Cocktail bar
Torre Aurora, a historic building with a thousand-year-old structure, provides stunning views of Monterosso's bay and the neighboring towns of Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. The establishment offers creative cocktails like 'Message in a Bottle' and 'Saproe del Mare,' featuring unique ingredients such as pear syrup, tequila reposado, pimento, sea salt essence, and more.
Torre Aurora is an absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning coastal views — the rooftop setting is just magical, especially at sunset. It’s the kind of place that instantly puts you in vacation mode. We actually visited this restaurant twice during our trip, and both experiences were unforgettable. That alone says a lot about how special this place is. The food was outstanding — every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. You can truly taste the freshness and quality in every bite. The drinks were equally impressive — creative cocktails, a great wine selection, and everything served with style and care. The atmosphere is relaxed yet elegant, with a perfect blend of coastal charm and refined dining. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from start to finish. Whether you’re celebrating something special or simply want to enjoy a perfect evening with an ocean breeze and amazing food, Toree Aurora is a must-visit. Can’t wait to return!

This place was a great experience. Everywhere said to book a reservation but when we went late May we walked in at 6:30 no reservation and got a great table for 2. The views were really immaculate of the ocean and the town of Monterosso. Really stunning. The restaurant itself is in old ruins and the staff was very professional. We were treated with complimentary prosecco and a small bread appetizer with a small greens salad on top. Then a bread basket. We ordered the cod dish and the octopus pasta. The cod dish was very tender and good but did lack a little flavor. The octopus pasta on the other hand was very good and flavorful. Was a great dish. Service was great, food was pretty good, and the views were unbeatabale. We spent about 100 euro for two with a bottle of wine in that price.

My wife and I ate here on our stay in Monterosso during our honeymoon. The views from this restaurant are amazing! The food was excellent, the staff treated us well, and the overall experience was great. We highly recommend eating here during your stay in Monterosso.

We went to have dinner in what should have been one of the most beautiful spots in Monterosso, at the top of the hill with stunning views. Unfortunately, what began as a promising meal quickly turned into one of the worst dining experiences of my life. The restaurant was absolutely infested with mosquitoes. It wasn’t just one or two. It was an invasion!! A mosquito even landed in my glass of water, and I had to constantly protect my wine from them. I personally killed several mosquitoes at the table, and still ended up with multiple bites. Every single table around us was struggling, and another couple even told us they had already killed around 50. What makes this worse is that the staff did absolutely nothing about it. No apology, no attempt to help, no acknowledgement — just complete indifference, as if this was normal. For a fine dining restaurant (with prices to match), this is unacceptable. The location is undeniably beautiful, but never in my life have I had to fight off so many bugs while trying to enjoy a meal. It was not just unpleasant — it was truly disgusting, and it completely ruined what should have been a memorable dinner in my travel in Italy.

Oh my goodness the most incredible view of my lifetime and I am now 66 years old. Received the recommendation from a friend and made it a point to spend our afternoon at this incredible restaurant. Just soaked it in good food, friendly service and enjoyed soaking in God’s creation. If you’re on the fence of where to go in this town, you would be mistaken if you don’t choose this place for lunch or dinner!

The staff was very attentive and friendly. It was a wonderful evening with an excellent vegetable dish — perfectly cooked and I absolutely loved the sauce. I couldn’t stop dipping bread into it! The fish we had was incredibly tasty and cooked to perfection. The skin was crisped just right, and the mashed potatoes on the side paired beautifully with it. I highly recommend this place to everyone. Stay well and with love

Must go to in Monterosso. Absolutely beautiful views and exquisite food. Serviced from staff was impeccable. We’ve just come off a food and wine tour in Sardinia and Corsica and this place trumps it.

We had an excellent experience having dinner here. The food was outstanding, with very good flavours and good prepared. Excellent service from the waiters. And the view overlooking Monterosso made the evening to something to remember.

Sights & Landmarks
The Convent of the Capuchin Friars in Monterosso is situated on a hill that separates the old town from the newer Fegina quarter. The complex houses an impressive church, Chiesa di San Francesco, built in 1623 with distinct stripes. Visitors can also explore the beautiful cemetery with mausoleums dating back to the 900s, where flowers are changed weekly.
Hiked up to the monastery from Monterosso. Beautiful views. Throughout the village we saw the Cappuccini friars on errands. At the convent we heard them singing the Gregorian chants. Interesting history of this breakout group from the Franciscan Order. Humble followers living the values of Assisi.

Lovely and picturesque hike to the top of town. You'll see many discoveries around the trail! Be sure to get to the top of the San Francesco d'Assisi statue for an amazing view.

absolutely amazing place to see access is a long uphill walk but the reward at the top well worth the trip views are stunning along the way you pass a statue of St. Francis of Assisa the balcony here offers terrific photo location further along the church just oozes history a short walk further takes you to the burial vaults and small chapel

This is a must-see church in 5 terre. The hike up is easy, but under the hot summer, it can get a little uncomfortable for some. Regardless, the views from the lookout are great; and the church's interior is peaceful and well maintained. There was ambiance music - at a low volume - to add even more atmosphere.
Jose R — Google review
This a a wonderfully peaceful and serene church. When we first visited late one afternoon, there was a recording of Gregorian chants that enhanced the beauty and serenity. We have returned today for Sunday 11:15 Mass and were rewarded by choir warming up before Mass. it’s a bit of a climb as I was huffing and puffing but surely doable if you take your time and a few rest breaks. You will be rewarded for your efforts. Also, there is a Van Dyke painting in the front left chapel. Enjoy!
Daniel A — Google review
The church location offers great views, but it is important to walk in and view. The inside is very ornate and gives visitors a great feel for an old monastery in Cinque Terre. Learn about the history of the church and Friar Francis, as it is very interesting.

This convent is situated right on the top of San Cristoforo hill. It was built in 1622 and dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi. It lays in a green, quiet garden that can be reached by climbing brick and stone stairs. Once in the top, an astonishing view of Monterosso al Mare coast can be seen.

Bed & breakfast
Santuario Nostra Signora di Soviore is a centuries-old religious complex located about 4 km from Monterosso, in the picturesque setting of Cinque Terre. Founded in the 14th century with contributions from local residents, it has become a pilgrimage destination and continues to attract visitors and devotees. The beautiful church houses a valuable historical organ Agati and hosts concerts.
We had a reeeally good time here! The atmosphere is simply amazing.. I ca not put it into words.. It's like you are in another Italy.. an old one, without tourists or loud noises. The rooms are a bit retro, but if you are not expect 5 stars then its nice. BUT the most important: the food is perfect!!! And I ate there my best tiramisu ever! We will deffinetly come back :-)

Cool experience staying in a sanctuary. Rooms are spacious yet very simple, but have all you need for a comfortable night. The place has a bar and a restaurant on site that serves delicious food (we had the best tuna steak ever). Breakfast is continental with plenty of options of savoury and sweet. Coffee could be improved, but you can get a proper one from the cafe.

Arrived after walking the trail from Monterosso to find peace, tranquility and a warm welcome. Food and drinks are very reasonable and the tirrasimu is delicious. We've returned each year for three years and are looking forward to the next .

Great view. You can hike up but it’s 3 km hike with 450m elevation from the train station. The trail is clearly marked.
Kui C — Google review
Great view, food variety is big and quality really good (was not expected so), staff is friendly, location is magnificient. But rooms sre very very simple, no fan / AC in the rooms, too noisy at night since guest are just outside and eating/ drinking sometimes until midnight. Free parking 50m from hotel. Breakfast is really poor, but enough for most of us ;) Coffee quality qould have been better. No coffee machine.
F. S — Google review
The scenery is beautiful with a gorgeous view and the setting is charming. The rooms are spacious and very quiet. We enjoyed the breakfast and dinner, and the service was friendly and helpful. The only drawback was the distance from town. Generally, the free shuttle service works fine, however, if you ever want to return later than 6pm, or say you arrive to the hotel after 9am and want to explore that day, the taxi fees quickly add up at 25eu each way. All of the drivers also FLEW up and down the steep and windy roads, making some of us quite motion sick. Still, I'd say this place is a great value.
Annie A — Google review
Nice view but rooms are only good to sleep, nothing else. Bathroom was stinky. It was cold and no heating. They have a shuttle that takes you to the center, which you need to reserve (only way to go down, unless you want to pay €25 each time on a taxi) but it only goes 1 time down early and then come back around 6 pm. So, can't really enjoy night time with the family down in the city or enjoy a restaurant if you are doing any excursions or boat ride. They have a restaurant but food is not as cheap and they do not have that many options. The old lady at the front who is not very friendly and have an attitude, asked us to give her our room key when we went out. Never seemed a place who does that.
Anyelina N — Google review
This place is quite an experience. Rooms are very basic, nothing luxurious, however the sense of tranquility and peace that you experience at this place is incredible. The food in this place in INCREDIBLE….everything is home made. If you like hiking there is an amazing trail in the property that will take you to Monterrosso-cinque terre. The service is amazing! Everyone in this place is so friendly. The location is very strategic to travel to Cinque Terre. If you are not an experienced driver …DO NOT DRIVE these roads, they are very narrow, scary and dark at night. If you decide to dive you can park your car at one of the parking lots there for 20€ a day or 2.50€ an hour. Super convenient!

Miky is a restaurant located in Monterosso al Mare, Italy, offering inventive takes on Cinque Terre dishes and regional wines. The elegant and understated space provides a perfect setting to enjoy the high-quality ingredients used in their dishes. Additionally, the large outdoor area offers exceptional views that add to the dining experience. Visitors can expect a wide selection of white wine, prosecco, and beer to complement their meals.
We ordered 2 dishes, one is the starter with mixed seafood, the other is the fish with salt crust. Both taste delicious. When they served the fish, I thought it was a good presentation as they removed the salt crust and all the bones of the fish with patience. They also spend effort to split the starter and fish to two plates so me and my wife can share. Food price is on the high side as it is located in the Conque Terre and they also charge 10 Euro per person for the station fee. All in all. We are satisfied.
Craig H — Google review
Everything was great about this restaurant, we also got some foods and desserts on the house which was a great gesture. The food was amazing, we got the salted baked fish and pesto pasta which were both wonderful. One part the could have been better was the desserts, we got the pistachio cream and chocolate cake which were not as great as the food; however, the overall experience was great and the staff were really attentive and friendly. Looking forward to go back and try more of their delicious food.
Reyhaneh A — Google review
The menu hosted a variety of dishes featuring local ingredients. The anchovies prepared in multiple forms really brought forward the amazing flavor of the fish. We had the pesto gnocchi and anchovy spaghetti and both dishes were exceptionally fresh and filled with bold flavors! Definitely would recommend for tourists visiting Monterosso!
Math — Google review
This restaurant should be taken off all guides. The food experience was between negative and mediocre. One waiter was very friendly, others were giving off a vibe of wanting to go home. We ordered two pasta dishes. One of them was supposed to have a fancy presentation, setting the dough on fire. Unfortunately by husband wasn’t able to witness it as the waiter did it behind the bush. 😂 My seafood pasta was massively over salted, and had 5 clams in total. For 36 EUR per pasta dish I would have expected at least something that tastes good or is made from home made pasta, which wasn’t the case. We didn’t dare to try dessert because anything till that point was massively disappointing. The serving plates looked pretty, which was the only nice thing about this restaurant.
Daria B — Google review
Everything was really good and you can tell this restaurant is aspiring to more than just a mention in the Guide Michelin. We hade a selection of seafood dishes and they were all great. However, I must say that the bread for the table at the start of the meal was frankly quite stale. I have been to many star restaurants and honestly, you won’t make a star with that bread being served. Either skip it all together (since they serve some amuse bouche which were lovely) OR bake some fresh bread in the morning and don’t serve stale leftovers 😉 We are considering going back for lunch again day after dinner because it was really good so the bread point is just a suggestion to elevate the experience further! Highly recommend anyone to come here!
Kolla L — Google review
Go to any other place but here, I hate to say it but the hype and reviews are not honest. With it being a Michelin star restaurant we thought it would measure up to its name and it sadly disappointed, we started with a soggy chip in the shape of a clam with salsa, and beeswax with Chex looking crackers and then for an appetizer we got canned tomato tasting soup with scallops and my husband got over cooked rabbit with and I the cold but very nicely presented pasta with no taste but salt…hard to give them a nice critique other than our server was nice and it hurt to tell them the whole experience was underwhelming, we loved Barabba and for a fraction of the price
Paulina P — Google review
One of the best dinner experiences I have ever had. Beautiful and delicious food, attentive staff, amazing and creative intermezzos. This is fine dining with a cool atmosphere, rather than too buttoned up and stuffy. This is also fine dining without the high price point - everyone in my group thought our bill was wrong because it was so inexpensive compared to what we usually pay for that experience and service in the US. Wish we had time in our travels to fit in another meal here, but we opted to try their sister restaurant, Radici, which is located up the mountain at their farm where they grow their own veggies and make their own olive oil (also amazing). Miky is a must if you are in Cinque Terre, and I would recommend it as a destination restaurant for anyone traveling in Italy.

If you want to explore local cousine, this restaurant will cover every bit of tradition in an amazing way. It is very cosy inside and also has 2 terraces for those who prefer sitting outside. You will have trouble choosing from the menu - it is yhat good - but if it helps: homemade pasta w. pesto is to die for, as well as rabbit ragu. We paid 120 euros for lunch for 2 persons, including a glass of their local wine (10euros per glass, pinot noir). Very pleasant service & everyone speaks english really well.

Ristorante L'Ancora della Tortuga is a charming clifftop venue with a nautical theme and stunning sea views. Nestled in a World War II bunker on the cliffside, this restaurant offers traditional Ligurian cuisine, including homemade pasta dishes and seafood specialties. The seven-course tasting menu is a popular choice, while the spaghettini with anchovies and beef filet with lardo di Colonnata are highly recommended.
Start with the view. We had al fresco seating right at the waters edge (on a cliff, of course). This is how it starts. And then it just gets better. We were a larger group, so we had several of the menu options. Some of us split with others, some just shared. The risotto with prawn was wonderful, and the scallops were amazing. Wines were very good too :) I took a star off the service only because this dining area is up stairs from the restaurant itself. The waitstaff gets a lot of step climbing in running up and down. But there were periods of time where no staff was available if something was needed and they really just need one more person to make it perfect.
Jim E — Google review
We had a tremendous experience there. Sadly it was a Saturday and they didn’t have a place for us on the GORGEOUS terrace, but we found the inside very rustic, clean and charming. Service was excellent, they even had a high chair for our baby (the cleanest we’ve seen on our trip) and the staff was extremely helpful with us. The food itself was also excellent, we had 2 pasta dishes that were among the best we tried on our trip. The nonna’s truffle tagliatelle was quite memorable. Highly recommend, but make sure to have a reservation to get the view as a bonus!!

We celebrated my wife’s birthday at L’Ancora della Tortuga in Monterosso al Mare and had an exceptional experience from start to finish. Our hotel recommended the restaurant, and we are so glad they did. The staff could not have been more professional or accommodating. Our waiter, Filippo, provided truly top-notch service, attentive, kind, and perfectly paced. We asked for a local white wine and the team selected a blend that was one of the best we have ever had. Dinner was outstanding. We followed the staff’s recommendations and started with the foie gras, the best I have ever tasted. I did not know it could be that good. For mains, we enjoyed the evening’s special seafood spaghetti and a pesto risotto with shrimp, both cooked perfectly and bursting with fresh, delicate flavor. They even brought out a dessert with a candle for my wife to blow out, which made the evening even more special. We were also able to meet and thank the chef for the wonderful meal, a generous touch that meant a lot to us. Between the stunning cliffside setting, the impeccable service, the unforgettable food and wine, and the warm hospitality, this was a meal we will be talking about for years. Highly recommend.

We had high expectations for our meal here but in the end was disappointed, especially given the Michelin recommendation. It started well enough with the bread service - they had a popover type bread that was delicious. Asked for sparkling wine by the glass but the first two they were out of. Then tried for three different red wines by the glass and they were out of those too. Ordered pasta with mushrooms and no cheese but it came covered in cheese and had to send it back. When it came back it was buried in butter. My wife’s anchovies and my Ligan fish course were really tasty so that was great. The servers were working their butts off but they had way too many tables to cover per person so a lot of waiting around. An incredible location by the seaside - very romantic. Just didn’t come together - can clearly see the potential - just not their night.
Andrew K — Google review
Amazing location — sadly it was too windy so we had to sit inside, but the outdoor seating overlooking the view must be incredible on a calmer day. We ordered the shrimp risotto, which was outstanding, and the seafood pasta, which was good as well but not as exceptional as the risotto. For dessert we had the chocolate cake, which was delicious. Highly recommend this place!
Ines C — Google review
Beautiful views and great food! Seafood pasta (special) was delicious. Great flavor and freshness from the seafood. The basil cream pesto risotto was one of the best pestos we had in Italy. Unfortunately our night got cut short by a ton of flies flying all over. Hundreds would land on us and the food. It was super annoying. We decided to forgo the second course and leave early. The tables around us did the same. Such a shame our meal was cut short but it was crazy how bad it was. 100% reservation required. Food is pretty expensive since you pay for the view
Pat Z — Google review
The location and restaurant incredibly beautiful. Unfortunately, for this restaurant that definitely got motion star two years ago. I understand why they haven’t gotten one since. The front of the house was very disorganized and to me seem like a bunch of teenagers. They really have very little experience and food service. The food was amazing, which is really sad because it just shows you how that less than excellent service can really affect your entire impression of a place no matter how beautiful it is and how good the food is. The owner really needs to invest in some quality in front of our staff and this place could excel.

The La Cantina Di Miky is a casual Italian restaurant that overlooks the beach in Cinque Terre. The Defina family runs the restaurant and it has a youthful, personal feel. The wife had the Pesto Lasagna and she said it was fantastic - exactly what she was looking for. Service was good but not great, especially given how busy it was. The staff were knowledgeable about Ligurian wines.
This place is a MUST if you are in Montorosso. The outside patio view is beautiful but the inside is just as vibrant and the fun chic atmosphere is fantastic. Christina was our waiter and she was amazing! I also believe she is part owner since this is a family restaurant and affiliated with their michelin star rated restaurant down the street. The food was probably the best i have ever had at an establishment. The tasting menu is fun, unique, more than just one little bite so it is very filling and definitely worth trying. You need a reservation so be sure to make that. We had our 1 yr old and 4 yr old with us and they had a high chair, cup, bib, and dinner wear for her which was so thoughtful. They also made sure to get their orders first thing (half order of plain butter and red sauce pasta) and they came out so quickly which i really appreciated. All this to say please please don’t pass this place up when you visit here!

Nice view, decent place, very nice service. The food for the meal, though very good and tasty was a very small portion, especially after hiking the whole day. I'd recommend taking atleast 2 meal on the menu (outside dessert). Now... let's talk about dessert, tldr it was awful. I was expecting to finish dinner on a good note but the dessert was very tiny and not tasty at all. Felt like eating air, nothing sophisticated in it, worst dessert ever actually. 45 each for meal+dessert

Perfect spot in Monterosso, we stopped by for wine and desserts but we saw the rest of the tables servings of mains, they looked so good. Its unfortunate that we did not get to try but basing on their quality of desserts and good service, im sure their food is to die for. The service staffs are fun and helpful too! They were having some troubles with some patrons but handled it with a smile and alot of patience.

2 words…. THE BEST! We went 2 days in a row because the food was incredible. The waiter is such a nice guy and he’s not a waiter that puts on a fake smile and try to be nice he was from himself a very polite, kind and respectful person. I ordered “pasta pesto” and it was so delicious! Wine I ordered local white wine, it was 9/10. The day after local rosé wine and it was 10/10 With everything it’s a 10/10

The server Stephen(not sure if that’s how your spell) was fantastic! He was very friendly and conversational. This was our first dinner in Cinque Terre without a reservation at 4pm and it did not disappoint. The pesto pasta, anchovy tasting, and creme brûlée was delicious 😋 Also- my fiancé was in love with their Americano, that he ordered twice!

We went to Cantina di Miky twice over two days in Monterosso, and it (along with Radici, also by owner Miky) were our favorite restaurants in Monterosso! The food is fabulous — after endless pasta & pizza in Italy, their salad was a delicious & necessary injection of some vegetables in our diet, and their special blue crab sauce with homemade pasta, calamari & fusilli with ragú were INCREDIBLE. Their Aperol Spritzes were also way better than any other we’ve had in Italy. Anything you order at this place will be outstanding. But the best part about La Cantina di Miky is the service — the wait staff make the experience. They were the reason we came back and will remember this place long after our honeymoon ends. Steve has the BEST energy and attitude! You’ll love your meal there - get a table by the water, and enjoy enjoy!

Beautiful waterfront restaurant with delicious food, great service with a detailed explanation of every item ordered and also wonderful humour, and a wide selection of items. We tried the anchovy sampler (i love anchovies!) and it was delicious. Make a reservation because it can get busy. It is affiliated with their Michelin rated restaurant down the street.

I wanted to but I couldn’t love La Cantina Di Miky. The whole way they operate with the 4 preset menus feels a bit weird and from the beggining feels that you’re almost forced to eat one of them to have a good experience. We felt pressured by the waiter and got very little explanation regarding a non-tasting menu. We ended up doing two different tasting menus and the food itself was pretty good but quite overpriced in my opinion. We ate indoors and the whole vibe and ambiance of the place was a little bit off, with music and service that didn’t really match the Michelin prices being charged for non-Michelin food. You could definitely do better in Cinque Terre!

Ristorante Ciak is a charming trattoria located in the historical center of Monterosso Vecchio. The restaurant offers a lively street terrace where diners can enjoy octopus, scampi, seafood pasta, and grilled fish. The reasonably priced lunch and dinner entrees feature homemade gnocchi with pesto, seafood spaghetti, and spaghetti ciak.
Our hotel recommended this restaurant when we checked in and we decided to check it out after looking at the menu. We were seated inside on top of the wine cellar (you can see into the wine cellar from above which is very cool!) and ordered a half bottle of a local wine, which was delicious. A word of caution here: Everyone is required to order an entree of some sort, so I would not recommend coming here if you aren’t that hungry. Our table ordered the grilled fish, the baked fish, and two of the pastas, and for the fish entrees we were able to pick which fish we wanted. The fish was cooked well and the waiters prepared it for us/removed the head. The seafood spaghetti was good, not great, but it was definitely a generous portion! For dessert, we had to try the lemon tart, and that was delicious — not overly lemon, and the crust was nice and buttery. The fish entrees were on the pricier side, but everything was generously portioned and cooked well. We really enjoyed our meal!

Her masaya zeytinyağı bazlamak sirke getirenler bize getirmedi. Bunun dışında gnocchi with pesto sauce 3.5/5, spaghetti with pesto sauce 3/5’ti. Fiyatlara göre hizmet ve lezzet sınıfta kaldı. EN/ The only restaurant I gave 3 points to during my 10-day Italy vacation. They tell you to wait even though there are empty tables. I want to attribute this attitude to your tiredness. They are not polite. There is a mandatory first or second dishes section on the menu. If you give good service and are polite in return, you will not have done anything wrong. By the way, the Cinque Terre region is not like Italy. You cannot see the friendliness in Milan and especially Florence in the establishments here. Those who bring olive oil and vinegar to every table did not bring it to us. Apart from that, gnocchi with pesto sauce was 3.5/5, spaghetti with pesto sauce was 3/5. Service and taste were not good considering the prices. IT/ The only restaurant I gave 3 points to during my 10-day Italy vacation. They tell you to wait even though there are empty tables. I ordered the seafood spaghetti. Spaghetti was gritty, found a Clam Sand Bomb! Clamshell was thick with sand! Server swapped dish with another and apologised which was nice. Talked to Manager and he apologised. I asked if they could comp, he said only the sandy dish. I said I felt bad because they served me sand which I had eaten, he told me they check but sometimes this happens… really?! He then said sand wasn’t bad for the body… maybe not but they fed me sand which wasn’t on the menu! He offered a free beer which I don’t think was enough to help me feel redeemed. Perhaps sharing my experience here will. Seeing here that the place is a 3 star makes me feel better lol, I’m not the only one who had a bad experience here

This restaurant is the gem in Monterosso. We tried on our first night and third night and still can’t get over the deliciousness. We love how passionate the Chef Luigi (better known as Ciak) working non stop to ensure everything is best for their customers. It was also nice to know the story of the hat on his logo relates to Vietnam back in 1970s. We wish Luigi and the crew at Ciak all the best health and success. We will be back.

Nice restaurant serving mainly seafood. Ravioli was fine, not very generous servings, and all too efficient. Waiters/ waitresses obviously not enjoying themselves. One toilet for a big place so queuing. Wouldn’t rush back frankly.

We were twice at this restaurant, and each time were pleased with the dishes and service. The tapas was surprisingly delicious and consisted of a mix of sea fruits (anchovies, octopus, cod, stuffed mussels, and fish), both warm and cold. The main courses were plentiful and tasty. The staff was helpful and attentive. I have read the other reviews, both positive and negative, but our experience at Ciak was great.

Gnocchi was great. Everything was cooked well and tasted lovely. Be forewarned all the shellfish is cooked shell on and you'll need to do all the removal. Staff was very attentive even though they were super busy. They couldn't have been better. Drinks were lovely as well. If you can enjoy the outdoor seating, there's a peak of the water and your in the beautiful town.

Belforte is a renowned restaurant in Vernazza, one of the picturesque Cinque Terre villages. Nestled among vineyards and olive groves, this traditional Ligurian restaurant has been serving delectable seafood and locally grown vegetable dishes for over 50 years. Perched on the cliffs with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean sea, Belforte offers an unforgettable dining experience.
I think this was the best food we’ve had on the trip! Waiter was so funny and personable, and his suggestions were fantastic. Super cautious for allergens too, we felt very safe. And the view was unbeatable!

We did not have a reservation during the dinner rush and in just a few minutes we had a table on the upper level with the most magical view. The mussles, the pesto pasta, and the whole fish with potatoes was one of my favorite meals of all time! The service was responsive ans not pushy. They were very polite and supportive as well!

The location is very good with spectacular view of sunset. The service is very nice and friendly. The food is OK for me. Baked fish is a bit bland. Pesto pasta is delicious. Squid salad is good.

Five of us ate here yesterday on October 2, 2025. I made the reservation the day before on their website and I got an email identifying that a deposit of €15 per person was required before it could be confirmed. It also said that a separate email would be sent along with a bill so that I could pay the deposit. Unfortunately, I never got that billing email, but I had hoped that the reservation was still in place because the reservation was made on such short notice. As you may have guessed already, when we got there they did not have a table reserved for us. I showed them the email I received with all of the details listed, but she told me that it was simply a request and that it was not a real confirmation until the deposit was made. I told her that I never got an email asking for the deposit and she just shrugged and told me that she would see what she could do. Thankfully, they managed to get us a table with a nice view, so I am only providing this information as a caution to others to ensure that they reach out to them if the billing email never arrives. Please know that this deposit is only required for groups larger than four people. In order to get to the restaurant you have to climb a steep set of stairs that should not be too difficult unless you have mobility issues. The service and views are wonderful, and the food was good, but not great. It is also a bit more expensive than other restaurants in Italy for what you get, but I think that it is inherent when dining in such a tourist area. As an example, we got a Bruschette starter and it has three fairly large pieces of bruschette and I believe the price was €18. All of the seating is outside and has some sort of view of the water or harbor. They do have an indoor dining area, but it does not look like they seat people there as there is zero view of the sea. Overall, it was a good experience and I would say it is worth the visit!

Perfect. Not a tourist trap. You may fear that, given the perfect location. It is a fine restaurant. Delicious food. Great wine. Charming service. The location and view are spectacular. Take the standard staircase with steps up. Not the ramp. Once up at the dining level, you then walk around and then down one flight to a meaningfully sized interior room. This is where you will find the host with the reservation list. Reservations are highly recommended and they are only taken over the phone. If you don’t speak Italian, you can rehearse a simple script ahead of time. I spelled it out phonetically. Easy. If you are lucky, you will get Andrea as your waiter. He is extremely knowledgable and charming. We were given a very special table. We enjoyed a leisurely two hour lunch of three courses with an amazing view and cooling breezes. Highly recommended.

It was a rainy night so we were unable to dine outside however it turned out to be a most magical and memorable night for us all.The food and wine were fabulous and above all the welcome we received, the wonderful service and incredible kindness outshone everything. During the evening we were introduced to other guests which was so much fun resulting in great conversation and a lot of laughs. To end the evening we were invited to drinks around the bar with the beautiful owner and her staff. Thank you for making this an evening we will never forget ❤️❤️❤️

My wife and I came here to celebrate our 30th anniversary and it was absolutely magical. Andrè our waiter was hilarious and super nice and helpful. We ordered the quick ink pasta and grilled seafood…they were both AMAZING!!! The view was astounding and the atmosphere was first class. Also, the house red wine was delicious.
