We have done this walk many times over the years. We parked at Ye old Nags head pub . We arrived at 5.15 am . We wanted to watch the sunrise 🌅 we made it to the top with just minutes to spare as the same came up at 6.45am . Wow 👌🏼 the pictures do it, no justice . Was beautiful . Off we went to kinderscout past mermaids pool followed the stream over the marsh land where we spotted beautiful wild life . Found the track again, and until this point, we saw 2 lots of wild campers and 1 person as we watched the world awaken and start their journey. My knee, my groin ,my hip had some battering, and we were all walking like a family of penguins 🐧 but it's an amazing walk , with beautiful views of the valley ❤️
Amazing hike, can be quite difficult at certain parts, would not recommend for beginners since you can reach elavtion of over 500 + meters, but the views are amazing, if you are planning a trip here I suggest you make it early and on the weekdays if you can.
I choose to park my car at Bowden Bridge car park, but rather than parking my car inside the car park, just outside the car park there are parking spaces which are free.

I'll try to keep this review short, and let the pictures show you how beautiful this reserve is.
Or if you're feeling up for the challenge, come and give it ago yourself.
Visited the peaks for my trip away this bank holiday weekend past, to do some more challenging hikes.
Kinder Scout lived up to my expectations of a challenging hike (as I like to find tough ascents and descents).
I would say the cheekiest part of the hike is ascending to the top of the Penine Way. But, I guarantee if you can do that, the views are simply breathtaking to behold.
Great place, I climbed Jacobs Ladder and was my first time climbing Kinder Scout today. Don't be fooled in thinking the white trig on the rock is the summit, that is Kinder Low. Kinder Scouts highest peak is a little less obvious within boggy marsh land, easy to slip into the bog, it only has a small pile of stones, but that is where the summit it.
Jacobs Ladder can be challenging at times, but take your time and stop regularly, there are plenty of views to admire on the way up.
On a clear day it's possible to see as far as Snowdon and even the Scottish Highlands. You also have a clear view of Manchester.
