Shopping mall
St James Quarter, a modern shopping destination that opened in 2021, is a must-visit when in Edinburgh. This vibrant district boasts 80 different retailers, 30 restaurants, and the impressive Bonnie & Wild food hall. The Galleria, with its bright canopy roof, houses cutting-edge brands including some making their Scottish debut like Stradivarius and Pull&Bear. Situated at the east end of Princes Street, this four-story center spans 1.
A vast array of shops and restaurants. Well laid out, clean and tidy with plenty of bins and recycling points too. Underground parking is handy for those who can't travel by foot or public transport. Something here for everyone. Highly recommend.
Mark S — Google review
One of the top few malls in Edinburgh that one should visit! Generous common corridor space, located very near to Calton hill. Most of the shops’ fit-out carries a certain flavor and character. It carries both mid to high end shops, felt it would be great if there can be some Chinese and Korean dining restaurants!
Eileen ( — Google review
It’s just a mall but it is in beautiful shape with all of the stores you expect plus many high end brands nearby. This is a five for some free views of the area. Also clean and large free public restrooms
Kevin C — Google review
St James Quarter The mall feels bright and spacious with its modern design. There are plenty of branded shops, from high-street fashion to luxury labels, along with toy stores and restaurants. It’s a good spot for shopping or just walking around to enjoy the atmosphere.
Muh F — Google review
Sort of a covered outlet mall, with a nice variety of stores to choose from. A few interesting choices for food as well.
Robert D — Google review
We had a walk through here whilst in Edinburgh for a weekend. It's a great shopping centre and was surprisingly quiet (which was nice) for a Saturday afternoon in September. Really good mix of shops, we went in Lego, Pandora, Molten Brown and Samsung Experience. Also used the loos which were very clean and efficient with the soap / water / dryer all in one place over the sink. The whole centre had a lovely clean feel and great views over to Leith. We entered from the Waterloo Place end and then exited at the Multrees Walk end, where there are further shops of the designer variety. Really nice area in a city that feels quite grey and in need of a facelift in many areas.
Sara W — Google review
Reminds me of Westfield London. With brands like Stradivarius, Bershka, Breaverbrooks etc. makes it perfect place for shopping in Edinburgh. Parking price is bit on the higher side. But it's city center after all.
Pritam D — Google review
A modern and vibrant shopping and entertainment center in the heart of Edinburgh — featuring over 80 brands, restaurants, bars, a cinema, and a hotel. Its prime location near Edinburgh Waverley station makes it very convenient for locals and tourists alike. The interior design is impressive: well-lit, spacious, and inviting. An ideal place to spend a day or evening.

Kirkgate Park is a beautiful and spacious park located along the shores of Loch Leven. It offers stunning views, a large play area for children, and is dog-friendly. The park features various play equipment suitable for all age ranges, including a climbing frame, flying fox, and swing pendulum. Additionally, visitors can enjoy activities such as walking and cycling on the well-maintained paths that offer clear views of Loch Leven Castle.
Peaceful, tranquil and an all round lovely place. The children's play area was good with a good variety of equipment. The whole place was litter free even the toilets were good. Lots of dog walker who all seemed very responsible.

Lovely place never got round all of it but we found a wee spot next to the loch to paddle in. Car parking was easy to navigate.

Open places, with kids park, no facility for toilets the only available toilet have been probably never cleaned after construction. The toilet seat had moss and and dirt stuck . Good day out for kids only if you don't need toilet

Didn't know about this place until the man at the boathouse told me as I was looking for a place to take some wedding photos. Lovely view, plenty of space.
Karen S — Google review
Great park right next to the Loch, good amount of free parking, nice grassy open areas with picnic benches. There are public toilets that take 20p cash. Good amount of things to do at the park for all ages.
Martina M — Google review
This is a wonderful park. It connects to the trail the runs all the way the Loch. There is a large play area for children and is dog friendly. There is a good walking and cycling path. You have a rather clear view of Loch Leven Castle. There are facilities here and parking. There is an interesting older cemetery at the top end of the park which is not dog friendly.

Brilliant place to enjoy with family or by yourself. Loads of grass area nice wee walk....if you want. Go jump in the water or play water sports. A little sand area, too. What a fantastic day we had.

Become a regular stop as we head north...great garden to unwind from the journey round Edinburgh followed by a visit to a great café. Even now some interest in the garden. Fabulous reds of Acers. Huge range interesting rhododendrons much more noticeable than in the summer. Best cup of tea we've had for ages. China cups, proper teapot with boiling water poured onto the tea. Fab tea cosy to keep it hot. Amazing cakes. The raisin brack today was brilliant. Really friendly people.

Beautiful garden on hillside just outside of Perth. National Trust with cafe and shop selling gifts, cards, gardening equipment, plants. Excellent scones, soup, cakes in cafe. Beautiful colour at all times of year but especially good for rhododendrons, alpine plants, meconopsis. Peaceful spot close to city.
Chris M — Google review
It's such a gem. We only popped in to use the loo and get a cuppa on our way north, but ended up staying for nearly an hour, looking at all the beautiful flowers. We even recommended it to parents who are also holidaying in Scotland, and they thought it was great too. Make sure you checkout where the carpark is before you go, as the access is quite limited!

Small but perfect. Branklyn Garden is so beautiful, with friendly staff at the gate and lovely volunteers in the cafe. There is an extensive collection of plants and flowers, water, and garden features. Something for everyone, and it smells wonderful too. We love it here, highly recommend.

Perth Theatre is a venue that boasts an Edwardian auditorium and studio space for classic and contemporary drama and musicals. One of its highlights is the annual panto night, which offers a fantastic performance and helpful staff. The Kings in Glasgow used to be the go-to place to watch Elaine C Smith, but now Perth Theatre has become a preferred option for families.
The fact that a town of the size can have such an elaborate and artful theater is part of the magic of Scotland. There's such a heightened importance placed on the arts here, such a clear conception of them as being essential to the common life of the community. Because of a robust performing arts theatre like this, placed among a bustling and welcoming street that creates a sense of pride and honour, this small city has a more robust artistic culture than the much larger city in which I grew up. Even if you are not there for one of the many electrifying performances, look around the common area and see the stacks of plays on the book shelves. This theatre is itself a destination, and spending a lot of time in it produces a sense of reverence, such as can only be evoked by a place touched by the hands and hearts of a people.

The lady at the front door about an hour or so before the show decided to tell us the show was cancelled, 😕. This was a joke 🤣 cracking sense of humour, even if I was biscuit ersed for a few seconds before she gave the game away. I thought she would end up being the warm up act but alas she'd been sacked by then. Great place, will definitely be back.

Small seats for modern men. I hardly fit in at 6'2". Nice clean theatre, decent view from mid circle, will come again
Rhys B — Google review
The theatre is very nice on the inside, and very clean and well kept. The staff are friendly - the only downside is the price of the drinks and snacks, but that's expected at a theatre. The show I saw was brilliant, too.

Perth Concert Hall is a modern arena made of glass and copper, offering live music, comedy, and dance performances along with an onsite cafe-bar. It stands in contrast to the historic Edwardian theatre nearby, boasting state-of-the-art acoustics and adventurous programming. The venue hosts critically acclaimed performances by world-class artists and offers inspirational community activities. Additionally, it serves as a resource base for cultural life in Perthshire with events running throughout the year.
Very large venue with comfortable seats and a good size stage. Every seat had a good view of the stage and the sound was absolutely incredible no matter where you sat.

Skippinish concert was amazing. Lift is a long walk from the entrance and a further walk when you get upstairs to the auditorium. Seating is comfortable but too close to the seats in front. Staff were helpful and friendly and the visibility was great. Lovely venue but not particularly good for anyone with mobility issues.

Great place. Visited here to see Steve backshall do his show with my partner. Nice selection of shops on entry to grab an alcoholic drink, a coffee and some snacks. The merch stand was an odd choice to be placed though (right at the entrance) so there was a queue of people right in the way when trying to leave. Would happily come here for another show if the time ever comes.

Great venues that bring so much to Perth in the way of entertainment, I’ve seen some fantastic performances Don Mclean, John Martyn, Goldfrapp, Mogwai, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Richard Thompson, Dougie Maclean, Ross Ainslie to name a few…

Fantastic venue, one of the best I have been in. The acoustics were absolutely brilliant. Very clean and tidy. The cherry on the cake - the staff!! Very friendly and welcoming, they were all very polite, respectful and happy to engage in conversation. You are all a credit to the concert hall. Thank you for a lovely visit.

Went to see Ultimate Eagles. Seen them before and was not disappointed. In the introduction the lead singer stated they were not trying to be the eagles. They were just appreciating as close as possible to the authentic sound of The Eagles. And boy did they live up to that. Harmonies were spot on and the guitars and musicians were great. Thoroughly enjoyable two hours. Highly recommended.

Modern British restaurant
Restaurant
The North Port Scottish Restaurant is a charming stone-built eatery offering a warm and inviting dining space. The menu features a variety of seasonal Scottish dishes, prepared with quality ingredients. Located in the heart of the community, this restaurant is run by Flora Shedden, known for her artisan bakery housed in a 200-year-old building. Visitors can expect a classy yet cozy atmosphere with comfortable seating and friendly service.
We were fortunate enough to get a table at this excellent restaurant without booking because someone else had cancelled 10 minutes before we arrived (parking right outside). The food was fantastically good, with every single ingredient coming from Scotland. The 3 of us each had something different on the menu, and all dishes were excellent. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. The chef even changed the sauce on one dish because my wife doesn’t eat cheese. The dishes were the perfect size for lunch without being too heavy. Highly recommended.

Lovely food at extremely reasonable prices (for the quality of food on offer). I had pigeon, beef cheek and a pear frangipane. Paired with an excellent jalapeño cocktail and perfectly suited bottle of red wine. All in, around £60 per person (3 courses, drinks and coffee). Food was prepared and presented to the highest standard, ingredients being locally sources. Wait staff were professional and efficient. Ambience was lovely for a Valentine’s Day dinner.

Went here for the haggis. Loved it - best one I've had so far. The host was also kind to offer warm bread and homemade butter. I also had soup of the day which was Mushroom soup - it has a very truffle-y flavour which is *chef's kiss*. For the main, I had the Cod special - it had shellfish sauce which very much tasted like crab. Highly recommend to try this.

We had a delicious lunch here. Every dish was well-prepared, and the service was attentive. It was a very enjoyable experience dining at this restaurant.
Alex L — Google review
We visited this restaurant after a ceremony in Perth Town Hall. The restaurant is beautifully laid out and the atmosphere is relaxing. The food was excellent and at £27 for 3 courses it is a steal. All the courses were beautifully presented and the sizes were healthy especially for a lunchtime. The front of house lady was great and our service was absolutely seamless. We had a table booked for 12.30 and I would say by 13.00 the restaurant was full, so I recommend that you book in advance not to be disappointed. Highly recommend this restaurant it ticks all the boxes.
Colin F — Google review
I had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. Their small pre-dinner bread with special carrot sauce and sweet carrots in my main dish was amazing. I ordered two courses from the set menu, and both were delicious. The chicken in the main dish was a bit salty, but the sauce was really nice. The restaurant offered warm service, delicious food, and a cozy atmosphere. The only drawback was the lack of signal in the restaurant, but overall, I'm very dedicated to enjoying delicious food.

A great choice for Scottish food, sourced well and presented even better. They have a great value pre theatre and set menu. The interior is very quaint and adds to the atmosphere. The private dining room is also a good option if there is a group of you. Staff are very knowledgeable and attentive.

Nestled in the heart of Perth, The Bothy is a charming bistro that beautifully blends modern and traditional Scottish cuisine. With an inviting dining room illuminated by soft lighting, it offers a delightful set menu featuring seasonal favorites. During special occasions like Christmas, guests can indulge in a festive feast with options ranging from butternut squash soup to roast Highland venison. The atmosphere at The Bothy is warm and welcoming, making it perfect for family gatherings or romantic dinners alike.
Enjoyed a great family Sunday lunch at The Bothy recently. There was live music when we arrived which added to the relaxed atmosphere. Really enjoyed the Scallop & Asparagus risotto and the Chorizo and potato broth with Cod and asparagus was great, followed by a very indulgent chocolate tart with tangy orange sorbet. Very reasonable prices and the serving staff were all great, recommending the dishes and the wines.
Jo G — Google review
Grou[ of 6 of us stopped in on a very slow Sunday night. Our junior server was clearly new. Very friendly, but not very knowledgeable. Not her fault, and she did the best she could. Our main server also was the bartender. He definitely should have known better. Extremely slow, not knowledgeable about the food or the drinks, and messed up our order a couple of times. While the food was OK, the overall expereicne was not. Cannot recommend this place, at least when the primary staff is clearly not on duty. It’s a shame too, as this has the potential to be a great restaurant.
Chester B — Google review
My daughter and I went to the Bothy for lunch on Saturday. They had a deal on so we decided on 2 courses for £20. We both chose the soup which was spicy vegetable and the macaroni cheese with smoked haddock and leek. The soup was served with bread and butter and was very good. The main, not so good. It was served in a very large shallow bowl which hadn't been heated, so cooled down very quickly, almost cold by the time I had finished it. It was OK, the sauce was thin and quite tasteless to be honest. My daughter couldn't finish it, saying that it was sickly. It was served with French fries which looked and tasted like macdonalds fries! We asked for the bill and was very surprised to see a 10% service charge. I mentioned this and was told that they could remove it which I agreed to. We eat out quite a lot and this is the first time that I have come across this. I don't agree with it, it should be the customers decision how much to tip or whether or not to tip. The service was good, although a little slow, nice staff. The Bothy was my favourite restaurant before the outbreak of covid, but unfortunately, this experience has put me off and I won't return.

My partner and I were celebrating our anniversary and made a pit stop in Perth for lunch. The staff were lovely and welcoming. The food was great. The dinner menu features delectable starters like tempura prawns, truffled celeriac, and cheese souffle, as well as main courses such as Orkney steak and butternut squash, spinach, and feta pastilla.
I'm not sure why this location is not fully booked on a saturday. The cuisine and The Culinary aspect definitely make it worth stopping for a meal. Instead of having a meal I chose to have the soup, the scallops, dessert and some dessert wine. Everything was exceptional. You can see the photos here

Lived in Perth for 5 years and never been… until this evening. Love it! Such a spontaneous special night out. New parents and we had a chance to step away. The staff made it such a great night, suggested the best wine and guided us through a taste sensation. Strongly suggest the red wine! Which ever the staff suggest 🥰
Amber C — Google review
We had a lovely meal at Deans to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was our first visit and we both really enjoyed the food, along with the wonderful service and atmosphere. The only slight negative was that we felt the bottle of water was a little overpriced at £6. That said, we don’t mind paying a bit extra for good quality food as a treat, and the Thursday tasting menu did sound like it would offer great value. Overall, a really enjoyable experience, staff had good attention to detail and we’d happily return.

Chilli Pepper is a popular spot for delicious and generous portions of food. The calzone donner with extra chilli sauce is highly recommended, featuring thin and crispy bread, flavorful donner meat, hot cheese, onions, and a nice kick from the chilli sauce. Despite occasional delivery mishaps, the top-notch customer service ensures that any issues are promptly resolved.
I had it few times and definitely could recommend this takeaway. I usually ordered the same thing, a hoggie wrap, and it is always great, a good proportion of meat to chips and salad. Also very good spicy sauce. Staff is always very friendly and service is very quick. I always ordered for a pick up and it is great, never ordered for delivery.

Haven't used Chilli Pepper for a while but popped in tonight for a collection. Hubby ordered a set meal. Unfortunately when we got home, and after I'd had a glass of wine, discovered that my chilli korma was not in fact a chilli korma but had a bright red sauce and included tomatoes. Called the shop and explained. They were very apologetic and offered to deliver a replacement which they did extremely quickly. Again the girl who arrived was very apologetic and explained that what I'd been given was a Bhuna and was a mix up with handwriting. Fantastic service. What could have been a negative experience, they made in to a very positive one. Well done. Oh and the chilli korma was delicious. Five stars!!!

Tried for the first time tonight, my son liked his pizza but our curry was really bland. The naan was really thick and dry and the chicken pakoras were really dry and not good at all. We were also over charged by over £14, which was refunded after we enquired about the price. Not a great first impression unfortunately. Gave 2 stars as my son enjoyed his.

I would avoid ordering from here! Ordered a £30 order last night. When we heard the door chap the driver was gone by the time my son got to the door! No food was left on the doorstep like the manager claims it was! When I phoned up she said she was the one who delivered it and left it on the step and when I told her when my son got to the door there was definitely no food left there she quickly changed her mind and said it wasn’t her! Doesn’t have a very nice attitude either! Very strange! No offer of a refund or a replacement! Will never be ordering from here again.

Got the calzone donner with an extra chilli sauce. It was outstanding! Bread was thin and crispy and none of this thick, doughy mess you can get. Donner meat was delicious, cheese was hot, and went down a treat with the onions and extra chilli sauce, and the sauce had a nice kick to it. If you are going here, get the calzone donner with an extra chilli sauce.

Initial delivery was one hour late and arrived soggy in the box (pizza), HOWEVER the customer service from Nida was top notch, the issue rectified and she personally delivered a new order, which met my expectations. We need more people like her! This was my first time ordering from here, and thanks to the amazing customer service, it won't be the last.

Scone Palace is a grand Gothic stately home located at the historic site where Scottish kings were crowned. The palace boasts beautiful gardens and a maze for visitors to explore. This iconic Perthshire landmark holds great significance in Scottish history, having been a gathering place of the Picts and built on the grounds of an early Christian church. It was also once home to the legendary Stone of Scone.
Beautiful grounds to explore. Play park for kids, a maze which is very tricky and nearly drove me insane, also a lovely flower garden. Spent an enjoyable afternoon here, a trail for kids. It was lovely to see the peacocks and the stunning white peacock.
Suze W — Google review
I loved my visit to scone castle. The grounds were well kept and lovely, the maze was grand until I got worried I wouldn’t get out and almost broke through a hedgerow. The peacocks were out and about being lively, but I didn’t approach them (as per the warning at the gate). I’m giving this four stars because 1) at a place called Scone Palace, you ought to have a grande scone… mine was okay, though the preserves were delicious. 2) just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. The ivory… not in the greatest taste, but understandable. The elephant foot stool? Shut the front door. The mounted elephant skulls and poorly taxidermied bears also felt like someone should check out how much room to store things in the basement or perhaps donate them to somewhere educational. That’s my rant, but I do recommend going. Just don’t panic in the maze!

One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to in my life. I spent some of the most unforgettable days at this palace I truly enjoyed every moment. The nature around it is absolutely breathtaking and feels unreal. The shops there were beyond amazing, and I bought some really lovely gifts. I completely fell in love with this palace it’s stunning, and every corner is full of wonder. The staff were wonderful and everything was clearly explained.

A stunning Palace steeped in history. The guides share an abundance of knowledge with the history of the Palace and Scotland. The only disappointment was not being able to take any photos inside the Palace. They say it's for security of the family who still live there but they are happy to have thousands of visitors explore their home, at a cost.
Martin J — Google review
INFORMATIVE! Great guides, cheery faces, noisy peacocks 😂. A beautiful building and grounds with such historic significance, everything ran smoothly, the guides answered every question with more details than you'd get from just asking Google. If you are using a mobility scooter, make sure you have good power/traction as the gravel square at the entrance is definitely a scooter killer. The cafe was good however the kids on the To-go cups didn't fit even remotely and in order for the lady behind the counter to secure it she had to run her hand/fingers over the entire lid... Not the best considering that's going to be attached my lips soon...

an absolutely amazing palace that was on my must see places on our visit to Scotland ...unfortunately can't take pics inside the palace but its splendour is to be marvelled...definitely do yourself a favour and put on your list of things to visit ...Scone is a place that breathes history like nowhere else in Scotland. Today, in the 21st century, it is the home of the Earls of Mansfield, and a major attraction to visitors from all over the world, most famous as The Crowning Place of Scottish Kings.
Warren B — Google review
Beautiful grounds and Palace. Didn’t go inside as we have a dog but walked around the grounds. A few peacocks roam around too, and is always exciting when their tails flare out. But the scones were the highlight. If they don’t have at the cart, visit the canteen downstairs, they have a few options. With homemade jam, it was one of the best scones, if not best, I’ve had in my life.

It's the first time I've visited. I was born and brought up in Perth,so I'm ashamed I took so long. Beautiful Palace and gardens. The staff are very helpful and each room had codes and pages to explain everything. The gardens are excellent too, especially the tall trees and the peacocks. Don't get lost in the maze though.

My husband had the homemade soup and a cheese & pickle sandwich. Both was very tastie & well presented. We will definitely call again when visiting the area.

Stopped here for lunch in park. Clean lawn area, freshly mown lines. Plenty of benches and bins. Slightly concerned about notices on bridges re water. Public notice re not to go in water, dogs not to go in water. Otherwise a good place to stop and gift shop and cafe at the venue. Gift shop not overpriced but you pay in shop for coffee shop purchases.

The Black Watch Castle & Museum in Perth is a historic 16th-century castle that was once the residence of the Earls of Kinnoull. It now houses a museum dedicated to the renowned Black Watch regiment, showcasing its pivotal role in various historical events from the French Wars to modern conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. Visitors can explore collections of historic uniforms and weapons within the fortress while also enjoying the beautiful gardens surrounding it.
I "had" to visit the Castle and Museum as a member of staff at Culloden had spotted earlier this year that I was wearing the colours of The Black Watch at that time. I didn't know so I was going to buy a new scarf. Also a friend asked me to do some research, there. Both members of staff on reception deserve a favourable mention. One asked if I wanted to leave my small bag of drinks in the "back office" while I went around the place. She, or maybe both, took the photos of me there. The other one took it on board to book a taxi from their list of local contacts, for my trip into town. It turned out to be the same firm and one of the drivers I had seen the previous day. I was picked up from the entrance to the Castle and Museum. It is customer service like that which helps improve the day even if help is not needed. I said that I wanted to do some research relating to the First World War, was then given a map and the appropriate room was indicated on that map. There is a lift, which could be most helpful on my back down. When the time came, I opted to walk down a spiral staircase rather than look for the lift. The staircase was much wider than the one I had seen the day before AND carpeted. Even the walk that I had chosen to get me to the Museum improved my sense of well being as it briefly took me alongside the river. I'll leave it to you to decide which of the two photos of me sitting down you prefer. If this suits your taste, it is a lovely place to visit. It worked well for me.

Very interesting museum. Great collection of weapons, uniforms and art around the legendary Black Watch regiment. Highly recommend it for military history fans.

I loved the castle and museum that tells the story of the Blacks watch of Scotland The Black Watch is a famous Scottish infantry unit with a history dating back to 1725, first formed as independent companies to police the Highlands after the Jacobite rebellion. It became the Black Watch, 3rd Battalion, Royal Regiment of Scotland, after the 2006 amalgamation of Scottish regiments into the Royal Regiment of Scotland. Known for its distinctive dark-colored tartan, the regiment has served in numerous conflicts, including the American Revolutionary War, World War I, and World War II.... if your into military or Scottish history this is for you

I attended the Tabletop Scotland Convention at Dewars Centre, a wonderful venue that was conveniently located just a short walk from the train station. The facilities were spacious and provided ample room for gaming, interacting with traders, and socializing. Additionally, having a bar on-site was advantageous as it offered reasonably priced drinks. Although the drink selection may have been somewhat limited, it still provided an enjoyable opportunity to relax with a pint while attending the convention.
We were here for the model fair. Excellent venue. A great day out. But be aware if you go and are a model fan then expect to pay. There is so much choice and the vendors are really great. The cafe upstairs is simple but the food was good. Looking forward to next year already.

Was here for the Tabletop Scotland Convention. It was a great show and the venue was pretty good, being only a 5-10min walk from the train station and is easy to get to. The facilities were pretty good with loads of space to play games, talk to traders and hang out. An added benefit is that the building has a bar which sells drinks at pretty reasonable prices. The selection is slightly limited but still nice to be able to grab a pint while attending a convention

Gym floor lay out is well planned, you generally have space to do your activities without a lot of foot traffic getting in the way. The kit feels up to date with modern bells and whistles. A lot of people will disagree with this but I like the lack of mirrors and having them far away on the walls. In my opinion it leads to less ego focus and more work focus. The clean up stations are a good touch and the people use them. The people who attend this gym generally do their activities and have standards and manners leading to a harmonious environment. I find this important since in previous gyms, it only takes a few insecure egos to disrupt the harmony. Staff are involved, you feel their presence on the gym floor and are accommodating for your needs. The gym has a wide demographic, young, elderly, foreign etc, so I think it's good they have a presence. Only negative I've noticed thus far is the changing room/showers could do with modernising. You finish from a cool gym floor into warm humid changing room and often feel the shower doesn't cut it and you need to go again in your own time. Hope this was informative

This is a great wee spot. I stopped during a cycle heading to Dundee for a fry up. There’s outdoor seating for a nice day or you can also leave bike in front of window and see it from indoors. The fry up was brilliant and just the right amount of food. It was also served pretty quickly. Wasn’t sure what to expect with it being in a religious centre. There’s obviously religious stuff around/decorations etc but no one is trying to ram religion down your throat or anything like that. Would definitely stop in here again.

Really nice place. Exceptionally clean. Staff are extremely friendly. When we went in 1015idh we asked if there were any scones and staff member said if we waited 10 mins then freshly cooked scones would be ready so we went outside for 10 minutes in the sun and staff member came and told us the scones were ready. When we left my friend left her bag and member of staff came rushing out to give it her. The food, service and cleanliness are always amazing. Highly recommend this cafe. Plenty of parking, disabled spaces, defibrillator.

This place is probably ok if you are a Christian and looking for community. However, I think the food quality was poor in comparison to the price. Don’t eat out that often and was left disappointed at my choice. Would recommend the cafe looks at providing better quality breakfast meats or reduces pricing to account for poor quality. Staff were nice enough.

Fast food restaurant
KFC Perth - Dunkeld Road is a popular fast food eatery recognized for its signature fried chicken served in buckets and combo meals accompanied by various side dishes. Visitors have consistently praised this location for its cleanliness, well-maintained premises, and friendly staff. The fries are served piping hot, while the chicken is described as exceptionally juicy and flavorful. It is suggested that other KFC establishments follow the standard set by this particular branch to enhance their overall service quality within the United Kingdom.
We went in, the smell was that of urine, there was 3 tables in use all the rest were dirty, I ordered on the app then was told there was no chicken on the bone and would be 20min so I got mini fillets instead. The bin was overflowing, not a good experience at all. I have been into this KFC several times and never been run well but today was particularly bad, no orders being made and staff are standing behind the counter talking nobody out cleaning the mess. Probably will not be back to this KFC.

10th May 2025 me and my wife ordered two wraps and this is what we got. Two wraps were wrapped in a disgusting way. Also the wraps were cold when they served us. I went to the counter and was informed about the coldness of wraps. They didn't even apologize to me. Just sent wraps to the kitchen and heated up and gave us again. No apologies 😐.

Ordered the new rice bowl with extra fillet. Bowl came with NO RICE, NO SWEET POTATO, NO EXTRA FILLET. Not the first time I’ve order online and got multiple items missing. Terrible.
Dance E — Google review
I came in here last week and could not believe the abysmal hygiene standards. From the second you cross the threshold there's an overwhelming stench of urine and the tables are all filthy. It's incredibly difficult to stomach eating in there. I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and I felt dirty just being in there. There was faeces everywhere and the stench of urine, which was incredibly unpleasant in the cafe, was eye watering in there. I can't believe the staff use these facilities and then prepare people's food. From reading some other reviews this isn't a one-off issue and hygiene standards need to be addressed as a matter of urgency. In the meantime - at least close the door that separates the toilets from the restaurant!
Jemma — Google review
. The toilet's hygiene was far below acceptable standards. There was a noticeable lack of cleanliness, with visible grime and stains on the surfaces. The odor was unpleasant, indicating infrequent or inadequate cleaning. Basic necessities like soap and paper towels were either missing or nearly depleted, which is a serious oversight in a fast-food establishment. This poor restroom condition reflects poorly on the overall hygiene standards of the restaurant. It made me question the cleanliness of the food preparation areas as well. I hope KFC management addresses this issue promptly to ensure a more pleasant and sanitary experience for all customers."
Diego — Google review
We ordered a takeout but couldn't believe the cleanliness/tidiness of the seating area. I think there was maybe two tables and I was the only one at the counter but the place was filthy...so many tables were left unclean, litter was all over the floor and the toilets were on a par with the cleanliness of some roadside services. I am sure all is well behind the counter as the food is good, however when front of house is an absolute mess ams there is plenty staff behind doing very little it ain't a good look.

An excellent meal in a relaxed atmosphere. The host took time to explain each course. My wife and I had the 4 for 44. Fantastic value for money and the flavours were a delight, the dessert was one of the best I've ever had. Perth is blessed with a few top eateries and this is up there with the best. We had been looking forward to our visit for some weeks. The welcome was warm and friendly. The decor and ambience homely. Quality furnishings, decor and table ware - all contributed to a feeling of luxurious informal indulgence. The tasting menu was excellent. Well balanced with a thought through progression of flavours and different proteins. The attention to detail was amazing. From the Orkney Bere sourdough with confit garlic butter and wasabi butter through the Isle of White heritage tomato soup. It began on a very promising note. Then followed west coast sea trout, grated goose egg yolk, samphire and next was Carnoustie rare breed confit pineapple marinated pork with candied pecans, mash, heritage carrot and a jus to die for. Dessert was a lovely cake with Aberfeldy blue berries and a lovely curd. A cheese plate with six cheeses, an extraordinary balsamic caramelised onion chutney and a selection of crackers rounded off a wonderful evening. The wine list was expensive with a huge range of varieties from around the world. Service was perfectly paced with a full description of each course and the opportunity to ask questions. This was our first visit. It won't be our last.

An absolutely incredible place to dine! We had our wedding meal here since we weren't able to have a big reception due to COVID - It was hands down the best choice we made!!! Comfortably held 36 of us after the ceremony. We opted for a six course taster menu with matching wine flights. Throughout the evening you could literally hear people being wowed all across the room, with every new dish and wine. The food and a lot of the drinks were sourced locally and the chef has his own allotment so used his own produce. You could hands down taste the freshness and care put into each dish and when it's served accompanied by its own little story and brief detail on the wine, it just makes the whole evening feel that much more special! The whole experience, start to finish, was seamless. We met to look at our budget and discuss what we wanted. Shortly after we were sent a menu for us to review - loved how everything sounded and booked. We did some table decorations but kept it minimal as the venue has a beautiful set up as it is. The day came and they totally delivered on every front! Guests were talking about it for days and weeks after. An amazing success. We went back for a valentine's meal and can see ourselves doing a regular drop in. Thanks so much, we've been completely blown away 😊.

A wonderful experience for a special meal. You are made to feel welcome the moment you walk through the door. Cooking and service are superb. When we've eaten here, we've usually opted for the wine flight to match the tasting menu & have never been disappointed. So much thought goes into selecting a wine for each course that complements the ingredients & character of the dish.

Perth Art Gallery, with its Parthenon-inspired building, is a must-visit in the city. The iconic copper domed roof and striking external columns make it a popular spot for photographers. Inside, visitors can explore an impressive permanent collection that includes local history, natural history of the area, and various artworks. Additionally, the gallery hosts touring exhibitions and unique features to keep regular visitors excited.
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit, lots to look at, a variety of paintings, photographs, statues, and exibits etc to see. Free admission but if you can donate something it's appreciated. :) :)

Great museum, full of great exhibits and lovely staff and guides. A great few hours spent here.

A hidden gem. A lovely visit of the main galleries. The Millais room was my favourite. And the unicorn. (I've not photographed that to keep it a surprise) Stopped for a tea which was really well priced... I asked if that was just the price for one drink, and the cheery staff member said, no... that's for two. Hurrah. :) I left a donation as it was free to enter.

Super local art gallery housing some great artworks and innovative exhibitions. The ladies loo is worth a visit just to see the colourful murals! Friendly, helpful staff. Loved the John Duncan Ferguson paintings, hadn't heard of him before.
Photos R — Google review
I had a wonderful time in the gallery, lots of interesting art and a photography section, a few exhibits that needed tickets that I did see but looked interesting all the same. Highly recommend a visit.
Louis W — Google review
The staff were warm, enthusiastic, and clearly passionate—not just about the art, but about making visitors feel at home. The JD Fergusson exhibition is a vibrant, immersive journey through the life and work of one of Scotland’s most exciting Colourists. The bold use of colour, energy, and rhythm in his work feels just as alive today as it must have when first painted. The gallery does a fantastic job of telling his story—from his time in Paris and love for modernism to his deep connection with Margaret Morris. Highly recommend—whether you're already a Fergusson fan or just looking for a lovely way to spend an afternoon surrounded by colour, warmth, and creativity.

Great mix of modern and 19th century art. Toilet art was well worth the visit 😉

It was my first visit as part of an evening talk. I had an opportunity to look around the recently refurbished museum and gallery. A wonderful space and beautiful collection. Also loved the kids space, definitely a place for me to take the kids soon. Good accessibility to the building with a wheelchair lift.

Bar

Beer hall
BrewDog Perth, situated on George Street, is a no-nonsense chain bar that specializes in craft beers from the Scottish brewery. During lockdown, they offered BrewDog Now, a delivery/click and collect service for their beers and snacks. The bar is now open with outdoor seating available. Customers can also order beers, spirits, and wines for collection or delivery through the Hop Drop app. Visitors have praised the friendly staff and enjoyed participating in the free quiz events at this cozy location.
Really friendly staff and lots of lovely beer to choose from. We had the flights of beer so you san sample a few you normally wouldnt try a pint of. The pizzas were delicious. A very friendly atmosphere with good tunes and a nice vibe. Well recommended. The deals are great.
James M — Google review
Full of all the great beers you would expect, along with cocktails, wines and spirits. Good selection of pizzas and hot dogs to choose from, we had pizzas which were very nice. This bar is located in the heart of Perth, so easily accessible. Staff were very friendly, they are a credit to the brand.
Dave M — Google review
First off - pizza is the way to my heart. Secondly...beer is the nectar of life. This place was buzzing with a full crowd, the mouthwatering smell of pizzas baking, and the sound of happy patrons (myself included) enjoying their pints a little too quickly! We ordered a Pepperoni, Chilli & Honey pizza and a Spicy Venison...both absolutely unreal. I’m pretty sure there was a veggie option in there too, and it was just as amazing. By the end, there wasn’t a crumb left on the table. Bonus points for being dog-friendly, so if you’re lucky, you might get a furry little dinner guest eager to help ‘clean up’ after you’re done. We only had a few days in Perth, but coming here was easily one of the best decisions we made.

Fabulous Brewdog. Small and super friendly. We had a great time. We borrowed games to play for the large selection of board/cards games. Dogs always welcome!
Maggie W — Google review
It's a nice little place, we have been a few times. Standard brewdog food and a bit overpriced for wine. Toilets clean enough but a little dim.
Louise B — Google review
Sat for 20minutes. Eventually had to go to the bar to order even though we had been told that she would be over to take order. Seemed more interested in petting a customer's dog.
Carol C — Google review
We stopped in before heading back to the train station. Beer, as always, was on point. I had the Fractal Dragon Double IPA (DIPA) 8.5% and Sam had the Cocoa Psych Expresso Stout 10%. Both were stellar. Service was super friendly. Toilets could use a cleaning.

2 for one drink deal was amazing, and the free bandaid & wound tending thrown in after my embarrassing tumble when leaving was absolutely class! for the walking inept, I recommend yellow paint on the step. for plain idiots like me, a flashing sign should suffice. fabulous all around! the staff were seriously so nice for coming out to check on me asap, promise i’m ok, just a lil emotionally wounded.

Museum
The Perth Museum has recently undergone a 26.5 million redevelopment, making it a world-class cultural and heritage attraction that showcases the captivating objects and stories central to Scotland's history. The museum features the renowned Stone of Destiny, also known as the Stone of Scone, along with various exhibitions spanning different time periods such as Georgian Perth and medieval significance. Visitors praise its accessibility and engaging displays, although some found certain artifacts hard to follow.
What an amazing museum. You can see the investment that’s been made here and the care that’s gone into curating a space that’s as interesting as it is informative. It’s a lovely, open, bright space which makes it feel welcoming. The staff were so lovely and when we arrived informed us there was a chance to see the Stone of Destiny in the next few minutes. I was so surprised it was free as it was a brilliantly done interactive experience! Really cool to see the actual stone, too. The shop and cafe spaces were lovely and I can’t wait to come and spend more time here.
Lynsey M — Google review
Quirky museum. The Stone of Destiny is kinda cool. There's an animated movie that tells about the history of it. The Macbeth exhibit was very interesting, tying history to the Scottish play. Many of the exhibits are very small and singular. Little pockets of music, social, and natural history. The docents are knowledgeable and generous with their knowledge. The nibbles in the cafe were fresh and tasty
Andrea U — Google review
Great to visit the Perth Museum. I have been working on the design of the renovation of the former City Hall. The museum, the council and the contractors did a great job. The Stone of Destiny a worth a visit! I was unable to see the stone due to an incident last weekend. But knowing the story behind: go and see it!
Francesco V — Google review
Great museum celebrating Scottish heritage. There's a lot of interactive stuff here, great for kids. A really beautiful building too.

Enjoyed our visit here. Shame the Stone Of Destiny is closed off just now. Bit confusing about the EC dates. Not sure it warrants changing from AD/BC. A little strange 🤔
Aly M — Google review
Its worth visiting just to see the Stone of Destiny up close. The MacBeth exhibition was also very good. There are plenty other interesting things to see, too, of course.
Sandy S — Google review
Entry to Perth Museum is free, and it’s absolutely worth visiting. There’s a lot to see in the museum and most importantly showcases the historic Stone of Destiny in an interactive exhibition room

Really enjoyed the stone of Destiny experience, didn't have a lot of time to explore the rest of the museum but, I'm happy with what I managed to see. The cafe was decent, had a raspberry rocky road which was delicious and a hot chocolate which was very nice.

Nature & Parks
The Norie-Miller Walk is a delightful journey that meanders alongside the River Braan, enveloped by enchanting woodlands filled with towering Douglas firs and charming bridges. This picturesque path offers a magical experience for families, especially during festive seasons when it transforms into a winter wonderland adorned with beautiful decorations. Visitors can enjoy themed events like the Perth light nights, which create an inviting atmosphere even in less-than-ideal weather.
Beautiful 🥰 x-mas decoration at this place. Nice and clean and tidy. Plenty of help from staffs and no shortage of hot food and coffee ☕. Plenty of free parking available on both side of the road. Smelly toilets the only thing, but rest all 5 *. Must visit place in Perth in December.

A stunning location all year round that's truly a blessing to have in Perth. Well maintained in a way that allows access for the public but nature can still thrive. The wild green spaces are lovely, there's so many bird and insect species. Rating 5 stars for this aspect alone. Major downside is the ponds though, as we all know that's an issue throughout Perth, and it's a real shame to see them empty. Used to have incredible pond life thriving here, but I haven't seen many tadpoles etc. in ages. Please save our precious ponds 😢

Lovely wee Christmas wonderland for the kids. Our young granddaughter loved it! All in all, a good experience for us adults also.....but without being too pernickety, there is room for improvement next year! No cheeky (elves) or reindeer seen on our visit & our granddaughter wanted to feed them with the bag of food given on entry!

St. John's Bar & Restaurant is a popular venue in Perthshire, known for its professional and friendly staff, top-notch service, and amazing food. The restaurant offers huge portions of sensational meals, including delicious fillet steak and venison. The diverse menu features tasty options like steak pie and cocktails served by the friendly staff at the stylish bar. Despite some minor issues with pastry and steak orders, the overall experience is highly recommended for those looking for a decent meal in Perth.
This place is amazing from the time you walk in to leaving. All the staff are so professional, polite and friendly. Service was top notch. Forgot to take a photo of our dessert..... Home made cheese cake with chocolate - omg, it's out of this world. The meal was sensational, I want to go back again but we're leaving early tomorrow. They're huge portions and if there was a 6 star for the food and service, I'd give them as they fully deserve it. You are my go to for a decent meal for my next trip.....very soon! Thank you ❤️😋

Really good food and great service on a quiet, rainy Monday at the end of January, so not many people about. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back

Glad to say better than the first visit. Fillet steak was spot on, Venison was delicious. Steak pie was tasty, only negative was puff pastry wasn't puff and not cooked enough for me. Service fantastic. Went on a Saturday night and it was jumping. Menu diverse, unfortunately they had ran out of Sirlion steak, by 7.30. Feather steak was melt in the mouth, 2 T-bone steaks also ordered, neither came out as ordered. Soup was delicious. As was the raspberry sorbet that accompanied the cheesecake. Service good have been better, hoping it's just teething problems. The atmosphere was good, decor is fantastic, unfortunately tge only photos I took was in the toilets. Would return.

So first time eating here and it was amazing, started of haggis bonbons were divine with lovely sauce. Mains I had the braised feather blade steak and it was melt in the mouth and so full of flavour, hubby had the venison loin with black pudding mash, which was extremely tender and tasty, we ended with the dark chocolate fondant with blood orange sorbet, which was heavenly. Staff were very nice and friendly especially Breagh, only didn’t give 5 stars to atmosphere as we were seated next to work station which was a bit inconvenient. Would definitely go again
Claire W — Google review
Amazing food! Starter, main and dessert so unique and delicious!! Highly recommend the haddock and prawn main! Melt in your mouth deliciousness!! Atmosphere great, so nice to see a busy, booked up restaurant with a great buzz about it. Music was great, setting a relaxed but up beat mood. Stunning decor, modern and cosy feels. great cocktails and staff super friendly. So so good 10/10. So nice to see an independent restaurant do it THIS GOOD!! Every detail is lush!! Can’t wait to come back and wish you all the continued success.

Had a lovely meal here on a very busy Saturday night. It's only recently opened and really clear that a lot of time and thought has gone into the menu, and the decor (the loos are v pretty 😉). Amazing food and really friendly knowledgeable staff. All our food arrived promptly, despite the place being packed. I recommend the feather steak (sooo tender) and the boozy sorbets 🥰

Paco's Restaurant is a long-standing establishment in Perth, known for its vintage American-style diner ambiance and diverse menu. Stunning restaurant with a wonderful old time atmosphere. From the music to the decor, it feels like stepping back in time in a beautiful way. Wide menu and really nice drinks. It’s very spacious, making tables feel private as not crammed together. It’s a must do if you’re in Perth. Cannot recommend enough.

We visited for dinner as a family and had a fantastic family dinner. Easy to get too in the city, the only thing that was a drawback for me was having mobility issues and the stairs leading into the building. We did not want to sit outside on the terracing, so it took me time to manage the stairs. But having gotten into the restaurant, we had a wonderful dinner. We did not order starters, just our main dishes, desserts and drinks. The service was great, food was excellent as was the cocktails and we had a fantastic evening. Would return again, a little negative for the access for mobility reasons for myself but overall we all had an lovely time.

Loved everything about this place! It was fantastic! Definitely best to book, my husband and I went on a Monday evening and it was packed. Having said that, you didn't feel overwhelmed as the tables are nicely separate from each other and you could still have a romantic meal and good conversation. Highly recommend this place if you are in Perth. Please don't go by it!

Visited as we were in the nearby hotel and were blown away by the food. The beef pasta with truffle oil is one of the best things I've had in ages. The atmosphere was great and the staff accommodating. Good prices too considering the quality. Next time we're in Perth we're def going back. We had starters, main, desert and cocktails, all really good.

A prawn cocktail and bread and oils for starters. Prawn and chicken fajitas and a spicy chicken burger. 2 cokes all for under 60 quid. Delicious and great staff will definitely be back. We have been coming here since opening in 1990. We would recommend Pacos to all well worth a visit if your in Perth.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Perth, Kisa's is a culinary haven that has been delighting diners since its opening in 2015. This stylish eatery, conveniently located near the Concert Hall and local shops, offers an all-day menu featuring British cuisine and refreshing cocktails. With seasonal outdoor seating available, it’s an ideal spot for everything from light lunches to celebratory dinners or casual drinks with friends.
Visited on 3 occasions as staying nearby. After doing the tourist visits, it was nice to sit outside in the sunshine and enjoy a bottle of Pinot and people watch. All the staff were luvly, always chatty and friendly. On our visits it was always busy with diners, which is always a good sign, the cabinet with the strawberries looked delicious . We thoroughly enjoyed our visits, their flowers in the outside seating are beautiful, lots of colours, we will return next time visiting Perth. :) :)

Update - been in for breakfast 3 times in the last 2 weeks. Excellent deal on full cooked breakfast. French toast with bacon is good, the French toast with fruit, is good but need to check fruit. On one visit my companion only liked the strawberry, not the mango, pineapple or kiwi. Went in for cocktails, Pina Colada was ice cubes and not crushed ice, it was no problem for the bar person to take it back and put it in the blender. Excellent customer service. Great location, comfy seating in lounge area, great for a drink or two. Can get a bit crowded as it's a busy place. Service is good. Definitely go back.

Very welcoming staff, we talked to 3 different staff and all of them were super nice , really nice restaurant , The food was good , the pizza was a bit oily but it was fresh and it wasn't bad, The only issue I had is that the restaurant was 3/4 empty, there was a lot of empty tables and they made us sit at the end and corner of the restaurant with a giant aluminium box in our face for some reason, which it made us eat and leave for another bar
Daniel F — Google review
We have sat here the past 3 afternoons in between showers and sun. It is a great place to people watch outside while drinking nice Pinot Grigio and eating nibbles. We may venture here this afternoon. 🤔 It's always busy, so that speaks highly of the food and service.

Recommend making a reservation if you're planning to go here. We didn't, but we did manage to get a table for two as a walk-in although I think we threw off their server a bit (sorry)! We were tired from travel so ended up just getting apps as our mains and a few drinks, but everything was delicious. The salmon and beetroot salad was very tasty in particular. The location is great, very central and easy to walk to from anywhere.

Love this spot!! If you like authentic ,traditional Italian style pizza, then you're gonna love this place! The pizza is always fresh and delicious, and the pasta dishes are equally as satisfying. Highly recommend! The best pizza I have ever had!I have tried many pizza places in the area but none compare to the quality and taste of Olive tree Pizza and Pasta. The pizza was cooked to perfection and the toppings were fresh and flavorful. The pasta dishes were also delicious and also the chef was very friendly..Highly recommend! This place is a must visit for anyone who wants to try authentic Italian food. HIDDEN GEM💎

Amazing pizza made by a great pizzaiolo who has nearly 30 years experience making pizza in Italy. He even has the photos and certificates to prove it! Best pizza in Perth and better than any I have had in Glasgow/Edinburgh. Rivals some of the best pizza places I have ever tried. A lovely family that run it too, definitely give it a try if you are thinking about it.

During my trip to Scotland, I stayed in Perth and discovered Olive Tree Takeaway—an absolute gem! I had a delicious pizza, a Nutella and banana focaccina, and a brownie served with amazing Italian gelato. Every bite was a delight. The quality of the food truly surprised me—easily on par with, if not better than, many Italian pizzerias back home. The owners were incredibly kind and welcoming, and the service was impressively fast. On top of that, the price was more than fair, especially considering the level of quality. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Perth. I'll definitely come back if I return to Scotland. Huge compliments to the staff!

Excellent pizza. I had the Diavola, it wasn’t too hot just a little kick from the chillies and njuda, fresh dough rolled to a typical Italian thickness, perfect slightly charred undercarriage. The shop hadn’t fully opened yet, but the gent invited us in, took my order and offered us a seat until ready. In and out in 10 mins. Great value for money and service, I will definitely be back.

I’ve never had a “Diavola” sandwich. Brie, and jalapenos, that’s all I’m going to say but there’s more to it. And you need to get one! Fantastic fresh food bursting with flavor. The service is awesome. It’s apparent that your business is appreciated. Don’t miss this place that also serves Ice cream and cakes.

We nipped into The Olive Tree for a quick ice cream and were met with lovely, friendly staff who made us feel welcome straight away. While the selection of flavours isn’t huge, the quality more than makes up for it – we both went for the pistachio, and it was exceptionally tasty. Rich, creamy, and full of flavour – well worth a visit.
