They give complementary sourdough rolls with fluffy butter and these beans with prime rib and jalepenos in it. Delish!! We tried the onion blossom first and danggg I ain’t never had one that tasted like her before! She was delicious! For the main course. I got the fully loaded baked potato and the steak. My mom got pork chops which she has been talking about wanting for weeks and a baked potato. We both got salads with croutons. Dude the croutons were soooo good! I was like I need one of those rolls and a handful of croutons TO GO! LoL and Brent made it happen! Also OHMYGOSH the steak was like a mouthgasm! It had this char on it that I have never tasted anywhere else. It was so juicy. Like seriously all I can do is think about that steak today! 🤤🤤 My mom was obsessed with her pork chops too, the drive back to Pismo all she could do was go on and on and about how juicy, flavorful and melt in ur mouth good they were! The salad was bagged salad, no cucumber slices, no croutons, just two under ripe (still green) unwashed cherry tomatoes. My child's meal, turned out they cut the apple and served it with the core and the seeds still attached but the real kicker, they left the sticker on the apple and cut through it. I told the waiter that I didn't feel that the apple had been washed and showed him the sticker. He apologized and said he would mention it to the kitchen. So my child didn't get to eat his apple and no alternative was offered. As I dug into my "salad" I discovered the tomatoes were not washed properly either; as a dead tomato leaf was stuck to the tomato. So we pushed the starters to the side since they were unappealing. Shortly after that our food arrived. My husband's came with both the seasoned veggies and the green beans. The mashed potatoes and gravy were way salty. The steak was all gristle and the seasoned veggies were over cooked and running water on the plate that made the steak soggy. My husbands fries were cold, soggy, and full of grease. The saddest example of home-style fries I have ever seen. He also agreed that the food was overly salted and not very good at all. As we sat there picking at the food contemplating whether to try to eat more or complain we noticed that our waiter hadn't been by in quite awhile. By now we had sat almost 20 minutes with no beverage refills. We sat and sat and sat and no one came. Finally, we spotted him and waved, he ignored the wave turned the other way and disappeared again. My husband joked there should be a law that if no one comes to wait on you after 30 minutes you should be able to leave for free. I ordered the build your own breakfast and got Chicken Fried Steak, Scrambled eggs, Biscuits and gravy and the Hashbrown bake. I was pretty disappointed because I really love Good Biscuits and Gravy but these Biscuits were like Hockey Pucks! Small and very hard. The Gravy was ok. The hashbrown bake item was the best. Chicken fried steak was nominal at best. The service was great. But when I was going to box up the leftovers I saw a hair across my plate and was disgusted. I've been to Hometown Buffet many times. I do enjoy the food mostly the salad bar. However my major complaint every single time I've gone without fail including today are the bathrooms. I did talk to the young lady who ask me how my visit was and I told her what I thought . It looks like nobody has scrubbed those toilets in a month. You walk by the changing table and you can see poo. You see somebody mopped the floor but that's about as far as they go. It's truly disgusting. Honestly I'm not a big complainer but I've been in gas station bathrooms that are far cleaner than this place. I don't know what the problem is. I saw somebody taking food temperature to make sure the food was at the right temp. So I don't know why they don't think keeping the facilities clean is important. I've complained on three different occasions because it was so outrageously filthy truly if I did not have to go to the bathroom so badly I would not have use their toilet. I want to walk right back out. Thank God for paper toilet Shields honestly.

To stay healthy, we both opted for Beyond Burgers which was a mistake. I regret choosing Beyond Burger as this place really turned us off Beyond Burgers – they were more greasy than we've ever had. We should have chosen Club sandwiches. The buns were home made, but the dough is very tight and not very burger bun/brioche like. The fries were not real cut fries. Overall, a disappointing experience considering there were so many pictures of great looking food online.

But the Coconut Shrimp appetizer was very good and the process are very reasonable. So on that note it was good. The food and atmosphere were amazing. Visiting this restaurant from Salinas CA. My husband loves this establishment. We have visited others a little farther down south. No comparison.
