We were greeted when we entered and immediately seated. We places our drink orders and the server gave us some time to look over the menu. We both got biscuits for our side and a side of home fries to share. Our food came out pretty quickly and was the perfect temperature. The home fries were seasoned perfectly. My omelet was delicious, it was more of a scramble, but still delicious. The meats were all very flavorful and the veggies were perfect except the mushrooms which were either canned or overcooked. My husband's Benedict was good, with a good variety of flavors. The sweet potatoes were a bit under cooked and the poached eggs were a bit overcooked, but otherwise tasted good. The biscuits were delicious. Our server was great. She gave us time to review the menu and make a decision, she checked on us appropriately and refilled drinks as needed. There are two restrooms, one was out of service. Street parking was okay on a Friday morning on the one way street. We arrived at 11am midweek and there was a pretty long line already. Good sign, I thought. Not a long wait on the food. Lots of places to sit. I ordered a thick fried bologna sandwich with white beans and corn bread. (In the end, the sandwich was very large, but still just a sandwich. The beans could have really used some ham and seasoning... These weren't my grandma's southern beans! The corn bread was alright, but nothing even close to Cracker Barrel's corn bread.) It's probably a very good thing that we don't see inside the kitchen of most restaurants. No one walked away saying the food was out of this world, but okay-to-good overall, just not great. It was a fun place to try, though. I'd say the atmosphere is certainly the draw here. The locals speak so highly of this place so I was just expecting so much more. I still ended up paying $27.60 for the meal I couldn't eat. this Huddle House needs a completely NEW staff from the manager DOWN. there is a Pizza Hut right next door and an Arby's about 100 yards away,, next time I'll go to one of those places for food and friendly service.

We ordered the 12 plate taco special (disappointed they ran out of al pastor meat) it came with chicken (the kids loved it), asada (steak) & chorizo (mild sausage), it is served with the limes galore, sliced red radishes, 2 house spicy sauces, grilled nopales (cactus) & grilled whole onions with green shoots (these are a delicacy and not commonly found at restaurants and a definite MUST TRY) We overzealously ordered another plate as well - the quesobirria (cheese & shredded lamb crispy tacos that are served with a tasty consume to dip the tacos in) Our order took a bit long to arrive but the kitchen was in the midst of preparing a very large catering order to go when we arrived, all in all not a long time for the wait considering. The service was fantastic and attentive, waitress was proficient in both English and Spanish. Will definitely be back to try other menu items. * update 8/2022 STILL as delicious as the 1st time we went! this time the al pastor (chili pineapple pork) was available and it didn't disappoint! The staff is always so nice and accommodating.
