Im an American, Celiac, a dog owner mother and a satisfied customer. The dishes are very authentic (or very close) and a lot of options you would not be able to find in the UK!
And the fully separate gluten free menu is incredibly good, including buns burgers chips fried goodies deserts ect.
They have also absolutely spoiled our hounds with special seating snd complimentary snacks and fussing.
The service is amazing, A+ with not just American decor but also an environment that allows you to forget where you are (or aren't) the cocktails are all *very* memorable.
However the meal may run you up a bill (despite being worth it ) so I would not recommend it ad a casual dining place, despite the very casual atmosphere.

The food is always absolutely fantastic here. I highly recommend the Oklahoma Smash Burger with all the extras. While I forgot to snap a photo, trust me when I say both the burger and fries were perfectly crispy, and packed with flavour.
Be sure to save room for dessert though, the waffle plate options are the perfect way to round off your meal. Sweet, indulgent, and totally worth it.
The service was also very nice. Our waitress made sure everything was just right. Friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Exactly what you’d hope for in a great dining experience.

We attended Hickory’s West Kirby this evening for NFL Sunday. It was a planned evening to watch the 49ers play in memory of our dad who passed away unexpectedly recently. My dad was a massive 49ers fan for over 40 years and as an NFL family the evening was very important to us.
I had explained when booking that we had planned to attend regularly with my dad before he passed away and that heartbreakingly it never happened.
On arrival we found our table set up with a 49ers flag and we were given a shot each in memory of dad. The whole night the staff were amazing and the meal was outstanding.
I would like to thank the whole team at Hickory’s for making a hard night so special and we as a family are beyond grateful for your kindness and helping us honour our dad in such a special way. He would have loved being there.
The night was topped off by the 49ers winning and as a family we look forward to many future NFL Sundays at Hickory’s.
Everything was 5 star from start to finish and I highly recommend everyone to visit. We as a family feel it is the best restaurant we have ever been to and are so glad we chose you to celebrate our amazing dad and his beloved 49ers.

Fell across this place and it's a total gem . We were waiting for a show later in the day and were walking in the area when we saw this restraunt. It really is a lovely place with great staff . The food I have to say is amazing . It tastes wonderful! So well presented and freshly cooked , amazing !

Called in for a quick drink with friends on a Saturday afternoon in March 2025, as a first time visitor.
The place was clean and nicely laid out, and we were greeted with a friendly smile from the staff.
Staff were polite and we didn’t feel rushed at any point, even though we were only having a drink, and the atmosphere was relaxed and really made for a good experience. We all ordered cocktails, and none of them disappointed – I had the ‘bakewell tart’ one, and it was delicious: very well made and at a good price.

We were a party of four travelling from London, and our train was delayed. I called The Wro to let them know we’d be late for our 8:30 pm booking, and they kindly assured us we could still get food.
Negatives:
Unfortunately, the meal was very disappointing. The food tasted like it had come straight from the freezer. The Gambas al pil pil were particularly poor — pale prawns smothered in an overly hot mayo. The calamari, chicken, and burger all seemed frozen and lacked flavour or freshness. Honestly, it felt like a bad supermarket version of pub food.
£99 later, we left early — despite planning to spend the rest of the evening there. Such a shame, as The Wro used to be a favourite.

Cater to all food preferences (meat,veg,vegan) honestly I've never had anything but perfect food from here. So much so, I had my dad's 70th birthday party, where they were so kind to give my dad a free birthday drink which he loved.
Food is always amazingly well cooked, all foods come out in good time one after another, and it is a repeat go to for both myself and my extended family. Booked The Wro Loft for my baby shower last weekend. The staff on the lead up to the event were great, they showed me around the space, gave me all the information I’d need & answered all the questions I had. I kept in touch via email, filling in all their planning pack so they had the correct information for my event. They even accommodated adding lower tables for my elderly guests which was great.
We had afternoon tea which everyone fully enjoyed, the staff that were stationed upstairs with us for the event were amazing (didn’t manage to get their names) but they were very attentive, making sure I was happy with everything throughout & serving all my guests copious amounts of tea and coffee along with any other drinks from behind the bar.
The afternoon tea was all freshly made & the cakes were all amazing, only the scone let it down as it was a bit tough and not much filling (I prefer to add my own cream & jam). The only other thing I would suggest would be to have a knife & spoon for each guest as I had to use my tea spoon to eat the meringue (which was incredible 😍) and then again to cut my scone in half.
But all in all, such a lovely space to have any event, I wouldn’t hesitate to use The Wro again

Been coming here for a few months now and it’s our absolute favourite brunch spot. Food is always excellent and the Turkish eggs are spot on! I’m unsure of their names, but there is a taller male server with glasses who is an asset to your business he is always friendly. A real gem in West Kirby! We loved Aubergine Café so much, we visited twice during our stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home as soon as we walked in. The café itself is a beautiful, airy space with a relaxed and inviting atmosphere.

A lovely little cafe full of charm and serving the best cooked breakfast me and my girlfriend have had in a long time. The staff are ever so friendly, helpful and attentive. Everything was clean and fresh leaving you feeling comfortable and relaxed. Although it was extremely busy and we had a sort wait for a table once inside and seated there was no feeling of being rushed to make way for the next customers at any point.
All the food is cooked fresh and to perfection with a lovely big pot of tea at the side. We are both made up we found this little gem and look forward to our next visit.

I had the lamb chops last night and can genuinely say they were the best I’ve ever had. Packed full of flavour and tender. Came across here quite by chance. From the outset the restaurant looked both attractive and inviting, this despite being set back from the main road. I hadn't booked a table however the staff were friendly and attentive and couldn't have been better.
As for the food, well that's were the real enjoyment was. I opted for the sea bass and the portion size was perfect as was the style and flavours of this dish.

Last night my band (Toneacity Entertainment) provided entertainment for a wedding at The Manor. You could drive past this place and just mistake it for a nice looking pub. Three of us came here because it was a lovely sunny evening in July, and we haven't really explored much around the Westkirby area before.
As it was Monday, some of the venues were closed. So we decided to try "Andre's" as it was open and the settings were quite pleasant.
The food we ordered was nice, fresh and tasted just right. They had my favourite Whitebait on the menu 😄. I had the BBQ Ribs, the meat was tender and the sauce was indeed homemade as it was not too sweet nor sour like most bottled ones do. The pasta and the pizza were also great according to my friends.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the service was quite fast and excellent.

The staff are extremely friendly, and the service was fast. The restaurant was around 80% full and I managed to get my food within around 10mins. Every time I went here, I had a basic margarita pizza and it was incredible.
Only issue I had with the pizza, was that this time the pizza was slightly burned on the side, but overall it was a great pizza and highly recommended getting one while you are there.
Pricing is relatively decent, but overall the place was good.

Second visit to this great little café. On both occasions we have sat indoors (2 people and 3 dogs) and had lovely food and drinks and an excellent experience.
Staff are friendly and helpful - bringing our dogs water on a hot day & holding their leads when we needed an extra pair of hands.

Me and my husband visited Royal Bengal over the weekend to celebrate our anniversary. As soon as we arrived we was greeted with a smile and welcomed in. The friendly and welcoming service carried on throughout our evening. Everyone worked as a team and it was great to see the staff were passionate about their job and the food they serve. The food was amazing, every dish was beyond expectation and the flavours were like an explosion in your mouth. We’ve been to many Indian restaurants that claim to be authentic but I can truly say Royal Bengal lived up to the expectation. Had an fantastic meal at this Indian restaurant! The food was bang on — full of flavour, fresh, and cooked to perfection. Every dish had that proper authentic taste, and the spice levels were just right. The staff were sound as well — friendly, attentive, and couldn’t do enough for us. The place had a dead nice atmosphere too, proper cosy but still buzzing. If you’re after a top-notch curry on the Wirral, this is the place to go. I have been a regular at the Shuhel for over 5 years. I love curry and I have never yet had a disappointing meal, the quality, taste and quantities are excellent. I am addicted to Chicken Madras with Shuhel Special Rice, which includes small pieces of chicken, as well as chickpeas, spinach etc. They have a loyalty scheme, where you get stamps for each £12.50 spent and 8 stamps gets a free starter and main meal. Called in for lunch with friends on a Saturday afternoon in March 2025, as a first time visitor.
The place was clean and nicely laid out, and we were greeted on arrival with a friendly smile from the staff.
Staff were polite and we didn’t feel rushed at any point, even though we took our time perusing the drinks and food menus, and as it wasn’t overly busy the atmosphere was relaxed and really made for a good experience. The brilliant staff next door recommended we pop here and they would allow the food to be brought into the pub.

Called in for a quick drink with friends on a Saturday afternoon in March 2025, as knew the place well as it’s a reliable venue we’d all visited before.
The place was clean and nicely laid out, although busy as always but we managed to get a table for two and then pulled two extra chairs over. Staff were busy and bar server seemed to know little about the ale range – but again, that’s not unexpected for the Tap.
Ordered three beers and a prosecco – all good, and fairly priced. As it was busy there was quite a bit of background noise, so we only stayed for one and then left.
Would recommend, and will at some point visit again but given during the afternoon we found several venues we’d not been to before, we’d probably give one of those a second try as they were generally quieter, had more engaged staff, and were of a comparable price.

What a great find. Went because it’s recommended in the Cheshire Pub Walks book. The young lad behind the bar was so patient helping me to choose a selection of craft beers for a beer bat. The pizza was really good and the fish & chips were gorgeous. And then, after 21:00 on a Saturday night, the place came alive when live music from Raised on Vinyl got everyone up dancing. I also loved the donated books from the West Kirby Bookshop for people to take and read, and to donate a book when they can. We’ll be back at the pub, and we’ll bring a book to donate next time too.

The West Kirby tap is a bustling and well run pub, with lots of good beers on offer. The staff are lovely and Natalie was super helpful during our visit on Saturday.
There are several of their own brewery, Spitting Feathers, beers and lots of great guest beers.
We usually grab a pizza here, which are excellent and about £12 each, but the kitchen was closed today. It was no problem though as they allowed food in from the brilliant restaurant, Grand Ave, next door.
The pub is always dog friendly and welcomes well behaved dogs. A must visit if you are in the area.

I found The Good Hood via an IG post and immediately had to go. It's got a fun grunge vibe with graffiti and neon on the walls, with multiple booths and an outdoor seating area (that I didn't see but will go next time).
Food is probably loosely 'American' themes: burgers, fries, dogs, and cocktails - but don't let that fool you, as these are absolutely fantastic.
Sharing nachos were fantastic and came straight in the hot frying pan. Melted cheese, jalapenos, lots of flavoursome toppings.
The burger I had was the Pure Joy chicken, and it had curry mayo, crispy bacon, melty onions. The buttermilk chicken was off the charts - not quite sure how they've prepared it but it was phenomenal.
Went quite late in the evening, so they were out of the cheesy corn dogs, but I will be back, and back soon!

Came down for a burger today and was blown away! I had the Comfort, the meat was tender and spiced well, the liquid cheese was decadent and rich. I sat out in the newly opened beer garden. The graffiti, done by a local artist I was told, is quirky and cool and fits in with the whole vibe really naturally. I would recommend to anyone to go down and try it out!

On arrival, we noticed some food sitting in the hatch waiting to be served. We waited at the bar for a while, and so did the food in the hatch. We decided to just get some drinks whilst we thought about what to do, but it took a very long time to get served.

My husband and I got married at Hillbark last year and I really struggle for words to describe how amazing it was and how incredible Hillbark is - it really is one of a kind. From even the first appointment to view the venue to the wedding day, everything was perfect and they are so so good at what they do! Charlotte, our co-ordinator was brilliant - she is so professional, dedicated and reassuring. You know she has everything under control and she will look after you so well that you don't need to worry at all about any of the logistics of your day. She is also a lot of fun so is great to work with!
The venue is beautiful and all our guests commented on how gorgeous it was and how high the standard of service from the staff was. The rooms are super comfortable and it was honestly the perfect venue for our wedding.

Sorry to say, but a very disappointing meal from Fu Lam in West Kirby today. Ordered Sweet and Sour Chicken with half fried rice and half chips. The chicken was difficult to find, buried in thick heavy batter. The takeaway meal cost 8 pounds. There were no vegetables at all, or pineapple etc in the sweet sticky sauce. I took the meal back to Fu Lam to say I think there had been a mistake with my order, as there were no vegetables in the main dish. I was told by the Chinese lady, who I presume was the owner, that people around here don’t like any vegetables in their sweet and sour chicken! I replied that I did, and I always got them in my sweet and sour chicken automatically at every other Chinese takeaway I have been to. The lady said she was sorry, but that was how the dish came. I said I couldn’t eat the food as it was very stodgy and unhealthy with so much thick batter, and no vegetables at all. The lady said sorry again, that’s just how it came. No alternative dish or refund was offered. There were no other customers in Fu Lam when I initially ordered my meal, nor when I returned to speak to them about what I thought was a mistake with my food. After our walk today we came here for a pint or two. I've been coming here for the last 15 years or so and the bar and interior have never really changed in all that time, till COVID came in. It was somewhere around that time that they slowly started work on the rear beer garden. It's now been completely refurbished and grassed over and they've installed new benches. They also installed a nice pond with some huge Koi carp. As well as this they built a massive wooden conservatory which is handy when the weathers not too good. They always have a great range of real ales and beers. The staff were very helpful and pleasant.

It is great to have a pub like this in the town, full of historical charm inside and a great little suntrap of a garden. The range of drinks is really good considering the bar seems small. I had a very negative experience today when i visited the White Lion pub with some of my friends. We went out into the garden bit and sat down and ordered some soft drinks. We were immediately verbally abused by this vicious rude old woman who appeared to be a manager of some sort, or at least wanted to be. She then went on to practically throw us out of the pub, bare in mind it was also only 6pm therefore there was no reason to abuse and throw out a small group of 17-18 year olds. I was disgusted at this treatment as we were given no reason as to why we had to leave and this woman was EXTREMELY rude and disrespectful despite us being willing to provide service to the pub. A great little restaurant here in Leasowe Castle. The food here is excellent and cooked beautifully. The ribs were superb, the best I've ever had, the meat just fell off the bone. Now, the beef roast.....wow. With a little dollop of horse radish sauce, yum. Had this on a Sunday evening. Two courses for less than £20.00. This is great value. My wife had the spring rolls, which she said were delicious and not greasy at all, and the seabass was beautiful and light. The lemon gel complimented it perfectly. I would highly recommend anyone trying here. The menu options for other meals aren't too vast either, which means you get lovely food, that is cooked very well. Some places have far too much choice, which in my opinion can be overwhelming and can affect the overall quality. The service here is great, and the staff are always attentive and polite. Give it a try, and I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

The waitress had no idea when it came to simple questions as what syrups are available also with the simple request of cream cheese on the meal. Had a late lunch with family. Nice choice of meals. Our group had the steak pie, beef, salt and pepper chicken burger and a children’s sausage and chips. Food was very tasty. The venue itself is lovely but I would say the food lets it down (pastas) me and friends got a pasta main which was all bland and the ravioli was really dry and the arribatas bland, taste of just pure tinned tomato’s and the pasta was over cooked. We have eaten at Forza a few times; the pizza is excellent. Very good service too and yesterday it was no exception. The chef is visibly working very hard to deliver very nice,freshly prepared and well presented food ( I also had pasta once and it was very nice) . We attended the monthly supper club, for a traditional Chinese taster menu and had a wonderful evening. Booking in advance is a must.
Tables were laid out in two long bench style arrangements and there are 12 people per table. We attended as a group of four and had a group either side of us, who were lovely and we had a great chat with.
The host gave a talk at the start with her visiting chef friend about the dishes we’d be served throughout the night and then periodically we’d be brought out each sharer or main dish.
It’s also bring your own beer for the event, so to have a bottle of wine of your choice is also a bonus.

Best Tapas in Town! We visited on Friday evening, for Tapas, we had a wonderful selection of incredibly delicious dishes. I’m Vegan and my partner is coeliac, the owner was able to ‘veganise’ so many dishes and almost all were gluten free. We struggle to eat out, however, we left with full bellies and very satisfied. Usually I don't visit West Kirby too often as usually not too much to do during this time of year, I visited a few months ago during late summer and this place appeared to be relatively busy at the time, I brought my friend to West Kirby at his request and he persuaded us to try this place out, we arrived and were greeted by the staff who were friendly, we were able to select a table as the place was a bit quiet at the time of visit during the late afternoon, I believe this was because it was pouring down so the weather was not the best. I believe this visit was during a Monday as well
We both ordered the Haddock & Chips for our food at about £15 each and I have to say it was absolutely delicious, it was fresh, wonderfully prepared and very much Melt In The Mouth, very much enjoyed it and would highly recommend everyone to visit this independent establishment, if the weather picks up and you get a good table you definitely can get a lovely view out towards the Coast, Would I comeback? Absolutely! I would much prefer to support the Local & Independent businesses that need it the most especially during these times.

Having had a hip replacement last year our walks have been confined to up and down the flat of South Parade. We then saw, for the first time, THE SALE LOFT. We"d spotted the building before but not known it was a restaurant. After our walk we went back and had lunch there.
Very impressed. The food was lovely, the situation with the views across the Dee Estuary onto Hilbre and beyond are superb. The staff were brilliant, even though our friend from Minnesota can't understand Scouse humour. 😅😂 She was still lovely ♥️. My wife said the wine was good, so I can definitely say we will be back.

I went to the Ring O' Bells for Sunday lunch, my first visit since reopening. I admit I was surprised that the refurb was so good. We were a party of 4 for Sunday lunch and the food was excellent, we sat in the new extension which was very well done.
We all enjoyed our meals and the wine and beer were also good. For me the standout thing was the staff, it was busy as you might expect, however nothing was too much trouble. Andy and his very friendly staff didn't stop buzzing about ensuring everybody was enjoying their visit.
In a time when eating out can be expensive and often not such good value, the Ring O' Bells stands out as a venue with great staff, great food and good value. I will be back soon.

Chicken satay starter was a little small and disappointing compared to my great experience (see previous photo) last time, but nice.

What a place! The staff are lovely and the meals, mixed starter (YUM!) and then green & Panang curries, amazing! So authentically Thai and the meals and sauce that went with the meats I have to say, I’m so so happy! Wednesday night had 4 groups in and nothing was a problem for the staff. Pleasant, calm and very nice.
The place has a minimal style to it (adopted from the previous owners) but it’s light and airy with full size windows and simple tables. Me and my wife has a glorious time and the staff were amazing! We WILL be back!

To start, I had the ribs and the sharing platter for 2 and they tasted great! I shared this between me and a friend and thought this was enough but a couple more ribs would have been nice. The sharing platter comes with a great selection of different starters and is a perfect way to start.
For my main, I had the Thai green curry with chicken and coconut rice. The curry was spicey but not too bad but the taste was amazing, best I’ve had. It also went really well with the coconut rice, would recommend.
The service was quite slow but it was Friday night and completely full so can understand. The waiters were helpful and polite.
Overall, I would highly recommend this if you want a nice, well priced meal.

We booked Seafood Shack to serve a paella in our garden the day after our daughter’s wedding. They were really good, turned up on time with all of their kit. The paella was very tasty and there was plenty of it. Having it cooked there, in the garden, was lovely and all of our guests, including Spanish friends and family were very impressed.
