The Alcázar de Segovia is a romantic medieval castle that has been restored after a fire. It features ornately decorated rooms and houses an armoury museum. The fortress, dating back to the 12th century with construction believed to have started in the 11th century, was completed in 1587 during the Renaissance period by Spanish architect Francisco de Mora.
We had a very nice visit to the historical and beautiful Alcazar in Segovia. The museum itself can be seen in an hour and is well worth the cost of the ticket. We wish we had used the audio guide to explain more about the exhibits. The highlight was the climb to the tower with an incredible view to be had. We booked our visit on line and had timed tickets. It was great to skip the queue for tickets and head right in.

Beautiful castle. Be aware the tower steps are steep, uneven and claustrophobic. Views are amazing! We even saw a rainbow in the sky. Lots of armor, architectural beauty, a garden maze and the remains of a drawbridge. Castle is surrounded by park like setting and lots of flower gardens!

My husband and I visited the Alcazar on a Thursday in late March. It was a little chilly, but that was mainly the elevation difference from Madrid. We had booked an 11am audio tour, but our train got in pretty early and we were able to get into the Alcazar early as well, which was great and we nearly had the place to ourselves. There are signs in many languages pointing you toward the Alcazar from Segovia town center, so it's hard to miss and a nice walk. It's a wonderful castle and the audio tour does a great job of enumerating the areas, and the sites you're looking at. From the moat to the armory, great hall, and many outside areas. We got a lot of great history and a lot of the designs reminded me of the Alhambra, of course. An unexpected delight was the gift shop. There I was able to get an English language book on Isabella of Castille, which had I looked for unsuccessfully in multiple Madrid bookshops. We also got a lovely cloth castle ornament. I do wish we had been able to go down the hill to see the ship-like cliffside view of the Alcazar from that lower angle. But our knees hurt from nearly two weeks of walking around Spain.

Such a great place to capture wonderful views back towards the Cathedral and the surrounding valley. The building itself is amazing with loads of period artifacts. The audio guide is well worth the 3.50 euros to listen during and after the visit.
Leigh B — Google review
The Alcázar of Segovia looks like something straight out of a fairytale. Its distinctive ship-like shape perched high on a rocky hill makes it one of the most beautiful castles in Spain. Originally built as a fortress in the 12th century, it later became a royal palace for the Castilian monarchs, a military academy, and even served as inspiration for Walt Disney’s Cinderella Castle. Walking through the Alcázar feels like stepping back in time. The Hall of Kings (Sala de los Reyes) is breathtaking with its detailed ceilings and portraits of Castilian rulers. The Throne Room, the armory, and the chapel each tell a different story from Spain’s royal past. Everything inside is remarkably well preserved. Climbing the Tower of John II is the highlight of the visit. The view over Segovia, the cathedral, and the surrounding plains is absolutely stunning.
Tareq T — Google review
It's best to get tickets early for the fortress and tower. In warmer months, the top of the tower is very warm. Overall it's a wonderful tour. The Artillery Museum is interesting but no English signage. But the audio guide for the palace is worth it. The vistas from the fortress were impressive. There's a cafe down in the old Laboratories building outside the main gate. This is where your buy tickets.

The Summer Palace of Dreams – Segovia This palace is honestly a dream come true for me. I’ve always wanted to see it, and visiting in person was even better than I imagined. Locals told us this is the royal family’s favorite summer palace, and after being there, I completely understand why. ✨ Why it’s unforgettable: • The location is breathtaking — set in a picturesque landscape that feels like something out of a storybook. • The architecture and design are stunning, from the palace itself to the details inside. • The views all around the grounds are incredible, the kind of scenery you can lose yourself in. Walking through this palace truly felt magical. It wasn’t just another tourist stop — it’s the kind of place that leaves a mark on you. 🌟 Final thought: Visiting this palace in Segovia was one of the highlights of my trip. It’s beautiful, inspiring, and unforgettable — a place I’ll always carry in my memory. If you’re anywhere near Segovia, don’t miss it.

Absolutely a must visit when in Segovia. Not only this castle itself is a great creation of its times, with interiors that blew our minds, carefully renovated in 1800s; there used to be a military academy here, a large library of military books and a great collection of equipment. As an added bonus, there are great city views, and ability to go in top of the tower.

Segovia Aqueduct is a towering Roman monument with 167 arches, making it a grand landmark. The old quarter of Segovia and the Aqueduct are part of a World Heritage site, offering visitors a glimpse into the town's rich history. Exploring the city walls reveals other notable attractions such as Casa de los Picos, Alhondiga, Torreon de Lozoya, and the church of San Martin.
This is absolutely worth a spot on a Spain tour itinerary. Seeing the Roman architecture integrated into the daily lives of the local people and tourists was stunning. This was one of our first stops, and I was so glad we made it. Parking with a caravan can be tough, but it is possible if you are willing to walk a little bit. The area itself is quite large and well kept, so foot traffic was minimal and stress free. They have lots of food and shopping options nearby so there is something for everyone. We loved it!! It's definitely a stopping point for any tourist interested in seeing actual history in person. A++

The old city of Segovia was settled by the Romans 2000 years ago. Their major contribution which still exists in its original form is the aqueduct. This is the most amazing piece of engineering and enabled the expansion of the city providing it with fresh water from the mountains. It extends for 17 kilometers and much of it is underground. There is a staircase you can climb to be at the top and it is truly spectacular. The city itself is charming.

Seeing the Aqueduct of Segovia in person is just amazing. Honestly, pictures don't do it justice at all. When you stand there and see the scale of it, and think about how old it is and that it's still standing, it's just incredible. It's so well preserved and right in the middle of everything. We spent ages just walking around it and admiring the construction. It's a true masterpiece of Roman engineering and an absolute must-see. We were completely blown away. 5 stars, easily.
Eric F — Google review
The Aqueduct of Segovia is one of the most impressive ancient structures I have ever seen. Built by the Romans around the first century AD, it stands as a masterpiece of engineering and endurance. The fact that it was constructed without any mortar, using only perfectly cut granite blocks, makes it even more incredible. Standing beneath the aqueduct, you can truly appreciate its scale and precision. It stretches across the city with more than 160 arches and reaches almost 30 meters high at its tallest point. It once carried water from the mountains over 15 kilometers away to supply Segovia, and parts of it continued to function for centuries. It is remarkable how well preserved it remains today, blending seamlessly with the modern city around it. The surrounding plaza is lively, filled with cafes and shops, and offers perfect views for photos both day and night.

UNBELIEVABLE!...This place is absolutely great. I am from New York and I did not even know about thia place, but if you are a fan of history, this place is perfect. To think, this place was build in 1 A.D. and you see the scope of the size, and the sheer size of it is overwhelming and it is still standing today. Great craftsmanship and architectural work...recommend 100000%

Aqueduct of Segovia completely blew me away. Seeing it in person is one of those moments where photos just don’t do it justice—the size, the symmetry, and the fact that it was built without a single drop of mortar makes it truly awe-inspiring. Walking underneath the arches and along the nearby streets gives you a real sense of history. It’s amazing to stand next to something so ancient yet so perfectly preserved. The surrounding area is charming too, with cafés, shops, and beautiful views that make the whole visit even more enjoyable. Overall, the Aqueduct of Segovia is an absolute must-see in Spain. It’s impressive, iconic, and one of those places that makes you stop and appreciate the engineering brilliance of the past.
Dee G — Google review
Absolutely spectacular must-see Roman aqueduct. Photos cannot do it justice. Reasonably easy to get to. There is a high speed Renfe train station a few miles out of town and a regular bus service that runs directly to the aqueduct from the station. Segovia itself has plenty of other sites to visit and I spent all day here.
Dave P — Google review
The Aqueduct of Segovia is absolutely breathtaking and a true marvel of ancient engineering. Standing in front of this perfectly preserved Roman structure, you can’t help but be amazed by its scale, precision, and timeless beauty. Walking along the nearby streets, the aqueduct dominates the cityscape and gives you a real sense of history and Roman ingenuity. It’s incredible to think that it has stood for nearly two thousand years, still intact and awe-inspiring. The surrounding area is charming, full of cafés and shops, making it perfect to combine sightseeing with a leisurely stroll. Visiting the Segovia Aqueduct is a must for anyone traveling to Spain — it’s a symbol of the city and an unforgettable experience.”

Casa De Los Picos is a 15th-century building in Segovia, known for its facade adorned with 617 granite points and a Renaissance courtyard. The city's Jewish Quarter, once home to a thriving Hebrew community until their expulsion in the 15th century, offers picturesque narrow streets and historic buildings.
Nice looking walls, great architecture from the 15th century.
Sujay S — Google review
It was built as a fortress in the late 15th century by Don Pedro López de Ayala. It is called the House with Peak wall because of its granite exterior wall decorated with 617 pyramid shapes. The Renaissance Terrace is also famous. It is currently the headquarters of the Segovia School of Art and Design.
Seokjin H — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Casa de los Picos – Segovia One of the most unique buildings I’ve seen in Spain — and one that immediately caught my eye as an architect and developer. The Casa de los Picos, built in the 15th century, is famous for its striking granite façade, where each stone block is carved into a pyramid-shaped point (“picos”). It was originally the palace of the De la Hoz family, one of Segovia’s most important noble families. Legend has it that the spiked façade was designed not just for beauty but also as a symbol of strength and prestige — a way to stand out among the city’s wealthy households. Over time, the building became a landmark of Segovia and is now carefully preserved as part of the city’s architectural heritage. Today it houses the Segovia School of Arts and often features exhibitions, ensuring it remains alive and part of the community. What I love most is the creativity of the façade — taking a simple material like granite and turning it into something bold, textured, and unforgettable. It’s inspiring to see how historical architects played with light, depth, and geometry centuries ago, and it gives me new ideas for my own projects. Definitely worth a stop when exploring Segovia — not just for the history, but for the inspiration it leaves behind.

Restaurante José María is a long-standing venue in Segovia known for its robust and traditional Segovian cuisine. The lunch service is quite a spectacle, with whole suckling pigs being served at the table by the owner himself. For a lighter meal, visitors can stop at the bar for a glass of wine from the restaurant's own exceptional wineries and enjoy some raciones.
We made a reservation the day before visiting, and went on a Monday night. Jose Maria's is a beautiful and good sized venue. Great atmosphere. The waiter's detected my struggles with speaking Spanish and gave us English menus and conversed with us without issue. Staff were very friendly. We ordered a soup dish (1 portion) and said we would share it. They kindly split it into two bowls. The main dish was the suckling pig. The waiter brought it out and theatrically carved it jnto six portions using a dinner plate to carve it. The dish tasted amazing. Suckling pig is a specialty in this region of Spain, and Jose Maria's serve and amazing dish. I'd go back and highly recommend it to other visitors.
Warren B — Google review
Excellent food and service, recommended by so many locals and friends. The suckling pig was fantastic and the little show that precedes it with the cutting up of the meal was entertaining. Service was really exceptional and the food was very, very good. Your wait for the suckling pig may take longer than you expect as they roast one pig for a few tables in case you ordered less than a whole pig. Each portion per person costs about €32, so a whole pig costs €128. Its a bit of a walk from the town center but we'll worth the visit. Book in advance.

Very traditional place to come and try the famous "cochinillo" dish in Spain. The place is very well decorated with a combination of modern and traditional traits. The service was very tentative and the food itself was very tasty. We had to try the cochinillo and it did not disappoint. We did not have a reservation but a table was made available for us within about 15min. We got a drink at the bar while waiting. The overall experience is worth it with friendly staff and good food and great atmosphere. Price wise, its more expensive than other places but given the quality of what is being served, it is worth it. Highly recommended.

Outstanding meal at Restaurante José María in Segovia! We had dined at Sobrino de Botín in Madrid and there is no denying that this restaurant is far superior in quality of food, wine and experience. The service is impeccable and personal. The house wine is delicious as is the suckling pig and all other foods we ordered. The dining room is spacious and seating relaxed and not cramped. Watching the suckling pig being cut and served using plates, not knives was incredible to witness. The meat was so tender! We purchased extra bottles of wine to bring back to Madrid, it was so good. Our servers were kind and patient with our inability to speak much Spanish. Thank you. Highly recommend reserving a table.

After taking some photographs at the aqueduct then walking towards the cathedral, we stumbled upon this restaurant which was very convenient when you’re tired and hungry from all the walk. The interior had good heating so be ready to remove that extra layer of sweater or coat you wore! The staff were friendly. They had a wooden high chair for babies and toddlers. The star of the show was the Cochinillo. The skin was crispy while the meat was tender. You need to dip it to juices when it was cooked to add some saltiness. There were no pungent taste so that piglet must had a good life! All in all a great experience as I’ve heard that Segovia was the home of the original cochinillo. PS. If you have babies, they’ll gift them a little souvenir which is the icing on the cake
Robert U — Google review
One of the best restaurants in Segovia for sure! Everything we had was amazing, particularly the cochinillo asado and the ponche segoviano. The service is super friendly, the owner of the restaurant Rocío actually comes around the tables to check that you've enjoyed your meal, very nice. I will definitely recommend to friends!

The place is very nice, service is good. The famous piglet very non special. Tasted better, in lower price Also rest of the food is always almost..

Phoned to reserve on the day, as online only for future reservations...very pleasant on phone and very welcoming on arrival. Really tasty, moist pork (suckling pig) for main course. Sommelier gave me good advice, and I opted for a local 2022 white which was superb. No real criticism, but I feel waiters (in most restaurants) feel awkward with a single diner, and as they weren't very attentive, I poured my own wine. Lovely authentic decor and good quality food. Would definitely recommend ..very handy to the plaza mayor and cathedral. Price reflective of the chosen wine, not the food which was reasonable .

Mesón de Cándido is a legendary restaurant located in a rustic 1800s half-timbered house beneath a Roman aqueduct in Segovia. It is renowned for its roasted suckling pig, which is the most famous local dish. The city also offers traditional museums such as the Antonio Machado House-Museum and surprising new spaces like La Carcel, a former prison turned into an exhibition and cultural center.
Service at this restaurant is extraordinary, with delicious “cochinillo” and great environment and location at Segovia. Promptly welcomed for our 1pm reservation, and fortunate to be seated at a central location upstairs, were served by an ever courteous waiter that was attentive and anticipative to our needs. Following the Cochinillo ceremony by Don Candido, descendant of the founder, we enjoyed the succulent cochinillo and other dishes, and house wine. Reasonable prices. This is a very famous restaurant and destination, but happy to report this is by no means a tourist trap !
Jose R — Google review
Meson de Candido in Segovia offers a traditional Castilian dining experience with mixed results across their classic menu offerings. The decent chicken caesar salad provided a familiar, reliable start to the meal without any particular distinction from standard preparations. The interesting mushroom dish, Setas de Segovia, showcased local ingredients but proved a little too earthy for my taste. While clearly fresh and regionally authentic, the intense earthiness may appeal more to mushroom enthusiasts than casual diners seeking milder flavors. The seabass was very good, demonstrating the kitchen's capability with seafood preparation through proper cooking technique and seasoning that highlighted the fish's natural qualities without overwhelming them. The cochinillo (roast suckling pig) - the restaurant's signature dish - was good but could use more herbs and seasoning to elevate it beyond basic preparation. While the meat was tender and properly cooked, it lacked the bold flavors that would make this traditional Segovian specialty truly memorable. The dining experience was significantly enhanced by the stunning location - we loved the view of the Roman aqueduct, which creates an unparalleled backdrop that adds historical grandeur to the meal. This magnificent setting transforms an ordinary dinner into something special, making the restaurant as much about the experience as the food. Meson de Candido succeeds in providing traditional Castilian cuisine in an extraordinary setting, where the breathtaking views of the ancient aqueduct create lasting memories that complement the regional food offerings. Unfortunately, the staff were quite rude and unenthusiastic, rushing us to eat and leave.

We had such a great experience there! We were there 1pm on Tuesday, it was already very busy. We didn’t book a table but we were lucky enough to have a table! Because when we went in a few minutes after it opened, the restaurant was packed! We ordered 1 portion of a suckling pig, and a potato truffle omelet. Both of them were amazing! The owner of the restaurant himself did a small breaking the plate show to us and also to every room that day! It was amazing! Definitely recommend! (And the view from the restaurant is the Segovia Aqueduct itself! Truly beautiful). And the staffs are very nice.
Kawisara T — Google review
While in Segovia, I dined at Mesón de Cándido, the city’s legendary spot for roast suckling pig. With such a reputation, expectations were understandably high – but the experience, unfortunately, didn’t quite live up to the hype. We had a dinner reservation, and although the place wasn’t fully booked, the staff’s service felt rather indifferent – not rude, but lacking warmth. It gave off the impression of a restaurant resting on its fame rather than striving to impress. We ordered a salad, pig’s ears with beans, the famous roast suckling pig, and roasted lamb. The pig is undoubtedly the headline item here, but to be honest, it felt overrated. The skin – usually prized for its crispiness – was soft and slightly rubbery, likely due to excess moisture. With better treatment of the skin, the dish could have lived up to its reputation. Surprisingly, the roasted lamb outshone the pig – crisp skin, tender meat, and full of flavor. Overall, while Mesón de Cándido holds undeniable historical significance and name recognition in Segovia, I wouldn’t say it’s a must-visit purely for the food. Unless you’re particularly drawn to the tradition and history of the place, there are probably better culinary options in town.

Of course it was a must when visiting Segovia. We had a reservation and we didn't have to wait to be shown to our table. The interior is very cozy and the views beautiful. We had the segovian mushroom and grilled Eggplants with ham as starters, duck and the suckling pig as entre and as dessert the sogovian ponche cake. All very tasty, especially the two starters stole the show. The staff were really friendly and tried to help us considering our very limited Spanish.
Shirin S — Google review
Love the history, not only of the history of the building, but the legacy of the 4 generations of the family ownership. The food was good, the presentations are great...service...not so much. But I would recommend them overall. Enjoy the Succulent Pig...it is great!

Probably the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. The food portion was minuscule. In the pictures it looks like the portions are big, but once you cut into it, most of what’s on the plate is just bone. We had to scrape off what little meat there was just to get a few bites. Definitely overpriced, too. And the service? Even WORSE than the food. Absolutely terrible. The staff is either nowhere to be found or acts like they don’t even want to be there. Would not recommend at all. Run far far away amigos

I made a reservation well in advance for 3:30 PM. I’m a big foodie. I dine out all the time, travel often for food, and I’ve NEVER been treated this poorly anywhere. Before our reservation, my partner stopped by around 2:00 PM to ask if we could sit outside. The doorman looked at our reservation and said yes, no problem. We assumed he made a note of it since he had a clipboard with all the bookings. When we came back for our reservation, the restaurant was very busy — understandably, since it was peak lunch hour. We checked in with the same doorman, reminded him that he said we could sit outside, and he told us to wait. We stepped aside like he asked, and then he started seating everyone behind us while we just stood there, completely ignored. When we tried to follow up, he waved us off and told us to “go talk to the waiters outside,” which made no sense since usually the host or doorman handles seating. Still, we followed directions and went outside, only to get dismissed by THREE different servers before we could even explain what was going on. None of them let us finish a sentence. They just told us to “get in line.” We were frustrated, confused, and now late for our reservation. We even had to pull out Google Translate to type up what was happening, and only then did someone finally listen. The man slicing ham called over an English-speaking waiter, and thank goodness for him — he was the only person in the entire restaurant who showed any kindness or professionalism. He tried to help by talking to the doorman for us, but even he was brushed off. The doorman told him to tell us to get back in line, so we had to literally go stand in line again for our own reservation. Eventually, the doorman finally sat us, after making us wait again for no reason. Once seated, we realized our assigned waiter was one of the same servers who had rudely dismissed us earlier (let’s call him Drake dupe - an uglier version of Drake) and who had one of the nastiest attitudes I’ve ever seen in hospitality. He looked annoyed from the moment he approached our table and barely spoke to us, taking our order like we were bothering him. We ordered two plates of the suckling pig, fried potatoes, mushrooms, a salad, a bottle of water, and a glass of sangria. While waiting, another server dropped off water glasses, and a piece of glass broke off and hit my partner in the chest. No apology, no concern, nothing. Since everyone was rushing past us and ignoring us, there was no one we could even tell right away. As we waited, I noticed every other table around us received their full orders all at once, not one dish at a time. So when only one of our suckling pig plates arrived, I politely asked Drake dupe just to confirm that our second plate and sides were still coming. Instead of simply answering, he rolled his eyes and said “yes” in the most dismissive, sassy tone, like I was bothering him just for asking. When the rest of our food finally came, I honestly couldn’t even enjoy it anymore. The suckling pig was good — no denying that — the mushrooms were just okay, but when you’ve been treated like garbage for over an hour, it’s hard to taste anything but frustration. After we finished eating, it took ages to get the check. The same kind English-speaking waiter stopped by again to check on us (the only person who cared), and I told him about the glass incident. He apologized and said he’d let our waiter know, but no manager or supervisor ever came to talk to us. Eventually, some random guy handed us a coffee mug with the restaurant’s logo. I guess that was their way of “making up” for everything. We still had to ask again for the bill, and when it came, we were charged full price ($110) with zero acknowledgment of the poor service or the broken glass. I should have listened to the other bad reviews on here. There are so many complaints about rude service here, and management always replies with the same copy-paste “we’ll work on it” response. Clearly, nothing has changed and probably never will.

Asador Maribel is a charming restaurant that beautifully marries tradition with innovation, nestled in the heart of Segovia. Known for its exquisite wood-fired oven, this venue specializes in succulent roasted meats, particularly the renowned Segovian suckling pig and lamb from Sacramenia. Guests can enjoy a diverse menu that features both classic dishes and modern interpretations, all crafted from high-quality ingredients like fresh vegetables and local red meat.
Best Lamb I have ever had! Full of flavor, rich, tender, great! The dinner made my day. Olive oil they served was also great. I enjoy their olives as well, original, simple, but delicious. Sangria was a bit sweet to me but went well with lamb. The dessert was also good. Overall a great place for amazing food. The staff was kind and gave me a souvenir before I left. Definitely a great experience and I love Segovia because of this place.

GLUTEN FREE PARADISE! This place is incredible and it certainly deserves the good reputation it has. Very conveniently located. Excellent service, fast and informed about allergens. Many naturally gluten free options, they also served me a good gluten free bread and gf beer. I would definitely recommend this place to celiacs, gluten intolerant people and anyone who'd love to try authentic Segovian food.

The restaurant Asador Contemporaneo David Guijarro is a high-end establishment with delicious food that can be enjoyed in a relaxed and comfortable setting. The cuisine is inspired by regional dishes with a twist, which makes it unique. There's also a terrace where you can enjoy the view. Reservations are recommended if you want to dine here, but there's always space available on the weekends.
We didn‘t have any reservation and still managed to find us a table. The place was full of locals, which is always a good sign. The food was delicious and well priced. 34.90€ pp for a 3-course menu, a bottle of wine and water included. I will come back for sure! Best experience in Segovia

Very authentic and enjoyable experience in Segovia. Slightly off the beaten track and full of local specialities. The suckling pig was delicious! The wine was overly chilled but soon warmed up. The services was rustic …. And really in Spanish only. Thank goodness for google translate! Really enjoyed it

The service at this restaurant isn’t exactly flawless. The waiters looked tired, their uniforms were old and stained, and it took about 15 minutes just to get the menu. However, all my frustration disappeared the moment they brought out the roast suckling pig. The meat was incredibly tender, and the skin was perfectly crispy — absolutely delicious. It cost €27, and while I’m not sure if that’s expensive or not, I was completely satisfied. Honestly, going to Segovia and not trying the suckling pig is like visiting and skipping the aqueduct — it’s a must.

The food was amazing! Everything was delicious and full of flavor. The waiter was very friendly and gave great suggestions. They got us in even though we didn't have a reservation. Highly recommend!

We arived at weekend and ordered daily menu with 3 courses for 29,90 per person. The food ws mediocore at best and cakes were discusting. The portions were really small and we were still hungry, when we left this restaurant. But the worst part was the service. We were have to remind to the waiter several times to bring us multiple dishes. Also restrooms, they run out od toilet paper.

We ordered the lunch course menu consisting of a soup/stew, bread, a glass of wine per person, conchinillo and dessert (Segovian cakes). The soup/ stew was delicious and the conchinillo was excellently cooked. The skin was perfectly crispy while the meat was tender and juicy. We recommend seating outside for a beautiful ambiance while eating. The only downside is that the staff were a bit gruff and seemed unfriendly. But overall this restaurant is really good and is must visit when in Segovia.

We are very lucky to find this restaurant. Although it is located very close to the mainstream, a bit hidden coz you need to go downstairs a bit. The waiters are very friendly and efficient. Only menu course available, we choose the starters-traditional soup and egg nest in cream with black truffle, very yummy! Main dish, no doubt went with Cochinillo asado, roasted skin was amazingly crispy! Plus desserts, really wonderful lunch with adorable price, highly recommend 5 stars!

My favorite restaurant in Segovia 💖 I highly recommend the Menu option and ordering the famous cochinillo 🐷 dish and for dessert, the Ponche Segoviano or Candle Dessert 🍨! The workers are very attentive and kind. We were served by Angel and his colleague who were so great.

El Bernardino is a traditional Spanish restaurant that has been in operation for over 70 years. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes, including garlic soup and crispy sucking pig. The restaurant also has a Michelin star rating.
What a wonderful meal!! We ordered the suckling pig to share, plus a salad. Mistake!!! Don’t even THINK of sharing this meal with anyone else, it’s just too good. We quickly ordered a second one. The bread, olive oil and especially the balsamic vinegar was absolutely out of this world. I’ve tried to find it online and can’t, unfortunately. The service was excellent. We sat outside and enjoyed the view. Since we needed to get back to our bus back to Madrid, we informed the wait staff and they were very timely. Make this restaurant a priority on your trip to Segovia. You’ll be happy you did.

Excellent value for the tourist menu. Roast pig was very nice and delicious. Sad was that it cooled down quickly for sitting outside. Service was prompt and nice. Beautiful view and vibes to sit outdoor during sunset time.

It was two of was We spent 44 euros per person for one dish and one desert (shared) 1/4 of lamb plus the Segovia’s traditional desert with one salad (ensalada) without drinks was about 88 euros. The lamb was good some may find it smelly. I could only eat it with salad. But my friend loved it. I recommend the dessert.

It took a while to get seated. It seemed like they were closing. There weren’t a lot of people in the restaurant. It was dinner time (American time it was 18:00). I had a list of must try Spanish foods and drinks and roasted suckling pig was on the list. I like pork. Especially ribs and pork chops. However, I was not impressed by the roasted suckling pig. It reminded me of chitlins. But the wine was good. The potatoes were tasty. The service was typical for Spain. I would go back, but pick another dish.

The service is FAST!! If you’re in a hurry, this place is highly recommended. The ordered food hit the table in approximately 10 minutes after ordering. And it arrived hot, freshly prepared. The cheese and jam appetizer was the highlight for me — that was quite enjoyable. I don’t know what to expect with the monkfish meatballs, but they were surprisingly good — loved the sauce. The salad was a salad. The food coming out quick is the highlight of the customer service experience. The server was in quite a rush bouncing from table to table trying to move people out quickly — he wasn’t the friendliest. If you’re pressed for time, this is the place to try.

We had lunch here about a week ago. Service and food was very good. Waiter made good recommendations, portions are huge as prices are as well not small but you get good quality and huge size portions. Croquetas were amazing, chorizo and the pig were also very good.

An impressive and delicious dishes, combined with beautifull presentation and friendly staff. Luckily we arrived early to avoid the long queue.

This was recommended by our tour guide and we loved it! Liked that they have a full course meal with a drink. Everything was yummy and the Segovian Pig? Wow! Delicious!
