Now living in PA, we aren’t able to come as often but to this day after living in PA for over 15 years, Jade Island is still our favorite Chinese restaurant and food! Nothing compares. This place has been open since the 70s. The food is outrageous. You feel like you just stepped on an episode of fantasy island. They still have drinks with the fancy umbrellas . Get the pu pu platter.. the wonton soup is the best.. anything you order is insane. The portions are huge. It’s not expensive. It’s in a summer plaza but ignore it because when you step in , you are going to be pleasantly surprised. They used to have these murals in the tiki huts that moved.. like a waterfall. When they added Dim Sum I was excited, but then arrived all this junk in the front of the restaurant. It now is super cluttered. It once had beautiful decor as well. It now has tacky white table clothes with purple covers. Just horrible, the tables are pushed super close together. Another crowded awful feature. Food is now medicore at best and still overpriced. The manager seemed more concerned with putting up Christmas decorations tonight then bringing me some suger when I asked for it. He told me to ask my waiter. Would it have killed him to bring it over? Large noisy parties are now placed right next to people wanting a quiet dining experience. They "fixed" a place that wasn't broken. I will never return. The atmosphere in the place was positive and festive for lunar new year. Our table was great and the seating is very comfortable. However the food is the main star at East Pacific and after being open so many years it was great to see that the flavors, quality, freshness are still prioritized. The chefs clearly take a great deal of pride and thought in food presentation and East is a place where you can come to regularly because the menu is so diverse and caters to whatever mood you're in. We ordered way too much food (the portions are BIG) in an effort to try many dishes and we universally agreed that all were delicious and nobody was disappointed. Only thing that was delicious was the shrimp and broccoli, ribs and the spring rolls. Fried chicken wings were freshly fried which was great but had no seasoning what so ever and there was to much batter on the chicken. My boyfriend ate them. The general tso chicken had way to much batter and the vegetable fried Rice smelled spoiled and was way too soft. We told the waiter and he told us they sell alot of the general tso chicken and they pay so much for it so for it to be thrown away wasn't good. Wouldn't go back here again to dine in. I would just take the ribs and shrimp and broccoli to go. The alcohol drinks were very strong and good. The sushi was also good as an appetizer. Older crowd in there 50's and up. Didn't get to take a picture of the sushi. My boyfriend ordered a large ribs to go after eating the small for an appetizer. Bbq sauce was delicious on them

So if you like hot mustard, make sure you get extra napkins. I chilled out in Fortune Cookie for maybe close to 20 minutes. When I told the pleasant lady who took my order that I wanted it to stay, she brought food to me at the table. Solid 4 stars. No complaints. Two other things to note: I believe this is the rare Chinese restaurant that doesn’t sell “4 chicken wings and French fries.” Also, thankfully, they don’t charge you $1 extra for brown rice. There are places that do that—penalize you for trying to eat healthy—and I hate it. Please be careful around parking lot/sidewalk entrance where Dunkin Donuts is: Drivers are not always paying attention to pedestrians and sadly, tragically, I did see a horrible tragedy happen at the shopping plaza entrance near Fortune Cookie.
