We walk the dog most days in the Forestry. So many walks and trails to choose from. Lovely wooden animals in the Forest with many benches to sit and relax. Lakes to see the herons, fish, ducks. A bird hide. On Saturdays at 9am there is a run to join in. Too many activities to mention. Come along and see for yourself 😁 You can hire scooters too. £2. I hired one when I hurt my back.
2nd visit here for the Saturday morning Parkrun. Loads of parking, however there can be queues for the parking machines as they are pretty slow. There is another machine at the visitor centre entrance also. Run is on good paths with one long hill section, trial shoes were fine. The canopy of the trees is nice in hot weather and the paths have some wider sections so doesn't get bottlenecks. They do timing signs at the start, so faster runners can clear first, which is great. Well marshalled event and friendly volunteers, worth a visit.
Fantastic for kiddies, especially if the weather's good. Parkland, birds of prey to visit, and a number of different play areas suiting kiddies of all ages and also those with special needs. Car park was £4 for the day. Organised activities available on some days, too, at a small cost.
A great place for the kids to burn some energy. There are three separate play areas, one of which has a sand area. There is a cafe if you’d like to buy food/drinks. There are also many picnic benches, so you can always pack a picnics with you. There are also toilets. The best thing is you just pay for parking, which is fairly priced. We took our kids bike and they loved riding them around the trail. We’d definitely visit again.
A lovely free day out walking around the forestry. Plenty to keep little ones entertained & nice peaceful walks. Well kept forestry with frequent events, a lovely coffee shop & softplay. Suitable for all ages, Literally.
Lovely place to spend a day out. Some unique designs slides we found there 😁. Coffee shop and afordable soft play also. Definitely we will come back.
August 2025 A great place to take a young family. There's a brand new hawk climbing construction which our grandchildren loved with slides and climbing walls. Also, nearby another play area with a massive wooden tractor. You can get quite close to a display of birds of prey with a whole range of types. The owners were very friendly and spent time chatting about all the birds. There's plenty of cycle routes and a large cafe. Additionally, Roslinton has a large collection of notable trees on a long and winding path. Each tree has a well kept information post. The park also has a sculpture trail aimed at inqizative children. There's a map available with routes and a question sheet All day parking is £4.00 All in, a very good place.
Stayed here in Oak Lodge for 4 nights, very reasonable price, lodge had everything needed for our stay, would return here again, great walks around the forest, enjoyed a full breakfast in the cafe on our last morning here, good range of food on the menu.

What an incredibly friendly place! The staff were amazing and a credit to the business and the toboggan and tubing was really enjoyable! The pricing was also very good when other industries like 10 pin bowling seem to be going up and up. I will be visiting again 😊
Heard about this place online and decided to take my family and give it a try. I had a few apprehensions after reading a few of the reviews however I'm glad we went. Yes I would say it could do with a little cash injection and looks tired in places but that aside me and my family genuinely had a great laugh and thoroughly enjoyed our time and would definitely recommend and go again. The staff were really lovely and helpful. The tobogganing and Tubing were fantastic fun. It was excellent value for the activities we chose. Honestly guys keep up the good work. The activities are fun and you get good exercise, be out in the fresh air and away from the screens. Great place and great staff! PS - The type of people that would moan about this place are the entitled ones with narrow minds and victim mentality and would probably never be happy with anything. I imagine the poor staff have to deal with some right clowns that you could never please.
Went with my family and we absolutely loved the tobogganing. Kyle was so professional and friendly. Filming our ride for us it. Such an amazing experience will definitely be going again and will recommend it to family and friends. Plenty of space for parking and friendly staff. Prices are fair too.
A decent place away from the hustle and bustle of the big cities, plenty of parking and good value for money for what you get. Waiting time wasn't too long at 12pm when we went and the boards came back fast enough. Staff were friendly. Cafe did seem limited in food options but I didn't actually buy anything. I'm happy with the day
We had a wonderful time there ,my children were so excited
Fab couple of hours for fathers day.. my boys loved it! The walk up the hill after sno-tubing was a killer but the joy of the slides made it worth it!.. def recommend a combo trip! Such fun!
Food was nicely cooked and presented, despite being given to another table. No sausages available for all day breakfast, not advised until you notice them missing! No replacement offered until asked. Toilets in terrible conditions with no running hot water even though the tap is clearly marked hot. Open bins left in restaurant and chairs left on tables the wrong way up. Hard to find a fence not broken or attached to the ground, does Stevie Wonder conduct the health and safety reviews? Poor signage. The grass slope has seen better days. General maintenance for the toboggan run appears to be none existent, thought fun once your on it. Staff friendly and state it's a good company to work for.
Had an amazing day, Kyle really made it for us, was very friendly and accommodating and when we decided not to do the drop slide due to the walk being to steep he let us have an extra go on the tobogganing!!

A great place to visit, you can enjoy a canal boat ride (check schedule before you go) and visit the museum. Lots of space to walk, have a picnic or just enjoy a coffee. Volunteers are very friendly, and there's plenty of parking.
It was a lovely sunny weekend day in March. We entered the car park and quickly found the entrance to the park. The museum itself was under renovation so we didn’t visit. We took a walk on the path adjacent to the river. Highly recommended.
There a great car show on here every second Tuesday of the month during the spring/summer. Great looking building and grounds.
Great venue for an evening car show, cars at the furnace, plenty of parking and an organized entrance. Toilet facilities available. Great atmosphere and vibe, Nice place for walks and photos.
Very interesting place with a selection of things to see and experience. Cheap entrance fee and beautiful site. Several artisan workshops, canal walk and teashop.
Moira Furness is undergoing a Renovation process. Lovely little Cafe and Toilets nearby. And a playing Area Nearby. Bautifull walking along the canal Towpaths. They've Widened the Pathway with stone and very easily accessible for wheelchair friendly. Just sit and watch. Or take a short trip on a canal boat. Relax 😌
Experience a canal boat ride, a great little museum and a country park in one. Free parking available and a very modest charge for both the boat and dog friendly museum. Nice place to take a walk along the banks of the canal, woods or among the old workings.
A lovely place for a dog walk or bike ride along the canal. Plentiful parking and facilities. You may book canal boat rides and there is a museum and shop to take a look around. A fab little cafe for snacks and refreshments and a bike repair shop on site. We attend many events here throughout the year whether they be car boots, day events or car shows.

Attended a chocolate course with Will Torrent. Will was patient, knowledgeable and full of enthusiasm. Clare and her support team were brilliant and kept is fed, watered and ran around after us all day. A truly memorable day. I have new skills and techniques and had lots of practise and encouragement throughout the day. A real hands on day which resulted in total confidence to do the things at home.
I recently took part in a curry cooking course with a friend. The standard of food and tuition was first class. I'm not the most confident of cooks, while my friend is very able and creative in the kitchen. Even though we were both starting from different levels, we both learnt a huge amount. We shall be back.
Been twice now, once for a Malaysian course, once for a Middle East course. Both of these were run very different but both really great. The venue itself is very nice, a well presented kitchen area, plenty of space for your hands on cooking experience. Would recommend to any foodies out there. Website has a full range of courses available.
Wonderful day, learned lots, and enjoyed lunch. The experience is expensive but the courses are well run. Very professional. Friendly staff. As you cook the used dishes a Rex whisked away and return clean, wish that happened at home! Hope to visit again.
I had a fantastic time at Seasoned Cookery School. I joined one of their knife courses so that I could get over my fear of sharp knives and learn to use knives properly. I had a great time! Everyone was really kind and the welcome was fantastic - chocolate brownies and coffee at 9am: perfect!! We learnt how to hold the knife and use it safely. We cooked our own lunch and then enjoyed eating it :-) A great experience and looking forward to attending another course soon. I would highly recommend a day or half day at Seasoned!
I have just returned to Dublin after 3 days of Weber BBQ training in Seasoned. Based on my experience over the past few day I would wholeheartedly and unreservedly recommend Seasoned to anybody who is considering taking a cookery course there. Everybody I met was very friendly and easy-going and clearly enjoyed working there. Thank you all for a very enjoyable 3 days with a particular thank you to Tanya (Ethel) for all your help. I wish you continued success. Cheers, Cormac.
My husband treated me to the full day Indian cookery course and I loved it. A nice relaxed atmosphere, with friendly staff. Rayeesa has a good presenting style. The food was tasty and I enjoyed the lunch, eating things we had made with a glass of wine......very civilized. Would thoroughly recommend it.
Recently attended a patisserie course with Will Torrent. I really enjoyed the day and learned many new skills from a master of patisserie. The pear almondines were amazing. Kitchen fairies were great taking care of the washing up. I am now looking forward to macaroon making in a few days time and a pasta course in the New Year.

Great car boot sale and only 50p
Booked this place last year for my other half. booked a date was told a couple of weeks later it was booked up. Picked another date, this one was ok, got an email a week later saying that the company had gone into receivership so date had been cancelled. Tried to contact them, no reply to emails and the phone was dead. Payed them direct so no comeback on the £200 they scammed out of me. These guys were charlatans
Had this booked for my 50th birthday. A week before going we were informed that not enough people had booked and it wouldn't be going ahead, so please could we reschedule. Booked again for 3 months later. Emailed two weeks before to check all ok, no reply. Continued to email, but still no reply. Now a month past and many more emails, but still no reply. Got refund from voucher site as tank mania won't talk to us. Aweful customer service...
I booked a 2hour tank ride experience for my sons 8th birthday what a joke he only got 3rides at 10mins each if that. We was told we couldn't take photos on site but they would take photos for us for £10 but it wasn't them making money. Then to top it off non participate have to pay £20 each to sit on a picnic bench on a dirty bit of land what a joke
Okay first of all the staff there have an attitude problem. They insulted our bus driver because he didn't notice the SMALL parking sign which was also obscured by grass. He does not need to go to spec savers he can see just fine. The man with glasses also kept giving me dirty looks and I do not appreciate it. Despite the poorly looked after equipment and even poorer driving it was an okay experience... Despite the fact there were NO TANKS even though from what I know our group was arranged to go here weeks ago! Overall a poor experience I would not recommend going here. Harambe did not die for this
Bunch of crooks, take your money then cancel at last minute then ignore all communication.
Great fun. Well worth the effort

Visited on Wednesday's 'Pie Day'. Excellent selection of pies available, choice of 5 potato accompaniments, and 4 vegetable choices. Lots of other choices for additional cost. Small alternative menu also available on a Wednesday. Our pies were delicious. All food was tasty and hot. We were served by the lovely Nathan. Really enjoyed our lunch - we will be visiting again regularly.
One of the most delicious Sunday lunches I've ever had out! So great to have an abundance of veggies sides too, proper gravy and generous portions. Don't pass on dessert either! The Sunday lunch set menu is a great offer. Will definitely be back!
Came here last night and the food and service were absolutely incredible. Pie Wednesday was definitely a high light and so delicious! We had an amazing meal and so so filling wish we had room for dessert. Definitely a must visit!
Whoever thought of a roast dinner in a roll is a genius!!! This meal was 5 star amazing….! It was also boiling hot ! Which I have always found never happens with Sunday roast ! Pet hate ! The team here thank you we are just visiting but it was an excellent find 🙌
I've passed this place many times, but never tried it before, so called in for a bar meal to try it out. We were seated quickly and the service was pleasant and professional, but I'm sad to say that it just felt like the whole place needs a deep-clean. The table had sticky stains which we asked the waitress to wipe, but it still didn't feel as clean as it should have. The fireplace had lots of dust and cobwebs and the carpets looked dirty. The food arrived fairly quickly and was delicious I'm glad to say, but overall we felt disappointed as the place looks nice from outside. Could do so much better.
Booked for Sunday Lunch as pot luck dog friendly stop-over on long journey. So pleased we did! The generously portioned roast beef together with a full house of all the usual trimmings was excellent. And all for a very reasonable price too.🙂. We make this journey several times a year, so will definitely be back in December 😋😋.
A really nice pub with a cosy and welcoming feel. A dog friendly pub, that even has a dog chew menu. Food was excellent and very tasty. Service was superb (especially Lily). Plenty of parking too.
Fantastic pub. Dog friendly. Child friendly. Huge portions for a reasonable price. Was tempted by the Christmas menu and offerings, few things going on there over the festive period. Highly recommend. X
