Aquarium
Nestled in a picturesque part of Denmark, JyllandsAkvariet is a delightful aquarium that caters especially to families and young children. This charming venue showcases the fascinating marine life of the North Sea, featuring interactive touch pools where visitors can get up close with sharks, rays, and flounders. The atmosphere is reminiscent of being aboard a boat, as the aquarium creatively utilizes old wooden pieces and tools to enhance its nautical theme.
Such a cool place! We lived in Thyboron for 3 months and our kids visited the Aquarium on a year pass all the time, especially on fish feeding days. They enjoyed it very much and in my opinion, it’s a very well set up place. You get to pet sharks and rays, it’s all about local wildlife and curiosities and it’s well designed. Really enjoyed it!
Lilian C — Google review
Nice but a bit small aquarium. Not cheap, but if You keep wearing the entrance bracelet you are allowed to enter the aquarium for 7 days. Lots of things to do for the kids
Melvin B — Google review
Small but really well-designed aquarium. You can stay here for longer. Lots to see and a plus was definitely the opportunity to touch sharks and hold crabs. There are many different activities for children. Adults also enjoy many of the activities. Spacious parking lot outside where you can park your camper van easily.
Sami S — Google review
Medium sized aquarium with many fish to pet and some amber to find. Look out for the feeding days. It will be busy on those days, but it's worth it. As long as you wear your vistor bracelet, you get free admission to the aquarium so you can easily come back for some fish petting after the rush. We took one of their seal tours with our toddler and it was probably one of the highlights of our trip. The guide was great, super accommodating and spoke perfect English and German. We got a real close look at the seals! Making a reservation in advance is recommended, we didn't and had to come back the next day. This wasn't a bother as the aquarium was truly lovely and is worth your time.

Really nice experience for kids, lot of place to pet sharks and rays
Céline G — Google review
Very fun Aquarium that let's you pet some of the Animals and has plenty of Stuff on the side for Children and informative signs everywhere to learn about the Animals and other things like the history of Eel fishing.
Lukas W — Google review
The staff was nice and inside and outside the exhibits were really good. What I'm concerned about is the animals. If the aquariums are big enough and if for the sake of the animals they are fine to pet
Annika H — Google review
Although this aquarium is relatively small, it does have a wide variety of tanks featuring many different species of fish. However, my review is based solely on the issue of animal welfare, not the ticket price or facilities. Unfortunately, the tanks are far too small for some of the larger animals housed there. Even more concerning are the numerous open tanks where visitors — especially children — are allowed to touch the animals. I witnessed several children reaching uncontrollably for the fish, which creates a stressful and unsafe environment for the animals. In one instance, a family was trying to feed flatfish in one of the tanks. Only after some time did a staff member intervene and explain that only the rays should be fed, not the flatfish. There were no visible signs providing this information, and as soon as the family moved on, another group tried to feed the flatfish again. I truly believe in letting children experience nature up close, but at Jyllands Akvariet, the wellbeing of the animals is clearly not a priority. Please consider not supporting this place.

Bovbjerg Lighthouse is a charming 19th-century beacon that offers stunning coastal views from its tower, making it a must-visit spot in North Jutland. For a small fee, you can ascend to the top and soak in panoramic vistas of the North Sea and surrounding cliffs. The lighthouse area features a delightful café where visitors can indulge in ice cream, cake, or coffee while enjoying the scenery.
A lovely historical lighthouse with plenty of free parking the access road is speed restricted and gravel. There is a coastal walkway here and at the lighthouse house itself there is a self service cafe which offers very tasty food and non alcoholic drinks. Toilets are on site as is a exhibition area and of course if you’re fit and feel up to it visit the lighthouse‘s viewing platform for some amazing views!

The place is magical, with a sunny day it looks like a Ghibli's movie scenario. We've been there 2 times already. ❤❤❤❤❤

Really love that place. 25dk if you want to go up. You can pay cash or mobile pay. Its worth it. Enjoyed cafe as well. Stair walk down the beach. You can also climb up with rope. I enjoyed that.

On of the best spots in Europe for beach soaring with parakites and mini wings. Just love it!

Cool place to visit! You can climb the lighthouse for a small fee and get an amazing view of the North Sea and surroundings. It holds an art exhibition, free toilets and a very nice cafe.

War museum
Museums
The Sea War Museum Jutland is a captivating destination for history enthusiasts, particularly those interested in World War I. This museum offers an in-depth exploration of the pivotal 1916 Battle of Jutland, alongside intriguing anecdotes that shed light on lesser-known aspects of the war. For instance, it highlights how a German female aviation acrobat pioneered the parachute but faced significant resistance from military authorities who were reluctant to embrace this life-saving innovation.
What an existing experience! It is an amazing collection supported by a well structured audio guide. Together with the displayed information you get a interesting deep dive in to the history of the battle of Jutland (Skagerrakschlacht) Absolute outstanding piece of the exhibition is the Periskop of U20 (for those of you....you know the U20) which you can actually use and look through and see the area around the museum.... Many thanks to the team of the museum!
Qwen T — Google review
It’s a well designed place and has plenty of material, but is quite niche. It’s truly interesting if you’re into wars and military, but a bit less so as a general curiosity visitor. Some items did not have detailed explanations and I was quite curious to know what they are, but realising the older gentlemen at the entrance did not speak much english, i didn’t want to be a bother.
Lilian C — Google review
There’s a nice audio tour available for free. If you have some I recommend bringing plug audio jack headphones. Museum has a very specific focus, not apparent from its name. It could also be called “Battle of Jutland” museum, but there’s other sea warfare included.
Annet O — Google review
VERY INTERESTING PLACE! There is so much to see, and so, so informative (with different language-options)! 🌟🌟🌟
Marina — Google review
Really interesting content. They cover many aspects of WWI sea warfare, with a main focus on the 1916 battle of Jutland. Languages are in English, German, and Danish. Audiotour is free, you pay at the automatic machine in the doorway. I particularly enjoyed the adjacent memorial to the sailors who perished at Jutland. The memorial is free. Washrooms are outside in a nearby pavillon.
Joel B — Google review
Fantastic place to visit and feel the history of this part of the world. There are so many sailors and their battle ships lying in the deep waters off the coast here. The senselessness of war is brought home again to the visitors. The submarine that sank the Lusitania is also partially displayed here or learn of the fate of the HMS Queen Mary battle cruiser. Most importantly this museum tells a story of the men and their ships in an enthralling manner. Very friendly staff and a well stocked souvenir shop.. with plenty to see in the area and restaurants to visit.
Dave P — Google review
Interesting museum! Worth visiting if you are in the area. The exhibits are well presented. Great to see there is English translation as well as an audio guide. A beautiful memorial in the dunes.

This is such an odd place, but so endearing at the same time. The detailing is amazing and the collection they’ve gathered is seriously impressive. And even the little film that’s running is very informative. It feels very homely, both in its presentation as well as because of the cafe corner and the mini shop at the entrance. Well worth the visit.
Lilian C — Google review
It's a very cosy looking house, in what can be best described as a small village. Beautiful details on the outside, and a type of museum on the inside. Very friendly staff are there to help you. They have a small shop, and you can get food, drinks and ice cream. All in all a nice, unexpected little wonder in Denmark. (P.s. there is a small parking right next to the house, but a larger one about 200 meters further in the street.)
Mark H — Google review
If you love shells or crafting or just collecting, this is a must see attraction. This decades long labor of love is quite impressive. The minimal admission fee is well worth it.
Shannon W — Google review
🐚Besides the seashells covering the exterior and the internal museum collection, you can also admire artefacts of maritime history. ☕The café and the boutique are equally awesome.
Maria K — Google review
Can only advise people to stay away from this place! Just go to the ocean next door but do not support this place. Why? We were a family of 5... 2 seniors, a mum, dad and 6 year old child and we were simply standing outside when an old angry man came out from the "Sneglehuset" and rushed at us. He then aggressively told us he would slap us around if we touched the sea shells embedded in the wall...! He yelled something about someone had stolen his glass baubles earlier... We had done nothing and had just arrived 10 seconds prior. We simply stood there admiring the shells and listening to one to see if we could hear the sea. There were no reason for him to act so insanely. If someone who knows him reads this - please tell him he scared the a small innocent girl and he came across as the most inappropriate and awful person ever.

Memorial park
Sights & Landmarks
Memorial Park for the Battle of Jutland, also known as Mindeparken for Jyllandsslaget, stands as a poignant tribute to the sailors who lost their lives during the Skagerrak Battle in World War I. This significant event unfolded over two days, from May 31 to June 1, 1916, involving an impressive fleet of 240 warships and resulting in nearly 9,000 casualties among German and British naval forces.
Moving monument to the fallen sailors ofnthe battle of Jutland. 8,645 lives lost, each ship is represented. Directly nesidenthe Sea War Museum. Parking is free and there are nearby Cafés and WC.
Joel B — Google review
This is one of the most important things for any country to remember its history. An important monument to a terrible battle.

beautiful place!!! don't forget to put on your jacket 🥶🌊
Laser C — Google review
Artfully and respectfully built park in memory of the thousands of mariners lost in the battle of Jutland in 1916. Somber and powerful in its simplicity, a large piece of rough granite to represent each ship that was lost, marked with the name and number of crew lost. Each surrounded by faceless figures to visualise the losses.

Definitely worth a visit! :)

Restaurant Luna is a delightful gem that you simply cannot miss when visiting Lemvig, Denmark. Whether you're stopping by for lunch or dinner, this eatery offers an impressive selection of seafood and dishes inspired by various European cuisines. The quality of the food is exceptional, with meticulous attention to detail in every plate served. This place is a must-go either for lunch or dinner. Finest sea food (well, a little expensive) but of excellent quality. Friendly stuff and a great view across the harbor. Sitting indoors or outside on the terrace, the weather may decide.

Restaurant
Fiskehallen is a delightful eatery situated in the harbor area, offering delectable cuisine. The staff is exceptionally friendly, and the captivating view of the bustling harbor adds to the enjoyable atmosphere. The food is served promptly, even during peak hours, ensuring minimal wait time. Notably, their menu caters to diverse preferences by providing options beyond fish dishes such as burgers. The fare is of high quality and reasonably priced. The Sole dish stands out for its freshness and generous portion size.
This was the only place around that offered a proper vegetarian option (even vegan, according to the menu), which was a big plus. The fries were crispy, well cooked, and very tasty, and the portions were generous. The restaurant does get quite busy, so the food took a little while to arrive, but that’s understandable given its popularity.

A decent fish and chips, but not cheap. Nice place to eat and relax. Friendly staff who will assume you are German 😆.
Jonathan F — Google review
We ordered Rødtungefillet and another fish and chips item, was good. If you are a seafood enthusiast it can be a great place for you. But for south asian people maybe the taste will be odd. Otherwise the food was really okay, and it can be a must visit place. You can get drinks along with the food if you want, also this opens at lunchtime and you may not know when they close, if you have a genuine craving or you are a big group of people please make a reservation in advance, it may help them also while they will be closing.

Takeout Restaurant
Nestled in the charming town of Lemvig, Restaurant Isværket is a culinary treasure that promises an unforgettable dining experience. A recent visit revealed beautifully presented dishes bursting with flavor, complemented by a thoughtfully curated wine selection. The breathtaking views of boats gliding across the water and picturesque hillside homes create a stunning backdrop for your meal. The friendly staff are not only welcoming but also knowledgeable about their menu offerings, ensuring you feel right at home—even on the terrace where dogs are welcome!
The food is super tasty - I do recommend mussles 👍 The view is breathtaking - you can see the boats arriving, the houses on the hills, the sea and sky 😍 The staff is very friendly and open. And the place is dog friendly - welcome to teracce. Everything was just perfect!

As always a pleasure visiting Isværket in Lemvig, the staff is very knowledgeable about the ingredients, wine and the food in general. And the quality of the food matches the price. The best place for a good dinner in Lemvig, in my opinion ❤️
Kasper H — Google review
Discovering this gem through a Google search led us to an outstanding dinner experience. Every dish was impeccably presented and bursting with delicious flavors. The well-curated wine selection added to the enjoyment. While the desserts were good, they didn't quite match our personal taste preferences. Nevertheless, the overall service and experience were truly exceptional. Highly recommend this place for an unforgettable dining experience!

The smallest fisk fillet I ever had, good quality but very small for the price. And this is a complete shame for a restaurant by the sea.

Restaurant
Restaurant La Mar is a hidden gem for seafood lovers, offering an impressive array of fresh fish dishes that truly stand out. Each serving is generous and showcases the chef's commitment to quality ingredients and traditional preparation methods, all while maintaining an appealing presentation. The friendly staff enhances the dining experience with their attentive service. While the location may not boast stunning views, the focus here is undoubtedly on delivering delicious food that rivals even Michelin-starred establishments.
The fish was fresh and delicious and prepared in mostly traditional ways, with little fancy fanfare, but not lacking in presentation or looks at all. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Reggy L — Google review
We arrived at the restaurant at 6 pm and it was empty. We asked for two people but wanted to sit outside because we had the dog and the chef did not accept us!!! Too bad they wrote in the information that dogs are allowed outside. Rude and unfair.
Greta R — Google review
Food was absolutely delicious!! Only reason it's not 5/5 is because the place lacks a bit of atmosphere.

Delicious fish food, with so much fish in each serving that it puts every other fish restaurant I've been to in any larger town to absolute shame. The fish was fresh and delicious and prepared in mostly traditional ways, with little fancy fanfare, but not lacking in presentation or looks at all. The staff was friendly and helpful. Located near the ocean but there is no view or otherwise anything particularly good about location. There is a small parking lot, but it is not far to walk for any nearby lots.

Nestled in the charming center of Lemvig, this eatery boasts a cozy, old-school pub atmosphere where guests can enjoy a variety of delicious dishes. Super good experience, nice staff, good service and great food, can highly recommend. If you're vegetarian do yourself a favor and have the veggie version of that burger, it's awesome. Some of the best French fries I've had, only one thing missing imho is the salmon on the stjerneskud, but I guess that's how it's done at this place.

Cosy old school pub vibe inside. Food was decent, pub/cafe-ish food at fair prices. Service was good. Solid cosy place.
Morten O — Google review
The website says it is open, we drove her, but unfortunately it is very closed.
Andrea — Google review
At Columbus, irony is on the menu! The 'Dry Age' burger brings bread as dry as a desert, fries fried more than Chio Chips, and a wait longer than a sitcom episode. And let's not forget the flood of fatty mayo inside—the chef's iconic signature 👌🏼 Cleaning the plate out of hunger isn't a compliment—it's a testament to desperation. Bon appétit... or maybe not
