Everything about our dining experience today was excellent, as it has been for the last 20+years. From the time we arrived and walked in the Bar area Omar greeted us. He remembered what we like to drink and promptly brought us the drinks. At the same time the server promptly came with chips and salsa and made our Tableside guacamole, it was just right! It's okay. The atmosphere was great. Our waitress was nice but took a bit to get to us throughout the time we were there. We ordered a strawberry margarita and it was lacking any flavor at all. We mentioned it to the waitress and she said that they have been having that problem with those. If you knew, you should have said something. Los gringos Loco is a great place to have dinner. At least that’s what I had. We were celebrating a business success and decided to go here. They had a huge selection of food and drinks and when I had their food and I had their fajita, it was very good. They’re margaritas were also really good. Another interesting part of this restaurant is that they have a guacamole, mixer person who comes to you and makes the guacamole in front of you. That’s a nice touch.
The service was also very good. The guy came back several times asking if we were OK, which really helps.
So, for sure, I would recommend this place for specially dinners.

Grade A (93): The meat is great at Taylor's. Our server, I had the Chateaubriand which was on the Friday specials' list. Definitely coming back to test the Ribeye and the Prime Rib. Sides were good, Chili with Filet Mignon pieces was a great touch, very tasty, (Fries, Baked potato, Onion rings etc.) Forgot to take a picture of the fries, they are thick cut and delicious. Meats were tender and came perfect as each of us asked for different temperatures. I will definitely go back.

Let me start by saying how pleasantly surprised I was that, despite there being zero parking available for blocks, the valet parking was only $5.50. On entering, the atmosphere was very romantic - dark wood with low lighting.
The service was very good, but not remarkable.
We ordered a 20oz porterhouse to share, and asked for it to be cooked medium. The chef was gracious enough to cut it and plate it on separate plates for us. It was very tasty, but seemed to be medium rare rather than medium. I was also disappointed that it did not have any char on it. But it was extremely tender, and juicy.
We also each got a salad. They were a good size, and very fresh. My wife liked that her Bleu cheese dressing was thin. My ranch dressing was also thin, but I don't like it that thin.
Topping off the meal was the staff surprising us with an ice cream sundae with a birthday candle as they sang Happy Birthday to me, which i thought was very nice! Plus the sundae was fabulous!! I really need to find out what brand of ice cream they used!
All in all, it was a wonderful experience, and I would go back.

I used to come here when I worked at JPL and always had good memories, but tonight was pretty awful. The Filet Mignon was supposed to be medium, but it was charred outside and rare inside. Texture was right, but the flavor was flat and boring. Sister also got a filet, hers was overcooked, grey all the way through. Hubby said the Prime Rib was good.
Dessert was mediocre ice cream and grocery store whipped cream with hershey's. Bread pudding flavor was ok, but was super hot just in the middle, as if it were microwaved.
Drinks took 15 minutes, food order was taken as drinks were delivered, and then food took another 20 minutes, and not everyone got their food. Last person was served 10 minutes later.
They brought bread service even though no one asked for it, almost everywhere else, that means it's complimentary, but here they charged us $2.
Waiter dropped off the bill and then disappeared, I had to go find him, chatting at the bar.
Overall disappointed, won't be back. If you want good steak go somewhere else.

All I can say is that the lower the price of an item, the better it tasted. We ordered the specials at 45-50$ a piece, and these were flavorless. We then ordered a burger to hope it would satisfy a taste, but it fell apart after the first bite. Since we live in the Crescenta Valley Taylor's is our restaurant of choice for special occasions. My husband's birthday was August 12. Since that was a Tuesday and Taylor's is not open on Tuesday I took him to Taylor's on Wednesday August 13. He wanted a steak. The service was great. The atmosphere is always wonderful. However, the steaks we ordered were ribeye steaks, and they were extremely tough and full of gristle. They were very hard to cut and eat. We were disappointed with the meal. Afterwards I wished I had said something to the management, but I didn't want to spoil our special evening. So I am sending this evaluation of our meal now. We both will probably hesitate about going back to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries.

We were in La Canada to visit Twigs N Things and decided to walk around and get something to eat. There is plenty of parking in the back. We got there about an hour before they stopped serving breakfast and ordered hash browns, bacon and eggs with sourdough toast, eggs and sausage with wheat toast , a side of bacon and French toast. When the food came out one of the servers said “now that’s how you order breakfast!” Hubby had a chocolate shake and I had a pot of earl grey with heavy cream. The food was great. They use individual size packets of Mrs Butterworth that were warm! We devoured the French toast! The sausages were slightly spicy. We took home some bacon, sausage, hash browns and toast. We will be back. The fish and chips we saw at another table looked fantastic.

The food is very mid. We chose this place based on the pictures and I was safely disappointed. The chorizo breakfast burrito was bland. Salt and pepper helped. The French toast was dry and served with syrup packets. The latte was good! But that was about it. Great service, even though it was an incredibly busy morning...but overpriced. My Abuelita decided to take my son and I out to dinner to celebrate his birthday, and the choice was easy. Sakura. This Teppanyaki-sushi place is great for the whole family, but it is still a great option for date night, too. The menu is simple on the teppanyaki side but it has options for all palates (less, usually translates to fresher). The cusine is a spectacle, all the chefs that work there have awesome knife skills as well as great showmanship. They prepare your meal in front of you on the traditional japanese flat-top griddle while entertaining you with a free-style cooking show. The food has always tasted fresh and the restaurant is always well kept. Alsobthe sushi side is cool, but you can order that from the teppanyaki side as well. I usually get the steak and lobster combo and share a Fire Ring Roll smothered in fried onions with the family (try that roll, it looks and tastes awesome!) We went there on a Sunday evening and it was busseling! There must have been a line of 20 people outside the door and just as many in the waiting room, I must say we all got seated i. Less than 20min. ( we called around opening time to reserve)

Love this place. Have loved it since I was a kid and still love it as an adult. Fantastic food, great atmosphere, and extremely friendly staff. I come in once a week to get takeout for me and my grandparents and I always stay for a drink at the bar while I wait. Arnie is a super cool dude and makes a great cocktail. Cannot recommend this place enough. Fair prices for good food with a very diverse menu. You can take a big group here and there is something on the menu for everyone.
While everything on the menu is great, the one thing you must try is their Steak Picado. This is one of my favorite dishes from any restaurant. It is chopped up pieces of steak simmered in a Spanish tomato sauce with bell peppers and onions and it tastes magnificent. I go here once or twice a week and frequently tell myself I’ll order something else besides the steak Picado and everything I end up ordering the steak Picado.
My one suggestion is that they add a gluten free bread or bun option for their burgers and sandwiches, but otherwise this place is perfect

A friend told us to try Magpie's Grill and I'm glad we went! We enjoyed our meal at Magpie's Grill. The large selection of fried appetizers gave me eater's block and I just couldn't decide, so, thankfully they had a pick 3. The zucchini strips, large onion rings and mozzarella sticks were dipped in a light flaky batter and so delicious. The chicken wings only come with one type of sweet and spicy sauce which is really good but, I'm a fan favorite of spicy so, of course, I had to have some hot sauce on the side. The wings were really large sized which I don't see too often. :)
My daughter had chili without cheese, which they add fresh cut onions and garlic bread was piping hot which she told me was very good and the best of all was that every single staff member was a delight, from the hostess to the cook. I know when we're back in Glendale/La Cañada area we'll stop by again. It was a great little place.

I went here for the first time and it was a great overall experience from the quality of food, an impressive variety of breakfast options on menu, and good service. Our favorite Mexican restaurant in La Canada. Food was constantly great every time. The fajitas always come sizzling hot and delicious on a hot plate. Burritos with rice and beans on the side. I like their tostada with shrimp - they make it as my special request. They welcome you with a basket of corn tortilla chips with salsa. Margarita is delicious and ice tea and sodas has free refills. The burger it self was a pretty large one, I'd guess a half pound patty as it had a lot of heft. It had the usual burger toppings, cheese, tomato, pickles, lettuce and a mayo. Taste wise, it was kinda plain and dry. Perhaps it was a bit overcooked as I got it to go. It was hot and freshly cooked - just needed another flavored condiment. Perhaps a nice bright and bold yellow mustard would have done really nice on this.
The fries were excellent! They were the battered style, which allowed them to hold up well and maintained a great crispy bite to them. These didn't need any sauce as the flavor from the seasoning and batter was in full effect.

Proper is, true to its name, a proper restaurant and bar. The food tasted good, but the price was high, so we stuck with the happy hour menu. (Apologies to anyone looking at this post that my photo of the HH menu isn't too clear.) Some food items were still too expensive such as $11 for 1.5 deviled eggs (that's like $7.34 per egg which is a lot even in spite of the cost of eggs now)! Honestly saw the establishment and decided hey this is worth a try. I ended up ordering a draft beer but the cocktails here are incredibly amazing. The service here also is amazing and the bartender is awesome. Let us know about things around also great in conversation and knowledgeable. Super fast, friendly, and helpful service. I came after 11am and missed breakfast so I ordered three tacos: pastor, lengua, and cabeza. Each taco had a nice heaping mound of meat, chopped onions, and a ton of cilantro. The pastor was my favorite of the three but the cabeza definitely had some great flavor. The lengua was yummy too, just not as good as the other two.
They have two home made hot sauces, a green and red. The green one is refreshing and mild, the red one has a good spicy bite to it.
I sat outside with my dog and it was overall a really great little lunch. Their outdoor seating area is small but clean, shaded and well maintained. I will be coming back to try one of their breakfast burritos!

I love El Pollo Loco so every time when I visit the West Coast I would binged. But this location is horrible. The chicken is so dry…. Tried this for brunch. Coffee was delicious, and pairing that with a small Nutella crepe made my morning. Avocado toast was maybe a 2/5! Like I always say, you can tell a good restaurant by their avocado toast. Chilaquiles was also 3/5, compared to what you get in Mexico City.
Portions are huge and reminded me of diners, not necessarily a good thing. Interior is welcoming and staff were friendly and service was prompt.

I'm very disappointed to say the least, as a neighboring business I have tried to support this restaurant but this is the third time i've encountered bad quality. I contacted the restaurant letting them know that the huevos rancheros they packed to go had basically cold tortillas missing egg and tossed in the same container with fruit. The food is always great but there's really no one at the counter anymore. I know this is the way of things but one lady walked up and asked us if she was required to order using the machine like we were. We told her no. I do really like the machine because I can customize easier but I don't always get what I ordered when I customize. I eat TB, frequently and come to this location tons but lately I've been coming far less frequently because they've had an enormous dip in quality. Gotten sick from it twice in one month. Their wait at night is always unbelievably long no matter how many cars are in, and you can never know when they're closed or open because their light fixtures are broken. Bland, fairly tasteless meat, un-melted shredded cheese, and pretentiously "healthy" menu offerings combine to make this place neither authentic Mexican nor flavorful. I felt more like I was in an organic juice bar that happened to sell mediocre Midwestern versions of what Mexican food seems like from afar. Only the guacamole was pretty decent. The tacos were horrifying and made me stop eating them in short order.
On the other hands, my young children were quite elated to eat the food as they enjoy the most bland and uninspiring of flavor combinations. So I give them a star for that, and another for the guacamole.

The owner was also fairly grumpy, watching over my kids and quickly telling them to sit down if they started moving around the store too much. They have a train set suspended over the sitting area, and my kids politely asked if he could turn it on. He refused at first, them grumpily turned it on. Lost some marks there too for making kids feel bad about getting excited about a train he's prominently displayed in his restaurant space.

The Dish is a wonderful place for any meal. With active toasters on the booth tables it reminds one to order a many bread items as possible when ‘Dish-ing’ for breakfast. I recommend the Chicken Piccata but substitute the mashed potatoes with linguini or the excellent Patty Melt sandwich served with humungous onion rings. The Salmon Wrap is also very amazing as it is perfect if one doesn't want to feel stuffed after eating and when paired either with a salad or sliced tomatoes its a perfect balance for one to 'feel healthier' The Green Garden salad that can be chopped upon request is a phenomenal and more healthy option and paired perfectly with an ice tea for lunch.

The service was good and Laura was great! The potatoes where not cooked and when we requested new ones they brought cold ones. Laura did her best to get through potatoes corrected. The manger came and said he was going to take the potatoes off the bill for the inconvenience however, he is to busy with the parties he has here. Decided to go back for my yearly pumpkin pancakes and today was not a disappointment. I met my friend and we both got the small stack although they were a little smaller than they usually are they were still delicious. We always get the butter and the cinnamon whipped cream on the side . The service was great. The coffee was good and strong. The atmosphere gives you that sitting in the kitchen in the morning, having coffee 10 out of 10 would recommend the pumpkin pancakes and a cup of coffee.

We had a good experience at dish after a visit to Descanso Gardens. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the food was good enough. It's a large restaurant, so even though it was packed and Mother's Day, we were seated fairly quickly without a reservation.
The coffee was good enough could've been a little bit stronger. (Full disclosure I need to super strong coffee to live.)
My kid wasn't that friendly and just had fries what she thought were good enough. I had the Florentine Quiche (though our server miss heard me initially and brought Florentine Benedict to start. That was quickly replaced with what I had asked for) the quiche was perfectly prepared. Nice and fluffy key should be. Potatoes on the side. Could've used a little bit more seasoning did the job the potatoes are supposed to do.
My wife had a Florentine Benedict without the English muffin as she is gluten-free. She thought it was good, but would've appreciated more gluten-free bread options.
You can see the local appeal of a restaurant like this with lots of breakfast options, I mean stay when you want classic foods. If we lived in La Canada, I'm sure we'd be there often enough.

Descanso used to have a pretty good menu, albeit overpriced. Since the new remodel, they no longer offer cooked meals, instead have pre-cooked burgers, chicken fingers, etc under heat lamps and a lot of snacks. Such a disappointing lack of effort. Ordered a "grilled' sandwich. When it came, the bread looked like it had been on the grill for about 5 seconds (basically just bread; nothing grilled about it), the cheese hadn't melted at all and the other ingredients were cold.

I want to make this review because Jesus was very friendly and hard working, and Justin the Cashier both are wonderful. Even though it was really busy they both managed to keep everything clean and no complaints. I requested for extra ranch and even though they charge it now, Jesus offered me ranch for free and in return for that gesture I’m returning this review towards the whole staff working the evening shift. The whole staff was working hard, it’s the first I go out to eat and see people giving the best service, customer service and most importantly keeping their customers happy. On Sunday the 2nd of November at 8:30pm I had the best customer service, I requested additional bbq and most places be charging now and most stay firm on that additional charge. Luckily the Manager Jesus told me “that unfortunately it was an additional 60 cents” but then he just gave me the sauce. After that he told me if I could possibly help him out with a google review which I kept my promise. The whole crew was great I can’t complain, Justin I believe was the night cashier was also great. I just looked at them during the rush and both stayed sharp with the whole kitchen crew. I got my food and it was very delicious, and surprisingly the bathroom was clean too. Myself and a friend were in the retail complex for a supposed Mercedes-Benz event that never took place. We decided to investigate the restaurant’s and chose this one.
Once inside we noticed how long it took to get service. My friend thought it was a race related issue but I pointed out how many dirty tables there were from previous customers and how that indicated either not enough staff or someone on staff was out to lunch or on break. It took at least ten minutes and the gentleman that came out apologize for the delay.
We ordered our food and the food was brought out in a decent period of time. My burger was presented nicely but I wasn’t particularly impressed. I asked for extra raw onion and I barely got a few silvers. I also asked for a different cut of cheese and it was there, so that was good. Eating the burger I noticed the edges of the patty was slightly overcooked beyond the medium rare I asked for.
We finished our meal and decided we were satisfied but not enthusiastic enough to find ourselves recommending the place. The meal prices were fair but our overall experience just wasn’t making the cut.
The staff was nice… however, if you live in the area then you’ve probably have been here and if you’re planning on visiting, you may as well. I’m thinking our day just wasn’t our day. Maybe your experience will be different.

It's been a while since I've actually been able to go there and grab a drink or food and hang out. This past Memorial day I did. The attitudes of the employees was great even though they were working on a holiday.
They've always been really cool about all the riders and driver's that just show up to hang out with everyone.

Awesome place to stop for quality food and a friendly motorcycle crowd. Worth the journey. The bike shop inside is stocked with quality riding gear from helmets, to gloves and even has a bike for sale in the middle of the shop. Home away from home. A place for friends to gather outdoors just far enough from LA that we can forget it all. Along the 2 highway from LA Canada to Palmdale area is Newcombs Ranch. Good food good people good beer good times. Church for motorcyclists on the twists, and a haven for hikers and others camping. You can also see amazing cars up here. Car commerical, exotics, meetups...all of it. Newcombs will be there to help jump a car, tow a bike, supply a camping permit, almost anything. The staff here are friends. All are welcome. Just remember this aint LA. Leave the attitude and breathe in the fresh air! And most of all be safe on the roads and take care of each other!
July 2017 Edit: Its still 5 stars and unlikely to change. This is now the 3rd time in as many months that I have witnessed them loan the phone for AAA and then some. A roadhouse church to be sure. Be kind to the staff and it will be returned 100x. My favorite stopping point on So Cal.

I came on Thanksgiving (2018). It was REALLY busy, but my order was taken right away and I got my food very quickly. The girl who handled my order was super nice and professional.
