Tramways
The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway offers a unique experience, taking visitors on a scenic journey through Chino Canyon to the mountain station. The tram cars rotate as they ascend over 1 mile, providing breathtaking views of the Coachella Valley and its nine cities. Once at the mountain station, visitors can explore Mount San Jacinto State Park with its 50 miles of hiking trails, observation decks, natural history museum, and documentary theaters.
Absolutely incredible experience! The Aerial Tramway is a must-do in Palm Springs. The ride up the mountain was smooth, breathtaking, and surprisingly peaceful. The rotating tram gives you 360° views of the desert, cliffs, and forest—unlike anything else. At the top, the temperature was refreshingly cool and the views were spectacular. Whether you're up for a hike, a bite to eat, or just want to take in the scenery, it's well worth the trip. Staff were friendly and organized, and everything felt safe and well-maintained. Truly one of the highlights of my visit to Palm Springs. Don’t miss it!
Cindy A — Google review
View and ride up was spectacular. Did a 2 mile hike. Be aware it's much colder up there than where you park. After our hike the tram had electrical issues. Luckily we weren't stuck on it. It was down for several hours. Luckily it was back online that evening to take us down.
Anthony L — Google review
The tram is a fun experience and lifts you 8500 feet above the desert to a much cooler environment. We hiked to the summit of San Jacinto. We moved fast but if you are going to hike be prepared with water and some food. Also be prepared to scramble up some boulders at the summit! The mountains are covered with a forest providing some shade. Wear good shoes for hiking
Mark C — Google review
What a great way to spend the day! The ride up was fun—just a little scary at times—but much easier on the way down. There are about five lookout points at the top with stunning desert views. The hike wasn’t too difficult and is manageable for kids, with a couple of loop trails to explore. The facilities at the top are well-maintained, making it a comfortable visit. Overall, a great day adventure and a perfect escape from the valley heat.
Matthew — Google review
The experience was excellent. There was no wind to speak of and the ride was super smooth going both ways, but steep and perhaps no ideal for people who are sensitive to heights. The views in the car and ontop of the mountain are spectacular. The food was well above average. The hike opportunities are nice and not very strenuous, although the high altitude and the thinner air will exert your body disproportionally. Would recommend the ride to anyone who is not fazed by heights.
Dimitrios T — Google review
I absolutely love this place. It makes for a great escape from the heat of Palm Springs. Just a 3 mile drive outside the city and you are on your way up to the state park and 30 degree temperatures relief. Huge pine trees and relaxing environment.. great trails and fun bar to visit after a long hike.
Kara M — Google review
Had an excellent time sightseeing, exploring the visitor center, and of course riding the tram itself! On a clear day, you can see all the way to the Salton Sea. Staff are friendly and kind. It's best to get in line as early as possible in the boarding area, for you to ensure a place near a window. A few of our fellow guests were just a little rude, but that is to be expected in any tourist destination. It's also highly recommended to buy tickets days ahead of time, because during busy times like holidays and weekends you might find yourself with a multi hour wait for a walk-up ticket.
Emily B — Google review
Very cool place to visit, the nature and vistas are really beautiful also a great way to exercise since it took us almost 2 hr to walk around and enjoy couple of spectacular viewing points. Definitely must see if visiting Palm Springs.

Nature & Parks
Carolyn Crayton Park is a beloved downtown Macon destination that offers a variety of amenities for visitors. This central park features picnic shelters, grills, playgrounds, and a gazebo, making it an ideal spot for picnics and outdoor gatherings. Additionally, the park is known for hosting special events such as the annual International Cherry Blossom Festival.
We had a blast at the Cherry Blossom Best and can't wait to attend again next year. Good vibes, lots of food, great weather, and smiling faces. Bag checks were being enforced, and many had to take bags back to their vehicle. Made the lines and entry longer, but gave a huge sense of added security taking into account the actions of today's society.
TT T — Google review
Super nice fields in a nice park. I wish they were a bit wider, as they are too narrow for a true rugby field and according to some people in Macon, the city of Macon will not paint the field with rugby markings, even though rugby teams with up to 30-40 people travel as far as Charleston in the east and Montgomery in the west to compete and spend money in Macon. That's the only reason I would give the park 4 stars out of 5.
Germy B — Google review
We got there when the Festival started! It was super fun and beautiful seeing the cherry blossoms! The area was clean and had bathrooms available.
Gladys S — Google review
This is a very big and beautiful park. We can spend the whole day here. There is fresh air and beautiful trees.
Reeva — Google review
I love this park. I can't believe that it doesn't have more people go to it. There are a few different playgrounds, a pond, a big gazebo, peaceful gardens, a SKATEPARK, several sets of restrooms, three football fields, a bunch of baseball fields in the back, lots of shade trees, plenty of parking, right off the Olcmulgee Trail, and it is very well kept up. Lots of things here to do and see. The area is SAFE. I have not been bothered out here one bit. I like to go out here to get exercise in and just be with nature. It is a nice place to visit. Check it out!
Kyle P — Google review
We really enjoyed the private section. The bathrooms could use more attention during the games. The food provided for us was good. Will definitely go again. Wear comfortable shoes or arrive early. It's a LONG walk with no shuttle service if you wait until the last minute.
Renee — Google review
The park has come a long way from my younger days.
Dexter S — Google review
I literally only left a star because I have to in order to leave the review. We went to this park today. I lived in Macon for 38 years before I moved to Nebraska. I've been gone 3 years, I came back yo visit my daughter and other family and took my kids to this park. What I saw her will never leave my mind and we will never be back. When we come back for subsequent trips we will not be coming to Macon. That makes me so sad because this used to be a beautiful city. Walking through this park we saw trash all over the banks of the pond, the playground equipment was dirty on all 3 playgrounds. There were homeless all over the park. Worst of all, we walked passed one of the bathrooms and there was the largest pile of human feces any person has ever seen ever. It was covered in flies and people just walked by like it was normal. There were grounds keepers every where.. I would say do better but yall won't. We'll just go back to Lincoln, thanks for the reminder of why we dont come to macon.

Prometheus Cave Natural Monument, also known as Kumistavi Cave, is a vast limestone cave located 21km from Kutaisi in Tsqaltubo, Georgia. The cave stretches about 11 km in total, with 1060m open to visitors and features 22 chambers, six of which are accessible to tourists. Visitors can embark on an easy walk through the cave illuminated by multi-colored LEDs that highlight its stunning stalactites and stalagmites.
It was an enjoyable experience, taking about an hour to explore the entire cave. Be ready for walking and climbing stairs. No jacket was needed during our July-August visit, as the cave was cool and refreshing. Aim to be at the front of the queue to better hear the guide, as groups can include up to 100 people.
Awesome L — Google review
Relatively enjoyable experience, it takes about an hour to complete the guided tour through the cave. The tour I was on spoke the information In Georgian, English and then Russian which I feel was too much. It would be better to split into language groups which would make the groups more manageable…there must have been 60 people on the one I was on. The cave itself is very beautiful though and the pathways are well kept. Well worth visiting, just go in the morning and on a weekday when it’s quieter!
Ellie S — Google review
Well-presented cave with good atmosphere Prometheus Cave is worth the visit if you're in Kutaisi. The cave itself is impressive, but what really elevates it is how they've set it up. Each hall has its own music and lighting that changes as you move through. It's not overdone—actually adds to the experience rather than feeling gimmicky. Made viewing each section more engaging. The formations are solid, well-lit so you can actually see the details. Walkways are in good condition, easy to navigate. At the end, there's an optional boat ride out of the cave for an additional 20 Lari. I took it and enjoyed it—nice way to finish the tour rather than just walking back out. Tour moves at a reasonable pace. Not rushed, but doesn't drag either. Good value for what you get. Would recommend.
Jun S — Google review
Prometheus Cave is a stunning natural site. The walk through the cave takes you past incredible rock formations, all beautifully lit and well-maintained. The inside is cool and refreshing, especially in the summer. If you get cold easily, a light jacket is a good idea. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes — the walk is long but enjoyable. At the end of the cave, there’s a short boat ride that adds a fun touch, although it doesn’t last more than a few minutes. After exiting, you’ll find a small supermarket for refreshments, and a shuttle bus takes you back to the main entrance. There, you can enjoy traditional food or shop for small souvenirs. As for the guided tour, it felt a bit rushed. We didn’t get much time to pause for photos unless we were okay falling behind. The guide spoke English, but it was hard to follow due to the fast pace and overlapping noise from other groups. A slower delivery or separate tours by language would improve the experience and help everyone enjoy the cave more fully. We used the Maxim app for transportation — it was cheaper and quicker than Bolt in this area. Overall, it’s a must-visit in the Kutaisi region, but the tour style could be improved.
Abdurrahman — Google review
The Prometheus Caves in Georgia are a breathtaking natural wonder that invite visitors into a world sculpted by time. Located near Kutaisi, these limestone caves are filled with stunning stalactites, stalagmites, underground rivers, and shimmering lakes that create an almost otherworldly atmosphere. Colorful lighting carefully illuminates the pathways, highlighting the intricate rock formations and amplifying their natural beauty without diminishing their authenticity. The guided tours offer fascinating insights into the cave’s geology and its discovery, making the experience both educational and awe-inspiring. For those seeking a touch of adventure, the underground boat ride through the final stretch of the cave adds a magical sense of exploration. The Prometheus Caves remind every visitor of nature’s artistry and the quiet grandeur hidden beneath the earth’s surface.
Darwin D — Google review
Ticket for tourist is 25 GEL. The tour is about 1 hour, guide included. But we had such a huge group that we couldn’t hear the guide at all. It was so packed and disorganised. The management needs to improve this for sure. The cave is very beautiful but the overall experience was poor. So if you set your expectations right, you might be able to enjoy it more 😅
Shanny — Google review
Pros: The natural site itself is breathtaking. So many beautiful halls, nice music inside creating atmosphere, good distance to enjoy the view but not too exhausting. Cons: Logistics of the place is not ideal. The guided groups they form are close to 100 people. So considering people follow the narrow path whose in the end do not hear guide at all and always late to all explanations.
Kate D — Google review
The caves are a natural wonder. The different formations underground are mesmerizing and it's a 1.4km walk on a cemented track once underground. The track is a bit wet so be sure to wear proper comfortable shoes that are tough to get wet. There are no exists midway and the tour takes about an bit over an hour to complete. There are 6 main halls with each having its own significance.

Bagrati Cathedral, located in Kutaisi, Georgia, is a historic Orthodox cathedral originally built in the 11th century by King Bagrat III. Despite being damaged and rebuilt over the centuries, it remains a significant monument representing the Republic of Georgia. The cathedral offers stunning views of the Kolkheti Lowlands and Teleti Range. Visitors can also explore the ruins of the inner citadel behind the cathedral.
Bagrati Cathedral is one of the most iconic places in Kutaisi. We visited around sunset, and the view from the top was absolutely beautiful. The cathedral is located on a hill, and the golden light over the city made the atmosphere feel peaceful and relaxing. Inside the church, the feeling was very spiritual and calm. It’s a quiet space that gives a strong sense of history and respect. After that, we walked around to the back of the church and followed a small path uphill. From there, we found a beautiful open spot with a full view of the river and the city. It was one of the best viewpoints we discovered during our trip. The area around the cathedral is clean and quiet. A great place to take photos, enjoy the breeze, or just sit and relax. We got there easily using Yandex Go, which was fast and affordable from the city center. Although it didn’t take long to explore, it’s a place that stays with you. Peaceful, scenic, and definitely worth visiting while you’re in Kutaisi

It's a very calm and serene place, located at the top of a small hill. Hence will offer a great view of the city from top, also a great spots to click some pics. The cathedral with its unique appearance in the green background is awsome. Inside the cathedral is very calm and spiritual. It's a must visit place in kutasi.

A beautiful 11th century cathedral sitting on the hill in Kutaisi city is simply beautiful. We came in the evening and the evening rays of sun gave the church a warm and serene atmosphere. It is full of stories and worth for us to know about. For me, it is a must visit sightseeing if you are in Kutaisi.

Kutaisi's premier cathedral is big and impressive. It is surrounded by the picturesque ruins of a royal castle, which are fun to explore. Stunning views of Kutaisi can also be found on the site. Definitely a must see sight in Kutaisi.
Matthew U — Google review
Wonderful cathedral and one of the old churches. The current construction is sort of mixed with the new structure added to support the existing one and stands out .the view front the mount of the town below is awesome
Ramesh N — Google review
Huge church beautifully restored. Inside the church, you'll find the much debated shroud of Turin. Very interesting visit. We even caught 2 weddings during our short visit.
Paul T — Google review
Beautiful old cathedral. You can see the whole city of Kutaisi from a nice viewpoint near the cathedral.
Dmitry L — Google review
Beautiful historic Cathedral offering beautiful views over surrounding countryside. It is really a masterpiece of medieval Georgian architecture, built in 1003 during the reign of King Bagrat III to commemorate the unification of Georgia. Its location atop Ukimerioni Hill offers sweeping views of Kutaisi and the surrounding landscape. The cathedral’s triconch cross-domed design, innovative use of high piers for the dome, and once richly decorated interiors with mosaics and frescoes set it apart architecturally. Over centuries, it endured devastation—most notably in 1692 when Ottoman troops destroyed its dome and ceiling. Restoration efforts, especially those completed in the 21st century, have sparked debate about authenticity, leading to its removal from the UNESCO World Heritage List. Despite this, Bagrati remains a beloved symbol of Kutaisi and Georgian identity, hosting regular religious services and popular local weddings. Its blend of ancient stonework and modern restoration, along with its storied past, make it a compelling destination for history enthusiasts and cultural travelers alike.

Kutaisi Botanical Garden

4.3
(1055)
Botanical garden
Kutaisi Botanical Garden, located on the north bank of the Rioni River, is home to around 800 varieties of plants, shrubs, and trees. Originally established in the 1820s and officially opened as a botanical garden in 1969, it offers a serene environment for visitors to explore. While some suggest that more facilities and better plant labeling could enhance the experience, others appreciate its tranquility and unique features such as a chapel carved inside a tree.
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the botanical garden, which was breathtakingly beautiful and impeccably maintained. The garden showcased a diverse array of plant species, but unfortunately, there was no information available on how to purchase seeds or propagate the plants. However, the serene atmosphere and abundance of benches made it an ideal spot to unwind and relax. The garden also features a hiking trail for those looking to explore further. I appreciated the affordable entrance fee, which was significantly cheaper than other similar attractions. I highly recommend visiting the botanical garden for a peaceful and rejuvenating experience. Additionally, dog owners will appreciate that the garden is dog-friendly, making it a great outing for the whole family.
Yasmine A — Google review
A nice spot with the nature, close to the center of Kutaisi. Usually not very crowded. Still many areas needs better maintenance and planning however changes are happening as of March 2025. It can get noisy at times, especially in the old garden due to some construction works by the park. Entry fee is 5 Lari
Robert M — Google review
The Kutaisi Botanical Garden is such a peaceful and charming place to spend a few hours. It feels like stepping into a calm oasis right in the city. The garden is full of beautiful trees and plants, and there are plenty of benches where you can sit, relax, and just enjoy the greenery. My favorite part was the little chapel built inside a centuries-old oak tree—it’s something truly unique and magical to see. The paths are pleasant to walk, and you’ll also come across fountains, sculptures, and quiet corners that make it perfect for photos or simply unwinding. The entrance fee is very affordable, and it’s an easy walk from the city center. While it’s not the most polished or modern botanical garden, that’s part of its charm—it feels authentic, natural, and very serene. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting Kutaisi who wants a relaxing break from sightseeing. 🌿✨

Went there in the summer and at 33°C. Honestly some super cute things, in general a little bit more maintenance on paths and exhibits. Some text was in Georgian only. Cool place in general 👍🏼

A very pleasant walk at the edge of the city of Kutaisi.. There is an entrance fee of 4€. It's a cute, relaxing place where you can spend some time in the nature.. Not much to do actually but why not take a stroll there as the sights of the city are not that numerous?

Its a beautiful place and very large. Took us around an hour to complete. Simply put, its like taking a walk in the forest. You can hear birds chriping all over. They have benches everywhere, so you can take a break and enjoy nature's beauty.
Ahmed E — Google review
The gardens - nice enough garden to walk around but could do with some more up keeping. The toilet facilties are plenty however the main toilets in the centre (with western style toilets instead of the hole in the ground) we’re disgusting with urine all of the floor. Price - surprisingly, we had to pay 5GEL to enter which once we’d walked round the whole place (in around 30 minutes with kids) it felt very expensive.

When in Kutaisi, a visit to the Green Bazaar is a must for anyone interested in Georgian cuisine and local culture. This central marketplace offers an array of fresh produce, wine, bread, meats, cheeses, spices, and various goods. Despite its seemingly small size at first glance, the bazaar comprises numerous sections to explore. It's a delightful experience to observe locals engaging with each other while perusing through the stalls filled with enticing aromas and locally brewed wines like ChaCha.
Rustic yet beautiful place! Authentic! 😍😍It’s a beautiful market and you can see Georgian ladies selling cheese and walnut desserts 🥰🌸 you can also buy some authentic Georgian stuff there 💙💙💙💙💙

Nice place to see local life and buy fresh fruits, spices, and traditional snacks. The market is full of local products and good prices, but most sellers weren’t very friendly with tourists. Still worth a quick visit if you’re in Kutaisi. Just bring cash and don’t expect much English.

The historic Green Bazaar is something you should definitely check out when in Kutaisi. Bring some cash as most vendors don’t accept card/transfer. Its good to allocate 1-2 hours to explore this huge market fully. Google says it closes at 19:00, but when we came at 18:00 most stands were already closing down so come earlier if you can

"A vibrant taste of everyday life in Kutaisi ✨" The Green Bazaar is one of the most authentic places you can visit in Kutaisi. It is not just a tourist attraction but an important spot for locals who come here daily to do their grocery shopping. Walking through the market gives you a real feel of Georgian life, with fresh produce, spices, and all kinds of goods on display. Sataplia Nature Reserve covers 330 hectares and boasts lush forests, karst caves, and dinosaur footprints. It's a year-round destination, but cave exploration requires a guided tour. The park entrance is free, with a nominal fee for tours. Visitors can enjoy the breathtaking view from the glass bridge. The reserve offers an immersive experience in paleontological history and captivating cave exploration accompanied by knowledgeable guides who speak Russian, Georgian, and English.
Beautiful nature reserve with caves. Did not saw dinosaur foot prints because the area was closed ☹️. Great view of the city. Temperature inside the cave is always 14°c, as with an caves there, so one may need warm clothes.

The greenest of the green!! Sataplia Nature Reserve is one of the most beautiful nature reserves I have seen. From the cave to the beautiful trees!! It is one of the best places to visit if you are in Kutaisi Georgia. Breathtaking view and weather! A lot of things to see. Walking in the middle of the road full of green trees, made my day visit even more beautiful.

Sataplia Nature Reserve is a really fun and unique place, especially for families with children. The combination of dinosaurs and nature is amazing, it feels like a mix of adventure and learning at the same time. The highlight for us was seeing the real dinosaur footprints (or at least they certainly look real!) which made the experience feel very special. The park itself is beautiful, with a clear and easy route to follow. Along the way, there are breathtaking viewpoints where you can stop and enjoy the scenery. Everything is well maintained, and it makes for a relaxed but interesting walk. Unfortunately, the dinosaur museum display inside the building was closed during our visit, which was a bit disappointing. It would have added more depth to the experience. That said, the outdoor dinosaur representations, animated robotic figures, were very well done and really impressed the kids. Overall, Sataplia is a very nice attraction. It’s educational, fun, and set in a gorgeous natural environment. Definitely recommended for families, especially if you’re traveling with children who love dinosaurs.

After reading some of the reviews, this place turned out to be a very pleasant surprise! It’s a great spot to spend 1,5-2 hours walking around and enjoying nature, a cave, dinosaur footprints, and a beautiful panoramic view. Highly recommended!

The paleopark is so beautiful and close to Kutaisi. The first step is dinosaur footprints that are from Early Cretaceous. I recommend everyone to see the footprints that are thought to belong to Satapliasaurus. Then, the limestone cave is impressive and so cool. Stalactites and stalagmites are a masterpiece. Afterwards you can experience the observation deck to see the Caucasia landscape that is home to immense forests on the foothills.

The Okatse Canyon Visitor Centre is a stunning natural attraction in Georgia, featuring suspended boardwalks that offer breathtaking views of the verdant river canyon, waterfalls, and cliffs. It's an ideal day trip from Kutaisi, where you can also visit the Gelati monastery and Prometheus underground cave. The visitor center offers a few hours of walking amidst beautiful scenery, but if you prefer a shorter visit or are with family and kids, you can head directly to the Hanging Path entrance.
Absolutely phenomenal place. If you are able, consider walking, not using cab. In the morning during spring place is rather empty and you can take your time to enjoy the view. For me only flaw is that smoking is alliwed, but it is popular in the whole country so I do not blame the park.
Marta S — Google review
The views from the bridges are spectacular! Definitely worth a visit. The walk is not long — only the first part is a bit scary, as you walk on a perforated walkway. The whole experience takes less than 30 minutes. Advice about the road there: There is NO NEED to hire a driver or to walk the way. After buying tickets at the visitor center, drive your car a little way back along the road you came from. Soon, you will see a sign to the left for "Okatse Canyon", and a paved road will take you all the way to the starting point. Any vehicle can go there. We hired a driver and paid 70 GEL — totally unnecessary. Anyone can drive the road. It's narrow, but not a problem.
Liat L — Google review
The place is closed, no information why and when will be open. Getting here wasn’t simple, fallow the road signs and don’t be scared about route there, it’s heavily damaged at some places… by the time you will be going there maybe will be fixed. Edit at the 30.03.2025 I went there again and this time was open. From the cash desk to the entrance to the canyon you have a walk that will take about an hour. In a canyon is path that will take around 30 minutes. At the end of the trial you can take taxi back to the visitors center or walk back. I’m walking fast so whole path took me 2h. In average people spent there around 3h. If you are in Kutaisi or near by, it’s worth to visit it. Ticket cost 20gel
Jacek M — Google review
Beautiful route to the canyon and walking above it revels great view. There are many stairs along the trail. We've done the walking from the visitors center, but it is also possible to reach by car to the begining of the canyon itself. Highly recommended!
Barak L — Google review
Lady at reception barely speaks English and is hard to understand that actually you need to walk 2.5km to the actual canyon where your tickets will be checked. Then the actual canyon walk starts. So it’s a steep 7km hike that can take you 3h. There is an option to stop directly at the canyon by car and skip these 2.5km of nonsense walk in a forest full of pigs and horses. We took a local guy waiting at the end of the actual canyon with a Lada Niva for 60 lari to take us back to the visitor center. This saved us like 1.5-2h going back. Careful with the decisions :) The canyon itself is really nice.
Iveto0oo — Google review
Great place. Newly made attraction but very nice view. It's worth to take a taxi back after the hike as it's uphill. We managed to get down the price to 20lari for a car from 40. Also be careful of Google maps. They don't work correctly if you are coming from Prometheus Cave (05.2025) and because of some reason the only proper road is avoided by the algorithms. Follow the road that's available on Street view like on my photos! Other roads are off-road!
Michał K — Google review
Visitor center is little bit far from canyon. They suggest you take Delica car to go quickly to canyon for 25 Gel . And I think it's good option if you are not long hiking lover. There is also restaurant near visitor center with good staff and cheap prices.
Ninuc G — Google review
An incredible experience! Highly recommended. Lots of stars and about a 45 minute walk from the visitor center to the canyon. We took a car back which was a fun ride that costs us 25 Lari.

Nestled in the heart of Kutaisi's Central Park, Argonauts is a delightful bar-restaurant that opened its doors in 2023. Initially drawn by the captivating Soviet-era bas-reliefs crafted by renowned artists, I found myself returning multiple times to savor their diverse menu.
The Georgian cuisine here is absolutely delicious, with generous portions that leave you fully satisfied. The flavors are rich and authentic, offering a true taste of Georgia’s culinary heritage. The portions are more than enough, making it a great choice for anyone who loves hearty, flavorful food. Highly recommended for anyone craving great Georgian food!🇬🇪

I guess it’s reopened and has a new owner, definitely got a new name - Medea. All waiters spoke English, were able to explain the dishes, nice polite young people :) There weren’t that many people, since it was quite early, and everything was served without any delay. My khinkali craving got fulfilled, and left happy and satisfied.

The atmosphere is nice, the staff is friendly. Chicken shkmeruli was a bit salty to my taste, but tasty, ajaruli was a do good one too, however ojakhuri disappointed us, having burnt and undercooked potatoes. Overall a nice place to visit, but be careful in choosing what to order.
Jazira Y — Google review
This is as exceptional place that brings together an interesting piece of epics and very good food. We had a mainly vegan lunch based on rolled eggplants and a mix of roasted vegetables. We also had a good glass of red Georgian wine. Altogether a place to visit again!
Giancarlo S — Google review
We visited this restaurant our first night in town and tried traditional meals including adjarian khachapuri, shkmeruli chicken, and khinkali with meat. The food quality was top as well as the service and ambiance. The next night we checked a couple other places in town and returned to this restaurant again after not being impressed by any others. The second night we had the quail, veal with potatoes, khinkali with mixed meat, and lobiani. I would recommend each dish we tried depending on your personal taste (quail doesnt have much meat and a lot of bones byt that is obvious) . Quality was exceptional. Thanks to our server George for completing our experience with complimentary chacha! Each meal was between 25-30 eur and we definitely ordered too much. Try and you won't be dissappointed.

Nice new restaurant off the park in Kutaisi. The Soviet-era bas-reliefs depicting Jason and the Argonauts are phenomenal and I'm so glad the owners decided to keep them! They really make this restaurant special. The food is good – we particularly liked the ajapsandali and the khinkali. There was a little hiccup at the end of the night with the payment terminal not working, but otherwise the service was great.
Emily L — Google review
This restaurant in the center of Kutaisi impresses with its Soviet style mural. We took the advice from a travel blog and ended up there for dinner. The menu is only usable online and they serve the regular Georgian dishes with some extras. The food was good, not the best we had in Georgia, but okay. Unfortunately the service was a disaster. It was slow, our food came in an absolute random order....we finished dinner with the salad, which came dead last. The bottle of white wine was mediocre and for that a bit too expensive and on top of that...it was served warm. The servers were stressed and unorganized. All in all not the place I would return to in Kutaisi.

The cafe also offers refreshing homemade lemonade infused with ginger and honey, perfect for quenching your thirst after a day of sightseeing.
Stayed here for 1 night and hotel staff recommended it. We tried and WOW. Cooking style for some dishes is different from tbil example chicken in garlic sauce. David served us and his service is very good. See attached photos for dishes. Highly recommended. Prices are affordable

We found this place by chance. We were a group of 9 people. We needed to have a tasty meal, it was my birthday. We were invited to the terrace with a beautiful view of the city. The staff was very friendly and polite. All the food was incredibly delicious. They gave me dessert from the establishment at the end of the meal. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone who comes to Kutaisi, we were satisfied ♥️

Had a fantastic fillet steak at this restaurant, and at a reasonable price compared to what you would spend in most places. Also, the cheesecake was a great way to end the meal. Compliments to all the staff for such a great place.

Very nice and welcoming staff, amazing location and the atmosphere and the interior is also very pleasant and comfortable. We had a Caesar salad with chicken - the portion was huge for only 19 gel (quiet enough for three people to share), also the meat dumpling soup was very delicious, cozy and light. We tried the homemade lemonade with ginger and honey (1 liter in a jug) and it was very refreshing and tasty as well. Highly recommended !

😋 We ordered Beef Stroganoff and Pork BBQ. Both dishes were great (not too salty for Asian) ✅ Nice cafe (the cafe is located in the hotel) 💸 The price was reasonably. 🥲⏱️ The food takes quite a while. If you're very hungry, you should order a salad first, as I've noticed other tables get their salads quickly.

We ordered Georgian salad, chicken in garlic sauce and pork barbecue with Mexican potatoes. The main dishes were very tasty. The chicken was roasted well and the garlic sauce was very tasty. The salad could’ve had more dressing/spices, but overall it was a good salad. The atmosphere is nice. The place is not crowded. The waitress was very nice and friendly.

Fountains
Colchis Fountain is a modern fountain adorned with golden statues of animals and replicas of ancient Georgian figures. The region of Colchis, which includes areas like Egrisi, Lasika, and Odishi in Samegrelo, has a rich historical background dating back to the 8th century BC.
Located in the main square, the Colchis Fountain adds a unique character to the city of Kutaisi. Inspired by the ancient Kingdom of Colchis, the fountain features enlarged replicas of archaeological artifacts, including golden horse statues, making it both historically meaningful and visually striking. Especially in the evening, it offers a captivating view with its lighting and grandeur. It’s likely to become one of your memorable stops while exploring the city.
Birsen Y — Google review
The Colchis Fountain in the heart of Kutaisi is one of the city's most iconic landmarks and an absolute must-visit, especially if you're exploring the historic center on foot. It's located right in the middle of a busy roundabout at David Agmashenebeli Square, and it's impossible to miss due to its striking design and prominent gold-colored statues. The fountain adds a sense of charm and grandeur to the square, making it a great first impression for visitors arriving in Kutaisi. What really makes the Colchis Fountain special is its unique artistic concept. The sculptures are replicas of ancient Colchian artifacts found in Georgia, some of which are thousands of years old. The oversized golden figures—horses, rams, lions, and mythical symbols—reflect the rich history of the Kingdom of Colchis, the land of the Golden Fleece in Greek mythology. It’s a fascinating blend of ancient culture with modern urban design, and seeing them up close gives you a deeper appreciation of Georgian heritage. The fountain is especially beautiful at night when it’s lit up. The lights give the golden sculptures a magical glow, making it an ideal spot for night photography or just a peaceful evening walk. While you can’t get too close due to the traffic circle, there are great photo angles from the nearby sidewalks, cafes, or even the steps of the Drama Theatre nearby. If you're lucky, you might even catch the water jets dancing in rhythm during the evening. The area around the fountain is also vibrant and lively. It’s surrounded by important landmarks like the Kutaisi Drama Theatre, cafes, and local shops. You’ll often see locals meeting friends here, tourists taking photos, or street performers entertaining passersby. It’s a great starting point for exploring the rest of old Kutaisi, including the White Bridge, Rioni River, and historic streets full of character. Overall, the Colchis Fountain is more than just a decorative centerpiece—it’s a symbol of Kutaisi’s deep connection to its ancient past. Whether you're interested in history, photography, or simply looking for a scenic spot to take a break during your travels, this fountain delivers on all fronts. Highly recommended for a visit, both day and night!

It is a fountain located at the center of square, the center of Kutaisi. It is free. You can cross the street to enter, but be careful when crossing. It has been made to show the ancient object that have been discovered here. There is a Macdonald near with a view to this square. In addition a large park and many exchanges.
OMID S — Google review
In the quiet, cool hours before Kutaisi stirs to life, a magical transformation takes place at the Colchis Fountain. As the first rays of morning sunlight break over the horizon, they catch the golden statues of horses, lions, and stags, causing them to shimmer and glow against the soft, pre-dawn light. This iconic landmark, a stunning replica of ancient Colchian artifacts, stands in the heart of the city, its polished marble and bronze figures taking on a new, ethereal beauty. The water, calm and still in the early air, perfectly reflects the sky's changing hues from deep violet to brilliant orange. It's a moment of profound tranquility, a stark contrast to the bustling energy that will soon fill the square. For a photographer or a solitary traveler, this is the perfect time to witness the fountain in its most serene and majestic state, a timeless symbol of Georgia's rich history bathed in the morning's golden embrace.

"A true hidden gem where tea, taste, and atmosphere come together ✨" Tea House Foe-Foe is one of those places you almost walk past without noticing. Tucked away behind a door that leads up a small staircase, it reveals a cozy and authentic restaurant once you reach the top. We visited in the morning and enjoyed fresh crepes with a pot of delicious gunpowder green tea. It was quiet during our visit, which gave us time to soak in the unique and charming interior. Later that same day, we passed by again and found the place buzzing, with the balcony and restaurant full of people enjoying themselves. That contrast makes it a spot that works equally well for a peaceful morning tea or a lively evening out. It is a special find in Kutaisi and definitely worth seeking out. – Genuine Gems Overview – ⭐ Rating: 5/5 💰 Price Paid: 50 GEL 💎 A Genuine Gem? Yes!

Have to agree with previous reviewers, the air freshener inside is overpowering. The bearded manager should really be dealing with problems personally (like serving white wine at room temperature and thinking it is acceptable) instead of relaying messages on Google Translate via his young waiter when he is sat 5 metres away. Decor wise, stunning. Very homely and chill. The homemade wine was lovely and would recommend. Can imagine it would be really cosy on a colder day. Thanks to the young waiter, who was was smiley and professional.

HORRIBLE! Would NOT recommend to go there.. First we waited for 30 minutes for our Cappuccino, which was a watery milk with pieces in it.. worst coffee ever. We ordered 3 dishes. A wrong dish came after like 45 minutes. We said again the three dishes we wanted. Then suddenly they said: ah no, they dont have it.. So we waited another 10 minutes and then they only 1 dish came. We waited and waited and questioned our life choices.. the waiter only had 4 guests to serve and he didnt seem to understand… it took more than one hour to get our food. We could not eat the signature dish. It was disgusting. The avocado toasts which were supposed to come with bacon came without. Ham crep came with bacon. Horrible.

Synagogue
The Kutaisi Synagogue is a historic and colorful building located in the Jewish Quarter of Kutaisi, Georgia. Although the country's Jewish community is small today, Kutaisi was once home to one of the largest communities in Georgia. The synagogue, built in 1885, stands as a testament to this rich history. It is the largest and most grand of three synagogues in Kutaisi.
We read that this place is open from 9 to 12 on Saturdays, so we went there at 11 and despite what other reviews said, it was actually opened. We were asked to leave a service fee of 2 GEL each and we enjoyed the insides of the synagogue Please note that you should use the gate on the back of the building, and not the one on the front

We came here very excited with my mom, this week is sukkot and we thought people might be here to talk and celebrate. But we got there and there was only a Jewish Georgian-polish man at the entrance. He invited us in. My mom was telling him how excited she was to be in a synagogue and telling him other stuff, but he was in a hurry and just wanted us to give charity to them, after we said no (cuz we didn't carry cash) he said that he needed to go home and kicked us out of the synagogue (his face completely change after we said we didn't have cash). Very sad that people supposed to take care of God's house are like this.
Manases P — Google review
The synagogue itself is absolutely stunning and definitely worth the visit. Unfortunately the experience with the people who are responsible for it was terrible. When we arrived there was no one when the synagogue was supposed to be open. After several calls a guy arrived, not even from the community, just a random janitor who let us in for no more than five minutes, was pointing his watch all the time and didn't even let me wrapping Tefilin in peace. I really hope this beautiful temple was in the hands of better people.

Located in a 19th-century bank building, the Kutaisi State Historical Museum is a cultural heritage site showcasing over 150,000 artifacts and artworks from the Bronze Age to the present day. Unfortunately, during some visits, parts of the museum may be closed for unspecified reasons. The museum aims to represent the rich cultural heritage of Georgia through its extensive collection.
I thought this museum was VERY interesting, and the staff was SO NICE to me, explaining each exhibit and answering all of my questions. The description of the exhibits are in both English and Georgian. There are also QR codes by many exhibits that you can scan with your phone and listen to detailed descriptions of the exhibitions in English or Georgian. I absolutely recommend that you visit this museum to learn about the history of Kutaisi.
Matthew Z — Google review
The museum has some interesting exhibits, but I found it lacking in detailed information. It would have been more enjoyable with more descriptions or explanations about the artifacts. Unfortunately, there was no guide available to provide additional insights, which made it difficult to fully understand the historical significance of the items on display. Overall, it has potential, but I was hoping for a richer experience ( only cash 💸 )

A small local history museum in Kutaisi. Nothing extraordinary, but a decent stop if you’re already in the area and want to spend about 30 minutes indoors. The exhibits are modest, covering some regional artifacts and history. Entrance fee is 6 GEL, which is fair for a short visit. Not really a must-see, but fine if you have spare time.

The first place I visited in Kutaisi as I liked to learn more about their history before exploring the city. Staff were very nice. I figured there might not be much information without a guide, so paying extra for the excursion was well worth it as they assigned a historian and he explained about Kutaisi’s history in depth from the Stone Age era till the Soviet time. It’s also a good way to appreciate the local museums too.

The Museum Bar-Restaurant is conveniently accessible from all parts of Kutaisi, particularly the city center. Its location offers a beautiful setting and the food served is exceptionally flavorful. Visitors are highly encouraged to try the Acharuli Xachapuri, a delightful Georgian national dish. The live music further enhances the overall experience, creating an enjoyable ambiance. Additionally, the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Anyone who visits Kutaisi should make it a point to dine at this remarkable establishment.
Great experience, tasty food and great location. Cats are also roaming the terrace which adds to the experience. They are very polite :) Kebab, sauce tchemali, fries, wine. We were pleased to dine in this place.

Wonderful service, live music, and a relaxing atmosphere with hookah available. The menu includes all the traditional Georgian dishes as well as a variety of European cuisine.

We had an amazing time at Museum Bar & Restaurant in Kutaisi! From the moment we walked in, the service was top-notch. Salome and the entire team were so friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming – they made us feel right at home. We loved the food – everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere had such a great vibe – a perfect mix of cozy and stylish, with a relaxed yet lively feel that made our evening even more enjoyable.

I visited this place about 5 months ago — the food was excellent back then: the meat was juicy, perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, everything at a high level. That’s exactly why I decided to come back. Today I ordered takeaway. At first, I was charged a service fee even though it was a to-go order. When I asked why the total was higher, only after speaking to another staff member did they recalculate and return the difference. Unfortunately, when I got home, I was disappointed: the meat turned out dry and nothing like the delicious one I remembered. It’s a pity, because I came back expecting the same taste and quality as before. I really hope this was just a one-time mistake and that the restaurant returns to its previous standard.

The food was absolutely delicious! Special thanks to Salome for her professional and friendly service, which made us want to return. We highly recommend this restaurant for excellent food and service and plan to visit again soon.

We ordered chicken steak, eggplants in walnuts, kebab, kharcho soup and khinkali. All 5 items were insanely delicious! 😋 We’ve tried khinkali many times all over Georgia and this place was our favorite by far. It was a bit spicy which we really enjoyed. Great service and the young staff members speak fantastic English. Didn’t mind the 15% surcharge because of this fact. Music was also being played and I loved the cool 90’s song selection!

I visited this place with my girlfriend and very quickly regretted that decision. Right from the start, I was told that the only available shisha flavor was fruit, priced at 60 lari. Then I noticed the shockingly high drink prices — and unfortunately, things only got worse from there. We waited over 20 minutes for the shisha, and when it finally arrived, it was absolutely terrible. It had a faint fruity taste, barely produced any smoke, and there wasn’t the slightest hint of tobacco. Meanwhile, no one bothered to ask if we were enjoying it or to check how it was burning — which is especially disappointing considering they automatically add a 15% service charge. We asked for the bill and an explanation. The poorly informed waiter claimed that in Georgia, shisha is always nicotine-free, which is complete nonsense, as we had smoked proper shisha in other places in Georgia. When asked what the 15% charge on the bill was for, he said it was a tax. I strongly recommend avoiding this place — it’s nothing more than a typical Georgian tourist trap.
Bartosz P — Google review
We try shisha all around the world and even have our own at home, but I’ve never been more disappointed. The shisha we got was just terrible. It was never mentioned that their tobacco is nicotine-free, which is quite an important detail. The staff explained that in Georgia shisha usually doesn’t contain nicotine, which is surprising, as we had no such issue when trying shisha in Tbilisi. No one came to check the charcoal or ask about the flavor - something that should be standard, especially when they charge a 15% service fee.. which the staff tried to explain as a “tax.” Additionally, the staff didn’t seem knowledgeable about what they were offering — they constantly had to go back to the manager for more information and then return to our table with the answers. The manager was guiding them the entire time but never came to our table personally to clarify the situation. Overall, I recommend avoiding this place. Even my vape provides a stronger experience than their shisha.

Lilestan ლილესთან is a charming restaurant in Kutaisi that offers a delightful culinary experience, blending the rich flavors of Imeretian and Georgian cuisine with a modern twist. The venue boasts colorful decor and utensils, creating one of the coziest atmospheres in the city. Visitors can expect an aristocratic atmosphere, bohemian and vintage style environment, and attentive staff with genuine smiles.
Very nice and calm atmosphere (classic music 💔) with fancy-restaurant-design, but you’ll forget it all then you make a first bite. The food is juste AWESOME!!! So are the service and clients facilities. If you are not sure what to order, ask the waiters, they will be happy to suggest interesting dishes and wine. I highly recommend the pear dessert, that is mindblowing - i came again to taste this before we left Kutaisi.

The experience at this restaurant was absolutely perfect. The food was outstanding—every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. Mariam and Anna were exceptional, offering warm, professional, and attentive service that made the evening even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was enhanced by tasteful classical and ambient music, creating the perfect setting for a relaxed and memorable lunch experience. Highly recommended!

The best restaurant in town. Delicious Georgian food, authentic and super fresh. Good variety of vegetarian and other food. Very friendly service, attentive to detail and making sure the experience in the restaurant is a perfect one! No wonder did the receiver the prestigious „Table Originale“ award from Gault Millau in 21 and 22! So if you are in town and look for exceptionally good Georgian food this is the place to go.

we went there three times as we loved interior/ atmosphere and the food was amazing. waitresses are also nice, nia is exceptional. unfortunately we have pictures just from our second/ third visit but everything was very delicious. also good choice of wines.

Firstly, we had to wait 50 minutes for our dishes, and the waitress never warned us that it would take so long. Secondly, to find her I had to look all around the restaurant and even go down to the kitchen to ask her to come to the table, even though there were only two other guests besides us. The food itself was tasty, but the soup was served in a large bowl with less than half of it filled. As a result, I didn’t feel full and had to go to another place to eat. I truly hope the restaurant will improve its service and pay more attention to portion sizes.

Delicious food with some really interesting items on the menu — a great mix of Georgian classics and a few creative twists, like salmon khinkali. We ordered khachapuri, ojakhuri, and the eggplant rolls — everything was fresh and full of flavor. The service was excellent, and a special thank you to our waitress Nia for being so attentive and friendly. We’ll definitely be coming back!

We came here for a small lunch, and were very happy with the service. Our servers name was Mari. The food came in good time and was delicious. They did charge an 18% service fee, which feels somewhat excessive, but that's the only negative.
Matthew U — Google review
Cozy atmosphere, yet approaching the border of a "fine dining" experience. Classical music, fine cutlery and well presented, taste-refined dishes. We took two veal dishes (astaragon and pomegranate, both delicious and with a very tender meat) as well as a khachapuri. Everything tasted great, and our waitress for the evenening Nia added her touch to the experience, helping to choose the wine and making sure we didn't lack anything through the dinner. Definitely recommend the place, matter of fact we'll probably be going back tonight and add some pictures to the review! See you soon and thanks again for the nice dinner. (Additionnal good point is that altough slightly more expensive than other restaurants around, prices are very decent for such service and quality) Edit: here pictures from yesterday indeed, Kali (pomegranate sauced veal and cheesy purée, and surprise of the day was the garlic sauce from the chicken, absolument perfect. Add to that thr Pear Dessert and à local artisanal wine, and you have everything you nedd and more to e.joy a great evening)

Georgian restaurant
Kutaisi offers a variety of dining options, including Caffe El Paso and Palaty. Caffe El Paso is known for its Georgian cuisine and has received positive reviews for its food. The restaurant's decor is described as slightly more upscale than a typical cafe. Meanwhile, Palaty has also garnered praise for its offerings, with visitors enjoying the menu and overall dining experience. Both establishments are popular choices for those looking to explore the local culinary scene in Kutaisi.
Went for a late dinner, its a georgian cuisine restaurant so not many options on the menu for the food. Their ajaruli khachapuri was delicious. The pizza is really yummy and also ordered the potato cheese puffs which was also very good.
Heba G — Google review
1 | The restaurant with Georgian cuisine is located on the square near the Colchis Fountain. It's worth a visit for a taste of the local cuisine, but its quality loses out to Western standards. 2 | Adjarian khachapuri priced at 14.60 GEL was good, there was plenty of cheese and it was even in the edges. There was no shortage of egg and butter. The khachapuri satiates on its own. The pork barbecue at 10 GEL was disappointing for me, the meat was tough and not well seasoned. 3 | The prices were higher than what I was expecting at this place. However, it is possible to pay by card. 4 | The menu is available in English, however the staff did not speak English. Staff was diligent and friendly. 5 | The interior of the restaurant is traditional, it may look a bit outdated. There are over ten tables in several height levels for seating. 6 | I would recommend trying the Georgian Natakhtari lemonade with vanilla cream flavor once. The lemonade is terribly sweet and I honestly didn't like it much, but the flavor, popular in the former USSR countries, is at least worth a taste for its uniqueness.

9th day of the month, already been to 4 restaurants include this and this was only bad service. I think tourists choose this bcoz of the location. But this isn’t really recommended locally, I would say, or to say tourists there are lots of better places in Kutaisi!!! The place I went last night was mucccccccch better like x100!!😂 If you wanna have a good memory of visiting Kutaisi, choose other place! Staffs educations, hospitality are none. Food menu is also pretty limited. If Khinkali, go the best Khinkali restaurant of Kutaisi, not this one!!

Gala Restaurant Kutaisi, which opened in spring 2024, pays homage to the renowned poet Galaktion Tabidze. The cozy dining spaces are adorned with sketches of Galaktion and other Symbolist movement figures, along with vintage novels and quotes. Visitors have been thoroughly impressed by the restaurant's aesthetic, decor, and welcoming ambiance. The outstanding service provided by attentive staff ensures a pleasant dining experience. Guests have raved about the delicious traditional Georgian dishes that highlight quality ingredients and culinary skill.
The food was amazing. It was prepared quickly and the quality was very high. They have a good variety of traditional Georgian dishes and the staff was helpful in explaining what the different items were on the menu. David provides excellent service, even at 23:00 at night! He made sure that I felt comfortable and was always smiling (even at that hour!). The food was so good that I went back the next day for some Khinkali, which were juicy and well seasoned with spices. It's also very centrally located so it's great for tourists like myself.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. The décor is tasteful and well thought out, striking a perfect balance between elegance and comfort. You can tell that a lot of care has been put into creating a space where guests can relax and enjoy themselves. A special mention goes to our server, Mari, who was absolutely fantastic. She was friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome without ever being intrusive. She anticipated our needs before we even had to ask and made great recommendations that really enhanced our meal. Overall, this restaurant is a perfect blend of comfort, style, and top-tier service. I’ll definitely be coming back – and I hope to be seated in Mari’s section again!

Gala is truly one of the best dining experiences in Kutaisi. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between elegance and comfort — with stylish decor, warm lighting, and live music that creates an unforgettable mood. The food is absolutely exceptional, offering a wonderful mix of traditional Georgian flavors and refined presentation. Each dish feels carefully prepared, both in taste and in how beautifully it is served. What really makes the visit special, though, is the service. The staff are attentive, welcoming, and professional at every step. In particular, our waiter Avto stood out — he was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever being intrusive. His attention to detail and positive energy made the evening feel even more enjoyable. Overall, Gala is a place I would recommend to anyone visiting Kutaisi. Whether you’re looking for an authentic Georgian dining experience, excellent service, or simply a cozy yet elegant atmosphere, this restaurant has it all. We will definitely be coming back!
Selena B — Google review
Beautiful ambience, but unfortunately the worst dining experience I’ve had in Georgia. Overpriced, slow service, unpleasant flavors — I cannot recommend this place. Aside from the pleasant ambience, there was little to enjoy about this restaurant. Sadly, this turned out to be the most disappointing dining experience I’ve had in Georgia so far, and I honestly find it difficult to understand the high ratings. The pork had a strong, unpleasant odor similar to offal, and despite ordering only three dishes, it took almost one hour and forty-five minutes for them to arrive. The bread portion was also unexpectedly small. On top of that, the 12% service charge felt unjustified. The restaurant would likely benefit from employing more chefs rather than so many waiters. To be fair, the manager—recognizable by a different uniform—was attentive and professional, but overall the service fell short of expectations. Overall, this was an unfortunate experience, and I would not recommend this restaurant.

Everything about this place is amazing, from the interior design, to the delicious food, the live music, and the wonderful atmosphere. Giorgi provided impeccable service – he explained everything we asked about and even advised us on our meal choices, which was spot on! It's rare to meet people with such enthusiasm and passion for what they do – it's largely thanks to Giorgi that we'll remember this place for a long time! I wholeheartedly recommend it!

Gala has been our best dining experience so far during our week’s stay in Georgia. The atmosphere was light and airy and, situated directly across from Kutaisi park, offered a beautiful serene view of the tree tops from the floor to ceiling windows. Our waiter George was so friendly, helpful and attentive and we found every one of the dishes beautifully balanced and just divine! It’s a pity our tour moved on from Kutaisi- if not, we’d definitely be dining there again!

Gala is a beautiful restaurant named after a famous local poet. If you score a window table it overlooks the new lovely park in the square. The food is great, you will need more than one night here to enjoy all of the great dishes. The standout attraction by far is the young waiter Giorgi (George) who is dazzling the visitors with his buoyant personality, knowledge of the dishes, and impeccable English. I could hear many other patrons other than myself being delighted by his conversation and his professionalism. I expect he will do very well for himself in the future. He may ask you to guess his age, I guessed right but my companion was quite wrong. The other waiters who served the food and attended to us were also friendly and professional. This is a great restaurant and I hope I can still get a table after encouraging you all to go there. (I am a tourist here)

Gelati Monastery, located on a picturesque wooded hillside 8km northeast of Kutaisi, is a renowned medieval monastery complex in Georgia. It was once a cultural and academic center during Georgia's medieval 'golden age', with notable scholars and rulers buried on its grounds. The main Cathedral of the Virgin boasts vibrant frescoes, adding to the monastery's allure. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site, Gelati Monastery holds great historical and cultural significance for Georgia.

We visited the place at sunset, it was getting dark and we couldn't stay for long. The place is so sacred with a beautiful view over the town. The big church and the small one are under renovation, there were scaffolding all around the interior walls but the visible murals were breathtaking, so were the icons. The history in the place can be observed through these astonishing art pieces. This place should be on top of the list when you visit Kutaisi.

You can absolutely see why this is a UNESCO world heritage site, one can feel the history emanating from the very stones! Shane it was under renovation when I was there but this must be done to preserve for another 800 years. Do remember this is still a working monastery. I also highly recommend doing the monks paths loop though the beach forest.
Jamie M — Google review
Even though under renovation (August 2025), most of the interior is accessible, except for some ceiling and upper wall paintings. The exterior is partially covered, but the garden remains fully open. Personally, one of the most impressive monasteries in Georgia for the conservation of paintings and history.

Located near the Rioni River in Kutaisi, the Holy Annunciation Temple stands out with its unique architecture and serene atmosphere. Formerly a Catholic Church, it holds historical significance and features a picture of the Virgin Mary. The interior is adorned with angel statues, adding to its beauty. Despite its modest size, the church offers a peaceful environment for visitors to appreciate its cultural and religious importance. This must-see landmark in the city center provides an opportunity to experience traditional Georgian architecture and spirituality.
It was a Catholic Church before as a Catholic myself it’s quite sad to see that the status of the blessed Virgin Mary was hidden behind.

The Holy Annunciation Temple in Kutaisi is a peaceful and beautifully maintained church. Its white walls and golden domes stand out against the city skyline, and the interior is serene, filled with icons and candlelight. We came to Kutaisi information center around 4 p.m. We asked the lady if Gelati monastery is opened as Google said it is temporarily closed. She said it is opened and that it is doable today. So we took Bolt there (11 GEL one way) and there was nobody, gate closed and scaffold on the building. So we spent more than 20 GEL to see the monastery behind the wall with scaffold on it. We also lost precious time as we were in the city just one day. Nevertheless, there is free Wi-Fi and the lady speaks English quite well.

At least the staff can tell you where to buy dog food, especially before going to see the canyons and waterfalls, because on way you will see a lot hungry abandoned dogs. I recommend placing a donation box.

During closed hours at the Tourist Centre, no information is available about the shuttle bus between Kutaisi and Kutaisi Airport. It is not clear from which stop and when it departs. At least post the timetable at the bus stop from which the bus departs. I had to go out by myself, wait for the bus and ask the driver. The bus departs from the square in front of the Tourism Center (where many of the city buses stop, not from the bus stop in front of the Tourism Center entrance!). It leaves hourly, at the beginning of each hour. Payment is by credit card only, cash is not accepted. Price 5 GEL.
Dominykas K — Google review
The lady behind the counter was friendly but she wasn't helpful. She didn't know about the bus schedule of the airport shuttle nor she recommended any sights around the city, she just handed me the leaflet from the counter. Here is the current timetable for Kutaisi airport shuttle. Payment only by card - 5 GEL

The cable car connects two parks and offers stunning views of the city and its surroundings. Nice ride. The only thing is tourists paying 3 GEL, locals 1 GEL... rip off! And this country wants to join EU?
Tomas K — Google review
Worthy just for the view. On the day we went there we waited for almost 30’ for them to open. The surcharge for foreigners is ridiculous.
Joana K — Google review
We walked to the cable car station since it was very close. The cable car ride was super short, just a few seconds, but the view while going up was nice. At the top, there’s a quiet park and an old amusement area with a Ferris wheel. We found a nice spot to sit and relax, and the view over the city and river was great. Even though the ride was short, we still enjoyed the experience. It’s a quick and easy thing to do if you’re already in the city center. Tip: Tickets are bought with cash at the station. Go around sunset for better views.
Abdurrahman — Google review
Staff isn't helpful, and their gaze questioning like why we are even there. Ride is very short. You can ride one way and then walk down.
Ayten B — Google review
Pointless, very short, cable car is filthy and the doors don't lock properly and know one informed us that an employee had to ride in it with us. So then we just had some old, very rude drunk man in with us shouting at us for no apparent reason. The ride is short, nothing much to see and an old park at the top.

1 lari is for Georgian citizens, 3 lari for foreigners!! Cash only, card is not accepted. The ticket lady is not pleasant or helpful at all. Disappointed. Georgia - surely you can do better than that!!

Points of Interest & Landmarks
In Kutaisi, the White Bridge is a must-see attraction that offers a glimpse into local daily life. This French-designed bridge, along with the Red and Chain Bridges, provides stunning views of the Rioni riverbed. The bridge features Georgian inscriptions on the ground and showcases impressive engineering amidst ancient surroundings. A statue of a boy holding a hat pays homage to children who once played in the river below.
If you are in the city, you should walk through this bridge. The river is a natural beauty and you get to see a magnificent natural scenery. The boy statue is also really nice.
Dr. O — Google review
This bridge is a straightforward, no-frills structure with glass panels, but its surroundings make it a pleasant spot to visit. The bridge offers a lovely view of a serene river or fountain, flanked by large white rocks. The area is also home to various cafes and stores, adding to its charm. One of the bridge's claims to fame is that it's a popular spot for wedding photography, with couples often posing for photos on the bridge. While the bridge itself isn't particularly remarkable, its picturesque setting and lively atmosphere make it worth a visit.
Yasmine A — Google review
Interesting bridge which I was told is iconic to the Kutaisi people. There's a sculpture there called the Picasso boy. Not sure if it's done by Picasso himself.
Paul T — Google review
"A historic bridge that turns a simple stroll into a highlight ✨" The White Bridge is one of the landmarks that gives Kutaisi its charm. Stretching across the river, the bridge itself feels like a piece of art, with plenty of details to take in as you walk across. When we visited in August, the river below was mostly dried up, but the view and the experience of crossing the bridge were still impressive. It is quick to see but definitely worth adding to your stroll through the city. The White Bridge is one of those sights that makes Kutaisi’s center more enjoyable to explore. – Genuine Gems Overview – ⭐ Rating: 5/5 💰 Price Paid: Free 💎 A Genuine Gem? Yes!

A pretty wide iron bridge over the river with a couple of insta spots. A few places have a clear floor and you can see the river below. Would have given 5 stars if there was some type of activity (live music or something) on the bridge. It's a pedestrian only bridge so no need to worry about vehicles or traffic
Danish A — Google review
It is an iron bridge which was built on Rioni river. The color is white. It is a pedestrian bridge. You can take picture by view of river. Some parts of the bridge is made of glass, that you can walk on them. It is funny and a little scary. There many cafe and a park around it. It is usually crowded.
OMID S — Google review
Amazing scenery. A must visit. Kill your phone storage with extensive photo shooting👌😁 . I guess this is also a wedding photo shooting hub Luckily it started raining heavily while we were on the bridge and were able to take pictures under the rain with the amazing scenery. I was surprised to see people running away. Another guess is that frequent raining days are not strange to Kutaisi.
Ali A — Google review
It's a very beautiful white bridge in Kutaisi, near to the city square, with amazing view. The river flows through lime stone bed. Thr bridge has see through glasses on the floor and thin metal sheets with see through Gerogian inscription and designs. A touristic spot and a lot of restaurants on the banks of the river.

Thai restaurant
Restaurant
Siam Thai Restaurant is a hidden treasure that offers an array of delightful options. Although limited on time, one can't resist trying their tempting dishes, such as the Tom Yum with shrimps. The shrimps are abundant and plump, complementing the perfect combination of tomatoes and mushrooms in a flavorsome soup. The spice level can be adjusted to personal preference, ensuring satisfaction for all customers. The restaurant staff and chefs treat everyone like family, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
The restaurant offers an authentic Thai dining experience with a variety of dishes including vegetarian, vegan, and spicy options. The freshly prepared food is delicious, the portions are generous, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. This is the closest to authentic Thai food outside of Thailand we’ve experienced in Georgia so far, and we highly recommend it for anyone craving Thai cuisine.
Marina S — Google review
From the starter to the dessert - we tremendously enjoyed Siam Thai Restaurant! We decided to go for what might be the popular choices in a typical Thai restaurant: Spring Rolls (12) as appetizers, Phad Thai with chicken (24) and Tom Yum soup with rice (25) as mains, and sticky rice with coconut ice cream (12) for dessert. For drinks we had the Kayaki beer (7), which was served with a glove to avoid the cold feeling of the glass. The food was so delicious and comforting - every dish was special in its own way, and reminded us both of the tasty Thai food we tried in Thailand. The service was very kind and friendly, with a nice and cozy atmosphere in the place. Do not miss! Enjoy the photos :)

The food is tasty and authentic. The waitress is really nice and kind. We ordered a lemonade and waited us to have a taste then asked us if we need any more ingredients, she will add for us. She speaks English that is friendly to tourists like us.

We were checking out some locations in Kutaisi and around and decided to get lunch in Siam based on Google reviews, and it did not disappoint. Great food, fast service. Yesterday we were served by a guy who was genuinely friendly and that was probably the most remarkable hospitality experience I have had after 1,5 years of living in Georgia. Today we came back for a takeaway and there was a lady behind the counter who was nice, friendly, smiling and helpful. Wonderful overall experience. Definitely recommend and would come back once I am in Kutaisi again.

Loved this place. It was some of the best food we had in Georgia. It was so good - we came two days in a row. Everything was really good, especially pad thai, green curry, garlic shrimp, spring rolls and cashew chicken. Pad kra pao was delicious flavor wise, the meat was a bit chewy.

I love Thailand cuisine and this was one of the most delicious meals that I’ve tried in Georgia so far! Staff was super nice, place was clean, food was amazing!!! Highly recommend and can’t wait to dine in this place again 💖
Mariam N — Google review
I had a delightful dining experience at this charming Thai restaurant! The food was expertly prepared in traditional Thai style, showcasing the chef's skill and attention to detail. The chicken satay was flavorful, but slightly dry and tricky to remove from the stick, earning it 4 out of 5 from me. However, the spring rolls were absolutely delicious! I appreciated that they accommodated my request to hold the eggs. The Thai pad was perfectly balanced, with harmonious flavors that didn't overpower each other. The cozy atmosphere, complete with Thai music and authentic decorations, transported me to Thailand. I was impressed to learn that the chef is indeed from Thailand, adding to the restaurant's authenticity. Overall, I highly recommend this hidden gem for a genuine and delicious Thai culinary experience.

Bar-restaurant Papavero is a popular dining spot in Kutaisi, Georgia, known for its European cuisine and grill dishes. Situated in the prestigious Balakhvani neighborhood along the Rioni riverside, it offers a delightful experience with its flavorful menu. Visitors can enjoy a variety of dishes while taking in the charming surroundings. Whether you're looking for an up-market hotel or a cozy guesthouse, this area has something to offer every traveler.
Don't skip this! Walked around city center to get an overview and shortlisted this location due to many locals and lovable atmosphere. Kebab was outstanding, Pizzas were really big and Wine and local lemonade (tarragon) surprised positively. Stop by and have a great time as we did for dinner! Very cozy, laid back and the garden/terrace feels like a hidden gem in Kutaisi :-) Will come back!

This is a very nice restaurant in a quite central location in Kutaisi. They have a wide selection of local but also international food. Everything we ordered was delicious and nicely presented. We came for dinner when they had some lights on and also live music. The waiters are very friendly and attentive. The only thing is its a bit expensive, but its definitely worth it

It’s an absolutely beautiful restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere. The food was delicious, and the live music added a great touch, though it was a bit loud from where we were sitting. Overall, a fantastic experience, and I’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting Kutaisi.

The restaurant is nicely decorated, and the food is tasty. However, the service is very slow, and it’s difficult to get the staff’s attention — at times it felt like we were being deliberately ignored. Do not order desserts here! We ordered the Belgian waffle — big mistake. Not only did we wait a long time, but the waffle was completely dry, and even the ice cream on top couldn’t save it.

Papavero is the first restaurant we came to have lunch to when we visited Kutaisi in 2019. It's been open for a some time and got only better. Central location, Europan fusion cuisine, green decor, kids menu and in my opinion best salads and coffee in Kutaisi. Restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. Stuff are young students who speak good English. Open 7 days a week. I personally love this place for lunch. Highly recommend.

Maisis Ezo, a fresh addition to the Kutaisi dining scene, opened its doors in the summer of 2024. Nestled within walking distance from the city center, this charming restaurant offers a warm and inviting atmosphere reminiscent of its century-old architecture. The team has dedicated themselves to enhancing both their menu and service quality, ensuring that every guest feels welcomed.
This is one of my favorite places in Georgia! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and both the food and service are consistently excellent. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and professional! I've visited several times, and each experience has been great. What really stands out is the unique interior of the old villa—it feels like stepping into another time. The beautiful garden adds even more charm to the setting. If you're in Kutaisi, I highly recommend stopping by. It's a perfect spot to relax and enjoy delicious Georgian cuisine and wine in a cozy and stylish environment with top-quality service.

Of the dozen plus restaurants I’ve eaten at in Kutaisi, this one stands out. I ate here twice, once outside in the spacious and tranquil outdoor area, once inside, which was equally pleasant. The food is great, well executed and presented interpretations of classic Georgian dishes. The service is outstanding, as a solo diner I was welcomed warmly, taken care of from start to finish. Don’t hesitate, this place is very much worth a visit.

Outstanding service! Thanks to General manager and sommelier Akaki 🙏🏻 Beautiful 100 years old restored house in the center of Kutaisi. Romantic garden, terrace and indoor sitting. Great for two people and for large groups. We had barbeque, phali and grilled vegetables. Everything was delicious. Will be definitely coming back 😄

Our culinary journey through Georgia kicked off at Maisis Ezo and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better start. In a beautiful garden setting, we enjoyed what were probably the tastiest pkhali of our entire trip. But what truly made the visit special was Akaki: with his great service and warm hospitality, he gave the evening that extra touch.

Best service ever! The manager is taking care of you from the moment you enter. The menu is delicious, whatever you order you will love it. Amazing interior of an old house and a beautiful stylish garden. You can sit for hours drinking wine, listening to old Georgian songs and enjoying the moment.

That was our first day in Kutaisi, and we were starving! We found this restaurant by chance and ended up having such a wonderful time there. It was our first real experience with proper Georgian cuisine — the egg with walnuts quickly became our favorite dish. We also had an incredibly delicious Khachapuri. Akaki, was so sweet and kept recommending unique local dishes for us to try. The wine we had there was amazing — we loved it so much that we bought the same bottle to take back home to Turkey. Even on our last night in Kutaisi, we decided to come back and have our final dinner at this restaurant.

The service, atmosphere here was wonderful experience. Thank you a lot for everything, we will definitely come back next time in Kutaisi! ❤️

I stayed in Kutaisi for a fortnight and visited Destino regularly, sometimes multiple times a day. This indicates my strong satisfaction with the establishment. I particularly enjoyed the beverages, cuisine, ambiance, and most importantly, the staff. It's heartening to witness the close-knit dynamics of this family-owned bar/restaurant as they work together harmoniously while having a delightful time. The menu primarily consists of Georgian dishes paired with local drinks.
So glad I happened upon Destino! The staff was so patient and helpful as I asked all the vegetarian questions. The bean pot and fresh pomegranate juice were delicious! Everything tasted so fresh, I ordered the mushroom khinkali for take away. Perfection. Friendly service, excellent food, very affordable prices, and the chef (sweetest mama ever!!) make Destino a great choice for casual dining in Kutaisi. Highly recommended!
