The Time and Tide Museum of Great Yarmouth Life is a captivating maritime museum located in a converted Victorian warehouse that was once used for herring curing. The museum offers an immersive journey through the history of Great Yarmouth, from its Ice Age origins to its development as a popular seaside resort. Visitors can explore reconstructed Victorian row houses, experience life on board a drifter, and step into a 1950s fish wharf scene.
Brilliant museum and well worth a visit. Perfect for a chilly day on the coast. We spent good few hours here learning the history of the local area and the building itself. There was also a fab exhibition on Automata that my son loved.

I loved this museum. Lots to see , well set out and so interesting. Friendly and helpful staff. One of the best museums I’ve visited and there has been a lot of them ! So much to learn about the history of Great Yarmouth. A real gem. Highly recommended.
Patricia C — Google review
A very good museum covering a lot of history with varied exhibits. Using the building to tell the story of the Herring industry is unique and interesting. Pleasant staff, decent gift shop and easy to park. Well priced and recommended 👌

Definitely worth visiting. Give yourself plenty of time. So at least 2 hours. You could easily go longer.Lots of things to keep both young and old entertained. We booked the tickets online. There's a carpark nearby if you're driving. Staff were kind and helpful. There was a special exhibition of 50 years of Miffy which was equally enjoyable. Certainly recommend as an great day out for the family

A real gem in Great Yarmouth. It's much larger that it appears and the museum has great exhibits on the rich history of the town like the fishing industry, the gone rows or the seaside holiday destination it was for decades

What a Fantastic Place to explore cheap entrance fee and very very imformative plenty of artifacts to see and a lot of imformation at hand to read and find out about the time>Theres even a smokey smell as you go round reminding you of smoking haddock.Time moves forward as you go around untill you arrive at the 60s and 70s part which brings back so many memories of my childhood absolutley worh a visit and could easily spend 2-3 hours here.Finished off with a drink and snack in the tea room very nice.

Aquarium
SEA LIFE Great Yarmouth is a family-friendly attraction located on the famous seafront of Great Yarmouth. It offers a variety of sea creatures, including blacktip reef sharks, African dwarf crocodiles, and clownfish. Visitors can explore the world of jellyfish in the Jelly Invaders display, observe Humboldt penguins, and walk through an ocean tunnel surrounded by a quarter-million liters of seawater.
Visit the sea life centre at least once a year. We absolutely love it. Lots of information points as you walk around about the animals around you. We particularly enjoy the submarine that you can walk into and see animals much closer, including the sting rays and blue lobsters.
Catherine B — Google review
Ignore what it says online as its says to be there for the time you booked but getting there you get a stamp and are told you can come and go as you please! So this is great if you wanna hear all the talks or go in and out and get a coffee. Place needs a damn good clean!!! But other than that still nice to look around! The talks and feedings were great too!
Natasha P — Google review
My son had a lovely time touching the starfish and little waterfall, and loved the sharks. Staff were understanding of his autism and that was much appreciated, cool octopus there too! Going to take him to see the penguins next time. Prices were better too off season, only £16 pp, and a free ticket for a carer if you're on PIP, so saved £16 too. Overall good activity for kids and adults alike, but the gift shop is very expensive! Avoid at all costs if possible haha! Only a stone's throw away from places to get food and drink too, and right on the sea front, bowling alley on the nearby Wellington Pier and arcades also. Very well situated, also close to Pleasure Beach. I'd recommend it to anyone with kids.
Elvira N — Google review
Walk through tunnel was lovely, good for the kids to see the animals well. In the room with yellow submarine, you were about to previously purchase food and feed the fish. There was a crocodile which you don't always see at sealife centres. Option to touch a starfish too. Nice as you could pay a little extra and it got you entry to the Giant Wheel too! Gift shop is very large, took kids a long time to pick something.
Charlotte N — Google review
Not as big as other Sealife Centre s but still plenty to see and do. The café was reasonably priced and the bathroom facilities were very clean. Ample room to change the baby.
Christine C — Google review
Highly recommended to book ticket online since it has discount for blue light card or student etc. The ticket allowed you to go in and out for a day multiple times. Although I must say this aquarium is not as big as others we had been like London, Newquay, Weymouth and Birmingham. Having said that we enjoyed the tunnel watching, penguin, fresh water fish, amphibians and experience on touching star fish.

Our first visit to Great Yarmouth and to the Sea Life Centre been to Blackpool one years ago. This was a different set up bit smaller but nicely set out with Real Penguins talks were imformative and interesting Tanks clean and tidy enjoyable experience cafe clean and plenty of room with clean toilets. Can re-enter after you have left which is a bonus and makes it good value
Paul A — Google review
Visited the SeaLife centre with my daughter whilst on holiday at Great Yarmouth. Bought the tickets in advance. I did get my hand stamped as they said I could enter the shop and cafe anytime that day up to 3pm. Soon as we entered there was a member of staff waiting to take photos for us to purchase at the end. It was good, not as big as the one in London tho, we saw the penguins 🐧 the sharks, loads of fishes, sea horses, octopus 🐙 (can’t believe they have 9 brains 🧠 and 3 hearts)once we came to the end we did purchase our photos they did have a deal (we got 2 photos 2 magnets and 2 small keyring sized pics for £20) then we stopped off to have a look in the gift shop. Overall it was a nice experience as this was our first time visiting the Great Yarmouth SeaLife. 👍🏻

This charming attraction features an intricately designed model village complete with a stunning garden railway, whimsical penny arcade, and engaging mini-golf course.
Absolutely loved visiting this place while we were on holiday - we brought tickets and was able to go again for free withing the week of purchase. Friendly staff, even have a little miniature golf course. My little boy absolutely loved watching the fish in the pond. Would definitely reccomend if this is something youre interested in.

Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach is a vibrant amusement park located on the Golden Mile by the beach. It covers a vast nine-acre area and offers an array of attractions suitable for all ages. From thrilling roller coasters to traditional rides, there's something for everyone. The park also features Pleasure Beach Gardens catering to younger children, as well as amusement arcades and various dining options.
My new favourite Amusement Park not in Staffordshire or Lancashire! No ride queues and I went on a Saturday in summer! Granted i was with the group which got an extra 2 hours, but still...
Ripsaw P — Google review
Came today. we paid for a card on entry. Easy to use, and you can top up/check balance in lots of places in the park. Most rides are for young kids, nothing too extreme. The wooden roller coaster and monorail were good. Staff seemed friendly, especially the lady at the entrance. Excellent customer service 👍

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Had an amazing day at Great Yarmouth Beach – perfect for a fun family outing! The soft sand and lovely sea made it such a relaxing experience. It wasn’t too busy, which was a nice surprise, and the atmosphere was great. We enjoyed some fresh fish and chips by the sea – absolutely delicious and full of flavour! The only downside was the number of seagulls (they really love the chips!), but it didn’t spoil the day. All in all, a fantastic spot for some seaside fun. Highly recommended!
Khaleda — Google review
We visited here on a Wednesday evening, for the late opening hours, in late July and arrived at half five, meaning we could take advantage of the late evening wristband pricing (£17 for 5 until 9:30). There are also fun cards at £5 or £10 which offer 5 or 10 ride credits and can be topped up inside the park. However suspect the latter are a false economy if you have more than 2 or 3 rides - especially in the evening, as most main rides are 4 or 5 credits. There was a fair size of queue to the ticket booth but it moved quickly and probably only took 5 to 10 minutes to get to the entrance. There is a good range of flat rides and four coasters, with all costers being aimed at family-friendly. The wooden roller coaster is the oldest in the UK and has a brake man riding on the train. While not the smoothest or comfiest ride, it is good to ride a bit of history. The remaining three are Family Star, a short spinning wild mouse and two small kiddy coasters. The flat rides are good variety, with spinning and drops and also a gyro swing. What struck us was that the park was relatively quiet for school holiday season and queues were short. The ride throughput would be increased further if the very slow wristband scanning was not performed - not really sure why this is needed as takes a got 10 seconds to read each one, based on our experience. Food offerings are OK - there is a large hot food stall that does hotdogs (not so good), burgers (better) and loaded fries (decent) amongst other offerings. All in all, worth a visit even in peak summer as really never felt busy and plenty of ride opportunities.
Ian A — Google review
Went as a family. You can get 5 credits to get in and use on one ride if going with a group of kids. The food hall and bar are great. The rides make it more like a smaller fair rather than a pleasure beach like Blackpool but still great.
Gary A — Google review
A Fantastic Day Out at Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach! We had an amazing time at Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach! There’s a perfect mix of classic rides, family-friendly attractions, and thrill-seeking roller coasters. The historic wooden roller coaster is an absolute must-try – a true blast from the past! The park was clean, well-organised, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout the day. Entry with the wristband is great value for money, especially if you’re planning to go on lots of rides. It’s also right by the beach, so we could enjoy the rides and then relax with some fish and chips on the seafront. Plenty of food options, clean toilets, and seating areas made it comfortable for families. Whether you’re visiting with kids, friends, or as a couple, it’s a great spot for some good old-fashioned fun. Highly recommend – we’ll definitely be back next summer!
A J — Google review
I couldn't really find anything to fault here yesterday with three bored kids. Despite it being a Peak Season Sunday all the queues were very short, just a couple of minutes. A little longer for the big coaster but even that was less than ten minutes. Every ride looked to be well staffed, no litter in sight. The guy manning the Dodgems literally couldn't have been more helpful and friendly, he gave the impression he genuinely wanted to be there. Over the course of the day my lads went on about thirty(!) rides each, so they got superb value from their 'all rides' wristbands. The only thing I could ask was for some concessions for Blue Light card holders, other than that, an easy five stars!

This purpose-built circus building offers classical and pop concerts as well as water spectacles within its unusual circus ring. Owned by former pop musician Peter Jay, the venue hosts the Great Yarmouth Summer Spectacular featuring high-class performers.
Brilliant time at the summer spectacular. All the acts are so talented, it's just wonderful to watch. We went for ringside seats and my daughter is still buzzing from being included in one bit of banter. If you're thinking about going, do it! Really good value.

Excellent show. Best Circus I've seen. Brilliant talented performers. Highly recommend. Children 2-8yrs engrossed throughout. A reason to return to Great Yarmouth.
Emma B — Google review
Despite visiting the area multiple times a year, we have never been to the Hippodrome until 31st Oct. It was absolutely amazing! Such a beautiful building and you can see the love and care this family pour into it. It is like stepping back in time and it is one of the best experiences you can book in the area. The performers are SO good, total professionals. Something for everyone and it is very very rare quality old school entertainment with a modern twist start to finish. Exceptional. Prices are not overly high, theres a cafe and it really is worth an afternoon/evening visit. Rather than chuck your money in the arcades, support this unique experience. I cant recommend it highly enough, it a must do.

What an experience!! Outstanding circus acts, very varied.....and the motorcycles in the 'death cage' sequence was BONKERS!! Great value, suitable for the whole family. I didn't expect the amazing quality!

So fortunate to have this beautiful place right on my doorstep! Photos are from Summer Spectacular and Spooktaular, I love how they have decorated with the globe string lights around the circus! Very reasonable prices (£20 from top ring seats which works out £10 per interval) Love the hippodrome pool! (Yet to visit a Christmas event, as Johnny Mac returns to Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 to visit his family) Love that it’s a family run business and the Jay family have done a fantastic job over these years (1981) The hippodrome was built in 1903 and is definitely a bucket list if visiting Great Yarmouth/ England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Look forward to returning!

A must visit if you are in Great Yarmouth. 1 show, 2 halves of 5o minutes with an intermission in-between. Acts are refreshed every 6 months with multiple acts from around the world! A great show for all ages.

The Hippodrome Summer show is a highlight for my family every year we are back in Norfolk visiting family. The dancers are always amazing and everyone before, during and after the show so friendly. My boys absolutely love Johnny Mac and Jack and the acts are always so talented and awe inspiring but this year really brilliant. The stage hands, band and everyone involved are also just awesome. We enjoyed every minute! Thank you all x

A great find, some great dishes with a strong Greek influence. Good size portions and reasonable prices. Visited with two young grand kids. Friendly service giving good instructions on how to order. Highly recommended but they may consider a couple of kids choices for fussy eaters

This was our first visit but definitely not our last. What a wonderful place. Great atmosphere, super friendly. The food was delicious especially the trio of desserts. We over ordered and couldn’t eat it all as we got carried away. The staff were absolutely brilliant. They were young and a credit to themselves and their employer. Looking forward to returning.

Chico's Restaurant, nestled along the picturesque Marine Parade in Great Yarmouth, is a delightful destination for seafood lovers and those seeking a memorable dining experience. This charming eatery specializes in an array of continental bistro fare with a strong emphasis on fresh seafood, making it perfect for special occasions or casual outings alike. The menu boasts an impressive selection that includes mouthwatering dishes like lobster and seabass, alongside traditional favorites such as fish and chips.
Visited early this month for my dad's birthday and what a gift it was!!! The food was phenomenal. Service was equally as great. Nothing was too much trouble, Steak was 10/10, cooked to absolute perfection. Kids meal deal was generous too, the dessert was beautifully done. All in all, we have no complaints, apart from wishing we'd tried Chicos sooner!! We will absolutely be back. Thank you!!
Becky R — Google review
We've been to Chicos twice in the last 2 years. We live out of county (travelled up for holiday from Essex) and always fancy some lovely and wholesome fresh seafood. Lovely little restaurant with super attentive and friendly waiting staff. Good atmosphere, but it does get busy, especially during peak season and peak times, so be sure to book in advance to avoid disappointment. In 2023, we had my mom over from South Africa, and we had a summer break in Norfolk, so I booked with Chicos, and we all had very tasty and filling meals. It was well worth it. The service was great and we didn't have to wait too long and the food was served nice and warm. The dessert was yummy as well. In October 2024, again, we visited the local area (Hopton - a few miles down the coast from Yarmouth) for half-term and booked at Chicos again. This time, we felt the service was not up to their usual very high standards, as we waited longer than we normally would to get our food, and my son was absolutely ravenous, so it was a bit disappointing. We noted that they were busy that evening, so maybe that's why. When the food arrived, the portions were generous, but my son's fish was a bit overcooked and dry, and the batter was too thick and crispy for his liking. My salmon was a good size with added veggies, etc, though the salmon was a bit dry as well. Again, maybe cooked too long? My greek salad was nice, though. My wife had the lobster, which was good, just lacking enough garlic sauce to go with it. By the time we were done, we had been there a while and decided not to do dessert and decided to pay up and go. Overall, we definitely had a much better experience at Chicos in August 2023, compared to October 2024 (a bit difficult to rate properly as not able to give 1/2 stars - possibly an overall 3 and 1/2 star rating overall would be fairer). Have never had a problem with the owner, and they have always been kind, friendly, and responsive during communications and bookings, but do wonder if our last visit was just a once-off, we will never know as my wife has asked me not to book at Chicos again and try other seafood restaurants in the area. It's such a shame.

We were in Yarmouth for few days and in need of some good grub. As a guy of 42 years old, this has to be in my top three restaurants of all time Good price, proper staff with good characters instead of clinical robotic types, decent decor and the food was the fantastic menu. A real good selection of food. We had lasagne and garlic chicken. We were late in and they accommodated us. The servers had a good sense of humour, the food was outstanding for the price and I really cannot find a single fault with the place. If ever back in Yarmouth I'm headed straight back here to try some other meals. This is how diners should be as far as I'm concerned. Serving proper grub with character and a decent bunch of friendly staff. Bloody brilliant. Thanks so much.
Ashley L — Google review
Everything is prepared with care, tastes delicious and is obviously very fresh. You might be tempted to go for the fish and chips, being on the seaside, but I highly recommend trying the BBQ chicken wings with their home made sauce. They’re lip smackingly spectacular. We enjoyed everything that we ordered and would love to visit again if we’re ever in the area.

Where to start! We did not book but highly recommend you do, the owner offered us a table by the cooking area which we accepted but within a couple of minutes she had rearranged other people's seating to accommodate us in the restaurant, fantastic service and food, we had the fish platter for 2 to share, very good portion size and cooked to perfection. All staff very friendly and attentive. If in the area again would definitely visit again. Thank you a lovely evening

Chico’s……. Well, what is there to say?. Wow what an evening we had. The staff are so friendly. Made you feel relaxed and more than helpful when asked for suggestions. The food is just something else. We chose the surf & Turf sharing platter. OMG!!! What an epic meal. Tomahawk steak (huge!!) Lobster (Huge) and fries. I advise, if you go, go on an empty stomach. There are no words that will express our gratitude for such a wonderful meal. Thank you all at Chico’s. See you all again soon.
Mike C — Google review
Whilst I though the food was nice I thought it was a bit over priced for the portion size. I also felt like the staff were quite moody with us and we felt a bit uncomfortable. If you like seafood, they have a great menu for you, but I feel the atmosphere could of been better , especially when you spending 260 on a meal .

Wonderful From the moment you press the bell to the end of dinner it’s a fantastic experience. Beautiful cocktail lounge with extensive menu, delicious food and a lovely ambience. It’s so apparent how happy the team are, as their love for their restaurant shines through. Highly recommend

An exceptionally unique dining experience! Our holiday companion booked Pamela’s for dinner and we were unsure of what to expect, however we were assured of good quality food and a great experience and we certainly were not disappointed. Upon arrival we were shown to a table in the lounge, provided with the menus and ordered drinks. Service is exceptionally professional and friendly from arrival to departure. The decor is most unique and very fun to take in. The upstairs dining room is more casual and I loved watching the chefs in the open kitchen. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. Our vegetarian diner was slightly limited for choice and there was a blip with the main course, however it was handled and recovered very well (we were unaware when booking, however we have now been advised to phone ahead a minimum of 24-hours and special meal arrangements can be made in advance for vegetarian meals). The fish cakes and miso Salmon were very delicious and cooked to perfection. The duck legs had crispy skin, moist meat and a tasty accompanying Orzo pasta. All in all I would thoroughly recommend Pamela’s for a delicious meal with 5* service.

Fabulous Christmas get together with some friends. Hadn't been for a long while but the service and food was just as excellent as we remembered. Couldn't fault anything at all. All of the staff are so friendly as soon as you walk through the door they make you feel so welcome. As remembered the food and drinks both looked and tasted amazing. Will definitely be returning...and not just for Christmas.

Absolutely amazing. This is a wonderful dining experience starting from the downstairs with cocktails and canapés whilst choosing from the menu’s to going upstairs to the dining area. Can’t wait to go again.

Had the best time here. The entire experience is amazing, I'd mentioned it was my mums birthday and they accommodated wonderfully. Some great alcohol free options too as I don't drink. The food was amazing and so many extra little touches made it really special.

This is a hidden gem that is tucked away.. this unassuming place surprises you as enter. Your met by stylish waitresses who serve you hor d'oeuvres whilst they take your drinks orders. The restaurant is Modern, glitzy, with contemporary art laced on the walls. But the crème de La crème is the sensational food.- It was exquisite!. The owner was also extremely friendly and told us next time remember there is parking. When you book , you just need to say you need parking and they offer this too. Would highly recommend for the experience-you are spoilt and treated.

The Courtyard Italian Restaurante, formerly known as The Courtyard, has been revamped under new ownership. This cozy restaurant has gained popularity among locals and visitors for its delicious Italian cuisine with a contemporary twist. Using fresh local ingredients, they offer seasonal menu options in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
After almost a week of being on a boat and eating a pub food we have moored up in Great Yarmouth with a hope of finding some good food. The Courtyard Italian was a gem. It's only 15 min walk from the Yarmouth yacht club moorings. The food and service were amazing. The best pasta I've tried. It's Italian with an incentive twist. My seafood lasagna was light and delicious, it's a very cosy place, also we were lucky to get a table it's best to book in advance. Definitely a place to visit if you like your food.

What an amazing hidden gem. Absolutely loved dining here. The food was delicious and the chef will adapt the menu to what you want. The service was super friendly. It’s very small so always book. The bruschetta was the best I have ever had, overflowing with juicy tomatoes. The seafood lasagna was filled to the brim with seafood. And the desserts were dreamy. I can’t wait to visit again.

What can I say? What an AMAZING experience! The atmosphere in this picturesque restaurant is in-matched. The food is to die for, you NEED to get the Swordfish! Every dish can be personalised to your liking, as everything is cooked fresh to order. Not to mention the service, which was also brilliant. A charismatic and friendly team. Overall a lovely experience and will definitely be returning

What a little gem! This felt like a truly authentic, unique and homely dining experience. The restaurant is tiny (do book!) but this adds to the charm. I enjoyed watching the chef prepare all the dishes with love and he interacted with us. The food was delicious and nothing was too much trouble if you wanted something changed. Service was excellent - relaxed, charming and fun. We had a really great evening and can’t wait to come back. Thank you.

Me and my partner had THE most amazing dining experience at The Courtyard! I’ll firstly start with the atmosphere, it’s fantastic! Such a small intimate diner with the most fantastic cook and such a friendly owner! There are 6 tables inside when we was there tonight and each one of us was all chatting away! The wine recommendation we got from the owner really blew our heads off with the beautiful sweet taste (I’ll attach a photo for anybody interested) And lastly the food… wow. One word, Speechless. Out of this world food! I personally recommend the carbonara!!! Overall I now understand why the reviews are so brilliant for this restaurant. One of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had and to top it all off it is so so reasonably priced! I would have paid double for the experience we had tonight. Couldn’t recommend enough , we will definitely be back soon. Thank you very much The Courtyard :)

Booked for my friends birthday, what a beautiful little gem in great Yarmouth. Food brilliant service fantastic, atmosphere lovely. Would highly recommend this restaurant. Will definitely be going again. Prices very reasonable. The chef out of this world. I'm so sorry I can't remember the chef's name. But Kelly was a brilliant hostess. Thank you.

Had to go in without booking first as we were on holiday the girl at the front desk was very accommodating to get our family seated. Once seated they provided a very nice service, the food was excellent all around the table. The only issue we had was parking but there is on street parking to be found

It's been 5yrs since my wife and I moved to Lowestoft and we've eaten in a lot of places. In that time, we've struggled to find a decent burger. But now we have found one. To be honest, we have driven past this place numerous times. Thank god tonight we stopped. Great, quaint restaurant with very polite and friendly staff. Good menu with lots of different options. My wife and I went for the burgers. Homemade and cooked medium, just as it should be. Seasoned perfectly and with a choice of rustic or brioche buns. And an added bonus of proper homemade chips. Had their sourdough bread as a starter, which didn't last long. Warm and crusty. Not a massive place, so I would recommend to book. Decor is Mediterranean meets quirky, but it works. Prices are reasonable and you get good portions. Certainly be back, and will be recommending.

We had my birthday tea at the Quayside Plaza it's one of my favourite places to eat! We love the olives and fresh bread and my sirloin steak was cooked and seasoned really well and buttery soft with delicious peppercorn sauce. The citrus chicken was also so tasty! We both had drinks and dessert too so at £75 it was really good value. Will definitely be back again soon! Service was excellent!

Incredible food, service and atmosphere here. We came in just as the kitchen was closing but they generously allowed us to sit for dinner. I wasn’t expected the food to be as great as it was, the prawn starter was fantastic, and each of the mains we had were brilliant - quality ingredients, great technique and super flavourful. The front of house staff are lovely too. 10/10!

Used this restaurant last year for my friend's birthday really enjoyed food wine, service good. Definitely said we'd go back. Which we did, when I wanted to book for 7pm,was asked if I could do 645,which wasn't a problem. When we arrived wasn't shown to table just told where. There were 4 people on one table and 8 on another, and our table for 2. Table for 8 were so loud . When waitress came to take our order we were told could they have table back by 815pm. We pointed out this wasn't told when making booking. Which was rather annoying as both of us weren't going to rush considering the cost of food and wine. The table of 8 were making so much noise it was awful. When I complained about the noise, it just went over her head. Starter was lovely but main meal beef tuff. Did tell waitress but again completely ignored. For us what was once a little gem, unfortunately is no longer. Definitely won't go back.
