I had an amazing time exploring the jungle and learning about this incredible structure that he designed and built. Spending a night up in the canopy was incredible!

We were in Costa Rica for 3 weeks. It is a really beautiful landscape full of greenery, jungle, diverse animals, but a night spent in a treehouse was the highlight of the whole holiday for us. A night in the treehouse should be tried out by everyone who visits Costa Rica, it is a really crazy experience. In addition to a night in the jungle, a bonus is to meet a great man like Peter. He told us about his lifelong experiences, incredible/ amazing stories and inspiring thoughts that it just swept us off our feet : D We highly recommend a night at the treehouse.

Our stay in the tree house was amazing, charming and unforgettable. Our guide Tereza was exceptional - she guided us through the jungle and shared lots of fascinating details. It was one of the most beautiful experiences of our vacation in Costa Rica. Listening to the jungle with an ocean view. Unique accommodation combined with Tereza services, great dinners, breakfast and freshly picked cocoa. We highly recommend it to anyone who wants to immerse themselves in nature and discover the wonders of Costa Rica in a truly magical setting.

The hike up was magical and I had a wonderful time. The climbing up was a unique experience, it was scary at the top but was fine when I got in the treehouse. I saw all types of creatures like frog’s , stingless bees, bullet ants and a ocelot footprint! -Naia - 9 yrs old An absolute must do even if you don’t want to stay the night ! Yan our guide is a true Jungle Man and the his knowledge and experiences he shared made it all more memorable. The climb up definitely put us on the edge and when u reach the top it’s breathtaking! - sameera

We were finally able to re-schedule our pandemic-impacted trip, and so happy we were able to get to this gem of a destination. It's a pretty singular experience for the casual traveler! My wife and I and our 12-year-old son had a comfortable overnight stay in the rainforest canopy, watching the birds, monkeys, and bugs and soaking up the sounds all night. Even the short trek from our car to the base of the tree was eventful, with our guides pointing out reptiles, amphibians, a hummingbird nest (!), and colorful insects. None of us had ever self-belayed before, but a quick demonstration enabled each of us to hoist ourselves up the rope to the hanging structure - an adventure in itself! I would suggest you spring for dinner as well - it was a real treat to enjoy a prepared meal and share a bottle of wine in such a locale. Very highly recommended overall!

The treehouse itself is great. But I didn't sleep at all because of the matress. It must be at least 20 years old. If you come alone you have to pay extra, which is normal in Costa Rica. But when you book the vip package you effectivly pay 100 $ for two small meals and a bottle of wine. So yeah, the view and the experience of being in a tree is great, but I wouldnt recommend getting the VIP package. Price is just too high.

We had a wonderful experience at the macaw rescue centre. The one-hour tour was really informative — we learned a lot about the Great Green Macaws, the challenges they face as an endangered species, and how the centre is working hard to rehabilitate and reintroduce them into the wild. Seeing so many macaws up close, flying freely and resting in the trees around us, was absolutely incredible. It’s inspiring to witness the positive impact the centre is making for conservation, and we left with a deeper appreciation for these beautiful birds. Highly recommend this visit!

This was such a fantastic experience. If you love nature, this is a wonderful win for conservation efforts. You see plenty of parrots (specifically Great Green Macaw's / Ara Ambiguus) simply as proof to their success; the birds here are free and thriving with a little assistance in habitat and nesting sites (of course they have a favorite tree). The Macaw's are beautiful and you can view their social behavior. Immersed in nature, you will enjoy great views and plenty of hummingbirds and butterflies. We had a light shower and got lucky to see an abundance of green and red dart frogs! I hope to bring other family to visit in the future and would recommend to anyone who enjoys nature - a must see if you love birds.

This place is incredible! Wild great green macaws flying all around the forest and a great view point to take it all in for the one hour tour. The tour guide explains the story and mission and then takes you up to a viewing area where you can look out into the trees while macaws fly and chatter around you. I is crazy how few of these birds remain in the wild and it was a prevalence to watch them today!

We had the one hour tour where we were presented the history of the center and were allowed to observe aras in their natural habitat from a platform. I would recommend visiting the place and help support the project.

I recommend this place. The entrance is 20$ per person but it’s really worth it. This is a awesome project to conserve the aras and the guide was really nice and explained everything to us. Thank you! 🦜

The tour is pretty much 5 minutes of explanation and then you get to watch the aras. They then give a snack to the aras so when then are done eating they leave. So it was a bit shorter than an hour. We left after 40 minutes. They were still incredible to see flying around. Really nice organization, glad they are working to save the green aras

Nice experience. Its more about observing the birds in their natural environment. You get the information about how they care about the Aras and how they try to put them back into the wild. Its not so cheap but your money seems to go on a good purpose. So its worth for it.

Beautiful beach but kind of a dead/abandoned vibe. We only saw a few people while there. Cool to look at the shipwreck but probably not a top choice for a beach to spend the entire day at

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stopped by this beach briefly – it was buzzing with locals. Not much sandy space, but if you dig chilling on grass under palm trees, it could work. Took a stroll to the ship, it was alright. Spotted a wild sloth – pretty cool! 🌴😎

Nice beach where we were told it typically has small waves. Great for wading, floating and not getting beat down by the waves. The sand is dark sand with lots of shade, and nice concrete patio tables with benches around to use. Close by is the Yicel Shipwreck. Some good photo opportunities. There are convenient food options close by if you get hungry. Manzanillo is a quiet little place nestled up next to the ocean. Definitely worth the visit.

Beautiful and sandy beach. Not much people was at noon, few fishing boats. Beach has part where more waves and more calm areas with some corals. The sand is not so fine like in Puerto Viejo and with same clean warm water. We like this calm and not crowded beach.

Manzanillo is a fishing village and the furthest beach town nearest to Panama border In Costa Rica . It still feels rustic and Uncommercialised - I love it! Some basic hotels / cabinas , 1 local shop, a handful of sodas and bar/restaurants.. only transportation is the Mepe bus that comes maybe every hour or 3 a day… if you want to get there and around need to hire car or get scooter from puerto viejo. It’s amazing as it’s totally Caribbean vibes - only local food unlike nearby Playa cocles or playa Chiquita which are catered for more upmarket European /American tourists. The wildlife national park refuge is also great- donation to get in , and a do it yourself discovery trek (not for the Faint hearted ). On the beach tico crowd , wavy but swimming possible .

Where do I begin. This place is possibly one of the most run-down places I've ever stayed at. The facility is directly next to the main highway but it was difficult to know this when booking it. It appears remote but it next to the NOISY and loud motorcycles who ride by at all hours and have no mufflers on their motorcycles. Next, we brought food thinking that we would cook in their kitchen.... now, the photos on their listing does not come close to the actual condition this kitchen is in. It was definitely the most disgusting and filthy kitchen I've ever seen. Cob webs everywhere, food from days or possibly months in every crevice known... and disgusting dishware, pots, pans, silverware, everything was nasty. We navigated through dinner carefully and then retreated to our room. The room upon first appearance looked good, until we lit up the room with lights only to find a worn out, run down and dilapidated place. Sadly, it was all I could do to muster up the thought of sleeping here since I'm an avid outdoorsman. I'd have preferred to sleep in a tent in the jungle because I was eaten alive by "bedbugs" or whatever was knawing at me all night.... scratch scratch- dig dig, I felt like a flea-ridden dog. I sent a message around midnight through the app to politely criticize the problems. The next morning I was awake early, for better lack of sleep and grabbed breakfast making materials from the cooler in my car. I went to the kitchen and was making breakfast when I heard what I thought was my name being called from a female's voice.... "Rickkkk".... "Riiiiickkk".... then a third time, "Riiiiickkkkk".... I walked over to where I heard my name being called, I said, "Id someone calling my name?" and the man there said, "no, its okay, its nothing" I then turned and began walking back to my breakfast table where some of my friends were seated, only to hear the words, "get out of here, Rick". Then, I realized it was the hosts wife yelling these words out. Anyway, possibly the worst experience ever! My suggestion is take more time to research for a decent place to stay, I obviously didn't and I take responsibility for not doing ample research. By the way, when I went to get my belongings, I noticed they had one of the beds removed from another room as if possibly sanitizing it. Cheers and Pura Vida

We spend there two nights. The only good thing we can mention there was a very nice and good young guy, that tried to help us as good as possible. But the bikes we could use for free were horrible, the kitchen is a mess, the rooms had bugs in the bed and we never met the owner. The location looks really nice with all the wood, but we had the impression they didnt clean for a long time there. The good rating took us there, but we were really disappointed.

I stayed here a few nights and if you are looking for welcoming hosts and a very close interaction with nature, this is the place for you. It was amazing especially because everyone was really nice, they made me feel at home straight away and offered to help with tours and general information in any way necessary. They gave me a tour and explained the concept of Se Ua B&B, everything you see there has been built by hand with recycled material. So not only is it a great stay with amazing people it is also contributing to a wonderful cause. I am planning to go back there and to take my whole family. Thank you Se Ua staff for the fantastic time!

Attention: Bikes cost now money!! Nice hostel directly in the jungle with good vibes and a amazing surrounding. Don't be afraid if a lizard or bug pops up in the partly open rooms - this is nature. Check in process was not really existing apart from 1h sitting around, since the boss was dmnot there around 5pm and his colleagues were not able to do that. This should be changed. But still worth a visit. Have a morning stroll just out the door on the street to see monkeys, different birds and if lucky even a sloth.

We have stayed 2 nights in Se Ua. The building is beautiful and you can really tell its selfmade and there has been put a lot of effort to build the place. It is located in the nature and you can see and hear a lot of animals in the area. Around a 15 minutes Walk to the Playa Grande that is not crowded and where you can expect to be almost alone. The small and not very busy and touristic town of Manzanillo is a 25 minutes walk. Alternetively you can rent a Bike in Se Ua for a small price compared to the other renting companies in the area. The host Will took us on a Kayaking tour in the Djungle Channels of Punta Uva where we thanks to him saw a lot of Animals (Sloths, Lizards, Turtles, Tucans, Monkeys...). The tour was excellent and Will really had a lot of interesting informations about the nature. On the property of the accomodation you can also spot quite some wildlife. In General the Host was very helpful and offered to drive us to the Beach or Manzanillo several times. They offer very tasty breakfasts and dinner by a young and talented cook. All they offer they do it for fair prices. We recommend this place 100% Regards Ruth & Jan

The owner is incredibly accommodating and friendly. He offered rides into manzanillo and provided lots of information about things to do locally. He also built the cabinas with sustainable practices and set aside land for wildlife. Room was spacious and clean. Loved the indoor/outdoor bathroom.

Loved Se Ua. We were not offered a breakfast, but there were lovely places to eat very close by. One of the two owners, who are cousins, was there and talked to us for a while about the bed and breakfast. It was built by hand by the two cousins. They are currently building a small restaurant area. No air conditioning, although the weather was perfect and there are no bugs either! If you want to participate in ecotourism. This bed and breakfast definitely falls into that category as it promotes the social equity and local economy aspect of ecotourism. Definitely recommended!
