Centro Comercial Meridiano is a spacious shopping center located in Santa Cruz, just a short distance from the town center. It offers a wide range of products including clothing, shoes, accessories, and electronics. Visitors can also explore the only Primark store in Tenerife within the mall. The facilities include free restrooms and a Carrefour supermarket for convenient snack and drink purchases. Guests have praised the cleanliness of the shopping center and its diverse food court that caters to various tastes.
Centro Meridiano is a great shopping destination in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. It offers a wide variety of stores, from international brands like Zara and H&M to a large Carrefour supermarket for everyday needs. The food court has plenty of options, ranging from fast food to sit-down restaurants, making it a perfect spot to relax after shopping. The mall is clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate. Whether you're looking for fashion, electronics, or just a place to grab a meal, Centro Meridiano has something for everyone. Definitely worth a visit!

One of the better malls in the canary islands. Has a lot of essential stores. You can find carrefour, sketchers, rituals, subway and many more brands. There is a terrace but I wouldn't recommend cause it was hit in the time of day I went. The mall is cooled in the inside and there is free parking.
Saeed M — Google review
Carrefour is not a great place for a food shop, as only about 25% of the entire place is devoted to food. The rest is clothes, home wear and electronics... That said, it had some decent, although expensive, veggie stuff and almost everything we needed... Carrefour is also one of the better priced supermarkets... there is also a number of other chain clothing shops here... it is a nice walk from the centre to this place and they do have free parking, although it is a tight squeeze to get in and out
Adam D — Google review
Nice, different shop are here not the tourist once you find almost every where along the coast.
Naroxik _ — Google review
Amazing shopping center! It’s large, modern, and has everything you need. From delicious food options to clothing stores and electronics, this place truly has it all. Plus, it’s incredibly spacious, making it comfortable to walk around. Highly recommend!
Marius S — Google review
If you happen to be in Tenerife, this is a good one stop for all your shopping. Items here are at least 30% cheaper than the purpoted duty free in airports
Yohanna J — Google review
Good big shopping centre. Plenty of parking available.
Rab Y — Google review
Great mall with free parking, a lot of food options and the lovely Primark:) they even have some restaurants outside such as cafeteria as well. Carrefour is also placed in the first floor where you can find almost anything! You’ll spend 2-3 hours here at least. The toilet section is very clean and you feel like home. Maybe one of the best malls so far in our vacation. 👌🏽

Gardens
Palmetum, established in 1995 on a former landfill, is a 12-hectare botanical garden featuring an impressive variety of palm species and other tropical plants. Situated atop a hill overlooking the sea and the Cesar Manrique Maritime Park, it offers breathtaking views. The gardens showcase over 600 palm trees along with flowering and fruiting tropical plants from around the world.
Beautiful Gardens in Tenerife Entry was around €5 when I visited. After a short uphill walk, you reach expansive gardens with winding pathways that lead through various themed sections, each showcasing plant species from different parts of the world — including places like Madagascar and Sierra Leone. When I went, there was a great little trailer serving coffee and refreshments. You can pick up a guide map at reception or download one to help you explore. Definitely worth a visit, with some stunning views over Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
Se A — Google review
It is a nice place for a walk with great views of the sea and the auditorium. There are a lot of different plants from all around the world. The entrance fee was 6€ per adult and it was definitely worth it.
Lucia M — Google review
Visited on 07/08. Impressive in an understated way. A beautiful array of plants from different arid countries. Great vista points too. Very reasonable entry fee too. 5 stars, well deserved.
Jake B — Google review
A stunning botanical garden with various sections divided by region – really interesting and well thought out! You can spot lots of lizards along the way, which adds to the charm. The park is huge, perfect for a long, relaxing walk, and it offers beautiful views of the sea and the opera house. An absolute must-visit for plant lovers and nature enthusiasts!
Elodie F — Google review
An excellent Botanic Garden established on reclaimed land originally used for landfill. Separate planting areas reflecting on different geographical regions of the world with diverse and unique plants relative to each area. Interesting botanical specimens. Variety of birds and wildlife inc birds -Hoopoe and White Egret, Moorhens and many more species. Lots of lizards. Spent 3hrs on site. Reasonable price entry 6€. Car park free.
Peter G — Google review
The Palmetum of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, a quite big botanical garden, which specialized in palm trees from over the world. This nice garden was built on a former municipal landfill site. Local authorities just made a beautifull botanic garden instead of mountain of waste, showing first class example of urban renewal and ecological restoration A large number of plants, cozy corners with benches, beautiful views of the ocean make this botanical garden worth your attention. Entrance costs 6Е. There is parking nearby, but sometimes it is very difficult to find a free parking space
Oleksandr P — Google review
A really wonderful place to visit for a few hours and marvel at all the different plants, water features, and views across the sea and city.

El Corte Inglés Tres de Mayo

4.2
(17470)
Shopping mall
El Corte Inglés Tres de Mayo is located on the main streets of Avenidas Tres de Mayo and Manuel Hermoso Rojas, offering a variety of leisure options both indoors and outdoors. The shopping center is part of the famous Spanish El Corte Inglés network, providing a wide range of products from cosmetics and clothing to electronics, interior decoration, and food. Non-EU residents can benefit from discounts on certain brands.
Love this store. Always buy my fancy cosmetics and perfumes here.
Djana F — Google review
A large shopping center where you can find everything. The building seems to have 6 floors. Each of them has a specific theme, such as women's clothing, perfumery, jewelry and bags, men's clothing, sports items, bookstore, children's department, furniture. On the first floor there is a grocery store with high-quality products and a Starbucks, on the last floor there is a cafeteria and a restaurant with panoramic windows. As for me, this is the perfect place to find a gift, or to write a wish list for your holiday for guests. I especially like the section with home goods, tableware, and now various decorations for Christmas. But there are some sad moments about this shopping center. It's a pity that there are no places to wait. Also, the fact that perfumes cannot be touched without an assistant. And in case you bought something from the electronics downstairs and it doesn't work, it will be very difficult for you to prove that it was not you who did it. We bought a juicer here, it worked for a little over a month and broke. Following the law, we came to replace it. We were told that they would replace it if less than 15 days had passed since the purchase. They have some new rules. And after 15 days, you need to send it to the technical center to have the device checked. We were told that we have to wait for a response for 1-1.5 months, although this point is located in a nearby city. We were also offered to take the juicer there ourselves, hinting that it would be faster that way. I would recommend to be careful and think twice before buying something from electronic products there.

After a disappointing visit to the market we decided to go to El Corte Inglés. It’s a huge department store with a supermarket, bakery, restaurant and lots of clothing, house equipments etc. We went to look for bathroom supplies, kitchen supplies, clothing and the restaurant. The view is really nice from the restaurant and the staff is very friendly. I wish they had the same dishes as the other locations. A few things on the menu were also sold out. But overall the same great experience we are used to from this department store.
Nadia — Google review
One of the best shopping centers I’ve ever visited, definitely 5 out of 5 stars. Unlike most malls, where each store has its own fixed spot and the middle is usually just walkways, El Corte Inglés doesn’t waste space. Instead, it has various sections with small stalls, which creates a unique shopping experience. It really reminds me of Ganghua Digital Plaza in Taiwan — similar number of floors, similar layout — and that’s exactly what I like about it. Each floor has its own theme, making the whole place feel vibrant and interesting. My favorite floor is definitely the 5th floor, where all the electronics are. I even bought my DJI Osmo Action 4 there myself. Overall, it’s one of the best shopping centers I’ve ever been to
Jiří K — Google review
In this MEGAstore you can find almost anything you can dream of really and relax in a café and/or restaurant between actions. I imagine with increased online purchases from world wide these huge department stores have lost a bit their importance..but somehow we always end up visiting El Corte Inglés as a part of life 🙏🏻🌿😇
Jakob-Pall J — Google review
Amazing shopping mall, visited grocery supermarket in it and it was massive, full of various things you can't find in a typical Mercadona supermarket, prices very great in comparison to touristic supermarkets around the Southern part of Tenerife
Ilja R — Google review
7 floors of shopping well laid out easy to navigate with a fantastic top floor food and drinks area. Prices v good, choice v good, beer v good, do not mess about, head for the top floor first.
PAUL D — Google review
So we purchased an item online and had to collect, instructions in the email were poor. Visited the S4 level to collect an item that had originally been ordered in a box but turned up in a plastic bag! The food shop was good but some fruit and veg were old and should have been sent to composting. Overall a good shop!

Primark is a popular discount fashion chain that offers a wide range of clothing, accessories, and homewares for all ages. Since its arrival in Tenerife in 2014, it has become a favorite shopping destination for both locals and tourists. Customers appreciate the store's affordable prices and diverse selection of items. Many find the quality of the clothes to be better than other similar stores, making it an ideal place to pick up basic clothing items at great value.

This store is not that great. The prices are not as cheap as one would expect. It was clean and tidy though. I won't be going back. Tenerife has much better and cheaper clothing stores.
KimKim I — Google review
Nice, cheap store with lots of choice. I've never left the store without buying something and trust me, I'm not a shopaholic at all. The things I buy here are twice cheaper then in H&M, absolutely the same model and fabrics
Zanna V — Google review
Did some shopping the other day and the shop was quite full, but the staff works very hard and they're very organised. I did ask some help regarding a bed size sheets and the guy was very helpful, which unfortunately I don't remember the name, but so nice and attentive. Usually you'll find a massive queue on weekends, but the staff is very operative and you don't spend more than 7/10 minutes to pay your stuff. Thank you
Sabina G — Google review
There always seems to be a bit of chaos in this shop and a lot of people. The lines are long most of the time but they move rather fast. Everyone knows what to expect when going to a shop that is so cheap, but in general the experience was good. I just wish they had more clothing options as the one in Gran Canaria for example has more options for actual women's clothing and not just underwear and sports clothes.

Estadio Heliodoro Rodríguez López is the home ground of CD Tenerife, a 2nd division Spanish football team. The stadium, which is over 100 years old, offers great views from almost every seat and has a capacity of 22,824 seats. It's known for its fabulous mountainous backdrop and the lively atmosphere during matches. While it may not sell out completely, getting tickets early is recommended due to the popularity of some games.
Great experience (even though Tenerife lost) The crowd were so passionate, friendly & I had a better time here than at a lot of premiere league games It cost €20 per person to get in - so great price and we had great seats
Michael B — Google review
If you are in town, pop by for a game; don’t expect world class football but take it as an enjoyable casual experience. We got tickets through the clubs website for the San Sebastián sector, where many local fans sat. Within the sector, you can sit wherever you want and you will always be close to the field. You can not enter other sectors. The vibe was great, people got emotional (of course) and there is plenty of sun. In the upper part it can get quite windy. Tickets usually cost between 15-40 Eur, depending on the match. There is a small cafeteria in every sector and you can get a coke for around 3 eur. Overall, everything is easy going, you can basically show up 5 min before the game starts. Have fun!
Laurin W — Google review
watched the barcelona femenina vs tenerife game, absolutely loved it, best experience ever. the stadium was cool, but when booking tickets it was a bit unclear on which side the players enter from and so i booked tickets on the wrong side and didn’t get to take a picture with mapi leon. other than that not bad.

Saw Ed Sheeran here 29th June 2024, Awesome Gig & the venue was a big part of it as well! I never had such a pleasant concert experience, from security checks, to checking in and then getting drinks, everything just flowed, with very mimimal queuing, and was no trouble. All the staff were very smiley and helpful even though we were not speaking the language, Thanks Guys! 👍🙏❤️
Jake E — Google review
What great fun. Watching CD Tenerife play! The stadium is fab with a mountainous backdrop. Watching the sky turn from day to night. The crowd is mainly family. The tickets are very well priced, I paid €15 pp. The atmosphere is quite something. I've been to many Premier League games on the UK and this is definitely up there! This is my second team. LFC will always be my number one. I felt very safe here; watching the game and afterwards when going. There are police in the grounds as well as security, keeping an eye on the risk fans. I've been twice and not seen any trouble. Next season I'm going to try and get to every game. You can buy soft drinks and snacks inside. No alcohol. Entry is easy. The stadium is well marked out so you know which turnstile to go through. Everyone is friendly. We parked down by the palmetum and walked up. It's up hill but only 15 mins. Even if you don't like football this is a must to do when visiting Tenerife!! A real community feel.

There to watch Tenerife FC v Eldense. Atmosphere was fantastic... Lots of kids. The Ultras chanting and singing and banging the drum added to the experience. Not only did Tenerife win as well!! ⚽😁 Definitely a return visit is required. Only down side was the loos. 🤢🤮

Rancho Arizona is a unique spot with a lot of character, featuring a vintage style that adds to its charm. The menu offers great options like stewed pork and tasty burgers and pizzas. Despite the mall location, the food is finger-licking good, making it perfect for a quick bite or drink. The portions are generous and reasonably priced, catering well to families. While language barriers may arise at times, the friendly service and delicious food make for an enjoyable experience overall.
The grilled meat was delicious. We ordered 2 stake beef dishes came with french fries & salad. And we ordered the 2people dish of the grilled 3 skeuars (chicken, pork & beef) came with salad & french fries too. Very good price the meat taste was tender. The service was good. We enjoyed it

Nestled on Calle Capitan Gomez Landero, Aiko Sushi is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates the art of Japanese cuisine. This charming restaurant specializes in sushi tasting, showcasing an impressive selection of high-quality ingredients and beautifully presented dishes that truly elevate the dining experience. The cozy atmosphere makes it a perfect spot to unwind while indulging in exquisite flavors. High quality fresh fish, kind and attentive service, understated Japanese aesthetic, and great selection of wines; overall highly recommended!!

Amazing experience. We didn’t expect much, we were just hoping for the decent sushi, but it turned out to be a real gem! Menu for 4 was fantastic, vibrant flavours, easily the best Japanese I’ve tried in my life. We ended up ordering two additional courses outside of the menu because we just couldn’t get enough. Aiko maki rolls were mind blowing.

top Japanese restaurants in Santa Cruz. The quality-to-price ratio is excellent, with dishes that reflect both freshness and precision in execution. The service was attentive and well-coordinated, contributing to an overall seamless dining experience. Every plate we tried was well-balanced in flavor and presentation. Aiko is a strong recommendation for anyone seeking high-quality Japanese cuisine in the city.

Really excellent sushi in a smart, cosy setting on a quiet street in Santa Cruz. Highlights were the torched scallop nigiri (melt in the mouth, with rice slightly crisped from the torch & well a drop of well-balanced sauce on top), and the 'ebi' roll filled with tempura shrimp and topped with salmon (perfect textures, tempura still warm). Excellent value for food of this quality & finesse - we paid 65€ without alcohol for 2 people. Staff were lovely, helpful in accomodating dietary requirements and spoke good English. Hoping to return soon!

This is a great find! Excellent place, small and not many tables so I booking is a must. The food was really good (for anyone that loves sushi), very fresh and well prepared. We found the service a bit less enjoyable. The waitress was slightly rude and clearly not happy to be there.

Day 2

North side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the north side side of town. Start the day off with Mercado Ntra. Señora de África, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Parque La Granja. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

The Mercado Ntra. Señora de África, established in 1943, is a bustling traditional market featuring various stalls and kiosks offering fresh produce, meat, seafood, flowers, fruit, vegetables, dairy products and more. It serves as a major center of food distribution for the whole of Tenerife and is open every day of the week. On Sunday mornings, it hosts a vibrant flea market in addition to its regular offerings.
Such a hidden gem! We walked past this place about 3 times before we actually noticed it, but I'm so glad we went in! The staff were so friendly and accomodating and recommended wines and certain menu items. The jamon and cheese board was fantastic, and we also received a bread baskets with little personalised crackers. The wine was so lovely we ended up purchasing a bottle of it. It was such a lovely place, I would definitely recommend! You can also buy Jamon, cheese, and wine to take away. 100% recommend!

Experience This market offers an authentic atmosphere — honest, vibrant, and full of character. There are many vendors selling unique local souvenirs, and the fruit displays are colorful and abundant. You’ll also find fresh fish counters with a great selection.

I would like to give minor comment and feedback for this market. Here is having Africa goods also. And one lady is selling nice drawing of Africa. Highly recommend to buy it if people never go to Africa. It's very nice lady and products. Just my personal opinion. I like it, I like her kindness. I wanted to contribute her. Thank you read my silly personal opinion.

Really a very visited place and full of people from very early, with a variety of jewelry products, jewelry and very wide food. Especially the very nice fruits, the seasonings with a spectacular smell and the meats looked very good. The old place but very cozy and clean and the super nice people.

This market place, known as Mercado Nuestra Señora de África, dates from the early forties. It closes at two pm and is mostly busy during weekends. It is a very popular place, both for locals and tourists, to shop for daily fresh produce, artisan goods, and authentic Canarian delicacies. Besides the many stalls, you will also find a variety of bars and food counters. The fish food stalls at the lower level offer delicious dishes to enjoy with some wine. Depending on the catch of the day, you may opt for either of the many counters.

Very interesting market. Loads of variety. Recommend checking out the seafood market and stopping for a glass of wine. I went when it was closing but highly recommend getting there earlier to better appreciate the place. Parking can be tricky.

We went twice, but it was a bit disappointing. The first time we went on a public holiday. The hotel reception said everything will be open in the capital, which was the opposite… But after reading the reviews and the history we went back on a weekday. After a 1,5 hrs bus ride we arrived at 11.15 hrs, and unfortunately most stands were closed or about to close. We wanted to see some plants and flowers. I think if everything is open the experience is different. And it might be a vibrant place. We bought an Argentinian empanada and some fruits. The empanada was okay. I personally like the Caribbean empanadas due to the spices they use. Don’t buy fruits from an Indian lady! She sold us the wrong products and misinformed us. She sells a lot of unripe produce which you can throw away, because it will not ripen. We bought 4 different fruits and all rotten or doesn’t ripe, even after several weeks. The market hall is pleasant to walk, with enough benches and a nice ambiance. But that’s the only positive experience I had.

The Auditorio de Tenerife Adán Martín is a striking arts complex and auditorium located on the seafront. It is housed in a landmark building with a futuristic, curving design. The city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, where the auditorium is situated, boasts several main landmarks including the Torres de Santa Cruz, Plaza de Espana, and Iglesia de la Concepcion.
The Auditorium of Tenerife is amazing—such a cool building right by the sea! Its wave-like shape is super unique and makes for great photos. Inside, it’s just as impressive, with great acoustics and comfy seating. They host all kinds of shows, from classical music to modern concerts. Even if you’re not into architecture or music, it’s worth a visit just to take in the views and atmosphere. A real highlight if you're in Santa Cruz!
Patrick T — Google review
Another wonderful work of the talented architect Calatrava. The same sci-fi aspect as his other creations. The Auditorio reminds me of the Palau de les Arts in Valencia. Amazing architecture! On the website it says that guided tours are organized to visit the interior, but when I sent an e-mail to the official address asking for some details, they didn't bother to answer. A bad mark in the communication section. On the ground floor is a cafe with an outdoor terrace with a beautiful view.

A true architectural gem of Tenerife. The Auditorio looks like something from the future — bold, elegant, and unforgettable. Whether you go for a concert or just to admire the design, it’s absolutely worth it. Standing by the ocean, it feels like art meeting nature. One of the island’s must-see landmarks.

Unfortunately was closed to visitors on the day we went as there was some filming going on. There is a large car park close to it and was free. For some reason google maps was trying to take us via a convoluted route which was bizarre, so just apply common sense when you're getting close to the building which you can't miss.
Babita S — Google review
I recently had the opportunity to admire the Auditorio de Tenerife Adán Martín, one of the most iconic architectural landmarks in the Canary Islands. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to visit the interior as it was closed at the time, but even from the outside, the structure makes a striking impression. Designed by the renowned Santiago Calatrava, the building rises like a sculptural wave on the Santa Cruz waterfront—dramatic, futuristic, and undeniably photogenic. Its bold silhouette stands as a powerful symbol of cultural ambition and modernity, offering a sense of movement and elegance that’s rare in civic architecture. That said, I must express a slight concern. Upon closer inspection, I couldn’t help but notice signs of premature wear and deterioration. Whether it’s due to the materials used or the harshness of the maritime climate, some areas seem to have aged more quickly than one might expect from such a monumental project. It left me with the impression that perhaps more durable materials or maintenance protocols could have better preserved the integrity of the structure. Nonetheless, the Auditorio remains an aesthetic triumph—a place that inspires awe and curiosity. I sincerely hope to return for a performance soon and experience the acoustics and atmosphere that so many have praised. Even from the outside, this building is a must-see for architecture lovers and anyone visiting Santa Cruz.

History Museums
The Museum of Nature and Archaeology in Santa Cruz de Tenerife is a cultural space that showcases the natural history of the Canary Islands and houses a diverse range of organizations such as the Oscar Dominguez Institute, the Tenerife Photography Centre, and the Island Network Library. This innovative concept offers a unique cultural infrastructure with a strong commitment to contemporary artworks and new technological innovations.
Fantastic, modern exhibition on the Canary Islands' history, clearly divided into natural and archeological parts. The world’s best collection of indigenous Canarian cultural artifacts. It slightly lacked more information about the destruction vs. assimilation of these people. Tons of interesting facts, while the overall museum is still relatively compact, not a mammoth that requires a half-day visit.
Krzysztof N — Google review
If you're only in Tenerife for vacation, don't go there. Even if you have seen everything, it still feels like a waste of time. Besides, the majority of the information there is displayed only in Spanish even if it seems that only the tourists visit it. The museum feels forgotten and outdated, full of light-bleached pictures, old non-working TVs and walls of text. Moreover, in places the text has low contrast which makes it hard to read. The building has 3 floors. We spend around 2 hours there and saw most of the expositions. There is very little interactivity so going through the museum can feel quite boring and tedious. It's a shame because there are many interesting expositions that with a little update and more cohesive layout could make this museum a lot more enjoyable. Only time to go there is from 4 PM on Fridays and Saturdays when the visits are FREE. Don't try going earlier because they'll make you wait until it's 16:00.

Amazed by this museum, worth every penny... if you like to learn about the Canary islands and find out about their history, nature, and so on. This is the place, it covers it all. It also has artefacts of other islands, countries that once ruled the islands

There are not many museums in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. This is one of the biggest. Quite interesting. You can see naturalized animals and birds, a beautiful collection of insects (many extremely beautifully colored butterflies), fossils, interesting rocks, archeological discoveries made on the island and even some mummies of the ancient inhabitants of these places. I didn't like the structure of the museum building, it's quite difficult to follow a path through the exhibitions without missing something or without passing the same place twice.

A must visit museum in Tenerife! The museum offers a unique insight into Tenerife's history, culture and nature. The life and heritage of the Guanches, the island's indigenous people, and the modern visual explanation of how the Canary islands were formed was particularly interesting to me as it gave me a deeper understanding of the rich history of Tenerife, an island that I love. It’s mostly in Spanish, but there’s an audio guide in English. Friendly staff and only EUR 5 entrance fee, free after 4pm.

The Museum of Nature and Archaeology in Tenerife (Museo de la Naturaleza y Arqueología, MUNA) left an unforgettable impression on our family and turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. This museum skillfully combines themes of natural science and history, offering fascinating exhibitions and educational experiences suitable for both children and adults. The natural science section was particularly captivating. We had the opportunity to see an excellent collection of exotic butterflies, rare insect species, and diverse plant life that one might not usually encounter. We were amazed at how many new species we discovered and learned about. The exhibits were highly informative, visually appealing, and interactive, which helped even the younger members of our family stay engaged. In addition to nature, the museum offered a unique insight into Tenerife's history and culture. The life and heritage of the Guanches, the island's indigenous people, were presented in great detail and with captivating storytelling. The exhibitions illustrated their way of life, traditions, and adaptation to the island's unique environment. This gave us a deeper understanding of the rich and profound history of Tenerife. The entire museum visit was highly enjoyable thanks to well-organized exhibits, friendly staff, and modern infrastructure. The spacious halls, carefully curated displays, and multimedia installations created an environment where it was easy to learn and explore. We highly recommend the Museum of Nature and Archaeology in Tenerife to anyone looking for more than just tourist attractions. It is an excellent place for nature and history enthusiasts as well as those seeking something new and inspiring during their trip. For our family, this visit was educational, relaxing, and truly memorable.

Parque García Sanabria, located in the heart of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, is a spacious urban park that offers a serene escape from the city's lively atmosphere. Established in 1926, it is the largest park in the Canary Islands and boasts lush gardens, charming fountains, and captivating artworks by both local and international artists. Visitors can wander amidst palm trees, exotic flora, and numerous sculptures while admiring the flower-adorned clock. This 6.
What a lovely park. Everywhere you turn there is something beautiful in front of you. There's plenty of cacti, trees and other flowers to look at. There's structures and statues, fountains and arches, there's also cafes at either ends as well as toilets. If you look carefully enough you'll spot parakeets and frogs in the pond too. Definitely worth checking it out if you visit the city!

A lush botanical park right in the heart of Santa Cruz. Opened in 1926, Parque García Sanabria is the largest city-based botanical park in the Canary Islands. It features tropical and subtropical plants, bamboo tunnels, a cactus garden, and more than 100 open-air sculptures from the 1973 International Sculpture Exhibition. One of its most iconic landmarks is the Swiss-made flower clock, gifted by the Danish consul in 1958 — a popular meeting point surrounded by seasonal blooms. A perfect place to unwind, walk, and enjoy occasional local events like book fairs, markets, and art exhibitions. Peaceful, artistic, and full of nature — worth a visit!

I think we can put it like this that this park is considered to be the most delightful and beautiful "green area" in the heart of Santa Cruz..loaded with all sorts of flowers, different species of trees and plants. It's very well maintained and there are at least two pleasant Cafes in or directly connected to the garden...one mid lower part of the park and another one upper left at the corner by the street.. indeed a special place that I personally like a lot and visit regularly when I'm in the city. Honestly it's a gem 💎 a city's lovely quiet "natural beauty" 😍❤️🌿

Parque Garcia Sanabria is a must visit in Santa Cruz Tenerife. It is a medium level walk for seniors and free. It is beautiful, big, and brimming with a variety of art, flowers, fountains, sculptures, and trees. You could easily spend over 2 hours in this park and not see all the gems it has to offer. It is better than some botanical gardens we have viisited. There are bathrooms (Asoes) near one entrance area by a small café. The walking is mostly level to get there and in the park. In some areas there are stairs and you may need to look for ramps nearby. You can find some elevators if you look. There are many wheelchairs in the park.

Parque La Granja is a charming park that offers various activities for visitors. It features beautiful gardens and pathways, making it an ideal spot for leisurely walks or exercise. Additionally, the park boasts the best and largest skatepark in Tenerife, making it a popular destination for skating enthusiasts. The park's upcoming refurbishment promises to enhance its appeal even further.
This park is not so small, and it has everything you need for a peaceful break. There’s a skate park, where you can often see kids and teens practicing tricks. If you’re more into relaxing, there are plenty of benches under the shade of large trees — perfect for enjoying the calm atmosphere and listening to the birds. What really caught my attention here are the beautiful big trees. You can find them all over the city, but somehow in this park they feel especially charming. They create a special mood and make the whole place feel peaceful and inviting. The paths are covered with soft sand-like gravel, making them very pleasant for walking or jogging. Lush green grass and tall trees create plenty of shade, making this park a great place for a picnic or a quiet day outdoors.

La Concepcion is a charming bistro in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, offering a cozy and lively atmosphere with friendly staff. The restaurant serves inventive Spanish cuisine with ties to Canarian gastronomy, featuring a unique and varied menu including rice dishes, charcuterie boards, and tapas options. It's an ideal spot for both full meals or just enjoying a glass of wine.
This restaurant deserves a much higher score than it currently has! The menu is diverse and thoughtfully curated, offering dishes that are flavorful and far from the usual, boring options. The location is fantastic, and the ambiance is warm and inviting—a perfect spot for both casual dining and special occasions. Highly recommend! 👍

TLDR; great foods, high quality ingridients, friendly service, great atmosphere, a bit pricy, give their salmon salad a try! We actually went here a few times during our stay in Santa Cruz. I guess it already says a lot that we kept returning to La Concepcion :) The foods are amazing! Don't come here and expect to find traditional Tenerife/Canary foods. As they claim, their foods are of urban concepts. We can attest though that the execution is well done. The service is perfect. The few times we went there, everyone has been very welcoming, friendly, and facilitating. We usually went there around 6 or 7 PM and they always had seats for us immidiately. Overall, we can highly recommend this place! Though a bit pricey, but I think it's still fairly priced.

A table for one wasn't immediately available despite hardly any in use. By the end of the meal, I was virtually the only diner left. Despite this strange desire to keep the place empty, the salmon Salad and Tuna main dishes were very good... both with quirky and inventive twists. The setting is very historic, being right next to La Concepcion church and tower.

We had a good experience here, late at night. We stayed on the terrace because the weather was perfect, but inside (especially on 1st floor) looks very nice. The food was great, tasty, but the portions tend to be small. The only one which was generous was Paella, salad coming as a close second. The dessert was something I never had before, a lava cake with pistachios, along with vanilla ice cream. Please be aware they don't have menus in English, so be ready to translate if you don't know Spanish ☺.

Very nice restaurant. We had the ceviche as well as the salmon salad with avocado and kiwi. Both were excellent. We also tried the croquetas which tasted excellent. Finished this off with the cheesecake, excellent taste although it would be even better with a crusty salty bottom. The espresso macchiato was really nice, especially since we had been looking for a good coffee all day. Friendly waiter and quiet location. Recommended!

Street Food Comelon del Mercado is a budget-friendly eatery that offers generous servings and great value for money. While it's ideal for lunch, it can also be a satisfying option after a night out. One must-try item on their menu is the "parmesanas," which resembles a flattened, breaded chicken base pizza with various delicious toppings to choose from. The only drawback seems to be the presence of gritty potatoes.
American sandwich, great surprise! Yummy, Fulfilling, super tasty! Best of all? Because of the price, don't be afraid to ask for more. We'll definitely come back!

Big portions and great value. We came here for lunch but you'd probably enjoy it even more after a long night in the pub. When we saw "parmesanas" on the menu, we had to order one. It's a bit like a pizza, but the base is flattened, breadcrumbed chicken. There are a few different topping options and you basically can't go wrong. Downside - gritty potatoes.

Food was all right but they accused me of not paying for my meal, i.e. of stealing. One of the most overrated restaurants I have ever visited. Interior is tired, fake flowers are horrible tbh. Food was so-so: serve a warm prawn salad with super small prawns in a seafood restaurant disappointed us. Soup was large and full of seafood but I definitely cannot say it was tasty. Asked waiter for some still tapped water - got it in the bill. Really don't remember when I paid for the water from the tap last time. Another point is that some dishes such as omelette are served even if you don't ask for an then it is included into the bill too. Giving 3 stars only for super attentive waiters and fast food serving. Not worth its cost

This is not worth the money. Food is ok, but not more. I rearly make any evaluation, but this requires one. They advertising with Michelin recommend, witch should give some expertation... Even several recommendations... But the taste, presentation, service and environment is not more than an average restaurant. The cost is twice the price of value of the food. I'm sure the try there best, but that is not good enough. After my understanding they don't have the skills or knowledge to do. If you want to be ripped off... Go there. If not, find another restaurant. Just by crossing the street you will find much better...

We were very pleased when we got a table and looked forward to good seafood dinner. After having good oysters as starter we selected large crab from the water tank. Our waiter was very nice and good English speaking. When the crab dish came it was excessively salty and uneatable. when we complained were told that the salt being the taste of crab. So we went out hungry after paying 120 euro for the salt (crab). The manager did not take the time to come and speak to us. Not going again on our last night as we had intended.!

2 weeks ago three of us went there for dinner place is very old with lots of fake plants. overrated with only one person serving. We ordered 3 starters but were charged for 3 mains as well as our 3 mains - why would we order 6 mains between 3 people! clearly just out to make money from tourists. Not worth the money or the time.after we paid the full bill owner / chef came out and started threatning us and started shouting in spanish because he can not speak english. he behaved liked gangster. heshould be in prison .please avoid this place. we spent more then 225 euros for rubbish meal.

Day 3

Off the beaten path
For day 3, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Parque Rural de Anaga. Not quite as popular as Auditorio de Tenerife Adán Martín, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 7 hours.

Parque Rural de Anaga is a breathtaking 14,419-hectare nature park located in the far north of the island. This lush and rugged paradise is characterized by deep ravines, robust mountain ranges with sharp cliffs, and dense woodlands. The park is a biosphere reserve and boasts abundant vegetation, including laurisilva forests that thrive year-round due to the humid climate sustained by trade winds.
Beautiful place to visit for some hours. They have some great view points (miradors). You do not pay entrance fee and it is easy to reach by car or bus 273, 274, 275, 077 and 076. Exit at station Cruz Del Carmen or Los Batanes. There is a restaurant to buy some drinks or food in case you are thirsty or hungry.

We explored the Parque Rural de Anaga and hiked a fantastic 5-kilometer classic route! This park is truly special, boasting a remarkable variety of rare plant species. The northern, rainforest-like climate of Anaga is a striking contrast to the drier south of Tenerife, making for a unique and memorable experience. It's a must-visit for nature lovers and hikers!

I visited Aug 11, 2025 and all the trails were unfortunately closed by the parking lot. Instead I just visited the several view points in the area. Still very breathtaking but wish something was posted online. I suggest arriving before 9:30 if you want parking as it started to get a little busy after then

This is the most majestic place you'll ever visit. Please make time and go to this beautiful place if you're ever up north. Words cannot describe the enchantment walking along the many trails. Definitely coming back to visit

Easily the most magical spot on Tenerife. Feels like walking through a real-life fantasy movie — mist, ancient trees, green tunnels everywhere. Quiet, lush, atmospheric. Tips: Good shoes are a must (can get muddy). Bring a jacket — it’s much colder than the rest of the island. Take your time — Anaga isn’t for rushing. Absolutely recommended if you want to escape the crowds and reset your brain.
Leeway — Google review
Amazing walk throught the forest! Very beautiful views like this one on the photo! We were not dissapointed to stay here all day ! 😁 Bring some comfy shoes, a light jacket because It is a bit colder in the woods and that’s it. Enjoy the nature!!
Mario V — Google review
The area is a special natural environment with many clouds and fog that brings moisture to the forest of laurel trees, moss, and ferns. The trails are well maintained. There were many people in the area and parking lot was overflowing and and parked along the side of the road. Trails can be very steep. I was not aware that you could buy tickets.
Charles W — Google review
Beautiful and unusual park up in the Anaga Mountains. You can follow a guided hiking trail either with a map or an actual guide. There's an information center (where you get the map) and a restaurant near the parking lot. A few pointers: Bring hiking shoes. The ground is wet and muddy most of the time. Bring enough water. It's hot up there and the trail can be pretty demanding at times. There's no WiFi up there so you should do all your internet business before you go up. You can't call a cab either. If you didn't drive up by yourself then your only option is the bus.

If you're looking for a unique hiking experience in Tenerife, the Sendero de los Sentidos, or Trail of the Senses, is an absolute must. This enchanting trail winds through lush laurel forests and offers stunning viewpoints that will take your breath away. Originally a vital route connecting the historic villages of Anaga and La Laguna, this 1.3 km (0.8 miles) path is not only easy to navigate but also perfect for families with children.
An amazing scenic route, with breathtaking views all-around. There are longer hitchhiker trails as well, which lead to local places and I'm sure they're amazing as well. But this time we opted for the shorter one, still it was very fun and enjoyable, so I recommend it wholeheartedly. There are adapted paths in the middle of the forest, so it's quite easy to walk around even without trail footwear.
Nikša K — Google review
We took the los enigmas path and it was very beautiful. BUT there were not enough signs especially in cross paths. We ended up walking for 1 hour in the wrong path in the middle of nowhere, it was worth the view but still a bit dangerous if you don’t have any experience.
Anna — Google review
Magical, simply magical, is the exact word I would use to describe this impressive place, with beautiful nature, and very beautiful views. It is a place full of history and beauty that you should not miss if you visit Tenerife. Go warm because it is very cold and although the path is long and walking the body warms up, it is also very cold.
A. M — Google review
Wonderful viewpoint, plenty of trails around with different levels of difficulties, you can easily find one trail for everyone no matter the physical condition or age. Everything is so green and mysterious, very quiet and peaceful. Can be a bit muddy at some spots depending on how weather was in previous days. The humidity is higher due to the shadow anyways. Beautiful place!
Nadia M — Google review
Short and easy walk through forest. Fog made nice atmosphere... Accessible from nearby parking (which is often full)
Jaromír H — Google review
A very picturesque path through the trees. The terrain isn't too bad. The road is paved, with occasional wooden steps. The sensory points themselves are rather random, but this doesn't detract from the overall experience. The only problem is finding parking spots near the starting point. We had to descend all the way from Pico del Ingles. Avoid weekends during peak season. At the end of the path is a picturesque viewpoint.
Szurek — Google review
Beautiful place to go for a hike. Leave early the parking fills up. It’s also useful to bring a jacket, it can be chilly.
Mike L — Google review
Sendero de los Sentidos (Path of the Senses) is a very pleasant and relatively easy walk with beautiful views in the middle of the forest. Your senses will enjoy the smells, views, and sounds of nature. Unfortunately, the sounds also include ill-mannered tourists, who can be quite noisy and disturbing. However, people are also part of nature, so it can be accepted. The path consists of three sections, with increasing difficulty. The route is circular so the entrance is also exit. It is suitable also for children/older people. The route is not difficult, but I recommend wearing good shoes, bringing a drink, and having something to wear in case you feel cold in the shade of the trees. Parking here is quite an art at certain times of the day, so consider arriving by bus.

Museum of the History of Tenerife

Museum
The Museum of the History of Tenerife is a captivating destination that offers visitors a deep dive into the island's rich sociocultural tapestry, spanning from the 15th to the 20th century. Housed in a stunning 17th-century palace once owned by an Italian merchant, this museum showcases an impressive array of documents, artifacts, and religious relics that narrate the economic and cultural evolution of Tenerife.
Nice place. Easy to faind. Is a underground parking not far away from the museum. The entrance to the museum is 5e nice price for a bit of history of tenerife some days is free so you can chek the website for it.
Sonaahri D — Google review
Well done museum depicting the colonial history of Tenerife and the building itself, but lacks geological and archialogical history pre-dating the colonialism. There is an audio guide to fill in the details captured in each room. This museum is a good starting point when walking the historic district of La Laguna.
James K — Google review
A splendid local museum, it is very focused on regional history. Copies of documents denoting many important facts are displayed. The museum also contains information about the building, which is an exhibit on its own, and even traces the history of the family that owned it.
Krzysztof N — Google review
It’s a beautiful building and the staff were very helpful. The contents are presented without AV support and purely in Spanish, which is fine, but it did not live up to our hopes. Nevertheless, we had a fine time.
Ian P — Google review
I really enjoyed my visit to this museum. It's located in an old mansion, the Casa Lercaro, which is beautiful and worth seeing all on its own. The museum itself is a nice size—not too big, not too small—and gives you a really good overview of Tenerife’s history, from the 15th century right up to the modern day. The exhibits are well-organized and easy to follow, covering everything from the island's social and economic development to its cultural traditions. I especially liked the sections that showed what life was like in the past, with furniture and objects from different eras. It’s a great way to understand how the island and its people have changed over time. It's a perfect stop if you're already in La Laguna and want to learn more about the history of Tenerife without getting overwhelmed. Definitely recommend it!
Martina ( — Google review
The history of the places visited always complements the journey. Apart from tourism, Tenerife also has a centuries-old history that is worth getting to know by visiting this museum. Notice the beauty of the building's ornaments.
Lukasz T — Google review
Stayed South of the island and made a day trip to La Laguna. Beautiful part of the island to visit if you’re looking for culture and the museum was a must! The information provided was fascinating and id recommend any traveller travelling to La Laguna!
Samuel — Google review
The building is beautiful but the museum is like something out of the 1970s. Totally glosses over Tenerife's major role in the slave trade and the terrible treatment of the Guanche people. This is not the history of Tenerife, this is the history of the Spanish people who conquered Tenerife and who don't want to acknowledge their part in anything

Lovely stuff that speaks English. Distant but beautiful location with a nice and easy hike just behind the village. And the food... ou the food. We were blown away, we expected some small kitchen with basic options, but we could not be more wrong. We had a 3 course meal starting with a salad, that changed the meaning of the word salad for us. Main course - we had 3 different all equally delicious. And the dessert was as good as we could imagine. Portions were large, smiles honest and atmosphere charming. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Absolutely fantastic food! Very unexpectedly for this remote place. But when we visited this restaurant (Saturday afternoon), it was full of people, now we understand why. You need to have a cash or it is possible to make a bank transfer. Super nice view around. We would come back here again!

A very good french restaurant, in a romantic mountain area (where you can have a beautiful walk before eating.) Owner is also the kitchen chef. Large portions. Good side dishes and deserts. Worth the long and winding road to get there ;-) Make a reservation. Bring cash. Only Thu - Sun. Call for opening hours. Highly recommended.

French chef owns this restaurant. The menu changes daily. We were lucky to get a table as a result of last minute cancellation. Absolutely delicious food prepared with passion. Choices are based on a menu. Payment in cash only. An amazing find worth a visit, enjoying scenic views along the route.

French chef working with very good local ingredients. Nice salads included in menu for 18,50 euro. Big rations, full of locals enjoying the wines and beef Wellington. Great start for walks. Don’t let the somewhat scruffy outside fool you. Clean place, rich in food experience.

We stopped in this restaurant with my boyfriend to eat a little before we do the trek we planned. The staff was really nice and didn't have any problem with our idea to share the menu. We're really happy with the food and the desert was also delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant when visiting the area!

Spanish restaurant
Restaurante Bodegón Casa Tomás is a charming family-owned establishment in the north of Tenerife, offering a mix of local and Mediterranean cuisine. Established in 1997, it has gained popularity for its good quality and reasonable prices. The star dish here is the ribs with potatoes, green mojo, and pineapple, while other recommended options include escaldon as a starter and papas arrugadas.
Best ribs ever. You’ll never forget it. If you are in Tenerife it’s a must. If you don’t go you’ll regret it it. you’ll thanks me

the staff is nice and professional, the place seems very friendly. the food is mediocre unfortunately. the cheese wasnt salty and kind of tasteless. the croquetas were ok, the fries were terrible, soaking with oil and undercooked. the fish was tasteless, the cuttlefish was ok. the place was without windows so it was really depressing inside. i cannot recommend this place 😔
P J — Google review
Very traditional. Excellent value. Iconic Canarian dish (for 2) Costillas con papas y piñas (Pork ribs with potatoes and corncobs) Get there early or expect to queue.
Kenneth J — Google review
We visited the place lured in with the promise of great ribs. Reality verified our expectations though. Ribs themselves were very mediocre, simply boiled and not that rich in flavor. Potatoes that came with them were overcooked and bland. Also the portion recommended for 3 persons is not that big (if you in fact share it with 2 other people) so make sure to order something else as well if you're really hungry. The rest of the food we tried ranged from disappointing to decent. In general if you're looking for good meat (ribs included) there are probably better options. If you're looking for a good home-style meal there most definitely are better options around. The food here is not bad but it won't blow your mind either. Service was alright, so were the prices.
Mateusz K — Google review
Nothing special with the foods. Taste like home cooking. If you want to try local dishes that's fine. But it is not worth it to drive all the way to here.

Playa de Las Teresitas is a renowned man-made beach in Tenerife, featuring 1.5km of golden-colored sand imported from Africa. Surrounded by palm trees, it offers luxurious amenities such as loungers, umbrellas, showers, and restaurants. Located about 3 miles from Santa Cruz de Tenerife in the northern part of the island, this popular beach attracts locals and tourists alike.
Loved this beach, spent the day here and had everything we needed. The sand is so soft and water is so clear. Would definitely visit again. We got sun loungers at Cuncunpra (2 sun loungers & umbrella was €12), lunch here also which was delicious, staff are lovely and friendly.
Lucy T — Google review
Very nice beach, easily accessible, with a large parking lot. Bars/restaurants and toilets right on the beach. Thanks to the breakwaters and the gradual entry into the water, it is also suitable for families with small children. The disadvantage is the larger number of visitors, in the season it is really a lot of people
Jan T — Google review
A very nice beach with samd from Sahara, yellow golden colour. The water is clear and 100 metres in there is a wall of rocks that stops the waves, so even during strong winds, the water remains calm 👌
Velislav I — Google review
However original I would like to be, it is an excellent beach. It is not natural, but it fits the coastal view perfectly. I was amazed that despite being a super fancy beach with tons of parking and easily accessible from a vibrant capital, it’s really laid-back and relaxed, with lots of natural shade, enough facilities for everyone, etc. The sea bottom is empty, but the ships waiting in the roadstead on the horizon compensate for that.
Krzysztof N — Google review
Playa de las Teresitas is a picturesque destination, accessible via both a car and public transit. Its close proximity to the city center makes it an ideal spot for visitors. The extensive shoreline provides ample capacity, ensuring a comfortable experience for all. Amenities include natural shade provided by rows of palm trees, complemented by available sun loungers and umbrellas, which are typically offered at a modest daily rate (e.g., two sun loungers and an umbrella for approximately €6). The waters were calm and warm, when we visited, which created an outstanding swimming environment. Turning inland from the vast blue ocean, visitors are afforded a serene, dramatic view of the nearby mountains, which often appear veiled in clouds above the palm-lined foothills. Furthermore, the beach provides adequate, though modest, restroom and changing room facilities. There are bars where you can get something to drink or eat.
Martina V — Google review
The sand is from Sahara. Yellow and golden, the water is clear and your've got rocks further down to block the waves off so the water stays flat during the wind. Its a great place
Veli — Google review
Absolutely beautiful beach and a must-visit in Tenerife! Playa de Las Teresitas stands out with its golden Sahara sand, calm turquoise waters, and scenic mountain backdrop. It’s much more inviting than the usual black-sand beaches on the island. The water is clear and shallow, protected by a breakwater — perfect for swimming and great for kids. There’s plenty of space, so it never feels too crowded. Free parking is available and public buses run often from Santa Cruz, just 10 minutes away. You’ll find a few great beach bars serving mojitos, fresh seafood, and snacks at good prices. Facilities like showers and restrooms are clean and convenient. With palm trees, stunning views, and a relaxed atmosphere, this is the perfect place to spend the day. Definitely one of Tenerife’s top beaches. Highly recommended!

Hiking Trails
Bosque Encantado (La Ensillada) - El Pijaral is a magical hike through the laurel forest, also known as the 'Enchanted Forest.' To access this enchanting experience, visitors must obtain one of the 45 permits available per day. The trail takes about two and a half hours to complete and offers stunning views of the surrounding area. It's important to make reservations in advance, as permits are quickly claimed.
Absolutely stunning hike — the views are out of this world! You do need a permit, so be sure to plan ahead. The trail is doable if you're moderately fit; we completed it in about 2 hours and 45 minutes with a few short breaks. Make sure to pack enough water and wear good hiking shoes — some sections are narrow and can get quite slippery. Overall, a beautiful and rewarding experience!
Romy N — Google review
You need a permit for the trail, it is free. It s a magical place, very beautiful and it makes you reconnect with nature. It leades to a viewpoint where you can see the whole valley if you are lucky enough to avoid mist. EXTREMELY muddy, hiking shoes are a must. It can be slippery at some points. I don t think it is for everyone, but If you feel like it is for you, pack some warm clothes. Worth the visit!
Ioanananana — Google review
I strongly suggest you to get you to get the permit a few days before, depending on the demand, the permit is free, but if you don't have it, you may get a fine/ticket. Make sure you wear the proper shoes since parts of the path are very muddy and slippery. The entrance is indicated with signs. Make sure you don't lose the view to the sea from the edge of some parts of the track, they are easy to identify, because people do it all the time and you can see the marks on the ground. Enjoy and stay safe.

Beautiful trail with stunning views!😍 You need a permit, be sure to get it in advance!
Maja K — Google review
If you haven't been here, you can't comprehend what a wonderful world we live in. Be aware that you need a special permit to enter the forest. The only way to obtain it is by applying online on the website. There are only 45 permits released daily, applications open at 7am (Tenerife time) and they last usually for about 5 to 7 minutes. You need to organize this application 2 weeks before your trip.
Giovanni C — Google review
This is the best path I have ever seen 🖤 it’s just astonishing. The misty weather, the trees that were leaning one onto each other, the birds singing around, the entire atmosphere seemed like a fairy tale. ‼️ you can use this path only with a special permit which might be a bit tricky to get; totally worth it ❤️
Alexandra T — Google review
Unbelievably beautiful hike! Otherworldly! It took us about 2,5 hours and it was pretty easy to do. It can get slippery when it rains a lot, wear good shoes. When you get to the road, the path continues in the forest on your right.
Floor B — Google review
Truly a fantastic experience:-) We had the right mountain weather with clouds and fog and visited the path in the later afternoon. Please make the reservation. The circle path via “magical forest” took us around two and a half hours. Also, driving from Santa Cruz is an experience itself. I did a circular route via Cruz del Carmen, with many miradors (del Ingles is the best one). Take good shoes. The path in the magical forest is slippery due to the high moisture. Parking in the afternoon was without any trouble

The Historical Military Museum of the Canary Islands, located in Santa Cruz, Tenerife, offers a fascinating exploration of the military history of the region. Situated in several buildings, this museum provides insights into the military heritage of Tenerife and the Canary Islands. With free admission, it's a great way to spend time while learning about the area's past.
Excellent museum, for kids and adults. Worth escaping from the hotels and discover the fascinating history of the Spanish Military. We even had lunch , really nice as well. Free parking! The person explaining the museum (Eduardo Sabina) also 5 stars, the passion explaining each single detail was amazing.

Located on the outskirts of the city, but easy to reach (bus 920 leaves you 50m from the museum). Housed in an old fort, built in 1884. Not very big, arranged on two floors of the main building and in a few other rooms in an adjacent building. You can see weapons starting with the old ones and up to the modern ones, old flags, uniforms, military decorations, models of old warships, different types of ammunition. There are several military vehicles in the inner courtyard, including two tanks and two helicopters. An interesting museum, with free entry. You need 60-90 minutes to visit it. There is also a small cafe with a pretty nice view.
Paul C — Google review
The place has free entry and documents part of the military history of Spain outside the Iberian Peninsula. It has wonderful models of Santa Cruz and its military infrastructure at the time of Nelson's attack. The only minus point was the bizarre, young man at the reception, who refused to open the display case containing books for purchase, unless I guaranteed up front that I would buy one. He also didn't happen to have any change.
Miguel R — Google review

Free military museum on the outskirts of the city. For a free museum there is actually quite a lot of things to look at, spread across many buildings. There's weapons, cannons, vehicles and a whole host of dioramas, flags and other artefacts. If you like military museums, this would be right up your street.

A must visit if you love museums and history. It has a very good collection of arms and weapons used at various times of centuries. I have never seen such a good museum with arms. It has tanks, helicopters and other vehicles used by the army. It has a very good presentation of defeating the British army sometimes in the 17th century. It is free of charge and worthy to give donations.

This old theatre is a great place to see performances of all kinds, including classical and operatic works. The theater's social distancing means that seats are in high demand, so it's best to book ahead.
Very nice and old fashioned theatre in the centre of Santa Cruz city. Great variety of quality shows and performances. Good covid safety protocols. I attended few theatrical pieces and enjoyed them quite much. I'd recommend anyone interested in the scenic arts to check their website.

A charming theatre on a lovely square. Worth visiting as there’s often performances outside.

Beautiful old theatre with regular performances even during the coronavirus pandemic. Careful social distancing means the number of seats available is very limited so important to book in advance.

Casa del Carnaval is a museum in Santa Cruz de Tenerife that showcases the vibrant costumes worn during the annual carnival. The gallery space features video exhibits and even offers dress-up opportunities for kids. Visitors can also opt for a touristic train option, which includes a 45-minute train tour of the capital along with a free visit to Casa del Carnaval. Additionally, there are bus excursions available that provide access to emblematic places, museums, and various streets in the city.
A fun little museum in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Entrance is free, all you do is give a name and country of residence (for statistics). It shows the history of the carnival and the very garnish costumes. So I definitely recommend!

Perfect place to learn about second biggest carnival in the world ❤️ perfectly shown exhibitions, lots of historical photos and posters, amazing music and movies from previous carnivals 💚 and the crew - those people loooooove what they do and radiates positive energy and spreads love to everyone who enters. Entry is free so there's no excuse not to visit! ❤️💚💜
Grzegorz M — Google review
Worth the short walk and free entry, amazing costumes and framed posters of Tenerife's Carnival.
Ian G — Google review
I would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area. We spent about 1 hour here and it's free! We were greeted by two friendly young men who were happy to share their knowledge of the carnival. We were so inspired we are already planning another trip to S/C during the festivities. Thank you for having a wonderful place for others to learn about this exciting event! The costumes are awe-inspiring!
Heather S — Google review
I really liked the place! So much beauty around there:) and the most fun part was trying on some costumes, I highly recommend.
Diana L — Google review
Cool place to visit for free that showcases a variety of Carnaval costumes. An costumes area to try on and take photos.
Joseph L — Google review
Only spotted this on Maps while having a coffee in town. ITS FREE. Absolutely mind blowing that we need to call back when the carnival is on, usually 40 days before Easter. Biggest carnival in the world. A great credit to the organisers for allowing us to get up close to these superb costumes.

Free entry, friendly staff, beautiful settings. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Tenerife NOT during the carnival time.

Nestled in a charming neighborhood, Restaurante Guannabí offers a delightful dining experience that beautifully marries traditional Canarian cuisine with an inviting atmosphere. The restaurant boasts a lovely terrace and retains its historical charm, featuring original pillars and handcrafted plates that add to its unique character. Guests rave about the menu, which highlights delectable rice dishes like meat paella for two and popular options such as Ropa Vieja and tuna.
Highly recommended, I'll be back for sure. The quality of the food is noticeable, the croquettes tasted great and our favourite plate of food, the meat. Dessert was a delicious cheesecake. We ordered following the recommendations of the staff, who were always very helpful and attentive. The place is beautiful and very good value for money.
Mary M — Google review
The food is mediocre. We were four people and nobody finished his dish. Chipirones were burnt and therefore very bitter. 8 euros for bread which wasn’t even fresh is a robbery 🙈 we left the place feeling like we wasted our money for nothing. Definitely not recommended
Lena S — Google review
Restaurant Guannabí serves traditional food prepared in its own unique style. Here, I had the best croquettes made from cured ham in my life. I also recommend trying the Caesar salad flavored with Dijon mustard. The environment is peaceful, free from cars. Inside, the restaurant has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Mikko N — Google review
Very nice restaurant. The service was nice and attentive. Steak was very delicious, although you receive it after a short time on the grill so if you like the steak less bloody then you get a hot stone plate to finish the steak to your liking.

Nice environment, great food and nice people working here. Pedro is very helpful and nice, the restaurant is English speaking friendly as well! 5 star recommend!

Great restaurant for every occasion from dinner dates to family meals. The staff was very nice and accommodating, the kitchen looked clean and so did the bathroom. Although it was busy we never had empty plates on the table for more than a few minutes and the service was done in great time! The food was nice and plated with taste. The atmosphere and decorations were lovely!

Food is very delicious. Portions are good. Service is on a slower side although all waiters are very nice and attentive. We keep on coming back, guannabi is one of our favorite restaurants in Santa Cruz. Sorry I was only able to get a picture of the bread, everything else was so delicious I completely forgot to take pictures 🙂

Had this place recommended to me by friends and several guide books / articles on the island. My experience did not live up to the hype in the slightest. Having now tried several other restaurants on the island, I’m convinced the place must pay for articles to recommend them. The food was fine - nothing wrong with us but pretty basic and bland. Particularly disappointing was the service. My partner and I speak very little Spanish but we tried our best to order in Spanish. The waiter was extremely rude. Ignored us several times, deliberately looked away as we ordered, and it felt like he made a deliberate effort not to understand any of our questions just to not have to answer us. Shame on you for treating paying clients like this, if you read my review you should consider a new profession handing out parking tickets as that will more closely match the attitude you gave us. The general restaurant staff was not nice either. We showed us 10 minutes early for our reservation and they refused to seat us (more than half of restaurant was empty still) and when we came back at the time of our booking they made a fuss that our table was not ready so we should come back again in 15 minutes this time. When we did, they sat us at a table that had been empty since we first stopped by 25 mins before that.

Hamburguesería Herchi is not your typical fast food joint; it offers delicious, carefully crafted burgers made with natural ingredients and a lot of love. What sets this place apart is its late-night opening hours, making it a perfect spot to satisfy those post-wandering hunger pangs. The friendly staff, who speak excellent English, add to the welcoming atmosphere. In addition to their tasty burgers, they also offer options for vegetarians.
Supppper tasty! We had late night sandwiches both nights we were in Santa Cruz. Speak very good English and super friendly and nice❤️ popular among locals. There are options for vegetarians ;)

Definitely best food bar in Santa Cruz. You have to wait a little in the queue and then for your number to be called, but then you get a really fast food service. The food itself is super tasty and for a reasonable price. Looking forward to another visit!

Unusual place to have burger, it is not your usual burger king trash, it is delicious, made with love, only natural ingredients burger. The one more advantage of this place is time of work, they are open till night so if you are tired, after a long day of wandering around, this spot will be your savior :)
Paul M — Google review
Very nice and tasty street food. Don't expect amazing quality meat or anything, but an overall tasty food nonetheless. Cheap and very friendly. No sitting - either eating standing up, or takeaway.
Misha S — Google review
Surprisingly, it's not about the meat. The "Americana mixta" hamburger (3.20€) offers a local flavor of grilled cheese as well as fried bacon, vegetables and more surprises in one huge tall hamburger which combines so well with the sauces inside that the result feels as if it is melting in your mouth. Not only that these hamburgers are really cheap compared to others in Europe and even in the island, but also they are really, REALLY, good. Don't skip it.

Restaurante La Posada del Pez is a must-visit for those looking for an extensive dining experience. The restaurant offers refined dishes prepared with various techniques using the finest local ingredients. It is known for its elegant ambiance and proximity to the city center. The professional staff ensures excellent and friendly service, while the wine cellar and dessert options are highly praised. With its reputation as one of the best local restaurants in town, it's advisable to make reservations in advance due to its popularity.
Authentic Spanish food with a lot of locals. We were able to get a table without wait and without a reservation, but the restaurant filled up fast, so I would recommend making a reservation beforehand. We had the steak with fries which was perfect. If you’re a wine fan, there are definitely endless choices here for you. The service was fast and efficient.

We had a fabada soup with clams and shrimps, and a sirloin with garlic sauce. Both were very delicious. It’s was the first time I had fabada soup. I was very impressed by the flavor and happy I did try it.

Local food in authentic settings. Service is efficient but not so "interaction". Food is great and clearly not a turist place. Lost of local visiting.

Lovely traditional restaurant near Heritage Grand Mencey Hotel. We didn't book, it was busy but they found us a table. Impressive wine selection. Mainly locals eating I would say. Food was freshly cooked and good. The desert was to die for. Recommend!

Having read all the good reviews we were expecting a bit more. The food was good, but not incredible. The service was not very charming and a smile would have been appreciated. All in all we ate well, but didn't leave with a highlt satisfied overall experience.

I don't want to be a party popper, but this was not 5* to me. Just ok. I've just experienced much better taste elsewhere on Tenerife. Service and seating was nice.

One of the most famous Asturian restaurant in town and it deserves. Elegant place close to the city center. My favorite cow meat with Cabrales cheese. Professional staff. Great wine cellar. Leave room to enjoy the desserts.

Restaurant
Etéreo by Pedro Nel is a modern and cozy restaurant located in the lively area of El Toscal, on San Antonio Street. The Colombian chef, Pedro Nel Restrepo, brings his Latin American influence to the traditional Spanish cuisine with a touch of Canary Islands flavors. The menu offers innovative twists on classic dishes such as empanadilla de carne with sriracha sauce and cherne with sweet potato or wild sea bass with warm vinaigrette and capers.
This restaurant is simply the best in the town! The service was fast and the food was excellent. Klaus was super helpful to us and answered all of our questions patiently. We ordered croquetas, ceviche and empanadas as starters. We had sirloin steak, lamb shoulder and salmon as main courses. All of them were cooked to perfection. We tried what an egg, fluffy hazelnut and cheesecake as dessert. Everything we ordered was extremely tasty. Definitely worth a visit!
Irem D — Google review
We booked a table 24 hours in advance, came 30 minutes in advance and we were kindly seated at our table. Varied menu, friendly service, large wine list (not even a card, but a book). We ordered a steak with medium roasting, we guessed it with roasting, unfortunately they don’t make flat white coffee, it’s strange, of course, they make ordinary coffee, even without latte art, although I thought it would be good coffee. Interesting presentation of desserts. I would have come again.
Denys V — Google review
Visiting this restaurant was a great choice. We ate the best steak we ever had and the wine and dessert were amazing as well. What makes this place special is the outstanding service. Especially Manuel did a great job, as he recommended us meals exactly according our expectations. He can perfectly describe every meal in the menu to the detail which is something not happening often. Highly recommended!
Natália A — Google review
Food was impeccable and service by all staff members outstanding. Highly recommended for one of the top food experiences in Tenerife. If there's anything to improve it would be the lighting - too much "cold light". Having "warm" spots over every table would go a long way.
Mirco M — Google review
Food was generally very good and a little pricy but the service was very weird and also quite slow even by Spanish standards. They confusingly are trying to be fine dining with the way there's a bonus amuse bouche croqueta and occasional folding of napkins for you, but for most guests this is just a high end steakhouse so there is no need to primp. The service was really pushing me to order alcohol... several times. Did not find that enjoyable. I ordered the solomillo with cheese sauce. Tasty but a small portion. The lemon and brownie dessert was well priced though and tasty. the citrus really came through and went well with the chocolate flavor. I dont know though... more than 50€ for the amount of food you see here. Felt like something was missing. Atmosphere is appropriate. There are big refrigerator cases of steak and a well stocked and colorful bar. The seating is a bit funny so depending where your table is, you might be right up close with other guests.
Mackers — Google review
The food was very good, as it should be for the price. But the service and atmosphere didn’t match it entirely. The tables and decorations were all crammed into a rather small restaurant making you feel like you share your table with 3 different groups. And depending on which water came by sometimes we were asked if we needed anything sometimes our empty drinks were taken away and that was that for the rest of the night. From halfway through the night we just sat there with empty glasses
Philipp M — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous restaurant, delicious food, attentive staff. They have a great and big selection of wines and cocktails too. They give you a mini appetizer on the house, the lava cake is very good. Do not miss this restaurant when visiting Santa Cruz 😍

Fantastic meal in Santa Cruz. I was initially thinking this would be a steak restaurant but we were very pleasantly surprised to have our expectations exceeded. Very good cocktails, original dishes and attentive staff made this a meal to remember! Special thanks to Manuel who was very helpful throughout the night!
