Absolutely 💯 LOVED the Original Classy Style of Route 66 atmosphere and decor! This was once a really booming town for thousands to see and experience great fellowship of travelers going to and fro. We hope to visit again soon as we didn't have time to stop at all the vintage sites! Blessings to Tucumcari 🙏🏼💞
Girl was friendly, used the restrooms. They were clean
Very enjoyable drive from Amarillo Texas to New Mexico and stayed in Tucumcari went to dinosaur museum my wife and I really enjoyed it and the people are very nice
This place is temporarily closed due to needed roof repairs. Should be opening again soon. Use website for information...very user friendly.
Just got a new paint job and inside restoration work.
Had a awesome turn out

This place is such a fantastic gem! Let’s not talk about how much we spent but also okay we walked out of there with a ton of things! I mean souvenirs for these kids for ever!!! Shirts and magnets and jewelry and my goodness there is something for everyone and so many fascinating things! This is a must see- must stop at location!
Beautiful store! Lots of fun finds! Great place for Route 66 and New Mexico related souvenirs! We bought a few things and didn't buy the one thing we really wanted on our across the country journey! I phoned owner, Gar, who happily shipped it! Arrived Super Fast! Great experience, and must stop on your travels!
I stopped in here quite a while ago I left pissed. It's an awesome stop along the Route 66 tour. With such a unique building structure and loaded with ALL the things Route 66 related, I can see why it's popular. The counter clerk totally ruined it for me. I don't know if she had something against me personally or if she just had absolutely ZERO customer service skills. She managed to conduct the entire transaction without saying one work to me and I know she wasn't deaf or mute because she had been running her mouth with her coworkers the entire time I was shopping. No hello, did you find everything OK, the total, goodbye, thanks - absolutely nothing. I got in my car totally flabbergasted and debated walking back in and returning everything. So sure, check out the outside decor and maybe even venture inside, and best of luck getting someone with a better attitude.
This is a great shop!! Some very common touristy items, but also some very unique . My hubby even enjoyed it and came out with some goodies! Helpful gal at the register, too!
One of the coolest stores around. Located in Tucumcari, NM. Was in town for work and had to stop by. They have some cool stuff, hoodies, shirts, hats, stickers, pins, toys, souvenirs, books, maps, jewelry and much more! I was looking for skins and snake rattlers but didn't have that. All in all really cool place!!
What a cool piece of Americana! One of the few still keeping the Route 66 flame burning! Lotsa cool stuff and friendly staff. If you only make one stop on old 66- make it TeePee!
Very well managed business with friendly staff. Convenient early morning hours and right across the street from a coffee shop. On the main strip near other historic businesses. Perfect photo opportunity inside and outside. There is a large Clint Eastwood cutout that you can stand next to for pictures.
This is a great little shop. I wanted to stop because it is the only one of them left. On Route 66 there were a lot of shops like this in its heyday. Sadly most are ruins and bones. There are a large array of souvenirs for Route 66 as well as some Native American art that is Navajo and authentic. Postcards, metal signs, mugs. At fun to look at all of the things they offer. They have 2 pups in the shop so make sure you ask if yours are welcome. They were every nice and wrapped my breakables well so they would make it the rest of my journey. I would recommend!!

This place is a MUST SEE! Rock hounds, all who are interested in the past ages, and MANY of the fossils are painstakingly cast in bronze! Clear identification, breathtaking statues, skeletons in bronze, local and far away fossils; adults and children will enjoy this spectacular museum!
This place was amazing! My daughter and I stopped in here, while on a road trip. We got there with probably 30-ish minutes before closing, and one of the ladies there was awesome enough to let us in for free! So many things to see and take in, an awesome step back into the past. Incredible displays, friendly staff, and a cute little gift shop (which of course my daughter left with a souvenir😆) Definitely recommended to check out, but make sure you get there with extra time to spare 🤣
This is a wonderful museum has some great dinosaur stuff. I love the fossils. They had some cool life-size dinosaurs in there. There’s a cool kids section here where they actually get to dig up some dinosaur bones.
This definitely fits the description of "don't judge a book by its cover." Amazing museum that we make sure to stop in when we pass through every few years. We recently took my parents on our way back from MO and they could not beleive the artifacts and history stored there. Don't miss it, it's worth the stop!
A great experience for all ages! Definitely recommend for the kids with the fossil pit and different exhibits for them to touch. The fossils and general literature is in depth for everyone to read and experience. The museum is also very affordable for the entire family with the proceeds going to the community college.
I am an administrator for a program in a large school district near Houston, TX, and I'm always looking for different ways to "bring in" educational experiences for the students I serve. My husband was reluctant to stop because he was eager to continue our Antelope hunting....but...we were both pleasantly surprised. This experience was worth every minute and every penny. The staff is kind. The museum is well organized. I left with a few treasures to build a learning unit for my program, including a free DVD and the ability to provide my students with an official "License to Hunt Dinosaurs". Thank you Lori and your team!
This place is very organized. A variety of real dinosaurs and replicas. Rocks crystals petrified wood. There is a lot to see
Update: The director, Loni, reached out to me and reassured us that a replacement kit will be sent for my son. He’s very excited—thank you, Loni, for taking care of this situation! We were on a road trip heading back home from New Mexico to Indiana and decided to stop here since our son is really into dinosaurs. The museum itself was cool and we enjoyed the visit. Afterward, our son picked out a STEM kit from the gift shop. Unfortunately, when we got home and opened it the next day, we found the clay inside was completely dried out—beyond saving. I called the museum to let them know, but the person who answered said there was nothing they could do and that the store couldn't even ship a replacement kit. So just a heads-up: if you buy anything from the gift shop, open it and check it before you leave. Lesson learned.

One of the only places open on Sunday! A must stop shop if you visit Tucumcari! Great gift shop and central location for amazing photo ops! The owner is so sweet! Great conversation and passion for her shop and town!
Be sure to stop here on your travels through town. Great items at reasonable prices, especially if you have been to other locations on Route 66. Very friendly service - they went out of the way to make sure we were taken care of.
Flora May was super kind and helpful. One of our favourite gift stores along our Route 66 adventure!
Flora May is great--super friendly and helpful. Lots of good pamphlets and souvenirs. Great place to start your visit to Tucumcari.
Great place for information and 66 keepsakes. Always enjoy stopping by on our trips west and talk to the adorable owner.
That store is a must if you're visiting or just driving by! It's not only a gift shop, you can also find here really rare and vintage things. I'm impressed with the quality of my cap for a great price, which is twice better than you can find in most of the stores. Just stop there, and you won't regret it!
Must stop! The owner is delightful and many handmade products! Lots of unique finds!
My friend and I stopped here to find a state map and we found one but we also ended up spending a long time just talking with the owner. Flora May is super friendly and one of the coolest people we've met on our road trip. She has a nice selection of memorabilia too and a good amount of knowledge about Route 66. I would say it's worth a stop, even if it's just to talk 😃

We had a fun and great experience at the museum. The museum is located at Tucumcari's Convention Center. Just drive around towards the baseball field, and you will see it. There is a fee to go into the museum, which I believe was $5.00 per person. As you enter, you can see a wide variety of classic cars, neon photographs, and artwork throughout the museum. There is a small sitting area where you can watch a video about Route 66. I especially liked the Neon. We actually visited the museum twice to take photos, and we had a great time looking at the photos and artwork on the wall and, of course, looking at the classic cars. There is a small area at the front where you can also buy souvenirs. Overall, this was a fantastic and fun experience at the museum. The associate was really friendly and informative, and she was happy to see us visit for a second time before leaving Tucumcari.
This is a small museum, but well worth a stop! Beautiful photos of Route 66 attractions on the walls, cool old cars, and lots of vintage memorabilia round out a wonderful collection! We enjoyed meeting and chatting with Ken as well. Admission is a very reasonable $5. Thank you! 😊🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This was a nice place. Small, but they had a lot of the old cars in good shape on display. They had a great video about RT 66, which was good.
Small, but it had a piece of everything to make it a worthwhile stop we loved it
The cars there were beautiful along with the posters they had. The employee there was super cool. He allowed us to bring our dog inside and told us some really cool spots on the way to TX.
Nice little museum. The more time you spend here, the more treasures you will discover. I especially liked the neon signs.
Very small collection of cars. Took about 10 minutes to view everything. Was hoping for Route 66 memorabilia (since it is in the name) and items and there was not much.
Awesome small museum of Route 66 with a lot of cool expositions ✅
