Killalea Regional Park

Stunning views with two of the nicest beaches. It's worth the drive from Sydney. The hills are perfect for picnicking or sitting while enjoying the views. The night sky is lit up with stars after Sunset.

An absolutely stunning location with some nice walking routes, lots of aquatic birds, and plenty of places to sit and eat. A word of warning: the stairs used to access different sections of the beach are quite steep.

Beautiful scenery and a nice walk around the lagoon, some step steps to get down to the beach. Cafe on site too (not always open) and clean public toilets.

Often walk in this park while we're staying in Shell Cove area. There are several different paths, feeling so close to nature... plenty of birds, a lot of black swans in the Lagoon, saw whales numerous times, and also saw two black snakes so be aware! There are picnic tables, restroom near the main entrance area. Absolutely love hiking in this park!

Sites are generous and family‑friendly, with basic facilities including toilets, cold showers, and picnic shelter areas. Evenings are best spent gathering around a campfire while listening to ocean waves echoing in the distance. Despite its natural beauty, the park remains relaxed and unpretentious—no theme park ride here, just unspoiled coast, friendly locals, and a laid‑back atmosphere.
