Nature preserve
The Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area is a stunning 80-mile canyon along the Columbia River, boasting breathtaking waterfalls and unique wildlife. It is one of the most photographed natural reserves in the United States. Visitors can enjoy a scenic drive along the oldest highway in the country, with stops at panoramic viewpoints including the Bonneville Dam Sturgeon viewing center. The area offers a variety of hiking trails suitable for different skill levels, some of which are wheelchair accessible.
One of the best roadside waterfalls in all of my travels! Cascade Locks Historical Museum is a great place to stop FIRST to see if they have day passes available for the Falls. Especially if you didn't go online to pre book. The Oregon Pony and nine finger doll are worth the price of admission to the Museum, but if they have a day pass, it's priceless. But back to the falls. Parking is limited but for the most part people are friendly in the lot and you can wait a bit for someone to leave, you are able to circle the lot so try all the way down and around. The parking lot in the middle of the highway has more turnover. The small lot in front of the restaurant is almost always full and the lot just down the road and on the right hand side is tight. Some people get creative and are willing to walk and park in the coves along the road plus or minus a half mile on the falls river road. Once you get to the falls it is a short very up hill walk to the bridge but worth it. The views of the falls from the middle of the highway parking lot is very nice for anyone that can't make the hike in.

Absolutely beautiful. The Visitor Center has basic amenities, and theres a restaurant & coffee stand as well. You can walk/hike as far as you want, path is clearly paved and is suitable for all ages, depending on where you stop. Would definitely recommend visiting!
Deniz N — Google review
Beautiful waterfalls and views are amazing. I went on a very rainy Saturday in November. Multnomah Falls was very busy and you had to pay to park. The rest of the falls had very few people around them and plenty of parking.
James G — Google review
Absolutely stunning. Recommend going earlier in the morning to avoid the crowds. Especially if you plan on going on the hikes, the trails can be quiet narrow and points without guard rails on the hike to the lookout point. Bring non slip shoes, the trails can be slippery with the moisture and leave litter.
Korbin M — Google review
Totally worth it! However parking was at a premium! We finally found parking at the Horsetail Waterfall. This is an easier and shorter hike. Very enjoyable. Stunning views!

Biking through the Columbia River Gorge is one of the most scenic and refreshing experiences imaginable. 🚴‍♀️🌲 Every turn reveals another postcard-perfect view — waterfalls cascading beside the trail, dramatic cliffs, and endless stretches of forest meeting the river. The path is well maintained, with a great balance of gentle rides and more challenging stretches for those wanting a bit of adventure. It’s the kind of ride where you can stop often just to take in the views (and you absolutely should). The mix of fresh air, natural beauty, and peaceful rhythm of the ride makes this trail unforgettable. Whether you’re a serious cyclist or just out for a scenic ride, the Gorge biking trail is pure Oregon magic.
Stacey H — Google review
The Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, a breathtaking natural corridor in the Pacific Northwest, offers a dramatic blend of towering cliffs, roaring waterfalls, lush forests, and expansive river vistas. Its accessibility and endless exploration make it a must-visit destination. What sets the Gorge apart is its unique landscape, shaped by ice-age floods and the relentless forces of wind, water, and time. The contrast between the dense green forests on the Oregon side and the rolling golden hills on the Washington side, with the mighty Columbia River stretching between them like a silver ribbon, creates a stunning visual spectacle. Key highlights and must-see attractions include: - Multnomah Falls: The most renowned waterfall in the Gorge, a magnificent 620-foot, two-tier cascade. Despite its popularity, it’s worth the visit. - Latourell, Wahkeena, and Horsetail Falls: Accessible and picturesque, these falls offer excellent loop hikes that take you from streamside trails to high viewpoints. - Vista House at Crown Point: A classic stop providing sweeping views of the entire river corridor. - Dog Mountain (Washington): A challenging hike that rewards you with massive spring wildflowers and panoramic views of the Gorge. - Rowena Crest (Oregon): Iconic horseshoe curves and sweeping golden scenery, especially stunning at sunrise or during spring bloom. - The Historic Columbia River Highway: A scenic drive filled with viewpoints, stone bridges, and waterfall trailheads. Outdoor activities abound in the Gorge, catering to various interests. Whether you’re seeking adventure, tranquility, or simply a chance to immerse yourself in nature, the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area offers an unforgettable experience. The Gorge, a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, offers a plethora of activities such as hiking, cycling, windsurfing, kiteboarding, fishing, and scenic driving. Nestled in the heart of the region, Hood River stands as one of the best outdoor towns, boasting an array of breweries, cafés, and gear shops to complement your adventure. The Gorge’s atmosphere and scenery are nothing short of captivating. From the dramatic cliffs that rise sharply above the water to the evergreen forests draped in moss, cascading waterfalls plunging through basalt canyons, and the ever-changing weather and light, every corner of the Gorge presents a unique spectacle. Spring, in particular, transforms the landscape into a vibrant tapestry of green, creating an enchanting and magical ambiance. While some areas may require timed permits during peak seasons, particularly around Multnomah Falls, planning ahead ensures a smooth and enjoyable experience. The unpredictable weather of Oregon, characterized by sudden shifts from sunny to rainy, adds to the allure of the Gorge. It creates a dynamic and alive landscape that keeps visitors on their toes. While major waterfalls attract crowds, the Gorge offers a plethora of quieter trails and lesser-known spots for those seeking solitude and tranquility. Whether you’re an adrenaline junkie or a nature lover, the Gorge promises an unforgettable adventure.

Wahclella Falls Trail was a fantastic easier hike. Pretty rocky with some cliffs and a few steep sections but overall not bad. Multnomah falls were definitely worth checking out too, Great accessibility there.

This place is beautiful, well maintained, and a must-see when visiting Hood River. There are 360° views with trails throughout. When the wind surfers are out, it's a big bonus. Definitely will be a regular stop for us.

There is a big open area with shops and restaurants. Plenty of area to room. Kids playground. Wind surfers are fun to watch.

Amazing location for a picnic! There’s ample parking spot. If you don’t find a spot near the park you can find a spot a block away at the commercial zone near the restaurants

Lots of breweries and small eating venues. Parking is a pain . Adding new lots but all make you pay. Parking at the " hook costs money as well. Its a nice place other than the smell from the sewer treatment plant to the west nd the Tofu factory in the middle. Just be prepared for lots of people. Especially on event weekends. Its a world renowned place for windsurfers.

Very nice park. There are lots to do for everyone. I cant wait to come back when it is a little warmer.

Such a beautiful park. There is so much to do from swimming to kayaking to the children's playground. There are public restrooms but they were not very well maintained, so that was the only downside. So many food trucks and dining options around that we didn't have a problem there. The park itself is very clean and well maintained. A plus for tesla owners is that there is a supercharger right across the street from it.

KickStand Coffee & Kitchen is a popular hangout spot in Hood River, offering a unique combination of a coffee shop, bar, restaurant, and bike shop all in one place. Located just outside downtown on State Street towards the Heights, it's always buzzing with activity. The outdoor patio with fireplaces is perfect for live music nights and gatherings. This kid and dog-friendly spot also serves fresh donuts daily.
This is a versatile and fun place to enjoy a meal. The fried chicken is excellent whether it is served by itself or as a sandwich. The sauce and pickles and bun and greens are all spot on. Highly recommend. The "smash" burger I do have to take issue with. It does not seem to be a smash burger at all. In fact it seems like a prefab patty. If they had just not called it a smash burger I would give it a solid 4/5. All of the toppings were good, it was cooked perfectly, I love Cali gold style bbq sauce so it's a winner there, the bun is soft and delicious, greens are delicate and fresh, the bacon is thick and of great quality. It checks all of the boxes for a nice pub style burger but please don't feel the need to call it a smash burger because that, it most definitely is not. The fries here are also unique and good. Their shape makes me want to call them chips like in the British sense not Lays. They also gave us a house made bacon maple doughnut which I thought was cute. I've only been here a couple times but I am looking forward to trying the coffee and cocktails. I'm still giving 5 stars because I have so much respect for this establishment, but the nomenclature of the hamburger rubs me the wrong way.

Went for brunch around 9:30 on a Saturday. Not too busy with a nice fire pit outside to sit by. Iced Latte was decent but nothing crazy. Counter service, no table service other than bringing food to your table. Fried Chicken and Waffles were a 10/10. Crispy and juicy chicken with fantastic honey butter. Wife got the avocado toast, she gave it a 9/10. Goat cheese was a nice touch, would give it a 10/10 if it had some sort of sauce, like a balsamic glaze or something to that effect. Would happily go back again.

Three cheers for Kickstand! This place has to be my favorite vegan-friendly brunch spot in Hood River. Bonus points for bike culture, they are connected to a rad local bike shop too. If you are visiting, be sure to check out their Gorge Guide, it has lots of great ideas for activities in the area. Looking forward to coming back here on our next Hood River vacation

Outstanding!! I've been looking for a truly excellent burger in Portland for some time. Tried so many places, lots of good burgers, but extraordinary until today. The BBQ smash burger just blew me away. So much flavor. Perfectly cooked. Great bun. It hit all the marks. And these French fry petal things? Never seems these before and loved them. Also, the Elote guacamole was excellent too. House-made chips, great avocados, chipotle sauce. So good. I can't wait to go back.

Excellent food, terrible service. You will be asked to pay for food and tip before you are served. After delivering our food to the table, we never saw our server again unless you count the time I got up to go ask for a refill. No one ever came to the table to even ask how the food was. Word to the wise, don’t tip until after you are served.

Amazing Food. The coolest drinks. I got the avocado tacos and my boyfriend got the Poké bowl. Both were absolutely delicious. I also got the prickly pair of Mezcalita which was one of the coolest drinks I’ve ever had.

We have eaten here a couple of times, but after our meal tonight my 6 year old daughter says, mom you have to leave a 5 star review this time. We have never been disappointed, but man, tonight's food was SO good. They are always generous portions, you can tell they use quality ingredients and I think they make their own pickles ?? Amazing. Also gluten free bun tasted fresh, which is hard to find at most restaurants. So thankful for a quality restaurant that does food right ! The price is expensive, but most everywhere you go these days its spendy. At least this place makes it worth spending my money somewhere!

Egg River Café is a charming country-style eatery with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, adorned with delightful country decor. The menu offers a variety of hearty breakfast and brunch options, including organic coffee and lighter fare like steel-cut oatmeal with organic fruit. The café is known for its delicious home-cooked meals, such as the Florentine Eggs Benedict and the flavorful home-style potatoes with onions and peppers. Additionally, it provides a full bar option with well-thought-out cocktail choices.
Small town rest with their own vibe. Be aware - front parking have only 4 spots, but they have extra lot right across the street. We tried regular hamburger and mt.Adams burger - both are delicious

We wanted to try this place for a long time! We were in the area, so decided to give it a try. Got there right when it opened, very few people were there besides us. Prices are high, but isn’t everything? I ordered a scramble with sausage and bacon. Hubby ordered pancakes, bacon and eggs. Everything was good. Service was good too. Fun place with lots of fun decor. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

We had the pleasure of grabbing a quick breakfast at Egg River Cafe yesterday.. it's one of those places you're not quite sure about when arriving. However, parking was difficult to find so we took that as a good thing. The cafe was packed. We were seated at the very last available table. For a little place their menu was extensive. I decided to go with smoked salmon eggs Benedict. It really was delicious! The hollandaise sauce was very flavorful and the salmon was not too "smoky." The balance was perfect for me. To offset the richness I asked for fruit rather than hash browns. While waiting it's fun to take in all the chicken decor... And it's a lot! They are everywhere.. including the rest room!! The cafe is small but there is some outside seating. Plus surprisingly they have a well stocked bar. Our check was really reasonable.. something like $42.00. We did not have drinks so I'm not sure what they're priced like. Anyway, give this little place a try, it's well worth getting off the road for!

We have been wanting to try this restaurant for quite some time. Unfortunately we picked Veteran's Day and it was packed. Our server was friendly, helpful, and informative, but the service was very slow, I'm sure due to the number of people in the restaurant. I also believe our food was sitting on a warming table or in the kitchen for a while because it came out not as hot as it should have been, and the fruit plate with my veggie omelette was fairly pathetic. The California croissant with the potatoes and avocado was excellent.

We had just spent a couple of days in the Gorge and were looking for a place to grab breakfast before heading home. We chose this place because of the menu and let me tell you; we made the absolute best choice. The food here is AMAZING. AMAZING. We enjoyed the country fried steak, biscuits and gravy, and eggs Benedict. YUM! Everything tasted so fresh and homey, just what we wanted. The coffee was delicious, too. Service was friendly and professional. We will definitely be back. Heck, we might drive out from Portland JUST to have another delicious breakfast here.

The Western Antique Aeroplane and Automobile Museum (WAAAM) is a treasure trove for enthusiasts of vintage vehicles, showcasing an impressive collection of restored cars and planes from the 1920s and 1930s across two expansive hangars. Visitors may initially feel overwhelmed by the sheer size of the museum, which continues to grow with each visit. The dedicated staff and friendly volunteers enhance the experience, offering fascinating stories about the exhibits as they roam around on scooters.
Great experience for all ages. Among the cars and airplanes you will find antiques of all types, stories and photos. Beautiful displays. Everything is sparkling clean and you can get up close, too. We got to meet the founder as he was crusing around and enjoyed a conversation about how this all came together, how they keep it going (it's a nonprofit) and big plans for continued growth.

We arrived for their annual Fly-in. It is always an excellent event. The museum itself is phenomenal. The variety of airplanes, antique cars and various other collections are mind boggling but, incredibly well curated, so not too overwhelming. Their staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. On the fly-in weekend, anywhere from 200 - 400 vintage airplanes fly in from all over the country. There are some flight demonstrations, author talks, you can pay to fly in a vintage airplane, plus lots more exhibits, food and souvenirs. The museum is worthy of a visit any time but, during the fly-in it is extra wonderful.

Very nice place to visit. We really enjoyed seeing so much planes, cars and a OTHER items and occasional videos to watch in the hangers. I really liked that most ALL the pieces and cars and such are in exquisit PRESTINE condition. _ like WOW!!!!. A few Things I wasn't very happy about; 1. that they are quite PRICEY. $25 for adults, like $21 for military or active duty people or seniors and 18_ under is like $12. EACH. no family mates, no EBT discounts. Nothing! 2. For the amount they charge, i would THINK that there shouldn't have to be big old drip pans under all the equipment. ESPECIALLY with some of them have obviously been leaking pretty bad. Thry Charge so much, but cant at a bare minimum clean the drip pans so there isn't so much contaminant around. It does detract from the wow of the pieces. 3. While looking around, the " volunteer" guys in the scooters kept coming around. OK_ they already tell you "if you need something or have a question to flag them down and they will be happy to answer any queations..." I DONT have any questions you don't have to b_line for me every time you go down the rows and point out something or make some comment about a piece. YES it IS very cool!! BUT- unless I (ASK) for info or such, i dont need someone tailgating me_ like you have to check on us like were DOING or "TOUCHING" something. It seriously takes a negative toll on the experience. At the same time; at one point my children were really Awing over an electric car from like over 100 years ago; the volunteer came over and pulled back the chain did a bit of describing and let my kids get a much closer view of the car interior, that was pretty cool!
A L — Google review
This was really cool. You can get lost in all of them. I only covered 1/3 of the items. In two hours. Lots to see. And a great bbq food cart, highly rated. And if you really want to go up in a triplane you can. Good family fun!!!!

This is the most complex museum I've been to. It's easier to ask "what don't you have!" A Deusenburg one docent told me! You have to experience this place. Be prepared to spend a couple hours if not more. We came across this place accidentally and were totally blown away!

The beans are roasted on-site and are Certified Organic and Fair Trade whenever possible. In addition to their high-quality coffees, they also offer latte art, creative concoctions, smoothies, and hold free public coffee cuppings twice a month.
The coffee was nice. They have a single origin specialty coffee. You will need to ask for it specifically else they will get you the espresso blend. I think the shot was pulled a little long but the coffee was very nice overall. It’s a nice location near the water and kite/wing spot. The staff was very friendly. Prices are on the higher side but I guess Hood River is a bit of a posh spot these days.

Clean with a variety of drinks, this coffee roaster is on the waterfront. We had a matcha, latte and cortado. Our cousin thought the matcha was ok as they just use a powder. I ordered a decaf and they gave me a regular although they weren't busy. Not a big deal, but I suggest verifying your order.

I ordered the Blossom Latte (rose + vanilla), and it was absolutely perfect. I was skeptical about this combination at first because I've never tried a rose-flavored drink before. But I couldn't stop after one sip. This had both great aroma and taste. They have window seats with a view of the river, bar seats with a view of the coffee roasting machine, and table seats that are good for laptop users. Their interior is very modern and fancy, and their restroom is very clean. I want to visit again!

Service was prompt and upbeat! Jesse was my server and he’s a chill dude. Super nice and helpful. The Pho and Salad Rolls were on point. The broth of the soup was amazing! In and out in under 30min and Im back on the road. Thanks Jesse & Pho River! Ill be back!

I’m Thai and been craving for home food, this place is the best so far for the taste of South East Asia food. This “Bing Seen” is even better than what i had at home with the stick rice it is perfect. Together with fast and friendly service, totally recommend this place.

Wonderful customer service. Waiter was super friendly and made us feel very welcome. We were in the mood for a great plate of food and these guys exceeded our expectations. Vegan Pho was awesome and Pad Thia was fabulous. I will go back again many times.

Sandwich shop
New York City Sub Shop is a low-key counter-serve chain that has been a local favorite since 1989. The subs are named after NYC neighborhoods and are known for being big, delicious, and served quickly. Visitors can pair their Manhattan sub with local ciders from the nearby Crush Cider Cafe. While the bread quality may vary, the sandwiches are unique in taste and filling. The shop offers hot subs with generous portions of meat, including fantastic options like the Cheese Steak and Manhattan sandwich.
Pulled off the 84 for something to eat. Really wanted a sandwich and this place delivered. Fast friendly service. Bread was bomb. Got the Manhattan and the Bronx. Killed both in record time. Cookies are A+. You can’t go wrong trying this place out.
Keith G — Google review
We stopped in for lunch while traveling from PDX to Idaho and were pleasantly surprised! The staff was incredibly friendly and our food came out quickly. The subs were delicious—fresh and flavorful. We also enjoyed the outdoor seating area, which was clean and comfortable. Definitely a great spot for a quick and tasty bite on the road. We'll absolutely be back!

Stopped by New York Sub Shop in Hood River and was seriously impressed. The team working there was super friendly and had some great sandwich recommendations. I went with The Manhattan — and it did not disappoint. The meat was grilled to perfection, and you could tell everything from the bread to the baked goods was fresh and made with care. Honestly, by the end of the day, I was already craving another one of their sandwiches. A must-stop if you’re in the area and love a solid, satisfying sub. Can’t wait to come back!

I've been coming here on and off for a few years now when I visit town. I'm not sure what happened but it seems like quality has fallen off. I ordered the cheese steak sub and it's not like any other cheese steak I've had. It's 90% lettuce with a very small portion of meat inside. It's also mostly dry with no melted cheese. See my photo. It's also $20 for this.
Brian T — Google review
Excellent sandwiches and super friendly staff. Plus, plenty of seating indoors and out. Hood River is full of places with "house made" cured this or that - but sometimes you just want a sandwich, chips and a drink. We were in Hood River for 5 days and ate here twice. It's genuinely really, really good

Excellent sandwiches, friendly & quick service, and quality ingredients. Couldn't really ask for more, and it certainly delivers in a way most fast food does not. The bread was excellent! There are some tables and chairs for dining outside, and you can also order food for pick up.

Restaurant
3 Rivers Grill is an upscale restaurant in Hood River, offering French-influenced American cuisine with stunning views of the Columbia River. The restaurant is located in a charming clapboard home on Oak Street and features a heated covered patio and deck for outdoor dining. Guests can savor organic, Northwest-specific dishes such as hazelnut-encrusted chicken and local steelhead couscous while enjoying the award-winning wine list showcasing selections from independent wineries in the region.
A beautiful Diamond in Hood River. Worth every dollar. The salmon dish is my fave. The gazpacho they had was amazing (chef make that again in summers and thank you). Amazing service!

We got the filet mignon and the beef steak medallions! I ordered it medium rare and it definitely was cooked well done. We didn’t get asked how it was until after we finished our plates. The server was friendly but maybe had too many tables. The peanut butter cake was divine and I would definitely go back for that!!!! Gorgeous sunset view eating outside!

Fantastic place that well exceeded our expectations! Great outdoor seating with a view. Expansive menu with lots of excellent choices. Bruschetta was the best I've ever had anywhere. Same highest compliments to seared ahi tuna. My wife was very pleased with her halibut. This place is a real gem. 10 out of 10.
Boris L — Google review
Fine dining in a simple, elegant setting, with very good service. The Blackened Salmon Caesar is fresh caught King Salmon, done to perfection. Try the Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake, it is excellent. The wine list is moderate in length, and diverse.
J. M — Google review
Service is fabulous, view is great, and they do a nice presentable. However, they are big fans of raw onions (it isn't mentioned as an ingredient on the menu) and steaming. If that's your thing- then you'll likely enjoy this restaurant more than I did. I like my onions sautéed and prefer things to be pan seared or grilled for flavor and texture. The seasonal vegetables being steamed made it feel like they were from the school cafeteria- all the flavors bland and the texture of something too hard and others mushy. The potatoes were sculpted beautifully, but mine were cold and lacking flavor. I had the halibut and it was only slightly overcooked- which a bit rubbery is preferable to undercooked! So everything was okay- but nothing was great- other than the service. The service was lovely, everyone was attentive and helpful. The view is anak pretty fabulous, even from inside! I had wonderful company for my lunch and really enjoyed my time at this establishment, Just wish I loved the food so I'd have a good reason to go back. Oh- the carrot cake was fabulous That was impressive- especially the icing. The flourless chocolate cake was also warn, rich, and delicious. The cheesecake says "du jour" (of the day)- but is a standard New York style that tasted and had the texture of something that had been in the fridge for a week... so I don't recommend that.

This was a divine dining experience following our apple tasting date. WOW! Delicious food and excellent friendly staff. I danced as I ate my mushroom ravioli with parmasean sauce. 🤌We got dessert to go and, OH MY! The raspberry creme brulee was out of this world. Highly recommend stopping here! My husband and 3 other people around us got the Cajun seafood pasta. All seemed pleased. This is a great spot for a date night. They have indoor and outdoor seating with heaters AND blankets available. Twinkle lights to top it all off. ✨️

Simple and excellent Fine dining we were looking for, yet simple enough to feel like at home. We simply asked to be fed, left selection up to the waiter - and he didn’t disappoint! Worth every dollar!!!

Saw 999 reviews, so I had to leave one. From the table snooping I did to others waiting for my drinks, there doesn't look like a single dish this place does poorly. The salmon burger with fries and the mixed berries cobbler are pictured and both were fantastic. I don't typically hit the same restaurant up twice when I am traveling, but I would make an exception for this one.

Guests can enjoy an array of delectable American and Italian cuisine made from the finest seasonal and organic ingredients sourced from local purveyors whenever possible.
I visited Soltice wood Fire pizza & bar from Tijuana, Mexico, and it was a great experience. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The restaurant is cozy, with tables inside and outside, perfect for any budget. I ordered the Coho Salmon pizza and the Siragusa Pear pizza, plus a pasta that was the monthly special and everything was 🤤 . The service was very fast and the waiters were super friendly. Also, the town of Hood River is beautiful, quiet, and a very nice place to walk and enjoy. I really recommend this restaurant if you want good food, a nice place, and great service. Definitely I will come back asap!

You might in fact take flight with how windy it is sitting on the patio. However, it can be very refreshing. The drinks are definitely a mix of interesting flavor combos and look bright and airy. The caesar salad was alright but the croutons were almost too tough to eat. The pizza is great! They also have a food truck around the corner that you can grab food and soft serve from. The waitress was very friendly and attentive to our needs and was sure to get our check very quickly, as we realized our parking was about to run out of time.

They were very busy on a Saturday around lunch. They have more than one vegetarian pizza. Pizza was pretty good. They have a progress pride flag out front but have gendered bathrooms. It would make a trans person I know more comfortable if it wasn't gendered.

Wonderful pizza, gluten free crust was nice, thin and crisp! Had a great flavor in and of itself and they have some great selections of fun pizza toppings. And a really good GF Pilsner beer. The food was amazing! We ordered the arancini off the regular menu and a chanterelle mushroom tart off the seasonal specials menu. Both were fantastic. We ordered a siragusa pear pizza off the regular menu and a chanterelle and grape pizza off the seasonal specials menu. The flavors were perfect and the cook was spot on. The crust is so light and airy and has amazing flavor. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Hood River and plan on making it a regular visit when in town! A must try for sure and worth going out of your way to try!

pFriem Family Brewers is a popular brewery located on the waterfront in Hood River, Oregon. It is known for its housemade craft beers and light bites, as well as offering apparel, gifts, and growlers. The brewery has garnered acclaim for its impeccable sours and crisp ales influenced by German, Belgian, and American brewing traditions.
We live in the Portland metro area and my wife visited the Hood River location 7 months ago with all her girlfriends. She brought me along this time. Lucky me 😄 We are looking forward to trying the Milwaukie outpost soon. Our server Tami was absolutely delightful! The food was on point, looking amazing and super delicious too. Would definitely recommend anybody to visit. There are a lot of options for gluten-free food, which I am grateful ❗ Hmm ..If you made a gluten-free beer option I would give you 10 Stars 🤩

We are so glad we found this spot! Came here with our large dog who they were happy to have. Food was delicious- the elote salad with chicken was so good along with the pimento cheese burger, you can taste the fresh ingredients. Beer was also delicious, got the fresh hope pale. Camille G was our server and she was excellent!! Gave us wonderful travel recommendations and even better service. A must try place, especially if traveling with your furry friend!

We’ve been wanting to come here for years, and it did not disappoint. Obviously, the beers were amazing and the food was so good. Whatever I was expecting - this exceeded it. I had the jagerschnitzel, which I have to have every time I see it anywhere. It literally was the best Ive ever had. Better than grandmas. (Sshh) The eating area was smaller than expected, but it was welcome. It is a brewery, not a restaurant, and the smaller area made it seem more intimate and special. We bought some beers we haven’t found at home. Our waiter was personable and great at his job. Definitely will be back and bringing friends.

Loved this brewery!! Great location right along the river within walking distance to the park across the street. Great staff. Food was incredible- gluten free fish and chips- I was thrilled! Our waitress was also phenomenal!

Popular with knowledgeable servers and a variety of seasonal pours. Pub food is above average with atypical items such as green chili verde as well as typical dishes like fish and chips. A map on the menu shows where they have sourced ingredients regionally. For beer enthusiasts, this is the place in Hood River.

pFriem always has some interestingly flavored beers. So it is great to get a flight when you come. They also serve up delicious food. We got the sausage links and braised Verde pork. Both excellent options but if you go, get the pork. It was delicious

What a great place! Had the Czech dark pilsner and the Oktoberfest, both were excellent! And the food.... omg the food.... Had the special, sauerbraten, and it was melt in your mouth delicious. Not as good as my Oma's, but she was born and raised in Germany, so that's a tough bar. Absolutely go drink this beer and eat this food!

I love Fries beer and buy it back in Portland but the brewery highlight really is the food! I had the jerseys chicken sandwich and my friend had one of the specials which was pork shoulder wrap. Both dishes were amazing. I love that they also had side option of watermelon, something lighter than fries. Service is amazing and our server was super helpful with order recommendations. I wish I remembered to take a pic of the food but we dug right in I will definitely be back next time im in Hood River. If youre going for lunch id recommend going slightly early like 11-1130am because a little after 12pm there was a line/wait list to get in. I totally understand why.

Great place to grab food and beer on a nice day. Sit out on the patio and enjoy the beautiful view and delicious food. Grab some of the amazing food, chicken sandwich and burgers are highly recommended. They also have some decent salad options for those looking for something lighter. Was also happy to find a brewery that serves beer in 10oz glasses for those looking for a smaller sip of beer. Speaking of beer, they have a great selection, but I'm partial to the Czech pilsner, one of the best! If you're in Hood River or just passing through on the way to Portland, stop here and spend an hour.

Stopped by during a roadtrip. Great spot overlooking the river. Food was great and not just boring, conventional bar food. We had a spinach beet salad and it was amazingly dressed with Dijon vinaigrette. Felt a bit rushed to finish my beer/food by the staff, but overall good experience.

Awesome spot right on the water in Hood River. The view from the patio is hard to beat — lots of seating, fire pits, and just a chill atmosphere overall. Great place to relax after a hike or a day out on the river. I had the falafel banh mi, which was way better than I expected from a brewery kitchen — super flavorful, fresh, and the bread was perfect. Beer-wise, I tried the Bright West IPA and The Sentinel — both were excellent in totally different ways. Bright West was crisp and easy drinking, and The Sentinel had more depth and a nice maltiness to balance it out. Service was friendly and low-key, and the space itself is really clean and modern without trying too hard. It's got a laid-back but well-thought-out vibe. Definitely a place I'd come back to

Quality food and AMAZING service. There are PLENTY of delicious vegan and omnivorous options for apps and entrees, enhanced by a stunning view of the river. She took our dietary restrictions seriously and guided us through the menu. I hope management sees this and extends our family’s gratitude! P.S. the potato salad is VEGAN and it is excellent

Try the Fro-yo Chocolate Chip Cookie Sandwich! It’s delicious! There is indoor seating, and outdoor seating with a huge fire pit. My group also enjoyed the brussel sprouts, French fries, grilled cheese! Although it was busy when we went, staff handled it well. My cookie sandwich was fast and the rest of the food came out in a reasonable timeframe for the number of customers there.

10/10 atmosphere. 2nd floor has large patio with fire pit for dogs. Order at the window so you don't have to leave your pup. Inside no dogs. I had the blueberry mocktail and Falafel Bahn Mi. The mocktail could have been a little sweeter. And I didn't love the Falafel (Minimalist Baker Falafel has ruined all Falafel for me!) But the bun and sauce was amazing. It was very rich and I was worried I might get an upset after but I didn't! Yay! I eat a blander, low greasy/butter diet, so a lot of restaurant food doesn't sit well with me. But this was ok! Lots of 3 hour street parking but it was Monday during off season. Definitely would go back!

Nice chill area to swim or sun bathe with close proximity to good food. Water is nice and not too cold during summer. And you can swim pretty far out and it's not too deep. When it's windy, you can also see tons of people kite surfing. And the playgrounds nearby are quaint and have tons of kids

Nice place to wing foil. Mostly suited for beginners. Grassy rigging area and clean bathrooms. Not much shade. The port of Hood River charges 2.75/hr parking but it’s nice being very close to launch. The annoying downside is when they’re (often) giving wave runner assisted lessons, they’re zipping in and out of the same launch as everyone else and they can be a menace. The really should relocate the wave runners.

Bar
Camp 1805 Distillery & Bar is a unique distillery that challenges the traditional notion of whiskey. They use local berries to create a distinct flavor profile for their spirits. The bar offers a variety of cocktails such as the White Manhattan and 100 Lashes, both made with white whiskey. Visitors can enjoy cozy cabins with waterfront views, making it an ideal spot to unwind. The establishment also serves delicious food and provides excellent service, ensuring a memorable experience for guests.
Camp is the only true cocktail bar in Hood River. They pretty much make everything in house aside from the maraschino cherries. They have a small distillery on site and the staff has been the same for the last couple of years, which is always challenging to do in the food and beverage industry and a testament to ownership and management. The David Bowie and Aztec Ruins are personal favorites... as are the nachos and grilled cheese w/ tomato soup. If you can make it for happy hour, which runs until 6 PM (a true rarity these days) you'll find most of the crowd favorite drinks and some of the best food items on the menu... and, they are not pared down nor skimped on. Always fun to sit at the bar and watch some really beautiful drinks be made. Bottom line: really like the product, staff and location can't be beat. Kudos.
Andres O — Google review
We love to visit Hood River, but came into town and weren’t in the mood for brew pub fare. Camp 1805 was intriguing and we’re so glad we chose it. Laid back atmosphere with great food and high quality, unique cocktails was just what we were looking for and we found it. The bartender, Aaron, was knowledgeable and engaging. We had a great time and will definitely be back.

Great stop after a few hours on the water learning my new found sport-wind surfing. The apps are great for sharing. Hummus dish was spot on- very tasteful. Cocktail reviews were mixed- I didn’t like my old fashion- taste just wasn’t there. That pineapple foam for the margarita stole the show- delicious. Food (Entree) was just ok. Really enjoyed apps and cocktails the most. Would give it a 2nd try.. really enjoyed the outdoor seating.

I'm fairly new to the area & we try to check out different spots on the weekends. We really wanted to try this place because the menu looked great, but we read a bunch of bad reviews with snarky comebacks from the owner...which kinda made me want to try it even more. 😏 And I'm sooooo glad we did!!!! We were warmly greeted as we entered & seated immediately (not expected for a Friday night at prime dinner/drinks hour). We ordered drinks & our meals almost immediately after we finished reading the menu & it was delivered in standard timing (no long wait even though it was crowded). The non-alcoholic drink I ordered was refreshing & delicious (sorry I can't remember which one it was!). Above all else, my Summer Poke & Rice Bowl was friggin' DELICIOUS! Flavors were light & blended so well together! It was exactly what I wanted. And Tlthe waitress was so sweet after we were done, with the right amount of friendly & professional. All around...I don't know what the heck those other reviewers were smokin' but I know we'll definitely be back!
Jami E — Google review
The drinks are creative, big, delicious, and fairly priced. The food menu is small but perfect for pairing with a cocktail. The steak sandwich and pretzel bites are YUM! If you haven't yet, check them out!

We didn’t know what we wanted to eat passing by all the waterfront restaurants and then we saw nachos— NACHOS! And landed on our spot. I only wish we were hungrier and added the meat! Even still, we had an amazing time packing these away. And the drinks were spectacular too. I had pineapple foam on mine and he had salt foam. I don’t pretend to understand what that is, but we liked it all the same.
Mae O — Google review
We came to camp 1805 on a hot afternoon a couple days ago. We had no wait for a table since we got there right when they opened. We ordered the Brussels sprouts, pork nachos, and a braised pork hoagie type thing. It was all pretty good food- I loved the fennel pollen on the brussels sprouts, and the pork was nice and smoky on the nachos. The drinks weren't our favorite- something about the flavors didnt vibe the way we had hoped, but the quality was clearly there. I would recommend you pay a visit!
Sam G — Google review
Popped in for a drink and snack. Our server was great. Atmosphere was nice and relaxing. I tried to be adventurous and ordered an n/a cocktail. This drink was not made for me. Honestly, it smelled and tasted like lotion. But, it is described as being botanical, so it was as advertised. I’m just glad the glass wasn’t bigger than it was. The cheese board had 4 nice white cheeses, crisp apple and lovely local honey. This experience will create an everlasting memory and I will always chuckle when telling the story of my lotion drink!

Located near the Hood River waterfront, it offers a delicious selection of dishes such as pulled pork, brisket, and Hops Sausage. The outdoor location provides a scenic setting to enjoy the gourmet and unique offerings. Customers rave about the quality of the food, with highlights including the Chile verde sausage and perfectly tender brisket.
Holy Buckets of BBQ Bliss! The food! I took my good friend to Hood River for a birthday day trip, and this spot was a must-hit on our list. They open at 11:30 and serve until they run out—which meant we rolled up praying the meat gods had spared us a plate. Thankfully, they had! And let me tell you, we ate like we were rationing for winter. Every bite was so good; we savored it. I even boxed some up for my husband because marriage is occasionally about proving how much better your day was than his. Oh, and I grabbed some frozen BBQ meats for the grill because future me deserves this joy, too. The service? Shockingly fantastic for a food cart. The picnic area was clean, the grass looked happier than me with a plate of brisket, and this place is now permanently stamped on my "must-return" list… all thanks to my taste buds.

So good. If only they had a pdx location. From line, to ordering, to getting food, it took us about 42 minutes in total. There was about 15 people in line when we arrived. The line moved pretty quickly and they ran a very efficient operation. Some of their menu items are on rotation. We ordered the tri-tip, smoked sausage, chicken, and mac-and-cheese. All of which was fantastic. The sauces were delightful as well! It tasted even better when we had leftovers later. There are limited picnic tables but plenty of grass area if you bring a blanket. We got our food to-go and it came in very thoughtful to-go containers. Make sure to grab your utensils right at the front when ordering.

Pork belly burnt end hands down the best thing on the menu, it has a biting soy flavor that kicks your tastbuds in the mouth. Next, I really enjoyed the roasted chicken. It has a smoky flavor that is quite nice, third favorite mac n cheese, perfectly seasoned and creamy. Over we spent $125.00, a ton of food, I give it 9 out of ten. Drove 87 miles here but totally worth it.

You know that feeling when you leave a great concert, movie, vacation, when you drop into a deep depression and are constantly mentally returning whenever the moment allows? That is precisely the feeling you will have after eating here. Food elsewhere just flat out does not compare. The brisket is flavorful, tender, and juicy. The pulled pork is phenomenal, piled up high on their sandwiches paired with soft toasted buns and an incredible aoli spread that almost had me munching on the plate until a passerby slapped it away from my mouth. The sausage as well, hits the nail on the head with the perfect ratio of filler and meat. It is a good thing they are 1 hour from me, or I would quickly go broke eating here, and would be the happiest fattest homeless guy you ever did see. Come, and experience all the different decadent meats and sides they have to try at Grasslands Barbeque

Hubby and took a drive from Vancouver, Wa to Hood River to try this spot that I found on instagram. We’ll travel for some good barbecue. This is a food truck, but worth it. The line was long, but seemed to move along quickly. The food was amazing!! I did not like the sauce for our beef rib. Overall really good food. Not enough tables in the lawn area to sit and enjoy your food. So bring your own or a blanket to lounge in the grass. There’s a bar/restaurant next to the food cart if you want to get a cider/beer while you wait.

This is the best BBQ in Northwest Oregon. It is worth the drive from Portland for sure. The Pork belly burnt ends are some of the best things I've ever eaten. Don't miss ordering the slaw either!

The Grasslands crew always delivers! Pork belly burnt ends are always a must-have, the pulled pork has brisket-like bark, their chicken is a staple, and the summer-Sundays-only tri-tip satisfies the craving for smoked beef without the richness of brisket. Definitely stop by when you're anywhere near Hood River.

We had just returned from the Texas Monthly BBQ Festival and so were anxious to compare some of Oregon's best against Central Texas' best. BBQ Grasslands definitely qualifies! Just and hour East of Portland, Grasslands is open Saturday only at 11:30 am until they sell out, or 4:00 pm. They are the real deal style Central Texas barbecue. We recommend the excellent brisket and pork belly burnt ends. Both are outstanding. The pulled pork and chicken sausage were terrific as well. The hatch green and cheddar sausage had way too much cheese and too little hatch chilis for our taste, and there was an off putting petroleum flavor related to the black pepper chicken thighs. Since the chicken is cooked direct and not on the offset, my guess is the cook didn't let the lump coal burn down to hot coals and cooked it over the raw charcoal, which gave it the petroleum flavor. Disappointing. The smashed fried potatoes and Tex-Mex slaw were both delicious, and we would return for these all of the time. Overall, great barbecue!

We recently had our rehearsal dinner at Stonehedge Gardens and the evening was perfect. From the food to the atmosphere we couldn't recommend it enough. Mike and his team crafted a menu that my whole group of 35 could eat, which was a feat because we had multiple dietary and allergy restrictions. Dinner was served buffet style and the food was all hot, delicious and had waitstaff attending the buffet. We did an open bar for beer and wine and the in house selections were great, with multiple guests commenting on how good the selection was. Their outdoor space, The Grotto, made for a romantic atmosphere and they provided music in the space which helped keep the whole evening lively. We had dined with them one time prior and also had excellent food and service just for a normal reservation for two. So happy with how the evening turned out and I recommend Stonehedge for your next event or dinner out.

I have lived in the gorge for 6 years and never knew this place existed. The food is on point, delicious, and reasonably priced. Service was wonderful, we had a very delightful and friendly host, everyone treated us very well from the time we walked in until we left. The house is set up to offer both indoor and outdoor seating, and has a nice quiet, cozy atmosphere.

Proprietors Mike and Shauna have kept this fine dining place going strong for many years. Good service and an Excellent wine list compliment a varied menu. Outdoor patio is relaxed and peaceful. The event space is great for weddings.

My goodness, if you live in the area and haven’t enjoyed the tastes and the pleasures of this very special place, sham on you. If you are visiting Portland or the Hood River area and do not fit this place into your schedule, you should check your calendar because something went wrong with your schedule…The Grilled Goat Cheese and the sesame seed crusted Ahi Tuna was a taste bud’s dance of perfection across the tongue. The peppercorn filet was a very different twist on a good cut of beef. Spicy and flavorful. The finishing touch however, was the flaming bread pudding. My very favorite part of the evening however, was the service, quiet simply made you feel as if you were the only table in the place… also, please ensure that you try the house named special cocktail named for none other than Ms Shanna, herself, the Shannacolada. Absolutely cocktail perfection..

While the food and service aemre always excellent, it is the exceptional atmosphere that really makes this an enjoyable dining experience during tge springvand summer months. It is settled back in the woods at the end of a long gravel driveway. You done on an expansive stone patio with tasteful lighting and design. There is evrn a resident kitty that visits. I love ending a busy day here with a delicious dinner and adult beverage.

If you’re looking for a secluded and unique dinner spot, go check out Stonehenge Gardens! Private and spacious environment & amazing food. Service was amazing, and it was a very enjoyable experience. They were even dog friendly for outside dining, which we found hard to find at a lot of other restaurants in Hood River, especially fine dining. We loved it.

We enjoyed an intimate dining experience here. Definitely wait to hear the Specials from the host. I got the King Salmon and it was just perfect. They also have a great wine selection. They are currently not doing outdoor dining and are closed by 9 PM. Call ahead and make reservations to be safe. Definitely recommend visiting this place with your significant other though it might not be the best option if you are a vegetarian.
