Great place to take your kids to play. They have a fun playground and you can even bring your fur babies to play in their own fenced in play area. Big dogs have a separate area from the little dogs to help with accidents. It is nice to be able to go inside a gate and close it before opening whichever side is appropriate for your dog. They also have a soccer field and ball field. The only improvements I can think of is a water fountain and a larger parking lot. I would recommend!
I'd give this park a 5/5 if it wasn't for a bad experience we had yesterday May 3rd 2025 we had our pup who is 8mths old and all of knee high there and he was playing just fine with about 7 other dogs of all breeds, ages and sizes biggest being a beautiful greatdane. Then came in a guy with a nice looking female Melanois pup and he mentioned throughout the 10 minute conversation, his well known knowledge of this particular breed, telling my husband and I "her" only thing is she is very protective of her things. He chucked a ball his dog retrieved it, came back dropped it and did the same a second time but after dropping it this time, 3dogs ran up to it my dog unfortunately was close enough to get attacked! The fight was broken up after I had literally threw my entire body at his dog to get it to stop. Then after my dog ran to the entrance gate wanting out.. that dog broke loose again for another round at my dog...my husband grabbed his dog and again it slipped out of the collar then that collar was tossed at him, and the guy got upset at us!!🤬 all the other owners took their dogs out of the "big" dog side and went to the "little" dog side locking themselves in there with their dogs as WE left. I demanded a phone number from him even though my dog seemed fine at that time.. just incase but it was guessed to be a phony. We took photos as we were leaving, the guy was walking towards us throwing profanities so we got in our vehicle and left. There were atleast 6 other people who witnessed this incident. BE LEARY FOLKS NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT THEIR DOGS👏👏
Park was updated since I was there last, was very clean and was awesome. One of the nicest parks I've been too in several years. Definitely a great place for a child's birthday party even has a dog park with obstacle courses for your doggies too. I loved it! Can't wait to go back with all 3 of my kids and my Chihuahua.

Optimist Park in Milton, FL, is a beloved destination for families and pet owners alike. Visitors praise the park's clean and updated facilities, including a fun playground for kids and separate fenced areas for big and small dogs to play safely. The park offers various amenities such as baseball fields, a soccer field, shaded seating areas, picnic shelters, walking paths suitable for skating, and even an agility course for dogs. While most reviewers had positive experiences at Optimist Park enjoying its diverse offerings, there were some concerns raised about unfilled holes in the ground posing safety risks and incidents of dog aggression among visitors' pets.

Located behind Big Lots Shopping Center in Milton,FL. Just off Hwy. 90 and minuets from downtown Milton and Blackwater River, close to Pace and Bagdad. My kids love this place. Plenty of places to play and climb. There is a large walking area good for skating. Lots of shades seating for parents. Public bathrooms, two baseball fields, a soccer field, two large dog parks, lots of slides for all ages, handicap swings, baby swings and big kid swings, tunnels, a picnic shelter, and a decent amount of parking. The whole parks boundaries are fenced in.
It was nice to be able to get my puppy out of the house for a bit while my grandson played on the playground. I like they have separate areas for big dogs and little dogs. My only complaint would be about the holes that were left unfilled. Putting a board over the hole just tells me you know it's there, but took the easy and unsafe way to "correct" it. For the most part the area was clean and I appreciate the water station. The puppies enjoyed running around and checking out the other puppies.
To the lady with the huge rot/pit mix. You have zero control over our dog. He probably outweighs you by 20 lbs. Please, work on some basic commands before putting him in a situation where he will likely fail. Wrapping his leash halfway up your arm will only get your arm ripped off when he decides to take off or go after a small dog. If I had to tell you one more time NOT to open that gate as I was trying to leave with my 2 small dogs as your big one was trying desperately to get to them, we were gonna have some major problems lady. If you can't teach him some manners, petsmart has an awesome trainer, please take him to a few classes. I'd hate to see such a beautiful animal punished for his owners lack of knowledge.
It depends on when you visit! We've compiled data from NASA on what the weather is like in Pace for each month of the year: see the links below for more information.
