Zoo
Outdoor Activities
The Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens, established in 1923, is a sprawling 116-acre sanctuary and arboretum located just north of Orlando. It houses over 500 animals from 205 different species and boasts a diverse collection of flora. Visitors can explore various natural habitats and exhibits showcasing the animals' environments.
We went several months ago on our trip, I was going through the photos in my phone, realized that the experience we had here was amazing. The place was clean and soooo many different beautiful things to see. The night view was absolutely astonishing. If we get a chance to go back we would definitely consider going.

My wife and I stopped here in the late morning of Thursday, August 14, 2025 while on a camping trip and moving between Apopka and Port Canaveral. I was in my Dodge RAM 1500 pickup and towing my 20 travel trailer, but there was hardly anyone at the zoo yet and there was plenty of grass lot parking to fit both my truck and trailer without having to temporarily unhitch it. On the walk in to the ticket booth from the parking lot, we noted that they have this very cool little "kiddie train" and a mini-train station right at the entrance. There is also an extensive array of zip lines and launch/landing platforms around the park's entrance area for adults and older kids to enjoy but we didn't see any staff on duty on this weekday visit, so it may only be operated on the weekends. The ticket booth staff was friendly, and they gave me a Veteran discount that saved me about $10.00 on my entrance ticket. See my attached receipt on what entrance cost. Once inside the park, we noted that there is a splash pads for younger kids to enjoy, and it was operating with several kids enjoying the shooting water jets and cooling off. We then proceeded to walk and tour the zoo through a nice circular pathway route and series of board walks. It is very well laid out and they have a fairly extensive array of animals from tropical and temperate zone habitats, particularly for a medium sized zoo. It's also very kid friendly and there are several places to get cold drinks and snack foods around the interior of the park. After we were finished the tour and exited the gate we walked inside this conference hall to enjoy some air condition, and saw a picture of Jungle Jack Hannah, who got his start here as a Zookeeper way back in the early 1970s when the place first opened. We've always been fans of his show, this was a nice finish for us. Overall, this is a very nice zoo, and I would not hesitate to recommend it for kids of all ages (and old-aged big kids like my wife and I). It's easily accessible from Orlando or Daytona with lots of nice expressways close by.

This is an amazing facility with very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Feeding g the giraffe was the highlight of my Son's entire trip. There are a lot of animals to see and learn about, many of which are very engaging! Would definitely recommend as a family adventure :).
Courtney L — Google review
This place is just beautiful!!!! The Sanford Zoo is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you can feel the care and passion that goes into every detail. The animals are healthy, active, and clearly well cared for, with habitats that are both beautiful and educational. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to answer questions, making the visit even more engaging. I love how interactive the experience is—there’s something for all ages, from the lush botanical areas to the fun animal encounters. It’s the perfect mix of adventure, learning, and relaxation. A must-visit for locals and visitors alike!
Kuma — Google review
Well kept small zoo. We took the train ride expecting to see the zoo, but what we basically saw was the woods around the parking lot & cut cardboard cutouts of animals placed near the tracks. We enjoyed the morning. Mid September weather, not so hot.
Meg D — Google review
Not crowded. Nicely laid out and comfortable walking with many benches to sit. Water fountains very sparse, nice cold water dispenser in Bear enclosure info building. Giraffe exhibit a fave, and there's a little butterfly sanctuary at the entrance to Giraffe enclosure that had a nice bench to watch the butterflies fluttering by. One star off because many of the animals were clearly unhappy, even though well tended and cared for. Pretty normal for zoos.
Cary S — Google review
Had a great time while we came in to visit. Small zoo but has a lot of character for what it is. Staff is very welcoming and friendly. Exhibits were perfect for viewing and animals were very active.
ROY T — Google review
Spent some time touring the grounds and visiting the animals. Great smaller zoo with a great selection of endangered animals! Everyone was incredibly nice and helpful. Good grounds and nice landscaping! Make sure you get a ticket for the train ride, it was so much fun!

Seminole Towne Center

Shopping mall
Seminole Towne Center is an indoor mall located in the Sanford area, featuring big-name department stores, clothing and gift shops, a carousel, and a food court. While some visitors have noted that several stores are closed down, others appreciate it as a cool place to walk during the summer months. The lower level of the market offers unique items like glowing liquor bottles and personalized smoking accessories.
Market Place lower level Fri-Sun I design liquer bottles that glow in the dark for that perfect gift. I design bongs, Hookahs, and trays for smokers. Everything can be personalized. I have hand made tables with Penny tops. Stop in and see my collection.

I've lived in Seminole County for 20 years, and I rarely visit the mall, which is a few miles from me. Was close by today, so I decided to stretch my legs and walk inside via the food court. Saw the bookstore, which is straight through and wandered around, seeing lots of lovely books and other knickknacks, but I was hungry, so I did not linger. Walked to food court and was going to order from Zen but then wound up wandering away and out of the mall. I know malls are a dying thing, I was there at 330p on a Friday, so hopefully, during the weekend, more folks keep the businesses there going.
P R — Google review
Mall is still decent. Took some entry videos. Downside to the mall is they need to get their escalators working properly there is no reason why you should be trapped downstairs once you go down from the second floor. I don't know how anybody that's handicap can get around in there I'll take photos and video next time I'm there of the escalator I'm sure it will be off again this is the third time I've been there and the third time they've been shut down.
John Y — Google review
Seminole Towne Center is a solid shopping destination with a good mix of stores, services, and food options. The mall is spacious and generally clean, and it’s easy to navigate with plenty of parking available. There’s a nice variety of retailers, from big-name brands to smaller specialty shops, and it’s a convenient place to run errands, browse, or spend a casual afternoon. Some areas of the mall could use a bit of updating or added energy, but overall it’s a pleasant place to shop. With a little more activity and a few modern touches, it could easily be a 5-star spot. Still, a reliable and enjoyable mall experience in the area!
Tim B — Google review
Walked into the sporting store thinking you could get to the mall from there but could not. Came out to try the mall but there were no trespassing signs in the door and the whole place looks like it's been abandoned. Turned around and went elsewhere
Kayla B — Google review
What a shame. This used to be a bustling mall, now it's just a bunch of empty storefronts and most of the stores that are still there were closed at 11 on a Saturday morning. At least the AC was working, so it's actually a nice quiet place to get some exercise walking with the heat indices outside in the 100's lately. Also the nice ladies at the Asian place were still giving free samples of orange chicken!
Joseph Y — Google review
It's where Sears use to be. It's called elevate. It's a really nice 2 story arcade place. All types of VR games and laser tag and bowling and all that. Weather you go with your kids or you and your friends. Just have fun because there's alot to do there.but remember it's an arcade and this place is the loudest one I've ever been to
Robert B — Google review
Huge mall. Lots of selections to shop and choose from. One of the nicest malls I've been to in the area. The view is spectacular and there's a huge selection of food available in the food court. Got my tshirts done at the tshirt store there.

Elev8 Fun Orlando

Amusement center
Indoor playground
Miniature golf course
Elev8 Fun Sanford, located at the Seminole Towne Center, is a two-story amusement center offering a wide range of activities for visitors of all ages. With its spacious layout and diverse entertainment options, including electric go karts, bowling alley, rope course, rock climbing, virtual reality, pool tables, arcade games, putt-putt golf, and laser tag, Elev8 Fun provides an ideal setting for birthday parties or family fun days.
Interesting to see getting there about 30mins after they opened and no wait - doing the Pro cart racing they give you a time - it is downstairs with the axe throwing & laser tag + pool tables. Definitely a place to come and enjoy with the entire family. They provide a veteran discount as well. The axe throwing for 1 hour seemed like 3hrs and a lot of fun + the Pro carts faster than expected and so much fun.

9/1/25: I intentionally came here so my little man can have some fun climbing the climbing walls. My family had a lot of fun playing together at Hapik in Garland, Texas. I searched in Florida for a similar place and Elev8 Fun is the closest with similar themed climbing walls like Hapik. Unfortunately, this place is not short or little kid friendly, but only big kid friendly when it comes to climbing activities. The climbing are was also closed too. It's just there for looks. My family played bowling. I wanted to set the bumper for my son but no one was able to help us do that after attempting to ask for help at the front desk twice. Terrible customer service. The place is lively and clean, just not little-kid friendly.
Snow L — Google review
I love this place, but I was really disappointed during my last visit. We showed up on a Saturday expecting it to be open until 12, as listed online. However, we were told they were closing at 11 due to “not a lot of traffic”—even though there were quite a few people still there. I mentioned that this change wasn’t advertised online, and they told me it was up to the manager’s discretion. It was frustrating and felt unfair, especially when we made plans based on the posted hours.

Fun place ‼️ kid and family oriented‼️ indoor play place ‼️ race bumper cars, rock climbing, arcade ‼️and blowing ‼️food service here was great also ‼️

Super disappointed in service, value and operation. Celebrated our son’s birthday party with 10 boys. We were left waiting in a “party room” similar to a DMV room with no entertainment and nothing to do for over 45 minutes of a 2-hour party package. Extremely disappointing. Under-staffed, over-priced and poorly operated. Highly do NOT recommend Elev8 for any parties.
Eric N — Google review
We’ve had our problems with getting there and being able to race. We finally were able to get some racing in which was awesome. Unfortunately, there was an accident while my son was on track doing his final race.a female passenger did not have her hair tied up appropriately which cause the race to completely stop. Kane handled this situation so professionally and treated the female passenger respectfully and was very helpful to her. ELEV8 you are blessed to have Kane working with you.

Great time. We came from out of town. Food was freshly made and very good! We had burgers and pizza and both were really good. We gave it 4 stars because of price to have fun...like everything else it's pricey now. Also the sign in process is lengthy & kinda complicated if you're just doing it once to have fun for a couple of hours.

Department store
Kohl's is a beloved chain department store that offers an extensive range of clothing, accessories, and homewares. With locations like the two-story Sanford store, shoppers can enjoy a spacious layout while exploring various deals and discounts. This particular location features convenient services such as an Amazon return desk on the upper level, where customers are rewarded with coupons for their returns—an excellent incentive to keep shopping!
The lady named Camille, I think her name is, was so friendly and helpful when using my kohls credit card and explaining how many rewards I’ve built! I didn’t know I could use. Sweet lady, clean store! Lately, great friendly customer service!!
Courtney F — Google review
This is a nice 2 story Kohls. They always have some sort of sale and/or coupons so don't ever get something at full price, it will have a sale. This is also an Amazon return location. You get a coupon if you return something from Amazon.
David A — Google review
Walked out and left my entire purchase. We were waiting for a manager to do an override on a wrongly priced item. We were asked to step aside so they could cash out many other customers. Was told she would be right over then was told she’s dealing with UPS and to keep waiting. Mean while I have 2 kids I’m trying to keep calm. No thanks.
Tiffany B — Google review
Truly was the cashier from Ohio. She was very pleasant, answers questions and completed the transaction with no problems.
Michael W — Google review
Kohl's is one of my favorite places to shop. Usually I go to Oviedo, but the last couple visits I went to the Sanford location, which is a 2-story building. I was returning an Amazon package and the Amazon return desk was upstairs to the left rear of the store. This is a nice service that they've added presumably to get more shoppers in the store. Upon returning an Amazon package they reward you with a coupon for a discount that you can use right then. Customer Service is also upstairs in the rear of the store. The restrooms were very clean and stocked with TP, paper towels and soap. The store seemed to be well-stocked and ready for back-to-school shopping. Kohl's has great sales and a Rewards program. Their mobile app is one of the best regarding ease of use and locating a specific product, keeping track of rewards, etc.

Pizza restaurant
Chianti's Pizza & Pasta is a warm and contemporary Italian eatery located at 685 Towne Center Blvd in Sanford. The restaurant offers a wide selection of classic Italian dishes, including pastas, meat entrees, and pizzas. Named after the popular Tuscan table wine, Chianti's provides a family-oriented atmosphere for guests to enjoy their meals. The menu features delectable options such as lobster ravioli and basil margherita pizza.
First, they brought us a plate of garlic knots with the freshest garlic. We ordered the Calamari Arrabiata for our appetizer; the calamari was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the spicy pomodoro dipping sauce was out of this world. I even ventured to dip my garlic knots in it. Yum! I ordered the Chicken Alfredo for my main dish. The chicken was tender, the sauce thick and creamy. Our waiter was delightful, as was the atmosphere. Oh, and their sangria was top notch—subtly sweet with currents of cinnamon. Altogether, great experience! Would dine here again in a heartbeat.

I recently ordered catering for an event. If you are thinking about using them for catering, here’s your sign. From the initial consultation, the patience with me with last minute changes to the order, the delivery and setup - everything was done with perfect execution. The food was so good that my guests and I were happy to serve ourselves seconds.

Great authentic homemade food!! Oooh sooo good!! ❤❤😋😋 I got the stuffed shells, BEST I've ever had. Also the balsamic dressing they make is incredible, I used it on the Greek side salad instead of what it comes with.... Yuuummm!! Cozy little place, where you feel like family & you just stopped in to say Hi, & ended up with a plate of homemade Love. Greek side salad & chicken Alfredo shown (also fantastic) I forgot to take pic of stuffed shells. 😄

I honestly never leave reviews but I had to save anyone else about to spend the money. We got take out, I got the chicken Alfredo which was 24 dollars, and it was seriously the worst. The pasta wasn’t fully cooked, it was still kind of hard and the chicken looked super processed. My boyfriend got the lasagna and said it was super bland (20 dollars) and the garlic knots were super hard not soft at all I feel like they were left out for a while? We just moved to Sanford and have been wanting to try it but since it’s so expensive we picked a good time to splurge. No way this is authentic. Don’t spend the money.

Our waiter was David. We were visiting the area by way of flying out of Sanford. We were recommended Chianti's at our hotel Best Western Plus because we wanted Italian Cuisine. Walked in and the atmosphere was quaint and a flair of romance. The energy emitting from the room was like a nice family atmosphere yet a place one could be romantic at the same time. Food was authentic, delicious and served freshly made and prepared. Our compliments went to the Chef.

Mexican restaurant
Chipotle Mexican Grill is a fast-food chain that specializes in Mexican cuisine. They offer a variety of options such as customizable burritos, tacos, and bowls. It is renowned for its high-quality food and is considered one of the top restaurants for Mexican fare. Ordering online is recommended to avoid long lines during peak hours, which are efficiently managed by their attentive staff. The only aspect that could be improved upon is their beverage selection.
This Chipotle location is the best! I will even drive to this one as opposed to the 17-92 location that is closer to my house because the food, service, and portions for what you pay are all great here. This location is the best of the Sanford/Lake Mary locations, in my opinion, for these reasons. The food is always fresh, the portions make you feel like you're actually getting what you paid for (unlike other restaurants or Chipotle locations as well), and all of the employees are very friendly. I can't say enough great things about this location and it's employees!
Mike H — Google review
I visited Chipotle at 11 am to try their new Chipotle Honey Chicken. Honestly, I wish it had a spicier kick, as it was quite sweet. Nevertheless, I still maintain that their steak is the best. I placed a pickup order, and my food arrived promptly when I arrived at the restaurant. The service was exceptional. Unfortunately, halfway through my bowl, I discovered a long hair in it. While this is an unfortunate occurrence, I wasn’t overly upset. The staff promptly replaced my bowl without charge.
Isaiah B — Google review
Ordered food, people were amazing. The portions were really good. I go to pay and my bill is way more than it should be so I asked why. This girl in the picture tried charging me double meat on our 4 kids meals because we asked for the meat on the side of the quesadillas instead of in them. I asked the manager because I don't want to pay for food I didn't get. The girl laughed at us, laughed because we didn't want to pay for food we again, didn't get. The manager seemed unbothered by her attitude but he did take the extra charges off our bill. This manager should do better with his people and she should be written up for the way she treats people. Do better Chipotle.
S.Leigh W — Google review
I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the service I received during my recent visit to your Chipotle location. I have been a regular customer and have never experienced any issues in the past, but today’s encounter was exceptionally unprofessional and unacceptable. During my visit, one of your employees—an African-American male with dreads, wearing a hat and glasses—handled my order in a rushed and careless manner. He interrupted the normal flow of service, hastily took over the line, and repeatedly rushed me through my order without allowing me to clarify the specific items I wanted, including details for my partner’s meal. In addition to his dismissive attitude, the employee served me the leftover scraps from the steak pan, provided an unreasonably small portion, and displayed a clear lack of courtesy. His behavior was rude and dismissive from start to finish. What makes this even more concerning is that there was no line or crowd to justify the rush—there was simply no reason for such hurried and discourteous service. This level of conduct is entirely unbecoming of a Chipotle employee. It reflects poorly on both the individual and the management team overseeing operations. I strongly recommend that this employee either receive immediate retraining in customer service or be evaluated for termination, as his behavior directly contradicts the professional standards expected at your establishment. I will not be returning to this location as a result of this experience. I hope management takes this matter seriously and ensures that the quality of service is restored to the level customers rightfully expect from Chipotle.

Good food, however, portions have gone down significantly. Bowles used to be full.

I went here and I was helped by a girl who had red hair and was short with a lot of attitude. I asked to receive beans on my burrito and she scraped out what was left from an empty container. Like I received 10 to 15 beans. I asked for more and she told me I had some and passed my food along. I was treated rudely and not given the food I asked and paid for. Very disappointed. Go to a different chipotle that will treat you better. Or in fact, just don’t go to chipotle. Very frustrating and wish I could get my money back.

Sobik's Subs, a long-standing establishment known for its cheesesteaks, Cuban sandwiches, and deli subs since 1969, is also renowned for its salads and spaghetti options. This beloved spot has recently undergone a remodel, giving it a fresh appearance. Patrons rave about the unique steamer used to warm up their cheese steak sandwiches. After an extended absence, one customer was delighted to find that Sobik's Subs still maintained its exceptional quality.

Decided to try this place out today because we were starving. The sandwiches we ordered had zero flavor. We ordered the steak sub with fries, and the chicken club sub. To be completely honest, I don’t even know if my dog would have enjoyed it. Save your money and go to a better sandwich shop.

I stopped in because I had a coupon for a free 8 inch sub. (Coupons are in the Sanford Herald) I ordered the eggplant parmesan and the anti pasta salad. Great choices. The boss should know that the 2 guys behind the counter were super friendly. I will be back. 🙂

Love this place! I used to come here all the time when I worked by here. Still just as good. Looks brand new as they remodeled it. I always got the cheese steak, love the little steamer thing they warm it up in. I got in again since it has been so long. I missed it. My daughter got a Turkey sub and it looked really good. They also have potatoe saled, and all kinds of things. Check it out, you can't go wrong.

I don’t normally take the time to write reviews, but I took my three kids to this place and sorry to say the experience turned me into an instant unbeliever. Zombie employees, $15 for a salad I could fit in the palm of my hand, and $66 later (no drinks purchased)…I could think of at least 66 places I’d rather eat. Sadly, it’s a losing battle for Sobik’s.

Pretty good food spot when you're on a budget. I thought the meatball sub was very basic, and I wasn't given any options to add, say some pepperoni or roasted red pepper's.

Day 2

North side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the north side side of town. Start the day off with Orlando Sanford International Airport, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Black Bear Wilderness Area. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Orlando Sanford International Airport

International airport
Airport
Orlando Sanford International Airport, situated just five miles south of downtown, was once a Navy air base before it closed in 1969. Despite its small size and limited services, the airport offers stress-free experiences with friendly staff and efficient security. The long-term parking is straightforward and hassle-free, allowing travelers to park easily and return to their cars without any issues. While there are few food options available, the airport provides ample parking with no traffic concerns.
Orlando Sanford International Airport is a hidden gem for travelers heading to Central Florida. Located about an hour’s drive (roughly 43 miles) from Walt Disney World, it’s a smooth, scenic trip that’s well worth it for the stress-free experience this airport offers. Unlike the busy Orlando International Airport, SFB is smaller, quieter, and incredibly easy to navigate. What really makes SFB stand out is how quick and simple everything is—from check-in to security to boarding. The lines are short, the staff is friendly, and you’re not overwhelmed by crowds. For families with kids or anyone who values convenience, this airport is a game-changer. SFB is a major hub for Allegiant Air, which offers incredibly affordable nonstop flights to many smaller U.S. cities. It’s not unusual to find round-trip fares under $100, making this a great option for budget-conscious travelers. There’s also a touch of history here—once a Naval Air Station, the airport honors its past with a small but meaningful military memorial inside by ticket counters in Terminal B. All in all, Sanford Airport is clean, efficient, and surprisingly relaxed. If you’re flying into Florida for a theme park vacation or just visiting family, this is a fantastic alternative to the chaos of bigger airports.

We spent a lot of time here involuntarily. The airport is lovely. It's small, easy to navigate, the staff are nice, and it is not a crowded place. What stopped us from leaving was poor maintenance. They could not start our Allegiant plane - the planes APU must have been INOP. So they brought in a huffer cart to start it. We were all boarded and waiting for a start. It turns out, that cart was broken, so they brought in another one. That one was also broken. So they brought in a third - and that was broken as well. This was in the middle of the night. They called maintenance, but in the meantime, the crew of our plane ran over their hours and had to leave. So we had to deplane and leave the airport What an adventure.

Eh. Fine as fair as airports go. My primary beef was that they have near to no chain restaurants. AND I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE THINKING: "Ugh, Reagan, who comes to complain about there being no chain restaurants in an airport." ME! ME! When the alternatives are being stuck here with only the crappiest, smallest, poor attempts at dining. It's a small beef, but one I feel like could easily be solved with some expected and decent food. The food options are very much "hospital food" options, and that's my being pretty optimistic about it. Because they're a small airport, I felt like there were plenty of seating options, it was pretty clean, and TSA was a quick and easy experience. However, I'll never miss a chance to gripe about people who choose to put random, weird restaurants in a place where people are forced to be. UGH. Now it makes sense why the food is bad. They know it is bad. They need a captive audience to make sales. Sigh.
Reagan E — Google review
This airport is small with not very much traffic so it is unlikely for your flight to be delayed. Plus there isn’t that many people around in the gate areas so it doesn’t feel crowded, but one thing I do not like is the lack of food options and how it says it’s Orlando Sanford airport when it isn’t very close to Orlando. Otherwise if you’re looking for an airport in the Orlando area that isn’t busy and you like allegiant this is the airport for you!
Benjamin W — Google review
This airport honestly exceeding my expectations. It was really hassle free. They had great food options, like ZAZA as well as healthier food options like Natures Table. The airport was clean. The best part was the kids area that had cushioned flooring as well as animal statues that were cushioned for kids to climb - and near the kids area they have chairs for parents and chargers. Great experience that makes me want to utilize the airport more in the future
Elisa P — Google review
I feel like this airport could be better at navigating the airport. Return the rental car was a bit confusing. It was our first time at this airport. I know its a smaller airport so maybe thats why. But I feel like a good airport is very clear on the directions of everything. Even finding our gate. We were gate 5-9. And there signs just stopped. We were confused and had to shop and ask a worker. The stores are nice and updated. Workers were all nice. Airport was clean! So that is the good part. Would recommend this airport than MCO. The security wait was maybe 15 mins. The worker we had for security was so friendly and funny. For 0400 flight it was nice seeing some positive energy!

Fort Mellon Park in Sanford is a picturesque lakefront park that offers a range of amenities for visitors. It features fitness trails, public restrooms, BBQ grills, a playground suitable for kids of all ages, and tennis courts. The park also includes a splash pad to cool off on hot summer days and basketball courts for sports enthusiasts. Additionally, it provides access to the scenic Sanford Riverwalk with ample seating options along the walkway.
Great place for kids. $2 to get into splash pad (not bad at all). Plenty of room for playing, playground is big. A big plus>> they have bathrooms!! Nice view of the lake as well, sidewalks to take a nice walk. There were two shaved ice carts here today and an ice cream truck. Definitely coming here again. Clean as well one slide was out of order but they safely blocked it off so no kids could use it (the welded a metal plate at the top of slide and at bottom)

No shade. Yes I understand it's hard to make trees grow fast to make shade but wow was the playground hot. My kid struggled to play on all the hot equipment The splash pad was the opposite... Very cool and actual cool :) all in all a beautiful park and lots of space for fun and parties. Just maybe go on a an over cast day or early in the morning?

Really nice park with beautiful views of the lake 🌅. The playground is spacious, clean, and perfect for kids to enjoy safely. Plenty of open space for walking, relaxing, or having a picnic. Great spot for families, exercise, or just unwinding by the water; definitely one of the gems in the area!

We stopped by here for a respite before driving home from Florida. It was close to the Sanford Auto train that family was taking. The kids liked looking at the black water and 2 manatees were swimming. The splash pad was a nice place to cool your feet. The playground was large with a variety of things to do. There were benches to sit in shade or sun. Very nice atmosphere.

Soft padding for playground area. Play area for both big kids and small. Nice little area with fountains for the kids to get wet on a hot day. Looks like it could be good fishing. Nice bench swings to catch the sunrise. There was even a museum we didn't get to look at. There seems to be something for everyone in the family here. It's clean and I didn't have to worry about my kids finding drugs on the playground or being offered any on our way into it. I was there midday on a Thursday, who knows what the weekends and evenings bring though.

Very nice park adjacent to a beautiful river view with plenty of parking on both sides of the park. The landscapingb is beautiful, including a duck filled pond, an open field for sports, party areas with large picnic tables, a grill and even an electric outlet, a children's playground with rubber matting, 2 solar panel recharging stations, multiple basketball courts, a children's water fountain park and even a free Sanford Museum nearby.

Great playground with splash pad. Pad opens at 10 am today. Bring bug spray. LOTS of mosquitoes. We got here at 9am and had to leave due to not having bug spray. It was pretty bad but it is summer time

Nestled in the heart of Historic Downtown Sanford, Celery City Craft Beer Garden is a vibrant destination for craft beer enthusiasts and food lovers alike. This lively bar boasts an impressive selection of over 40 taps, all adorned with playful celery stalk designs. The spacious outdoor patio invites guests to relax under the trees while enjoying delicious pub fare from their menu, which includes tasty offerings from the popular Sushi & Seoul food stand.
My review is for the cigar bar side. Best cigar bar in Florida. Reason 1... it is NOT smoky inside at all. The ventilation system is amazing. #2. The drinks are FIRE! #3. Bartenders are customer oriented, giving top-notch suggestions and service. #4. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing. Great place for a fancy cocktail and music.

We visited Celery City on a Monday when most every other establishment in Sanford is closed. We were a party of 4 and we all enjoyed the experience at Celery City. There is no table service, as you order and collect your drinks at the bar, and the food is ordered outside in the Beer Garden. It was a cool and rainy day when we were there, so nobody was seated outside.

Stopped in for a few beers and cocktails after eating elsewhere. HUGE outdoor seating area. Great live music. We saw a young buffing star sing her heart out. The indoor area is big, but much smaller. It's in a restaurant and bar zone. Very comfortable to sit and relax.

Had the sushi today, I order the chicken bowl and Poke bowl, my chicken was too salty and the Poke bowl was ok, had way better than this. Price was way too pricey, not worth $38. It wasn't a wow for me.

I love this place. My husband and I go there often to have a few beers and relax. The service is great, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the place is spacious. I would come back many more times. They have delicious sushi during the day.

Huge list of beers to pick from. Amazing, kind & friendly service. The seating mostly is outdoor which goes well with a great beer. The food is separate to be ordered which has limited choice to pick from, but whatever you do get there is delicious. Great place for good food and delicious beer downtown sanford, near the river walk.

I didn't have food but the folks with me enjoyed it. Many beers to choose from. Nice outdoor area. Cool vibe! I will return!

This place is really awesome. I’ve been coming for the last 3 years and I’m never disappointed. If you are a craft beer drinker, there will for sure have a beer for you, lots of options. The outside area is very zen. Lots of picnic tables, large trees, and umbrellas for shade. There is usually music playing in the background for a chill vibe. If you like beer variety and a relaxed place to drink outdoors (they have a small indoor seating area as well), Celery City does not disappoint!

Nestled in the heart of Downtown Sanford, the Colonial Room Restaurant is a charming eatery that exudes a warm, nostalgic vibe reminiscent of classic American diners. This inviting spot serves up hearty Southern fare for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, making it an ideal choice for family gatherings or casual meals. The outdoor seating on Saturday mornings offers delightful people-watching opportunities under the shade of magnificent live oak trees that grace this historic district.
This is your quintessential American diner with scrumptious food, excellent service and a relaxed atmosphere at very fair prices. I were just looking for a quick bite to eat on a Saturday morning and ordered the standard scrambled eggs with biscuit and home fries, french toast and coffee. Everything was fresh, perfectly cooked and delicious. The french toast was warm, fluffy and we just devoured it. Even if you're just looking for a cup of coffee I highly recommend this place - it was great. The service was exceptional as well. Even though it was busy, we were seated right away and attended to in a very friendly and timely manner. It took about 5 minutes from the time we sat to the time our food was served.

Downtown Sanford has some great spots for a classic American breakfast, and this one really stood out. The menu offered plenty of options, and everything we tried was delicious. The staff provided excellent service, always attentive and friendly, we especially appreciated how they kept our coffee cups full without even asking. It’s the kind of welcoming, homey atmosphere that makes you want to come back again and again. Definitely recommended if you’re looking for a solid breakfast experience in Sanford.

The atmosphere was pretty in downtown historic Sanford . The food was any average dinner food, the waitress started off pretty nice but me & my mother in law misunderstood what she was telling us & I believe it made her upset because my mother in law ordered scrambled eggs & it had a huge eggshell in her eggs. I’m a server I’ve been in restaurant industry for over 8 years front & back of the house. As well as went to college for culinary arts . So I truly understand & do not recommend this place . The rudeness my mother in law encountered was ridiculous for someone that’s so kind .

My breakfast order was the 5 egg. Omelet meat lovers, ham sausage, bacon and cheese. The omelet was fully loaded. I also got hash Browns whole wheat toast with Aside order of. Sausage gravy For my hash Brown's. Along with an orange juice. I think we're 12 oz. A very, very good Breakfast overall? And well worth the price For the food, the orange juice, however, was very expensive for what you've got. With a 20% tip and the price of the breakfast expect to spend about 30 bucks. Again, the food was exceptional.

Was in town visiting family and dropped by after getting picked up at the airport. Service was good as the wait staff were friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was great and the establishment was very clean. There were plenty of seating inside and even outdoor patio options available during our visit. The food was a bit generic basic diner food that left something to be desired. Our food and sides were not as cheap as others in the area and even though we paid more the quality wasn’t present. Our omelets had American single slices of cheese and the potatoes had seen better days (dry and unseasoned.) Pancakes were good and I’d say that was at least the saving grace. Cheers!!

Black Bear Wilderness Area is a sprawling natural reserve covering 1,600 acres in northwest Seminole County. It boasts diverse wetland habitats like Cypress Swamps and Wet Prairies, providing a home to various wildlife such as Florida Black Bears, American Alligators, River Otters, and White-tailed deer. The area offers an extensive network of trails and boardwalks for visitors to immerse themselves in the lush marshy landscape while encountering native flora and fauna.
First time here! It was a blast! Beautiful trails...and a lot of roots...lol...it has 7.1 mi...I did only 3 mi going the right side that goes into de St.Johns river(1 mile walking) looking for birds because I am a bird-wildlife photographer...I didn't saw a lot of birds besides the usual...the nice thing is that there's a lot of shadows because of the trees...gorgeous scenery of the river and a few animals lone wild boars,,raccoons, etc...well maintained and it has a portable potty at the entrance...bring water and insect repellent...
Nasty_2001_gt — Google review
This is a must-do destination in the central Florida region. The wilderness area is circled by a 7.1 mile loop around a dense forest and wetlands area. I didn't see any black bear, but I did see 3 alligators, 5 feral pigs, including 2 piglets, a hawk catching prey in a tree right in front of me, dozens of waterfowl, butterflies, a red-bellied woodpecker, 1.7 billion lizard, and a variety of grasses and other plants, as well as a large number of tree species. There are about twenty boardwalks throughout the trail, and they get you well above the water, giving you a better chance of seeing animals. The trail has convenient signs every quarter mile to let you know your progress. Since the terrain is flat, I suggest planning on 3-4 hours to make the circuit at a reasonable walking pace. Bring lots of water. I didn't have time to get insect repellant so it was fortunate I didn't get a single bite. The wilderness area wasn't too crowded and there was plenty of parking. Now go make your own fun!

Black Bear Wilderness Area has a beautiful 7.5 miles loop trail that is a must do! The trail is well maintained, but you do have to watch your footing for tree roots. It has abundant wildlife. We saw a Bear in the parking lot before we even started our hike! We also encountered wild hogs, and alligator, a pygmy rattlesnake, and a wide variety of birds. We will definitely do it agsin.again. our GPS told us to turn at the stop sign, but you should go straight to the parking lot. There is a porta potty at the trail head. It was clean when we visited.

This park is a Florida hidden gem! We saw otters, numerous species of birds, turtles, wild boar, etc. Although our hike was in July, the canopy coverage for shade, kept us comfortable and cool for a FL summer.

This was one of my favorite hikes in the Orlando area, this is a fantastic Central Florida Gem. It is a 7 min loop and not all of it is decked there tree roots and inclines to move around. The trail is not wheel friendly but a really cool hike I'd definitely recommend for low cost incredibly high value Florida nature appreciation. There is also wild life out there, I saw wild pigs, wood peckers, heard the harmonuis craoks of frogs, and an orchestra of crickets. Wear some kind of bug repellent and sturdy comfortable shoes.

This was such a nice hike. We got to see boars, some gators, lizards and squirrels every where and a variety of bugs. We also got to see the river otter and it was so cuteeee kids were super stoked. And let’s not forget the turtle blocking the path 😌

Its a 7 miles walk. i only got to the 3rd mile but it was beautiful. I want to go back and finish the rest. The trail is long and there's alot to look at. I would recommend going there for a run or a mental health walk. Wildlife there= 🐻🐍🐊 (Bears, snakes, gators)

Zorbas Greek Food is a delightful haven for those craving authentic Greek cuisine in Sanford. This relaxed eatery offers a menu brimming with traditional dishes like spanakopita and chicken souvlaki pitas, alongside Mediterranean favorites such as pizza and calzones. The ambiance is casual, perfect for unwinding on the sidewalk patio while enjoying friendly service.
Our first time here, the food was delicious, flavorful, and fresh. Sanchez, our server was the best! He knows the menu had great recommendations. He was one of the best servers I've experienced in a long time. The restaurant itself is relaxing, clean, and not what I had expected. I am very pleased with my experience here. We will be back and I recommend giving this place a try. You will not be disappointed.

We could hear a little of the kitchen staff talking and having a good time, to me that’s a good sign a happy kitchen makes good food. The decor of the restaurant is cozy with notes of vintage Greece. The music is beautiful soundtracks of the Mediterranean, in the perfect volume to be able to have a conversation with your party. The service is friendly and efficient, Jacob took care of our table (thanks again!) The food, oh the food!, is just fresh and delicious. So good, this is not our first or last time at this gem. 💎

I'll start by saying the food was absolutely fresh and amazing. However, the restaurant wasn't that busy and took a solid 20 mins after sitting just to get some bottled beer, for that i took away a point since we weren't in that much of a hurry. But since the food was that good we give it a pass. 9/10 ~for food. 👍

During Memorial Day weekend, I traveled directly from Tallahassee to The Old Jailhouse Kitchen & Spirits. Despite arriving at the last minute, the restaurant was completely packed on a Saturday night. While my wife's chicken gnocchi dish didn't impress us much and tasted similar to an expensive pot pie, the Pork Belly appetizer was promptly served and incredibly delicious. However, the true standout of our meal was the Black n Blue pasta – it was absolutely extraordinary!
Came here for my birthday last weekend and had a blast. Love the decor and was lucky enough to get the first "jail cell" to the right as soon as you walk in. Fit a party of 11 perfectly and our server(s) were amazing. Food was also great. Everything we ordered was fantastic. Will definitely be back.

A Truly Arresting Culinary Experience! The Old Jailhouse, Sanford, FL The Old Jailhouse is not just a meal; it is an impeccably designed destination that captures the unique, historical charm of Sanford. Its location is unbeatable, situated right in the heart of the historic downtown, making it the perfect starting or ending point for exploring the area's vibrant scene and fantastic local microbreweries. What truly sets this establishment apart is the magnificent and tasteful decoration that boldly celebrates its previous life. The designers managed to honor the building's identity as a former jailhouse—with stunning architectural details—while transforming it into a sophisticated, refined dining space. The ambiance is evocative, unique, and feels both respectful of history and entirely high-end. The meticulous care taken with the environment is evident in every corner. The entire experience is elevated by the staff. The service was professional, cheerful, and incredibly helpful, ensuring every detail of our late lunch was flawless. The beverage menu is outstanding. The cocktails are true works of art—complex, innovative, and perfectly executed; they are exactly the kind of sophisticated, layered drinks you would expect to see in a movie. The food is the absolute centerpiece. Every dish we ordered was exquisitely presented, demonstrating a high level of skill and artistry from the kitchen. More importantly, the food was absolutely delicious, proving that the substance easily matches the style. Final Verdict For anyone seeking an elevated dining experience that combines unique local history with modern culinary excellence, The Old Jailhouse is a mandatory visit. It is highly recommended for dining out with a friend and small groups looking for a memorable night.

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. Cozy atmosphere and the food from the scratch kitchen is delicious. My two chicken sliders were elevated with pickled red onions and a delicious sauce. My husband got a steak sandwich but again, his sandwich was super foodie with real chunks of delicious steak, tiny pearl onions and creamy cheese. The French fries are perfectly salty and crispy. They have a great selection of craft beers which we tried and some wonderful looking specialty cocktails. Our server Maria was awesome. Sorry I didn’t take pictures when we first got our food. We thought their prices were very reasonable and a great value considering their food is so good.

Tried this piece for the first time after having heard good things. Here is my take. The theme inspired atmosphere is great. The brick walls, barred windows, dim lighting, and jail cells hit exactly the mark they were aiming for. Our server was pleasant and attentive. I had the mushroom gnocchi and my wife had the steak. Both dishes were a touch under seasoned but nothing that a dash of salt couldn’t fix and my gnocchi were just a hair overcooked. That having been said, after adding a touch of salt, the rich and savory flavors were brought forward and I enjoyed every bite of my ample serving. My wife’s steak was perfectly cooked and nicely presented. Overall, I would recommend you give this place a try.

The wife and I went for a dinner date this evening and it was incredible. It is a bit pricey, but it is absolutely worth it. Everything on the menu sounds great and I genuinely had a difficult time picking my entrée. I would 100% recommend this place to everyone. It seems like it can definitely get busy, so make a reservation like we did.

We held a party for 40 last night. The food was fabulous and the staff was incredible. No one wanted for anything. Thank you Chef Ryan, Bar Manager Avery, and Kyle and Trey. I wish I could give more than 5 stars.

Was on a business trip and was looking for a great spot for me an 2 of my colleagues. The reviews looked great and so did the food so we went. Definitely made reservations as it was recommended to, good thing we did. Jade our server was very knowledgeable on the menu and gave us great recommendations. She was extremely polite, friendly and a lot of fun. Made our dining experience even better! We ordered the shrimp, the fried chicken and the pasta dish. Started with some empanadas and focaccia bread and ended with the espresso crème brûlée. Everything was great except for the chicken, it wasn't bad it just wasn't crispy enough for the one who ordered it and it tasted a bit too greasy, however all the sides were outstanding and I had the best Brussel sprouts I've ever had hands-down. Definitely will be back the next time. I'm in town great place. Oh, and your dining in an old jail the atmosphere is awesome.

First timer and didn’t know what to expect but everything was EXCELLENT! Indoor/Outdoor seating and bar area. Lemon drop martini was so good. Beef empanadas were flavorful and good portion size. Fried chicken was seasoned and fried to perfection. Orzo and salmon were amazing as well. We also had the apple cobbler for dessert. Everything had so much flavor and seasoning and had me trying to guess all the flavors. Very impressed with this place. Service was great as well as the environment. Really enjoyed the night here and will return to try other items!

Bar
Suffering Bastard is a hidden gem of a tiki bar located within Tuffy's Bottle Shop in Sanford. The intimate space exudes an authentic Hawaiian vibe, offering top-notch drinks and food with impeccable service. Reservations are highly recommended due to limited seating, but the experience is well worth it. The menu features strong cocktails like the Witch Doctor and Astronaut, complemented by Hawaiian-inspired sliders and fries.
The drinks and the service here are definitely top-notch. Be careful these drinks are decorative and taste delicious but they still pack a punch. It's hard to limit yourself just to a couple drinks every one of them are so delicious and so unique. I really enjoy the vibe even though it's a pretty small place when you sit down it feels like you have your own private little area. The service was great the place was busy we still got our drinks in a timely manner and enjoyed the atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this for just about anything but a date night this place is amazing and guaranteed to impress.
Douglas H — Google review
My husband and I visited Suffering Bastard for the first time Saturday 3/29. Easily one of the top tiki bars I’ve visited. It’s very small with a great traditional tiki atmosphere, leaning into creepy, which I loved. We each had three drinks: Astronaut, Port Light, Jean Claude Pandan, Cat 5 Hurricane, a classic mojito…and one I’m forgetting the name of. They were all delicious and STRONG (they do give strength ratings on the menu so we knew what we were getting into). They were also beautiful, like pictures in a magazine. Perfect glassware choices and garnishes. Meticulously put together. The Astronaut was served with colored blinking light in it and a half-lime full of boba pearls (which I think were boozy too?). The hurricane had a busted umbrella pick. And the most stunning mojito I’ve ever had the honor of drinking. The service was fantastic - we didn’t have reservations but they fit us in and let us know when there were a couple bar stools free. The 3 bartenders/servers that night were impeccable. Extremely knowledgeable about the drinks and able to make recommendations. Very friendly and commendably tolerant of drunk patrons who like Ghostbusters (we’re sorry). I bought 3 different glasses which were also beautiful and reasonably priced - I had to buy all 3. Definitely a place worth visiting.

This place blew my mind! Great drinks, excellent service, and delicious food. Quaint, great decor that really transports you. Drinks were uniquely tiki! Nice selection, knowledgeable bartenders, and good food selection. Too bad they're not open earlier, but that's maybe a blessing 😉. It's inside Tuffy's Music Box.
Luis P — Google review
We felt the drinks had lots of ice. I know drinks have ice but most places use the sonic ice the absorbs liquid and not solid kind. We also loved the honesty of the waitress when asked about a sauce that came with the furikake fries. Both were tasty. Overall we enjoyed the experience.
Craig G — Google review
Another stop on my October tiki tour, finally made it to the infamous Suffering Bastard, way out in Sanford, FL. Hidden inside Tuffy's Music Box by a thin red line is a nondescript door leading to a hidden gem. The bar is through and through tiki, oozing with exotica and charm. The menu is chalked full of nice original cocktails and spins on the Don and Vic classics. Don't miss the astronaut, or Vic's bastard as namesake, and be sure to leave with a DD. The small bites were great, and even though it was small, the ambiance was everything. 5/5, make sure you hit this spot before it moves locations to Orlando.
Jordan Z — Google review
This little place was amazing. I've been to bigger tiki bars with less charm. The drinks were amazing, the bar tenders friendly and the laid back atmosphere was nice. Plus, the cost of the drinks was great. Not over priced but certainly craft cocktails. We had two of the original drinks, and can't wait to try more. We will come back every time we are near here, no doubt
Erekgill — Google review
I'm usually a dive-bar kind of guy but I was motivated to find something a little nicer tonight. I stopped in solo and ordered a Mai Tai. The cocktail was magnificent! Multi-dimensional... The variety of flavors combined with the well-chosen garnishes delivered a fantastic ride. After a long week, being able to drop the phone and bask in the experience was exactly what I needed. Note: If you're in a hurry, this is not the place for you. It takes time to craft these cocktails. Slow your roll or you'll be frustrated. It's worth the wait, or they'll make it right. Really.

Jamaican restaurant
Negril Spice - Jamaican American Cuisine is a traditional Jamaican restaurant located in a convenient and bustling area near Sanford City Hall, the Seminole County Courthouse, the park, and the waterfront. The compact space offers sidewalk seating for customers to enjoy their meals. This low-key establishment provides great to-go Jamaican food with friendly staff who ensure that the packaging is neat.
I'm giving 5 stars here because it's exactly what you want from a Jamaican restaurant. The food was fresh and very flavorful. I tried the Mac n cheese, and it didn't disappoint. The jerk pork was very good. I do wish it was more meat than fat. It felt like the ratio was off but not enough to lower my rating. Will definitely be going back to try other menu items.
Agony305 — Google review
I’m on vacation and this is the only Caribbean: /Jamaican restaurant open on a Sunday. It smells pretty good in here and I can’t wait to try the food. I got the large jerk and large curry chicken meal with 2 tingz and left 20% tip for about 32$. If your passing through Sanford on the way to beach stop here.

I tried this back in 2004 in June and it was maybe 3 1/2 four try it October 3 around 1 o’clock rice hard cocktail all you can take is clove cabbage, too crunchy. The festivals wasn’t ready, but when I was leaving, she said they was ready. If you look at the pictures boy they grease. You had to pull all the outer parts off what two meals nothing greasy so

Saw this place while looking for parking. Decided to give a try and it was above my expectations. I order a lunch, a special of jerk chicken, the chicken with flavor and cooked to the point. I also had rice and beans with some oxtail vinaigrette. The vinaigrette gravy more flavor and then topped it up with some plantains. Good cheap lunch. I will be coming back to try more food.

Its not Jamaican food... Well not the Jamaican way ...no spices ....no flavor..im definitely disappointed..because I picked this place to support my ppl...but the snapper isnt snapper its old cheap fish..no seasoning...the peas.n rice...no seasoning...I mean to ppl who never had Jamaican food..it would pass put this was a waste. The fish was so fishy n strong...whewww never again

I enjoy this restaurant. The food is good and the customer service is even better. However, I do feel like the portion size is very small considering the price and other restaurants of similar nature. I’m never certain what’s the difference between their small and larger portions. Please don’t skim on the rice. I should not have a plate of food and run out of rice. That’s the most cost effective side dish. Please work on this! Thanks.

I will 💯 return to get more of this food! The seasoning is perfect the portions are generous and the atmosphere is very friendly and comfortable. Don’t miss this downtown Sanford gem! I chose take out bc I was in a hurry but it’s very nice for eat in as well.

Came in to see what they had, and they did not disappoint !!! Got to try the oxtail, it was very tender but I need a little more kick, bonnet pepper maybe idk, but the jerk smell was taking over !! I ordered the large jerk chicken, split it with someone, still had food left over. The chicken was cooked to perfection not that nasty rubbery stuff from golden krust or Bahama breeze. This was real Jamaican rice and peas too !!! Sweet plantain was a little dry but that’s no big deal. And the cabbage was delicious!! Not everyone can pull this off and they did Thank you for making us feel better from HCA

The Breezeway Restaurant & Bar, located in historic downtown Sanford, offers a laid-back atmosphere with an open patio area where you can enjoy signature cocktails and Southern-inspired dishes. The restaurant features a scratch kitchen that prepares multi-course meals using fresh ingredients and raw foods. Guests can dine in a chic nautical interior or on the charming open-air patio surrounded by tropical greenery and a fountain while listening to jazz, country, or modern music.
My wife and I are regulars here and always enjoy our time at the Breezeway. However, we wanted to mention our valentines dinner specifically. We had a fabulous time! Our server, Jacob, was attentive, funny, and knowledgeable. We were head over heels with our dinner specials of the seafood pasta and strawberry chicken salad thanks to his suggestion. Thank you Breezeway for making our valentines day special!

Don't sleep on this place. I had a fried hot buffalo chicken wrap with their in-house chips and DESTROYED it. The chicken was SO juicy and perfectly cooked. Their chips weren't over salted and they had the perfect crunch. My photo is of the remaining half because I inhaled the first one before I decided to talk about it.

Christian our server was AMAZING! He had a bunch of tables but still managed to be attentive. The appetizers, fried green tomatoes & cheese curds were delicious but our main food, mahi mahi taco's and grilled grouper came out cold and we chose to just get it to go after they remade it. We had our pups so we sat on the patio outside which was a little dirty plus it was raining. Overall not a bad experience I would go back even if just to have the appetizers.

Love this place. I went with my sister and her mother-in-law and had lunch before our Ghost tour. Jacob was out server and let me tell you he took great care of us. I told him he reminded me of Doc Holiday and he stayed I'll be your huckleberry and of course it was over we lived him from them on. Must go see him and get some awesome food and live music came around five pm. Thanks again Breezeway you rock Sanford.

What a pleasurable experience! First as smoker I appreciate the fact that you are allowed to smoke on the outside. I had the shrimp and grits it was AMAZING. You had choice of sides but very limited and nothing that really went with the shrimp and grits so I got fries. The wait staff was really nice. I would totally return again. Oh and they have proper pint size glasses unlike “The Station”

Update: during covid they lost me as a customer. I ordered 2 cubans for pick up. When processing my payment the owner turned the screen to me for the tip. I didnt tip anything since i was picking up my food (no one brought it out to my car). The owner looked at the $0 tip and had the audacity to question me why i didnt leave any tip! He said that i needed to reconsider since the employees prepared my food and packed it and that they get paid the minimum wage! How rude! He should pay his employees a living wage so that they dont have to depend on tips to survive! I was craving a cuban sandwich.Found this restaurant/cafe In downtown Sanford with great reviews. The Cuban sandwich is a MUST! The owner was so amazing! He took the time to explain the menu to EVERYONE who walked it with the same energy and enthusiasm. With the meal they even included a free small dessert, which i found super nice. Will def visit again!

The warm and inviting space offers spacious dining areas with comfortable seating options. In addition to its renowned New York-style pizza, the restaurant also provides catering services for special events.
The food and service was phenomenal. We went there quite by accident for dinner tonight, because there was a fire in the kitchen of our assisted living facility. We both had the Ultimate Gyro with lamb, French fries, and pickles. It was so good, that we didn’t have room for dessert. Not to worry, we each got a piece of red velvet cake to go. All their desserts are baked on the premises

Our server Amanda wasn’t very friendly, borderline rude. The food was mediocre at best… we were advised that there was no upgrade from chips to fries with the gyros or sandwiches but we purchased a serving of fries for 6.50$ was more like a handful… however the French onion soup was good!

I recently had a mediocre dining experience. After being seated, I had to wait a while for a server. I ordered the bacon cheddar burger, medium, but it came out well done. The server wasn't unfriendly, but she didn't check on me after delivering my food. Since I was alone, I finished quickly and had to walk to the counter to pay and leave because the server was engaged in a long conversation elsewhere. Additionally, I had to ask if my meal came with fries, as it wasn't mentioned - it actually came with chips, and fries were an extra charge. Despite being polite, I felt the service was lacking.

Don't order an Italian Stromboli. It's pretty much bread and cheese. Only a speck of meat. Our waitress Beverly walked past twice and asked if everything is ok only to fly on by not waiting for an answer. Terrible experience. Priced way too high.

This review is all because of a server named Lisa. When we first got there, we were sitting in the back and no one came to us for a while, but she ended up coming over, making sure that we were taken care of. Everything was OK. She got her food out so fast but as a mom, I appreciate more than anything. She made my family feel welcome happy she even made one of my children a cute little thank you note The food was amazing and I did like it. *** Please like & share our reviews. *** Handicap accessible with parking challenges. This shop is located at the start to downtown Sanford Marina. It seems to be one of the most perfect locations for parking then waltzing down through the entire Historic Sanford area. The juices and smoothies here are simply amazing. They have wraps, salads, snacks, juice, smoothies and juice shots. They have a lovely little 3 table nook area and a green space bench which is perfect for bestie pics. The owners are extremely personable and professional. They seem to be passionate about health, horticulture and community. They have a small corner of jewelry and goods which are handmade and made with natural materials as well as an area for local businesses to post their info. We ordered the Vampire Vegeterian juice and a Blue Magic Smoothie, I believe. Just the vibrant colors say it all! My kids shared the 20oz smoothie and blue spirulina and all, it was gone in under 5 minutes. The Vampire juice was like a powerful punch of energy. Could def taste all the flavors. The prices are a little higher if you compare them to chain smoothie stores but this one is independently owned and operated. *TIP* - Def visit this place before sunset and closing time. Get your drinks and take sunset walk. (Great 1st date idea. *elbow nudge*). If I was native to the area, I would def be here weekly. There are 2 small tables for outdoor seating as well. This would be my Sat am getaway so I could relax and then hit the shops. Such a pleasant experience. Will definitely be back for a dragon fruit bowl. Highly recommend.

Great food, looks beautiful and so delicious! That Pitaya Dragonfruit bowl was super awesome. Just wished that the fruits weren’t so cold. Some of them were nearly frozen. The wraps were very tasty, specially the Kale one, just also wished they served it with some sauce, cause some of it was a bit dry. Great environment, great service and a very healthy option. However, pricey and unfortunately the healthiest feasts always tend to leave you a bit unfulfilled. You may be hungry again soon 😋

LOVE IT! Just tried this place for the first time today and it was AMAZING. Ordered the Sanford Bowl. The best part was of course the dish but the service was equally as awesome. Chase was so friendly and knowledgeable and he shared the mission and vision of the juice bar as he made my bowl. This is going on my list of weekly treats for myself! Can't wait to go back!

I had a sunburst juice which had amazing flavor and a açaí bowl with strawberries, blueberries granola, I then had a delicious salad for lunch which I took home with chickpeas and black beans and a light vinigarette. The atmosphere is fun with games to play and it was a fun place to have good fresh food with amazing service. I will be back.

Nestled within the unique ambiance of an exotic furniture store, The Imperial at Washburn Imports in Sanford offers a one-of-a-kind experience for cocktail enthusiasts. This Orlando original invites you to sip on craft cocktails made with house-made mixers and syrups while surrounded by stunning decor that’s available for purchase. With ample seating and a spacious layout, it provides a comfortable setting to unwind.
Showed up a little sauced so I forgot to take a picture before we started eating. Pub pretzels with the garlic parmesan butter are flawless. Fish and chips are cooked perfectly, and the bar is affixed with an Irish pub as a sister bar, so it makes sense. Cocktails are top notch. I like gin, so I had a Last Word Fizz and a few beers, as well as trying the house Old Fashioned with E.H. Taylor whiskey. Also lied and said I was an influencer so they let me try their fall seasonal cocktail, the Bee's Fists, which is a Bee's Knees-type cocktail with Bourbon and Green Thai Chili simple syrup. Service is also flawless, Linda is the best! Super fun and bubbly, fun to be around, and pays attention, plus is super friendly. She didn't make any of our cocktails, but the bar manager Aaron was awesome too and helped us pick out our drinks. Live music, the beautiful aesthetic, a huge liquor selection and really cool vintage import furniture for sale solidified this as one of our favorite stops in Sanford. I'll be back next time I'm here, and I'll make sure all my friends are, too!!!

12/10/24.. Sadly they are now permamently closed at this location. One of my favorite spots. A wide variety of drink options to choose from. Erin, the Op Manager, makes really good drinks, is knowledgeable, professional, and welcoming. They started serving food about a week ago now. Currently, there is a handful of options to choose from. They also sell unique furnishings and decor. This place is eclectic with a wide variety of pieces.

We've been meaning to stop in for a while, final did so on a Friday night..surprisingly it wasn't packed. Lots of seating area, but you self order at the bar, maybe there were two bartenders, but for sure the one guy with the exquisite stashe was on it. The lines at the bar seem to clog up the space, giving a feel of ppl hovering over you while you're drinking. Not horrible but again it occurs. Overall really good.

After dinner one night in Orlando, my boyfriend and I were walking around and stumbled upon a wonderful surprise. It’s half an import store and half a bar - a hidden gem. The night we went there a band was playing and it was wonderful! I definitely recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area!

Have never had a bad experience here. Amazing craft cocktail menu that changes all the time. Amazing craft beer and the staff is so friendly and knowledgeable about upcoming new whiskeys and spirits ! The atmosphere is of an antique shop and we love it so much. We will keep coming back !

This is an excellent craft cocktail bar situated within a furniture shop of sorts. In particular, each table and seat is unique and for sale. The cocktails are on point, old fashioned pictured. They have a very limited food menu, essentially charcuterie. Nonetheless, the board was quite good and provides some sustenance bas you enjoy your cocktails.

We went to Winter Park first but since they do not serve liquor at that location, we decided to venture out to Sanford. It is pretty spacious and it has comfortable decor to sit and a bar where you order your drinks. Service was a bit slow for it not being too busy for a Friday night. The bartender seemed to be having a bad night because her attitude said it all. Too bad it did not get better (yes we did tip her). There was a dj and he had the music pretty loud and it seemed that he just played what came to mind. It wasn't bad, just a but too loud. As the night progressed, it became pretty empty and not too busy. Drinks were good and we were shown that they had a limited menu. Not bad since we were there to just have drinks and have a good time. Probably will come back if we are close to town. Pictured the Tomas Collins, Blood Orange Manhattan and a Prosseco/Gin drink.

Last Sunday, I visited SLAM Pizza And Cheesesteaks for the first time with my brother. We ordered a Meaty Pie and some hot wings, which turned out to be the best ones I've found locally. The wings were served hot, crispy, and had a delicious tangy sauce. The pizza was also tasty and had a thin crust. It was more than enough for both of us to enjoy and still have leftovers. The service was excellent and the staff was very friendly.
The food, service, and atmosphere are all top tier. Customer service was amazing! The staff is accommodating and friendly. It was a 10 out of 10. Based off of my experience I could tell that both standards of customer service and food is excellence and nothing short of it. My first time here with my family was amazing. I highly recommend! If you’re thinking about stopping here, just do it.

We finally found an amazing place for pizza slices and crispy , not soggy mozzarella sticks! Best in town! Staff is very friendly and nice too! We had 2 big meat pizza slices(pizza crust was incredible), an amazing crispy mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce and two fountain drinks! SLAM!! Delicious I’m a food reviewer (pizza only ) and this by far is one of the BEST pizzas I’ve had in a long time. The customer service was excellent and I loved the fact that the owner took the time to breakdown how they got the name SLAM. Family oriented, people friendly, wherever we are in town we will be back

My bf and I work close, so we usually get Slam on our lunch break at least once a week! Service is always amazing; staff is very friendly and relatable; one reason we love coming here! Food comes out quick, delicious and hot! Price point is actually amazing! 2 big slices of pepperoni pizza, 1 order of cheese fries, and 2 fountain drinks was only $24 after tip! 10/10, for me they are one of the big reasons I love Sanford! We love and appreciate Slam staff!!! They rock 💖

Good food. Hard working nice dudes. Wings were great. Cheese steaks were great, but soft bread, not toasted fyi. Seems like a good lunch place, not dinner. The place itself is a little rough around the edges. AC was off / inefficient during heat wave, so we were sweating while eating. Went Friday evening and there was this super loud party next to us. Couldn't hear ourselves talk. Kids happy.

It offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of nearby Orlando, providing locals and visitors with a charming paved pathway to enjoy leisurely strolls while admiring the lake views. The trail connects various parks, including Fort Mellon Park and Veterans Memorial Park, as well as the historic downtown area, museums, shops, restaurants, and a public boat ramp.
Beautiful walk by the lake. Nice benches to sit in the shade and very clean. I even saw an alligator in the water (or crocodile, I can't tell the difference). :)

I love biking, but I love biking on paved surfaces because I have a bad back. The Sanford Riverwalk is beautiful for that and having the lake on one side is very enjoyable. You can go far on it and join other paths. And you get to see lots of birds, and occasional gators.

Veterans Memorial Park, located in Sanford along the picturesque shores of Lake Monroe, is a serene and reflective space dedicated to honoring those who have served the country. The park features various monuments, information kiosks, and memorial bricks, providing visitors with an opportunity for quiet contemplation. With benches offering views of Lake Monroe and its proximity to Downtown Sanford's eclectic offerings, including bistros, comic book stores, and music venues, the park is an ideal spot for leisurely exploration.
Simple memorial park with several plaques that summaries of America veterans' participation in the various wars. The onyx colored obelisk at the end of the park is impressive, as is the large flag in the traffic circle at the head. The park is located along the river walk and overlooks the water. Street parking is available.

It is in Sanford, in Historic Downtown, on the shores of Lake Monroe. A beautiful place, peaceful and conducive to reflection. Worth knowing. Then get to know the city in the historical part, with very interesting buildings of the time. Good restaurants and a Saturday fair of natural products and handicrafts. I recommend. If you liked my evaluation, kindly give a like. Thank you.

A small peaceful place to enjoy Lake Monroe and pay respects to our fallen heroes. There are stones representing Veterans from the war of 1812 to present day Iraqi Freedom. There's a marina and you'll probably catch some people fishing. There's no food due to the closure of the only restaurant on the marina.

Embark on a delightful cruise along the scenic St. Johns River with the St. Johns Rivership Company in Historic Downtown Sanford. Choose from a variety of cruises such as lunch, dinner dance, or party cruises departing almost daily from Lake Monroe port. Enjoy picturesque views and informative commentary from Captain Steve while indulging in delicious meals served on board with top-notch service. The modern and elegant boats feature large windows, stylish lighting, and upscale amenities for a truly luxurious experience.
Took the 3 hour lunch cruise today with my sister in law. We got to sit on the second level, away from the live entertainment but awesome view from our window seats at the table. The price of the ticket includes a 4 course meal that is made to order over the course of the ride. On the table is complimentary water and both sweet and unsweetened iced tea, they also have Coke products along with a full bar. We had finger foods of veggies and fruit with dip and sweet bread to start. Then a salad course, mixed greens and other veggies with dressing on the side along with bread and rolls. For lunch I had the chicken Marsala, mashed and Brussels sprouts, my sister enjoyed the prime rib with mashed and corn. For dessert was coffee and carrot cake. Natalie was our server and she was attentive and personable. Made it that much more enjoyable. We had both live entertainment and guided nature narrated tour. Christine has a beautiful voice and knows an array of different songs. She kept us well entertained. The breeze and the view from the top was beautiful. The spray from the paddle wheel was cooling. It was a beautiful and relaxing luncheon. I highly recommend taking the trip.

Relaxing paddleboat ride up the Historical St. John's River. We boarded right on schedule, the staff did a great job to make everyone feel right at home. A musician kept us entertained throughout the ride along with facts and nature information on the river. The only complaint was the fact that our group of seven was not served dinner at the same time, having to eat separately. Otherwise highly recommend for family and retirees!

It was supposed to rain throughout our lunch Riverboat Cruise, but we were lucky. The overcast sky and frequent breeze outside was a welcome surprise, and we experienced no rain whatsoever. We were greeted as we came on board, departed on time, and had a delightful cruise. The trip, the people who worked there, the food, and the entertainment made this venture a wonderful experience. We spent some time exploring all areas of the Barbara Lee and taking pictures of family, friends, and the surroundings. Lunch brought a generous variety of appetizers and entrées combined with sides and beverages to satisfy the individuals and groups, bringing joy to all on this well-prepared cruise. The entertainer made such memorable song choices throughout the trip, limiting her breaks. Some guests danced, and others sang along. During the meal, the only complaint that I heard was about the dry mashed potatoes, making me glad I ordered the baked potato with cheese and bacon added, a comfort food for me. My entrée regret was in ordering salmon instead of prime rib. I noticed that was prevalent at my table and nearby and appeared to be cooked to perfection. Nevertheless, our kind server brought me some requested salsa, which provided the necessary flavor to eat the fishy tasting salmon, even with its seasoning, original butter sauce, and my thoroughly squeezed lemon. For dessert, I expected a chocolate possibility, but there was only carrot cake. Certainly, there was plenty to eat, along with servers willing to bring more of something requested, so I would not deduct a star from all that was superior about the atmosphere of such a positive adventure.

I would skip the evening Bingo Cruise as I was disappointed. The DJ was not very entertaining and he rushed the music to the next one when the crowd got into it like starting to sing or clap. Would be good idea to call out birthdays and special occasions for attendees would be a nice touch. They need to have a bingo break it was rushed. No stand up to stretch or restroom break just full 2 hours of rushed bingo. It gets dark quickly so you cant even see outside and you can not enjoy the ships view. Plus constantly looking at the monitor and cards you have no time to look out the window. This could of been done inside a building for all it was worth. Servers and employees were friendly. Maybe the 3 hr day bingo better but I would not go back to this night time one. I have been to many other music bingos and this was my least favorite.

We went on the Alice in Wonderland High Tea cruise and had a wonderful time. It was a 3-hour relaxing ride on the St. John’s River. The decor was very clever and the food served for the tea party was delicious, but more of a light meal. The guests came dressed in various outfits to add to the fun - some came with tea party dresses, others in Alice in Wonderland costumes. It is a great way to spend the day with the family. The tickets were not expensive and it was not overcrowded. I would highly recommend it.

Out group had absolutely the best time celebrating a 70th birthday. The singer was outstanding. She could sing anything, just fantastic. We danced... a lot! There were a lot of on board birthday celebrations and you could tell everyone was having a blast! The food was very good also and exceeded my expectations. The service was great. The meal came out at a great pace, not rushed. They had fruits and pastries to eat when we boarded at 11 as well as drinks. That was really nice. Lunch started coming out about 12:30. It was a good time.

Went on St John's Rivership for Father's Day. Ship was beautiful and clean. We paid extra for a window seat on the upper level and we had a great view! As we were sat at our table there was a fruit and cheese plate and sweet bread tea and water which was nice. Service was very slow in the beginning it was a young man he was kind but he struggled and it took very long for us to recieve our drinks. Toward the middle of the cruise Jackie took over and things were better and she was great. The food was decent not great not terrible. We had the prime rib, salmon and entree salad. The views of the river were beautiful and you can roam freely throughout the ship. Entertainment was on the lower level which you can see and hear from the upper level with a large tv. There was a woman singing she had a great voice and there were a mix of songs which was nice. There were people dancing therefore I would recommend requesting the lower level of you prefer to be closer to the entertainment. For St John's I would recommend stepping up the food a bit. Overall a great day and experience.I would recommend and I will return with family when they are in town.

It was a lovely experience. The only complaint I had was that the table we paid extra for was in a back corner with no air flowing toward it at all. We had to move to the 2nd floor which was much cooler. They refunded us but we had to go outside to enjoy the unobstructed view since they didn't have a window seat available to move us to. 5 year old granddaughter loved it as did I. Definitely recommend!!!

Perfect treat after dinner in Historic Sanford! We had heard lots of good stuff about Wondermade and folks weren't lyin! We sampled several ice creams before settling down on some maple bacon and waffles and syrup flavored goodness! My child who thought the ice cream was "too creamy" (wildness) got a lollipop! We sat while it afternoon showered inside the shop and was perfect timing for the rain to stop after we finished our scoops!

First visit today because the smell of fresh waffle cone drive us in. I order triple chocolate ice cream on a chocolate waffle cone and my husband order pineapple upside down cake ice cream on a chocolate waffle cone. Ice cream was okay I have had better but we really enjoyed the waffle cone! The service was great very helpful and friendly girls at the counter, the place is big so plenty space for people and enough chairs as well. They claim they do the ice cream and Marshmallows in house and they have a big menu on the s’mores department. Overall nice experience and okay pricing my next visit I’ll try the marshmallow to see if is better than the ice cream.

We’re regulars at Wondermade in Downtown Sanford, and it’s truly one of our favorite spots! The service is always amazing, warm, welcoming, and fast. The employees, especially Tristan and Kora, go above and beyond every time. They’re friendly, knowledgeable, and make every visit extra special. There are so many delicious options to choose from handcrafted marshmallows, creamy ice cream, rich chocolates, gooey s’mores, coffee, floats, and so much more! This was a cool place to stop after our bike ride on the cross Seminole trail and Sanford Riverwalk. I think there was 10 or 12 of us and everybody found something that suited their taste buds here. I had been craving ramen for days, so today after work I asked my boyfriend to please take me out for ramen. He found this spot in Sanford, and it was the perfect excuse to explore the area. He took me to Henry’s Depot, which is located right next to the beautiful Lake Monroe such a scenic and peaceful setting. Henry’s Depot has a variety of small restaurants and even a bar inside, which makes it a great place to explore different flavors in one spot. We went to Yugiri Ramen Project, and let me tell you I was in heaven. I ordered the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen and it was everything I hoped for: rich, flavorful, and perfectly spicy just how I like it. We also shared an order of takoyaki, those little octopus balls that were so good we were literally licking our fingers. What made it even better was the vibe: great food and drinks all in one place, followed by a romantic walk by the lake. Honestly, it felt like such a sweet and cozy date night. Highly recommended if you’re looking for something delicious and different in Sanford!

Henry's Depot is a unique and cool concept. It feels like a food truck park but all indoors, or maybe like a condensed version of a mall food court. The variety is impressive, catering to all kinds of tastes. While walking through, I noticed the prices were a bit high, but that seems common everywhere these days. The setup almost gave a flea market vibe with all the different options. Parking was ample, and there was an outdoor eating area as well. Inside, it was a bit warm and dimly lit—perhaps intentional for the ambiance. I appreciated being able to get more than just typical fast food, but still at a fast pace. Overall, I enjoyed it and would definitely go back.
Brian L — Google review
Went there the first time. Did not know that they were more like a food court and not a sit down restaurant. So I took a chance and ate there. I chose a tomato soup and grill cheese sandwich. I could not believe the price for 2 orders. $38 dollars before tip and that was the special otherwise it would cost more. $6.00 for a can of coke and the sandwiches avg. are $15. Was it worth it, no. The soup was not great, Campbell's was better. The grill cheese was good but not worth the price. There are other restaurants that I can get more for the price. If have money to burn and you don't care too much about the quality then this is your place. Otherwise I would go somewhere else. Just to let you know that I am a Chef for over 40 years, so I know about the quality of the food. I will never return there nor recommend the place to others. I have told my story to others with the hope that they will stay away.

Meh. Its like an indoor food court. Lots of turnover between the individual stands. The Basin, a bar in the back, however, is top notch. Nice IPA on draft, local flavors. Inventive drinks. We sat at the bar and forgot we had come there for food.

Pizza restaurant
Oak Flame Pizza, located in Henry's Depot in downtown Sanford, offers a variety of gourmet pizzas made to order in a wood burning oven. The restaurant provides a cozy atmosphere with scattered tables around the depot. Customers can enjoy unique pizza options such as the Vegan Velocity with plant-based sausage, broccolini, and tofu ricotta or create their own vegan masterpiece with fresh veggies and housemade vegan lemon ricotta.
Visited them at the weekend while walking around downtown Sanford, great location with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Quick friendly service with vegan, vegetarian & meat options to choose from. Our vegan pizza was excellent and we will happily return again.

UPDATE I had to lower a star. They just do not have consistency at all. The last Pizza was not good. If this was the first time I ever had Pizza from Oak Flame then I would not order it again. It was overly burnt, as you can see in the pic, sparse on the cheese, was like burnt bread with too much sauce. I did go up and say something but they didn't seem too interested. If you compare the pictures they look like they came from 2 different pizza places - 1 great, 1 not. We look forward to every Friday after work grabbing a drink at the Basin and ordering a pizza from Oak Flame but if this is the pizza I can expect from them then that Friday tradition will need to change. Original Review____ Give this pizza try, it is excellent Pizza! The ingredients are very fresh and flavorful and they use some of the best tasting and texture of cheese I have tasted!! The crust is light and delicious and the pizza is never greasy. I also love I can get a Pizza and have a great drink from the Basin to go with it. So why not 5 stars if I like it so much? It is just a tad to much crust , I would like a little more sauce and cheese to fill the pizza and less edge crust that can take up a good chunk of the pie sometimes. Also wish they had an option for a larger size that would be better for two people. Aside from that , Oak Flame is one of my favorite places to get a good pizza.

So this place is inside an Market that has other places to eat. I love it for that reason! However, our experience at Oak Flame was not the best especially since I am a pizza lover! I love the fact that it is cooked in stone oven but that's about it. The pizza had way to much cheese which made it super messy to eat. I know pizza should be gooey but this was overboard. It also lacked flavor. The sauce needed more herbs and garlic to make it a more flavorful base. I will probably will be back to give them another try because it could've been an off night for the cook. The other thing is they don't offer drinks. I love a ice cold coke with my pizza but they only offered a couple of IPAs.

My girlfriend and I wanted a cheese pizza, but the owner suggested something else we could try, so we went for it. We got the Duck, Duck, Brie! pizza, which was better than I could have ever imagined. It has flame roasted duck, garlic oil base, mozzarella and Brie cheese topped with thin apple slices. This was my first time eating duck so I was a bit skeptical, but those feelings quickly changed with the first bite. I definitely recommend this place for a quick bite for lunch!!!

Oak Flame Pizza is in Henry's Depot, right off the main street in downtown Sanford. It's a cute place with tables scattered around different parts of the depot, which is home to several food & drink establishments. The pizzas here are gourmet - toppings include roasted garlic & mushrooms - & made to order in a wood burning oven. The food was delicious! I highly recommend it. They have vegan pizzas & they're out if this works. The employees were really helpful & the service was outstanding. Brandon, a manager there, is top notch! We were blown away by this place. It's definitely on our list of favourites.

I love this pizza place! Come here 2-4 times a month. As a vegan, sometimes it’s hard to find great pizza spots. Alpha always gives great customer service, working between Oak Flame and Dharma. Mike, the cook makes the best pizzas!
Silvana G — Google review
Oh my gosh. The Duck, Brie and Apples pizza is to die for. I asked if they had garlic powder (I love garlic) and he acted as if I had just asked for ketchup at a steak restaurant. He said “why do you want to kill it with garlic? It’s plenty flavorful without it.” He was right! I still would have enjoyed an extra dash of garlic only because I like garlic flavor. But they still get 5 stars from me! Good on ya!

Outstanding pizza and friendly staff! Cozy atmosphere and great place for families. They have vegan options, and the dessert items are made by their own pastry chef. Can’t wait to try their other pizza pies and cookies!

Irish pub
The Sullivan Public House is a recent addition to the downtown Sanford dining scene, offering a cozy Irish pub atmosphere with a growing selection of Irish whiskeys and various beers. The dimly lit space provides a perfect hideaway from the Florida sun, featuring comfortable large booth seating and friendly staff. The menu offers classic pub fare, including delicious fish and chips and flavorful shepherd's pie.
Literally the best, most-Irish pub in all of Central Florida!! They have the best lineup of local Irish/Scottish musicians Thursday-Saturday. Gilmore, JJ, Alex, and multiple other great performers. It’s hard to find an Irish pub that has actual traditional Irish music. If that interests you at all, this place a must visit. You also can’t beat the atmosphere, menu, and staff (Thank you Merrill!)
Tom S — Google review
Pains me to give 2 stars, Used to be fun place to go, but last couple visit were like a wake. Zero atmosphere, not sure if they have music any more. but when I was in there its boring quiet, no music, no radio, no vibe at all. Not even volume on the couple tiny TVs. They have a good whiskey selection but I cant see spending premium money for premium whiskey to sip in a no atmosphere place.
Bret B — Google review
A very laid back bar with comfortable large booth seating against the opposite wall. Very friendly staff. I enjoyed the indirect lighting, it wasn't dreary dark but the lighting is dim enough that you're not getting blasted by light bulbs. The food was also amazing. Very crisp and fresh fish and chips. You can taste the different meats and veggies in the shepherds pie, and the soothing egg was a teensy bit dry but also tasted very good. Overall, highly recommended to check this place out!

We stopped in on a Friday evening around 6 PM for a quick dinner and drinks before heading to the Asian lantern festival at the central Florida zoo. . It’s not a big place, but we were immediately impressed by the towering and stunning custom wood bar with a copper ceiling. We felt like this bar had history beyond even the 5 years or so this place has been open. It was moderately busy for the bartender, who was also running tables. Fortunately, we were only her second table and could tell she was quite experienced and could handle the volume. One or two more tables, and she likely would have needed some help though We ordered the meatloaf sandwich and loaded chips. The chips were what you would expect, and the meatloaf was delicious. I’m not a beer expert, but we tried their pale ale which was quite good.I believe the name was Harp Lager. Overall, we had a good experience, and would definitely go back again. 👍

Extremely disappointed that they no longer serve food. This use to be one of our Sanford favorites for a cozy night out to grab good beer and delicious food, the fries were to die for!! We went tonight and they were very weird about me asking for a food menu. The entire vibes of the place were just off. If you asked me about Sullivans 6 months ago I would’ve given it 10 stars.

Absolutely beautiful and authentic looking Irish pub ... Beautiful wood work and ambiance. I didn't even know this place was here, found it and love it! The beer is wonderful ( of course) and the mixes you can get and blends of beers. I didn't try the whisky, but I know that are known for that too. Owners are super friendly and staff is very helpful. Food Ah-maaaaaz-ing!!

We spent night in Sanford night before our early flight and happily found the downtown area. We were surprised at the active downtown area and hadn't made reservations. We put our name in at one place and had a wait so we continued on and found The Sullivan. We walked right in at the table and waiter said to plop down wherever we'd like. Shotgun style bar, booths on sides and high-top tables down middle. Bar was along one side as well. There was a lively crowd and people coming in and out through out our dinner. We ordered the Vegetable Risotto Cakes and the Corned Beef Sandwich. Risotto cakes were excellent, crispy outside and creamy flavorful inside. Corned Beef Sandwich was the best I've ever had! Meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned and the cabbage/carrots in mustard broth dressing was the perfect punch! Served on a house made soda bread which was delicious as well. Fries were light and seasoned great. I'd recommend The Sullivan to anyone who likes an Irish pub or good food in general! Service was great and prompt, chef delivered meal to table which was a nice touch. Bathrooms were clean and spacious.

Restaurant
Nestled along the scenic shores of Lake Monroe, St Johns River Steak & Seafood is a delightful waterside restaurant that promises an unforgettable dining experience. With its bright and airy dining room complemented by a spacious outdoor patio, guests can savor their meals while soaking in stunning views of the water. The menu boasts a hearty selection of chops and fresh seafood, making it an ideal spot for both casual lunches and special dinners.
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here and had a wonderful experience. The food was outstanding. The steak was perfectly cooked with seasoning that stood out as some of the best we’ve had. The lobster and seafood platter were fresh and flavorful, and the sweet potato fries were easily the best we’ve ever tasted. The service was excellent from start to finish. Staff were attentive without being intrusive, and they even surprised us with a complimentary dessert to mark our anniversary. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. We had a window seat overlooking the water, which made the evening feel even more special. Pricing was very fair for the quality of food and service we received. We would definitely recommend St. Johns River Steak & Seafood, especially for special occasions or anyone looking for a memorable meal by the water.

We heard about this cute little restaurant that was right on the river in Sanford. We did make a reservation a few hours before we decided to go, which was the best idea because they are very busy restaurant. The first thing that I think was amazing was that they were collectively as a team to serve each table which really made the customer experience skyrocket cause anytime you needed something somebody was like hey is everything OK? Do you need your drink refilled is everything as you wish there was somebody within earshot to assist with whatever you need. We had coconut shrimp hush puppies the key was platter in the whole snapper I will say they have large meal size and definitely could be shared All of our food was extremely good and we shared it amongst the whole table 4 or five people The service was great. We sat in the covered enclosed patio close to the river, which was nice.

We were seated by the river (inside the restaurant and per request) and that alone is amazing, but the service and food met the same quality! Their spinach artichoke dip was and is their best appetizer and the best one I’ve had in my life! I also don’t like oysters but for some reason I told my wife to share one with me and it was great too! Their other foods (as seen in the pictures) was amazingly delicious and fresh. Thank you Jess and the team for a memorable experience and dinner!

Wow. Great views of the river, great food and great service. Had a party of 7 everyone loved their food. Best French fries..ever... spinach dip, grouper bites... You can't go wrong. My haddock sandwich was also amazing. I need to come here more often PLUS they have a full bar and great drinks. Try the Victoria secret cocktail.

Had lunch there today, food was quite good and portion sizes were generous. We had the Fish and Chips and Cajun Catfish (crawfish and fried okra topping). The service staff was excellent, they worked as a team. They were very attentive and personable but did not impose. The location and views of the lake are also excellent. Simply a wonderful lunch time experience.
Tim J — Google review
The service was so fast and very friendly. They have a team serving system where one person takes your order, someone else brings things out, and etc. I expected it to be chaotic but it was actually very seamless and well organized. One server brought out our food, another was right behind him to offer malt vinegar for my fish and chips. We were well taken care of but also not bombarded by interruptions. The food was amazing! We both ordered the fish and chips and the fish was tender and flaky, cooked perfectly. The sidewinder fries were crispy and perfectly seasoned. The hush puppies were the best I’ve ever tasted! I don’t normally like coleslaw, but even that was delicious. And you can tell the tartar sauce is made fresh in house. The atmosphere is fun and lively with a strong marina vibe.

My husband brought me here on a Saturday evening for my birthday. We called to reserve a spot thankfully. But despite the place being packed full, we got food and drinks fast and with amazing friendly service. The gator bites were perfect and the drinks were perfect. I will definitely be going back.
Cara C — Google review
My guy and I really enjoyed the food. The food is well seasoned and the portion size is enough for two people to eat from 1 plate. The service is a little different than what I am used to. So we had our main server but when he walked away someone else came over and took our order. Then after that person walked away someone else came over to check on us. The manager explained to us they all work together. It's not a bad thing just different. We sat on the enclosed patio with the beautiful view of the river. We will definitely dine there again.

Caffè Di Riverwalk is a charming café located in downtown Sanford, offering both indoor and outdoor seating with a stunning view of Lake Monroe. The cozy atmosphere invites guests to relax and enjoy a leisurely start to their day, perhaps by browsing the assortment of books available.
This little gem in Sanford. We were looking for a place to have breakfast and found this cute spot with a varied menu of coffees, smoothies, desserts, and delicious food. I ordered a croissant with bacon and a large latte, both simply exquisite. The service was quick and friendly. I hope to return when I have more time.
Sema — Google review
The staff is very nice and the vibe/view is great as well. However you just can't get past their greed and price gouging. I took a picture of the menu as of the time of writing this review for your reference. $5 for a regular coffee? $9 for an "eggy bagel" with no meat? Additionally I like to bring an insulated cup to keep my drink warm, but I know health code does not allow it to be filled, so I ask for it "for here" so as to not waste a paper cup. I poured it into there and you can see the height. About 33% less coffee than what I receive when ordering the same size at other places and pouring it in. So given the small amount served and the reduction in quantity you're paying 2x as much here roughly when all neighboring coffee houses average $3. I cannot comment on the food as I did not want to spend that much money and generally speaking prefer to make my own meals.
Ryan S — Google review
Such a perfect spot for a cafe! I had an Espresso Shake that was so creamy and thick, delightful. The employees are also very nice and chill. I love that they have outdoor seeting and are literally located right next to the beautiful mixed-use path along Lake Monroe. On said path are bike loli-pop parking spots and a water fountain. Gotta love active mobility and development that capitalizes on it!

Soo peaceful with a beautiful View. My Latte was great and the food tasted fresh. I will be back
Tiffany W — Google review
Beautiful view and great customer service! The owner of this establishment should be absolutely ashamed of their ridiculous pricing. I ordered a “large” iced caramel latte and the total came to $11.32!! I kindly informed the cashier I only wanted 1 latte and lo and behold that was the actual price for a single latte. ELEVEN DOLLARS!!!

Such a great ambience! This is a perfect place for meeting up with friends or family, or just relaxing on your own. Definitely worth the stop!

What a Peaceful retreat. Great food, wonderful coffee and atmosphere with a great view of Lake Monroe. Miles is a fantastic server and treated us with grace. May be our favorite morning spot in Sanford.

Caffé Di Riverwalk is a cozy nook of smiles and friendly vibes. Their outdoor seating sings a duet with the river, making studying a dreamy affair. The Egg, Bacon, and Cheese Croissant? Simply a bite of heaven! Though the coffee played a shy tune and was pretty average.
