National park
Memorial park
Nuuksio National Park, located just a few miles from Espoo on the outskirts of Helsinki, offers a serene wilderness escape. Established in 1994, this national park is known for its tranquil forests and lakes. Visitors can enjoy various outdoor activities such as hiking, wildlife spotting, camping under the stars, riding, cycling, climbing, berry and mushroom picking, swimming in pristine lakes and even snowshoeing or skiing during winter.
Although the entire city of Helsinki is a beautiful place where nature is seamlessly integrated with modern development, the sea views surrounding the city are particularly mesmerizing. However, when you visit Nuuksio National Park, you experience a different kind of beauty—one that feels untouched, peaceful, and far removed from the noise and crowds of urban life. At Nuuksio, you are embraced by true wilderness. Towering trees stretch toward the sky, tranquil lakes reflect the changing light, and the soothing sound of birdsong fills the air. The deep blue waters of the lakes may seem mysterious and even a little intimidating at first glance, but as your eyes follow the shoreline—lined with gentle stone hills and graceful pine trees—you begin to feel a deep sense of calm and connection. It is in these quiet, natural surroundings that you truly fall in love with the place.
Choudhary A — Google review
This beautiful national park offers a wide range of well-marked trails of varying lengths and levels of difficulty, making it suitable for both short, relaxing walks and more challenging, longer hikes. Along the routes, you will find designated barbecue and picnic areas where families and groups of friends can enjoy a meal surrounded by nature. The park combines outdoor adventure with moments of relaxation, making it an ideal destination for those who want to connect with nature, enjoy breathtaking landscapes, and spend quality time in a peaceful environment.

We had an amazing hike here, in october. There is moss and lichen everywhere, its beautiful and colorful, even without the sun. The lakes are dark and pines red, with the white birch trees, its a beautiful combination. There are more sites to set camp and set fire. There are even firewood sheds, with axes and saws and toilets. Recommend 10/10.

Nuuksio National Park is a nice getaway with a stone’s throw away from the bustling city of Helsinki. It’s a beautifully preserved park with nice trails and scenery that epitomizes the Scandinavian landscape. There are some interesting hiking trails which you can take ranging from an hour or longer.

I came here during the first week of September, so still warm and fairly quiet in parts. Everything is clearly signposted and it was quite a nice space to lose yourself in. Plenty of mushrooms too!
Penny L — Google review
It’s a very beautiful, quiet, and peaceful place. There’s no need to be afraid if you see a snake, because they are all harmless water snakes. You can also swim in the lake located in the forest.
N. K — Google review
what a beautiful park! we combined orange, red and yellow trails which made up to around 20km. there are a few rest stops along the way where you can eat your snacks and soak in your surroundings which are simply breathtaking. we left tired yet refreshed.
Tereza K — Google review
Great for hiking. Loads of lakes and ponds, outdoor cooking huts, WC huts, good for wild camping, I'm sure there are set rules to where you could pitch up.

EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art is a must-visit destination for art enthusiasts. Located in the WeeGee building, it's Finland's largest art museum, covering over 5,500sqm. The museum showcases 20th-century and contemporary Finnish and international art, as well as design exhibitions. Surrounded by the forest, the gallery offers panoramic views through its windows.
Great art, beautiful views, and a delicious cafe. EMMA is a short walk from the Tapiola metro stop and is such a nice change of pace from the museum districts of downtown Helsinki.
Jessica F — Google review
The wonderful adventure even if you didn't understand what design means. 😄 Visit EMMA and learn! You're worth it. Absolutely great collection of art and design.
Nanni A — Google review
Our favourite museum in Espoo 🙂 We are coming here quite frequently, not only to check the new exhibitions, but also to spend time. It became a mandatory stop during the walk around Tapiola-Westend. It’s a cozy, at the same time quiet big modern art museum in a walking distance from the Tapiola metro station. There are two floors, and multiple separate exhibitions of different artists, both Finnish and foreign, that are changed regularly. Mostly we like them, but lately it became too modern and lucking some elegance and technique in my opinion. It’s a pity that permanent exhibition about Espoo city was removed. It was an interesting one and informative, and there were no other alternatives to it in other museums, at least not that I know about. On Fridays it’s free admission and the museum is open until 19.
Olha K — Google review
EMMA was an interesting and enjoyable experience. It’s great to see so many Finnish artists represented, especially those who are usually underrepresented elsewhere. If you have a couple of hours to spare, I would definitely recommend visiting. The atmosphere was very relaxed, not crowded at all when I went, which made it easy to take your time and really enjoy the art. Entry is €20 per person unless you are under 29, in which case it is cheaper. Overall, a very chill and worthwhile place to explore.
Neptun Y — Google review
Fantastic museum for modern art in Helsinki's twin city Espoo. Friday from 3 until 7 pm you get free entrance! They even don't ask for a donation. The art works are from Finnish artist Karin Hellman. This exhibition will be open until 1 Feb 2026.
Cheick B — Google review
Very nice contemporary museum. Little far from the Tapiola Metro Station like 15 min walk. Glad to see inside of WeeGee too.
Saori W — Google review
Having previously visited the Helsinki Museum of Modern Art, I'd definitely recommend the Espoo museum instead. It's a large museum with a good balance of art to floor space, with multiple interesting exhibitions, and a good range of performance pieces, physically objects, and paintings. I especially enjoyed the exhibition exploring the security company Securitas! Entry is free on Fridays after 5pm so I would absolutely recommend a visit!

The Gallen-Kallela Museum, located on the shores of Laajalahti Bay in Helsinki, is the former home and studio of Akseli Gallen-Kallela, a prominent Finnish artist from the 19th century. The museum showcases his eccentric art and offers visitors a glimpse into the roots of National Romantic style and Finnish cultural awakening.
We came around 9pm on Saturday, but enjoyed the place immensely: flowers, buildings, sea view, birds singing - all you need to relax in the middle of the city! Now we plan to visit the museum during the opening hours.

Beautiful area and such a nice coffee place. In the museum you can learn about the lives in the 1880-1920 s.
Maria K — Google review
A very nice and quiet spot. Great views of the lake and a lovely cafe nearby. The museum itself is of a very lovely design, and contains lots of mementos from the artist's life. Note that there's quite a bit of a climb involved. Overall, a nice stop on your walk on to Munkkiniemi.
Yijie X — Google review
Very interesting story about the artist in the museum manual. And of course good collection of paintings on Kenia topic. I didn't notice English text book available though, but was Russian, in addition to Finnish and Swedish.
Aleksandra Z — Google review
Visited on Sunday 18.5.2925. I was disappointed, because I hoped to see some of Gallen-Kallelas paintings, but there are virtually none. They are all in the main museums. This small museum hosts exhibitions and during my visit it was drawings by Alexandra Ionowa, a theosophist and mason. Her work reflects her beliefs and is not my cup of tea. Of the photos uploaded, only the poster for a car race is by Alexis Gallen-Kalella.
Jean W — Google review
Poorly lid, very tired looking museum ... found few pieces of art by Gallen-Kallela himself ... separate coffee house Villa was very pleasant.

In Helsinki, the Exhibition Centre WeeGee is a must-visit for art and culture enthusiasts. This center houses attractive artworks and contemporary art exhibits that will captivate your attention. Located in Tapiola, the cultural hub of Espoo, it is part of a vibrant arts scene alongside the Espoo Cultural Centre and Espoo City Theatre.
Been there when Espoo day as its free. The collection is really nice, shows some great art, ceramics, glass art. In the second floor, there is a kids area which also really nice.
Mushonnifun S — Google review
It's lovely to have a big museum area in Espoo. The displays were interesting but small artworks get lost in the large grayish space. These rooms require big, colorful installations and completely differently designed areas for smaller works. Do it yourself art section was a fun idea.
Maria L — Google review
EMMA was my favourite museum in Finland. It has a good variety of art: ceramics, glass, wood and paintings. I especially liked the concretism gallery.
Praful K — Google review
WeeGee is a fantastic exhibition center located in the heart of Espoo, offering a fresh and engaging take on modern and contemporary art. The spacious galleries (EMMA, KAMU etc) host a rotating lineup of thoughtfully curated exhibitions, so there’s always something new to discover, whether you’re a first-time visitor or a returning art lover. A standout feature is the dedicated children’s area, making WeeGee one of the more family-friendly museums around. Another unique highlight is the Futuro House, the colorful, retro-futuristic plastic home that looks like it landed straight out of a sci-fi film. It’s included with your museum ticket and well worth the visit — both for its design history and visual impact. If you need a break after soaking in the art, the on-site restaurant on the bottom floor offers an affordable menu, making it easy to refuel without leaving the building. Whether you’re an art enthusiast, a curious traveler, or a parent looking for a creative outing with the kids, WeeGee is well worth a visit.

Really insightful experience)more for art appreciators). The surrounding is very well maintained, neat and tidy. The actual exhibition hall is not that big, but the displays are mostly interesting modern art and culture , crafts ,unique art work and are simply breath taking, authentic art pieces.Worth the tickets but it's free every Fridays after 17:00 ;) Adult : €12 / Below 18 &70+ ~ Free / Pensioners ,students etc ~ € 10

Weegee is an enormous art gallery. There are a lot of different things to look at, and I spent at least 2 hours looking around until closing time. You'll definitely find something for everyone here. There's even a play area for little kids! P.s. Free entry after 3 pm on Fridays. :)

Restaurant Fat Lizard Otaniemi is a popular dining spot known for its delicious food and wide selection of craft beers. Located near the Tapiola movie theater, this restaurant offers a variety of dishes including grilled, smoked, and fried options. The menu features mouthwatering pizzas baked to perfection while the bar serves an excellent range of Fat Lizard and other craft beers on tap.
FAT Sunday Brunch. This restaurant had been on my wish list for a long time. I have to say that the best experience was going there for brunch. Even though I'm picky and don't eat much, everything was really good and high quality. I recommend!
Tero V — Google review
Don’t order burgers here! We came for a company dinner and had a reservation, but the service wasn’t good. We had to explain our orders many times, and still some food came wrong. The appetizers, desserts, and drinks were really good. But the burgers were terrible. All the well-done burgers were burnt and had hard edges that we couldn’t even cut with a knife. When I told the waiter, he just said, “Next time order medium+ instead of well-done,” which wasn’t very helpful. I heard their pizza is very good, but the burgers were a big disappointment!
Amir F — Google review
An excellent dining experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere is inviting, and they offer a big variety of beers that pair wonderfully with the food. Their pizza, baked in a traditional oven, is simply perfect. I highly recommend trying the cheese pepperoni pizza—it’s a must-try for any pizza lover.
Dejan G — Google review
In doubt between 3 of 4 stars. The reason why is because I have been here two times, once for some drinks which is completely fine with nice beers to choose from. Second time I went for a pizza and choose the cheese overload. The base was fine but the taste a bit plain. The nduja sausage was difficult to find and the chives ricotta simply didn't match with the pizza. It wasn't nice at all. The beers and the flaming Alaska meringue dessert made my day though.
Sander V — Google review
Grate food and cozy if not a little loud atmosphere. The service was okay but a lot of errors both in ordering and with payment. The food was out within 20 minutes
Linus W — Google review
Honestly it's pretty bad, food is coming cold, they are not gonna re heat it for you. Have you ever tried cold steak? You gonna try it here. They will change your food if it's cold for another one that's also cold. They are never really cleaning anything and walking around looking like they are angry or miserable. You need salt? Go ask the kitchen for it as a customer. Need toothpick? Well go run after the waiter. Wanna order something well you can only order from the lunch menu till dinner. I really do not recommend this place.
Erik — Google review
I really love the fat lizard. I have gone there multiple times and it’s always a treat. I had brunch buffet on a Sunday and we were so filled up as a family as they had so many things to eat for a price of 27 euros for 2 people. I also went for dinner another time and I had their stake with potatoes. It’s super delicious. Their pizza is also very good and I highly recommend dining here!

The best pizzas in Espoo at least by the recognition in the pizza competition in Italy. Very fine pies and also the craft beer selection is at least decent. Staff is partially students from the campus so English is the main language I would say.

Turkish restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant shopping center of Lippulaiva, Restaurant Kilim is a delightful culinary gem in Espoo that showcases the rich flavors of Turkish cuisine. This inviting eatery offers a diverse menu featuring mouthwatering kebabs and an impressive salad bar, perfect for those looking to indulge during lunch hours. With its cozy atmosphere and outdoor terrace, diners can enjoy their meals while soaking up the lively surroundings.
Excellent food, friendly staff and baby/ kid friendly. Definitely going again. Nice terrace too. 😊
Susanna N — Google review
Disappointing experience with customer service. The restaurant's website states that it is open from Tuesday to Friday until 22:00, but they closed earlier than expected, which was inconvenient. Additionally, when inquiring about dietary options, the staff seemed unfamiliar with the details and reacted defensively rather than providing helpful information.
Ahsan R — Google review
Great taste of the food, "personal service" and good deserts. Portion sizes could be bigger. The lamb skewers were best in Espoo.
Arto M — Google review
Turkish Delight Wide selection of meze. Weekend buffet was pricey though. But stomach is full.
Jukka N — Google review
I came here for dinner, and the restaurant was completely empty. Quite strange as the reviews are good. I guess they are for lunch or fake? The food is too expensive for the quality you get. Don't get me wrong, the food was not bad, but the portion not so big and the bread served with the dish was not really Turkish. I got the Iskender meat menu and the filled wine leaves as starter. I would not come back.
Sander V — Google review
Very nice turkish cuisine. On top of the good kebab there is a salad table with alot of options. Open only for lunch from 10.30 am to 3 pm. There is a terrace so it is possible to eat outside.
Tapio H — Google review
We had a late-evening meal here before going to the movies next door. Weird experience I have to say. Besides us there was only one other couple eating here. The front of house took the orders and as I thanked the waiter in Finnish, he replied quite rudely that he does not speak Finnish. I understand that our language is difficult to learn, but I still think it would be appropriate to at least learn some basic phrases in Finnish (like “kiitos” and “ole hyvä”). Minimum expectations are that the front of the house should at least show some decent manners by not reprimanding the customers for saying thanks in Finnish. Newsflash to staff: You are operating in Finland, not Turkey. When in Rome you know… In addition to this, the waiter acted surprised and started to roast us when my wife paid the bill. Another newsflash to the staff: In Finland men and women have equal rights. It is ok here for a woman to pay as well as do other things that men do. I wish that people from other countries and cultures could act in the manner that is appropriate to the country they are residing in. Again, when in Rome… The good thing with this restaurant is that the food tasted ok, but the portion sizes were disappointing. Given that the prizes are appr. 25 € per portion, the expectation is that you would be served ample portions. Disappointingly this is not the case. There are plenty of restaurants in Tapiola and I will not choose this one again. I think that it would be appropriate to hire someone to the front of house that have some basic manners and some passion for what they are doing. Now, even as the restaurant was almost empty, the service made us feel unwelcome.

Nestled along the picturesque shores of Haukilahti, Strindberg Haukilahti offers a delightful taste of Nordic cuisine in a stunning marina setting. Whether you're dressed casually in sportswear or looking to celebrate a special occasion, this restaurant welcomes all with open arms. The outdoor terrace is perfect for enjoying drinks on warm evenings, surrounded by the serene beauty of boats and water. Guests rave about the delicious seafood dishes, particularly the expertly prepared pike perch that stands out among other offerings.
Our experience here was excellent! We ordered three different fish&seafood dishes and they were all delicious and well executed. The pike perch with well chosen garnishes and sauce was the winner this time. Friendly and fast service. Pleasant atmosphere. Something between upmarket and relaxed harbour restaurant. Bonus point for the fact that smoking is not allowed on the dining terrace.

Terrible food. Visited this place yesterday for dinner to celebrate Father's Day, total disappointment. The mushroom soup was extremely salty and oily, can't believe they actually dare to serve that to people. Then had the salmon, nothing special, but you can easily have better salmon for the same price. For dessert had the French Toast, no complains. But some others had the Apple Pie, it had an awful appearance and not the best taste. I have read some other reviews and some people say that the food is too expensive for the quality, and I totally understand why. However, I would add that in no respectable place, no matter the price range, have I ever eaten such disgusting food.
Luis O — Google review
We stopped for drinks at this beautiful restaurant in the middle of the marina. The evening was exceptionally warm, so we enjoyed our drinks on the nice outdoor terrace of the restaurant. The rock surface continued right next to the terrace and behind it was the boat channel and more piers. The place feels really maritime! This time we didn't eat, but settled for beers, aperol spritz and glasses of wine. The pricing was at the high end so be ready to pay 10 euros for a glass of beer! The service was friendly and the restaurant was nicely decorated.
Heikki K — Google review
Nearly perfect place if you are with a boat, the evening sun on the terrace is not be missed during the summer season, docking the boat is easy as many spaces are available for restaurant customers only. The food if pretty good compared to other similar options around Espoo.. the staff is friendly and even borrows their personal lighter in need :)

Really bad food. Good ambience. Decent service. One of the really bad lunches I had in recent times. I had a vegan starter and main meal. Both of them tasted bad. If you want to eat something vegan, avoid this place. I heard from my friends that steak is also not good here. The seafood is good though. UPDATE: Nice to see that the management responds to reviews. Please ask your chef to practice some nice vegan recipes. Vegan food does not need to taste like grass. There are many amazing vegan recipes.

the young girl serving us was lovely. the atmosphere is very nice too. unfortunately the food wasn't great. 25€ for a burger, you'd expect it to be excellent but it was awful. Ultra salty, rubbery patty. It really isn't the most difficult food to get right. 5 stars for service, 1 for food

Best tenderloin steak I ever had! Tartare was exceptional as well. I honestly don’t get the negative reviews, especially those that have to do with a small menu, which on the contrary shows the quality of the establishment. Great place, great location and great service. A bit pricy. Highly recommend

Georgian cuisine in Helsinki is readily available and generally satisfactory, with Rioni being a notable choice for an authentic and delicious dining experience. This small Finnish chain has multiple locations, including one in Espoo that exudes an urban atmosphere. While the Turku branch aims to replicate a casual Georgian ambiance through decor, the Espoo restaurant focuses on providing a contemporary setting.
We went very early, just after the restaurant opened so it was still very quiet. It was our first ever trip to a Georgian restaurant so please bear that in mind in my review. We ordered a Georgian lemonade and a Lamb soup with tarragon flavour, and a spicy beef soup. Both were delicious in a different way. The meat contained within both are succulent, and tender. The soup flavours are unique. I have not tasted something like them before. Sharp , salty? But not in an unpleasant way. We really liked what we experienced. I will definitely visit again if I have the chance.
Bren K — Google review
I recently had the pleasure of dining here, and I must say, the Georgian cuisine was absolutely delightful. This restaurant has quickly become one of my top three Georgian restaurants. Every dish I ordered was incredibly flavorful and delicious. They also offer a variety of unique non-alcoholic beverages that are equally tasty. I've included some photos of these drinks. The restaurant is conveniently located in a shopping center, making it easy to use the parking facilities. Since it's situated at the end of the hallway on the second floor, it's very quiet and peaceful. The staff were exceptionally friendly and hospitable, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. The food was prepared within a reasonable time frame.

Nestled within the stunning Haukilahti water tower, Panoramic Restaurant Haikaranpesä has been a cherished destination for events and delightful lunches since the late 1960s. As one of Southern Finland's highest restaurants, it offers breathtaking views over the sea and the rooftops of Espoo and Helsinki.
This is one of the best restaurants I have visited in Finland. The cuisine was exceptional, offering a perfect balance of quality and taste. The service was outstanding, starting from the moment we entered, with a very friendly and attentive staff. The only drawback was that on the day of our visit, the viewing glasses were frozen, limiting our enjoyment of the scenic view. Nonetheless, I highly recommend it.👍👍
DC S — Google review
Had lunch at Panoramic Restaurant Haikaranpesä for the third time. A stylish, sea-view venue that offers an indoor buffet experience with calm vibes and a touch of elegance. However, a few things to know before you go: the restaurant works by reservation only, and the menu is nearly identical every day. You’ll find marinated salmon, fish tartare, fresh salads, different potato sides, desserts, ice cream, hot drinks, and free water. Occasionally, there’s steak-style hot dishes, but don’t expect much variety. Also, a note for management: one of the tall male chefs tends to give lingering looks that can make some guests feel uncomfortable. If you’ve noticed the same, feel free to like this comment — maybe it will bring some awareness. No outdoor seating, but the panoramic view from inside is truly a highlight. Food: 7/10 View: 9/10 Atmosphere: 8/10 Variety: 5/10 Would I go again? Yes, once in a while. Would I recommend it? Yes — but manage expectations. Seafood, skyline & a side of awareness. ⚠️👨‍🍳🍽️🐟🥗🍰☕🌊

Very nice experience! The atmosphere and music are outstanding. The food is good. The current menu is very nice. However, I wish there is a little more variety. For example, one or two signature dishes would be perfect (either dessert or the main course).

What a pleasant and relaxing lunch! Came here on a Monday afternoon and it was quiet and the views were just beautiful. The service was excellent and very friendly from our female waitress. The salad and cold buffet in the beginning is excellent with lots of variety and the desserts are wonderful too. The entrées are just ok. And the music is excessively dated, but that’s part of the fun. 😎 All in all, we love this beautiful stork’s nest / UFO 🛸 water tower hang out + will be back with family again soon! 🙏🏻

Amazing view which makes it worth the visit. The food is good, well done, however if you aren't carnivorous, the magic buffet disappears and they serve you at the table. Then it is important to book a table and let them know in advance. Friendly staff.

The place has a really nice view of the baltic sea. The buffet is slightly overpriced considering the menu they provided. The starter collection is really good with different meat and fish assortment. The deserts are average. There are only two items in the main course, we had white fish and beef with average preparation.
