An absolutely stunning mountain gorge with a crystal-clear, rushing river carving its way through the rocks. The graceful spiral staircase adds a unique charm and makes the walk even more memorable. The trail ends with a breathtaking waterfall and a panoramic viewing platform. If you ever find yourself in the area, don’t miss it — this is a true masterpiece of nature!
Nature trail - Liechtenstein Gorge. - Easy and pleasant Liechtensteinklamm trail. Very organized place, there are 4 parking lots (p1, p2) very close to the entrance. P3 + P4 is an effortless walk of 1 km. Entrance for 2 adults + 2 children 47 euros. Very organized trail, lots of places to photograph crazy nature, flowing water. There are stairs on the way (up and down). The trail is packed with people/visitors (we started at 10:00) The entire trail takes about two hours, depending on the traffic and how many photos you take.
Totally worth to go there! Ticket for adult cost 15 euros, child for free. Well maintained path and stairs. We took a hike with our 4yo and we made it all together, it was super safe and definitely also a child friendly option for active family. We arrived just after 10am which was a great time since when we were coming back, all the parking spots were full just the further one(P5) available and we managed to park in P1. So definitely worth to come early
Easy walk with about 400 stairs. It’s not a circular walk so you will have to walk those 400 steps on your way back. The views are gorgeous and it’s perfect if you are looking for a 3 hour walk in nature with a unique pathway and the most beautiful stairs I ever saw.
Certainly worth the visit! Stunning waterfall and gorge. The spiral staircase is an added bonus! Take your time and breathe the mountain fresh air.
Stunning gorge, quite easy hiking, definitely worth 15€ ticket. It takes less than 1 hour for the round trip. A little bit wet, it's better to have shoes with confident grip
Worth more than they charge you. And they definitively were not joking about the safety measures they take. Do come early in the morning or before closing because the crowd is quite disturbing the experience. There are big free parkings. The famous steps are only one part of the going up and down. It is short but not flat. Also, do not take your dog if you can't carry her: she will definitively not appreciate it as all the bigger dogs were scared and the steps can easily hurt their paws. They will not enjoy it one bit.
Various Parkplatzs available. Luckily there was availability in P1 (near to Kasse). From there, it will take around 40minutes (beginners) one way to the end point (Waterfall). Beginners can also do it.., no fitness needed! Just some spiral staircase and off-road walking. Worth the visit!

Family friendly ski resort with plenty of slopes for all levels and well connected lift system. It comprises of several villages/mountains connected through the wagon lift. There is also a fun slope for kids/beginners and a snow park where you can try trampolines, etc. There are plenty of cafes/restaurants for all tastes. A couple of upscale places with parties Fri/Sat.
Ski resort with a very modern lift system and good variety of pistes. Very well suited for families and beginners. Free ride/ off-piste options are a bit limited. Good parking around the main lift from the valley.
Had a great time today skiing with friends. Snow conditions were great, awesome tram and gondolas. Cool spot for drinks by the flying Mozart lift.
Amazing place for skiers... Fantastic also for families... Mostly easy and intermediate slopes Alpendorf is a diamond of this region, I am recommended it for families, couples, and solo travellers... With 100% guarantee snow, Snow Space shows that they are focused and ready to please and serve every tourist and skier during the ski season.. FYI I was in Alpendorf (Snow Space) in 2023. and 2024. 20 days in total at the beginning of January with my family
Perfect place for day in the mountains with kids. Enjoyable hike filled with activities, beautiful view from the top.
Update for winter 24-25. Still the best. 16 years now. The snow making is wonderful combined with some of the best slope grooming in the world. Great combination of Red and Blue slopes with a few Blacks. Stegbach is Black and served with only a T-bar - usually not crowded at all. Update For winter 2023-24. After 15 years with season passes, I can still say no regrets. The snow making is incredible, along with some of the best slope grooming anywhere. Alpendorf/St Johann is one of the best ski areas in Austria - located less than an hour south of Salzburg. It's not the biggest, but combined with Wagrain and Flachau (all connected by lifts), it's a very large area with a great mix of slopes. Off-piste is limited, but the slopes are extremely well maintained. The snow making is some of the best in the world, guaranteeing good skiing usually from the beginning of December to mid-April. The food and drink on the mountain is great and reasonable. I have been skiing for over 60 years and have skied some of the biggest and best ski areas in France, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, and North America (West and East). We picked Alpendorf for season passes and have no regrets.
A huge and excellent ski resort, so many options for skiing, the ski pass allows access to over 700 km of slopes even when it is not snowing, 90 percent of the slopes can be covered with snow by snow machines, so there is nothing to worry about, the only thing is that it can be very, very crowded with people on certain days and hours
Well designed fairy tale park for children, with revolving motives of four basic elements - Earth, Air, Water and Fire. Nice walking track is guided by two friendly ghosts - Ghosty & Spooky. I bet, your kids will love them. Even if the price for cable car is not cheap (cca € 65 for 2 adults and 2 children), it's worthy to visit. The park itself is tasteful, toy train, which brings you to the top of the mountain, is free of charge and you even have wifi on the summit. And panorama around is nice.

It was a very pleasant day with kids. Thanks to many attractions on the way, they manged entire hike without a slightest nag 😁 Filling in stickers in the circle was a little complicated since the paper circle has different size than those on the boards, but we managed.
Perfect for kids aged 6-12. It is quite challenging as you have to walk a lot at the top and the terrain is not easy. Better to come for the whole day and make pauses to recharge energy.
Magical place for kids and adults alike. There are amenities to take a stroller with you, but better to have one with breaks, due to steep terrain.
This place is amazing! We had so much fun. It is just one huge playground. We enjoyed our time on the mountain and we would recommend it to anyone who wants to see some magnificent views and also spend some fun time with their kids. Get some rest and relax while the kids go on exploring and fullfilling all the tasks the ghosts prepared for them.
From the mountains around Wagrain, this one is the best for kids. There are so many things they can do here, so many different playgrounds and places where you can have fun and you will find out more about the ghosts of the mountains. There is a tractor-bus, which can take you from the gondola lift up to the top, but it is really overcrowded and the hike is not really long or hard. My 4 year old kids had no problems with it. So if you want to surprise your kids, take them to Geisterberg 👍
It's probably the best hiking mountain with children riddles in the Salzburg area. The kids (8, 6, 2) were thrilled to complete the path and the medallion given, and the view is simply amazing. The place is neatly clean and organized. The only downside is the need to wait for the ride uphill, that comes only once in half an hour, and gets full already at the first stations so it doesn't even stop at the middle stations. We ended up walking from bottom to the top on a hot sunny day, it took about 45 minutes and wasn't so easy for the kids.
Ghosts mountain. Actually it's a big playground themed with ghosts. Good views in the area. Not cheap to get to the mountain station, then u need to CLIMB 15min in a road which doesn't fit for all strollers... The ride with the tractor is nice attraction. Nice to have. Not 1st in your list...
Wonderful views, nice little hiking, children attractions, cable car and tractor awesome. Was there in september, first snow already

Very nice pfarrkirche zum hl place to visit in my way to halstat
While I didn't have the opportunity to go inside, the exterior of the Parish Church of St. John the Baptist is truly stunning. The architecture is impressive and adds a lot of charm to the surrounding area.
Nice church, worth seeing, if you are not religious then for the architecture
Amazing cathedral, worth to see it from outside and inside.
Not a religious fan... Love the architecture though.
Looks nice but they are ringing the bells many times during the night. For example at 5.45, 5.53, 7.03 AM.
Nice building...very old and beautiful. It is like any other church...serene and peaceful.

I went here for a trip and it was brilliant! I had never skied before and was taught the basics and was able to ski after just one day. My instructor Lemmon was very helpful and quite a nice guy. Very fun and nice views. Would recommend
I had the most amazing time learning to ski here, and I already want to go back. I had never skied before and my instructors Kai and Nazim were fantastic! The routes on the slopes were also so much fun!
Have been using this shop for years for ski school, rentals, and repairs. Hansi specifically has been super with getting my skis fixed with a minor repair and helping us get some skis for the kids. Highly recommend.
I came to the mountain hoping to improve my skiing. What I didn’t expect was to leave feeling completely elevated. Tom, Tim, and Robert — what can I say? With the three of you around, even I can ski. Who knew all it took was the right… hands-on approach? Every day at Buchau-Hütte started with stunning views, warm smiles, and the kind of personal attention that made me feel like the only one on the mountain. Whether it was a firm grip on technique or a cheeky wink over schnapps, they made sure no moment was wasted. Let’s just say: they taught with their whole bodies, and I certainly responded in kind. By the end of the week, my turns were smoother, my confidence was higher, and my legs? Well… let’s just say they worked hard. Thanks for showing me how fun skiing can really be. I’ll be dreaming of the Buchau-Hütte — and you three — until next season.
had the best week with orla, the best instructor i could ever ask for and she helps build so much confidence throughout the week, at the start of the week i was scared to ski and unable to turn and by the end of the week i was going down red slopes confidently. thank you so much orla, see you next year 😁
i had such a great time skiing with this ski school. anni was a brilliant instructor and helped me so much. she always made sure i was okay if i fell over and she pushed us just enough. i really enjoyed skiing with her as my instructor.
I was a beginner skier so I booked a six day ski lesson 4 hours per day. My instructor was the amazing Lotte. She has an amazing personality. She is an excellent instructor I would highly recommend her. After only 2 days I was very comfortable doing parallel turners on blue and some red slopes.
My instructor was Anni, she made the whole trip so memorable and fun, I don’t think I could ever forget it thanks to her. She has helped me and the whole rest of the group learn so much like, parallel stops, slalom races, skiing backwards, skiing on one ski, and all skiing joined together! Anni was patient with everyone and let us often go at our own pace, helping anyone that needed it She let us choose where and what we wanted to do next , for example, we asked to do some black runs, off peist bits, fun slopes, and videos of us skiing and she would manage to balance out everything we wanted as well as new techniques and skills She listened and helped and I know I’ve gotten better thanks to her! Thank you Anni!

I have rented at this place for 3 years. Exceptionally polite, flexible with switching gear, very competent and understanding of the personal needs. I bought my entire equipment from the eventually - the owner just looked at my posture and feet and suggested a pair of Atomic shoes that fit perfectly. One year later I had a small issue with the shoe and they fixed it, no questions asked. I got a super price for my ski a few days earlier after trying them as rentals for a day. The entire staff is very friendly. No online sale can replace this personal service! 5/5
Extremely good service here. Two of us rented skis and everything was perfect with them. Great skis. Easy to swap skis mid holiday. Perfect location as you go up to the gondola. No queue and outstanding service by the staff, especially Tina. We had a slight mess up and they coped with that extremely well also. All round the best ski hire experience I’ve ever had
First-time skiing for our family, and it couldn’t have been better! The staff were kind, professional, and made everything safe and fun. Equipment was top-quality and perfectly fitted, which gave us so much confidence on the slopes. Outstanding service from start to finish—highly recommend!
Fantastic ski hire experience! Gerhard and the team will make you feel welcome, find the right equipment for you and actually care that you’ll get the best skis for the day. They’re also flexible if you need to change skis or want to extend your hire. Top prices (the best we found this season). 100% recommended
Gerhard and the team at snowshop were the most professional I ran into and I have skied at over 5 locations already. He has decades of experience and he's professional bootfitter, i was impressed and decided to buy my first ski shoes there and very glad from it! Will come back again. Best location right at the gondola
Excellent rental, they have a great range of products, and best in class professional service, they will go ahead and beyond to make sure you get the best possible fit. I have already used it more than once and they continue to have the top mark.
I brought in some new ski’s to teach on this winter which needed to get the bindings screwed on. Gerhard helped me, even though he didn’t have the mal to bolt them on, to find the place that could do this. In the mean time he helped me by going through his contacts for more help. Gerhard has a lot of “know-how knowledge” from skiing to snowboarding and even snow bike equipment and gear! He also listens to what you want or seek in your gear and gives you precisely what you want!
This ski/snowboard rental shop is amazing! The prices are quite good and the service is IMPECCABLE! Tina, the lady who helped us for the three days we were skiing was very friendly and helpful. She was very worried about me as I decided to learn to ski with a newly broken toe (I don't recommend skiing with a broken toe). She also gave us some awesome suggestions for restaurants where we got some delicious and well priced Austrian food. I highly recommend you rent your equipment with these guys if you decide to ski Alpendorf!
