Popped over to grab some lunch on New Years Day and go for a swim. So glad we stopped here. Ordered calamari, Spanish meatballs (see pic), beef cheek and ginger beer batter fish. Food was delicious. Portions not too big and price was very reasonable. Washed down with coffee, ginger beer, lemonade and a local brew. Staff were young and friendly, and very professional. Highly recommended. I had never been here before. We went for a friends birthday celebration. From arriving to the venue, to leaving the venue, it was a phenomenally great experience. It's a beautiful looking restaurant with greenery all around. Didn't get to eat from the menu so just had cocktails, also just a tad on the average side for the cocktails, honest opinion, I ordered 4 different cocktails, majority of them were super citrusy, pervy sage, pirate tea very bitter, creme brulee martini was super sweet, I think after these I didn't order any more, the prices for some of the cocktails were a bit on the over side & didn't deliver on the taste side. Half of the conversations we also couldn't hear over the very loud music so we had to yell, but it was a very hyped atmosphere so always a hit with the party goers I guess, not for some!

We entered via the 'black door' entry and we where completely blown away! We saw this door next to an overhead heat bar that had in intricate sign post with the initials BPC, i said to my wife 'pull on that door' and wow it opened into the best speak easy bar I've ever seen. The bartender welcomed us in and showed us the menu. He said if this to your liking i can make you any drink. As it had been a long day i opped for an espresso martini, he counted with an original or maybe one with a hint of orange, jaffe like. We took one of each and they not only tasted amazing but to see a master at work mixing these cocktails was magic. This was the best cocktail experience i have had in my life and to add after our martini's the bartender asked us for our favourite spirit and then made custom cocktails to suit. If you are in Christchurch you MUST find this place and have a drink! Ps.the shared bathrooms add to speak easy feeling you get from this amazing place. By far the best place i have been too on my NZ trip
