Neighborhoods
Albufeira Old Town is a charming district with whitewashed buildings, traditional plazas, and cobbled streets that exude an elegant ambiance. It's a perfect destination for families seeking an authentic holiday experience. Unlike other touristy areas in Albufeira, the Old Town has preserved its original charm with boutique shops, quaint cafes, and traditional restaurants. The area showcases a blend of Roman, Gothic, Moorish, and Spanish influences through its historic churches and architecture.
Absolutely rammed with bars/restaurants, sports bars. Gift shops galore, very child friendly as is all of Spain & Portugal. Gorgeous beach and warm sea. Take a sea trip dolphin watching, sea cave visiting or parasailing, the usual wayersports. The people are friendly. The old town comes a bit rowdy at night, but there's no trouble, just very friendly boisterous singing as the youngsters enjoy themselves

very interesting old town. also a beautiful and widespread beac. the underground is mostly sandy with little rocks and shells . two sunbeds cost 21€. the old town has a party mile with live music and restaurant after restaurant with low prices.a pint of beer costs 4€. a stroll through the city is easily made in three hours.
Skyla A — Google review
I spent a week here 17 years ago, back then it was quiet bars and restaurants with quaint shops. Now it's like it's on speed! It seems the strip has moved into old town. The one thing stopping a 5 star from me is the fact you get hounded to go into the bars and restaurants, even in the morning! That aside the place is lovely the locals are great and there are some fantastic places to eat!

The latest visit in Albufeira that I did was last Thursday in September 2025. It was windy and still had many tourists. Nothing much changed from my last visit in 2021. The beach was beautiful. The sun is warm. Souvenirs, cafes, bars, restaurants, ice creams are there to be seen.
Rita — Google review
Absolutely stunning, small streets and gorgeous views, gets really animated in the evening, filled with loads of restaurants and places to have a bite and a drink.
Ana P — Google review
A very charming small town by the sea. Enjoy a stroll along the cobblestone alleyways, have a tasty seafood meal at one of the restaurants in the old town or hit the beach and enjoy the sun. Highly recommended.
Sajida A — Google review
Lovely old charming town. Beautiful surroundings and views, beautiful beaches, lots of hustle and bustle in the main square ❤️
Shane ( — Google review
Albufiera old town has a lot to offer. From bars, restaurants, shopping, and its proximity to the beach. There are small museums, churches and lots of things to keep you busy. The main square is vibrant. Lined with lbars, but a great place to people watch. Wander around the small streets, and you can find something for everyone. Many bars and restaurants have roof terraces, with great views over the beach and sea. At night, the place comes alive, with people of all ages. Crazy karaoke bars to old-time singers. Snack bars and fine dining. Many people come in on the little train and head down the escalator into town. These lead you through a large square that often has markets or music and leads directly to the beach. From the other side, there is a glass lift that takes you down from the town to the beach too. Out of season, this is a really peaceful place, but in the summer, it ramps up with hen and stag parties. I must say. Most people were very well-behaved. Fun in the sun

Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Strip is a vibrant and lively neon-lit street that truly comes alive at night, offering a plethora of nightclubs, eateries, and open-fronted bars. With its blinking neon signs and pulsing music, it resembles a miniature Las Vegas. Located in the Montechoro area of Albufeira, this bustling nightlife hub attracts young travelers from Northern Europe as well as stag and hen parties during the summer months.
The Strip in Albufeira is a really nice place to visit. There are lots of restaurants, bars, and cafes where you can enjoy good food and drinks. It’s also a great place to buy souvenirs and gifts. During the day it’s nice to walk around, and at night it gets busy with music and entertainment. It’s a fun and lively spot, perfect if you’re looking for a good time in Albufeira.

Lively and Welcoming Atmosphere This place is fantastic! A perfect spot for a night out with friends. It's always buzzing with great people, fantastic music, delicious food, and excellent drinks. Everything is well-organized and the atmosphere is incredibly cheerful and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Our favourite place to go was Ancora bar. Good entertainment. Visited 3 times out of our week's stay in Albufeira.
Audrey C — Google review
Certainly NOT the cleanest of places I have been . The bottom half down to the beach is a better area, more modern bars and a lot cleaner but be prepared for cardiac hill on the way there and back we did a tuc tuk which was great fun and the nicer bars are at the beach area . Foot paths are some of the worst ones. I have walked on up and down not good for people who struggle to walk or not good on their feet .There are holes all over the place on the paths and very slippy when wet . We went down during the daytime, so I would definitely avoid it at night . Not for us .
Alan A — Google review
We were there in August and the nightlife is mainly for very young people, they looked to be between 15 and 25, all very drunk, high and ready to mingle. Very noisy, all bars blast the same songs, expensive drinks, the clubs which charge the entrance are not worth it. Albufeira Old Town is a much better choice
Mihaela M — Google review
It's like a warm Blackpool turned up to 12, packed with people during the evening. If you like loud music, cocktails and t-shirts that say I ♡ MILFS, you'll love it. If you like Antiques Roadshow and fine dining then it's probably best avoided.
Ian G — Google review
Very quiet during the day and at night crazy busy. Have bars, restaurants, clubs, shops, tattoo shops, dessert places from top of the strip to the bottom. A great atmosphere.
Mel — Google review
December Christmas week not busy at all which was a dream 😍👌🏼 Christmas Day plenty of restaurants open so don’t be worried that you won’t get food because plenty around. In the summer this place is crazy mayhem all the time with sports bars, clubs, pubs and restaurants kicking. But off season I found it to be nice 👌🏼 not many people around and lots of places do close for December season but I wouldn’t be put off by this. Plenty to see and do and plenty of beautiful restaurants around too.

Praia da Oura, located near Albufeira, is a popular beach known for its lively atmosphere. It's a favorite among young tourists due to its proximity to bustling bars and restaurants in Albufeira. Families can also enjoy the beach during the day. The wide golden sand beach features stunning rock formations with autumnal colors and is monitored by lifeguards in the summer. Visitors can explore caves and coves, but should be cautious of strong currents in these areas.
Beautiful Beach and the surrounding rock formations are stunning, great location to get some nice pictures mixed in with the water, there’s a lovely bird spot nearby and multiple routes to the beach and running along the beach. Would recommend to anyone nearby at least taking the stroll down beach/rocks.

Praia Santa Eulália is a stunning golden-sand beach located on the eastern side of town, offering a serene environment surrounded by lush vegetation and cliffs. Great beach only a 7 min bus ride from real belavista hotel. Intimate area not crowded. Very clean and tidy. Beautiful sand and the calm ocean waves were mesmerising. Resteraunts serving lunch and drinks on top of the cliffs.

Lovely clean sand beach - you have to get sun beds from 0800hrs and pay €13 half day or €26 for the day, at peak season they all go quickly. There is a bar selling food and drinks (all heavily marked up!)
Jonathan S — Google review
Really nice beech, clean, a few nice cliff walks in each direction.
Noel G — Google review
A beautiful beach, not very long, but it still captivated me with its atmosphere. To the right and left are cliffs and rocks of various heights and shapes. I like this one the most; you can climb it and continue along the coast to another spot, or another hidden beach. It's something wonderful. I recommend everyone to explore these places thoroughly
Rafal W — Google review
The beach is very nice and calm, prefect for little kids. ! Be careful with the beach bed providers. It's a different price for the first row and even if you go there at 4 pm (as we did), they will charge full price, which is 2 pm onwards. This is a bit unfair, in my opinion.
Enida T — Google review
I used to love this beach... But not anymore. The quality of the sand is getting worse, as sand tends to be added every year and they're probably not adding good quality sand. In addition, some strange leaves are floating on the water (similar to pine tree leaves, not seaweed).

Great little beach. Perfect for families, couples, dog walkers. Beautiful scenery and plenty of nice bars and eateries nearby

Such a brilliant place. Feels like you’re off the beaten path but this beach is well covered with eateries and souvenir shops. Visited in April so my experience is that it wasn’t too busy. Water was a good temperature too!

Village beach close to the bars, restaurants and toilets. There is quite a high tidal change so the beach can be a bit small at v high tide. Well worth a visit.

Atmospheric place to relax. Small but comfortable beach with easy access. Fresh water showers available. Nearby there are many places where you can drink your favorite drinks or eat. Through the hills you can walk along the path to the neighboring large beach Plaia do Barranco das Belharucas, enjoying the beauty of the Atlantic along the way. Lovely beach

A very pretty little beach with a good, if not inexpensive, restaurant right on the waterfront. Free public parking a few hundred meters from the beach make this an ongoing favorite of ours. More authentic and a little less touristy than most other comparable options in the area.

The restaurant O Pássaro Azul is a great place to eat seafood and Mediterranean food. The staff are friendly and the service is good. The food is fresh and delicious, and the wine is also excellent. It can be a little difficult to find, but it's well worth the climb up the steps to get there.
I rate this restaurant very positively, everything excellent. The fresh fish was delicious, the mussels and the salad and potatos were deliciously seasoned. The staff were able to recommend the choice of food, they were very nice, friendly and helpful. The environment is beautiful. An unforgettable gastronomic experience. I definitely recommend visiting this restaurant.

Amazing food, stunning view! We had sea bass, salad, shrimp, and clams—everything was fresh and delicious. Beautiful view, great service, and top quality all around. We had a fantastic time and will definitely return!
Jenkmusic — Google review
The fish is of outstanding quality – truly excellent. Ordering fresh directly from the counter comes at a high price per person, but the quality is undeniable. There are also dishes available from the menu, which are slightly more expensive than elsewhere. However, overall the food feels overpriced. For example, a tiny plate of vegetables costs €4 and only includes a few strips of beans and carrot, while three small potatoes are charged at the same price. Regardless of the view, such inflated prices cannot be justified for very basic ingredients. Thats a big joke.. That said, the location right by the beach and the beautiful view are definite highlights of the experience.

Magic place, magic people, magic fish 🎣 dishes!! Situated right on the Atlantic Ocean the atmosphere is just right and you’ll get awesome service and great food 🍲
Mattias S — Google review
Fantastic spot and lovely staff. Choose the fresh fish instead of salmon or tuna.
Michael B — Google review
We couldn't have asked for a nicer spot to celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary. Beautiful location, engaging staff, topped off with the best fish dinner (ocean perch), that we've ever had. A hidden gem 👏👏
Art C — Google review
This restaurant is all about the setting. We sat by a window, eating nice food and drinking decent wine with the sea lapping below us. The service was efficient and friendly. Theres a decent selection on the menu although it’s definitely a fish restaurant. Our only complaint was that they sold us a dream of an amazing piece of fish for three, and it was probably only just enough for two in reality. That said - the food was beautifully prepared and presented. I played safe and had soup for a starter, and regretted it. Nothing wrong with the soup but the prawns looked amazing and my friends didn’t try to dissuade me that i should have been more adventurous.

O Farnel is a well-regarded steakhouse located in a bustling area, known for its quality steaks and reasonable menu. Despite its unassuming exterior, this family-run establishment offers a good children's menu, ensuring an enjoyable dining experience for all. Visitors have praised the spot-on meat dishes at this small restaurant, emphasizing the excellent value for money. Additionally, it is recommended to make reservations due to its popularity.
We came here for my birthday as seen good reviews online and they weren’t joking! This is 100% the best steaks myself and my partner have ever had! You literally didn’t need to use a knife on the fillet steak it was so tender and the pepper sauce was unbelievable. The best steak hands down! A proper family run steak house! Please go here and see for yourselves, these restaurants need to last!!

Just off the main strip away from the loud restaurants and people standing outside trying to get tourists inside, was this place. Overall it’s a small joint and a very quiet atmosphere. The prices were all very reasonable as well as the portion sizes. All the food was great and the steaks were cooked perfectly. Would highly recommend a visit if you’re in the area. Definitely better than some of the other tourist trap steakhouses near by.

Fabulous fillet steak with garlic prawns and a peppercorn sauce on the side. Big fillet cooked medium rare, which melted like butter in the mouth. Loads of fresh prawns also. Rustic and basic small restaurant, but don't be put off, the standard of produce and chefs ability made this a memorable meal. Excellent price also, in England this would have been £45 plus! We will be back this week for sure.

Doesn't look like much from the outside but this is a gem! Such good quality meat and cooked to perfection. Chips were lovely too. Definitely recommend.

This is a hidden gem. Best steak I've ever had. Top quality food 👌 mouth watering to be exact. Family run. Top quality service. It's worth every cent the price. Can see food being cooked by the grandfather of family. As you can see from pics, I demolished my food.

Beautiful steak. Probably the best we had in albuferia. T bone steak was beautiful, great flavour and quite tender. Partner had fillet, very tender nice flavour. Onion rings were homemade and very nice. Paired with red wine sangria, a great meal overall. Highly recommended

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ For true meat lovers, this place is a top spot! The meat is delicious, and the homemade sauces make every dish extra special. The staff is friendly, and despite being a small team, everything runs smoothly and professionally. We’ve been here twice already and were pleasantly surprised each time. The only downside: there was no “special sauce” or bacon for the XL burger — that would have made it perfect. The waiter also looked remarkably like Timothée Chalamet — a fun little bonus to the whole experience! We’ll definitely be coming back!

Steak house
Manzo Steakhouse is an elegant and romantic spot, perfect for steak enthusiasts. The restaurant's white decor and chandeliers create a sophisticated ambiance. They offer a variety of starters like oysters and tapas, but the real star is their large steaks with delicious sides. Their extensive wine selection ensures a great drink to accompany your meal. Located in Olhos de Agua, it has earned top rankings on Tripadvisor.
We dropped in here one night on a whim as we'd been to one of their sister restaurants and when we walked past we felt like we could enjoy some steak as food looked good. What can I say but "Wow!" the meat was cooked perfectly. The staff were also amazing - funny, friendly, and helpful with suggestions on what to order and what a great wine would go well with our meal. We had a fun delicious night! So if you like steak and wine, I can 100% recommend this place! Can't wait to come back again. Thanks.

Ate here in March for an evening meal with the Mrs’. Was fairly quiet due to it being off season, however, the food was amazing. I cannot express how good all of the steaks were. Perfectly cooked and the staff were wonderful. Would recommend trying the Wagu Beef, although a bit pricey it is well worth it. Please note, if the steak is priced per KG I recommend you ask what size cuts they have before you order. They had a side table for the main table which helps with the extra food we ordered and the wine and water. The dessert was something else as well. A pistachio Mille-feuille. Highly recommend this. All our steaks were cooked medium. To make the whole experience perfect, the staff were truly amazing. Thank you. We will 100% come back the next time we are in Portugal.

We had a wonderful meal here at Manzo! I want to highlight the service from the staff, it was incredible! We came with a small baby and we were well-received and taken care of. We are used to high quality meat where we are from, and we always are a bit skeptical of meat restaurants. I can genuinely say that this place delivers! The new 400g wagyu ribeye from Uruguay had a perfect texture and flavor. Would highly recommend it (medium rare).
Niclas M — Google review
Amazing ! Fantastic service and the best steak I have ever eaten. Starters also very tasty. Was to full for dessert. The staff here are super without being over bearing
Chris F — Google review
Great little spot! The food and wine were excellent. We shared the chateaubriand, baby potatoes, grilled vegetables and a bottle of wine. Portions were great, veggies were delicious. We got 2 sauces for the steak which were both tasty. The staff is very attentive, although at times they would top up the wine glasses with a splash of wine which seems unnecessary. Everything was clean and the chairs are very comfortable!
Stephanderik — Google review
Starter was 5 out of 5 - Wagyu spring rolls off the special board and tiger prawns between two of us The service was generally very good, but they let themselves down a bit in two ways: firstly the other waiting staff were heckling our waiter when he was trying to explain the different steak options. Secondly, they didn’t really explain the different cooking options for different cuts, it was all ‘medium rare’ for everything. We went for Australian wagyu chuck roll steak. It was a bit tough, not outrageously tough, but less tender than I would expect for the money. Asked for it medium and it came medium TBF. Tasted great and the grill leaves a fantastic finish on the outside of the steak. The sides were very nice and cheap, but on the small side, so would recommend at least 5 sides between 2 people. Overall, I feel a little harsh giving only 3/5 but in context, this is a steak restaurant. The price of the steak itself is on par with higher end restaurants in London, so expected much more in terms of quality of end product. I should note at this point, that they had great knowledge of the various meats they sold who ch were all fantastic quality rare, but I had to prompt them to talk about cooking them, which is not a great sign. This place could very easily go from 3/5 to 5/5 with a few tweaks to the cooking of the steak. Take a note from the South American restaurant franchises: all steak from rare to well done, should be cooked in a way that it can be cut with a table knife. I feel I should also reiterate, if this was a ‘normal’ restaurant, not a steak specialist, I would rate it 4/5.
Chris S — Google review
Steak fantastic, sides fantastic, dessert fantastic and service fantastic. Best meal I’ve had here in Portugal I would highly recommend! It’s been a long time since I’ve walked away from a meal feeling this satisfied.

Excellent restaurant! We were 2 adults 2 children and they made us very welcome. Food was exceptional. This is an expensive restaurant but worth it in our opinion as a holiday treat! The service was great really friendly. It would be great to see a children’s steak as we had to order the fillet for our 8yr old as no steak on the kids menu. But honestly the food was fab and enjoyed by us all! Thank you.

A fabulous meal, very reasonably priced for what we had. €108.30 for two starters (scallops and spring rolls), rib-eye steak, sea bass, one dessert, one specialty coffee, some water, and a bottle of blush wine. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. A really nice meal!

In general food here was delicious. Creamy garlic prawns with monkfish was very delicate, full of taste and perfectly made. Duck was soft and medium rare. Only garlic cream soup was little bit too ‘fishy’ for me. It’s hidden in a small cosy street away for the party, but still in centre :)

The Staar is a hidden gem. The food is out of this world. I had the tomahawk and it was by far the best I’ve ever had. We ate here twice during our 10 night stay and I honestly wanted to visit more to try the rest of the menu. We were a party of six and everyone felt the same as me. This was the best restaurant we visited. Thank you to all your staff who made our visit’s so special.

Expensive, but worth every penny. Upscale gastronomy and you still get your fill. No frills. Probably the best tuna tartare of my life and great local cuisine with bacalhau à bras and tender steak. An insider tip in a small alleyway without the tourist crowds one street over.

A hidden gem! We had a fantastic meal here, nicely tucked away, great atmosphere, the staff were brilliant. We didn’t book but were lucky to get the last table so would recommend booking in advance as it was very popular

This was my favorite restaurant in all Albufeira. The food was amazing, all my friends enjoyed their main dish very much and we all agreed that the Chocolate Martini desert is a must-try. We made a reservation online and didn’t have to wait.

Day 2

Northwest side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the northwest side side of town. Start the day off with Praia da Falésia, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Restaurante O Catraio. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Beach
Praia da Falésia is a picturesque beach located in the Algarve region, between Vilamoura and Albufeira. It features stunning red cliffs and golden sands, making it an ideal spot for sunbathing and water activities. The area offers a diverse range of tourism-related activities including a marina, golf courses, a casino, discos, tennis club, diving club, and other leisure facilities. Despite being popular, the beach is spacious enough to find privacy.
This beach is absolutely breathtaking ❤️ The long stretch of golden sand, framed by stunning red and orange cliffs, feels like something out of a postcard. There’s so much space to walk, relax, or just take in the views — especially magical during sunrise or sunset. The contrast of the cliffs, pine trees, and ocean is unforgettable. It’s one of those beaches that makes you stop and say, “Wow, this is paradise.” 🤩
Lilia S — Google review
I loved this place. Such a chilled out beach, when we went it was at 19° c in the water, which is really nice compared to cascais. Both times we were able to go in the water fine and the waves weren’t that aggressive. We also went to that little bar in the picture, price was fairly accessible and the beers were freezing.
Maris S — Google review
The beach is absolutely beautiful, with stunning views of the cliffs. There’s plenty of space, so you won’t have any trouble finding a quiet spot to relax. For me, it’s the perfect place to unwind and soak up the sun. You can also watch surfers riding the waves, which adds to the lively yet peaceful vibe of the place. It’s definitely a spot worth visiting if you’re looking to enjoy some time by the sea in a serene, picturesque setting.

This beach is my favourite I've ever been too. The red cliffs are beautiful. There are lovely surrounding attractions in the evening. Have made many memories here growing up, it will always be a special place for me
Luke D — Google review
Beautiful beach with calm seas. Beach chairs available to rent, but most all were sold out where we were. The further away from the beach chairs the crowd lessens dramatically. It is a long beach about 6km long. There are many access points. We ubered to strandbar alfamar .It got us close then walked along the trails to the beach.
William D — Google review
Very beautiful and spacious beach with a stunning backdrop – lots of impressive rock formations. Of course, it gets much busier during high season, but because it’s so wide and open, there’s still plenty of space for everyone.
Catarina — Google review
Beautiful red rock beach with stunning rock formation. A must-see beach if you’re in Algarve. The beach is super beautiful and sandy. For sun bed, the price is also not pricy, we paid around 10€ per bed for the whole day. For activity, I’d recommend bringing paddle set to play on the beach. There’s also a beach bar where you can get some snacks and drinks. But for snacks, I’d recommend bringing your own for better price.
Sarah N — Google review
Out of the way but worth the trip. Would bring food and drinks with you as only one place to buy which is small but the lack of facilities means less tourists and people which is a plus. Lots of locals which is always a good sign

A perfect Algarve summer spot! ☀️ Praia da Rocha Baixinha is exactly what you dream of for a beach day — soft golden sand, clear waters, and a lively summer vibe. Even in peak season, the atmosphere is relaxed and full of energy. Absolutely one of the must-visit beaches in the Algarve!

From the very first glance, Praia da Rocha Baixinha feels like an open invitation to peace. A long ribbon of soft golden sand, gentle waves touching your feet, and a horizon that seems to stretch endlessly — it’s the kind of place where time slows down and the world feels wide again.

Praia do Barranco das Belharucas is a serene sandy beach with cliffs in the backdrop, offering sunbed rentals, lifeguards, and refreshment vendors. Accessible by car via a dirt road, parking can be limited during peak times. Alternatively, visitors can reach the beach from Falesia Lookout or take an adventurous path from Caminho di Deposito.
Lovely sandy beach, very clean and well kept. Beach runs for several miles up to the port. Well worth a walk at sunset.

One of the most beautiful beaches i have ever been. If you're in Algarve region this is a Must location for mind and soul.
Renata V — Google review
The beach itself is great, the sand is soft for the most part and it's easy to get into. The water is cold, as it's the Atlantic ocean. The waves can be high and the current can be strong, so watch out. The main 2 issues we encountered were: 1- Even though we went during a weekday and arrived early, all the sunbeds were occupied or reserved, there were plenty of sunbeds that were reserved. 2- Would be nice to be able to get drinks/food and possibly service on the beach, there is 1 resort that is doing that, but only for its customers.
Ye — Google review
Amazing sandy beach! You have everything you may need here: parking (the road is not asphalted), a restaurant/bar, toilettes, sun beds&umbrellas (20 EUR in Oct. 2024) and a gorgeous view of the red coastal steep rocks with beautiful pines on top! The perfect Algarvian landscape! 🫶❤️
Veronica C — Google review
The great thing about this beach were the puddles filled with anemones, tiny fish, shrimp and crabs that were speckled on the rocks on low tide. That is all gone. Now it’s just an ok beach. Hard to get to, not that much sand width and a little to steep to get into. Used to be great.
João — Google review
My favourite beach in the area. Moving away from the crowded area at the entrance there was plenty of space to feel peaceful vibes. Toilet facilities are very good, cleaned and refreshed regularly. Continue walking past the wooden steps on the left as you leave and you can walk up the albeit step road out instead, it's much easier on the legs after a day of swimming and lying in the heat. There are not many parking places however when something is carved right out of nature consider it a blessing there are any spaces at all. Compared to Olhos De Agua beach waves are tiny✌️💚🌞
Grá B — Google review
Stunning beach. It’s accessible by foot or you can drive down by car with good parking which is free of charge. There are a couple of restaurants down there. The because have beautiful cliffs with stunning colours of red and white. It’s very picturesque. We visited in April and there weren’t many people down there. It’s great for long walks especially in the morning and early evening. Highly recommended.
Jeremy J — Google review
Amazing beach with stunning cliff, you can arrive by car and parking near the stairs for arrive at the beach. With bus it could be a little bit more complex but if you like walking it could be also great! There is a small bar before the beach on the top of the cliff and also the possibility to rent a sun umbrella, but if you are more adventurous and prefer more privacy I advice to have a little walk on the sand and you can get a blue water and stunning view.

The Restaurant Calheiros Olhos d'Agua offers an exquisite setting, attentive service and delicious food. Started with a shrimp soup which was delicious, the menu options are extensive and include shared entrees of sardines and fish/shrimp kebab served with potatoes & grilled veg plus a side salad. Complimentary port was also offered at the end of our meal which made it even more special.
So happy to see Calheiros still in business 8 years after mine and my late husband's last trip here. Lovely food, great service. One of the staff even parked up my friend's mobility scooter for her. Really enjoyed the trip down memory lane as well.

Amazing meal with the family during our holiday. We stumbled across this beautiful authentic restaurant on a walk from the hotel. It was around 7:30 and empty thought this looks nice. Within 30 mins the place was packed solid with people walking up all the time. Food was absolutely amazing and delicious. Portions were great way too much in some cases but honestly beautiful. The squid was perfect and the chicken kebab not only looked amazing but tasted even better. You eat with your eyes and this place looked and tasted beautiful. Super friendly staff and a wonderful atmosphere. Please if looking for a place to visit make sure this is on the list. You will be extremely happy with the recommendation. Oh and don’t skip desserts you will really regret this mistake if you do. All homemade and delicious See you again guys. 💙

Calheiros is a magnificent place to eat. A wide menu to suit all from fish to steak and pork to chicken. Mostly barbecued. Friendly staff and very reasonably priced. The first time we ate here was 1992 and believe me it’s never been anything other than fantastic.

What a great hidden gem! The food was so good that I had to leave a comment here. We tried the Algarve cataplana (seafood stew) and it didn’t disappoint. My husband doesn’t like seafood and he loved this dish. We also overheard a lot of guests talking and they were returned clients so it just speaks to how well liked this place is. We are in the area for about 4 nights and after trying other restaurants we know that this is the real deal and will return before our last day!
Melanie C — Google review
The favourite dinner of our stay so we had to return on our last night. A bit pricier than others but all the dishes we had were delicious and as for Cidalia serving us, exceptional. Front of house was friendly and welcoming too. We were a group of 8 that arrived the first time without a booking but were made to feel very welcome. We’re not big seafood eaters but really enjoyed the sea bass Algarve style and the garlic prawns. The steaks here, both on the board and Portuguese style were delicious. Everything was. A lovely evening

Nice, clean beach in the old town. There's a decent pier, water sports, beach volleyball, and inflatable obstacle course to enjoy while sunbathing there.

A great sandy beach accessible by an escalator from one side and a lift and staircase from the other. It's very long, so you can walk down to quieter areas of the beach. The sea is a beautiful blue colour and very clean, but not ideal for bodyboarding as there aren't many waves.

We spent New Year’s Eve at Praia dos Pescadores for the incredible drone and fireworks show and wow, what an experience! Hundreds of drones lit up the sky in perfect sync with the music, followed by an amazing fireworks finale over the ocean. The atmosphere was magical, safe, and very family-friendly, even with thousands of people there. Everything felt well organized and relaxed. A few days later, the entire beach was spotless again, huge credit to the city for keeping it so clean. Truly a night to remember!

Restaurante O Catraio is a charming and cozy spot located in the Old Town of Albufeira. The restaurant offers a variety of classic dishes such as fish n chips and spaghetti Bolognaise, as well as locally-sourced seafood options. With ample outdoor seating, guests can enjoy their meals while soaking up the sunshine.
The food was absolutely delicious. We tried cot fish with cream and calaplana. Both dishes were amazing, the flavours were fantastic and intense. The staff was a bit busy and cold to customers on my opinion. But overall the experience was satisfying and pleasant, the balance between price and quality was perfect.
Nastya K — Google review
We thought we would try this restaurant as it had good reviews but it was disappointing. We ordered the pork chops and pork Portuguese style. The pork Portuguese style was flavourful but the pork chops were like leather, really thin and dry and almost impossible to cut into. Let the staff know and they swapped it for chicken breast which was cooked better but the waiter was clearly annoyed by this and it made it an uncomfortable environment. I personally wouldn't recommend this place.
Rachael — Google review
First time in my life i left restaurant hungry. Absolutely disappointed with my lunch today... I had a sole fish and should come with potatoes and vegetables and guess what ? Yes I did get what I ordered but the amount of food..pea size vegetable ( one boiled broccoli, one cauliflower, half of carrots plus one bit of tomato, two potatoes - see pictures) for the price of fish that actually got lots of bones and there wasn't much meat... Service was really friendl. If you are on strickt diet yes you can be sure you won't eat much! After all day on the beach and swimming you need good amount of food for reasonable price.

We had a gorgeous meal here. Seated on the corner with amazing views. It’s mainly a seafood restaurant but as we’re not a big fish eating family we stuck to the steaks and chicken, all of which was great. Atmosphere is incredible. Desserts are amazing.

We ate our lunch here almost every day during our week holiday. The food was really good - a notch above the average beach cafe - and the service was impeccable. I think it was probably the service that made us come back so often. The waiter was very friendly and helpful, and by the middle of the week had remembered our drinks order etc. Highly recommended.

We didn’t take a picture of the food because it was so good we ate it in one bite. We had some snacks: chicken wings, cheeseburger and fries. The sauces were really good too.Overall good experience.

The location is amazing, it's overlooking the beach. They have an indoor area and an outdoor terrace. The service was good despite the place being full. Obviously the place is touristy, hence the prices being higher. The food we had was average, but given the location, it actually was affordable. Cocktails/alcoholic drinks are expensive. Overall if you want to have a beer or a quick bite while you're at this beach, it's probably the best spot that you could go to, but keep in mind the things listed above.

We had a very disappointing experience here. The service was extremely poor, and it felt as if the staff were being selective in who they chose to serve well. We waited 40 minutes just to place our order, and then another 30 minutes to receive the check. Meanwhile, the table right next to us was served much more quickly and with far more attention. The food itself was average, nothing memorable or worth the long wait. Overall, we left feeling frustrated and unwelcome. Definitely not a place I would recommend.

O Duarte is a popular local restaurant in Portugal, particularly bustling after 8pm. It's advisable to make a reservation as it gets packed quickly. Despite the long wait for food due to the busy staff, customers don't mind because of the excellent fish options and reasonably priced dishes like Pork Tenderloin with rice and fries. The cozy atmosphere and exceptional service make it a must-visit spot in Olhos de Agua, Algarve.

Duarte: A Hidden Gem Serving Authentic Portuguese Flavours Discovering Duarte was a true delight! This authentic Portuguese restaurant is a true hidden gem that not only serves delicious food but also provides warm, attentive service that makes you feel right at home. The Duarte team looked after us from the moment we arrived. The service was genuine, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable; they were happy to walk us through the menu and make recommendations. The food? Absolutely outstanding. The freshly baked pastéis de nata were the ideal finishing touch, and the rich and filling caldo verde and the expertly grilled bacalhau (salt cod) were all bursting with flavour and authenticity. Every plate is evidently centred around traditional techniques and high-quality ingredients. Whether you’re already a fan of Portuguese cuisine or discovering it for the first time, Duarte is a must-visit. It’s rare to find a place that nails both the food and the experience so well. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

We planned to go to a different restaurant but it was closed so ended up trying out this one. We immediately got a seat as it wasn’t busy. We ordered a sangria spumante and the monk fish cataplana. The sangria tasted a bit artificial but still very good. The monk fish cataplana was delicious. By the time we left there was no seat left. We heard a lot of portugese which is always a good sign. We would definitely eat there again!

So we spent a week eating out in the area. Unfortunately for us we found this on our last day. The service was brilliant and food very good. We are fussy eaters too. Let's finish this off by saying that when we were there we recognised owners or employees of other establishments eating there! Don't waste your time looking around. My only regret is that we didn't visit sooner.

Portas Da Villa Antiquity Bar is a cozy and quirky establishment with a unique decor that includes seashells adorning the walls and ceilings, along with vintage tools, family photos, and traditional fishing town elements. Located near Albufeira's main beaches, this rustic bar offers a range of drinks including cocktails, spirits, and local favorite beers like Super Bock on tap.
Unusual bar . Unique decorated with thousands of shells . talked to the owner. His brother got the place in 1981 . spent 4 years collecting shells . Then, it was decorated outside and then inside. Good service 👍
Brian C — Google review
This bar is very cool, upon passing by it the first time I looked up the history of the hand collected shells and decided to go the next day for a drink. Wow what a beautiful and unique bar! The bartenders were skilled and made me a delicious ginja sour. I do find that the TV and bar merchandise such as tshirts and magnets ruin the “vibe” a bit but still worth it to pop in for a drink. Thank you for the hospitality ❤️

We were staying just up the street from here and visited quite a few times. Family run and the guys were great. Really friendly and a good laugh. That’s why you go back to these places. The decor is stunning and was all done by them. It’s not a big place but has a great atmosphere in the evenings, great place for a cocktail. Would go back again.

From the moment I walked in, I felt completely at home. This bar is not only beautiful in design but also in spirit. The atmosphere is warm, stylish, and full of soul — a true hidden gem. What really sets it apart, though, are the incredible people behind it. The staff are genuinely kind, attentive, and you can tell it’s a proud family-run business with a heartfelt story. There’s something truly special about this place — it’s unique, full of charm, and easily the best bar in town. I had such a great time that I’m already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an unforgettable evening!

A wonderful little pub tucked away from the main streets of old town. The interior is made up of vintage items and traditional fishing town decor including hundreds of seashells around the bar and ceiling and exterior. Super Bock is the main beer with lots of spirits. No food capabilities, drinks only. Outside seating available for the warmer months. Very pleasant device and average prices for old town.

Loved this place. The staff were friendly and welcoming. They have a wide variety of spirits, wine and cocktails and superbock beer. It's the first bar I have been to that has given us some peanuts to go with our drinks. It must have taken them a long time to decorate this place with all the sea shells it has on the walls and ceiling. You have to pay this amazing bar a visit

Sushi restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant Old Town of Albufeira, Tiger Street Sushi is a delightful escape from the bustling tourist scene. Located on Rua Candido dos Reis, this charming eatery stands out among the typical sports bars and souvenir shops. With its clean ambiance and friendly staff, it offers a warm welcome to all diners. The menu is conveniently displayed on tablets with enticing photos that accurately represent each dish, ensuring your meal looks as good as it tastes.
Staff lovely and very accommodating. I’m not a big fan of fish but made me chicken sushi out of the menu to accommodate me. It was beautiful. My friend loved her food too especially the salmon.
Ciar R — Google review
The sushi was incredibly fresh, with each piece crafted beautifully and bursting with flavor. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed dinner. Friendly staff and quick service made the whole experience even better.

Really good sushi! We also ordered some starters, which were very tasty. The sushi selection is a bit limited and somewhat different from what we usually expect, but everything we tried was delicious. We arrived quite early, before 18:00, so we didn't have to wait; however, the place doesn’t have many seats, so it likely fills up quickly. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but considering the quality, it's still reasonable. Overall, a great dining experience worth trying.

Absolutely incredible food, great service too. A breath of fresh air not to have someone trying to entice you in, and then the food was exceptional. Sushi prepared so well, noodle dishes cooked and spiced to perfection!

So in my time of being over in Albufeira , Portugal we had eaten at a few spots and Tiger Sushi was hands down the best , we had eaten there twice my partner and I , i highly recommended going there as the food was absolutely gorgeous and the service was amazing too , we had even got testers before being seated which nowadays is uncommon for restaurants to do , we had got a a selection of items off the menu including california rolls (8pcs) , ebi rolls (8pcs) and a platter of sushi with a whopping 40 pieces of sushi so all together there was 56 pieces of sushi , i also found that the platter was easily shared between 2 people we had also got 2 cokes and 2 waters ,this cost us only 77 euros for the whole meal considering it would of easily fed 3 people , the staff was lovely even including the chefs all spoke and were very kind, if i was going back i would one hundred percent go back to tiger sushi and i recommend everyone else go there too

A little gem of a restaurant in an otherwise rowdy street and town. The sushi is absolutely delicious. We were tempted by the free samples outside and didn’t regret going in. We ordered the deep fried and flambé platter each. The flavours and textures were delicious! Staff are friendly and the food is served quickly. They really want to make sure you’re happy with your food. Highly recommended.

Amazing, fresh and tasty sushi! We shared the XL platter and a few other delights. Every single piece was so delicious. The owner was very warm & friendly and helped us choose from the menu. The restaurant is absolutely spotless, so clean and modern. Oh and the wine was very nice too.. sometimes it can be hit/miss in japanese or sushi restaurants. Highly recommend 👌

Warm, welcoming, friendly staff! Menu is on a tablet. All items on the menu have photos. The food arrives looking exactly as pictured! The service was fast and the food delicious!! The sushi was fresh! And, there was a wide variety of options for sushi, appetizers, noodle dishes, and even a kids menu. My drink filled the glass … well over the „pour line.“ The owner comes out to check each plate and customer. When she realized I liked ginger, I was immediately offered a second plate! I wish I could take them back home with me! Simply fabulous!!

For day 3, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Parque aventura. Not quite as popular as Vilamoura, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 7 hours.

Praia Maria Luísa is a beautiful sandy beach located in the southern Algarve, easily accessible from the resort town of Olhos de Agua. Despite its seemingly secluded location, it can get quite busy due to the nearby Club Med da Balaia resort. The beach offers amenities such as umbrellas, sun loungers, and water sports equipment for hire. Visitors can also enjoy traditional dishes at the beachside restaurant with a shaded terrace.
Nice small sandy beach with water spots facilities and beach bar / restaurant. You will need to have swimming shoes though as further into the water is a lot of little stones and it's hard to walk with bare feet.
Jerry N — Google review
Nice Sandy Beach that's good to walk, swim, lounge on. There's a post which is solid rock to walk on that's less visited and lovely. There's a club med neighboring the beach. I found parking too the right of the club med, you can also drive your car al the way down the narrow landed road and grab one of the approximately 5-10 spots (depends if people park vertically to the fence or parallel as to how many spots are there). Also some parking next to the snack bar, /restaurant.

Beautiful beach, not crowded at the beginning of July. Limited parking opportunities. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

A genuinely beautiful beach with amazing sand and crisp blue water. There are areas to lay with a towel and umbrella but there are also loungers to rent which are €20 per set of 2. The locals who look after the beach are lovely. Its also nice to walk up and down to see the cliffs, coves and rock formations. Would have to be one of the best we've visited here!

Looks like a lovely sandy beach from afar but the water line is very stoney and uncomfortable. It's a remote enough beach though so good for if you just wanted to lie out and enjoy the sun and sound of the sea

Lovely beach, much quieter than neighbouring beaches. Good cafe/restaurant on the beach. It's quite a steep descent down the cobbled path to the beach, but worthwhile.

What a lovely place 🌟 the kids 9 and 13 years old really enjoyed it, they went through all the levels, with an impressive diversity of passages and zip wires. They had a quick induction about how to use the equipment and received help when they got stuck, congratulations to the amazing, friendly personnel 🌟 We'll definitely come back to another great, exciting adventure 🌟

Best activity of our whole vacation! Even we weren't able to do all tours, because my kid wasn't big enough, we had fun all day. The Adventure tour is pretty varied with nets, bridges and zip lines. My kid was in the trees for hours and we always felt safe with the equipment and the very friendly staff, that were all around the park to watch the climbers.
Knakki F — Google review
We had so much fun! 3 adults, 1 teenager (15) and a little one (5 years old) that loves to climb. You can redo the parkour as much as you want! The staff is very nice and they take pictures that you can buy for a decent price. Would 100% recommend :) A must do in Algarve 🥰

This was amazing! The staff here were excellent - they showed us the 'ropes' and were with us every step of the way! They were really friendly and helpful and gave us lots of hints and tips. We were given a time slot so there weren't loads of people there at the same time and they gave us loads of time also! It was great fun hearing people shouting as they flew through the trees! There were staff members there taking fabulous photos also and we bought them at the end - they sent us a link which we got the following day - couldn't fault the experience from beginning to end. There were three of us aged between 8 and 64 and we were all pushed and challenged and had loads of laughs. Thank you Parque Aventura - we will be back next year!!

Nice park for kids and adults alike. I would recommend getting there by the opening hour as you can easily spend 3-4 hrs there passing rope tracks one after another. On the day that we visited the park wasn't very crowded. The monitors are attentive, polite, always available to help, and speak very good English. There are some tables available in case you decide to take a break and have a snack. Restrooms are available on-site.
Maria K — Google review
The Staff here are excellent! Very supportive and patient. Especially with my kids. Everything installed is well maintained and secure. The instruction is great because the staff do try their best to explain in English for my girls even though I’m Canadian of Portuguese decent. Unfortunately for me, almost two weeks ago from this post, I made mistake at the end of the video because I tried to keep my right hand on the top of the zipline attachment. It was recommended that I use the rope but I built a bad habit as the line on the beginning of the red zone is below the waist. I should have watched my first born daughter do it as she went first. 🤦‍♂️ anyways, I wasn’t on the line long, but the friction burnt through my breathable shirt and the skin under my arm. I recovered back to the platform, showed them the wound. They recommended I get it treated. It’s a good thing we both had first aid kits. After they cleaned it off with Saline, I applied my polysporin and then after they applied Bonafine (an amazing healing cream for friction burns) and it felt so relieving. They helped me dress the wound and I placed a small cooler pack to minimize inflammation. It’s been two since, using HALIBUT cream for these kinds of skin burns and it’s 90% healed. Thanks to the team at Park Aventura my kids had a great time and we didn’t have to cut the kids fun short!

My wife and I were here with our two daughters and we had a fantastic time! We did all five courses in about three hours and it was really good value for money. Each of the courses was very well-designed and laid out, and most of them were in the shades! Staff were all very friendly and helpful. We loved it so much that we came again on our last day of the holiday. It’s definitely one of the highlights of our summer vacation in Algarve!!

O Assador is a hidden gem that offers high-quality charcoal-grilled meat and fish. The portions are generous, accompanied by fresh vegetables and homemade fries. The service is exceptional, and the prices are reasonable. Customers praise the delicious cheesy garlic bread, seabass, swordfish, chicken and prawn kebab, lamb chops, sirloin steaks, and pizzas. The restaurant provides a good selection of dishes with well-presented hot food.
This restaurant is very underrated! Mostly people walk by, that is a real pity. The fresh charcoal grilled meat and fish is of a very good quality. The portions are really good and served with fresh cooked vegetables and home made frites ( potato chips ). Service is superb and prices are more than fair!! It's a place to sit and enjoy good food and drinks ! We comeback every single time we're in the area.

What i would say is the value to be had in this place is extremely good with fixed menus for €11 or €15 options for 3 courses and a drink which in our case was half a carafe of wine each 🍷. Traditional food throughout and healthy portions too.

Just before Christmas so quiet and not many tables taken. Waiter courteous and helpful. Good menu to choose from. Food was served hot and well presented. Personal preference didn’t like the chips much but overall very enjoyable. The bill is quite reasonable for two people.

Copos & Petiscos is a restaurant that offers a modern take on traditional Portuguese cuisine. One of their standout dishes is the Francesinha, which features well-balanced sauce and layers of flavor. The restaurant only accepts cash, but the accommodating service and delicious food make it worth a visit. Despite initially planning to dine elsewhere, visitors were persuaded to try Copos & Petiscos and were pleasantly surprised by the exceptional dining experience.
One of the most incredible meals on our trip! Taxi from old town was €5 meal total was less than €80 for 2 people and each dish was outstanding! I have no words, staff were incredible, summer chefs special dessert was spectacular one of the best eating experiences I have had in the Algarve! Shrimp and clams and the flaming chorizo were stand out! The flaming is not a gimmick, adds incredible smoky flavour

We were very keen to find somewhere authentically Portuguese. Copos & Petiscos is absolutely that place and so much more. It feels like you’ve been invited to the table of a local family who are allowing you to eat all of their secret recipes, which are all absolutely delicious. Do not and I repeat do not miss out on the meat sandwich. In fact don’t miss out on any of it. Lovely people, lovely food and lovely atmosphere.

Authentic tapas experience and everyone should definitely go for it! If you’re going there as a couple, go for “fartas” (Highly recommend it!) on their menu and we had rosé sangria (a must try!) And their servers are very friendly ☺️

This was one of our favourite restaurants. We probably ordered too many dishes but the waiter did recommend what he thought was suitable but we were just curious to try them. I think if you have younger and picky eaters maybe not the most ideal menu but for anyone adventurous, I would certainly recommend as a must visit restaurant. You get to grill the chorizo at the table which was interesting. If we had more days, we would have returned to try different dishes and repeat others. I don't have any dish I wouldn't recommend from the ones we chose. Please go and visit and enjoy. Bon appetit Pictures coming soon. Maps won't let me post

I thought I had left a review last year because our first visit was phenomenal — but apparently I forgot. We came back this year, and it was just as good… maybe even slightly better, if that’s possible. The food is absolutely delicious and the service is excellent: friendly, attentive, and perfectly paced. They keep things moving and everyone served, but never make you feel rushed — exactly what you want for a meal. The black pig cheeks are unreal — we each had one and then couldn’t resist ordering another to share. The codfish balls were so good we ended up ordering extras too. We may have overeaten, but it was impossible not to! Can’t wait to come back again next year!!!

We visited Copos & Petiscos in October 2025. This is with no doubt Albufeira’s best restaurant! We were served delicious tapas made from traditional Portuguese dishes. Everything was presented with perfect timing and beautifully arranged. The service was attentive, charming, and very accommodating. Prices much less than expected for this level of gastronomy. Highly recommended, especially for those looking to escape the typical tourist traps for a while.

Elevador do Peneco is a remarkable concrete elevator perched on a cliffside, offering an effortless way to access the stunning Peneco Beach from the main town of Albufeira. Instead of navigating numerous steps with your beach gear, you can hop on this modern lift that stands 28 meters above the sandy shores.
A Lift with a Breathtaking View, The Elevador do Peneco is far more than just a convenient way to get from the upper town down to the beach; it's an experience with a stunning payoff. We visited in the evening and were thoroughly impressed. The elevator itself was perfectly clean and worked flawlessly, offering a smooth ride. The true magic, however, is the panoramic view from the top. We arrived around 7:30 PM, with the sunset expected around 8:20 PM, and the lighting was absolutely spectacular. The contrast between the brilliant sunshine, the distant orange glows on the horizon, and the growing shadow of the cliff face created a truly memorable and picturesque scene. It's the perfect time for photos and to simply soak in the beauty of the Albufeira coastline. For those in love, there’s a special touch here. The wiring and fences at the top have become a place for couples to leave padlocks as a romantic gesture. If you're visiting with a partner, consider bringing your own lock to leave a small part of your energy in this beautiful place. Highly recommended for the convenience, the cleanliness, and most of all, the unforgettable pre-sunset views!
Frank F — Google review
Like so many things in Portugal this elevator was out of order early January 2025 so it was climbing the stairs from the beach to the top. Once on the top you have a good look at the beach below and you can see a string of love locks attached to steel wires. Before you go up you could follow a short path along the rocks to be closer to the waves.
Seimen B — Google review
Here offers great vantage point to take in the whole of the beach at once and peneco rock, with the choice of an elevator or a staircase with many flights.. Don’t look down if you are not good with heights as you can see through the gaps between stairs.
LM — Google review
The elevator wasn't working when we visited so had to walk down steps to beach which my wife wasn't happy about 😂
Dave S — Google review
Good idea to build an elevator at this point so that people who do not like to take the steps from the beach to the upper town can use this short cut.
Robert J — Google review
Nice fun thing to do while visiting the beach and town. Gratis, clean, fast (<1min), trip up to town level. Get a photo and continue exploring the old town.

Restaurante os arcos is a popular dining spot in Albufeira Old Town, offering traditional Portuguese cuisine in a cozy and relaxed setting. Tucked away on a quaint side street, it provides an authentic dining experience with excellent seafood and meat options. Visitors praise the warm service and enjoyable atmosphere, making it a favorite among those exploring the Algarve region.
Right in the centre of town, a lovely traditional restaurant with a roof terrace. We booked a table for my 50th birthday. Incredible Portuguese food, the friendliest staff, and good value. A must try if you fancy an authentic Portuguese meal on your hols.

Great atmosphere, nice food, my only disappointment was the steak was over cooked to how I asked for it. I had the fillet steak Portuguese style and I asked for medium rare. There was little to zero pink in the meat. The salmon was a very generous portion and tasty. The mushroom starter was delicious. The wine was good and the sangria as one of the best we had in Albufeira. Overall a nice experience and reasonably priced

It was so amazing! Around here there’s a lot of touristy restaurants, but me, myself prefer more local and traditional restaurants. I can definitely say that this restaurant met my expectations, from an amazing chicken stroganoff to juicy and tender t-bone stakes. The service and atmosphere where both incredible and it felt so cozy with the faint-traditional music to the comfort food. Its definitely a hidden gem compared to the other restaurant around here. Totally recommend!☺️

I had the calamari here and I have to admit, it was okay, but I prefer it breaded. The service was very friendly, the location was great, and the prices were reasonable. The place is Portuguese-style and not too loud, making conversation difficult. Overall, I recommend it.

Great little cafe nice selection for all. Everything is vegan and made fresh to order so takes a little bit longer but worth the wait. Vegan burger with sweet potato fries really nice it was beyond meat. And Oreo pancakes with strawberry and mango ice cream (banana flavour in the pancakes) tried the strawberry lemonade too really fresh and limey. The friendly gentleman who served us made the experience even better. The food was impressive, especially our healthy goodness meals, the flat white was tasty. It's a fantastic choice for vegan lovers, offering a variety of delicious options. Overall, it's a lovely little place to unwind, only problem the seating outside is very limited. What we ordered: Fresh Orange Juice Flat White Yogurt Brekkie Jar - (Vegan Yogurt, with jam, fruit fruit & granola). Acai Bowl - (With Acai, bananas, raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, granola & chia).

One of the best vegan burgers we have ever had! Highly recommend this cute little vegan cafe/restaurant. Great service and the food tasted incredibly fresh. We ended coming back again because the food was so good. Waited a little longer for our order the second time as it was a little busy but very much worth the wait. Recommend the Sriracha Burger or the Sugar rabbit burger. They had some great baked sweet treats inside too!

Excellent food all around. Vegan has never tasted this good, and this is coming from someone who does not enjoy vegan. We are here for a few days in Albufeira and have come here 2 times in 2 days - I will be going back every single day until I leave. So far, we have had the spicy burger, the açai bowl, lasagna, no-tella pancake, overnight oats, and various drinks. Everything was sooo goooodddd 🤤

Went to “sugar rabbit” in Alberfuria THIS EVENING found it last year by chance It’s vegan and absolutely delicious a tiny intimate restaurant up in the windy street of the old town towards the marina We are not vegans, but it’s the best burger we’ve ever tasted - all the desserts are sugar-free and healthy too Richard and Liza are hard-working and are a amazing couple they deserve everything and more thank you - Susie & Ste x

This little café quickly became one of my favorite stops on my morning walks in Albufeira. Conveniently located in the Old Town as you head toward the Marina, it’s right on the path of my daily trek from Praia de Oura to the Marina. By the time I reach it, I’m ready for a pause, and the wonderful aroma of freshly baked brownies, cakes, and pastries is impossible to resist. The coffee here is outstanding — they serve Illy, one of my favorite Italian brands, and every cup is consistently rich, creamy, and full of flavor. It’s the perfect energy boost, and for me, Illy is always a mark of quality. As for the sweets, I instantly fell in love with the decadent brownies and the indulgent chocolate cake. Beyond that, the menu also includes a great selection of vegan and gluten-free options — from colorful smoothie bowls to fresh juices — which makes it a versatile stop whether you’re after a treat or something lighter. The café itself is small but inviting, with a handful of tables on the terrace outside, ideal for people-watching, and additional seating inside. It’s not overly large, but the atmosphere is warm and never feels cramped. All in all, Sugar Rabbit Kaffé is a true gem in Albufeira. Whether you’re passing by on a morning walk, craving an excellent cup of Illy coffee, or looking to indulge in something sweet, it’s well worth the stop.

Restaurant
Indian Cuisine is a charming and welcoming restaurant that offers indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is diverse, catering to various tastes, and features daily specials and desserts. The staff are friendly and accommodating, ensuring a pleasant dining experience for all guests. While the restaurant has undergone a change in ownership, it now offers a delightful Brazilian-themed menu with gluten-free options. Visitors can expect excellent value for money with options for children as well.
Lovely restaurant you can sit inside or outside we sat outside as we had 2 little doggies and the weather was nice at the time. They have a nice menu something for everyone and they have a difference special and desert everyday the staff are very nice. 10 out of 10

Good value for money. Not the best quality of food but three course meal for 12.50 euros so can’t complain!
Koko R — Google review
We have been waiting for nearly 3 hours for the food to come. We are group of 9 with three kids. When the burger comes, it is half cooked. When we walked in, table are available but needs two more chairs, 7 of us seated, me and my husband were asked to wait when we tried to get chairs ourselves, so trying to be polite, we stood there for 15 mins, half an hour later, if not more, we finally could order our drinks, drinks came another 15 mins, it was nightmare…..food not impressive, saw a few complains from other tables for food not coming after 2/3 hours…..restaurant was only 70 % occupied if not less…..should have just paid for the drink and left, waste of time. It is my first time to leave review for a restaurant.

Superb...tasty food, reasonably priced. Attentive and friendly staff without being in your face...excellent balance. Place was busy but we were still accommodated. We (partner and myself) had the set menu with an additional bottle of water which came to a total €27.10 ....excellent value for money. Well done 😁

We all had the legendary steak with cream mushroom sauce the steak was cooked to perfection and the taste was just devine. The starters were all great too. Even a tuna salad was amazing and the prawn cocktail was loaded with prawns. Beautiful deserts and the staff were friendly and attentive. Really enjoyed the evening. Can't wait to go again

Dont set foot at this restaurant. Pictures are completely deceiving. Order mixed barbecue for 13 euros what I got was 2 burnt wings 1 RIB bone, not 3 or 4... 1!! And a sausage. Rice was tasteless clearly made in a rice cooker with sprinkled dried salsa. Ordered gratinated fries, no taste of cheese just cream and potatoes weren't cooked. Forget this place walk 1 more minute and you find better places.
Ricardo A — Google review
Excellent service. It's a small menu however WOW.The food is amazing and excellently priced. A three course meal for two including four large beers was €58. One of the best places.

Day 5

Keep it simple
For day 5, these 4 places should be enough to fill your day with something exciting to do in Olhos de Agua. Start the day with Praia do Poço Velho and make your way through the city to get to Vilamoura. This should take about 8 hours of your day.

Public beach
Praia do Poço Velho is a stunning public beach in Algarve that offers breathtaking views, even during the offseason. It is definitely worth a visit and is particularly beautiful in the early mornings with its pristine white sand. However, it seems to be popular among people who struggle to control their larger dogs. Despite this, it remains a must-see destination for anyone visiting Algarve.
The most stunning beach especially when all the crowds are gone in December. A beautiful beach walk, calm sea, perfect sandy beach, an exceptional walk with the sun shining.
Rochelle ( — Google review
This is the best beach around. I have been coming here for the past 15 years and today I found this at the entrance to the access. Years ago when they put the the gate and locked the entrance with this same sign. But it soon was reopened as beaches are public. If there is access, like the stairs that go down, public access must allowed. Not sure how long this will remain closed - it happened today. Curious to know if it is private property now, where the public access will be.

Stunning. This is masterpiece. Walking along this beach with such beautiful scenery was one of the highlights of our holiday. I have about a hundred photos from there, some even in 3D, but unfortunately they cannot be uploaded here.
Radim L — Google review
Great long beach with a lovely backdrop, very picturesque and the sand is good to walk on, but the sea is quite refreshing 🥶
Kevin T — Google review
Excellent beach and very clean. We walked in the morning all the way to Vilamora, you are not able to do this later in the day because of the sea. There are bars along the beach some belonging to hotels but still able to get drinks. This was one of the best beaches we visited in the Algarve.
Matthew P — Google review
Really nice beach with some great views, even lovely off season. Definitely worth a visit. Sadly seems to be fairly popular with people with much larger dogs than they can control.

Golf course
Pine Cliffs Golf Course, also known as the Old Course, is a renowned destination for golf enthusiasts in Algarve. This Par-73 course, surrounded by pine trees, exudes an English-style charm and has been a prominent fixture since 1969. Hole #4 presents an opportunity for a Hole In One, while hole #9 poses a significant challenge. The nine-hole course caters to players of all levels and offers stunning ocean views.
Lovely course in beautiful area. Trolleys included in the price which was great. Hole 6 devils parlour was great fun! If you’re planning on visiting here just for golf book your taxi back before you get there as the wifi is for guests who are staying only so was very difficult to get back. Other than this it is certainly worth a visit!
Matt B — Google review
Fun little course, for a quick relaxing round. This feels like a course to go on holiday with kids, but definitely not a championship course. Mostly only short par 4s Felt really overpriced, well looked after though
Charles G — Google review
A really beautiful place — the whole area is very pleasant and scenic. The course has only 9 holes, but the atmosphere is fantastic. The course is not so challenging, but it really is interesting to play. You can play 2 rounds of 9 holes (which is what we did). The hole located by the cliff offers a stunning view — it’s worth visiting the course just for that! The course tends to get quite busy, so I recommend booking in advance, especially during the high season. Overall, a lovely experience and definitely a place worth playing.
Wojciech T — Google review
Great golf course! And hole 6 is the best of the white tee box. I do find the golf course a bit too small and the greens are pretty small as well! But overall it’s pretty good.
Samir B — Google review
We had a great experience at this course. Just need to be aware of there golf shoe code before you go.
James R — Google review
Great course, well maintained grounds. Facilities and rental clubs a good. Highly recommend.
Daire N — Google review
Lovely course, well maintained hats off to the green keepers, well recommended, although doing the 18 on foot in 34° was challenging, no buggies to hire, decent warm up area shame the range doesn't allowed driver, but overall definitely be back.
Sam L — Google review
Pine Cliffs is a fantastic resort with a 9 holes golf course. The location is wonderfull with a great garden closed to the cliffs with a elevator for beach access. We were a bit disappointing this time with the golf course: not so nice, dry around the greens... The golf practice mat is very damaged and that's not permit to make a relevant training. That's not fair especially for the green fees prices which are high for a 9 holes golf course.

Stretching for nearly 6 kilometers, this beach boasts stunning red and orange sandstone formations that beautifully contrast with the soft golden sands and the inviting azure waters of the Atlantic Ocean. (Translated by Google) It's a beautiful place and well worth a visit. Access to the beach is via stairs, so it's not very accessible for those with reduced mobility. But the view from the top is already stunning. (Original) Local lindo e vale a pena a visita. Para descer até a praia tem acesso por escada, por isso não é tão acessível pra quem tem mobilidade reduzida. Mas na parte de cima a vista já é linda.

Taste of Punjab is an Indian restaurant with delicious food that is more than fair in price. The authenticity of the dishes makes it a favorite among diners. The food was so good, that it became one of the favorites on the menu. If you are looking for a true taste of India, then Taste of Punjab should definitely be at the top of your list!
This is an amazing Indian Restaurant. For many years i visited a lot of them. But this one is the best, without any doubt. The curry's are amazing. I have been 3x there in one week, and every time it was wonderful with a lovely taste. Today was the max. Goan Prawn Curry...oh dear. DELICIOUS.

This was the best experience with Indian food we’ve ever had! Everything tasted incredibly delicious and fresh. The service was wonderfully attentive and even brought extra cucumbers for our baby so that they could be part of the meal as well. A clear recommendation for anyone who loves Indian cuisine!

Dined here three times during our stay in Açoteias. Excellent food on every occasion which is clearly cooked freshly to order. Every dish we had was very tasty and authentic. Friendly service from the owner himself and his front of house waitress. Very reasonable prices making it excellent value for money. We didn’t need to book in advance but did note that the restaurant was popular and pretty much full on two of the occasions we visited. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Recommended and we will definitely return when we come back to the area.

Outstanding authentic Indian food!!! We went there 3 nights in a row (not kidding), the curries and crispy naan out of the tandoori oven are amazing, authentic and fresh, you can have the curries spicy or medium or medium plus. The owner and staff are very friendly. :) Ps. Mango Lassi and coconut lassi are also delicious!

We were a party of 4 on a breezy Saturday and was pleasantly surprised by how fantastic the food was. Taste , presentation and amount was spot on. Highly recommended from the family. The service started off a little awkward but I think that was probably a slight language barrier. but a different person served us after the initial order and it was much better. Really good food!
Michael V — Google review
Fantastic authentic Indian cuisine, we were seated by a waitress & she explained that the wait for food would be a while as they had a large table that had not long arrived, which wasn't a problem as we enjoyed a drink after taking our order. Soon after our food arrived, we ordered onion bahjee & vegetable samosa to start which both came piping hot. In the meantime time another large table arrived, but didn't have to wait too long before our main courses came out...chicken tikka bhuna, garlic chilli chicken, pilau rice & garlic naan all beautifully cooked & very tasty....I would very much recommend this restaurant & will definitely be coming back next time we're over !

Fine dining restaurant
Mediterranean restaurant
Al Quimia, situated near the coastal town of Vilamoura and part of Sana Hotel, offers a creative and delicate cuisine that highlights the freshness of sea catches and authentic local ingredients from Algarve. The restaurant presents an inspired seasonal farm-to-table tasting menu with a modern twist by Executive Chef Luis Mourao. Additionally, pastry Chef Tiago Nunes contributes decadent creations while Sommelier Hugo Ribeiro curates an impressive Portuguese wine menu.
My wife and I went here for our wedding anniversary and the food was amazing. We had the set tasting menu with wine pairings. Very unique distinct flavours with a story behind them about the chef's experiences and the local cuisine matched wonderfully with great local wines. I was impressed with how much you could taste the freshness, distinct flavours and how good the wines were. Certainly was fine dining, expensive yes, but for a special occasion we had a fantastic night. Service was friendly, attentive, helpful and entertaining too. It felt like we were hosted at their home! Thanks for a great experience.

What can I say? It will hardly get any better than this. At a price though, but worth it once in a while. It was my second time here. I tried to get a table during the F1 race, but then it was fully booked (it happened to be my birthday...) I have not tried any restaurants with Michelin Stars in the Algarve, but I doubt that they will be any better. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Peter R — Google review
This Michelin rated restaurant should be a Michelin star restaurant. The overall experience with service, the courses, the food and the presentation are outstanding. The price of the fixed course menu is quite reasonable for the quality you are receiving. The pork and the beef course were especially fantastic.
David C — Google review
Lovely place, excellent food and super friendly staff! You can choose from a fish, meat or veggie inspired menu. We took the meat menu, which had about 7 dishes. Each one was very fine dining, our compliments to the chefs for their amazing work. Equal compliments to the super friendly staff, that made it an amazing service. Fantastic wines also! Would highly recommend, and would be surprised if Al Quimia does not get a Michelin star soon. Easy 5 stars!
Nick M — Google review
Restaurant is beautiful and service was impeccable. All dishes were served by two waiters at a time, our drinks were constantly filled and the staff was attentive and kind. We had the Earth menu which was meats, some dishes were very nice but most were overly complicated and not nice at all, there was very little meat in them all and the meal took almost 3 hours as there were so many courses. really wished the food was as delicious as the service was good!
Ronelle L — Google review
This is in the top 3 meals I’ve ever had. Top notch service, while somehow being completely unpretentious. The food is unbelievable - inventive, rich, differentiated. The wine pleased this hard to please couple! Unreal experience. Will recommend to anyone who wants a quality meal and understands good service.
Valerie A — Google review
Such a wonderful experience, from the moment we stepped into the restaurant. The staff made the meal a memorable experience, the food was truly amazing. Each dish was a piece of art, with intricate flavors complimenting each other, surprising and delighting your tastebuds. The visual was almost as good as the taste…wow factor for sure. I highly recommend the experience, you will not be disappointed .
Sharon T — Google review
We dined at this restaurant last night and me and my friend can both agree it was one of if not the best dining experience we’ve ever had from start to finish the staff were incredibly knowledgeable and attentive and we loved how they showed their personalities a bit. Of course a massive thankyou to the chefs as well watching them cook and prepare the food only added to the amazing experience 10/10 would highly recommend.
