History Museums
Mansfield Museum offers a captivating journey through the social and industrial history of the area, featuring interactive exhibits, objects, and photographs. The museum hosts engaging educational programs for local primary schools, including a space-themed exhibition and stargazing activities. It also encourages children to participate in scientific discovery by observing the night sky and tracking lunar phases.
Lovely museum with friendly staff and plenty of rest areas. My kid had a great time there with the Halloween-themed word treasure hunt to earn a sticker. #FamilyFriendly #MuseumAdventure #HalloweenFun

Interesting little museum, a little on the local history of the town, and a lot of stuffed birds! Seemed to be doing a good job keeping kids engaged and entertained over half term, too. Pop in if you're in the town - it will take about an hour to see what they have.

A fantastic museum with some permanent local history, a very impressive bird exhibit and other rotating exhibits. I went to see an amazing coin exhibit with pieces from nearly every period of United Kingdom coin history, and a fascinating one about creatures of the carboniferous period, quite overlooked and very weird. I went to coin handling and a presentation which were very educational. I'm definitely keeping an eye on the events in the future.

I think the bird experience was amazing. The bird room is amazing. The whole place is very clean. All the rooms are tidy and organised. I would give 10 star if I could. <3

Lovely little museum that focuses on the local business and industry of Mansfield. It has a lot of free booklets to research past Mansfield and also explore the present. Has a huge collection of animals - especially a gallery of birds. Nice little cafe and gift shop.
Jessica M — Google review
Not bad for free.. But the experience could be better. Some of the bird displays look bunched together. The money says "current money" but it's from previous currency which is now outdated and the only current money is a blown up image of king Charles on a five pound note. There are some interesting collectables from beer bottles/jugs, to a vintage telephone box, biscuit tins, whiskey bottle cases and bric a brac. But again some looked bunched up in the displays which made it harder to see.

Bowling alley
Mansfield Superbowl is a fantastic destination for bowling enthusiasts and families alike, featuring 28 lanes that cater to both seasoned bowlers and novices. Whether you're aiming for strikes or just having fun with the kids, this venue promises an enjoyable experience for everyone. With late-night sessions available, you can gather your friends or family for some friendly competition while indulging in delicious burgers and drinks from the bar.
We came here for the first time yesterday for my son’s 6th birthday as a group of 10 people including 4 children. We booked in advance online and when we got there, the lanes were already set up for us with everyone’s names already on the system too which saved so much time. It was great that we were able to keep our shoes on as we haven’t been bowling for over 10 years and we had to swap our shoes back then but when we came here we only had to swap shoes depending on the type of shoes we already had on. We all had a brilliant time bowling and the children loved it too. We then let the children have a game of air hockey before we left which they also loved and had great fun with. Staff were friendly and helpful and overall it was a good atmosphere and we had a really good time. I also felt it was reasonably priced per person. Only thing I’d add is it would be helpful if you could put on the confirmation email when booking, a reminder to bring your socks as my sister arrived in sandals thinking they would have socks and this meant she wasn’t allowed to play at all. Thank you!
Chloe M — Google review
It was overly expensive, but if you buy as part of one of the deals. It makes it more palatable. Food on site is overpriced, especially with three restaurants within walking distance. It was still a fun-filled afternoon with the kids who enjoyed that arcade after an hour of bowling. I would go again, but once every 6 months to a year.
Simon C — Google review
All the family had a great time and had lots of fun. The bowling was a bit expensive but well worth it. We had the bargain bowl and without a time limit we were able to take our time. Don't use the claw machine it's just like the fair. It takes your money and gives tears in return. Food was lovely and the drinks not that badly priced.
PAUL E — Google review
Issue with leak in ceiling area whilst bowling. Area was segregated off and Jody and the guys handled situation very professionally. Well done guys. Drinks for bar still available which we were grateful for.
Lee B — Google review
I scored 4* as for about half an hour I was driving around trying to find parking space. Very small car park area however the place itself was a great fun.
Barbara M — Google review
Nice bowling but I would think twice about buying food there. The burger I had was the worst I’ve ever had, the burger was not fresh and drier than Gandhi’s flip flop and the bun expiry date was sometime in the 18th century. I would question the 4 ⭐️ hygiene rating but the staff were very friendly so can’t fault them on that.
James C — Google review
Took my daughter for a birthday. She was all smiles coming back to pick her. She said she had fun all the way
Tunde R — Google review
I was there to play a tournament and its a very good venue for fun and serious bowling for serious bowlers they have the upstairs while fun bowlers have the downstairs section, with bars upstairs and down its the perfect venue.

Italian restaurant
Ciao Bella is a delightful Italian eatery located on Nottingham Road in Mansfield, where the ambiance is as inviting as the menu. This charming spot offers a perfect blend of traditional and contemporary Italian dishes, making it an ideal destination for food lovers. Guests can unwind with a refreshing glass of prosecco in the lounge bar before indulging in their meal.
Family of 5 early Dinner. Wonderfully decorated and very smart dining room. Starters were excellent, prawns, mussels, meatballs. Pate. All freshly cooked with great sauces. Mains and desserts also very good and the desserts were fantastic, probably a bit too generous TBH. The staff were very hard working and very polite. Well worth the 10% tip we left as service charge is not on the menu as standard. Highly recommend.

An Unforgettable Experience at Caio Bella – Thanks to Mircea! If I could give more than five stars, I absolutely would. My recent visit to Caio Bella in Mansfield was made truly exceptional by Mircea, whose expertise, charisma, and passion for his craft transformed a simple evening out into an experience to remember. From the moment we arrived, Mircea made us feel instantly welcome with his warm and professional approach. He struck that perfect balance between attentive service and relaxed charm, effortlessly moving between the bar and dining area as though he was hosting friends in his own home. It’s rare to meet someone who can read the room so well — he seemed to know exactly when to step in, when to make us laugh, and when to let us enjoy the moment. What really stood out, though, was his exceptional knowledge and recommendations when it came to wine. His passion is undeniable, and with 25 years in the industry, it shows. Every bottle he suggested came with a story — not just about the grape or the region, but about the feeling behind the wine. He made it interactive, educational, and genuinely fun. My friend and I were fascinated by the insight he shared, and by the end of the first glass, we were completely captivated. Now, to put it into perspective — we came in for a quiet drink, maybe a single bottle to share. But Mircea’s enthusiasm and skill had us staying for a second, and somehow, before we knew it, we were halfway through a third bottle! If that doesn’t speak to his charm and persuasive flair, I don’t know what does. A true salesman, yes — but one who sells with heart, knowledge, and authenticity rather than pressure. Mircea has a way of turning a simple wine recommendation into an experience. Every pour came with laughter, stories, and genuine connection. His professionalism never faltered, but his personality shone through in every interaction. It’s clear that his 25 years of experience have shaped him into not just a brilliant sommelier and host, but a master of customer experience. If you visit Caio Bella — and you absolutely should — do yourself a favour and let Mircea guide you through your evening. Whether you’re a wine novice or a seasoned enthusiast, he’ll make sure you leave with not just a satisfied palate, but a smile, a story, and maybe even an extra bottle (or two) you didn’t plan on ordering! A true gem in Mansfield’s hospitality scene. Thank you, Mircea, for reminding us what outstanding service really looks like.

Visited here for my little sister’s 18th and it was fabulous 🥰 The staff were great.. they let us take balloons early for them to set up on the table & also bought her dessert out with a candle singing happy birthday 🎂 so thoughtful !! The food is just delicious.. everyone’s dish was just gorgeous, from pizza to pasta, antipasti to risotto 😍 great aperol too !🍹 We will be back 🧡

I ordered the antipasto platter and immediately noticed that the prosciutto crudo tasted sour and unpleasant. Upon closer inspection, I saw white, fuzzy edges on some slices — clear signs of early mold. I pointed this out to the waiter, who instantly dismissed me, saying, “That’s not mold” and that it was impossible because it had come from the fridge. I calmly explained that I know what mold looks and tastes like, and that I’ve also worked in a kitchen in Italy — I know what fresh prosciutto should look and taste like. His response? A sarcastic, “You know the taste of mold?” I felt insulted and mocked. He took the plate to the head chef, then returned with the same line: “It’s fresh, it was stored properly.” But the white fuzzy texture was still there, and the taste confirmed it wasn’t right. I also noticed that the prosciutto cotto looked dried out and not fresh — as if it had been sliced hours earlier and left exposed. When I insisted the product wasn’t fresh, the waiter said, “Let’s not argue,” clearly trying to hush the conversation so other guests wouldn’t hear. Then he asked, “Should I leave the plate or take it?” I clearly replied, “I’m not eating mold.” He took the plate — and still charged us for it. To prove my point, I went to Aldi afterwards and bought freshly packaged prosciutto to satisfy my craving. I took comparison photos and a short video showing the clear difference in texture, color, and freshness. There’s no doubt that what I was served at the restaurant was not acceptable. I was shocked by the complete lack of professionalism, the dismissive attitude, and the zero accountability. If a guest raises a legitimate food safety concern, it should be taken seriously — not met with sarcasm and denial. Extremely disappointing experience.

We stopped by Ciao Bella just for a glass of wine and were blown away by the service! Mircea, who served us, was so knowledgeable and passionate about wine. Once we’d tasted our glass, he gave us a little masterclass on where it came from, how it was made, and what to look out for in the flavours — it was fascinating! He was kind, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. We didn’t have food this time, but the atmosphere and service alone will definitely bring us back. Highly recommend! 🍷

Absolutely wonderful food as usual. The whipped goats cheese was delicious, paired beautifully with the poached apricots. The steak melted in my mouth and the desserts were simply delicious. The service was fantastic. Very easily wheelchair accessible ♿️ with a huge accessible toilet. Absolutely wonderful and I highly recommend.

How do they do it year after year? This is a restaurant staffed by students. They have limited experience but led by brilliant tutors they produce food that surpasses anything produced by any other restaurants in the area. The only fault with this restaurant is that it is so good that I can't get a table as often as I would like. I was trained as a chef here but it is better now than ever and I'm not ashamed to admit it. So, come on Mansfield, support your local college (but leave space for me to have a table every month at least)

We were treated to dinner at Refined as a Christmas gift with friends. What a wonderful experience in a really lovely and relaxing environment. I love that the restaurant is run entirely by students as part of the hospitality courses run at the college, whilst being supervised by tutors, giving the students a real to life experience of working in the sector. We were having the seafood tasting menu and inwas delighted by every course. The food was prepared and cooked and served in a professional manner. Our party of four all had different favourites, I was so impressed by everything. My only critique being that we were not told which each dish was at it was served. Such amazing value and a great opportunity to support the students. I will definitely return.

i-Jump Trampoline Park is a well-run and safety-focused venue that offers fun for all ages. The interactive jump wall and friendly staff make it a great place to tire out the little ones while adults can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Despite slightly expensive admission and food, the well-maintained facilities and helpful staff make it worth the visit. Additionally, their accommodating nature ensures that even with booking issues, everyone can have a great time together.
We came here for the first time today with our 3 & 5 Year Olds. We booked the i-tots session at 10am for under 5’s and it was brilliant. There were plenty of staff supervising different areas and staff all seemed friendly, helpful and easy to approach. Facilities were super clean and tidy and plenty of tables to sit on as well as eating facility. Price to get in was really good. Everyone had soooo much fun, even the parents did. We noticed all the children and parents around us were equally having a fun time. It wasn’t just a large trampoline area, there was also a fantastic giant sponge pit with a rock climbing wall and a balance beam over a different sponge pit. The car park outside was very large too. We had such a good time and we can’t wait to book back in again soon! Thank you so much. 10/10 😊 The only thing I’d like to add is we’d love to have the option to do the i-tots under 5’s session at a later time rather than just 10am.
Chloe M — Google review
it was awful, i do not recommend coming at all, my daughter and her friend got told off 3 times for jumping on the trampolines… they also got told off for using the bathroom then when i came into the toilet to see what was wrong the worker hid? if there’s an issue then talk to me, don’t take it out on 13 year old girls. we booked a 2 hour session and after 40 mins we had left… there is no air conditioning and my daughter almost fainted. safe to say we will not be returning.

3 adults 2 juniors and 2 toddlers. All had a great time. Well run safety first. Juniors and toddlers absolutely loved it and never came off only for the occasional drink. Food and drink expensive along with admission but well worth the peaceful night we had. They tired themselves out!

Really poor hygiene, dirty tables with cups and plates of food on tables from previous customers which were not cleaned in the whole time we were there, I asked the staff politely if they could clear the table and was told they haven’t got enough staff, paid for coffee and waited as the coffee machine then broke and ended up asking for a refund and no coffee, not a pleasant visit
Annmarie M — Google review
A bit pricey to enter on a one off but have good offers for regulars. The café and staff are great.

this place wasn’t very good, food is extremely expensive.i would recommend getting food before/after. I took my daughter and her friend (they are 13) and at first it was very good.but then we realised there was no air conditioning expect from where you have to push a button and it comes out of this little “fan” for about 10 seconds. The staff was extremely rude telling them to get off the trampolines when they were just jumping. And just chatting amoungst themselves and not supervising the kids. They also got told off because they went into the toilet together because one of them needed personal hygeine products and didn’t want to ask the staff as they were so rude so asked she asked her friend. Was good price for being there/tickets but the food was extremely overpriced and we was expecting a bit more.it was quite dirty aswell as there was dirt on the tables trampolines are dirty the socks that we bought were disgusting when they wanted to go and I understand it will be hard to clean the trampolines etc but that doesn’t me don’t clean it at all.The foam squares that are meant to be in the pit weren’t even out had a cover on. So the girls came and told me what was going on and we left soon after that we spent about 40 mins there wouldn’t recommend going. And it seems the owner is only replying to the positive comments and not the negative.
Millie C — Google review
Great deals on, lovely staff, it has a small arcade downstairs and a seating area to view the trampoline park upstairs. Only downside was that there were bits of rubbish and tissue all around the trampolines and it was first thing in the morning when we went so id say it wasnt cleaned on a daily basis.

We held my son’s 7th birthday here. The staff were fab when booking allowing us to move the date of the party after we had paid the deposit. James was our party host, he was great. The kids were in safe hands and he jumped with them helping nervous kids on the high platform and helping my son at the basketball hoop. He kept me informed of what was happening next but in general the grownups could sit and chill knowing he had it in hand, Thank you James!

We came for the bottomless brunch - abit of a con really. It cost £26 each. Myself and my sister came and we sat down and were given 1 pizza to share, we thought the pizza was really nice. However after the pizza, we weren’t allowed another one (described as bottomless pizza), we had to have slices. You’d think you’d at least get 1 each? The slices were tiny! We were very disappointed. Also, the cocktails were a terrible selection. Do not get the cherry cola! It was terrible we had to send it back. Really bad, had to pay £1.50 for dips. Would not recommend

Visited for Sunday lunch with my partner who has been multiple times before and couldn’t recommend it enough . Decided we wanted to have a drink before being seated for our meal so attended the venue a hour early . We sat on the sofa area near the windows and it was lovely . The lady came over and told my partner our table was ready so we headed over to be seated . Once seated we was asked if we wanted any drinks , the gentleman who served us was really helpful and got my partners drink whilst I decided what cocktail I wanted . It all went downhill from here . Me and my partner was torn between the beef and the lamb ! So we ordered both and decided to share it . The meals came out and waited for our sides to arrive . The server came over in a panic that he had given us the wrong meals , after we discussed we have ordered the beef and the lamb he reassured us that this is what we had . We asked if our sides were on there way as he just stood at the kitchen door staring at our table. He brought over the pigs in blankets and had to be sent back for the extra gravy and mint sauce we had ordered. Me and my partner split our meat and started to tuck in thinking the veg must be on its way … to later discover there was no veg . And it wasn’t lamb . We politely told the young girl and she told us he was new which we sympathised with but I wanted the lamb I had ordered . She lent over took my plate and went . Again me and my partner had split our meats so not only did I end up with the wrong meat but the meat we had actually ordered she had taken without asking . A different Lady then brought over a replacement meal and veg and asked us if we wanted another drink . We ordered some drinks and then was greeted by the young girl asking if everything was ok . I yet again asked is this definitely lamb this time and she said yes it’s definitely lamb . Again it wasn’t lamb . At this point I was put off my meal and didn’t want it anymore . I understand people make mistakes but when they are just point blank lieing and not taking the time to check things it’s rude . We asked for our bill and the meat to be put in a takeaway box to take home for the dogs. The bill arrived and it was simply the bill , no discount or drink knocked off nothing . At this point it was easier to just pay than argue it as our taxi had arrived. £75 down the drain only bonus is the dogs got meat for there tea ! We won’t be recommending this place to anyone in the future . My partner was in disbelief on how awful our experience was compared to his previous visits .

Went here with my family last week after not being in a long time since pre-covid. Unfortunately we were let down on mainly the service. Starting with the atmosphere, the lay-out and look of the restaurant is quite kept up and lovely, unfortunately the natives were out during our time as around 2-4 kids were screaming their heads off while the family didn't seam to bother which made it difficult to talk to a family member who is already slightly deaf. Another negative was the service, though all the staff were very kind and said they will come to us for our drinks first before ordering food, it did take a little while before our drink order was taken. We were informed that food would be at least a 40 minute wait due to the restaurant being busy but unfortunately we ended up waiting nearly 1hr 45 minutes before the service of our food arrived, to which beforehand we got informed 10 minutes after that our food had begun dishing out. The positive aspect would be the food when we finally got it. Both my parents and myself did get our food which was enjoyable. My dad had a big portion of Sausage, Mash, peas with three giant onion rings with Gravy poured around it. My mum had a wrap with a portion of salad, which was full and tasty. I myself being a picky eater stuck with a pizza which was tasty, by only gripe with it was it felt a bit more cheesy which made it feel heavy. It did come with a portion of fries, and they were so tasty! I normally don't pick fries in case they're more chunky chips but these were just right, tasty and full of flavour! Only thing food/drink wise that bothered me was the coke, it was loaded with ice and tasted more soda-water then coke. Overall 3/5 - If we come again during a less busy period in the future we'll see a higher review. We did pay in full for our drinks and food and polite to the staff after our long wait time.

We have been to andwhynot on a few occasions in the last couple of months and I can honestly say it is one of the best venues in Mansfield for a really nice meal. Most recently we visited for Sunday lunch and were served by Clara and the team. All the staff are really friendly and attentive. We ordered three of the duo meat combos and the other person in our party ordered the vegan pie and we can all confirm the food was delicious. On previous occasions I have ordered the trays and burgers which are just awesome! I’m never disappointed by the food here and I always leave very happy. The venue itself is very nice, clean and inviting. It has a steampunk element to it, and it looks quirky, but homely. Personally, I would prefer the music to be a little bit louder in the main dining room as when it does get busy, you can hear a lot of people talking over one another, so the music being a little bit louder would help drown that noise out, but that’s just personal preference. It’s a really nice atmosphere, and I would recommend this venue to anyone for sure. Thank you team andwhynot for never letting us down!

Booked for a large party in a Friday night. Communication was excellent and they were excellent managing the dreaded splitting of the bill. Food ranged from pizza and calamari to a pulled lamb shepherds pie (which I had, and was excellent) all the food was great, well cooked and tasty. Service was attentive, super helpful and happy. Would book for a big party again!

Really good curry and good evening meal. Clean restaurant. The garlic and cheese Naan was amazing. Reasonably priced too. Plenty of choice on the menu. Not easy to park nearby. Would definitely recommend a visit.

where do I start ? nearly waited an hour for it to be served, which was cold when it came out as well. very bland no taste husbands sizzling tandoori mix grill was cold but the tray was hot ???? prawns texture was like mush and supposed to be king prawns but they were tiny little pieces ? both of our naans were cold at the bottom of them and didn't taste nice. just a general customer service was lacking and when the chap asked if we enjoyed our meal my husband said no not rarely and he didn't even question why ????? just hoping to God that I'm going to be okay tonight as I can already feel it sitting right up near my windpipe 🥵

Ordered many times from here and it’s always delivered quickly, still hot and full of flavour. Would recommend highly to anyone in the area.

Had an achari and a bhuna and unfortunately they both tasted the same - excessive amounts of ghee and MSG or salt appear to have been used and that's all you could taste. Acharis are supposed to contain pickled ingredients and there was no pickle flavour coming through at all. Food and drink were also expensive - mains, poppadoms, and one drink each for two came out at over £60. Would recommend the nearby Modhu Mitha or The Chand as the food is far better and much better value for money.

I meet a friend here because it’s half way between the two of us every other month. We have been twice and the food is great , the service is very good and the ambience is just how you want it to be able to chat and hear each other . Can’t fault .

Been here many times over the years for lunch and dinner. Had dinner here recently on the special £21.99 menu, had chicken chat to start, lamb tikka for main with rice and upgrade to keegan nan instead of plain. Absolutely mouthwatering and delicious. Didn't have desert or coffee. They did bring us a shot of baileys though. Staff and service were great as always. Highly recommended

Can't comment on atmosphere as we had take out & it's been a few years since I ate in but we had a tremendous butter chicken and chicken madras with garlic naan delivered took about an hour but was hot delicious with that fruity taste poppadoms and pickle chucked in well worth the money and you'll have me as a paying customer again. One of the best Indians in Mansfield Thanks.
Joe L — Google review
The food was tasty, soft tender, cooked perfectly. The keema nan was missing meat and luke-warm. All sauces complimented the food, the sheek kebab was beautiful. All containers were leak proof, no concerns just a little more meat and warmth. Onion bhaji weren't cooked enough, still powdery texture.

Rima and Faz are amazing friendly hosts. The service from staff is great. We've been here three times now and try a different dish each visit. The food it excellent. I highly recommend you try this place. They also do takeaway which seems to be a very busy part of their business. Please give this place a try you'll be amazed.

Overpriced and Underwhelming Delivery We ordered delivery and were left seriously disappointed. We paid £55 for two curries, two sides, two breads, papadoms, and rice — and honestly, the quality did not justify the price. The curries and sides were just okay, nothing memorable — about 3 stars at best. The bread was especially poor: dry, tough, and lacking any real flavor. Even the papadoms were bland. For a £55 meal, we expected something far better. Overall, the food felt more like takeaway quality at fine-dining prices. Wouldn’t order again or recommend.

The service team were so friendly and helpful. It felt like a cosy, family-run business. We were well looked after and the food was great. Lots of options, even for my partner who is vegan. Will certainly go again.

The food is fantastic here, the naan’s are cooked to perfection, coming from leicester I’ve had fair experience of Indian food, but I would say the this place is the best in Mansfield and I’ve tried nearly all of them. Well done to the team and chef. Krish and Michelle
