Loro Park, located in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife, is a beautifully landscaped zoo that offers an impressive variety of animal attractions. The park is renowned for its extensive collection of parrots and hosts classic shows featuring these colorful birds. Additionally, visitors can enjoy dolphin shows and witness the majesty of killer whales in action.
I recently had the chance to visit Loro Parque in Tenerife, and I have to say—it completely exceeded my expectations. From the moment we walked in, it was clear this wasn’t just another zoo; it’s a beautifully maintained, world-class conservation park that truly cares about the animals and the visitor experience. It’s absolutely worth arriving right when the park opens. The early hours are quieter, cooler, and give you a head start on the most popular attractions and shows before the crowds arrive. We managed to enjoy a peaceful stroll through the park and even caught the first show of the day with no lines.

Amazing Day at Loro Parque! Loro Parque is absolutely incredible – a must-visit! There’s so much to see and do, and the animals are clearly very well cared for. The enclosures are spacious, beautifully designed, and give you great views without ever feeling overcrowded for the animals. Everything felt clean, organised, and really well maintained. The dolphin and orca shows were a real highlight – absolutely amazing and definitely a must-see while you’re there. They were professional, fun, and showed off the animals’ intelligence and beauty in such a memorable way. There’s plenty to keep you entertained all day, from the variety of animals to the shows and the little details around the park that make it special. The only downside is that food on site is a bit pricey – but that’s the same in most attractions and didn’t take away from how fantastic the experience was. Overall, a beautiful park, well worth the visit, and somewhere I’d happily return to again!

Got tickets online earlier as they're discounted, easy to park in their nice underground car park (7 euro). Well worth a visit, clean, accessible, plenty of clean toilets and food outlets which were reasonably priced. It's very clear that your entrance fee and any profits go towards animal welfare and conservation, which is great to know. Get to the Orca, sea lion and dolphin shows early for the beat seats, avoid the front if you want to stay dry, but that's part of the fun. Sea lions were our favourite 🦭. The fish tank displays are brilliant and absolutely massive! 🐟 🐠 The gardens and fauna are amazing! 🌟 ⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟 🦭🐬👏👏👏👏

Loro Parque is very unique. To call it a zoo would not do it justice. You can tell as you walk through the park that the staff really care about the place. They are constantly cleaning and maintaining the grounds, and the interactions with the animals at the shows are really impressive. You can tell there is a lot of trust between the handlers and their animal coworkers. Beyond that, the rare and endangered animals they have are too many to list. My wife and I had a great time and even made friends with a beautiful Pasquels Parrot. Highly recommend visiting! I recommend at least 5 hours to see everything, and bring good walking shoes as there are slopes and slippery sections.
Ryan — Google review
Loro Parque is an exceptional experience, and exceeded our expectations. We attended all the shows and each show showed us the true beauties of these animals. We also got the beautiful feeling that each and every staff really love and care for these animals and it adds to the beauty of the experience. The whole park is exceptionally well kept and when you read around the park and listen to all the information when attending the shows, you realise how much the park really does and it makes you really appreciate the experience even more. We actually spent 6+ hours here and we still felt we could of stayed longer. We visited the Orca show twice as we needed to get splashed 😆 🤣. My favourite show was the Sea Lions but that's not to say that the Dolphins, Parrots & Orca's weren't worth the watch even if you want to watch them twice lol.
Sjcartier L — Google review
Absolutley stunning experience at Loro Parque. We arrived there early ( booked our tickets as twin with Siam Park ) and there was no waiting ( went here on a Saturday ). The park is very clean and well maintanined, facilities are clean, plenty of areas to grab a "snack" but some of the prices are a bit on the high. The shows are all super super entertaining, but as you can imagine packed so I suggest you plan to get to every show 20 min early to get a good spot to view. The Treetops where the birds ( parrots ) are was a great highlight you can see them up close. The shows are all very educational and entertaining focused, the kids loved it. We rented a car to get there as stayed in Costa Adeje, the short trip from there was crossing over hills, so on the way back we went the other way ( north airport way ) and it was all motorway much more enjoyable drive. There was planty of parking when we arrived. ( 8£ for parking all day there but was safe and underground parking as well )

A beautiful ZOO with a unique atmosphere. If you haven't seen killer whales you must visit this place. It is monumental. There is small Teno still feeding itself from mom. The birds are shining in all the colors. There is also a beautiful aquarium and a penguin world with a real snow. I bet there is a lot of people in weekends. Even during the week you have to come early to the shows because it is getting full and they won't let you in anymore. The buffets are very crowded as well. If you have small kids ve sure to take one snacks with you.
BÁRA — Google review
I loved the orcas show! Lovely place. Animals appear well looked after and seem to have a bond with their humans. Only thing i could complain about is it is not very well laid out and despite dozens of signs we still ended up getting lost multiple times! Other than that its brilliant

The Municipal Market of Puerto de la Cruz is a lively shopping destination that offers a variety of goods and local products. Situated in the largest resort in Tenerife, this market features clothing shops, vendors selling meat, produce, and prepared foods. Visitors can explore the biweekly market held in the town's mercado building and surrounding streets to discover an array of items including food and drink from local farmers, antiques, chic clothes, and household items.
Not overly crowded mall /supermarket with various stores under one roof. Includes a chemist, fruit and veg stores, coffee shops, food outlets, electronics, clothes, etc. Convenient to get around as it is compact. Bright and clean.

A variety of shops with some selling local produce. The market is open weekly Wednesday and Saturday from 10 am until 2pm with a handicraft market on Sundays also from 10 until 2pm. The shops inside are open every day. Onside car park.

Lovely indoor and outdoor flea market. Outside the shopping centre and located on the top carpark open on sat 8-2 and Wednesday.

We attended the Sunday 'flea' market. The equivalent of an English jumble sale or car boot. Interesting mix of stalls, selling used items intermingled with craft stalls. Not to mention the most unique one man band!
Jason C — Google review
if only we had a social sense in England, we would have places like this. busy with shoppers, stall holders from collectables to flee market to hyperstore plus many more. Butcher, fishmongers bars, cafes, restaurants. And people talking to each other.

Visited here on holiday. Not woth it. Old worn out stuff outside. Jumble sale. Inside a few stalls and shops. Got a coffee upstairs. It just wasn't worth the walk there. Not really much to buy. Very disappointed. Would not bother again. There a bus which you can get. Takes you to a different market. Went last year But didn't get a chance this time round. Don't waste yr time going here. 😕

Very lively square. Lots of activities, bars and restaurants. Today we had a show prepared by Asian kids. Very adorable and interesting. Besides, the carnival has started so maybe that is why there are so many people? Streets around the square are busy with people. Everybody wants to be there and have a bite or pint. In the middle of the square there is a nice restaurant where you can enjoy every meal. Breakfast for a start

Busy place, locals and tourists go there for food and to hangout. A bit overpriced in my opinion. Something to see.

Nestled in the heart of Puerto de la Cruz, Sitio Litre Garden is a captivating botanical haven that boasts an impressive history spanning over 220 years. As the oldest garden in Tenerife, it features a stunning array of lush flora, including the island's largest collection of orchids and the magnificent dragon tree, which is over 300 years old. Visitors can stroll through this enchanting space while enjoying its serene fish pond and delightful café.
A Hidden Gem in the City! We discovered this hidden gem of a botanical garden and were pleasantly surprised. The entrance fee was only €4.50, and the garden turned out to be much larger than expected and very well-maintained. We also enjoyed a drink—a coffee, a water, and a delicious double bruschetta with extra cheese—all for just €9.50 in total. Truly a must-visit spot to relax and unwind right in the heart of the city. Highly recommended!

This orchid garden looks small but its not! It is filled with beautiful plamts and romantical hedges and arches. You can also find some history and art on the walls about this garden. You can feed koi fish, you can see birds and you can do a workshop painting. The orcids might be in pots, but they are lovely still. It is completely worth the price, only 5 euros for the complete access of this garden. If you walk by, just go in! Its so worth it, really cute cultural experience

I went expecting to get a real sense of the botanical vibrancy of the Canary Islands and instead found a monument to the colonial influence of the British elite with only a handful of native plants. There was no reference to this historical context, aside from a sign outside (not in affiliation with the garden). My other observation was that there was a very limited variety of orchids, I could only spot one or two species and they were the same ones you see in the supermarket. The garden has a real potential to educate tourists on the colonial significance of the space along side its beauty (as it really was stunning) and I would love to encourage that with this review!

Nice place to visit not too far from the main hotels and resorts area. Impressive collection of orchids and local trees and plants, you can feed the fishes or pet the owners cats that meet you at the entrance. 4.25€ entrance per adult.

A small botanical garden, with all kinds of plants. Orchids are not nearly as numerous as the name suggests. There is also a small pond with koy carp, it's quiet, a relaxed atmosphere. Neat, you can see that someone is constantly taking care of the maintenance. I visited it the first hour after opening, 10:00, and it was not crowded at all.

Lovely English style park, very homely, traces of old age and rare things preserved. The people who work there are very hospitable, the avenue of achids is very impressive. I felt like I was in the park of an English lord and his wife, who makes the park cosy. I recommend it to those who like peace and nature.

Absolutely beautiful, well kept place with a lovely little cafe at the bottom of the garden. The orchids are very impressive.

Bambi Gourmet is a top restaurant in Puerto de la Cruz, offering a diverse menu of Romanian dishes paired with fine wines. Located near Martianez Lake, this casual-chic venue is known for its excellent reputation and meticulous, creative presentation of national and international dishes made with high-quality ingredients. It's a great choice for those looking to experience artistically presented cuisine in a polished yet relaxed setting. With affordable prices and delightful desserts, it's definitely worth a visit while staying in the region.
Such an amazing food and service at this restaurant. We found it by chance, came for lunch and would come again. It's a family owned restaurant with very creative but tasty dishes and great wine selection. The owner is very friendly and charming. A must visit place .

Very chic decor. The staff were very friendly. We had goulash, stuffed vine leaves, and an eggplant dish. It was nicely plated and tasted good. They have a cute little robot that helps with the serving. My Romanian friend who was with me really liked the food, so it is authentic.
Valiant D — Google review
One of the best dining experiences I had dinner at Bambi Gourmet tonight and I can honestly say the food was exceptional. The veal goulash was the best I’ve ever had — full of flavor, tender meat, and perfectly balanced spices. The risotto with duck was incredibly creamy and rich, and the starters with aubergine were beautifully presented. For dessert, I had Chocolime and Passion Mango — both light, fresh, and the perfect ending to an unforgettable meal. The service was warm and professional, and it felt special to see such passion behind every dish. Thank you to the team for creating such a memorable experience — I’ll definitely come back!

This was definitely my best culinary experience during the whole stay in Tenerife. Food was exquisite and served in an interesting way. I am not a gourmet eater, but we were totally enamoured by this lovely place and its owners. Fantastic selection of both food and wine! The place is a bit expensive but the price tag is totally deserved and, at the same time you can choose less pricy options too. 100% recommend! We ate salmon mango starter with a lot of weird stuff :) then, for main course my girfriend got lamb roast that was one of the best I've ever tasted and I chose dry-aged steak, also done in a much better way than I can ever prepare. We finished this excursion with mango-passion fruit dessert that was also great. Do yourself a favour and go eat here!

Fantastic food and wine, but not without some flaws My dinner at Bambi Gourmet was a fantastic culinary experience, but considering the €140 price tag for one person (including tip), I feel it's fair to be a bit critical. Starter: I started with the hand-cut Bellota Iberian ham, which was excellent—intensely flavorful, nutty, and perfectly cured. A highlight was the delicious herb-infused olive oil on the table, perfect for dipping bread. A great and authentic way to start the meal. Main Course: The absolute highlight was the dry-aged entrecote. A nice touch was that I got to choose my own cut of meat (575 grams in my case). The steak was fantastic in flavor, well-grilled, and rich thanks to the dry-aging process. Minor issue: There was a tendon in the meat, which some guests might find tough. Personal preference: A sauce was added without prior notice, which I personally found unnecessary, as the steak was flavorful enough on its own. Wine Pairing: The Majuelo de Callejo 2020 (Ribera del Duero) was an excellent choice. Its deep fruit notes, well-balanced oak, and structured tannins complemented the entrecote perfectly. A spot-on pairing. Ambiance & Service: The interior has a premium feel, but the atmosphere felt a bit cold and lacking warmth. The service was handled by one person, who was very knowledgeable but somewhat distant and slightly arrogant. That being said, he was working hard, managing all tables on his own. Fun detail: They have a robot assisting with food service, which was a unique and modern touch. Price & Conclusion: At €140 (for one person, including tip), you expect not just great food but an overall premium experience. The entrecote and wine were absolutely fantastic, but the ambiance and service could have been a bit more inviting and personal. Final rating: 4/5 stars – Excellent food and wine, but for the price, a few things could be improved to create a truly outstanding experience.

The best restaurant we’ve visited in Tenerife! So happy to find such tasty vegan options - it’s usually so hard to come across good ones on the island. The vegan risotto and mushroom ratatouille were absolutely delicious! My husband had the lamb moussaka, and it was amazing too. And you have to try their desserts - they’re so unique and full of flavor!

We went to Bambi Gourmet for lunch and were absolutely amazed by the food, every dish was delicious and beautifully prepared. The highlight was Vampiavocado, a unique dessert that’s definitely worth trying. A perfect final touch to an incredible meal. 100% recommend!

Really good food here and many local also visit here 🥰 The dessert is a must try! It is super creative and delicious 😋 We came twice during our one week visit and tried out three different kind of dessert. Have to say the mango passion is my favorite. If you love fruit and fresh taste overall, go for that! And also the chocolate combination is awesome 🤩

El Taller de Seve Diaz is a stylish Mediterranean-inspired restaurant located in the picturesque town of Puerto de la Cruz, known for its volcanic-sand beaches in northwest Tenerife. The restaurant offers tasting menus, seasonal plates, and a selection of Canarian wines. Run by renowned chef Seve Diaz and his sister Lily, the open kitchen allows guests to witness the creation of imaginative Mediterranean cuisine using high-quality seasonal produce.
Superb food. Best meal without a star I have had for over a year. I rated four course at two stars or maybe more. At some point somebody at Michelin will come to their senses. Need to book three months in advance, now you know why…

We had the pleasure of dining at this fine restaurant on two separate evenings. After our first visit, we were so impressed that we knew we had to return once more before our departure — and we were able to do so two days later. On both occasions, we chose the six-course tasting menu. With the exception of the amuse-bouche and one dessert, the menus were different each time. They included two starters, two main courses, and two desserts, all for €65. We were thoroughly impressed by the creativity of each dish, and every course was a delight in terms of flavor. The service was also excellent — each dish was carefully explained to us in detail. One small suggestion for improvement: it would be nice to have the menu written down somewhere, so that guests can later recall and appreciate what they had the pleasure of enjoying. All in all, a highly recommended experience.

unforgettable dining experience! We were so grateful that the manager and team were able to find us a last-minute reservation it truly felt like a gift. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, and the chefs are simply artists. Every dish was like a performance, beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious for me, the food is a true 10/10. The atmosphere is elegant and calm, maybe even a bit too quiet for my personal taste, but still very refined. If you’re in Tenerife, make sure to book in advance so you don’t miss the chance to experience it. Thank you so much to the whole team for giving us such a memorable evening!

Outstanding restaurant in Puerto de la Cruz. From start to end, all has been amazing. Very friendly and knowledgable staff that show a real passion for food & wine. We took the 6 course surprise dinner including a wine pairing. Very rich flavours in all dishes & the wine pairing consisted of only national wines. We felt we even got more quality then what we paid for, well done!

Exceptional food and dining experience. Each course excelled at highlighting the wonderful ingredients Tenerife has to offer. The care the chefs had through each individial dish that was served was out of this world. From start to finish every dish was a new and different flavour explosion. Front of house team delivered the passion in each dish with a warm and welcoming explanation of what was served along side their charasmatic and charming personalities. Thanks again for a night we won't forget.

Gluten-free options available when booking online. Enjoy delicious dishes with the true taste of the island! As someone who grew up as Chicharrera (Tenerife islander), I can say this modern interpretation of Canarian cuisine is sublime. I’ll definitely be coming back soon🌟

Very very good. The food is exceptional excellent. No idea why this restaurant has no Michelin star (maybe to some incomprehensible rules of Michelin). Especially the "Egg at low temperature" is a very creative composition. I would even think to travel again to Tenerife to eat here again...
Christian S — Google review
The food was excellent and accompanied by detailed explanations for each of the 11 courses. The lamb and tuna taco were really delicious. We weren't particularly keen on the prawn dish, but it was interesting and well-executed. The first few courses came out quite quickly, but we had a long drive back to the South after dinner, so didn't mind this too much. The only real misstep was serving a peanut petit four with our coffee when we had made clear (on the day and in advance) that one of us had a peanut allergy. The meal was still enjoyable, but this part of the service needs some attention

The Botanical Garden in Puerto de la Cruz, also known as Jardin Botanico de Aclimatacion de la Orotava, is an 18th-century garden featuring a diverse collection of tropical and subtropical plants. Visitors can marvel at the 200-year-old fig tree and take a leisurely stroll through the garden's beautiful scenery, exotic flowers, and impressive trees.
A beautiful botanical garden – especially the tropical and humid sections are stunning! For only 3 euros, it's a fantastic outing where you can easily spend a lot of time, especially if you love plants. Peaceful, green, and full of fascinating species – highly recommended for nature lovers!

It feels very peaceful and relaxing to walk around, and you can really take your time just enjoying. I even spotted a bright red dragonfly, which made the visit feel even more special. Perfect spot to escape the busy tourist areas for a while 😉 Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Tenerife!

This was a lovely cool oasis on a hot day. A great selection of trees and plants, the online map and plant ID guide was great for the ID of key specimens. Plenty of people there, but did not feel busy. Lots of benches to enjoy the shade and bird life. Highly recommended.

Absolutely amazing and fascinating place, well worth the €3 euros each. Spent about 2 hours pottering about. If you love plants and wildlife I'd recommend it so highly one of the best things we did all week. The man on the desk was super helpful too, despite us being sleep deprived and speaking zero Spanish, he was able to help us find a taxi rank and number. I'm sure we looked like fools haha!

The Botanical Garden serves as a tranquil sanctuary, offering visitors a considerable respite from the coastal heat and humidity. For an entrance fee of just 3 euros, guests can explore the winding pathways and admire a lush and diverse collection of flora, some of which are truly exceptional. There are a lot of strategically placed benches throughout the park for relaxation. Visitors planning their journey should be aware that the inland distance from the coast results in significantly higher temperatures, making walking to the location strenuous (at least for us it was 😅)

Went here with family friends and I must say this is one of the most exotic parks I've been too. So many plants from different parts of the world organised in such a beautiful way. This definitely takes some studying to be able to manage this ecosystem. The place is more like a 30 min- 1 hour stroll. Its big but not thay big so keep that in mind. Even though the place is hot on the outside of the park, the inside is cool due to the shade of the trees. Free toilets upon paying a 2 Euro fee for locals, free for university students and kids under 8. I uploaded many pics so that they speak for the park.

Unfortunately, this is not a proper beach. There's hardly any sand, and it is full of rocks and stones, which make the sea inaccessible to swimmers. It's nice and relaxing watching the surfers, paragliding and some evenings there is live music. This creates a lovely vibe about the place, hence 3 stars.
Dav M — Google review
Nice beach with nice waves. Good for surfing I think! Both stone and black sand.
Mike — Google review
This beach is not for swimming, but still really beautiful to visit. To watch surfers or to surf, there’s a little shop for people who want to surf. There’s a little cafe nearby. The view is great! And it’s so calming just to sit there and enjoy the waves.
Kateryna B — Google review
An ok free public beach, easily accessible. It has a sandy area to lay down. Mosty, everything else is rocky. Great for surfing. There are lifeguards watching out.
CJ — Google review
Very bad if you want to swim there because there are a lot of sharp rocks. If you want to swim without any rocks I advise you to go to beach bollullo. And the view is very beautiful

Nature & Parks
Parks
Marquesado de la Quinta Roja Garden is a picturesque hillside park in La Orotava, offering stunning views of the sea and the old town. The garden features 1800s mausoleum, colorful flowers, ornate metal entry gates, gravel walkways with mosaics, and lovely water features. Visitors can enjoy multiple fountains and relax on benches while taking in the beautiful coastal views.
Beautiful gardens, recently renovated, with various water features and places to sit with lovely views. A particular area was alive with various caterpillars/butterflies including the huge monarchs. Café on site but not tried.
Maggie N — Google review
The gardens were created by order of the La Marquesa de Quinta Roja, Doña Sebastiana del Castillo. While planning a burial site for her relatives, she discovered that her son, Diego Ponte del Castillo, could not be interred in the family pantheon due to his associations with Freemasonry. As a result, she decided to design an alternative burial site for her son — a beautiful garden boasting a magnificent view of the city, complete with a mausoleum at the very top. The project was undertaken by the French architect Adolph Coquet. The gardens feature a terraced structure comprising seven levels, adorned with various flower beds and fountains. At the summit, there is a mausoleum made of white marble, supported by eight Corinthian columns. The doors of the mausoleum bear the letter omega. Over time, additional symbols of Freemasonry have appeared throughout the gardens. There are also claims that the layout of the gardens holds specific significance, but this remains uncertain. Interestingly, the mausoleum was never used for its intended purpose. During my visit, the gardens were not very blooming and it was generally cloudy, so as for me the place was not very beautiful. But after reading the story, I became interested. I read that this place is a symbol of disobedience to church rules. So I think if you're walking around, to come and to visit this place it is not a bad idea.

A beautiful landscaped victorian garden overlooking some of the town with coastal views. The metal entry gates are ornate. Lots of gravel walkways, colourful flowers and bushes. Some of the pathways have mosaics. Their are some lovely water features to sit, watch and listen to on the benches. Their are steps up to the highest point where the views are the best. The garden in very neat and tidy and well maintained. Their is a cafe on site too

Shopping center offering a large array of stores & eateries, plus a children's play area.
This is a great shopping mall and very good transport links. However, waking from the hotel was a bit of a trek uphill and about 45 mins walk. Lots of shops and great sales. Have to wear masks and lots of security guards checking but it was not so crowded. Very clean and lots of places to eat. I really enjoyed my day out and my purchases.
Julia K — Google review
Update September 2023: Roads surrounding the centre have been resurfaced and improved. It can still get very busy and chaotic with traffic at peak times. Large mall over various levels and in a number of buildings around a central square. Lots of shops including some designer outlets and a massive supermarket. It's not an attractive mall from the outside - but it has everything you'll possibly need. The mall containing Al Campo hypermarket has a varied selection of shops and cafes.
Glynn R — Google review
Great places to buy, eat and drink. Almost everything with high quality services. Trading heart of Orotava valley.

A decent sized shopping mall with a decent variety of shops. Some places to eat at the outdoor part and a large supermarket is attached to the indoor part. Only €1.45 by bus (363) from La Paz in Perto De La Cruz.
Paul K — Google review
There is a massive supermarket here. We didnt even look in it as we were way too hot and bothered. On another day we might have had a good look in there. The shopping mall itself was full of designer outlets at designer prices. Very expensive. And it's in the middle of nowhere. Probably appeals more to younger generations. But it just wasnt for me and the wife.... But I do have to say there is a lovely little coffee shop in there. Very friendly and helpful staff. But on a whole it was a nightmare. We had to walk around the entire complex to find where to get a taxi. There were no signs inside. We were so glad to leave here and wouldnt go back.

It's a crowded mall with lots many shops and lot of entertainment.2 kids play Park free of cost and few more entertainments with pay. And it has a outlet shops too with a very nice collection's and the prices👌. They also a have sports shops kids shops furniture shops, very famous books shops, and car showrooms Honda, Volkswagen, Skoda, Hyundai and a government tax office this place is three plant mall. You will not feel boring at all. 👌👏👍🙂

Our family visits this place at least 2 times a week. Before we go shopping, we let our kids jump for half an hour on large air giraffe and piramide while we drink coffee at the cafe in the center garden grounds. Since there are no cars on the inside grounds, it's safe for kids to run around. There is a playground and couple paid places for them to jump around. Recently a pet store opened with lots of different animals for sale. We love to go there to check them out - it's like a free zoo :) Recommend to visit.

Waited 15 minutes to be seated (there were empty tables, but the staff weren't seating people). My drink came quickly, but my pasta didn't arrive for 40 minutes (and was tepid). I asked for it to be heated up, but it disappeared for another 10 minutes...at which point, I decided to leave. The staff were very friendly, maybe my order just got 'lost in the system'. Either way, a very disappointing experience (and a waste of an hour of my time).

I never ate American style food in my own country. It was delicious! A lot for one person and the waiters were very friendly! I recommend this fast food place to anyone looking for a typical American experience. I saw mostly locals having dinner here. This means it's a very well-known hotspot. From start to finish . The meal . Atmosphere and staff were amazing . Oh loved the robot . Very reasonably priced for a 3 course meal and lovely view to the entrance of the jarden botanico garden 😀 . We shall return on our next visit to dela cruz . Todor. You were great thank you

The food was excellent however prices weren’t all clear from the menu (Black Sea mixed grill for one person you would expect to be half the price of that for two people but was actually closer to two thirds and this was not made clear). The Bulgarian yoghurt dessert was exquisite and Black Sea grill itself was also delicious, the vegetables and meat were seasoned well. The waiters however had an unpleasant attitude and were not very considerate

We came here 3 years ago on our first holiday to Tenerife and loved it so much we made sure to return this time. It did not disappoint. The food is great but the service really sells this place too. Definitely one of my favourite places to go when visiting Puerto de la Cruz for a quick escape from the touristic south where I live... Absolutely fantastic location and area exactly in front of the botanical garden and in a lovely complex building with a garden and great views towards the mountains as well. Food is so good and full of flavours with nice variety being very different than most places around which provide same old basic things in their menus. Definitely will always come back with friends and family and I recommend it 10/10 !!! Keep the good work family ...

The desserts were dry. Like few days old. Bought 5x different sweets - all of them were old. When you put the fork through the dough - the fork hardly goes trough, as it is hard. Atmosphere itself inside is good , and service is good. But the bakery is few days old. Do not recommend.
Gintaras N — Google review
I will not comment on the desserts as it is a matter of taste, but the service was a disappointment. The persons at the counter are really nice and helpful, but what happened next was bad. We stayed in the queue to get a table, when our turn came and there was a free table for 4 persons the waiter said that we should still wait as the first persons in the queue have the priority and started asking who are the first at the back of the queue 😅 others confirmed that we are the first and finally we got our table. Meanwhile we saw our desserts getting on the wrong table when we were still staying in the queue. After finishing our meal we wanted to pay,no one told us we should pay at the counter so we sat 20+ minutes because our waiter ignored us each time when passing our table and when we approached the bar the bartender just left when she saw us coming 😵‍💫 I know what means being patient but this was too much. Maybe if you sit at a table in the garden, the view can overshadow the bad service 🤷
Irina B — Google review
The most friendliest, homiest sweetest attitude of the waiting staff! They were so attentive and understanding in such a busy and stressful environment on a Sunday afternoon. The food was absolutely fresh and delicious!! We will move to La Orotava for this!!!

Really good food and a nice garden to boot. Stopped by for a quick visit to the garden only to find this unassuming cafe and decided to have lunch here. Did not disappoint, we had the soup (amazing) and veal. Also had the cake which I didn’t take picture of. All the food was really tasty and I wouldn’t hesitate to come back. The waiter did miss our order of the veal but when asked on, he apologised he had forgotten and got to our table in 2 minutes.
Jason J — Google review
Best dessert ever. Recommended to take the Dulce Delas Alfombras and the Almendra. 2 cakes that are very special and out of the ordinary. A very quiet place, we found it by luck. There is no advertisement of the confiteria outside, it looks like a regular old restaurant from the outside. BUT, as soon as you enter, your world changes from a mysterious one to a sugary one. A huge line of small cakes suddenly appear and your salivary glands begin to shoot to every place like a rabbid dog. Now you are in CAKE HEAVAN. Sit down, relax, order a cup of coffee and a piece of cake. Call me later and thank me. Prices are completely worth it. We ordered a cup of tea, espresso and 2 pieces of cake. Cost 5.5 Euro. Take a seat in the garden above the confiteria.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Puerto de la Cruz, Vinoteca Con Pasión is a delightful haven for wine enthusiasts and food lovers alike. This charming venue boasts an impressive array of both local and international wines, expertly curated by knowledgeable sommeliers who are eager to guide you through your tasting experience. The atmosphere is upscale yet inviting, making it perfect for those looking to indulge in gourmet dishes paired with exquisite wines.
Would have never found it without Google Maps, despite being minutes from the main strip. Great wee place though. Small but well formed tapas menu. They do a bit of Med/Eastern fusion. The peanut chicken is interesting, enjoyed it. The prawn with curry is just excellent. As are the anchovies. But anyway, it's a wine bar, and the selection is vast, and all heroically local (some from Iberia, but mostly much closer). Tried the Brut Valeoro, a sparkling wine from just up the hill. Stupendous. You won't get these wines at home because they don't make so much, but try them when you are here.

This is an amazing wine and tapas experience. The food is very good, and the deserts are excellent. We had the wine flight with two white and two reds, then some cava, and coffee. Definitely worth a visit. The wine list is extensive, so ask for recommendations - each recommendation was excellent.

As wine lovers, we have found the best address in Puerto Cruz here - everything else doesn't even come close. The wines by the glass are well chosen, there is often more to choose from than listed on the menu and the consultation is very good. You can also buy the wine in the shop next door and drink it the next evening in the hotel. The tapas were innovative, very tasty and varied. The service is perfect and attentive. We've been here twice in 9 days and we don't normally go to the same restaurant twice. My number one recommendation in Puerto Cruz.

For day 3, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like La Ruleta Vista Point. La Ruleta Vista Point is a popular stop in Tenerife's Teide National Park, offering an iconic view of Mt Teide and Roque de Garcia. It features a large car park but can get very busy with tour buses, so it's advised not to leave valuables in your car. The area also serves as a starting point for the Chinyero Volcano Loop, a 7.
Beautiful viewpoint with views of Teide, as well as the valley of the caldera. You can see the leading edge of the ancient lava flows, and picture it pushing across the valley floor. Parking is shared with trailhead, so parking can become difficult at best. If you get here in the afternoon, expect to park a ways away and walk. The view is certainly worth it though.

Amazing trip up here today. Took us 1hr12mins from El Medano. Beautiful scenery. Lovely walks. VERY busy to park but you'll eventually find a space whether in a car park or on a layby on the side of the road. Really worth the trip up. We would do the trip at night time next time to see it in the dark and the stars!
Sasha B — Google review
Located south of Mount Teide’s summit, the La Ruleta Vista Point offers an impressive view of Teide and the surrounding volcanic landscape, as well as the starting point for a roughly 3.5 km circular hike around the rock formations of Roque Cinchado, Roques de García, and the surrounding volcanic rocks. With sturdy footwear, the hike is suitable even for beginners and takes about 2–3 hours, depending on walking speed and number of breaks. The scenery here is breathtakingly beautiful, and both the La Ruleta viewpoint and the hike through the volcanic rocks are true highlights of Tenerife. It is highly recommended to arrive early, ideally between 9:00 and 9:30 a.m., as parking at the site is limited. Parking spaces can be found along the access road to La Ruleta Vista Point, near Ermita de las Nieves, as well as along the access road to the nearby hotel. After about 10:00 a.m., parking becomes crowded and chaotic, which can lead to a frustrating experience, especially considering the long drive to get there.

We took a hike at La Ruleta Vista Point (Mirador de La Ruleta) in Tenerife, and it was fantastic! The scenery is absolutely beautiful, with stunning views all around. The trail itself was easy and relaxed, making for a very enjoyable walk. As an added bonus, we even spotted some little lizards along the way! Highly recommend for an easy and scenic outdoor experience.
Yecheng S — Google review
Mirador de la Ruleta offers one of Teide National Park’s most iconic views. Easily accessible by car, it overlooks the dramatic Roques de García and vast Llano de Ucanca plains. Perfect for families and travelers seeking breathtaking scenery without hiking, especially magical at sunset with Teide towering above.
Allen — Google review
Visiting Teide National Park was an unforgettable experience. The landscape is absolutely unique - a dramatic combination of ancient lava fields, surreal rock formations, and pine forests that feel like something from another world. The cable car ride to the summit was breathtaking, offering panoramic views not only of Tenerife but also of the surrounding islands. What struck me most was the sheer diversity of the scenery. In one day you can walk through volcanic deserts that look like Mars and then find yourself surrounded by fresh, green pine trees. The air is crisp and clear, making every viewpoint even more spectacular. The park is also very well organized, with clear trails, informative guides, and plenty of spots to stop and admire the views. Learning about the geological history of Mount Teide added a whole new level of appreciation - it’s not just a mountain, but a living symbol of the island. I would highly recommend Teide National Park to anyone visiting Tenerife. It’s not only a must-see attraction but also one of those rare places that leaves you with a sense of awe and perspective long after you’ve left.

This well-preserved building offers a glimpse into the island's history and Canarian culture through its museum, showcasing ancient art, interior gardens, and distinctive architecture. Visitors can also enjoy a meal in the restaurant housed within this charming 17th-century mansion with a cool interior courtyard.
What a wonderfully beautiful place for a lovely meal. The surroundings of the dining room, the decor and ambience were stunning and the food very good, delicious and tasty. The portions were not massively huge but with 3 courses it was sure plenty. We would definetely visit again if were were in the area. The whole meal felt very special and the waiting staff were very attentive. Their was a court yard bar/dining area to which was very nice. The toilets were spotless.

In the heart of the historic center of La Orotava, Casa Lercaro is a 17th century manor house, with a beautiful garden. The restaurant is wonderful with very delicious food. Everything what we eat was very delicious. The only negative thing was the service, which was very slow.

The Monteverde house is a building with a late renaissance façade that was built in the late 17th century. It has always belonged to the Monteverdes, a family of Italian merchants who settled in the 17th century in La Orotava and in other points of the islands such as Las Palmas and La Laguna. They never lost their connection to Italy, and from there they imported the tradition of flower carpets in the mid-19th century. Three women of the Monteverde family designed geometric shapes with wine barrel rings that they filled with flower petals to honour the passage of the Corpus Christi procession. The original design of this first flower carpet is the one that appears in the glass window in front of this house, and in the Homage to the Flower Carpet Maker sculpture. Today, the entire Corpus Christi procession is covered with flower carpets made by the people of La Orotava. Right next to where you are, you can see Lercaro house on the same pavement. This late 17th-century manor house was originally linked to the Ponte family, descendants of a Genoese banker who invested in the conquest. Since the land distribution, his heirs have held the noble title of Marquises of Quinta Roja. This building was originally a private house. Due to its large size, its original use was subsequently combined with a warehouse and even a tobacco drying house. A standout feature is the carpentry work, especially on the four balconies. Look at the sgraffito designs that frame the doors and windows. Sgraffito is a decoration technique that creates a sense of volume, using two successive layers to reveal patterns by scratching through the surface layer. This property includes a disused mill, the last of a line of them up the street, along the water channel that flowed here. From this point, the water was used to irrigate the farming plots. At the end of the 19th century, a tannery that supplied La Orotava's shoe and hat makers operated in the back of this house.

Wonderful Octopus dish. Brownie dessert clinched the spot of the best restaurant in Tenerife. It was light and not too sweet. View was one of the best I had in a Tenerife’s restaurant. Waitress was there whenever I turned my head. Unexpectedly great food in the middle of a small city.

Casa de los Balcones, also known as the House of the Balconies, is a historic building dating back to 1632. It houses souvenir shops and showcases folk art crafted by local artisans. The town's historic center features several charming residences constructed in the 16th and 17th centuries, reflecting traditional Canary Islands architecture.
If you are a big fun of architecture, then it would be your dream place. Still wondering, how can such an oriental style standing there through all the historical years.

Definitely recommend a visit here and learn more about the local history. It’s quite small so you won’t need more than 30 minutes, unless you plan to buy something at the gift store.
Salome D — Google review
Built back in 1632, this charming house once belonged to a wealthy family and is a perfect example of traditional Canarian architecture. Its famous carved wooden balconies are a true symbol of La Orotava — you just can’t miss them. Today, it’s a museum where you can step into the everyday life of people from the 17th to 19th centuries. I was pleasantly surprised by how many rooms there are and how carefully everything has been preserved. Each corner is full of little details — from the bedroom and dining room to the vintage bathroom and kitchen, which especially caught my eye. Walking through the house, you just want to slow down and take in every piece — from the furniture to the smallest decorations. The visit takes about 30 minutes, but these half an hour will take you on a real journey back in time. If you’re ever in La Orotava — I highly recommend stopping by! By the way, the balconies here are more than just beautiful. In traditional Canarian architecture, balconies helped protect homes from the sun and rain, served as spaces for socializing, and even reflected the family’s status. That’s why they’re so elaborate and iconic — they truly define the character of this house and the city. Plus — it’s such a photogenic spot! From the detailed woodwork to the charming old rooms and cozy courtyard, this place is perfect if you’re looking for unique and atmospheric photos.

The Casa de los Balcones, located in the historic center of La Orotava, Tenerife, is an architectural jewel of the seventeenth century that stands out for its elaborate carved wood balconies and its charming interior patio. Built in 1632, this manor house houses a museum that offers an authentic vision of the life of the noble families of the time, with rooms decorated with original furniture and exhibitions of traditional Canarian handicrafts, such as calados and embroidery. In addition, it has craft workshops in operation and a store where you can buy local products. It is an essential visit for those who wish to immerse themselves in the history and culture of Tenerife.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ La Casa de los Balcones is a beautiful step back in time. This 17th-century Canarian mansion is famous for its carved wooden balconies, but what really makes it special is how it shows life in Tenerife centuries ago. Inside, you can walk through rooms furnished as they would have been in the past, see traditional crafts, and get a feel for how wealthy families lived here. Built in 1632, the house belonged to the Méndez-Fonseca family and later became a symbol of La Orotava’s rich cultural heritage. Today it’s part museum, part cultural center, with exhibitions of Canarian embroidery, traditional costumes, and everyday tools. The courtyard filled with plants is stunning, and the craftsmanship in the woodwork is incredible. It’s not a long visit, but it’s a must if you’re in La Orotava. For a small entrance fee, you leave with a real sense of Tenerife’s history and traditions, and it’s a great complement to exploring the town’s old streets.

Beautiful building in the heart of La Orotava and at only €6 per person entry well worth it. Scan the bar code upon entry for a free online tour with descriptions of all rooms and there are descriptions on the wall outside each room in Spanish and English. They also have a shop selling local artisan goods as well as postcards etc. As La Oratava is only 15 minutes by bus from Puerto de la Cruz and only €1.45 per person each way it would be a shame not to visit.

Catholic church
The Church of Our Lady of Conception is a stunning Baroque Catholic church in La Orotava, featuring a large dome adorned with stained-glass windows. The church's striking bell tower and traditional Mudejar ceiling work add to its allure. Built in the 17th and 18th centuries, the church houses the Santa Cruz de la Conquista, dating back to 1494.
This is a definite stop if in LA Orotava, if you are like us and like old churches because of the architecture and how beautiful they look from the outside and inside. But the real gem to this church is the tour of the church relics. Our tour guide Natalia was amazing so informative and could tell she really loves her job and church. I recommend taking this tour and for the group of 4 was 16 euros and after the tour I felt the price should easily be twice that. If we ever come back I would make this stop and do this tour again. Thanks Natalia for a wonderful tour your friends from the US.

Very pretty church! Don't miss it if visiting La Laguna. We were a bit disappointed that it was closed though!
Laura F — Google review
There has been a small church here since the Conquista at the end of the 15th century. A second church was built in the 16th century on the same site. The current building, which has been granted the category of National Monument, was built in the 18th century after the Güímar earthquakes. The façade is one of the most interesting baroque portals of the Canary Islands. Let's pause for a moment to admire the church's exterior. Note the curved façade that divides the temple's naves and the elegant stone portal. The clock and bell towers arise in the background. Together, the façade and the towers accentuate the church's verticality, projecting a sense of roundness and elevation. A sensation of movement is added with the serpentine cornice and the curve that forms the three naves. The impressive gargoyles influenced by medieval bestiaries and Native American sculptures also accentuate the sensation of movement, unease and unrest.

Comparatively to Tenerife, it is a very large and unique church, compared to other churches in Europe, it is quite "ordinary". It is one of the special attractions in Ortoba and worth spending a few minutes to visit, of course Christians could always pray here
Itzik ( — Google review
Since it was Ash Wednesday and I had a very short time in the city, because of my flight, I decided to stop by a church to pray since I could not make it to a full mass. Upon entering, two women informed me there was a €2 fee. While not much, I found it odd to pay to pray. They calmly explained the policy, I was willing regardless to pay, but then they claimed I wasn’t really there to pray—an unnecessary and rude judgment. They suggested other churches around instead. Visitors should be treated with respect, without assumptions. This is not the welcoming Catholic Church I know.

Nice baroque church in la orotava. Definitely worth a visit if your in la orotava.
Nick M — Google review
A gorgeous church with unique features and history. HOWEVER, the real thing you need to look out for is the little door over to the right of the altar. At certain times of day you can pass through this door and into the Museum of Treasures, which is BRILLIANT. We happened upon it just as we were on our way to the airport, but I'm so glad we had a bit of time to spare, because the guide locked the door and took us on a ravishing trip around the unseen treasures of the building; through hidden doors and up winding stairs. The collection of vestments is particularly fabulous, where you can get right up and see the sequins and detail. Also the room of sculptures where you learn about shifting tastes and protocol around the iconography. The guide (I'm so sorry I don't remember her name) was knowledgeable (way beyond just the collection she was showing us), personable, funny and gregarious. We had the best time and would recommend it in a heartbeat. Thank you!

Located in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife, El Castillo San Felipe is a well-preserved stone castle built in the 17th century for defensive purposes. Also known as the Old Port, it was one of three forts designed to protect the city from pirate and ship attacks. Designed by renowned architect Cassola and built by Antonio Gallegos in 1634, this colonial-style fort has two floors and a pentagonal shape.
A great place, usually tematic exhibitions are held here about paintings. It is free to enter, but they accept donatitons. The seaside around it is beautyful and it is a great viewpoint.
Ádám P — Google review
Okay for quick look if you're passing but it's just an art exhibition (and not many exhibits) with no information about the tower itself. It could be better as it's an excellent building in itself.

Castillo de San Felipe in Puerto de la Cruz The Castillo de San Felipe is one of those places where you can still feel the historic battles fought in defense of the islands and which carries the echo of a more violent and uncertain time. The Castillo de San Felipe is located about one kilometer from the city center of Puerto de la Cruz and right next to the leisure facilities of Playa Jardín. The Castillo de San Felipe had a defensive mission to ward off pirate attacks and was also used as a base station. Although this was the purpose for which it was built, over time it has found many uses, for example it was for a time a hospital, a warehouse, a shooting club and even a restaurant. In recent years it has even been used for concerts and exhibitions. It can be said that the Castillo de San Felipe has been kept in good condition thanks to the remodeling and innovations that are carried out on a regular basis. It currently serves as a cultural space. The Castillo de San Felipe was declared a Cultural Asset and Artistic Historical Monument in 1949 and is part of the Historical Heritage of Spain.

Playa Los Patos is a remote black sand beach backed by cliffs and situated in the stunning Orotava Valley with the Teide volcano in the background. It's known for its unspoiled beauty and becomes the largest bathing area in northern Tenerife during summer and low tide. Accessible only on foot, it offers a challenging descent but rewards visitors with its natural volcanic black sand. The local administration is currently constructing stairs to provide easier access to this wonderful beach.
I think we missed it due to google directions but went to one of the others beaches next to . It was an adventurous hike down - wear sneakers ! It was stunning down at the beach.
Anja M — Google review
Great beach. The sand is a deep black with sparkling bits and very fine and pleasant. There are two areas, one smaller next to the stairs and one bigger further north. The bigger part is used both b6 naturists and by surfers and it has a very chill vibe. You can reach this places from where Google maps tells you, just ignore the naysayers. From the road, look for some stairs going down to the dry riverbed, and under a bridge. Just follow the path to the beach until you reach the stairs. There's a break in the chain fence and you just go down. The waves are big and there are no facilities here. A lot of space and not crowded so you can have privacy if you want. Great sunsets too, one of the best wild beaches in tenerife

True 💎, absolute highlight of the trip. We went there two times after discovering it by following a dry riverbed. Free parking at the top of the riverbed track made it even more convenient, turning each visit into a delightful escape into nature's secluded haven.

Don’t come here!!! Go to the other entrance, the stairs more to the west. Google Maps and Waze will guide you on the worse road possible, and you’ll have to go through private roads and unsafe walkways. Lovely beach and scenery. Go to the other pin
Juancho F — Google review
Beautiful beach going there is a bit tricky so read carefully: Don't go by the Google location, park the car on the sides of San Diego streat and walk about 15 minutes to the iron gate in the picture, descend down until you see the yellow fence in the picture and crawl under it, then descend carefully in the cliff. There are some ropes that people put there so you can use but don't trust them too much. Check when the sun is above the cliff before you come, it should be in the afternoon. Enjoy!
Joseph D — Google review
A secluded place that is probably one of the best beaches I have ever been to. Not a lot of people, clothing optional and around 700 meters of black sand make this beach truly special. Don‘t get distracted by the fences that tell you it is closed. It is not. Just wear proper shoes!
Paul-Adam F — Google review
Fantastic Beach!!!! A little hard to get to, there are two ways down. Google will direct you to the north end, but the way is steep and you have to park a fair way away. There’s a path that goes down right up from where the beach is from the road. The way is very steep and not suitable for mobility impaired persons. The old stairwell is dangerous and not passable, however if you continue past, you can find the path down. It’s quite steep and rocky, but passable. Once down, the beach is incredible! Not too many people and lovely black sand. Amazing beach and worth the 30 minute trek.

We had high hopes based on the reviews but our visit was a total letdown. We ordered the gnocchi and what arrived was an bit of a failed experiment. Something like an undercooked croquet. It didn't resemble gnocchi at all, it had runny, liquidy, pudding like center. On the other hand where we expected the pear to be soft we found that it was as tough as a raw one. Everything came lukewarm and topping it off, the portion was laughably small, more like a child serving - 13 euros. Left disappointed.

Sabor Canario. Hotel Rural Orotava is a charming hotel with individually furnished rooms, a restaurant, and a terrace. The hotel offers a warm and genuine welcome to its guests, providing a choice of tables for dining. The menu features traditional Canarian cuisine including Pimientos Padron, Croquetas, Gambas Ajillo, and Ensalada Queso Cabra. The inner courtyard provides an intimate setting for enjoying the super tasty food served with attentive and discrete service.
We visited at lunch on a Saturday in February and as we are English arrived at about 12:30 so were the first to arrive. The welcome was friendly and genuine and with one table reserved we had the choice of tables. We chose one on the patio (there are plenty available inside as well) and were presented with the menu and specials. We chose from the specials board - Pimientos Padron (€7), Croquetas (€7.50), Gambas Ajillo (€11) and Ensalada Queso Cabra (€9) from the main menu. The dishes arrived when completed which meant lunch lasted an extended time which meant it was very special particularly as the food was delightful. The servings were large and very tasty and the salad had some incredible goats cheese on it alongside some exceptional fresh tomatoes. The rest of the tapas were probably amongst the best that we have had here. The food was accompanied by 0.5l of house dry white wine (€9.50) and a bottle of sparkling water (€2.50). The location provided both enclosed patio seating and undercover internal seating should it be needed. The patio was bright open and an integral part of the building providing a peaceful oasis away from the road and the tourists outside. The patio was full within an hour of our arrival and it was it was a bustling charming mix of nationalities and dishes. We left after about 90 minutes and it really did make our visit to La Orotava exceptionally special Would we recommend it? - Completely Would we return? - Without hesitation!

Only been to the restaurant. Maybe it was just a bad day, but the service was a nightmare. We ordered 2 appetisers as soon as we arrived and 1 hour later we were served only 1 of them. It took them 15 more minutes to realise that they forgot about the second one and we ended up never getting it and had to leave, as we just went in for a quick snack and did not plan to spend 2 hours there. In the end the check included the bread that we didn’t order. We’ve been seeing other customers having their orders mixed up. The food and wine tasted really good, too bad we didn’t get a chance to taste more things.

We spent a night with our 12y/o son here to enjoy the silence of a natural park and grasp some starlight - which we can truly recommend when you spend your holidays in Tenerife. Our impression was that it is more than a 3star hotel, we enjoyed sitting outside on the terrace or cooling don in the pool with a view on Teide. Good- v. good price / service relation.
Daniel S — Google review
The hotel is a bit old but overall very nice. The best part is definitely the location — right next to Mount Teide! There’s a pool and a sauna (though it didn’t get very hot). The water pressure in the shower was great, and it was magical to see the stars directly from the parking lot. The hotel also has private parking, which was super convenient since there are lots of tourists visiting Roques de García. I wouldn’t recommend the restaurant, so we chose to eat in Vilaflor instead. Overall, a lovely stay mainly for the amazing location.
Mégane L — Google review
The only hotel in the national park and the meeting point for a number of excursions but were not happy with us using their toilet, and yet we were happy to purchase coffee but this was not available.. If not for this would have been interested in staying here but staff seem quite snobby and stroppy
Kerry J — Google review
Came here after a night hike to grab some tea to go, but the rude receptionist shouted at us that this is a hotel for guests only, and only guests can eat or drink here. We just asked for a hot tea to go — simply to warm up after the hike. I understand that there are rules, but there should also be some humanity. Terrible staff, terrible service. I hope you won’t have any clients at all!
Juliana S — Google review
On the way we stopped at The cafetaria to grab something to eat. We paid €39 for two burgers that were inedible, some fries, and two cans of cola. Way too expensive, and if at least the food had been good… but it was a total disaster.
Jaouad A — Google review
We visited the Parador de las Cañadas del Teide and it was honestly a very unpleasant experience. The ladies’ restroom near reception had a terrible smell of human waste — truly unbearable. My wife tried to go in but had to leave immediately. Even the reception area smelled bad, and the staff acted as if nothing was wrong. Very disappointing for a place of this level. We won’t be coming back.
Pericutin J — Google review
What a place to stay! Rooms were great, dinner and breakfast were bigger than we could manage and the location is perfect. Highest pool on the island and landscape is otherworldly. Tip: if you want to really enjoy your mountain trip, give yourself a couple of hours to acclimatise before going to the top of thr cablecar!

The Telesforo Bravo Visitor Center serves as a gateway for adventurers eager to conquer Mount Teide, Spain's highest peak. To embark on the exhilarating Telesforo Bravo Trail, which connects La Rambleta at 3,555 meters to the summit at 3,718 meters, you'll need a special permit—so plan ahead and secure your spot well in advance! This trail is not just any hike; it offers breathtaking views and an intimate look into Tenerife’s unique geological history.
The employee at the entrance was very welcoming and took his time to explain how the visitor center is set up & more. This is for free (even though it'd be worth an entrance fee IMHO) We stayed for around 75 minutes and basically read and looked at everything. Very informative in a modern way. We arrived after the siesta at 1530 on a Tuesday and were among max. 5 other visitors. Recommended <3

Spent 45 minutes in here, could have spent maybe another 30 reading every interactive digital screen. Audio is in Spanish (why no subtitles??) but the displays are very well-written and informative. You lean about the flora and fauna, the volcano etc. Very interesting, especially the part about the volcano. A must if you are visiting El Teide National Park Free entrance
Paolo R — Google review
What a wonderful experience! This is much more than a visitor centre. It is a multimedia museum with variety information about Tenerife and Teide on 3 floors. Highly recommended!
Nataliya B — Google review
Really well done visitors experience, is nice and clean, with well thought out displays and info. Also has an interesting small cinema film about the island and volcano.
Simon ( — Google review
Highly informative about the early explorers to Tenerife. Focus on flora and fauna also volcanoes. Excellent facilty- well worth a visit. The town of La Orotavia is a charming place with some buildings having the lovely carved balconies, typical of the Canaries. This style of building comes from the Spanish settlers who decided to build a grand colonial town here as there are many water springs on the hillsides. Crafts - such as embroidery, pottery etc plentiful. Excellent place.
Gemma K — Google review
If you want to go to Mt Teide, you should visit this place first. Marvelous exhibition about Tenerife’s fauna and flora plus lot of geological informations.
Krzysztof P — Google review
Highly recommended! It's a complete multimedia museum about Tenereife, its history, geology, flora and fauna. Extremely interesting and it's free.
Klara K — Google review
When we visited this place we expected a visitor center and got a museum! They have created a wonderful and unbelievably modern exhibition about Tenerife, its flora and fauna as well as history. The architecture of its exhibition rooms is amazing and even though it's small, it's very creative and features, for example, a little tunnel inside a volcano. If you're in La Orotava, you should stop by!

The Latin American Craft Museum of Tenerife, located in the former convent of San Benito Abad, is a hidden gem in La Orotava. The museum showcases a diverse collection of Ibero-American handicrafts, including ceramics, glassware, and needlework from the Canary Islands. Visitors can explore the museum's intriguing architecture, including an old bell tower and a beautiful courtyard. Additionally, there are opportunities to observe artisans creating traditional crafts on-site.
Fascinating and underrated museum in a beautiful building. The museum houses a large collection of various items related to the arts- musical instruments, fabrics, sewing and weaving technology, masonry, pottery, religious and ethnic clothing and jewellery. The exhibitions are accompanied by detailed information and explanations, and the courtyard of the gallery is a beautiful spot, also showcasing exhibits related to agriculture and gardening.
Daniel H — Google review
Colourful Canary Islands traditional houses and old bell tower in La Orotava, Tenerife The museum itself is pretty interesting. It's free but the collection is very respectable. It's a little tucked away so you'll have to search for it but the bell tower is a good sign to look for. The building architecture, including the old bell tower, is actually interesting itself. The courtyard is gorgeous and if you're lucky and the café is open you won't be disappointed
Komeil K — Google review
This is a great museum. It has musical instruments, pottery, clothes, traditions, in a beautiful large old Canarian house. Definitely worth a visit.

We walked 5 kilometers under the gopa to visit the museum. We arrived at 13:45. We were not allowed into the museum. The woman inside said it was buried. The museum's website states opening hours until 15:00 p.m. on that day.

The Ayuntamiento de La Orotava is a stunning example of neoclassical architecture that graces the charming town of La Orotava. Constructed in the late 19th century and inaugurated in 1895, this striking building features a captivating pink facade that draws visitors in. Nestled near the botanical gardens and overlooking the town square, it serves as a vibrant hub for local festivities. As you step inside, you'll feel like you've entered a museum rather than just a town hall.
Unique ayuntamiento. Very historic building and surrounding areas are really worth visit.

Restaurante La Zafra is a charming eatery in La Oratava, known for its exceptional food and service. The restaurant is run by a talented couple who offer creative local dishes with a unique twist. They are praised for their ability to accommodate dietary restrictions, making it an ideal spot for those with specific needs such as celiac disease or vegetarian preferences.
Wow, what a great find! A goldmine for vegetarians who have a hard time in Spain to my opinion. Smoked pumpkin as a starter and Canarian potatoe gnocchi as a main dish. Perfect and delicious. A must eat!!!
Peter G — Google review
Creative local food with a twist is what's served in this small & cozy restaurant, run by a talented young couple, her serving and explaining the food and him being the magic chef behind it. Possibly the best place to eat in La Oratava.
Jump N — Google review
Wonderful restaurant run by a husband and wife team. The food and service was excellent, and the team did a fantastic job of accommodating dietary requests (one member of the party has celiac disease). I wish I lived closer so I could go frequently!
Michael D — Google review
We went to La Zafra twice and consider it as the best place to eat in La valle de la Orotava. The chef is creative by using traditional ingredients such as gofio or mojos with fresh products in à vers modern and personal way. The result is always spectacular for the eyes and the taste, just perfect !!!
Evelyne R — Google review
Super sweet and attentive service, creative cuisine, all dishes came with an interesting twist. It was really a little culinary explosion on the tongue. Highly recommended, get there before this little place becomes way too crowded or too expensive :)

We had a reservation and had been looking forward to eating at La Zafra. We were astonished and so deceived to find it closed! I can't understand why they didn't warn us, given that they have my number. I was told at my hotel that it is not the first time they hear this

Spanish restaurant
Restaurante Tasca La Cañada is an ideal establishment to indulge in delectable cuisine and unwind in a soothing ambiance. Notably, the proprietor and staff members are both proficient and amiable, ensuring a remarkable hospitality experience. The portions of food pleasantly surprised customers, with the waitress kindly advising against excessive orders. The atmosphere exudes a pleasant vibe while offering delicious meals, although some patrons found the delay in receiving their bill towards the end somewhat unpleasant.
We stumbled upon this little restaurant by chance while looking for a local menu, and truly enjoyed everything. The staff was wonderful, and the atmosphere felt like having a home-cooked meal — only much better 😂 Highly recommended to everyone, and we’ll definitely be coming back!”

We were positively surprised by the food portions. It was very nice of the waitress to let us know that we were ordering too much. Nice vibe and good food, but it took them a long time, about half an hour, to bring the bill to us in the end which wasn’t very pleasant.

This restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy mouthwatering food in combination with relaxing atmosphere ! Furthermore, one of the most important characteristic of the restaurant is that the owner and all the staff are really professional but at the same time extremely friendly and hospitable , offering you the perfect experience of hospitality! Thank you for all!

At first we were unsure if we were even going to eat here, seeing as the employees were spray-painting a table right in front of the building and the smell was rather heavy- The food however, was surprisingly delightful. We especially enjoyed the octopus.
PoeciloKillia — Google review
Really very good! I think is the best quality-price restaurant I have ever been. We have eat there tonight with my boyfriend and even if the facade of restaurant doesn't make a such good impression, it was super good and far away the best restaurant we have made in this island. I hardly recommend it!

Wonderful place. We ordered three tapas (tortilla de plátano, tumbet, and an egg chorizo potato dish), which were incredibly tasty and of a very decent portion for the two of us. Also excellent wine. Elegant place with friendly people. Quality-price wise, outstanding! Best dinner I had in Tenerife.

The menu features local starters such as salty Canary potatoes with flavorful dips, as well as homemade bread served with various accompaniments.
Great food and friendly staff. We had the Garlic shrimps and Surf and turf beef - I would recommend it any time. Looking at the tables around, all served food looked delicious and well presented.

Very delicious food, we got chicken risotto and chicken with papas arrugadas. The restaurant looks very modest outside, but had a lot of customers and good service, great food. Only minus was that they could not print a copy of the receipt (promised to send to email though).

Everything just perfect, really. The Croquettes are the best I ever had, service extremely professional, prices super reasonable. I will definitely come back
Mona-Lisa S — Google review
The food wasn’t great. The French fries were ok. The huevos Villero had a mix of French fries and more under the eggs. We didn’t think it was good. The grilled goats cheese with honey and gofio was good. The gourmet burger meat was very good and cooked to the right degree but alas was slightly salty.
Conor O — Google review
The terrace offers stunning views and a pleasant atmosphere with nice music. The service is friendly. We ordered a cheese platter, soup, and trio blood sausage. The cheese platter, though not asexactly the same as reviews suggested, was still tasty and likely featured local cheeses.
Kate — Google review
We have been here twice and the food is absolutely fantastic. We will probably come another night. One night we had fish and last night beef. The food is very varied and absolutely the best we have had in Tenerife. Can recommend the artichoke hearts, the avocado stuffed with the local cheese, the goats cheese and bacon salad, the meat balls, the vegetable plate was good too! the fish soup as well as the cod with onion bed. Don't forget the sangria and barraquito! We will be back!

Marvellous and unique place to eat and take a rest after a road trip. Excellent waitress. I’ve ordered local starters which were salty Canary potatoes with an orange and green (lime-apple-mint) mayo dips and homemade bread served with few colour dips. Bier served with nicely frozen glass. As a main course we got a cod loin with a special souse and tomatoes chips. Also curry chicken risotto was very delicious. At the end we’ve ordered tiramisu and lime cheesecake which were a great finish of our stay. Definitely I recommend this restaurant, 5/5, Ill be back some day again, cheers!
