For what this place is, it’s a decent Chinese restaurant. It’s ALL to go. Service is friendly but can be slow at peak times. It’s also open REALLY late, one of the last establishments open on Green Street on any given night.
Stick with Fried Rice and Fried Rice only. Ordered the Sesame Chicken during my last visit and it was a bit suspicious… not every piece tasted or looked like chicken.

As a truckdriver its hard to grab good down to earth food. Lucky me i was able to drop my trailer and bobtail to Chopstix. I believe they offer doordash if your not so lucky. I went there for lunch at around 12 noon. The place is clean and tidy. I can see though the kitchen. It’s clean, too. I ordered 2 lunch special $6.50 each which included an egg roll. The food is fresh and the people there are very friendly. Since the place is clean, I feel comfortable to eat there. They have water and cup there and plenty of napkins for you to pickup. I like they use fresh veggies (fresh button mushroom and scallion) in my Mongolian beef and my son said their Lomein is fresh, too. While I was eating there. There were lots of people keep coming. From the tables to the bathrooms, this restaurant is very clean. As far as service, the staff is very friendly as soon as you walk through the door. The wait staff is equally as friendly. They are very attentive to your needs.
Now to the food. The Szechuan Style Wontons are absolutely amazing. The Wontons are in a special sauce with green scallions and are wonderful. The Orange Chicken sauce was the best I’ve ever had; it is quite unique with the sweet and tang.

What an amazing find! My husband and I had been running errands around Champaign and were getting hungry for dinner. We drove past this place and that, and eventually decided "Rainbow Garden" sounded worth doubling back for.
And oh my goodness!
First off: the service was PHENOMENAL! We were never rushed but never felt unattended. Our drinks were repeatedly refilled before they were empty. Our food came so much faster than we anticipated! Even paying was quick and easy.
Second: the food was honestly some of the best we've ever had. the Pekin duck was nearly perfect (the skin could have been crispier) and the beef fried rice was possibly the best fried rice we've ever had. So flavorful, so full of meat, and the meat was tender and tasty!
Third: the whole restaurant was very clean. The bathroom was a little dark, and there's an obstacle in the hallway that makes it not wheelchair accessible, but overall an excellent job.
We will be back!

I was visiting Champaign IL and was looking for dinner near the Virginia theater in the downtown area. Peking Garden Restaurant had good reviews and I decided to try. The restaurant had a nice mom and pop feel and the staff were very nice and helpful. The food was amazing. I had the Szechuan wontons and hot and sour soup to start... Great flavors! I wish we lived closer to U of I, just because of this restaurant. The food was so fresh and delicious. Was excited to try this restaurant as we just dropped off our son. We re from N side of Chicago so was expecting decent Chinese food. We must have ordered the wrong things. Cause the beef chowfun and Mongolian chicken did not look like what they’re supposed to look like. They looked similar. Tasted similar. And so much onions. I started going to this restaurant in 2011 with a hope just to find okay Thai food as Urbana-Champaign are not big cities like Chicago where you can find authentic Thai food. But I was surprised how great the food was. I ordered Kana Moo Krob (Chinese broccoli with crispy pork belly) and three flavored fried fish. These dishes were so tasty that I went back there soooooo often (for some other dishes too). How often? Probably over 400 times in 6-7 years I was in Champaign.
The owners are super nice. Service was quite fast. One of my most favorite restaurants of all time.

This place is my daughter’s absolute favorite, we eat here at least once a week! Recently, it feels like they’ve gotten even better. The lady who takes orders behind the counter has become even friendlier, and I wonder if there’s been a change in ownership because the service feels extra welcoming now. The crispy chicken nuggets with sweet and sour soy sauce on the side are, in my opinion, the BEST in town, my kids go crazy for them! We’ve also tried many other dishes, and the flavors are consistently delicious. Fried rice was not super flavorful but still good. The steamed dumplings were delicious would definitely reccomend. My husband got the general tso chicken and thought it was great. Generous portion sizes. I got the combo kung pao and the heat and flavor were there. I was sad to see no whole chili peppers in there but it was still spicy. The chili oil is the best I've ever had and was great with the boiled dumplings. Egg rolls were good too, came free w our order from ordering online which was nice. Everything was super hot and fresh. Overall a good experience!

I ordered the Mongolian Beef combination platter which came with a choice or white rice or pork fried rice (I chose pork), as well as a choice of egg roll or crab rangoon (I chose rangoon).
The China King menu on Grubhub wasn't clear with regards to my order. I had to choose between an egg roll or crab rangoon. An egg roll by itself is $2.20. An order of 4 rangoon was marked at $5.25. I expected 2 pieces of rangoon because that seemed to equate to 1 egg roll. I received 1 piece of crab rangoon. I called the restaurant to say that the menu should be more clear. I would have ordered more crab rangoon if I would have known only 1 piece was coming. Needless to say, I was very disappointed and felt a bit cheated (crab rangoon is my favorite). I was trying to be smarter with my money, so I didn't order a separate 4-piece order because I thought 2 should be enough to at least satisfy the craving I'd been having since being stuck home recovering from major spinal surgery. Normally, if eating out, I would order and pick it up myself because money is tight... I couldn't justify spending another $5.25 because I was already spending more for delivery and tip. Anyway, the food was truly delicious and would have received 5-stars. However I am giving 4-stars because the menu should specify that only 1 piece comes with the combo platters. But ultimately, I think 1 piece of rangoon is not ok. China King should be giving 2 pieces as that seems like a more fair financial equivalent to 1 egg roll.
In the grand scheme of things, I'm sure my opinion doesn't matter, and definitely won't change anything. I'm just butthurt over my super-salivating induced craving for crab rangoon going unmet... I should have ordered the 10-piece rangoon from First Wok in lieu of a meal, but they weren't listed on Grubhub and I just wasn't physically ready to drive with the pain I'm struggling with from surgery. Blah. Now it will be a few weeks before I can afford to eat out anywhere again, so I'll just have to dream about crab rangoon until then.

Definitely my FIRST and VERY LAST visit at this establishment. I’m most frustrated with myself because the greeting I received upon entering this business should’ve been a CLEAR indication of the quality of service to follow. Never did the cashier/worker greet me upon entering/stepping to the counter. However, despite the initial interaction - possibly laced with extreme hunger, I proceeded with my order. Once it was prepared and bagged, she placed it out the window partition without a "thank you", "enjoy", etc. When I inquired about condiments, she simply pointed to an area to the side.
I’m literally sitting at work frustrated at what I spent my $$ and time on. Shrimp fried rice was VERY BLAND and it almost tasted as if the rice was fried in old grease. Other than onions and shrimp, nothing else was in it - this, I do take responsibility for failing to ask. While the fried shrimp had a nice crispy exterior, it to was completely bland.
I’m a firm believer in tasting the love and right energy in meals prepared - this entire experience was quite void of the above.
Where is TRUE customer service and ♥️ for quality food preparation and intentions???

I threw up a couple of hours after eating their lamb chuck soup with rice noodle. I was suspicious of the quality of the meat when I was eating: it tasted stale. And the translation of the menu is obviously wrong. The soup came with thin glass noodles (noodles made out of starch) rather than rice noodles as they write on the menu. The price there generally does not match the quality of the food. Do not recommend. Will not go again.

A true hidden gem for Korean Chinese food!
I've eaten plenty of Korean Chinese noodle dishes from a handful of restaurants in the Chicago area, and none of them imo are at the level of this place. The jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup with some pork) here is something really special! This place nails the smokey wok hey and savory quality of the soup which a lot of restaurants don't always do well. Jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles) also impresses here!
Chatted with a guy who runs this place and found out that his dad who opened up shop and still cooks at the restaurant originally lived and made food in Incheon, Korea where mainstream Korean Chinese food originated (maybe that's the secret lol). If you want a proper introduction to Korean Chinese food, this is the place!!

When we arrived at 6:00 PM, we waited over 1.5 hours and only received one dish and rice, while other tables got their food. After repeatedly asking, we found out the front desk forgot to send our order to the kitchen. Their "compensation"? One can of Coke.
As we finished eating, they tried to charge an 18% service fee despite the awful experience. When we refused, the owner suddenly appeared and told us to “be understanding” because it was New Year’s. He smirked the whole time, made excuses, and even said, "Go ahead, post about it online, it won’t hurt me."
We argued for nearly 20 minutes before they finally dropped the service charge.

Wonderful!!! I scored a 1 on decor only because there is a not applicable and our food was delivered. We are on vacation in Champaign and placed a $20 delivery order from Empire around 1 in the afternoon. They delivered our food in less than 30 minutes and we had enough leftover for lunch today! The sesame chicken was cut into bite size pieces which made it perfect for our girls to eat and the Moo Goo Gai Pan was some of the best I have had -- so many vegetables, especially mushrooms. Really good homemade Chinese food. I have not had any of the American-style Chinese stuff here, so I can't comment on that but friends seem to like it, especially the Mongolian beef. My favorite dish so far is the twice-cooked pork. It is made with pork belly and is the perfect level of spicy with a generous "pinch" of Sichuan peppercorns. All of the veggies are very fresh and have a great texture. I am not sure what all of the other things I have tried are called because I sampled them off of friends plates but everything was good. Next time I want to order one of the pork rib dishes. That is if I can pass up my usual. I am also keen on trying the egg foo young and moo shu pork since so few Chinese places in town actually make either of those dishes.

Today, the employees at Signarama had a lunch celebration and had the opportunity to try Auntie Lee's for the first time. The menu consisted of various dishes such as Pork Xiao Long Bao, Tianjin Pork Meat Bun, Crab Rangoon, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Chicken and Broccoli, General Tso's Chicken, Pork Egg Rolls, and the House Special Lo Mein.

The taste of the food exceeded our expectations. Each dish was packed with flavor and was truly enjoyable. The Tianjin Pork, a large stuffed dough with pork, was perfectly cooked and flavorful. We also had a veggie version, but it was quickly devoured by others before I could try it.
The General Tso's Chicken had a delightful blend of spice and flavor. Although I tend to avoid spicy food, I managed to have a small taste. It was good, but a bit too spicy for my personal preference. However, my coworkers raved about it and unanimously agreed that it was the most flavorful General Tso's Chicken they had ever had, giving it a perfect rating of 10/10.
The House Special Lo Mein was a major hit among the employees. It was tender and packed with shrimp, chicken, and beef, making it a satisfying dish.
Normally, I avoid sweet and sour chicken due to the imbalance of meat and breading. However, Auntie Lee's version was perfectly balanced, not overly sweet or sour, and the chicken was of excellent quality.
The pork egg rolls were substantial in size and filled with a generous amount of vegetables and pork. They were truly enjoyable.
Now, onto my personal favorite, the Crab Rangoon. I am usually very particular about Crab Rangoon, but I must say, Auntie Lee's has the best one in Champaign. Instead of the traditional roll shape, Kit folds it to resemble a crab, resulting in a more generously packed filling. I was in heaven while devouring it.
If you haven't tried Auntie Lee's, we highly recommend that you make a visit. They are open until 1am and offer various options such as online ordering, dine-in, takeout, and delivery. You won't regret indulging in a meal from Auntie Lee's. Once again, we extend our gratitude to Kit for making Signarama's day truly amazing with her delicious food.
Additionally, it is worth noting that the portions are quite generous, and the pictures I am sharing were taken after several people had already served themselves. Absolutely delicious!

Probably my favorite Chinese place in town. The food is spectacular, and I’ve only ever had a problem with deliver once throughout my dozens of orders, a mistake that the owner graciously solved. The portion sizes are good, don’t listen to reviews that say otherwise. The food is also priced well, not being overly expensive, which is a breath of fresh air compared to other restaurants that have been steadily hiking their prices up recently. The delivery hours are a little odd to some people, but if you work late you’ll probably come to appreciate the how late you can place an order. Definitely give this place a try, you won’t regret it.

This is the only place that I can order good food at late night. The owner of the restaurant is very friendly and knowledgeable about their food. The female owner takes the time to explain to me their menu. The food is good, the price is not the cheapest, I have to say, but who else will deliver food at such weird hours? They have good portion size food, so I get more then what I pay. I like their variety of food. They offer not just Chinese American food. I like their authentic Chinese food, too. Mongolian beef is my favorite. I definitely will order again.

Hands down best customer service i’ve received. It’s family owned and a really nice cozy spot to eat especially when it’s rainy or cold out. The pricing to portion ratio is also really good.
For food I had the Kung Pao Chicken and I loved every bite of it. The owner even let me try some of their egg & tomato meal for free.
My girlfriend got the steamed dumplings (pork) and she loved it so much and said she’ll ask for 20 next time we go (and she doesn’t even eat much).
All in all great service, atmosphere, food and pricing.
Update: We went back and got those 20 dumplings.

Conclusion- This is by far the best Szechuanese food the CU area (my husband I have lived in big cities like NYC Houston LA Chicago etc.) The food quality and authenticity of the dishes are even better than a lot of the so-called Szhechuanese restaurants in these cities. Apparently this restaurant is not Lailai Wok anymore. The new owner took over the restaurant recently (though the inside decor is similar, we did notice they changed new chairs and new tables). My husband and I have been coming back multiple times since our first visit, so far there have been all pleasant surprises and no disappointments. Come in and try it out to support the new local business!

This is a new place that opened at the location of the old Lailai wok. This is hands down one of the best Chinese places in town. There are a lot of sichuan restaurants in town, but I would say in terms of taste and value, this place is da best! The owner is super friendly and also the owner.
