An important landmark in Povoa de Varzim. The area around always has a festive look.
It is another casino near Porto after Espinho. The location is also close to the ocean.
Fine please beach front view
I’ve only seen slot machines and blackjack in the casino a long with the roulette. Personally, I’m not a big fan of this games since I was expecting poker. For that and for the reason that there wasn’t an interesting show the night we went there, I gave it two stars.
Nice casino, a bit old-fashioned, mostly local customers, informal atmosphere, and overall it's not Las Vegas. You can definitely spend a fun couple of hours here, even if you have ten euros in your pocket.
sunset just unbelievable
It is one of the best casino in Portugal and the place is situated on the beach of Povoa Da Varzim. Moreover, the facade is too iconic and Lucrative.
Many people come here to see. In many countries of Europe visitors come to see....

On wall the the history of Póvoa de Varzim is depicted in tile paintings. Some them exist in reality in nearby area in a remodelled or changed form. I have visited it several times to see how the city transformed in past several years. It is a good way to allow people know the city as in past and present.

The medieval monastery of Rates is a National Monument and is one of the most important in the Romanesque art in Portugal. It worths a visit specially if you are in nearby Caminho Português de Santiago.
Probably the most important collection of arquite tural, and s ulpture elements , of medieval and pos renascentism age since 1 portuguese monarchie.
The building is great, just don't attend a service if you understand Portuguese. He will tell you that you are all evil sinners, condemn you as bad and rant on as if it was the 19th century. Try a better Church if you want a wedding, christening, funeral or whatever, that is if he doesn't reject you as a sinner first!
Fantastic romantic church. We get there by chance as we had to get off the highway to get gas and found this beautiful place. One of the most authentic I have ever seen in Europe, and I drove some thousands miles in Spain, France, Italy and Germany.
Great example of a basic medieval church (1100-1200). There are a few placards that give its history, but no one there to speak with. Still in use today, so it does have electricity, but most aspects are centuries old. Part of a pilgrimage trail.
Slow down, take a look inside, sit, kneel, and make a short prayer. Worth a stop.

Amazing place with an incredible view. There's also a fantastic restaurant called "eLleBê". The food, the staff and the place itself are excellent!
Neat small fort that allows you to explore both levels. The tourist office was closed due to Covid so couldn't get any history. Several restaurants/bars inside. Be sure to find the guard's bathroom! (See my pics).
Nice view on the top and yummy restaurant's.
Google shows that it is open, the schedule says they should be open, but it was in fact closed without any information at the door.
A couple of restaurants were opened inside the fortress. There is access to the top for a great view.
Just a few shops and restaurants inside a facade of an old fort. Wouldn't go out of my way to visit peope.
I will be back to check out the base restaurant inside the castle

A beautyfull landmark
A lovely little park in front of the town hall with pretty houses all around and a short walk to the narrow streets of the old quarter. Povoa de Varzim is a lovely gem of a city!
The statue of Eça de Queiroz is located in front of Câmara municipal de Povoa de Varzim. There are some benches for sitting and enjoy the view. The green trees make the environment better.

I remember going to Balazar as a young boy. Blessed Alexandrina of Balazar is revered in my family. You feel at peace visiting her house.
Great place to learn more about Blessed Alexandra, and free!
(Translated by Google) The lady who looks after the place is very attentive and friendly. We were well received. She put on a video on the TV for us to watch, talking about Alexandrina's life.
