Nestled in the scenic Kent countryside, Designer Outlet Ashford is a shopper's paradise that offers an impressive selection of discounted designer and high-street brands. Just a short stroll from Ashford International train station, this retail haven features an array of stores including popular names like Tommy Hilfiger and Nike. The outlet boasts stunning architecture designed by Lord Richard Rogers, highlighted by Europe's largest living wall, making it not just a shopping destination but also a visual delight.
Ashford Designer Outlet is a fantastic shopping destination, offering a wide range of designer brands at discounted prices. It’s located a bit further from the city center but is easily accessible with plenty of parking and good toilet facilities. The outlet is clean, tidy, and family-friendly, with a kids’ play area to keep little ones entertained. We visited during Christmas and loved the festive lighting, which made the place feel magical. The staff are friendly, and the overall vibe is welcoming. A great spot for shopping and spending time with family or friends!
Pramod S — Google review
Have been here several times and this outlet shopping area has plenty of shops around. Prices are comparatively lower than regular shops of the same brand. Places to eat & sit if required. Can easily spend few hours here. Nice and clean location with several parking spots.
Shashi K — Google review
There are a good selection of brand names, ample parking and clean facilities. One can expect a relatively painfree shopping experience on a average day. The choice of cafés and fast food outlets are reasonable but the prices do bite a bit. To be fair, compare to the outlets in North America, the prices here are on the high side and choices limited. Has Trump and his tariffs got anything to do with it? Perhaps.

Cadbury Shop – Ashford TN24 0SD, UK The Cadbury Shop in Ashford Designer Outlet is a lovely place for chocolate lovers. It offers a wide range of Dairy Milk bars, gift boxes, and seasonal treats at good prices. The shop is bright, clean, and located conveniently inside the outlet. It can get busy on weekends, but it’s perfect for picking up sweet gifts or enjoying a quick chocolate stop.
Iqbal N — Google review
Ashford Designer Outlet has a large range of shops, especially since the new addition of the more “designer brands” and places to eat. The circle layout is handy for walking around and quite wheelchair accessible. It’s a good afternoon out and I always manage to find something. There’s some entertainment for children, like a little park and merry go rounds (etc) and cars to push them round in which cost £9 for the day. The main car park has plenty of space available but for particularly busy weekends, there is an overfill car park across the road by the Asda. Both cost £2.50, which seems fairly reasonable.
Shannon V — Google review
Great outlet with plenty of good brands and nice places to eat. Parking is easy, but the payment for Blue Badge holders is a bit confusing. I ended up paying full price.
John T — Google review
Neat open shopping centre. Massive selection of quality shops. Well organised. Plenty of parking and reasonable selection of restaurants and coffee shops - it does get very busy at weekend and peak times. Fantastic experience when the weather is good.
Sam A — Google review
Great prices and variety of products from each designer outlet. Most of the famous designers have a store there. There are lots of options, too.

Nestled in Ashford, Kent, the Curious Brewery is a haven for beer enthusiasts and food lovers alike. Established in 2011, this iconic brewery unveiled its state-of-the-art facility in 2019 on the historic grounds of Beaver Road Primary School. The site holds significant historical value from World War II.
Wow what can I say, we booked a table for 5.15 and arrive around 15 minutes early. We were seated straight away. Water was on the table when we arrived, we ordered our drinks and then the food. We had some small plates to share for a starter, then we had pork belly and a fig and rocket salad. The food was amazing and so was the staff. Nothing was too much trouble and they were very friendly. We sat on a huge table (there was 3 of us) and it does state on the website that during busy periods, tables may need to shared. We did not have the tour, but bought some beers at the bar before we left. can't wait to return. Price did include service charge, which we were happy to pay for as the service was fab! 😊

Have wanted to visit here for ages on the rare occasion I’ve passed through Ashford, but timing had never worked. Glad I had the chance today. I can’t recall a better brewery bar experience. Very modern building but it still feels cosy inside, and you have great views of the brewery at work.

We had a really lovely lunch and were so pleasantly surprised. The food was top notch! I had the crispy chicken Caesar salad and can honestly say it was a great salad - packed with flavour and massive. Lovely atmosphere. Will definitely return.
Julia I — Google review
We visited here on a Tuesday evening for our anniversary. We had a warm greeting from Jess and had a fantastic table overlooking the brewery’s garden. The food was reasonably priced, three courses plus a glass of bubbly came to around £50 a head. Presentation is on point, food is full of flavour, served hot and full of delicate crispy sensations. Only down side is the design of the building and lack of soft furnishings means sound bounces about.
Greg D — Google review
Fabulous experience thank you to Ben for an amazing tour I liked all the drinks I tasted each one unique in their own way and Ben made it all super interesting especially the bit about using champagne yeast I did not expect that, definitely recommend coming here for a tour thoroughly enjoyed it and it's dog friendly which is an added bonus 🙂👍food and drink lovely too great service also from the serving team and chefs all brilliant from start to finish ❤️my only suggestion for improvement would be if the merchandise was available to buy from the brewery and not just online
Liz S — Google review
Rare 5/5 from me here... What a surprise this place was. Had the Caesar Salad with additional fries and it's honestly the best I've ever had. Packed with flavour MOIST chicken, crispy croutons, Lardons, lettuce and a tasty sauce. Excellent service and some nice pints too. Would and will defintely return.
Lazlo B — Google review
It’s a lovely place, we enjoyed it and would definitely come back! However, we thought it’s completely overpriced! It was 2 of us and we paid £160. We had 5 glasses of Brut Chapel Down , 2 starters and 2 mains. Steak was £30 so it’s like visiting the top restaurant in London but it was so chewy and impossibly to eat — below average so doesn’t worth £30 at all! Also, they couldn’t swap cheese inside the burger even though a different cheese was available in the menu. Other than that food was great, but still seems unreasonably expensive! For £160 you’d expect everything to be perfect .

Review for restaurant, not brewery tour. Had a meal with friends on my recommendation from when I ate there in June. Sadly menu has changed, not much to choose from, portions small, and had to order sides separate which bumped the cost up far to high for this establishment. You are overpricing yourselves now C Brewery. Can't fault service, waitress was great, attentive, but would not go back to eat there now, just far too overpriced and expensive for what you get. NOT IMPRESSED.

Hollywood Bowl Ashford offers a vibrant and lively atmosphere for a thrilling bowling experience. The multilane bowling alley provides uninterrupted play, complemented by an exciting arcade. Whether it's a celebration or casual outing, Hollywood Bowling is the place to create lasting memories. The on-site diner serves American comfort food and offers party services. Despite being packed, the staff efficiently cater to orders with quick and polite service.
Took advantage of the offer “two games and a drink” to entertain my son during half term. We’ve never visited before, but found the staff friendly and helpful. No shortage of equipment. Good atmosphere.

This was for my best friends 21st. We wanted to do something different and it was a surprise. Bowling was a great way to chat, healthy competition, have a couple drinks and just simply have fun. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to just do something, but book in advance, better deals and offers too :) will be returning soon!

A fun family experience for B-days and dates! The food is amazing, I had a chicken burger. It was lovely! I went on a school trip here!
Axl — Google review
We were here for our sons friend's birthday party. The party package included a game of bowling and a hot meal + drinks. Activity sheets and colouring pencils were provided for the children. The venue also has a good arcade and a bar so plenty of entertainment for everyone. I feel the prices could be better but I've been told if you go at certain times of day, it's half price. My only criticism is that the games are timed. So when the time runs out, that's an automatic end of play regardless of what turn you are on! I think that's a bit unfair, especially for the price you pay and, in this instance, if young children are playing. Overall a good place to go with the kids.

Always a pleasure here. I'm not a fan of the strip pin machines, but Always fun if it's not about the 300. OVER THE LINE!

Decided to go bowling for my nieces birthday (we are adults), booked 2 games online.. all going well. During our 2nd game we won a free game for 1 adult on a scratch tickets so thought we would use it straight away and pay for the other 2 of us to pay a third game. I’m from OS and have not had any problems using my card in this country. I paid and the transaction came up on my phone and my watch to say payment had been done but the girl (blonde hair, young and glasses on her head) came running over to us to say it was declined. I showed her the transaction on my bank but she was adamant it was declined and ran straight to the computers to turn our game off (we still hadn’t finished our second game), I had to argue and speak to a manager to get our machine back on to finish our game, we didn’t get given our free game voucher back and I’m going to have to argue with my bank to get a refund as they would not let us play on. I found the customer service disgustingly rude especially from the blonde woman I dealt with. I work in customer service and would lose my job if I was that rude to people in my country
Lisa M — Google review
Great atmosphere here. Music is on, lights are on, all the bowling allies we occupied, arcade area was busy and the kids love the penny machine although they are all 10p machines now. If you don't book you may not get a Lane, so booking is a must. Perfect for family days out and birthday parties. Drinks are relatively good prices, no more than what you'd pay in any other entertainment outlet. Always a good time had here

The Park Mall is a convenient and pleasant complex that offers ample parking, enjoyable shopping experiences, and all-weather dining options throughout the year. Upon visiting, one can easily observe the multitude of quality stores still operating within its premises. Although it may not provide an extensive range of shops, it remains a satisfactory location to indulge in retail therapy.
Great range of shops nice to see that the empty shops have been filled with charity shops, has poundstrecher and savers and Wilko all great shops and the little teapot tea rooms is a great cafe.

A dreadful and bland example of 1980's outdoor architecture. This mall is in the heart of this down-market town which offers little to the visitor or indeed resident. There are plans to knock this retail area down and the area will benefit if this occurs.

Restaurant
Nando's Ashford Designer Outlet is a popular Afro-Portuguese restaurant known for its flame-grilled chicken smothered in zesty chili sauce. One slight drawback is the requirement to settle the bill upfront, but customers are compensated with a complimentary drinking glass during payment. This glass can be refilled countless times from the self-service soft drinks machine that even offers ice. Despite concerns over service during the bustling Black Friday rush, Nando's Ashford exceeded expectations.
We visited over Christmas period, we came early and decided to stop at Nando’s at lunch, we got there at 12 so that we could grab a spot, so many people had this idea as it was already quite busy. We sat and ordered food, the server was great and gave us a nice cozy spot and asked regarding allergies that it must be ordered at the front and not via the we code as they are serious about allergies. If you do not have any allergies, the bonus is that you can order via qr code at your table so then you do not have to wait up front. The food came out and it was the wrong order big it was then soon corrected which was great! The food was really good as usual, I did try something new, this was the pita! That was great! Again great portion sizes, great flavour, fresh taste! The only thing was when it was busy, customers kept opening the doors and staring in them or not closing them upon leaving, we were say right by the doors and it was a cold day, for us we had to keep getting up to close the doors as I didn’t want to have to put my coat on to eat my food and having that breeze while trying to enjoy a warm cozy lunch was a little annoying. Overall Nando’s is great qua service, food quality, flavour and price!
Taya M — Google review
Conveniently located with the Ashford Designer Outlet in the newer section. Once inside, it feels a bit cramped - the tables are so close together that when walking to the back of the restaurant it's very much a single file affair. Great food and service - friendly front of house gave us a nice table by the window. There was a rat running outside but looked like he stayed on that side of the glass.
Ian F — Google review
Nando’s is Nando’s we expected Nando’s quality, well the food is normal except the chickens we ordered are a bit bland is like they didn’t put enough sauce, the sweet potatoes chips are decently well but there some questionable cleanliness and the amount of stains on plates and cutleries is just like they didn’t clean it than put it out for people to grab, in terms of service is normal because is mainly self serve.Overall is a normal but slightly worse experience of Nando’s .
Bruce L — Google review
I've been to better Nandos tbh. Had to exchange the garlic bread because it was stale! Had to wait for a seat because they were still cleaning tables. Good decor but it did seem that the store has already been there a while and not as shiny and new as I would have thought considering its age. Menu is the same as everywhere else do there is the consistency good expect. I won't go here again as there are other choices at the outlet to visit.
Shaun M — Google review
Visited Nando’s at Ashford Designer Outlet a few days ago. What a surprise! The staff were super friendly and helpful, beyond any other Nando’s I have ever visited, and I have been to a few, as Nando’s is my kid’s favourite restaurant chain!! Food was delivered quickly, hot, fresh, and served with smiles from the staff. A big shout-out goes to Rafaela and Matt for excellent service.

Absolutely incredible service. Even though everything is done through the app, the staff are still so amazingly helpful and friendly. The food is incredibly delicious and piping hot upon arrival. The cleanliness of the entire restaurant is absolutely amazing and the atmosphere is electric. Absolutely recommend for those who have had a nice day of shopping in the outlet and are looking for a cheap and affordable nice meal, nandos is the restaurant for you!!

This is My first time in Nando’s Ashford designer outlet ( newly opened)This one is a bit unique, they have an Africa theme including the music. The place is big and clean the food is nice and the chicken is tasty. Toilet is clean. I’m glad that they have Nando’s here ,it’s our go to favourite restaurant.

Food was lovely however staff are all miserable especially the host was on duty today ( brown hair with nose stud ). Nice steak and he enjoyed his lasagne . Plenty of it as well quick service and very friendly. I'm not local but I do visit fro. Time to time and would happily return .

Ordered from here this morning for breakfast and I have never seen such a mess thrown into a box the fact they looked like they had been swung round a few times in a bag I asked for bacon not to be over cooked but didn't expect it to turn up almost still alive. My partner ordered and extra sausage and never got it both breakfasts missing mushrooms neither portion of chips had salt vinegar or mayonnaise on as requested. Everything and I mean everything was engulfed in beans. We have never ever had such a poorly put together breakfast. Needless to say it all went straight in the bin and unfortunately will be the last time we order from here.

Fast food restaurant
Nestled conveniently on High Street in Ashford, KFC Ashford - High Street is a must-visit for fried chicken enthusiasts. This popular restaurant chain serves up its signature buckets of crispy chicken alongside a variety of combo meals and sides that are sure to satisfy any craving. The location benefits from high foot traffic, making it an easy stop while exploring the charming Tenterden area, known for its stunning timber-framed buildings and delightful independent shops.
Just in the high street and cheekily not too far from macdonalds restaurant. They receive good foot traffic into the restaurant, they is an option for click and collect, delivery at home or ordering to seat in. They have a good colour scheme, some nice but neutral to let the sun in when we have it. Tables are modern and compliment the colours and easier to clean. Food service was of good standard and arrived quite quickly for me to not have worry about anything else. The guy who served me was respectful and pleasant towards myself.

Worst ever food. They don't know the word hygiene and food safety. Recently found a long hair in their chicken they served and when i asked about this to the manager he was telling me that " This happens sometimes" and never even apologized for this that's the saddest thing. They are not really care about the food or the customers. Everytime we dined in KFC Ashford each time the taste of food was different. Always there chicken will always be oily and don't even know how to cook. They are serving like it's not there duty we are here for some money broh like that kinda attitude. This is not the way to handle a good franchise. Worst ever.

We ordered late at night through Uber and received our items. I ordered a fillet burger meal with an extra of gravy but the gravy was missing. I also got sweet corn which was also missing. To top it off my fries were also missing. Just really irritating, I'm still hungry... It was my cheeky treat. Thanks for that guys!! Avoid. Won't be going here again.

If you like KFC then this is the place for you! Great staff and the chicken is finger licking good. Papa John's Pizza is a go-to destination for pizza lovers seeking both classic and specialty options. This popular take-out and delivery chain offers an impressive variety of pizzas, including their unique Papadias—delicious folded pizzas that come with a delightful garlic dip. Customers rave about the less greasy, more flavorful pies compared to other shops, making each bite a treat. The menu also features tasty sides like chicken poppers and cheesy tater tots, ensuring there's something for everyone.
I've ordered from here many times for delivery and collection and can honestly say I've never been disappointed. The pizzas are the best I've had from any pizza shop, it's something in the way they make them, less greasy and more tasty than the others. I think the sides and the deals are different too, which gives them an edge and the best bit is the cinnapie, unique to the chain its an amazing dessert based on a pizza, just try it! This particular branch has always delivered with a smile, the food hot and fresh, always on time and sometimes they even pop a couple of pickled chillies in the box, if you have a spicy pizza. If you like spicy, try the Buffalo wings or sauce.

Sample of a pizza for 3 according Papa Jones. Absolutely ridiculous. The smallest and most overpriced pizza I ve had in my life. Deceitful marketing, wrong advertising and zero quality! Not sure how this kind of places still operate and no one checks on their practices and offerings! Save your money!!! I binned it and ordered a decent pizza from Domino's. Total waste of everything: money, time and nerves!

Ordered twice from here and both times order has not been what we had paid for. The first time the food was an hour and a half late/ cold and was wrong order. When rang the store they were rude and refused a refund and sent another pizza which we did not want by that point. This time every single item ordered did not come as advertised - dough balls were rectangular, bacon garlic bread was 4 small bits of bacon over the entire garlic bread - and both pizzas tasted awful and did not come as advertised. The meat toppings taste cheap and nasty.

Latest update 5.2.24 Advertised open in till 11, can’t order online because closed before 8pm this time! Called and got told excuses. Useless clowns. (edit. Still closed when advertised as open an hour early, think I've only had two bloody pizzas out of six or seven times trying to order in the advertised open hours. Plus the Sausage and Pepperoni never has the herbs on it again as advertised.) I fudging well miss Papa!!!) 2 recent separate occasions trying to order, 2 times closed over an hour earlier than advertised. Papa was meant to bless me but left me hungry. Shame on you 😂

I can't believe the shocking service I got from this branch of the franchise. I ordered on the ap, for home delivery of an order worth £30. It should have had a discount subtracted due to my last order being 30 minutes late, but this wasn't done at checkout. Over an hour later, with a delivery time of 20 minutes given on the ap, I called, to be told that they had emailed me to say that they would not deliver. They also refused a refund. I had to go and collect the pizza. When I did, it had been in the oven keeping warm for an hour, was dry and stale. When I complained, the owner came from the back room, was rude and obnoxious, seemed to think there was no issue with the poor service and couldn't seem to grasp why I would be annoyed. To top it off, he wasn't wearing a mask or gloves and was actually preparing food, no issues there in a pandemic. Needless to say the stale, cold hard, contaminated mess went in the bin and we ordered from domino's who delivered our hot, delicious and responsibly prepared virus free pizzas in 20 minutes from ordering. I know where I will be going in future.
Mark H — Google review
Completed the order on the app, all confirmed 15minutes later, app not showing any progress. Called to check to get told they don't have my order and the money should be refunded automatically. No apology, not even an offer to let me take your order now and make sure you get it asap. Absolutely terrible customer service. If you can't be bothered to try and satisfy your customers when you're in catering just get a different job!!! Useless doesn't cover it !!!!!
Matt O — Google review
Recently I have been having one bad experience after another with the Ashford branch of Papa Johns. I ordered 4 for a group of us and a delivery driver arrived with 2 of them. I explained to the driver that I had in fact ordered 4 pizzas and that I couldn't accept an order for 2. He said he would return to base and remake the entire order. 5 minutes later the next two pizzas arrived with a different driver. I then had to go through the process of calling in and getting the original two pizzas sent back out. As you can imagine, this isn't the sort of experience you want to be having when having a nice night in with friends. It was almost impossible to get through the branch when I was having these problems which just confounded the situation as possibly the most stressful experience I've ever had when buying a takeaway. Previous experiences in recent weeks have also included them not bringing the dips I've ordered and paid for and making mistakes with the pizzas, whether that be delivering the right one or forgetting ingredients. I'm not sure what kind of manager thinks this is a sensible approach to running a business but they won't be running for long as I am convinced customers will rightfully abandon them in droves. If you are thinking about ordering from this place, dont. I implore to buy your pizzas absolutely anywhere else.
Killer 2 — Google review
The customer services is excellent. We order pizza from Papa Johns Ashford a lot and they have delivered the pizza on time. Tonight they were bit late in delivering the pizza and I called their store, the manager then called the driver to deliver it asap, the driver arrived and the manager offered the PIZZA for free, they didnt charge anything for the order. I must write this as a disclaimer that this should not be taken as promotion for asking it for FREE if they get late in delivering.

Nature & Parks
Victoria Park, located just outside of the town center in Ashford, is a 17-acre green space dating back to the 19th century. The park was established to provide leisure facilities as the town's population grew rapidly. It features the iconic Hubert Fountain and a riverside walk along the Great Stour River. The park is adorned with trees planted to honor important townspeople and members of the royal family. Throughout summer, Victoria Park offers various activities for families, including gardening workshops.
Victoria park is always lovely to visit. The sunken garden flowers are such beauty to behold , my daughter loves the play ground and feeding the ducks. it’s perfect for the whole family

I love the park, even though I don't have the lake that's supposed to be there. It is my highlight in Ashford.
Eliška H — Google review
Love it!! Perfect for kids and families walks, picnics or just sitting for a coffee/ tea.
Adela R — Google review
I was surprised at how much this park has been 'revamped'. The cafe is modern, the toilets are clean and well looked after. The park for the children has lots of things to play on, the sandpit is clean. Lots of space, picnic areas and of course, the river stour that runs through to dip your toes in.
T ( — Google review
Beautiful park with lots for the children, countless areas of water, loads to see and do. Would recommend for a day trip with the kids, has a cafe and toilets, as well as a free car park.

What a beautiful park, and so lucky it's just behind us. In the morning, it's not so busy, perfect for mothers with babies. Update: This Park recently had a face-lift, there are more adequate stuff for under 2s, there is a sand pit, a small slide for babies and so much more. Toilets are super clean.
Suzanne L — Google review
In 2023 Ashford Borough Council put a huge effort into significantly remodeling Victoria Park . We now have a variable height lake fed from the Great Stour river with a small viewing balcony and a twin plank zig zag bridge. Nearby is a fun and popular Asphalt bicycle pump track which is also great for scooters. There is a new entry point into the park behind the lake over a timber footbridge spanning the river from the new flats in Leacon Road. Throughout the park are many public Barbeque stations for "bring your own", together with special bins for "cool" ash and rubbish A wild life pond sits below the "Rockery" Sensory Gardens with winding paths and a few chairs. Nearby is the new exciting and fun children's play equipment area including a zip line and mini trampoline. Also, the new cafe is bright and modern serving delicious hot drinks as well as cold and treats. The area by the Hubert Fountain has been remodeled providing new neat access points to the area. All in all, it's a really good and clever update to our local park. Well done!!

Nestled in the heart of Ashford, the Memorial Gardens are a beautiful tribute to local history and community spirit. Established in two phases, this serene space was gifted by residents who have left their mark on the town through namesakes and businesses. The gardens were officially dedicated in 1924 to honor soldiers who lost their lives during World War I.
This serene memorial garden and public open space was laid out in the 1920s on land donated to the town. A charming avenue of chestnut trees line both the east and west entrances. Links with Europe are also celebrated in tapestry bedding, depicting the escutcheons of Ashford and her twinned towns of Fougéres and Bad Munstereifel. If you found my review or photos helpful please leave a quick thumbs up 👍 Thank you!

Located in the town centre, there is plenty of space for people to seat and have there own time. Multiple entrances to the park, and there is a bowling club near by as well a police station near by. The garden is well maintained throughout the year. There is benches dotted around the park

On the eleventh hour of the eleventh minute came peace. The end of the first world war. The most bloodiest war ever seen in history. It was a war of the new age of weaponry and millions of men and children lost their lives. This is the place to remember the fallen. The father's, the grandfather's and loved one's. May one day come will we no longer find it in our nature to kill each other. Need we never forget.

The Ashford Memorial Gardens are opposite the library and are always open. It is kept very well and has plenty of areas to sit on the grass and a few benches. This is this year's display, a spitfire made out of plants. A very nice garden to eat your lunch.

We really enjoyed our “Christmas Special” room…. Loads for us to do and whilst the room was admittedly not large it was very well laid out with some clever puzzles. Sam was an excellent host, I wish all were as keen as him to make sure that we had a great time. Thanks Sam. See you again soon, Leigh

We've been to Pressure Point Escape Rooms twice now and have loved every minute. The staff are friendly and are willing to help if you ask for it. The rooms are professionally set up and really give you the feeling you're in that place. We'll definitely be returning and we recommend others do the same.

Our game master Sam was brilliant today. They were thorough in telling us what to expect and did an excellent de-breif after we completed the puzzle and we had a good laugh about some of the good (and not so good) bits we did as a team. The room we did was broken into 3 parts and we gained confidence as a team throughout. The puzzles were tricky and we needed a couple of prompts but it was very enjoyable and would definitely go again

Godinton House & Gardens is a magnificent historic estate located just 10 minutes from Ashford's town center in the picturesque countryside of Great Chart. The Jacobean house and medieval hall offer guided tours, while the formal gardens boast an ancient yew hedge. The estate dates back to the 14th century and was owned by the Toke family for over 400 years, with extensive renovations carried out in the 17th century by Nicholas Toke.
Stunning house & gardens. The guided house tour lasts an hour and there's a lot of standing involved but it's very interesting and the guided are so knowledgeable. The gardens are beautifully landscaped.

Excellent place for a day out. Beautiful surroundings for the drive there, lovely maintained gardens, with sculptures, water features, an array of plants and trees. Beautiful sights into fields miles wide. Would highly recommend. Didn't manage to visit the house itself as it's only open on a Friday and Saturday.

Pizza restaurant
Super Pizza is an impressive application that offers a user-friendly and easily understandable experience. The delivery service is prompt, ensuring the timely arrival of a visually appealing pizza. The "your choice" option provides a delightful selection of toppings to choose from, with an even distribution and generous quantity on the thin and crispy crust. The pizza sauce adds another layer of flavor to enhance the overall taste.
Haven’t been in here myself but I get takeaway quite a bit from here, always fast and efficient. Whoever is delivering is always very polite especially considering my house is a really awkward one to find. People need to be a bit nicer, there is going to be times there’s a mad rush and things don’t go to plan, mistakes happen. But for me I’ve never personally had a problem.
Jasmine J — Google review
Super pizza had become the traditional way in which our family celebrate someone leaving for a trip or coming back from uni. We have been eating from them for 6+ years and have never been disappointed. Their delivery times are often much faster than advertised on delivery websites. Great prices too. We are particular fans of the Mexican passion pizza and always fight for the last slice.

Really good pizza! Only issue was when I arrived for collection, one of the employees started shift and he turned up with his thumb fully up his nose, picking it. I made sure to pay attention to who was handling the pizza!

Delivery time was good, but both super pizzas were ordered with extra pineapple which are £2.50 but had hardly any on it. Otherwise fine. Picture shows Ham and Pineapple pizza, so with the extra it should be bursting.

Absolutely shocking, just ordered pizza meal from here, chips were over. Cooked and cold, garlic bread was burnt, pizza over Done and rock hard, bbq wings like charcoal, use to be really nice, not. Sure if they have changed hands but it's gone right down hill, such a shame

We always enjoy the takeaway we get from here. Sometimes some things are a little over, such as the garlic bread, but we generally have a good experience most times and we order semi frequently.

With its inviting lounge area and charming outdoor tables, this restaurant sets the perfect ambiance for any occasion.
This is one of our favourite restaurants and once again, they didn't let us down. We booked last minute tables just before Valentine's Day and yesterday(twice in quick succession is a sure sign of delicious food😍). Their Momos are gorgeous and we enjoyed the Samoosa Chaat, Indian Chow Mein and Hariyal Lamb. Last night their Non-Veg Thali (no pics) was outstanding 😍😍😍. I would highly recommend Everest Inn as their food is simply beautiful.

We were met with a warm and pleasant greeting, and were able to get seated straight away. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, and you can tell they look after the place as it was immaculate. The food arrived promptly and was wonderful. The aroma of the place from outside was equalled by the taste of the food inside. Nice portion sizes and all fresh made with what seems like very fresh ingredients.

This place has such a variety! The staff were so nice and understanding. Went with my family and we asked for less oil in our dishes, the restaurant did a great job at that! Some of the food was alright, the honey Siracha wings were the best I’m not going to lie! Though, we ordered a mixed grill that came sizzling in the pan onto the table, and plenty more. THEIR MOCKTAIL DRINKS WERE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING 😻 my mum and I couldn’t stop drinking them, if I remember their names, I’ll come back to edit. And the Tarka Dal I ate.. I wish I ordered another! That was the best Dal I’ve EVER had! The meat wasn’t that flavourful in my opinion but some of the people with me thought it was great, others weren’t that keen :( It was all so lovely, I’d definitely go againnn We even got mint chocolates in the end 🤭

Been eating with them for over 5 years and every time it’s the best I’ve had. Lovely staff very welcoming and always updating the decorations which is lovely. Foods great I’ve eaten from probably over 50 takeaways in my life and they are the best
Greg W — Google review
Delivery driver was very polite and nice. Food was dry. And tasteless. Chicken balls were dry and over crispy. The chips tasted and looked like they were yesterday's old reheated. Spring roll was supposed to be large and as you can see it is over cooked and dry. Spent over £60 and may have just burnt it. It was the worst I have had in such a long time. Will not be using again. Such a shame
Nikki S — Google review
Unfortunately food was delivered promptly and delivery driver was polite. However the food was really poor quality. Pancake roll was ever so greasy, chips tasted as though they had been reheated. Chow Mein and Curry was the worst that we had ever had from any Chinese. Really disappointed
Paul B — Google review
Always been a brilliant Chinese. Staff polite and efficient. The food is exceptional. Every item has a very different flavour, unlike many places where dishes all taste the same. Fresh ingredients and plenty of it.
Ian W — Google review
Absolutely terrible. Turned up luke warm. The £9 special rice was a box of rice with a sprinkling of prawns and peas. Ordered the duck spring roll starter, £6.50 and absolutely tiny. It used to be the best Chinese in Ashford, not anymore. Proper pony.
James B — Google review
Truly awful Chinese! thought we'd try this for the first time as was recommended it by a few people I was told delivery would be within the hour and it took 1 hour 15 mins arrived cold and to top it off the food was actually vile! pork in black bean was flavourless and more like a gravy sauce that a black bean one! no spice at all either and the dish was 40% water chestnuts chicken with chilli and salt was chewy tough and also Lacking in flavor! chips were ok and prawn crackers were stall! SAVE YOUR MONEY OR GO SOMEWHERE ELSE 🤢🤢
Itsme — Google review
Upon eating the chow mein, my wife spat out what looked like an individual strand of metal from a scouring brush. Not being completely sure if perhaps it came from the kitchen while transporting the food to dishes, we carried on eating, suspiciously. A few mouthfuls later and a check of the leftovers in original packaging. Offered only a refund on the chow mein and not the £20 delivery charge. Still feeling a bit ill at what I did eat. Avoid!!!!!!!!
Jez H — Google review
The most salty Chinese food I've ever had, to the point where my entire mouth hasn't recovered the day after. The chicken balls were overcooked and the meat itself stringy and cheap. The prawns hadn't been de-veined and ended up being fed to my dog. Overall rubbish experience and I'll avoid in the future.

First time coming here after hearing really good things. The food was delicious, good portions and well presented. The atmosphere was lovely; nicely decorated, clean and cosy. The service was a bit slow and was awhile until we ordered food but the staff were kind and friendly and I think it was only a bit slow due to being a few days before Christmas and quite busy. I look forward to going back to try other things off their menu. Highly recommend.

Service was very good but we got there reasonably early for a Sunday roast. It was definitely livening up before we left. Roast beef was very good but was lacking in veg. Only had red cabbage and a carrot mash. Strange as roasts bought out to other tables later on had green beans as well. Other than that the meal was very good.
Mark M — Google review
We popped in on the off chance and I’m so glad we did. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with a warm welcome. We chose a table and our drinks were brought over. The waitress was friendly and I went with her recommendation and it was spot on. I had the chilli BTW. The food was exceptional and the pub had a really good atmosphere. After such a wonderful main course we just had to have a dessert, again mouth-wateringly good. All homemade with great ingredients. We will definitely be going back
Peter M — Google review
We visited here on a Sunday lunchtime, having made a fairly, last minute booking for a party of 12 plus a dog! On arrival, we all felt that the pub was pretty cold, due to the lack of heating, and we had to sit with our coats on for part of the meal. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The decor was quite traditional. Good choice of menu, especially for a Sunday as so many pubs just do a roast. However, we were one of the furthest tables from the kitchen, consiquently, although the food was flavoursome and cooked well, most of it was fairly cold. It probably would have been better if, instead of 1 waitress bringing our food to the table, they had all chipped in to deliver all the food more quickly. I don't think we would visit again
Debbie C — Google review
Really good food and they are attentive to details the only snag is they are always very busy as they are very popular. The food is delicious and comes out piping hot and still sizzling away. There is a big variety of food for different parts of the world so you are not stuck for choice, the e place is very clean and the staff are friendly. I rated 4 stars because they could do with having more staff on at one time just to meet there demands they have.
Sarah C — Google review
I had the roast beef and it was delicious. Pleasant, helpful staff. Love experience
Ross H — Google review
We dined here with friends on a Friday night (pre-booked)and what a lovely local pub in Ashford it is. The staff were attentive, friendly and informative on their menu when questioned. Or meal choices did not disappoint. The chilli beef ( not hot) nachos for starters were amazingly tasty and a large portion, enough for two really. The lightly fried brie was nicely crunchy and the cheese melted on the tongue, side salad was fresh. Our mains of 3 belly porks were amazing, laid on a bed of deliciously creamy mash and green cabbage, topped with the wonderful crackling. Our friends agreed who'd chosen the same . I had scampi, chips, fresh salad and homemade slaw which again was very nice. Dessert for 2 people was a chocolate brownie and ice-cream...yum! Didn't need it after the the two courses but was a naughty treat. Sorry no pic, but our friends devoured it quickly and said it was moist and chocolatey and the combination was fantastic. All washed down with various tipples. We'll definitely return. Great pub.

Nice lake once famous for the world's largest carp called "two tone" at 67lbs ! Well i was visiting william harvey hospital and fancied a 5k so jogged down to the lake and ran around it, lovely lake to just chill in peace and quiet..👌

Great for a wander around the lake & loads of places for the dog to cool down. Keep dog on leads & watch out for people fishing & its always quiet. A few routes to walk around or back thru lanes. Believe there is sometimes a drinks place but never seen it.

Took my autistic children to see the ducks , loved seeing the babies. The only thing I can say is to put a note on the entrance to let people know that anglers only to pass through gate as I drove in and got locked in if I knew I would of parked on the road up top but still a lovely place to take the family

Beat place to have a walk around in ashford. Plenty of spaces to have a break and meditate, jog and have a picnic . Also the stour river runs alongside. Very beautiful

Nice country park with lake. Evening stroll was peaceful, night fishermen set up on river pitches. Calm and bright sunset.
J H — Google review
We enjoyed a very relaxing walk around the lakes - New picnic tables installed since our last visit and my understanding is that there are more on the way. There's a new coffee spot - Two Tones on The Lake - I understand they also do homemade pizzas on some evenings. A very rewarding visit.
Paul K — Google review
Like many other country parks around lakes, housing developments at one end and lake side walks around the other. Fairly bland walks, didn't see a great deal of wildlife.

Willesborough Windmill Trust Ltd is a charming smock mill that dates back to 1869 and has been lovingly restored. It operates a 14-horsepower Hornsby engine to produce stoneground wholemeal bread flour when there's no wind. Visitors can witness the sweeps turning on windy days and enjoy light bites at the onsite cafe during weekends and Bank Holiday Mondays. Families can also engage in interactive activities, such as making their own flour using quern stones.

What a gem! We visited with our three and seven year old, we were the only ones on the tour, the guide was fantastic with them. A great place to visit for all ages. Lovely cafe and friendly volunteers. We found out about the mill through the wheels of time scheme, so glad we did. Looking forward to returning for one of the special events the mill runs

A really enjoyable visit. We went with our baby and were lucky to have the tour. The guide was excellent at making it interesting. The mill has a welcoming atmosphere, with a nice café and friendly volunteers. 5£ for entry.

Had our wedding here on Saturday 30th, absolutely lovely day. Pat is a lovely, friendly lady, & her helpers are too. The Windmill will always hold a special place in my heart now, & we will visit regularly too. Full of happy, sunny memories. I would deffo recommend holding your wedding here. 💒💍🍰❤️💙Xx

Ran by volunteers, this is a wonderful place to visit with the family. A great insight into a working windmill, with the chance to buy some of the milled flour in the cafe. Very reasonably priced for the tour and the cafe is well priced too.
Zoe E — Google review
This Windmill is actually quite a surprise, because rather than being out in the country it's tucked away behind the M20, other main roads and a petrol station... but you wouldn't know it when you're there. It's over 150 years old and is run by a warm and friendly team of volunteers who have extensive knowledge of the area and Mill. They demonstrate how the millstones work together to change the coarseness of the flour, and allow children to try grinding wheat. They told us at the time we visited that it was due a bit of maintenance, small repairs and a new coat of paint, so it could have looked a bit better but the experience was still quiet, warm and friendly. They have a lovely selection of cakes and scones too.

Nature preserve
Nestled in the heart of Ashford, Kent, the Ashford Green Corridor is a sprawling 117-acre haven that beautifully blends nature with recreation. This local nature reserve features an array of parks, serene lakes, charming ponds, and lush meadows. It's not just a feast for the eyes; it's also a sanctuary for wildlife like voles, kingfishers, and bats. Visitors can enjoy various play areas and open spaces perfect for games and sports.
Although has the potential to be a beautiful nature reserve the maintenance to the site is very poor the river stour that plays host to egrets, herons and grey wagtails is constantly blocked with litter including plastics. The river banks are heavily littered with fast food debris and plastic bottles and beer cans.

Churches & Cathedrals
Nestled in the heart of Ashford, St Mary the Virgin Church stands as a timeless testament to history and architecture. With roots tracing back nearly a millennium to Anglo-Saxon times, this stunning medieval church has been captivating visitors since its current structure was completed in the late 13th century. The church underwent significant renovations by Sir John Fogge in the 15th century, enhancing its gothic charm that we admire today.
Small, intimate venue with loads of character. I enjoyed getting up close and personal with Omar when he blasted the funk out of Ashford! This is my ideal type of venue to enjoy appreciating music. Personally I HATE large venues. Here I could get right up to the stage and enjoy watching/listening/dancing. The staff were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was filled with fun and joy.

Regrettably secured mid morning on the first day of August, the grounds/churchyard were however accessible. The church is a fine building bounded on all sides by residential and museum property of different ages, with an iron railing around and a surrounding footpath beyond. The churchyard has many dated gravestones, established tress and shrubs, with a very peaceful outlook given there is no road access, despite its very central location in Ashford.

Revelation is a captivating venue nestled in the heart of Ashford, renowned for its eclectic mix of music and arts. This award-winning space showcases both international artists and local talent, ensuring a rich cultural experience for all visitors. The atmosphere is enhanced by its stunning architecture, originally a parish church, which adds an intriguing charm to every performance. Attendees rave about the excellent sound quality and efficient bar service that complements their evenings out.
Another excellent evening at the Revelation! It's a great venue in the centre of Ashford. Plenty of options close by for dinner beforehand and a simple reasonably priced bar at the venue. This time we were there to watch Just Floyd, an excellent Pink Floyd tribute act. Every act I've been to at the Revelation has been first class.

We had a fabulous evening at this wonderful music venue watching Katherine Priddy with George Boosma and their support act Sam Kelly. We had front row seats, in a 250 strong crowds, with upstairs seats also filled. Plenty of helpful volunteers made the event very comfortable for us all. I'm looking forward to our next concerts there.

Converted / dual use Anglican church. Church services + hired out as an entertainment venue. Seating is either pews in the balcony with some restricted viewing in places (unless at the front on the middle), or chairs on the flat on the ground floor. Toilets and a 'makeshift' bar. No parking, but large public (paid) car park nearby.

McDonald's is a beloved fast-food institution that has stood the test of time, renowned for its delicious burgers and crispy fries. A visit to McDonald's on Ashford High Street is always a delightful experience, thanks to the hardworking staff who are not only friendly but also great with kids. The food is consistently cooked to perfection and served promptly, making it an ideal spot for families. With reasonable prices and fun activities like coloring sets available for children, it's a family-friendly haven.
Clean and tidy McDonald’s. They have some nice music going at times and the staff were really nice and overall the place was quite clean. Nice burgers and fries. Quick service

So dissapointed.I came back home with food for my daughter and found this. I don't know what that even is. It should be a large crispy chicken and bacon wrap. There is no mayo no salad no nothing. The service is terrible we want a refund.
Jolanta E — Google review
Excellent service from Ryan - best McDonald's in the world! Ryan definitely improved my experience by a huge amount and made me feel welcome and catered to
Tristan K — Google review
Me and my friend got kicked out for no reason. A McDonald's worker named Robert with a red and black striped tie has kicked us out, blaming us for screaming when another group of kids did. We were eating our food next to them and don't know them. This is horrible customer service, won't be coming back here again. Sort this out!! Or in suing.
Rad S — Google review
The food was good but the manager was a disgrace. Went into the toilet to change my baby to which they opened the disabled toilet. I came out of the toilet and the workers had blocked the entrance with the condiment table. I was unable to get the pram out so moved it. The manager shouted over in a rude way saying it’s there for a reason. I said I’m trying to get my baby out. How can I get out of if I don’t move it. She responded with another rude gesture. Once I got baby out I go to push it back. She shouts don’t worry about it. Realising she had spoken to us wrongly she says thank you and I walked off. If it was a disabled person they would have been trapped and wouldn’t have been able to escape. Really poor service. Won’t be going back
Jamie M — Google review
Don't order delivery from this place. I don't know why, but you'll be waiting more than an hour for something to arrive. Maybe it's better on site? I wouldn't risk it though.

Subway is a casual fast-food restaurant that allows customers to customize their own sandwiches and salads. It offers a variety of healthy choices for those who are conscious about their diet. While the taste is as expected from Subway, there is a lack of halal options, although they do have some vegetarian choices available. The cookies can be slightly dry, but overall, the food is satisfactory. One standout employee named Yousef receives praise for being friendly and helpful.

Sent me the completely wrong order, would not answer phone to rectify this so was left £30 down and none of the food we had ordered.
Beth D — Google review
I had an extremely disappointing experience at the Subway branch in Ashford, UK. The service was unacceptable. One of the staff members, an Indian boy named Jazz or Jess, was extremely rude and disrespectful. He behaved as if being in the UK gave him the right to speak down to others, especially those he assumed were from outside the country. His attitude was arrogant, unprofessional, and completely against the values of a global brand like Subway. I urge Subway UK to take immediate action and review the behavior of staff at this location. Customers deserve to be treated with respect, regardless of their background.
CAPTAIN W — Google review
Excellent food with great taste, with the usual Subway flexibility of choosing as many salad and sauce combos as you like. Service here has so far been great. Only let down by the 'compact' interior with just three tables, but clean and comfortable.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely delicious and belly-busting breakfast! Every bite was satisfying and full of flavour — exactly what you want to start your day right. The kids’ meals were generous and such great value for money, which is always a big plus for families. The staff were so friendly and welcoming too, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommend if you’re after hearty food and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere!

Found this after a quick Google search for a bite to eat whilst on the road and now we're kicking ourselves for not having come here before. 30 seconds off of a junction we've used many times and countless opportunities we've missed for a great lunch. Naturally, we had the pie and mash and as someone who has grown up with both South and East London options, this was just as good as my memories. Served with a spoon and chilli vinegar you already know its going to be good. You might also think tea is just tea but somehow this even tasted exactly like I make at home. Service was friendly, knowledgeable and quick, the place was bright and clean and whilst parking can be tricky with limited spaces out front shared with other businesses you can park down the street and walk down easily enough. Can't wait to come back, thank you
Jessica D — Google review
Best fry up in Kent! We only ever come here for breakfast, so we haven't tried their lunch items. However, their breakfast is incredible. They have a few different fry up options for you to choose from, I always get a set 1, and I change the option for chips or bubble to hash browns. The set 1 and other options comes with crusty bread or toast and a tea, coffee or cold drink. It is cash only, but there is a BP around the corner with a cash point. However it does have a £2.50 charge.
Jack B — Google review
They’re very busy — a good sign, because the breakfast is always fresh and the sausages are tasty! They also have a hygiene rating of 5, which is something I always look for. Definitely a solid spot for a good breakfast.
Gi G — Google review
Incredible place for a proper “Full English” breakfast. We stop here on our travels using the Eurotunnel to and back from France. I love their generously buttered thick slices of toast. All portions are incredibly generous as well. They have a full English for vegetarians complete with vegetarian sausages. Remember to bring cash as it’s cash only. There is an ATM right across the street at the gas station.

Absolutely amazing staff! We did a last minute Christmas party of 16 and the kitchen absolutely nailed it! I ordered a Burrito Salad Bowl with chicken and it was great. Just needed a bit more sauce but will definitely recommend it. The brownie with ice cream was also great. Many of us had the Christmas dinner which was quite good. Overall a great party and brilliant hospitality.

Visited Ashford to meet old friends for my birthday, ordered a Guinness and the server correctly said about a little wait to settle however after 10 minutes or so had transpired (wasn’t too busy at the time) another bar member asked if we needed serving and I mentioned about the missing Guinness, the next thing the original female server stormed over with the pint giving mouth and attitude plus dirty looks about settling time, initial pour plus a 2 minutes settling then finishing off should be approx 3 minutes in total not 10 minutes as I pointed out.. bad bad service
Niall B — Google review
Unacceptable experience – discriminatory and disrespectful. Staff told a customer to clean up a dropped mess, rather than handling it themselves. This is not only unprofessional, but also unacceptable in any hospitality setting. What made it worse was the clear racial bias we witnessed. Security was rude and aggressive, telling us to leave if we didn’t clean it up — even though we hadn’t finished our food or drinks. Meanwhile, other customers (specifically white/English individuals) were treated completely differently — no ID checks, no pressure, no confrontations. It felt like we were being singled out purely because of our race or background. That kind of discriminatory behavior has no place in any public space. Deeply disappointed by how the situation was handled — we expected basic respect, and received the exact opposite. Definitely won’t be going back.
Parbat L — Google review
i ordered a breakfast muffin and there was short, curly, hair in it that i can only pray came from someone’s head and not elsewhere.

If you love the taste of charcoal, Wetherspoon has you covered. My burger was so burnt I half expected it to come with a fire extinguisher.
Sanjib L — Google review
We had a very disappointing experience here. As the only Nepalese customers, we were singled out and asked to show our ID while others were not, which felt discriminatory and unfair. On top of that, the place was not well-kept — there were chips spilled on the floor that no one bothered to clean. This kind of treatment and lack of cleanliness left us feeling very unwelcome

Located within the picturesque grounds of Eastwell Manor, The Hawking Centre offers a unique and immersive falconry and bird of prey experience. Visitors can interact with a variety of majestic birds including owls, hawks, vultures, eagles, and falcons. Whether opting for a half or full-day experience, guests have the opportunity to learn the art of flying these magnificent creatures from their own hand.
Got this experience for my girlfriend for her birthday last year. Have also done the experience myself in previous years and as I hoped she loved every second of it. Zoe our handler for the experience made it so much better with her enthusiasm, knowledge and rather accurate and amusing bird impressions. Highly recommended experience for anybody you’ll have a good day out.
Sarah L — Google review
We had a fantastic day of flying birds of prey with Paul, learning about each bird throughout the day. Would absolutely recommend and do again, thank you Paul for hosting and Zoe for organising.
Sara B — Google review
My sister and I spent the day flying birds of pray at the Hawking Centre last week and can thoroughly recommend this experience. Zoe, the handler, was friendly, engaging, informative and very good with some children who were a bit apprehensive. We thought she handled the birds sensitively and made allowances for their mood and natural behaviour. It was lovely to see how much she cares for her job and the birds she looks after. She was very observant and intuitive about the different birds moods or if something (eg a dog) was upsetting them.
CLL — Google review
What a day! Had the full day VIP experience bought for myself by my Wife for Father's say. Wife came along to spectate. Nadia was brilliant, and the birds were unbelievable, especially Moet the eagle, and Mavis the vulture! Acrually they were ALL fantastic. Lunch wasn't the best, but we weren't hungry, and the day was about the birds! Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and the Wife was actually terrified of birds when we got our first parrot five year's ago!
Mike F — Google review
We booked the experience on a whim and I am so glad we did. It was an absolute highlight of our holiday. We had not expected to be so close to the birds, it was just beautiful to see them fly and land on your arm and you can really tell the handlers love their animals and understand what they need. We had a wonderful time, learned a lot and can only recommend everyone to go.

Well what amazing day out. A massive thank you to Paul this guy what he doesn't know about these amazing birds turely outstanding. The group i was with ask him so many questions and he knew everything about these birds. So a big thank from Steve and lesley for such a lovely day.

Fantastic experience flying the big four! Zoe was amazing, very informative and you’re guaranteed to come away knowing something new. The birds were all stunning and had so much personality. I can’t recommend the experience enough, a really wonderful gift for anyone who loves birds.

What an amazing day!!! We had a full day experience (definitely recommend the full day - time flies!), Paul is such a great guy - knowledgeable, patient, helpful and amusing. We had 30mins with each of the birds and had real quality time to fly and feed them and ask questions. Compared to other falconry experiences this is the real deal - thanks Paul, we loved it!

Specialty Museums
The Ashford Museum, located in a Grade II listed 17th-century building at the heart of Ashford, offers a captivating journey through the town's history. Visitors can explore exhibits on various aspects such as the Aldington Gang of 19th-century smugglers, local businesses, wartime experiences, and the town's significance as a railway junction. The museum also features artifacts and photographs from forgotten prisoner of war camps, medical equipment from former hospitals, and an array of railway memorabilia.
We went to make a boat trip. It took about 45 minutes and 42 pounds for three of us to go back and forth. The guide was very patient and hardworking. He did not stop explaining for 45 minutes.

Not open on the Saturday - and that despite the already extremely limited opening hours! 🙄 Tha understands this place be manned by volunteers, but, perhaps it is time for them to 'give up the ghost'? - Ashford, whilst not exactly a ghost town, was little better than a morgue... this begs the question - who they are there to serve?🤷🏻‍♂️

A fantastic museum with a lot of history about Ashford and how it's changed over the years. There's plenty of different things to see, with a big focus on the railway and how Ashford grew around it. Suitable for all ages
Andrew B — Google review
Visited Ashford museum and it was an amazing experience. It gives a great insight about the timeline of railways in Ashford and has telltales from the world wars as well. The train parts, pictures from the past and miniature train model fascinated the kids much. They also enjoyed getting locked up in a little jail , in the section showing police forces items. The staff there was very friendly, kind and helpful and gave a lot of amusing information.
Dr. Z — Google review
Visited the museum today, and what a lovely place it is. The exhibits are informative and well presented. They have everything from model trains to woolly mammoth tusks! The museum is set in the old grammar school by the church, and the main room itself is so interesting - nooks for slate tablets, leaver's names carved into the walls, teacher and usher chairs. Kids can get put into prison, so be good! You can also see a gruesome collection of surgical implements and an ambulance stretcher wagon. Run by a dedicated group of volunteers who have a clear passion for the work and the history. Well done all!

Brimful of Ashford's history. The volunteers are helpful and knowledgeable. The guided walking tour is very good. I didn't know so much of the historic town remained, in no small part due to the Trust's work.

The Mark IV British tank, located in Ashford's St Georges Square, is a significant piece of history as the last surviving example of its kind. This tank was presented to the people of Ashford in 1919 and has been preserved as an official war memorial. After being used as an electricity sub-station for several decades, it was restored and repainted to its original World War I colors.
“This tank was presented to the people of Ashford on 1 August 1919 by Captain Walter Farrar MC, F Battalion Tank Corps in recognition of their splendid response to the National War Savings appeal. Now a Grade II Listed War Memorial, Ashford's Tank is the sole surviving example on public display in the country. The Mark IV played an important role on the home front. Many of the training vehicles from Bovington toured the UK to encourage purchases from the National War Savings appeal. After the war 265 of the Mark IVs were gifted to the towns that had raised the most. Ashford was one of those towns and on 1 August 1919, No '245' was delivered by rail and met by a Tank Corps Crew who drove it to St. George's Square, where it has remained ever since. She was de-activated by the removal of her rear drive sprockets and in 1929 her engine was removed to allow an electricity substation to be installed, which was in use until 1972.” If you found my photos interesting please leave a quick thumbs up 👍 Thank you 🫡

Tank from the First World War era that is out on display for you to look at. Kept in great condition.

This Great War tank is what many remember the town for! It's been renovated lately and is now sheltered under an impressive canopy. Very few towns have their own tank, so the town can be proud of this one.

One of the last 7 tanks of this type left in the world. Good to be able to freely see and touch it in the location where it was parked back in 1919.

Soul food restaurant
I had an amazing dining experience at Jay's Soul Food. The goat curry and jerk chicken, along with the mac and cheese, were absolutely delicious. I also loved the patties they served. The staff member I spoke to on the phone was extremely friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant for its fantastic food and excellent customer service. It was a pleasant surprise to discover such a good African restaurant in Kent. The overall experience surpassed my expectations.
Me and two of my friends went to this restaurant tonight. This was my first ever experience of this cuisine, and it was amazing. I had the beef suya with jollof rice. Food was perfectly cooked, tender, tasted incredible and succulent. Very polite staff who provided an amazing service. Warm and welcoming atmosphere with great music at perfect volume. The drinks served were great too. Fantastic price for the amazing quality of food we received. I will be coming here again and have recommend to others.

Amazing authentic food cooked with love. 10/10 I had the mixed meat pepper soup with plantain Fufu and more plantain. Meat was incredibly tender, succulent and flavourful, the broth had great depth with an unmissable scotch-bonet-pepper-kick. Amazing value and friendly staff.

I find myself in Ashford a few times a month on work visits; with the tiresome duties and/or responsibilities of work one always needs the desired refuel as well as good kick to the soul that Jays Soul Food gives to the palate. I dropped in from DurBar a skip across the street This week and I was reminded there is only one place to be and dine in when yearning Soul Food whether it be the offering of a Pan African Menu or right down to Montego bay with a taste of the Caribbean. As always it is a repetitive delight to dine in whilst in Ashford, as neither the Hilton and/or Travelodge I frequently stay in have comparable distinctive offerings served with distinction. Front of House Staff depicts welcoming diversity as well as Jay herself who is also caring and on hand ensuring everything is ok. Not to mention other patrons who were locals having a pint or two who sent not one but two bottles, one after the other of Premium Tusker Larger over to our table. Jays Soul Food is the place that keeps on giving! There is no place like this and/or comparable on this side of Kent!

A Taste of Home I'm a native of the US. I had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant while visiting my partner in the UK a few weeks ago. I saw the sign to the restaurant that said soul food, and I asked my partner, "What does Ashford know about soul food? We have to check this out." We were greeted immediately upon entry by the waiter and the owner. We asked for a menu, and when I saw the offerings, I got so excited. Patties, jerk chicken, curry goat, jollof rice, etc. This was the first time in my many visits that I was able to order and eat food that I grew up eating. Let me tell y'all, the food was amazing. We tried the beef and lamb patties, plantains, and got a curry goat and rice and peas to go home. It was finger licking good. It was so good I had to go back and get some more 2 days later. The next time, we tried the jerk chicken and jollof rice. You must try this place. Not only is the food good, but they also provide excellent customer service. I truly felt like family. Please go try their food. Thank you Jay's Soul Food. I can't wait to visit again.

Never knew in a million times I would find a good African restaurant in Kent. Just decided to take an adventurous travel down here and I enjoyed it🥺. The customer service was 11/10 and the food omggg it was great as well. I order the pounded yam and egusi soup and it was everything I expected, tried the efo riro as well and it didn’t disappoint. Had to get a takeout for more food. There is a bar as well if you wanna have fun all day. Definitely coming back for more. Thanks Aunty!

This unassuming restaurant is located in the center of Ashford. It offers home-cooked food and has an on-the-door Hygiene Rating 5. The food is Nigerian and Caribbean and it's a refreshing alternative to the other restaurants in the area. We had Jollof rice, goat curry, Jerk chicken and Lamb Pattie. From the first bite you know that it has been 'home cooked' with heart and passion for food. We also took some delicious spiced cake home, apparently baked to owner Jay's aunt's special recipe (something like a fusion between Carrot Cake and Jamaican Ginger Cake). We will be back to this place without hesitation. So happy that Jay has created it. Thank you and see you soon 😄

Takeout Restaurant
If you're in Ashford and craving authentic Indian cuisine, "Spice of India" is a must-visit gem that will delight your taste buds. Recently opened, this charming restaurant is run by friendly owners from Bangladesh who are eager to make your dining experience memorable. The ambiance is cozy with comfortable seating, perfect for enjoying a meal with family or friends. The menu boasts an array of mouth-watering dishes that are sure to impress.
During our recent trip to Kent Park Holidays, we were on the lookout for a good halal Indian restaurant nearby — and we found an absolute gem just a 20-minute scenic drive away. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the owner. The restaurant itself was small, quiet, and full of charm. The food? Absolutely amazing. One of the highlights for our whole family was the mint sauce — so good, in fact, that we asked if we could take a full bottle home! Every dish we ordered was bursting with flavor: • Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi – perfectly spiced and sauced, and they even adjusted the spice level on request. • Prawn Puri – spot on and just the way we wanted it. • Lamb Tikka Jalfrezi and Garlic Lamb Tikka Jalfrezi – both perfectly cooked and full of rich, balanced flavors. The prices were very reasonable, especially with their fantastic deal running Sunday to Thursday: starter, main, naan, and rice for just £12.95! It made a big difference for a family meal. The owner truly made the experience special — offering great recommendations, helping us get the most value, and clearly prioritizing service and quality over profit. It’s rare to see that kind of genuine hospitality. We’ll definitely be returning whenever we’re in Ashford or nearby again. Highly recommended!

Only down mark was atmosphere but only because was early evening on a Monday. We had a good range of really hot tasty food. Poppadoms with four traditional dips. A keema naan and peshwari naan. Both were HUGE and really good. 1/2 spiced chicken on sizzling onions. Chicken dhansak with huge soft juicy chunks of chicken. Lamb madras with tender succulent lamb. And a piping hot crunchy vegetarian samosa. Nothing could be faulted including the service and cleanliness. We are on an overnight trip so probably won't be back, but, you all should go. Service with a smile at a good value price for piles of food

Went there for the very 1st time after moving to Ashford recently. Thrilled to meet the owners of the restaurant who are from Bangladesh. The environment in excellent with good seating arrangements. The owner came and helped us with the order. Each and every cuisine had been mouth-watering, juicy with the tandoori chicken being tender and melts in mouth. The lamb biryani had an attractive aroma along with the set of kebabs that we had beside the buttery naans and Tarka daal. The restaurant also has take-away option beside dine in which is really handy. Overall, this restaurant is an outstanding one especially, in terms of food. I would be happy to dine here anytime with friends and family members. Timings are 5pm to 11pm , 7 days a week. All foods are HALAL here too. 😍

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the recent takeaway experience I had from your establishment. Unfortunately, several issues have significantly marred the overall quality of the food and service. Firstly, the chicken in the curry was notably dry and overcooked, resulting in an unpleasant texture and compromised flavor. This deviation from the expected standard of quality was disappointing. Furthermore, the delivery service was subpar, as the food took over 2 hours to arrive. Such prolonged delays not only inconvenience customers but also undermine the freshness and appeal of the dishes. Regrettably, my disappointment didn't end there. Upon consumption of the Korma, I discovered plastic in the dish, a concerning and unacceptable occurrence that raises serious questions about the restaurant's adherence to safety standards. Lastly, the curries were excessively oily, detracting from the overall enjoyment of the meal. The excessive oil content was not only unappetising but also suggested a lack of attention to detail in the preparation process. As a loyal customer, I believe it is imperative for these issues to be promptly addressed to maintain the high standards of quality and service that your establishment is known for. I kindly request a thorough investigation into the matter, along with appropriate measures to prevent a recurrence. I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and look forward to a swift resolution.

Wimpy is a long-standing chain known for its relaxed atmosphere and menu featuring burgers, mixed grills, and comfort food. Customers enjoy the variety of options available, from milkshakes to chicken strips and burgers with chips. The friendly service and reasonable prices make it a popular choice for those looking for a quality meal in a casual setting. Despite some minor critiques about the sausage and pricing, Wimpy is generally recommended for its enjoyable dining experience compared to other fast-food chains.
Popped to Wimpy on thier day of re-opening and received fantastic service, great food and one of my favourite Banana Milkshakes from a Fast Food/Diner style resturaunt. Fresh salad in the burgers was a nice change to the rest, chips look unassuming but were in fact brilliant. Adorned with a serving of Special Sauce this was a great experience that I can't pick any holes in. Edit: Continuing on our Wimpy journey, the quality and service continues to impress! 10/10

Love a wimpy been visiting regularly for years food was always consistent quality and quick to the table, But since it closed and reopened we have visited on 4 separate occasions each time the meat is overcooked (that’s 6 meals each time with overcooked beef burgers patties and the bender sausage) not the usual quality it used to be. After the first time I thought it could be teething problems but today (Sunday lunchtime) only one other table in there ( 2 people) so dead quiet, burgers and benders was all over cooked again and food didn’t come out altogether cooked 2 at a time . Otherwise staff friendly.

Glad to see wimpy open again, nice clean fresh restaurant, service was quick all food cooked to order enjoyable experience. Two criticisms, Every customer pushed the door the wrong way, really needs a sign (push/pull) It takes a long time to actually pay for the food.

I went there with my friends, and we had an amazing time! The food was absolutely awesome — every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. We could tell that a lot of effort and passion went into the cooking. Huge appreciation to the chef for making our evening so memorable with such delicious food. The service was equally impressive — friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. It’s not just a place to eat, but a place to enjoy good company and great vibes. Definitely coming back again!

**A hidden gem in Ashford!** Wimpy Ashford has quickly become one of my go-to spots for a relaxed and satisfying meal. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, and the service is consistently quick and efficient. I really appreciate how clean and well-kept the restaurant is—it has a cozy, classic diner vibe that’s hard to find these days. The food is exactly what you'd hope for: fresh, tasty, and cooked just right. Their burgers are always hot and juicy, and the chips are golden and crispy. I also love their breakfast options—hearty and filling without being too heavy. Plus, it’s one of the few places where you can still get proper table service in a fast-food setting. Highly recommend stopping in if you’re in the area. Great value, great food, and a lovely team running the place

We've been 3 times since it's been reopened, unfortunately they keep overcooking the patties and bendys, today it was empty and there were 6 of us, the food came out in 3 stages, I'm sure the cook was plating up 2 at a time and sending them out, while the rest was getting overcooked (a few mins wait between the first two and the last two plates coming out), otherwise its great, the service is very friendly.

Ordered food today for delivery through Uber Eats as part of a work lunch. What a treat we thought... Absolute disappointment and no way to share with the restaurant as they don't answer their phones. Stone cold food, packaging not practical, no straws for our thick shakes, which arrived warm and runny. Multiple portions of chips slung in the bottom of the bag with no distinction between them. A colleague ordered a burger with no sauce and it was full of ketchup, this was meant to have a bender sausage added, but this was also thrown at the bottom of the bag with the stone cold chips. We had paid for priority delivery, in the hope that we would have had hot food, but just as our food was about to be collected the driver was changed on the app, which I'm guessing means our freshly cooked food was laying about for a while before a new driver was assigned. In summary, a treat that we were all looking forward to, has turned into a very expensive mistake that we will not be making again! Sort this out Wimpy, this is not on!

Excellent with some wow! This is a review of the dinner we had at The Kings Head. The best meal out I’ve had in years. Great service in an attractive environment; really good food; good value. I had the tofu starter followed by hake and mussels as the main. The fish was very well cooked, about perfect I’d say, with great flavours and texture, as were the mussels. The crumble pudding was delicious and deserves a ‘wow’ rating, along with the treacle and Guinness bread we had before the starters. My wife really enjoyed her meal too. I don’t often get this excited about a meal - this was a great dinner. Many thanks to Patrick for his kind attention.

Our recent stay at the Kings Head was nothing short of magical. First and foremost, the food was incredible. Every dish served was a culinary masterpiece. Whether it was the perfectly cooked burger on a pretzel bun or the addictive halloumi fries, each bite was amazing. They also have their own wood-fired pizza in the back that fires up some of the best pizzas we’ve had! This is available for dine-in or take-away. The rooms at the Kings Head were a true retreat. They were not only beautifully decorated but also incredibly comfortable. It was a joy to relax in such a cozy atmosphere after a day of exploring the charming surrounding area. What sets the Kings Head apart is the convenience of having absolutely everything you need, all in one place. From the delicious meals to the comfortable rooms, it truly is a one-stop destination for a perfect getaway. A special thanks goes out to Nick and the entire staff for their excellent hospitality. Went for lunch on a quiet Tuesday, the bar was nice and airy with a good selection of beers on offer. The staff were great, very friendly and attentive but not too intrusive. I didn't think I'd get too excited about a chicken and bacon sandwich but it was really, really good - served with a lovely side salad and chips. We had a lovely 2 night stay in the King's Head Wye. Our room was on the second floor up fairly steep steps. I felt sorry for the elderly couple staying on the same floor as us!! The room was clean and tidy and well kitted out with a bath and shower available. Paint was starting to peel off the wooden window frames but I only noticed this because I spent ages looking out at the view of Wye crown. Our room was more than adequate. The staff were friendly and polite. Nothing was to much trouble. We ate in the restaurant which has changed considerably since I got down on one knee and proposed to my now wife 32 years ago. The food was great although £28 for a bottle of Merlot was steep. We slept well on a memory foam mattress & went down for breakfast which was full English. It wasn't large but it beat me & I had to leave some. Everything tasted wonderful. There was so much flavour. Best breakfast for a very long while. We headed out for a walk to the "Crown" and back which was around 5 miles & ended up having a drink in a pub by the river. We had a lovely weekend in an amazing location and I thoroughly recommend a visit

The striking black iron barn, emblazoned with the name "Westwell," opens up to reveal the inner workings of the winery, complete with gleaming steel tanks. This trendy spot has become increasingly popular among Londoners seeking a cool retreat.
We had such a lovely tasting at Westwell last week. Vibes at this small, natural wine place are absolutely on point. The shop was gorgeous. Staff were kind and knowledgeable. Wine was delicious. Snacks were also fab, we had the ham platter but was very jealous of another lady's crisp tasting flight. Would absolutely recommend for anyone looking to do something a bit different to some of the other bigger local vineyards

We had a lovely day out at Westwell for their wine tour and tasting. Marc was our very generous host and he was a wonderful blend of humour and knowledge! The tasting experience was educational and broadened our horizons of quality English wine made in Kent.

My friend and I travelled up from London on the train to visit Westwell. We really enjoyed the tour which allowed us to learn a bit about English wine and then of course taste a few different styles of their wine. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the set up was really nice. I came across them at a wine fair many years ago so was glad to finally make it out to the vineyard. It has a much smaller feel than some of the UK's bigger vineyards, which we really liked.

We Were Invited Along To Westwell This Weekend To Try Out Their Tour & Tasting! Wow! We Had An Amazing Time - Staff Were Extremely Knowledgeable, Super Friendly & Extremely Attentive! We Ordered Some Food Which Was Delicious! We Also Bought Home Some Fantastic Wine To Enjoy Again! Highly Recommend, Can't Wait To Share With Our Guests & We Look Forward To Returning Soon!

Westwell wines was a beautiful day out, they looked after us. I would highly recommend going on the tour and the wine tasting with Marcy. Shout out to Marc, you taught us so much about wine and growing wine.

What a fantastic day out we had, we were here all day. From the informed and fun tour by Lianne, to the hospitality of Ann-Marie and the hilarious professional that is Penny, Libby and Theo were so accommodating and helped with everything we needed, we felt we were supported throughout the whole day. The vineyards are so picturesque and the wine crisp, full of flavour and surprises, we ordered 12 bottles within the hour of tasting to make sure we got some of this limited edition wine. Cannot get this in the supermarkets, as far superior wine. We are regular wine 'investors' for ourselves and guests, and couldn't recommend enough. Met some new friends along the way. What a day out from the grind of everyday life, stepping into the tranquil and inviting. Thank you all.

My husband and I go to Westwell regularly whether to have a couple of drinks, for a pizza night, new year supper club or just to pick up a few bottles of their amazing wine. We know a lot of the staff members well and they are all absolutely lovely and also so knowledgeable about the wines. We actually went on our first tour and tasting yesterday (led by Penny) and absolutely loved it. It was so good to get a full understanding of Westwell, their grapes and how they make the wine. We had tried all of the wines on the tasting menu before but really liked getting more info about the smell and taste of each. We also got an extra discount off a box of wine as we were on the tour which was a nice touch. We also love the prints and almost have all 4 ready to pop up in our kitchen. The Westwell staff even gifted us a print when we got married. I think we can say we are very regular customers and we will continue to visit Westwell as often as we can, supporting great British wine. Highly recommend ⭐️

So friendly, the knowledgeable Marc talked us through the wine with such passion. A definite visit. Also dog 🐶 friendly. A fabulous Sunday afternoon. Yet again a fabulous trip to Westwell on a sun dirt yeast club blending event.

The Brook Rural Museum is a treasure trove of agricultural history, showcasing an extensive collection of rural artifacts that highlight the evolution of farming practices. Visitors can marvel at everything from vintage farm vehicles to beautifully preserved items like a linen farmer's smock. The museum, run by passionate volunteers, offers engaging events throughout the year, including fascinating exhibitions on birds of prey and themed festivals such as hop heritage days.
Great bird of prey exhibition held here that was informative and amazing to see the different birds. Had a pizza van at the event which served great pizza as well as a coffee stand and ice cream stand. Nice selection for the event
Wolfie K — Google review
This is a very pleasant historical agricultural venue run by knowledgeable volunteers. Plenty of old farm vehicles and implements show a time past which invokes wonder and admiration for those producing our food long before diesel engines.

Visited on a hop festival heritage day. The tour of the oast house was interesting and gave a great insight into the workings of local hop productions in Brook.
Sarah A — Google review
A huge collection of rural artefacts concentrating on agricultural implements. It's an Aladdin's cave of yesteryear from hopping and grain-growing to waggons and a beautifully preserved linen farmer's smock. Heritage Lottery funding is giving this museum a new lease of life with interesting events happening in 2023.

Lovely medieval fayre. Just a shame it only had a pizza van, not medieval a hog roast would have been more appropriate.

What a very interesting place to visit. My son and I had a very warm welcome from the volunteers. We particularly loved the Oast House, its lovely to see it still in it's original state. If you're in the area definitely pop in there.

A small but immaculately kept memorial for a young and incredibly brave USAF Pilot. Lt W. H. Johnson was killed shortly after his stricken B17 returned from a mission over France. He remained in his seat long enough to allow his crew to bail out and then deliberately steered the plane away from the nearby village of Hamstreet, sacrificing his own life to protect villagers he’d never met. This memorial was erected in his honour by local residents. A humbling example of bravery and sacrifice and well worth a visit if you’re passing.

Steak house
Beefeater The Woolpack is a pub-style chain known for its grilled meats and international favorites like fajitas. While some furniture may need updating, the restaurant offers wheelchair accessibility and ample parking. Visitors have praised the friendly service, timely food delivery, and straightforward payment process. Guests have also commended the impressive food quality and excellent service from staff members like Sheila and Faye, making it a recommended dining destination for both locals and visitors alike.
Amazing service. Went there for dinner and our server Phoebe could not have been more helpful and nice. All our food was served in a timely manner and my steak was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was very chilled despite a fair number of people being there. I will definitely be returning.
Julian M — Google review
We had a lovely 2 course meal with a glass of wine including breakfast as part of a Premier inn deal when we stayed on Saturday night. Mixed grill and breakfast were very very good. Everything cooked perfectly on a hot plate & nicely presented. We also had a couple of cheeky Stellas in the afternoon looking out the window near the bar as storm Bert hit. Really pleasant experience.
Brian C — Google review
Great breakfast. And a great service from Sheila. Very friendly, and welcoming. Order what you want and as much as you like, and its served, with "Round 2, and 3" encouraged. I had the full English (pick your own itens and quantities) then a pastry with coffee. I'd still rather have a buffet where you pick what you like, as opposed to ordering..... probably just me, but you feel you're being greedy ordering too much. Overall, for £10.99, definitely recommended. Nice place too, plenty parking outside.....

The place was buzzing and very busy, my table was booked. The food came out quickly and was very delicious. My server Karen was smiling and very happy to help. She was carrying the place and keeping everyone happy. Definitely worth a visit.

A warm welcome after a long drive. Arrived late Sunday after a long drive from Nottingham. Walked in at 10pm but service had finished. The manager very kindly showed me to the bar and had asked them to pour a Guinness. Thank you for taking care of me!
Kevin L — Google review
We've stayed at the Premier Inn Ashford North on several occasions, and we usually get the "meal deal" for dinner and breakfast at the attached Beefeater. There is a definite difference between the warmth of welcome at this Beefeater - which is rather cold - compared with the Beefeater down the road at the Eureka park - which is friendly and efficient. Arriving for dinner recently we had to wait at the "wait to be seated" reception for quite a while. We were eventually placed at a table very close to large noisy family party - we've been there done that, so we had to ask to be moved. Given how busy the place was the service was fortunately quite prompt, albeit somewhat brusque. At breakfast the following morning there were no pleasantries, instead we were interrogated on our room number and whether we had any allergies. And this was after yet another extensive wait in front of the "wait to be seated" sign, while several staff passed by and completely ignored us, until there was quite a queue building up behind us. A simple "someone will be with you in a moment" would have helped. Although the service left something to be desired, the food at the Beefeater Ashford North was pretty good. For dinner we both had rump steak, mine cooked medium and the boss well-cooked, and we were both very happy. Desserts followed promptly, and my blackberry and apple crumble was very good. The drinks were also very acceptable - I had beer and the boss had lime and soda. The following morning the full English was also very good. In summary you will eat quite well at the Beefeater Ashford North but you may not feel entirely welcome.
Richard B — Google review
Arrived during a week day night, manager was upfront with information as some of the meals where not available at the time of arrival rather then wait for us to seat down then let us know. The wait was reasonably friendly and responded to our requests. Food arrived in a timely manner, lots of flavours coming through and it was of good standard. Paying was straight forward , not having to look through then the receipt and wait 10 minutes for the waitress to come back. Some of the furniture does need to be updated, or at least refurbed.

Pub
Restaurant
Nestled between Maidstone Town Centre and Kings Hill, The Tickled Trout is a charming British pub that perfectly captures the essence of rustic elegance. With its inviting outdoor dining area set in beautifully maintained riverside gardens, this spot offers a delightful escape for both leisure travelers and business visitors alike. The menu features an array of locally sourced dishes that are expertly crafted to tantalize your taste buds, complemented by exquisite wine pairings from Balfour Winery.
Lovely pub in Wye,Kent with a garden that backs on to the river Stour. So good on a sunny and warm afternoon to sit next to the river and enjoy a couple of drinks and one of their delicious pizzas! The barman,Oliver was a chipper chap and was happy to answer any questions I had and made me feel welcome. I did look around the inside of the pub, very nicely laid out with a number of smaller areas to make dining more intimate rather than a large open area. There's a good selection of food from sandwiches through to full meals. A few different dishes make the menu interesting, not just the same old fare that you'll often find. There is a kids menu too! The pub is suitable for couples and families alike. The prices are moderate for both food and drinks, my pizza was £15 but was very good indeed and there is a choice of dips for your pizza crust included in the price. There is a car park, it's a bit cramped but you can park nearby. Wye railway station on the line between Ashford & Canterbury West is no more than a five minute walk away and trains are regular. The highlight area is most definitely the garden, just lovely, they do have live music in the garden too, check out their website for dates.

It’s a two minute walk from the train. Tje garden is beautiful and well Laid out. We had a lovely afternoon here. We were there for around 6 hours. When we walked in we were greeted by a friendly member of staff and shown to our table on the garden. It was quite busy but there was penalty of room. We ordered our meals which arrived is fairly good time. Two were wrong, one had to be remade and the other had something missing which was delivered separately. Chicken Caesar salad, size wise it was small compared to a lot of other places. Seafood paella, again on the small side it had a nice kick to it,3 large prawns, slightly overcooked, it was enjoyable Sandwiches were freshly made and full of filling. Ploughman’s now you can’t complain about the size of it, as ploughman’s go this was big. Plenty of cheese, 3 big chunks and plenty of bread The afternoon was so relaxing. The staff kept the tables free from used plates and glasses and were really nice. Watch out for the wasps, there were loads of them.
J L — Google review
Went for lunch and ordered the best Pork Belly in town and beyond! The cod and chip was very fresh but lacked a bit of acidity from lemon or vinegar. The starter wasn't worth it though. The place has a very nice quaint and homely atmosphere. Toilets were clean and there's a large garden by the River Stour. Ample parking but can get busy really quickly. We arrived 10 past 12 for lunch service and the parking lot was was full within minutes. Overall, was a pleasant experience and the service was great!
Maribel D — Google review
Amazing how much an over-priced pint and slow, wait that's giving them slightly too much credit, change that to 'Glacially slow' service, can really leave a sour taste in your mouth about a place. But if that doesn't bother you they have a fabulous beer garden with river view, it's right next to Wye station and the food is - ah wait, I didn't have the food - simple answer why, I didn't have time to do the paperwork for a small mortgage, the train was due.

We had a lovely Bank Holiday Monday lunch at The Tickled Trout in Ashford. The setting is beautiful, with kids and dogs enjoying a splash in the river, and plenty of shade to relax under from the sun. It’s a really welcoming spot with a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for families. A great place to enjoy good food in a picturesque location – we’ll definitely be back.
Rhiannon B — Google review
Lovely terrace next to the little river. Nice food options, also vegetarian and vegan options. We both had the halloumi burger, which came with sweet potato fries and coleslaw. It tasted great and was more than enough. They also have a lot of beers and other drinks. The only thing I find a bit weird is that a 10% service fee is added to the bill, while you have to order inside and grab your own cutlery. Basically the only service is the plates being brought to your table. But apart from that, it’s a very nice place!

Review: The Tickled Trout Bar Nestled beside tranquil waters and kissed by the breeze, The Tickled Trout offers a dining experience that feels like a secret slice of heaven—especially if you’re lucky enough to snag a seat outdoors. The al fresco area is a dream: relaxed, scenic, and perfect for basking in the soft hum of nature while sipping something crisp. 🌟 Food Highlights The kitchen truly knows how to tease the taste buds. Every dish we tried was prepared with clear attention to flavor and presentation. The pasta—while a touch modest in portion for the price—was cooked beautifully and layered with rich, satisfying depth. What the main lacked in quantity, the dessert more than made up for in joy. The homemade ice cream was the star of the show: creamy, inventive, and dangerously delicious. It elevated the entire dessert experience and left us contemplating seconds (and thirds). 💬 Atmosphere & Service The staff were warm and attentive, blending professionalism with a laid-back charm that suited the setting perfectly. You can tell there’s pride behind every plate and pour. If you’re searching for a spot that blends great food, scenic ambiance, and a little indulgent escapism, the Tickled Trout absolutely delivers. Just be prepared to linger—this place makes it hard to leave.
Gavin D — Google review
We were a group of nine who had been ‘shoehorned’ into the lower restaurant. I was last to be seated and sat opposite my wife. I was ‘told’ to move to the other end of the table, as an additional chair was to be placed on a table behind me. The person doing ‘the telling’ seemed to be either the landlady or the restaurant manager. I politely told her on two occasions, that I preferred to sit where I was, but out of my hearing, she stomped off with the words “how rude”, heard by my wife and friends. The situation was easily resolved by my friends and I, who just moved up one place. Simple! Ironically, all this took place beneath the management’s framed mission statement, which promises “to make every customer feel welcome”. The remainder of the younger staff were excellent, friendly, cheerful and accommodating. The meals were delicious and our group’s second visit to this pub was enjoyable, in spite of a poor start.
