The crumb was amazing--gluten had great development, with a nice stretch. Not too sweet, and wonderful flavor. The bread ALSO had a great crumb, which is unusual for a whole grain bread. Makes amazing toast. I haven't tried the cinnamon bun yet. The only slight disappointment was the ham & cheese croissant. Not bad, but nothing special there. It doesn’t take reservations so you have to arrive early. We were seated within 5 minutes - we got there before six. The wait for outside on a Saturday was 25 mins. We chose inside mainly because it was a windy day. We ordered Cauliflower Arrabiata, Calamari (one of the best prepared fried calamari I have tested - Calabrian sauce went well), salmon and the sleeping beauty Alfredo. Each dish tasted fantastic. First off, the service is 5 Star! Super attentive and present. Our glasses never less than half full. Onto the food! The bread with oil and vinegar was so flavorful. My wife had the chicken parm and I had the Penne Sausage with Marinara. Both surpassed our expectations. My wife said the Alfredo with her chicken parm was one of the best she has had. We took raspberry cheese cake and a triple chocolate slice to the hotel and both were on par with Michelin Star level quality.

A convenient walk from the waterfront. Big garage door style windows open up on sunny mornings. Order at counter. Find a table. Pour your own black coffee. Buss your table when you're finished. Can get a bit busy, so be prepared to wait a bit of it's a busy morning, but the food is worth it! Scrumptious big, fat homemade English muffins make for great breakfast sandwiches. The waffles are amazing, as is the yogurt and homemade granola. The iced coffee is some of the better cold brew I've tasted. Best part; starting your morning here will cost far less some of the other quality breakfast spots in town. Open for lunch as well, but we're usually on the water by then, so cannot speak to lunch (have seen lunch dishes, and they look great). Plenty of local artists work featured on the walls (for purchase if interested) give this cafe a vibrant, interesting and colorful flair. Easy walk down to the waterfront from here, and very close to train depot if you're taking a scenic train ride up to Moun Hood. Definitely worth a stop. Might just become one of your favorites too!
