The young lady who was bartending was awesome I wish I remembered her name, I used to bartend so sometimes I get annoyed by poor service but I greatly appreciate good service and she was fantastic. The whole Hoover Dam Lodge facility is neat and worth stopping for. The Bighorn Cafe is right inside and is easy to miss. It is quaint, clean and the staff is friendly (hi Lori!) Update: on our 7/2021 visit, some of the staff wasn't as friendly. We've had breakfast and lunch here and the menu is diverse with something for everyone. Update 7/2021: the menu is no longer as diversified as before. There are still a good number of choices. The prices are reasonable and it is a good location; just off the main highway. Far enough off the not feel "roadside" but not too far off to be inconvenient. We got to Vegas a couple of times a year and this is now a regular stop for us. We've had two great experiences here - the most recent one we've removed a star due to the menu thinning and some staff. Update 12/20/2021. Menu continues to be smaller (fresh pics added). Staff was pleasing and we enjoyed our visit again. Update 3/14/2022: new pics of menu and food. Staff was again very pleasant. They were out of hash browns this visit but offered good substitutes. Update 12/29/2022: More staff and very pleasant experience. Food was still very good. Update 3/17/2023: Terribly understaffed. Drinks took forever. The General Taos was excellent. The chicken was tender and the sauce was so favorable. The beef and broccoli was different than from back east, but was very good. I just wish there was more beef. We both ordered the fried rice with the meals. We also shared a pot of brewed tea. We felt the prices were reasonable for the size of the portions as well as the quality of the food. Over all we were very, very happy with this restaurant. We will definitely be taking that 30 minute ride a few times a month. Also the dinner portions are bigger than shown.
