Tre Cime di Lavaredo, a set of three renowned peaks in the Sexten Dolomites, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its hiking routes and World War I fortifications. The area offers stunning natural beauty and tranquility, making it an ideal destination for a peaceful holiday immersed in nature.
Amazing experience. Recommended to those who want to make the hike to arrive early in the morning (summer days) to avoid the heat... Great views... The level of difficulty depends on your goal... I've reached the cave, and for sure, it's *not* a family hike...
David N — Google review
Amazing place truly. Unbelievable mountain views. One of the best hikes. I wanted to do the cave view, but storms were rolling in so returned, but I've heard that the cave view is also amazing although a steep hike to reach the caves.

Beautiful scenery and insane views! One of the greatest hikes in the Dolomites. Some tips; book a parking slot the day before! We took the bus from the main parking (10 euro pr person both ways) and parking for a van was additional 20 euro for the full day. Parking for a van from the starting point is 60 euro, but needs to be booked in advance. The trails are easy and durable for most people, kids and olders. Depending on the route it’s very accessible. We took a round trip wich was around 4 hours but spent the full day there in the sun ☀️

I finally made it! Hiking here was absolutely incredible. I came in early October 2025, and the snow had already started, which made the trek quite challenging in some spots. But the view I saw was truly superb and stunningly beautiful.
Tongz N — Google review
My experience was good. The views were incredible — the road going up was steep, tricky for a Fiat hybrid. The top of the mountain looked at like the end of a stage of the Tour de France.
Matt W — Google review
I’ve heard that the hike is incredible if you have the stamina to go all the way to the end. However, if you only plan to walk a kilometer or two and then turn back, it’s not worth it. Instead, I recommend taking the hike from the restaurant’s lower yard to trail 117. It’s stunning and only about a 30-minute walk to the destination, where you can take photos, and about 25 minutes back.
KOTKALLE O — Google review
A great walk that is so easy you can enjoy it even with smaller children. There are huts with refreshments along the way, so you don't have to carry so much in your backpack 💪 The views are spectacular and the great thing is that the trek is a circuit around Tre Cime, so you don't go the same way 😉 I recommend booking parking in advance. This way you can take your car to the start of the hiking trail 🤞
Michal V — Google review
Absolutely crowded, but absolutely beautiful. I did the 101/105 circuit, some sections are very steep, but nothing was technically challenging. No climbing, no ropes. Paths are wide enough so 2-4 people can walk next to each other. No issues with 2-sided traffic

Nestled at an elevation of 1,754 meters, Lake Misurina is a picturesque alpine lake located in the municipality of Auronzo di Cadore, Belluno. The area offers nearby skiing opportunities during winter and is renowned for its pristine air quality. The name "Misurina" originates from the term "cadorino ciadin," which refers to elevated deep valleys within the region.
Beautiful lake and breathtaking view! Along the sea are nice places to eat your own sandwich or food. It is sad, that in the Cafe were no Vegan or glutenfree food. There are boats to get for half or for one hour. It can be cold, I recomend a jacket. It worth to see it, unforgettable!
Gabriella V — Google review
Comparing to all the other beautiful lakes and nature of the region this one is not as charming and is too close to the road. Although is not ugly I’s rather have gone to somewhere else.
Luiza S — Google review
This the place is beautiful and peaceful. Early morning the birds singing are fascinating. When the top of the mountain there is on the snows looks fantastic. Fresh air there is. Free lives animals like horses and donkeys with small ringer on his necks looks heart warming.
TIMEA O — Google review
It is beautiful if there is no fog/cloudy. Worthwhile taking the chairlift next to the lake where you can see the mountain view.

A magnificent lake and a beautiful scenery, the largest natural lake in the Cadore region, lies at an altitude of 1,754 meters in Misurina, a village in the municipality of Auronzo di Cadore, which is not in the South Tyrol region but rather in the Veneto region ! The lake's shores are very popular, with about ten traditional hotels. This setting was the venue for the four speed skating events of the 1956 Cortina d'Ampezzo Olympic Games; they were, in fact, the last to be held on a natural site. It is also from here that the scenic road leading to the Auronzo refuge begins, the starting point of the Giro delle Tre Cime (Three Peaks Tour), where a toll must be paid. This excursion route allows visitors to admire these three iconic peaks up close ...

Nice view here, maybe just park 30 minutes by the mini supermarket with free 120 minutes parking. Not big parking. No good restaurants here for stay. Two pizza stores are closes between 3-7 pm.

Monte Piana, a 2,324-meter mountain in the Sexten Dolomites, holds the remnants of World War I trenches. It is situated on the border between the Veneto and Trentino Alto Adige regions and was a battleground between Italy and Austria during the war. Today, visitors can explore the historical open-air museum established on the mountain's trails, showcasing artifacts from that era.
Well spend day, combination of natural beauty and horror of trench/winter/mountain warfare of WWI. Site can be reached by paid fair ( jeep ride). Very much recommend, excellent experience.
Mikhail M — Google review
Monte Piana is an absolutely incredible trail that offers not only breathtaking 360° views of the surrounding rocky peaks—including the iconic Tre Cime—but also a unique journey through history. The open-air WWI museum scattered across the plateau adds a powerful, reflective dimension to the hike, making it far more than just a scenic walk. I highly recommend following trail 122 if you’re not an adrenaline junkie—it’s well-marked, manageable, and lets you soak in the stunning landscapes without unnecessary risk. One more tip: take the jeep shuttle up! The road is narrow and shared with shuttle traffic, and hiking the 500-meter ascent offers very little in terms of views or payoff. Save your energy for the top—it’s 100% worth it. A perfect blend of nature, history, and awe-inspiring panoramas!
Ieva M — Google review
I like this place although it is not really about the great moments from the history. The peak could be reached by different ways: there is a jeep shuttle available but the hikers could find a bit more interesting trails from Misurina lake side as well.

We had an amazing hiking day, starting from Piste Misurina all the way up to Monte Piana in the snow and with no clouds. The sky was blue as it could be. Very rare to see the sky as blue as we are seeing it already all 5 days long. The path and the views to the neighbouring Mt. Tops are awersome. Once coming close to the Rifugio Angelo Bosi we had this fantastic view of Tre Cime from a different angle and from closer by. The all hiking path was so peaceful, even with no wind. This was our second winter hike in this area and the memory of this wonderful experience will stay in our hearts for ever.

Agriturismo Al Tabià is a charming restaurant located just a few minutes from the center of the beautiful village of Auronzo Di Cadore. The establishment offers traditional and delicious Italian cuisine at reasonable prices, with an average cost per person ranging from 25 to 30 Euros. The warm wooden interior adds a touch of tradition, while the pet-friendly outdoor space provides a lovely dining option overlooking the lake.
Ridiculously good, and the portions are pretty big as well! Right by the lake, it has an awesome combination of kind staff, fast service, great ingredients and right prices. I loved it! They don't take reservations at lunch, so be prepared to either wait or not eat at all (we went there at noon and were lucky enough to get one of the last tables).

Pizzeria La Pineta is a great place to enjoy a perfectly stuffed large pizza with high-quality ingredients at very affordable prices. Located in San Vito di Cadore, the exterior of the restaurant has a typical mountain structure with outdoor seating for those who want to enjoy the mild climate, while the interior boasts modern decor. Although dogs are not allowed inside, this pizzeria offers a fantastic family atmosphere and delicious wood-fired pizzas.
Super delicious selfmade pizza with thin crust. La Spinta is definitely a recommendation. Especially the dolci was so so good. Mascarpone chocolate and coffee mix

Fantastic Pizza and Desserts Came here one evening with friends for dinner. They were very busy but we managed to get a place for the group. The place was pretty lively and crowded, with many waiting for their takeaway orders. There were also quite a number dining in on this weekday night. The pizzas were brilliant. They were thin crust and were therefore bursting with taste. The salad was also great. These came with various bottles of sauces to go along with the food. However, what really stood out were the desserts. The first was a fluffy chocolate and the other was a vanilla ice cream meringue cake. Both were exquisite. Top marks for the cakes. Service was quick and attentive once we got a place to sit. They were patient to explain about dishes we were not sure about. The atmosphere was lively. Furnishings were good. I would be really happy to come again for the great food at reasonable prices.

The best pizza that we ordered in this region. It's better to reserve the table,as at 18:30 after opening 90% tables were reserved.

Best pizza I’ve ever had in my life. Went back two nights in a row. We were lucky enough to walk in but every night they had to turn away walk ins because they had so many reservations booked. That’s how good it is. You will not regret it!

Great service. Great prices. Very friendly and attentive staff. Probably the best pizza in town. Weekends are busy so make sure to make a reservation. 22€ for 2 pizzas and a 750ml water. October 2025.

The food was good, but nothing special. We were sat and told we only had an hour at the table and had to vacate it afterwards. After the hour passed, nobody was interested in us and we couldn’t pay and free up the table. We had to go and look for someone to bring us the bill, it stressed us out a little.

Pizza restaurant
Pizzeria Monaco is located just outside the center of Auronzo di Cadore and offers a variety of local dishes at competitive prices. The restaurant has a typical mountain decor with outdoor seating. The pizzas, cooked in a wood-fired oven, are generously topped with fresh and genuine ingredients. The staff is known for being quick, attentive, and accommodating to customers' needs.
No frills, no non-sense service and food. Great prices compared to other places in the area. Had the Strudel Pizza (rolled up) and it was interesting. Fries with mayo were TOP for a quick bite while we waited for the main course.
Arckpi — Google review
The pasta was not good, so consider avoiding it. We got the carbonara and the venison ragu. The carbonara was the worst I've ever had. It was drowning in egg yolk with bits of scrambled egg and that was all I could taste. The spices in the ragu were nice but the dish was quite dry as it had no sauce. We also got the Caprese salad and herbed potato apps, which were good. For four of us, with four pastas, two apps, one beer, and tap water for the table, the bill came out to about 92 euros. That included a cover charge of 2 euros each. We wouldn't go back, but we also didn't try the pizza.

Place is very cosy, the service was a bit slow (as they were very busy, but they were attentive) and the food was good.

They have a lot of pizza veriety on menu, n some are under $10 too. And they also do takeout. Pizza was fast, despite theres a lot of ppl dining in. The pizza size is generous too, really filled the box 🫡

We were there in a group of 4 and had pizza - authentic/local types of pizza were available, we were all happy with our choices (types: dobbiaco, trevigiana, Rucola bresaola grana). Cosy atmosphere and nice stuff even though there were many guests to handle - We would definitely recommend this restaurant!
Meli M — Google review
If you order a pizza for takeaway , make sure you check it before you leave the place. I ordered a simple Margherita pizza and this is what I got.
Deepak Z — Google review
They make great pizza, was a delicious experience! This was from the few spots that work on Mondays and despite the busy night, we got a table quickly. Service was nice, staff were friendly, fun and talkative. The reason I gave 4* is because the Aperol aperitivo was not as good. Apart from this - lovely place, good food, good variety of pizza and friendly hardworking staff. Worth the stop.♥️🍕

We arrived late in Auronzo, tired and hungry and the Monaco Pizzeria was next door to our hotel, from the outside it looked like a whole in the wall. Even though we were almost the only people there, (it really was late for dinner-almost 22:00) the waiter was kind enough to let us eat and didn’t seem rushed to get us out. My niece ordered a Pizza Margarita (her favorite) and the rest of had pasta dishes. I had Canerderli a typical dish from the region- not as good as my inlaw’s sister makes but very good nonetheless. The spaghetti carbonara was so good that everyone decided to come back the next night for dinner and we all had carbonara! Great food, helpful staff and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend it.

Nestled near Lake Misurina, Malga Misurina is a charming farm restaurant offering a delightful dining experience. The restaurant boasts outdoor seating with a warm and welcoming ambiance. Visitors can enjoy comfort food made from genuine products such as cheese and jams produced on-site. The friendly staff ensures attentive service, adding to the overall pleasant atmosphere.
Amazing and authentic family-run restaurant in a very quaint and cosy barnhouse. To get there, you can drive up the narrow road (do watch out for incoming cars in the opposite direction) and park at the top of the hill, outside the cottage. Outside, you will see horses and donkeys grazing. The kitchen closes around 3pm, thereafter they serve drinks and light bites like cheese boards and bread. Once you enter the house, you can choose to enter either the left door (2 tables big enough for groups for a more private dining experience. You will also come here to pay after your meals) or the right door (the larger dining space with the kitchen at the end). They also provide German and English menus. We had the grilled cheese (literally cheese on the grill, not the sandwich) with sausage and polenta. The grilled cheese was amazing, gooey, and stretchy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The meat was great too, reminiscent of a McDonald's sausage patty. There are days that they serve tagliatelle or gnocchi. When we visited, the gnocchi was available. The wild mushrooms and cream sauce was enjoyable and savoury. Staff was friendly too and they make you feel right at home. Overall, an unforgettable and amazing visit.

I usually don’t write reviews, let alone be negative about a place. The staff here are working hard, they’re friendly, and they’re doing their best. But honestly, I don’t know where this place gets its high star reviews from. First of all, I don’t mind simple dishes, but I had a €30 beef dish that was just beef with arugula. The good part was really well prepared, but the rest had way too many tendons. It was supposed to come with Parmesan, but they forgot it but they forgot that until we were already finished. (😄) Another table sent their dish back because they found it too salty. I personally thought it was a bit salty, but not too salty for my taste. Another table returned their schnitzel because it wasn’t cooked properly—we could see from our table that it was pink inside. You don’t want that with pork. My wife’s spaghetti was mostly just spaghetti, a few cherry tomato skins, and a lot of olive oil. They only serve unbranded beer and nameless wine. You can only choose between red or white… I’ve never seen that before. At least state what kind of wine your one and only house wine is. Furthermore, I can’t blame the waiters and waitresses for being inexperienced, but I do blame their boss for not training them properly and sending them out alone. You don’t get wine glasses with your wine unless you ask for them. And when you do, they bring one red and one white wine glass for your carafe of red wine, so you have to ask for the correct glass again. I found it all really mediocre, especially for an Italian restaurant, and we were back € 86.

Loved the place and the service but the food was a bit under par. We had some gnocchi with ragu where the gnocchi overwhelmed everything, some eggs with potatoes and the egg whites were not cooked and some of the potatoes the same. The goulash was good. Loved the local fruit juice

Absolutely delicious food! The meat was high quality and perfectly cooked, the dumplings were really tasty, and the cake was simply amazing. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!

After seeing the sign board during a walk around Lake Misurina, we decided to try the restaurant for dinner. It's a nice walk up the hill through the farm (and say hello to the cows, whose milk produced the cheese you are about to eat) , but if you don't like uphill walks, you can drive up as well, and there is parking available near the stalls. It's a farm, so watch where you step on the trail. The dining area was not crowded, and the service was very friendly. We ordered a platter of cheeses and cured meats, which was beautifully presented, and tasted wonderful. The beef stew with salad and polenta, which I had as the main course was cooked to perfection. The desserts were made with fresh ingredients. The home made juices were amazing - the hot blueberry juice is a must try. There are toilet facilities available. I paid cash, and I am not sure if credit card or EC card facilities are available. Adjacent to the restaurant is a shop where you can buy cheese, sausage, and honey from the farm.

One of the best restaurant I ever had and definitely the best we have had during our Italy trip. Tried the beef tongue, pork cheek, gnocchi and lagsana. Very reasonable pricing considering how fresh and good the food is.

To be honest I didn't like it. The food and wine are ordinary, not tasty, like in an ordinary canteen, nothing special. I was not satisfied with the food and the attitude of the staff. I was in this restaurant with my small dog, which weighs 2 kg, and I was not allowed to hold my dog in my arms, they said that I can only leave my dog under the table. I had to leave my dog in the car for a while. I think that this is not a correct attitude towards me and my dog. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
