This is our first visit to Barossa Valley. It was in my husband's bucket list that we try a glass of Penfolds Grange during our trip. We were delighted to be welcomed by staff member Karen who served us at Penfolds. Thank you for your patience, enthusiasm, knowledge, and kindness. We had a wonderful experience at Penfolds and look forward to drinking our purchased wine at home.
Penfolds. Lovely experience. Tasting $20, money back if you buy a bottle. $50 tasting of the Grange (maybe once in a lifetime) If you love wine great, just passing through great (didn't find it protentious). Staff were really nice and knowledgeable. Thank you Elaine for guiding me through the tasting and all things Penfolds.
Thoroughly enjoyed our wine tasting experience at Penefolds. Annie was very friendly and knowledgeable about all wines. We certainly enjoyed our purchases of Bin 389 with dinner 🍷
My husband and I had an exceptional experience at Penfolds, during our recent visit to the Barossa. The staff provided outstanding service, with Karen leading the way in making our trip truly memorable. In particular, I would like to commend Karen for her remarkable attention to detail and warm hospitality, which significantly enhanced our visit. The tastings were meticulously curated, and the highlights of our trip, including the Grange tasting, were not to be missed. It was a delightful way to celebrate my husband's birthday, and we are grateful for the effort put forth by the team. Such dedication to creating a welcoming atmosphere is commendable and deserves recognition. Extending our gratitude to Karen and the staff for their hard work and commitment to excellence. Thank you once again for an unforgettable experience.
We had the pleasure of visiting Penfolds yesterday. Sad to hear this location is closing in June....you must visit and ask for Meg. Not only did she have the answers to all questions my husband asked, she was outstanding in customer service and very passionate about her job. Thankyou Megs.
This was one of the highlights of our trip to the Barossa. Alannah was an excellent host! She really knew her wines, was engaging, knowledgeable and had good ole fashioned customer service. She even distracted the kids with an activity pack. While it wasn't at a fancy cellar door with views of the vines, it didn't matter. The wine spoke for themselves. $20 redeemable tasting fee, with an option for an additional $50 non redeemable taste of the current year grange, quantum or superblend. The quantum was our favourite wine of the trip. It was certainly a memorable tasting. Thanks Alannah!
Called in today for a tasting and so glad we did. The quality of the wine was only matched by the staff. They were knowledgeable warm & friendly and a special mention to Annie who was delightful, a credit to Penfolds.
We popped in to discover the experience of Penfolds in the Barossa Valley. Cyra was the most amazing host! Thank you. Her knowledge was second to none, her personality and ability to provide amazing customer service is one you really don’t see much any more. If the other staff members learn from her your business will be fabulous! Thank you again Cyra, don’t forget to reference the yeast/bread explanation 😂. From all of us 🙏🏻

It was a blast from the past. I remember Wolf Blass from my life in 1986 when my ex husband proposed to me. We loved Wolf Blass back in the day. I bought 2 bottles of Pinot Giogio for my future. Thank you for your hospitality. Your staff were so nice and fun to be with.
Feb 2025 - Tasting as a couple, the staff were uninterested and seemed like they'd rather be anywhere else. They rushed us through the tasting and didn't offer any information about the wines. Feeling ignored and a burden although they were a little busy they seemed to be disorganised and overwhelmed nut no excuse for such rude and inattentive service. Facilities and restrooms were disgusting! The staff clearly didn't know much about the wines they were serving. They gave us incorrect information. Barely making eye contact appearing annoyed when we asked questions. The wines were overpriced and underwhelming. Please go to your local bottle shop for the same wine are quality prices with higher standards of customer service. The tasting fee was ridiculous, especially considering the poor quality of the wine. We felt completely ripped off. Compared to other wineries in the area that exhibit higher quality wines as to what they charge for tasting experiences. Essentially, this experience was extremely negative, poorly trained and rude staff, lack of information with unhygienic facilities.
Hard to find even using the GPS in the car. When we arrived it wants much of a Winery as a store/visitor centre. Given the worldwide name of the wine I was a little disappointed. However, on the positive side, the architecture of the building and grounds were very good.
Great wine tasting experience and lovely setting. We were lucky to go on a quieter day so it felt more relaxing and could take in more of our surroundings. Wolf Blass wines were regularly on our tables at home in Ireland so it was nice to be able to visit the wineries themselves in Barossa Valley.
This place is pretty big and impressive. It's no wonder that Wolf Blass is global and very popular. They have wines for all budgets and tastes. I really like how they have all their trophies and awards on show. Everything us on display. Plenty of space for tastings. Their desserts looked good too
A nice selection of wines from one of the major players. Staff were friendly and helpful. Possibly more commercial than some of the other Cellar doors, but that is to be expected. We drink Wolf Blass at home, and it was nice to try some samples from the complete range, which isn't available in the UK & Spain.
Haven't visited Wolf Blass for about 20 years. Wow it has changed significantly with a very modern facility now available for the public to taste the wines etc. It is clearly geared for "pre covid" customer levels. Hopefully those days will return soon with international borders now being opened up. Parking is plentiful and the wines are good as ever.
An awesome experience of wine tasting we had at the place. They were really helpful and tried the beat to explain the wines. They have quite a large wine collection and the prices are reasonable as well.

Beautifully restored homestead, with magical garden outlook from the verandah. Our hostess Carolyn was super attentive and very knowledgeable about the region. We had a couple of glasses of the Eden Valley Field blend which was delicious. Had the cheese board and bread with anchovies. A must visit winery. 5 stars.
Winter escape activity. We loved visiting elderton wines. Set in a beautiful home style cellar door . The only advantage to the sun going down early in winter is spending golden hour with a glass of wine on their porch before close. Just lovely and relaxing. The staff were extremely friendly as well.
Strong recommendation for both cellar door experience and the quality of Elderton wine. The ‘21 Command Shiraz is a benchmark wine for me. This is a family owned and run winery producing at the highest level. Bravo to Cameron and Team. From our group you have some loyal customers for life.
Stunning Californian Bungalow, wooden floors, rugs, fire places and lovely wines and cheese platters. Lots of room inside with several areas to relax and enjoy. A lot of history to soak in too. Kids and dogs..not so much. *addit...we brought friends back as we had such a lovely experience with the host. We were sadly disappointed second time. The older lady with the curly grey hair was so frosty. We had arrived at 3pm both days. The first day we had the fire stoked for us and no problems having a platter. The second visit we were declined a platter as they were "finished for the day". She cheerfully waved us off goodbye.
We enjoyed our wine and Cuvée chocolate tasting although the chocolate is overall a bit waxy tasting. It was still fun to have the pairing. The wines were all quite good. A nice touch would be if the owner said a quick hello. We were the only ones in the tasting room when they walked by.
Great winery in the middle of the town, family owned and served with nice real people. They’ve generously offer complimentary tasting for their premium wines. We’ve had a platter and a few glasses of wines which was greatly served and presented. You wouldn’t think of this nice big winery in a town specially for a victorian wine lovers, but absolutely gorgeously designed inside for some lovely quality time with your friends with some separated rooms
We booked the Elderton exceptional Wine Experience on recommendation from the Barossa Big 4 Holiday Park, where we had booked a powered site in our caravan for two nights. The voucher we received from the park was a 2 for 1 deal, providing a $25 discount off the experience we chose. We also ordered a cheese, and a grilled focaccia and Ortiz anchovy plate (definitely order a side plate, especially if you haven’t had much to eat before your booking). We were able to taste 6 wines each, personalised to our personal tastes by our lovely and knowledgeable hostess, Carolyn. She provided lots of information about the history of Elderton and its family owners. We chatted about wine, the Barossa, and things in general. We found the entire experience to be very enjoyable, and unpretentious, as although we love to drink wine, we don’t consider ourselves to be connoisseurs. We purchased three bottles from our tastings - the 2023 Merlot, 2024 Pinto Gris, and the 2024 Grenache Mintaro. The building was really lovely, with a wood fire burning. Another group had the sofas in front of the fireplace, which at first I was a little disappointed that we didn’t have that spot, but by the end of our tasting experience, I would have been burning up, as the reds really warmed us up! 🍷 We will definitely return and highly recommend Elderton Wines.
Thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting experience and the accompanying local cheeses and produce. Our host was very informative and mixed in some fun history. The renovations to the homestead are stunning and it really was a lovely experience. Highly recommend!

Stopped to buy their single vineyard cinsault ,as we tried it at vinters wine bar night before and loved it. Left with 2 doz of there wines . Husband and wife team doing a terrific job . Highly recommended to try arrange a taste of all their wines. We shall be back . Cheers
Visited in 2017.. was amazing. Grabbed a few wines and cellared. Cracked the Shiraz tonight.. it's Divine! (Pun intended) Cheers
My husband and I had such a memorable time here a few years ago talking with the owners about wine (and vinyl 😉) and enjoyed one the best afternoons enjoying fabulous wine and a yummy gourmet platter that we told many of our friends and family since! The love and passion put into their wine shows when you talk to these great people who are truly ones to watch for quality SA wines!!! I have been searching trying to find these amazing people & winemakers were again, the girls and I are coming up and we will make an appointment to come see and buy again, I'm excited to see what you've done in the last 5 years ☺️
Beautiful wines and great platters. An amazing laid back winery for people with families or without. The staff are absolutely lovely and down to earth. Such a fantastic place to come for an hour or two and enjoy the stunning barossa.
The first winery we stopped at on our recent Barossa Wine Tour. Never tried Yelland and Papps prior to our stop and was impressed! A broad range of well priced and uniquely made reds and whites in a variety of styles. Small and family owned with Susan the owner serving us at the cellar door ...... and a most accommodating and convivial host at that! The Second Take Mataro was my favourite, but the cloudy and delicious Second Take Roussanne was also well received. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the Barossa!
Barossa & Light Cab Service love bringing people to Yelland & Papps on wine tour, and believe visiting their cellar door is a "must do" for both tourists and locals. We rate Yelland & Papps 5 out of 5 stars for their wines, hospitality and cellar door experience. Be sure to drop in and see Michael and Amanda soon!
Good Afternoon Michael and Susan, I have just finished a bottle of your amazing 2009 Devote Cabinet Sauvignon. Drinking superbly. Your wine is one of the treasures of the Barossa Congratulations - amazing wine Regards Darren
Picturesque location. Friendly family/staff. Some really nice wines. This should definitely be on your list of Cellar Doors to visit when you're in the Barossa Valley.

We had a tasting this morning and were warmly welcomed by Emma, who was amazing and highly professional. She impressed us with her extensive knowledge, giving us valuable insights into the winemaking process. We tried various wines, each one a delicacy, beautifully crafted with great balance and flavors that lingered wonderfully. The entire experience was perfect: from the venue and atmosphere to the service and, of course, the wines. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team !
Kaesler Winery was a real standout on our Barossa Valley trip. Camryn made our tasting awesome - very knowledgeable and just genuinely pleasant. My favorite was definitely the Age of Light Cab Sav. Highly recommend putting this winery on your must-visit list for the Barossa!
Absolutely wonderful vineyard tour and tasting with a lovely sit down sampling of Kaesler’s premier wines. Camryn was very knowledgeable and educated us on the history of the vineyard and wines.
We had a group wine tour with Nigel; what an absolute legend! He went above and beyond our expectations. You could tell how passionate he was about the vineyards. The wines were absolutely phenomenal as well. Would highly recommend Nigel/Kaesler Wines for anyone in the Barossa Valley area.
We stumbled upon Kaesler Winery while driving through the Barossa Valley and decided to stop in for a tasting. Their standard offer is a flight of five wines, which was a bit more than we could manage at the time. Fortunately, Cameron, the cellar manager, was warm, friendly, and welcoming. She kindly offered us a complimentary tasting and took the time to chat with us about the wines and the region. Her hospitality made the visit memorable and turned what could have been a quick stop into a really pleasant experience. I would definitely recommend trying their signature “Bogan” wine.
The perfect cellar door experience with sensational wines and friendly informative service. The ambiance was warm and inviting as we journeyed on the Barossa Bike trail, a must do when visiting. Our favourite wine of the day was ‘Love Child’, a superb wine which we look forward to enjoying many more times.
An impromptu visit turned into a highlight of my family's trip to the Barossa. Such a beautiful property, with incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff, not to mention the fantastic wines too. Can't recommend enough.
Mothers Day 2023 at Kaelser Wines. The weather was perfect for a wonderful mother’s day celebration in the beautiful gardens of this winery. There was plenty of space for families to celebrate. The gardens were immaculate. Table and chairs were there to use. There was also live music. There was a petting zoo, face painting and puzzles for the children. For the adults there was wine, beer and soft drinks available. Groups could bring their own food. A photographer was on hand, and if one was interested, provided both print and/or digital images for free! The Kaesler Wines hosts were terrific. Worth a visit anytime. (Pop this venue on the calendar for Mother’s Day 2024! You will not be disappointed.)

We stayed in the Press room and we really enjoyed our 3 nights. Modern room and bathroom. Nice and quiet away from the busier town, and at times we had the winery to ourselves where we could stroll through the vineyards and enjoy the lovely deck. The complimentary tasting and breakfast was also nice. Thank you Hewitson Team ☺️
A fantastic experience. Highly recommend! We were looked after by the most lovely French lady called Camille. We had delicious wine and a beautiful cheese board ( lunch). We sat outside overlooking the beautiful vineyard .
Fabulous accomodation, very quite and comfortable. Private guests at a vineyard! Tasting was very good , Frank was very knowledgeable and lovely . All vines were outstanding quality but my favourite was the 23 Lu lu , a Sauvignon Blanc like no other i have tasted ! The grounds are beautiful and well kept . It was great to walk around them in the morning
It was pretty overwhelming looking for accomodation for our Barossa stay but we were so glad we found Hewitson. The location and setting of the accomodation can’t be beaten - as others have mentioned, you have free reign of the vineyard which is just fantastic to explore. The rooms are modern, clean and equipped with quality mattresses and bed linen. We had a couple of mix ups when it came to our room allocation but Dean and Camille were quick and apologetic and extremely accomodating. We were offered a complimentary tasting where we also enjoyed a cheeseboard out on the deck. They have some truly beautiful wines here which we favoured over some of the other local wineries and cellar doors we visited. It was pretty cool to be at the winery whilst the owner (Dean) was on site too! Such a lovely guy and obviously very involved. Thanks so much for a special stay!
Fantastic wine! Met the owner this week in Texas at GrapeFest showcasing his Mourvedre collections. The Old Garden is superb!
We had a fantastic afternoon out on the deck at Hewitson. The wine was beautiful, the scenery was stunning and the service from our host, Molene, was outstanding. I would thoroughly recommend a visit to this winery. Cate
Vist time 1200 12/01/2021 Bland atmosphere. Boring tasting experience. Man who took me and my partners tasting seemed inconvenienced by our arrival even tho no one was there. No interaction and explanation of the wines even tho prompted with questions on the vineyard and history of the establishment. Not worth your time or tasting fee ($50)
Beautiful vineyard and stay - would highly recommend to others. Room was modern and beautiful. Great location and very easy to hire e-bikes and have fun going to other vineyards for tastings. Only improvement I could make would be to offer a continental breakfast but we really enjoyed our stay and excited to return!
