kotor Bay & beautiful towns just on its coast! My happy place under the Sun and stars! I am here at home. ❤️❤️❤️

This bay is awesome. We had a speedboat cruise and it was great. The view of the bay from the mountains is amazing. You have to see the bay from different places.
Hubert — Google review
The site belongs to the UNESCO list and one can right away see why. Very close to Dubrovnik, it offers stunning views and is a bit less over touristic, though still very touristic. Views from up the hill are worse the quite demanding hike... or you can take a car or bike up the serpentine.
Pascal M — Google review
For ones who miss the sun, the sea and the majestic mountains... a super city of freshness... both natural and historical buildings, definitely worth a visit

Ferry Harbour

Ferry service
Ferry Harbour in Kotor Bay offers a delightful and efficient way to traverse the stunning waters of this picturesque region. For just 5 euros per car, you can skip the lengthy drive around the bay and enjoy a quick 10-minute crossing instead. The ferries operate frequently throughout the day, ensuring minimal wait times for travelers eager to soak in breathtaking views of crystal-clear waters framed by majestic mountains.
Awesome yet no frills ferry to cross the bay. No fee for pedestrians or bikes. Takes less than 10 minutes to cross and it runs frequently; three of them I believe. At least one of the ferries has seating on an upper deck that’s covered. Love this service! @Erowid_Spark on YouTube
Gilbert S — Google review
Great and fast was to cross kotors bay, only 5€ ticket for car. It took maybe 10-15min to go from one side to other. Nice views and in my case I have been waiting maybe 1-2 min to start sail.
Wielkopolanin — Google review
It makes sense to use this ferry instead of going around the entire bay on narrow roads. You can cross to the other shore in a very short time. All in all, it is a short and enjoyable journey on the sea.
Alper U — Google review
Easy and cheap. 5 euros for a car. 10 minutes to cross. Good way to save some time if you have already drove into Kotor and don’t need all of the scenic route on the way back to Croatia.
Dany G — Google review
The ferry in Kotor Bay is a convenient and pleasant way to cross the bay. For just 5 euros per car, regardless of the number of passengers, it saves a lot of time compared to driving all the way around. The crossing takes only about 10 minutes. The ride offers beautiful views of the clear waters and surrounding mountains, making the trip an experience in itself. The ferries are punctual and have good capacity for both passengers and vehicles. The staff onboard are helpful and friendly. Overall, a great service with stunning nature — highly recommended for both tourists and locals.
Aso J — Google review
Ferries run really frequently during the day and there is almost no waiting time. Ticket needs to be purchased in a ticket office prior to embarkment. Personal car 5€, persons without charge. Embarkment itself can be wild, as the traffic in MNE in general :-) Voyage takes ca 10 minutes. Definitely recommended instead of driving around the bay.
Vojtěch O — Google review
Excellent little shortcut so you don't do a long détour. Also a very reasonable price, 5€ per car.
Noel B — Google review
*Accurate information as of September 2025* Very good ferry, price is €5 per car. They are quick and efficient, had no issues using it. Just follow directions from the workers and it'll be smooth. ● To get your ticket you will have to get out of your car and walk to the kiosk. After that, get back in your car and wait until they signal to drive onto ferry. When you're driving onto the ferry, give your ticket to the worker and proceed to where they direct you. *Ferry is 24/7. Reduced amount of ferries in service at night*

Porto Montenegro is one of the most beautiful places in all of Montenegro. It’s perfect for a relaxing walk, whether you’re with family, kids, or a loved one. The area is full of great restaurants, cafes, and bars — there’s something for everyone. The atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed, with stunning views of the marina and mountains. A wonderful place to spend the day or evening — highly recommended!

Beautiful modern port with shops, cafes, restaurants and grocery market. The entire port is easily accessible by walking, with multiple small venues to check out, good coffee and a range of restaurants. The port also has top luxury stores throughout its area. Check it out if you’re around the area.

Porto Montenegro is the ultimate luxury marina experience in Tivat—world-class berths, stylish shops, gourmet dining, and cultural attractions set along a stunning waterfront. Ideal for yachting enthusiasts or anyone seeking a high-end seaside escape. A true Adriatic gem!
Violina P — Google review
It's an OK place, very modern with lots of boats. Some expensive restaurants and shops. Not really any history or culture, just a place to play for rich people. There are much nicer places to visit in Montenegro and in the Kotor area.
Tim H — Google review
We’ve been based in Port Montenegro for four years now, and it just keeps getting better. The infrastructure is constantly evolving in the best possible way — everything is modern, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed. The entire marina is surrounded by lush greenery, which gives it a very relaxed and luxurious feel. The promenade is absolutely stunning, perfect for evening strolls or morning coffee with a view. There are also some truly fantastic cafés and restaurants — stylish, with great service and high-quality food. It’s a pleasure to be here year after year.
Iryna D — Google review
Beautiful place! Totally different vibe from the old Kotor or Budva cities. Great for having a dinner in one of the fine dining restaurants nearby or just for a walk. A lot of yachts, good looking people, places to sit down and enjoy the views. Very clean and modern place. Not that big, you can see all of it in 30 minutes. Also there are lots of luxury brand shops and delicious cafes (recommend the Kafeterija for coffee)
Anna — Google review
Very nice and upmarket marina. Carparking was good with plenty of spaces. Can see this becoming a bit of a go to place over the next few years once established. Road in and out is a bit of pain. To be fair the whole of Montenegro is quite difficult to get around in peak season as there's usually only one by bypass which connects everything and it does get rather busy.

The Blue Cave, located on the Lustica Peninsula, is a breathtaking natural wonder known for its iridescent blue waters. This UNESCO attraction offers boat tours, kayaking, and snorkeling opportunities. The cave gets its name from the stunning reflection of the water that gives it a mesmerizing blue hue. Visitors can spend hours swimming and capturing picturesque moments in this magical setting. The Bay of Kotor, where the cave is nestled, attracts travelers seeking serene waters and natural beauty from around the world.
We sailed to Blue Cave on a boat with 50 pax and managed to get inside. It’s not possible to swim there due to waves so do not get mislead with the add. You will sail out of the cave and swim just outside. The water is perfect not cold I would say. Amazing experience.
Shukhrat U — Google review
If you have never seen a sea cave, and are willing to brave 45+ minutes each way from Kotor for a 5 minute view, go for it. Otherwise it is totally another sea cave with not much special. No swimming and lots of traffic. Would have opted out with a better understanding of the undertaking to come see it. If you want to go, just get a private speed boat on your own.
Zeke I — Google review
Came end of season on a boat wed hired for the day, so a much calmer experience. No rush there. Captain time visit between "waves" of the fast boats, so only us and one other boat. Snorkeled thought the cave which was breathtaking and we swam into the smaller caves too. If you don't want to whizz and bounce there and back with no swim, I can recommend Captain Ivan bost hire and make a full 9 hour day of enjoying the whole bay as well as this beautiful cave.
Steve C — Google review
The Blue Cave is a magical spot where sunlight turns the water a glowing, electric blue, it feels like stepping into another world. Swimming inside the cave was an unforgettable experience, with clear, cool water and stunning natural light. It’s a must visit if you’re exploring the Montenegrin coast by boat.
Mohammed I — Google review
The water is as blue as promised. Far too many boats to enjoy the ambience and weren’t able to swim in the cave however would recommend a must see if you are in kotor. Was able to swim outside of it. The water was warm and clear.
Gabe K — Google review
The cave itself is not that interesting. 4 boats could fit and we only spent a few minutes. But the boat ride out and back was awesome. Expansive views.
Sean E — Google review
A must-see when visiting Kotor! The color of the water inside the Blue Cave is unreal - crystal clear and glowing blue. We took a small boat tour and it was the perfect way to explore.
JYOh — Google review
Can’t be accessed during choppy seas. If you get sea sick easy and the sea is choppy don’t go on this trip, saw several unwell guests who did this. It’s also a tad dangerous, the boats time entering the cave with the waves, a wrong move and the boat will crash on the top of the cave. Once in there swimming just be aware boats have to speed to enter so have your wits about you, there is no health and safety. Inside is a tight space with choppy waves hitting the sides of the cave all mixed in with swimmers, kayakers, other boats and paddle boards. Very nice but risky in some areas and if you get sea sick not recommended (unless you get a very calm day indeed)

There are loads of companies offering boat tours but we are so happy to have found this one. The very good reviews helped us to make our choice and we weren't disappointed at all. The staff is taking care of their customers, the weather wasn't really great today very windy and they were really honest with us about the conditions etc....we really appreciated that! They are not just there to sell cruises and make money. The captain was also very kind, we had a great time and we could have a bigger boat than initially scheduled which was better. Thank you again!!

We had an amazing time on the speedboat! We took a 3 hour ride to the blue cave and it was such a fun experience. We jumped off the boat to the water, they pause for 20-30 minutes. 10/10 Summer activity I recommend the VIP course it’s definitely worth the money.

The Blue Cave tour with Sea Stars was very well organised and run. We booked on short notice and were accommodated and on a fast speedboat within the hour. The boat was comfortable and we quickly arrived at the Blue Cave. It was great fun swimming in the cave and another adjacent one. We then headed back around towards Kotor and into the submarine tunnel which was really interesting and fun. Then a last stop at Our Lady of the Rocks before arriving back right on the advertised 3 hour mark. I would highly recommend.

This is a very reliable family-owned business. A day before the trip, they sent me a message explaining that due to stormy weather, the sea was rough and there was a chance we wouldn’t be able to enter the Blue Cave, and asked if I wished to cancel. In the end, I decided to go for it. The tour was insane — full of action. Definitely one of the best attractions of the whole trip. Thank you so much for an unforgettable experience.

We had a very good trip! The boat was very nice and comfterable, we were a small group (9 ppl)and it felt like a private tour🤩. Thank you for an amazimg boat trip!

We hired a private boat from Sea Stars for the Blue Cave tour and it was nothing short of spectacular. The boat was in excellent condition, the captain was friendly and professional, and the views were absolutely breathtaking. Swimming in and around the Blue Cave, seeing the submarine tunnels, and cruising by Our Lady of the Rocks made it a truly memorable experience. On the day of our original booking, there was a huge storm over Kotor. Sea Stars kept us informed throughout the day and automatically accommodated us for the next morning without any hassle. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Kotor.

Really enjoyed our meal here. Great cocktails too! Thoroughly recommend the tuna fillet (so juicy!) and the braised beef. Lively atmosphere, great staff and a good Old Fashioned!
Mrs O — Google review
Excellent service and setting. More of an upmarket feel than that of many restaurants in the Old Town. Food was very good with a huge portion of mussels to start, followed by braised beef and mash, and seafood risotto. We paid 100e for drinks, a shared starter, two main meals and a tip. More pricey than other places, however the setting / upbeat service was worth it. I would have liked a side of vegetables with main course (some green beans or something) which wasn’t possible - small observation, not a complaint. We would recommend.
D M — Google review
Honestly the best food I had in Montenegro and even during our Croatia trip. The sea bass ceviche, cevap and tuna wore to die for! The waiters are very kind and the food is absolutely delicious! If I ever get the chance I’d definitely come back. :)
Maria M — Google review
I had a great time at this restaurant, thanks to a wonderful waitress from Chile. Her friendly and positive attitude really made my day! She was very attentive and kept checking to make sure I had everything I needed. The slow-braised beef with mashed potatoes was amazing too. I highly recommend this place!
Isaac S — Google review
I had mussels with buvara sauce to start, followed by linguine. The mussels tasted fresh and the sauce was excellent, although most of it went to waste as there was no bread provided and I didn't feel like paying another €3 on top of the €20 I'd already paid. The linguine was a little underwhelming, another nice sauce on the pasta but not enough of it to really deliver the flavour in each mouthful. I didn't try the wine as it was very expensive, €7 for 125ml of the cheapest available, €40 a bottle minimum. Overall not a bad meal at all but I ate better food much cheaper while in Kotor.

A whimsical getaway in the heart of the town's centre with eclectic experience which awakens the senses. The food was simply astonishing, a true fine dining pleasure below any standard price. This cute place definitely surprised us with the quality of the menu and the food itself, but also with approachable staff and their hospitality. We had an amazing tuna steak, carefully prepared and very obviously well-marinated, paired with cauliflower purée, exquisite octopus dish and a glass of local wine that our amazing host Miljan recommended. Very thankful for the experience and 10/10 would recommend!

Food was absolutely incredible. Highly recommend the tuna tartare. So fresh..the risotto was also fabulous. Easy to see why this restaurant was so busy. Service staff were so friendly and engaging. This place will definitely add to your experience if you are a foodie!

It was great!!! The waiter was super helpful and caring. As soon as we walked in he immediately offered toys for our son, which of course immediately got his attention. The fish soup was excellent, probably for the first time in 2 weeks of trying this soup in this place it meets expectations. Be sure to get the local bread plate - it's well worth it. The linguini with prawns was also perfectly cooked, except a little too much salt. The grilled sea bass with potatoes was very decent. The cost of food here is a bit higher than other places, but it's worth it. 2 main courses, 2 soups, 2 drinks - 75€.

Terrific food, atmosphere and service. While the food and views were amazing our waitperson made it even more enjoyable. I think he was French, couldn't pronounce his name even if I remembered it. He was so much fun and professional at the same time

Everything started off great, but we couldn’t get the attention of staff to save our life Asked to see the whole fish, they never came back to show us Asked for slices lemon. Had to ask a second person to get 15 mins later I understand tipping is not required but we were going to add 20% and then our guy literally vanished for 10 minutes while our driver was sitting out front. Seems the other “American” table must have tipped well so he spent those 10 mins taking selfies with them with the card processing machine in hand. Food was good Beet starter was 10 pieces on a plate 10x larger than the beets. Kinda awkward Soup was epic! View is worth the $200 Service in these countries is somewhat confused maybe.

Breathtaking views with a choice of covered terrace or indoor glass-walled room, both projecting low over the water. Outstanding service, food and wine selections. Best sea bass fillet with asparagus and Mediterranean vegetable medley.

Is this the best restaurant in all of Kotor, why I say yes! Great view of the harbor and all its activity. Extensive wine list, fresh seafood and unique starters. The scallop TarTar was an amazing dish, some tbh big I would find at a Michelin star restaurant.

After a string of underwhelming and disappointing meals in Kotor, Galion was a welcome change. It was the only place we tried where the food actually stood out and had fresh, high-quality ingredients, well-prepared dishes, and attentive service in a lovely setting. By far the best experience we had in town, and the only one we’d genuinely recommend. (Prawn and bisque pasta was perfect)

AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!! My wife and I spent beautiful night there. Romantic dinner with amazing view, good wine and great service. Sea bass was perfectly cooked, with a crispy exterior and a tender, flavorful interior. My wife ordered octopus (I was jealous) 😋 The restaurant had a warm, cozy and inviting atmosphere, with soft lighting and comfortable seating. The background music was subtle, romantic with amazing view of Kotor and marina. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, always making sure we had everything we needed. They were happy to offer recommendations and made us feel welcome, like at home. I would highly recommend their sea bass and octopus which was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. The presentation was beautiful, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. After all we shared desert (forgot the name) with apple, biscuits and ice cream 😋😋😋 my favourite From 1 to 5 I give them 6 stars 🌟

Fast food restaurant
Contact Fast Food is a popular spot for delicious fast food in Montenegro. The restaurant offers a variety of options, including mouthwatering meat dishes and cheesy pizzas. Customers have raved about the quality of the medium margherita pizza, which is freshly made to order and served piping hot. Additionally, the cheeseburger and chicken sandwiches are highly recommended for their great taste and affordability.
We were hanging around in search for a restaurant to have dinner and all of a sudden decided to have pizza at Contact Fast Food Tivat. We grabbed 4pizzas with 3 cokes and headed to the beach 20meters. There we had our picnic dinner. The pizza here are amazing, the cheese is so delicious in Montenegro. Total we paid 17EUROs. The next day we returned and had burgers. Delicious indeed. Out of 4 nights we stayed at Tivat we came here 3 times for our dinner ))

Food is delicious but customer service very poor specially to these lady who is very rude in asian tourist. Is it right to tell to a customer you don't have time to put in take out bag the food that we ordered. This restaurant is racist and not recommended to asian tourist!!!

We stayed in Tivat for 4 nights and we came to this shop 5 times! Pizzas and sandwiches are great! Very good for snack or dinner. Probably the best local snack place we’ve had in Montenegro. 😊🧡

Nice place for fast food. Sish Cevapi good to try. We also like the pizza. Prices are really afordable.

I wish I could give them 0 stars for the service. They scam tourists by giving wrong stuff and when we asked them they started arguing. They gave us beef+becon burger instead of chicken. Didn’t even make a new one. Kept the one which they had already made which was untouched by us. Didn’t even give us the refund. And they kept talking about us in their language like we’re some aliens. The big lady who works in the evening is very rude. Zero sense of how to talk to a customer.

Excellent Pizza. Fair option for vegetarians. Good value for money. A lot of other places are overpriced, but this seems to be fairly priced. The crust and base is thin, doesn't feel lumpy, and liberal with cheese. I would recommend this place. The view is an added plus.

Konoba Skolji offers a unique dining experience where guests can choose their fresh fish of the day and watch it being expertly cooked by a grill master. The care and attention given to preparing the fish is evident, with skilled servers like George providing professional and entertaining service. The restaurant's waterfront location provides a beautiful view of various activities, adding to the overall ambiance. In addition to seafood, the restaurant also serves delicious lamb dishes cooked in a 'bell.'
Great seafood! Definitely deserve a much higher rating. We had the octopus carpaccio and even though I’m not a big fan of octopus, I loved it. Very well seasoned. We also had a tuna steak which was cooked perfectly and the best part was the mussels in traditional sauce. It tasted amazing.

Nice konoba with friendly waiter. Food was good but some shortcomings. Risotto was cooked a bit too short. Veal dish cooked on special local way on grill for 5 hours was very nice. We ordered chicken drum sticks but got chicken breast instead. It was nice anyway. Cheesecake was with strawberries from a can. Better just put strawberry sauce on it then...

The restaurant has great views. My review is only for the Icecream. I bought a takeaway Icecream, two scoops for €3. It's the smallest portion I have ever had in my life! Was tasty though.

Helpful, atentitive staff. Delicious, well priced house wine. Wine selection is good enough in general. Well prepared steak, fresh vegetables. Appetizers were dissapointing (at this price level the restaurabt shoud not offer canned tuna instead of freah fish).

Day 2

West side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the west side side of town. Start the day off with Kampana Tower, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Kotor beach. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Kampana Tower is a significant feature of the medieval fortifications surrounding Kotor's old town. Dating back to the 13th and 14th centuries, it offers stunning views of the bay and surrounding mountains. Situated near Skurda river, it provides a glimpse into Kotor's historical importance. The tower is part of fortified walls with bastions, including the nearby Sea Gate and Bembo Bastion.
Very beautiful architectural monument! Picturesque places and ancient architecture of the old town of Kotor! There are always many tourists here!

This Old town gives great views of Kotor Bay and Mountains. It is in the Unesco world heritage sites. There are several historical buildings in this entire area of Fortification of Kotor. Many churches as well.

Kampana Tower is a prominent historical structure that forms part of the fortification of Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Located in the picturesque old town of Kotor, Montenegro, the tower is a testament to the region’s rich medieval history. The fortifications, including Kampana Tower, were built to protect the town from invaders and are an excellent example of military architecture from the Venetian period. Visitors of the tower can enjoy stunning views of the Bay of Kotor and the surrounding mountains, making it a popular spot for photography and sightseeing. Indeed this a recommended tourist spot for visitors coming to Kotor, Montenegro. A good experience for me to be here.

We visited a beautiful tourist area, but unfortunately, there was a serious shortage of parking, which made it quite difficult to arrive and caused some delays at the start of our visit. On the positive side, the path along the wall was very pleasant – an easy walk with a lovely view, perfect for a relaxed stroll and some nice photos. Overall – the place is definitely worth a visit, but it’s important to plan ahead for parking and come with a bit of patience.

Kampana Tower – Kotor’s Whispering Watchman Just two blocks from our Airbnb in the Old Town’s labyrinth, the 14th-century Kampana Tower rises like a stone heartbeat at the northwest corner of Kotor’s UNESCO walls—its squat, crenelated crown guarding the city since Illyrian days. Climb the narrow spiral (free, no lines) for a secret balcony where the Bay of Kotor unfurls in liquid sapphire, red roofs spill like spilled garnet, and the fortress trail snakes skyward past Our Lady of Remedy. At dusk, the tower’s shadow stretches across cobblestones where cats doze and church bells braid the air with salt and jasmine. No crowds, just the hush of centuries and the soft clink of espresso cups below. A hidden gem for sunset selfies and soul-quiet moments.

The Kotor Cats Museum is a charming establishment in the heart of Kotor's Old Town, showcasing an extensive collection of cat-related artifacts and vintage artwork. Curated by Pierro Pazzi, a passionate collector from Venice, Italy, the museum features an array of cat memorabilia including postcards, antique advertising, coins, and posters.
With only 1 Euro, you can visit this cat museum, there’s a lot of cats related painting and art inside the museum!! Would definitely recommend my friends who visit Kotor to come here! All the souvenir are so cute as well;)

Very small museum with pictures of cats. Entrance fee apparently goes to feeding the cats of Kotor. In the museum shop you can buy pictures of cats standing in front of a certain WW2 landmark in Poland (can't name it or the review will get shadowbanned), comparing the EU to this landmark or if you find that too tasteless you could opt for a magnet of Ursula von der Leyen depicted as a certain German person
Koen S — Google review
It is a small but well organized exhibition of various pictures/stories/articles/prints involving cats. The little gift shop had a lovely selection of magnets and other items. I particularly liked that they support local efforts to help take care of the cities feline population. Cash only.

I just love cats. Its a Small and nice museum. It's so appreciated that they feed the cats of Kotor. Only 1€ for the tickets. Must visit if u have a cat pet. 🐈
Nishant P — Google review
A must-see for cat lovers! 🐾 This quirky little museum is full of feline charm – both in the exhibits and around the building. It’s small, inexpensive, and supports the local cat community. The postcards, vintage cat prints, and funny signs are delightful! Don’t expect a big museum – it’s more like a cozy collection of cat-themed nostalgia. And yes, you’ll meet a few real cats hanging around the entrance or basking in the sun! No waiting time, perfect for a quick and charming stop in Kotor Old Town. Definitely worth a visit – especially if you’re traveling with kids or just a cat person at heart.
Gurmatik — Google review
The Cats Museum in Kotor gets a lot of hype, but our experience was disappointing. Yes, it’s inexpensive (1 euro) and some describe it as “well organized,” but what you actually get are two small rooms of cat-themed odds and ends like postcards, stamps, magazine clippings, and advertisements. The second room feels like a repeat of the first. There’s little depth, and overall it felt forgettable. The biggest letdown, though, was the gift shop. While some visitors may enjoy the magnets and trinkets, we were shocked to see posters in bad taste. Offensive items like that don’t belong in any museum, one where children and families visit, let alone one supposedly celebrating cats. It's in really bad taste. On the positive side, we did notice they support local efforts to feed and care for Kotor’s street cats, which is good to see. But honestly, if you love cats, you’ll have a much better time enjoying the real ones roaming the old town. The museum? Not worth the stop.
Joseph P — Google review
Very small museum of cats in articles and images. €1 entry and a small gift shop. Perfect to support Kotor's cats
George L — Google review
I had a lovely trip to the Kotor Cats Museum in June 2023. I was charmed by the quirky nature of fhe establishment which provides support to the multitude of (generally healhthy, happy, and well looked after) vagrant cats which reside in Kotor. The museum is small but oozes character; there isn't a spare inch on it's walls which are decked out with a vast range of depictions of cats engaging in a wide range if both contemporary and historical behaviours traditionally reserved for humans. A few personal favourites include Mewsi and Purnaldo, paint me like one of your french cats, and a depiciton of a ritual/torture style castration of a cat as if it were taking place in medieval England (all pictured below). Alongside this humour, there are a range of historicalky significant graphics which feature our furry feline friends - such as a WW1 propaganda piece by the Belgian armed forces depciting Germany as an evil cat assailant poised to do combat with the Belgian mouse (also pictured below). All in all this place is a great place to spend 20-30 minutes for cat lovers, art appreciators, and sports nuts alike.

Pizzeria Pronto is a popular spot in Kotor, Montenegro, offering both sit-down dining and takeaway options. The portions are generous and satisfying, making it a convenient choice for on-the-go meals. Located in a peaceful alley outside the busy Kotor center, Pizzeria Pronto provides a tranquil atmosphere to enjoy your meal.
Best place to visit after a night out. This pizza hit the spot every time. A little bit pricey but worth it. Their pizza is always fresh and taste the same every time you order it so you can count on quality every time👌 either it's always good or I'm just drunk every time i eat it 🤣🤣 Anyway don't skip Pronto ☺️

They serve pizza slices in a very practical way. They use thin, thin dough, and the leavening is excellent. It doesn't leave a heavy feeling in your stomach; you should definitely try it. The tomato sauce is a bit too strong for my taste. But it's a great meal while wandering the streets of Old Town.
Ugur K — Google review
[What Did We Eat?] We tried several Neapolitan-style pizzas – one with burrata, another with cherry tomatoes, and one loaded with fresh greens. The dough was airy, with a perfect crisp crust and soft interior. High-quality ingredients, especially the cheese and tomatoes, stood out. [Price] Slightly above average, but the quality and portion sizes justify it. Great value for what you get. [Ambiance] Cozy and warm atmosphere. The seating is comfortable and the open kitchen adds to the experience – it’s fun to watch the pizzas being made. [Service] Friendly and fast! Even though it was busy, the staff stayed attentive and professional. [Time to Visit] We went on a weekend evening – it was crowded, so booking ahead is a smart move. [Overall Impression] Highly recommended for real Italian pizza lovers. A feast for both the eyes and the taste buds!

€3.50 euro for a massive slice of pizza, how can you resist? Honestly such yummy pizza, big slice to fill you up and quick and easy service. I had a ham and mushroom and my partner had pepperoni. Great place to grab food if you are on more of a budget or just want a quick hot snack.

If you find yourself wandering the charming streets of Kotor Old Town and craving authentic, delicious pizza, Pizzeria Pronto is a must-visit. The cozy atmosphere perfectly complements the historic vibe of the area, making it a great spot to relax after exploring. The pizza here is simply outstanding — thin, crispy crust with fresh, high-quality toppings that burst with flavor in every bite. Whether you’re a fan of classic Margherita or more adventurous combinations, the menu offers a solid variety to satisfy every craving. The staff are friendly and attentive, adding to the overall welcoming experience. Prices are very reasonable considering the prime location and quality of the food. Plus, the portions are generous enough to share or enjoy as a hearty meal. Overall, Pizzeria Pronto is a fantastic choice for a casual yet delicious meal in Kotor Old Town. I’d definitely recommend stopping by for a slice (or two)!
Avinash N — Google review
This trendy pizza place offers a 3.5€ slice that’s surprisingly large, but unfortunately, it lacks any real flavor. The slices are dripping with cooking oil, making it a disappointing experience.
Peleg S — Google review
Interesting experience in the local pizzeria. The pizza is OK, I can’t say WOW, but it is well made and everything fresh and big portion. I was reading a lot negative reviews about ketchup on the table - yes, it is there, but no one force you to use it. I saw how local guys were eating, they fully covered the pizza by ketchup. Very friendly staff.
Dmitry Z — Google review
The pizza here is really amazing! I’ve tried it three times. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because the first two times, the slices weren’t warm, which affected the taste. But since the cheese and tomato sauce were so good, I waited for a warm slice the third time and that’s when I got the real taste! My advice: if the slices are cold, please warm them up or mention it to the customer, because when it’s warm, it’s very, very tasty!

Saint Tryphon's Cathedral, located in Kotor, Montenegro, is a Romanesque Catholic church dating back to 1166. The cathedral houses a collection of gold and silver religious relics as well as stunning frescoes. It is one of only two Roman Catholic cathedrals in Montenegro and is dedicated to the town's patron saint. The cathedral has undergone several reconstructions due to earthquakes over the centuries but still retains its Romanesque architecture inside.
Saint Tryphon's Cathedral is located in the v center of the Kotor Old town. It was built in 1166 and one of Montenegro's picturesque sites. It has been reconstructed several times after several earthquakes. In the earthquake in 1667, the entire frontage was destroyed, it was reconstructed with addition of the baroque bell towers. Worth visiting it.

This time we visit the Roman Catholic cathedral, one of only two in Montenegro. Built on the site of a church dating back to 809, it has never been completely destroyed, despite numerous earthquakes, and its structure has changed each time it has been rebuilt. The interior is simple, devoid of opulence, gold, or jewels.

Shopping Centre Kamelija, located just outside the walls of Old Town Kotor, is a popular spot for both locals and tourists. This compact mall offers a variety of boutiques, clothing stores, toy shops, perfumeries, and cafeterias. It also features a food court and a kids' playroom. The well-maintained center has ample parking space and houses cosmetic shops, cafes, sporting goods stores, and a fresh fruit store.
Great little mall to visit with kids! Their play and games area on the top floor is all you need for a little time off. Kotor Beach is a picturesque spot in Montenegro, offering a serene and calming environment. The beach, although more of a private area than an extensive stretch, boasts stunning views and tranquil waters. Visitors can enjoy the soothing sounds of birds and water while relaxing on the shingle-pebble shore. It's recommended to consider booking a private transfer when traveling to Kotor, especially for families, as it provides convenience and efficiency.
It's still a bit cold but is most certainly swimmable temperature small rocks are a lil sharp but I don't think u would need a sea shoe is just a nice chill beach
Öykü A — Google review
Obsessed with this beach and the views. This is what heaven looks like. The water was great for snorkeling too (saw some fishes) but the visibility isn’t great if you swim away from the shore. The sunbeds are free to use around sunset time. And the area is pretty safe until late night.
Sphoorti — Google review
Stone beach, at high tide there are only slabs of concrete, which you have to jump straight into the water. It gets very busy and is mostly covered in expensive beach chairs. The views are nice and it's close to town centre.
Tim H — Google review
A pebble beach in Kotor. We paid 20 euros for 2 seabeds and an umbrella. You pay 10 more euros if you want the cushions as well. The sea was clean but very cold. We spent around 5 hours here and were very comfortable.
Atakan U — Google review
Sandy beach, water is not crystal clear but allright. You have to pay for sunbeds. There is free shower. It is nice that there are palm trees around for shade.
Vid V — Google review
The beach has beautiful views, but keep in mind that half of it is reserved for sunbeds, so during peak hours it can be hard to find a free public spot. There are public showers, which is convenient, but the water isn’t very clear, possibly due to nearby cruise ships and boats. Still, it’s a nice place to relax for a short swim or enjoy the coastal scenery — just better to come early or later in the day if you want space on the public side. It’s located just 10 minutes on foot from the Old Town, making it easy to reach. Make sure to bring water shoes, as the beach has a lot of rocks and can be uncomfortable to walk on barefoot.
Bryan T — Google review
The water is very nice for a swim. It could be so much better if there was no trash. No wonder there isn’t a trash bin to be found. No changing room either. Shower doesn’t work. The beach club area is too big and overpriced.
Sebastian S — Google review
Narrow strip of stony beach and concrete promenade between road and the sea. Busy peak season with pot luck finding towel space. At least a third of beach is private with loungers and parasols at 40 EUR a day per pair. Even more crowded when cruise ship docks. Beautiful, clear twinkling sea in the sun. Range of beach bars, cafes, restaurants and bakeries. All good value.

Just needed to relax for a while and not be a tourist. This place has a wide range of coffees and food, all at reasonable prices. I had the Crepe Hazelnut and wow, unbelievable the taste and how much you get ( photo ). Service and atmosphere is good as it is right in the middle of a mall. But food especially desserts are not up to the mark. I had Tiramisu and it tasted old and extremely oily (why oil in tiramisu!?). The tiramisu and cakes that were on display when I bought, after 5 days also same 3 pieces were remaining. May be locals are aware. Just go for fresh items like pizza and burgers here. Coffee was good.

The spinach chicken pasta was tasteless. The 3,mushroom risotto was under cooked, but the mushrooms had a good taste, but the sauce was tasteless. I think the waitress was very annoyed with us being there, not friendly. The air conditioning worked great. The chairs were comfortable. Keep your receipt you can use it to access the toilet for free. I wish I just grabbed some street pizza and a coke.

Quite possibly the worst food I’ve had in motor so far. I ordered the Wok Chicken. It had 4 pieces of chicken in it (I pulled them to the bottom so you can see them) and the rice was wildly undercooked. Absolutely pointless meal.
Chloe E — Google review
Delicious food, nice staff, comfortable seats. I highly recommend the Caesar salad and the ham omelette. ★★★★★
Luis — Google review
The service was alright although the waitress didn’t ask if we wanted anything besides the 2 cakes we ordered. The cakes were homemade which is arguably good, but they lacked freshness, possibly 1-2 days old. The atmosphere was noisy, but that is to be expected in the middle of a shopping mall.

This place don't have the best location in Kamelija Shopping Center but the slim waitress with spectacles is very good, friendly, quick and efficient, too bad I didn't ask for her name but she is the only one there. This place has a small balcony with some seatings where you can open the windows for fresh air. I only have coffee and it's good and not expensive.

Mon Bistro Cafétéria

Cocktail bar
Mon Bistro Cafétéria is a charming French-inspired coffee shop located in a narrow alley near Kotor Cathedral. It's known for its delicious breakfast offerings, including buttery croissants with various fillings like chocolate, raspberry, Njegusi Prosciutto, cheese, and arugula. The café is praised for serving the best coffee in Kotor and offers a cozy atmosphere to enjoy your meal.
We popped into Mon Bistro Cafeteria for a quick breakfast and had a great experience. To start, we had a latte and the pomegranate juice - which was so refreshing! To eat, we each had the healthy breakfast, which was a yogurt parfait with granola and fruit, with a side of honey. We were still a little hungry and ended the meal with croissants, which were so delicious!

Really nice staff. Took them a while to bring over the card machine after asking but was good food. The waitress was able to recommend which bagel she preferred, and it was very good! Definitely worth a visit. However, some outdoor seating you may be in direct constant sunlight
Sophie G — Google review
Cute cafe in a side street next to the church square. Prices were moderately high as in most places in town. But we all enjoyed the food we had. We had to sit inside as the tables outside were full and as it's quite small it felt very cramped and dark so make sure to get a seat outside for a nicer ambience.

Mon Bistro is such a cute café with a cozy vibe! The morning service was excellent—friendly, quick, and welcoming. A great spot to start the day. Thank you!

Amazing and cozy small yet beautiful café… great service great drinks, incredible music tucked in in the heart of the city of Kotor. A must when you’re walking around the city… to catch your breath enjoy a delicious latte before you keep exploring this incredible country 🇲🇪

I just had a simple chocolate donut and a cappuccino. Both were excellent! The seating area in the middle of Old Town is such a delightful experience. Highly recommended!

I didn’t expect such high-quality food—it really surprised me, specially the croissant. The staff were also very kind and attentive.

Best raspberry croissant I've ever had. Cute sitting and great coffee. The savory croissants can use some dressing or mayonnaise.

Marshall's Gelato

4.8

Ice cream shop
Marshall's Gelato is a top-notch ice cream shop nestled in the heart of Kotor's Old Town. Renowned for its artisanal approach to crafting flavors, it has become a beloved destination for ice cream aficionados seeking authentic and innovative options. The pistachio flavor stands out as a must-try, described as incredibly creamy and delicious. In addition to traditional varieties, they also offer vegan options.
The absolute best gelateria in Kotor, 5/5 no question. I might even say some flavours were the best that I've ever had. Glad I discovered them on my first day there. I went in every single day until I left Kotor.
Taiba F — Google review
For the flavors I have chosen nougat with coffee and Marshall s special, the taste is mediocre. But other flavors were much better such as pistachio, strawberry, passion fruit, and tiramisu. Expect to wait for 10 mins or so in the queue. But staff are very friendly and speak different language
Amal E — Google review
One of our all-time favourite ice cream spots. Since we discovered it a few years ago, we keep coming back each time we visit Kotor. Superb quality and selection of flavors that are all lovely and really tough to choose from.
Roman K — Google review
Best Ice Cream in town... don't get lured by the ice cream stands all around in the old town... keep your eyes peeled for this gem! Pink Pomegrenade, Violet Ice, Dark Chocolate Orange, White Chocolate Pistachio... only superb flavours, plus it's cheaper
Skolopender — Google review
This was honestly amazing gelato. The pistachio might be one of the best I’ve had. They also had some interesting flavors like dark chocolate and orange which were very good.
Haley S — Google review
Best gelato in Kotor! Made from fresh ingredients without preservatives, so the flavors rotate regularly. Recommend any flavors with hazelnut, pistachio, or coconut.
T. S — Google review
We stopped by Marshall’s Gelato for a quick scoop of gelato. We tried the chocolate, tiramisu, raspberry, and salted hazelnut. We loved it here and came back for a second time because we liked it that much!
Jessica S — Google review
Worth the hype! We went twice during our stay and every flavors we tried were dreamy. By far one of the best ice cream we’ve had, not too sweet and full of flavors 😋🍦

Restaurant
Konoba Akustik is a charming restaurant located near Kotor Beach, offering an outdoor terrace with stunning views of the sunset over Kotor Bay. The ambiance is enhanced by candlelight and fairy lights after dusk. Guests can enjoy cold Montenegrin-brewed Niksicko beer while taking in the picturesque scenery. The restaurant serves generous portions of authentic Montenegrin food, accompanied by live music every evening.
After exploring the old town, this restaurant is a great place to relax. Choose between the cool indoors or sunny outdoor seating to suit your mood or how much you like hot weather! The grilled fish was both tasty and beautifully presented, and everything else on the plate was just as amazing and perfectly seasoned. They offer a thoughtful selection of wines and the menu overall is diverse and interesting... perfect for satisfying your hunger after a day of sightseeing. It's a wonderful spot to grab a bite and unwind.
Palu S — Google review
The restaurant is located by the port in a lovely area — perfect for a walk or a dinner with a view. Unfortunately, there are very few vegetarian options, which is disappointing. Also, the beef we ordered medium and medium-well was served the wrong way around. That said, the food was tasty overall, and the service was friendly and attentive. I would recommend it, but there are still a few details that could use some improvement.
Karolina G — Google review
I came to Montenegro for the day and was very pleased to find this restaurant. The octopus was cooked just right and the beer was so crisp for such a warm day. The staff is very pleasant and handled the crowd with grace! The views were pretty great as well!
J V — Google review
Great location restaurant with a lovely upstairs dining area with fantastic views of Kotor. We were part of a large tour of 50+ people, so the service was very slow and at times non existent. The food portions were HUGE. The salmon fillet (while very large) was very dry on the outside and raw in the middle. Overall, tasty and flavorful. Would definitely go back and try them again.
Matthew D — Google review
We came here for an early dinner and left satisfied with the food and the service. The octopus meal was delicious and the pasta serving was very large. We also had a kotor cream pie which is not pictured.

The place is cheaper than other restaurants but the food was not good as expected We tried pizza and grilled chicken. But the pizza was too salty and chicken was so so.. We had coupon thru guide so had free drinks and pastries.
Rakez ( — Google review
A disappointing experience and meal. We were recommended to Konoba Akustik by our tour guide with the offer of a free alcoholic drink and dessert (we didn't bother staying for the dessert). Firstly it took atleast 40 mins for our ordered drinks to be bought out (2 x Coca-Cola) and even longer for some of the most disappointing food I'd ever eaten. They had one waiter working the entirety of the terrace himself with taking orders, serving orders, and serving drinks. The poor guy was trying his absolute best but was left to fail by the business. Other staff members would bring the prepared food up and sit it on the bar for the waiter, to then take to tables. I watched multiple plates sit there for several minutes as flies landed all over the food. To start we had ordered the traditional prosciutto which was a generous portion and was really nice. I ordered chicken with mushroom sauce. The meal had no accompanying sides besides 1/2 a tomato (the pictured olives were from the prosciutto plate) The chicken was so dry even the sauce didn't save it. My partner ordered the pictured veal... as you can tell what he received looks nothing like what was advertised. The meat was dry and cold in the middle served with tasteless boiled potatoes. I'd not recommend this restaurant to anyone and would suggest spending your money elsewhere.

We had a dinner Citadela Restaurant we heard nice live music coming from Konoba Akustik restaurant. So, the next evening we decide to visit it. A lady on the steer at the entrance looks for clients and chows the way to the restaurant, she does her job excellent. We got our seats upstairs with an amazing view. We ordered drinks and 2 pastas. We waited for our dishes for maybe an houer, but due to nice weather, wind and excellent view, we were not in rush and just enjoying our time. Total amount we paid was 57.6EUROs. Overall, good place for dinner with a great company.
