An absolutely wonderful venue in the heart of Witney, the staff are friendly and greet all that come in with open arms and warm smiles. An absolutely wonderful selection of hand pump ales and ciders, an impressive collection of high quality spirits and mixers with a beautiful and well designed interior lay out to make a cozy and welcoming pub. 10/10 would definitely recommend to anyone thats going past

Great food! And very reasonable prices. The chef obviously takes pride in what he does. The flat iron steak was the tastiest we’ve had in a long time. The staff working was very lovely as well, even though he was working on his own he did a great job buzzing around doing everything serving at the bar, running food, cleaning up, coffees - all sort. Really good experience all round.

Absolutely fantastic. This is only our second time here after stumbling upon the place a week ago for breakfast, this time lunch. I wouldn't normally venture inside a town centre pub, and from the outside here isn't any different. But I am so glad we found this place!!! Food is fantastic! Service is second to none! And atmosphere in the far side eating area is just awesome! We will certainly stop off here again when we're in the area. Full marks from me, something that rarely happens.

We booked a table for 14 people on Sunday evening. There was no roasts left and the remaining menu was very limited. There was not enough fish and chips for those who ordered them and the flat iron steak left my grandson still hungry. The service was very good and friendly.

We had the absolute pleasure of visiting Ye Old Cross Keys, and it’s safe to say this gem of a pub exceeded every expectation. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, authentic, and quintessentially English, the kind of place that makes you instantly feel at home. The star of the evening, without a doubt, was Bex, the bartender. She is nothing short of brilliant: friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell she takes pride in making sure every guest feels looked after, and her energy brings so much life to the pub. She’s the sort of person who turns a good night into a great one. As for the food, it was exactly what you hope for when you come to a traditional English pub. The fish and chips were golden, crisp, and perfectly cooked, with flaky fish inside and that satisfying crunch on the outside, served with proper chips that tasted like comfort on a plate. The pie and mash was equally outstanding: hearty, rich, and bursting with flavour, with a buttery pastry crust that sealed the deal. Both dishes felt homemade in the best possible way, cooked with care and love. All in all, Ye Old Cross Keys is everything a pub should be: excellent food, a warm and authentic atmosphere, and above all, staff who make the experience unforgettable. If you’re lucky enough to have Bex behind the bar, you’re in for an exceptional time. We’ll definitely be back!
