This area is nestled between Coleridge Street, James Street and Synagogue Lane...and was developed and restored to incorporate the Synagogue & museum, the Codd's House Monument, the Fire Brigade House and the Artisans Shops and its surroundings to commemorate this rich history between 8-10 years ago. Even on a windy week, when the water isn't as clear as it can be, we got some decent pics. It's an easy swim from the beach. Just go where the snorkel tours are going and keep an eye on the boats so you don't have issues. One of the ships is covered in a carpet of anemones. A large stingray came by several times when the tour guide was feeding the small fish. The fast ones are mostly Sargent Majors but several others got some of the food. A large French Angel poked out from the deep parts of a ship a couple times but didn't hang around for pictures like they can at times. We snorkeled here last year and got even better pics. This is my favorite snorkel spot on the island. My only issue is after many repetitive dives (I'd guess 30 or more) down to the ships, my ears get difficult to clear. I haven't been anywhere else where snorkeling a single wreck is this good and they have several. My wife enjoys following the bubbles of the divers below. I think it's fun to get down to the diver level and include them in my snorkeling pics.

The Park has well spread out grounds with room for tents, an entertainment stage and an on-site pavilion along with a cricket playing field and kids play area. Having a North and South gate...the park acts as a short cut for pedestrians to get from one side to the other without having to use the busy street outside which has no sidewalks. The park is well maintained with good upkeep of grounds with a nice fountain display into the shape of Barbados and it's parish pedestals signage, just as you would see it on a map. Barbados's oldest tree can be found here with another less aged one in Warrens which I reviewed previously. I recently attended a Father's day event which was quite nice and fun filled for the whole family with games and activities centered around honouring Fathers...a good visit when traversing through the city with nice benches to relax.

I’m a pool guy. I’m also not the strongest of swimmers. But when in Barbados…. I was told by a friend of a friend about GFish. Which is a complete travesty, because this guy (and Mae) need to be advertised everywhere. Initially I went along for a 2hr snorkelling ride. First off, this isn’t your packed tourist boat with music and very little information/handed a set of goggles and off you pop. There’s maybe only 6 of you max. G and Mae spent time explaining where all the sunken boats were in Carlisle Bay, as well as the history behind them. They both make sure you have everything you need and that it all fits and works before you get in the water. Not a strong swimmer? No problem. Floaty jackets are provided and even when you’re in the water, they are with you every step of the way and guide you to each of the sunken ships (and the turtles). Nothing is too much hassle and it’s very laid back. So much so I went back the next day to scuba dive, such was my enjoyment, experience and confidence all thanks to G and Mae. Let me tell you now, I’m hooked. Pre heading down to meet them again, I was 50% excited and 50% terrified. I had nothing to worry about. Before we even looked at scuba tank, safety was the main priority. Nothing was left to chance and because it’s such a personal experience with them, you pick everything up so quickly. There is nothing daunting about this. After some shallow water practice we were loaded and off into the deep. I won’t ruin it for you, but 45 minutes at 50 feet with G and Mae making sure you’re ok every step of the way, is life changing. I genuinely can’t thank them enough and you’d be wise not to consider anyone but these guys. Trust me. You won’t be disappointed. Thanks guys!!!!

We got to see a lot of the island on the tour, four hours or so, from Bridgetown to Speightstown and Holetown, up to the north end of the island at the old lighthouse. We then drove down the east coast, which is less "beachy" but rocky and quite dramatic with scenery, all the way to Bathsheba, where we took our last break/stop at a small cafe. The rock formations were fantastic in the surf. Richard has lots of local knowledge, and was quite helpful, especially since I left my wallet at one stop and he called the place -- we quickly circled back for it. Overall it was a great day!!

Fab guide very informative and took us to places we would never have seen on our own. A full 360 tour of beautiful Barbados. This wasn’t scheduled as we had our previous arrangements changed for to inclement weather but so so glad we did this. There was just the 4 of us on this tour (which is the minimum) but the rum punch was flowing and the tunes were playing it was a fantastic day. We were picked up in the port from our cruise ship and taken to Carlisle beach. We were given free drinks before boarding, lifejackets, masks and snorkels were provided. We visited two wrecks which were teaming we fish. I saw a ray among many others. We then went in search of turtles only saw a baby one (others had seen several today so it's just down to luck. It was a group of us and we also had 5 kids ranging from 3-7years old. We had such an amazing time, the boat crew were sooo good with the kids! Special mention to the girl leading the trip and 'Bingy' he was so patient with the kids, he held 2 of the 4 year olds the whole time they were in the water and he made sure they saw the fish. He was just so relaxed with them and as parents we just appreciated that so much. The food was good, we had fish tacos and the fish wrap. The rum punch on the boat was really good as well.
