Farmers Markets
Altrincham Market is a vibrant hub that beautifully blends culinary delights with local craftsmanship. Nestled next to the historic 19th-century covered market, this Grade II listed venue has undergone an impressive transformation, making it one of Greater Manchester's top foodie destinations. Inside, you'll find a bustling food hall featuring independent vendors like Honest Crust, known for its woodfired pizzas; Tender Cow, specializing in rare breed steaks; and Sam Joseph’s exquisite handmade chocolates.
Loved the market! Lots of little shops with clothes, jewelry and flowers. There is also a bakery that had very tasty bread and pastry. Right next door is a food court to sit down and eat with a variety of choices.

Fantastic place, lots of food and drink stalls surrounding a central seating area. Lots of seating outside as well as in. We had a Portobello pizza from Honest Crust and it was great, traditionally made in a pizza ovan. My partner had a pint of Hells German lager which he said was good. I had mango cider but wasn't thrilled, it wasn't wasted as he drank it 😅

This has to be one of the cutest food markets I’ve visited. What really stood out was the water station, they had taps with clean jars, glasses, and even a whole bucket of ice, which you don’t often see in London food markets. I tried food from the stall in the picture, and the flavours were really good (a pleasant surprise since Mexican food often gets butchered here). The only downside was that the portions were on the smaller side.

Absolutely fabulous place! Don’t expect cheap food but do expect fantastic quality, delicious grub and a buzzing atmosphere. And all with your best friend under the table (and the dog! 😂). We love it here!

A vibrant hub in Altrincham, this Grade II listed market blends history with modern flair. The indoor Market House features independent food vendors like Honest Crust for wood-fired pizzas, Tender Cow for rare breed steaks, and Sam Joseph for handmade chocolates. The outdoor market offers a mix of fresh produce, homeware, and crafts. It's a popular spot, especially on weekends, so expect a lively atmosphere. The market has contributed to Altrincham's revitalisation, making it a must-visit for food lovers and shoppers alike.

Fab place. Had a lovely coffee bought some honey cashew nuts and a canoli. Lovely people too. Good stalls. Could do with a few more stalls inside as it did look like some were empty. Overall nice.

Altrincham market has a special atmospher that oozes good vibes and good times. the food is simple classics dine well, not the most sophisticated food in the world, but its tasty and delightfull all the same, with something for everyone. There are some nice artisan beers and wines for sale which slide down like silk. For me its all about the atmospher and is best shared with loved ones and friends. Overall one of the best eating experiences in south Manchester and highly recomended.

It is an excellent place to visit for coffee and artisan produce. Bread, pies, coffee, cake, beer, pizza, and more. Communal seating area for all of the stalls. Can get very busy. Highly recommended

Performing arts theater
Nestled in the heart of Altrincham, The Altrincham Garrick Playhouse has been a beloved cultural hub for over a century. This charming theatre showcases an impressive array of performances, from classic plays to contemporary musicals and side-splitting comedies. With its commitment to amateur drama, the quality of productions rivals that of larger venues but at much more accessible prices. This autumn is particularly exciting as it features the world amateur premiere of 'Corrie!'
What a fabulous show! The Garrick's are always good but this was outstanding, even better than The Palace one. Just a pity the theatre was so hot..maybe leave the AC on for the rest of the run?
Anne M — Google review
The most lovely theatre with amazing staff! Everyone was so friendly and approachable, the seats in the theatre were so comfy, and there was a good view from wherever you sat in the theatre. The performance we saw was spectacular! Special mention to Bev who was the most lovely front of house serving us coffees and really interacting with my son as he’d come in costume. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Richard K — Google review
This is a small provincial theatre on the outskirts of Altrincham town centre. Car spaces at the theatre itself are limited. Facing the Garrick, you drive down the side of the building which opens out into the car park. IMHO, the car park is totally inadequate for the theatre. Streets and roads around the Garrick are either plagued with double yellow lines or have other parking restrictions. The few areas where parking is available, are covered by parking payment machines. If you want to have any chance of being able to park at the theatre - I'm guessing here - you have to be there a good 45-60 minutes earlier. And for someone who has a Blue Badge, like my wife, disabled spaces are a lottery! I had to drop my wife right outside the Garrick and go and search for a parking space. It took the best part of 15 minutes, but I eventually found a space several hundred metres from the theatre. This is most definitely not a theatre to visit when it's jam packed and sweltering in the middle of the summer. My wife and I went to the Garrick to see our granddaughter dance. (And very good she was too...only moderately biased, of course!). We had great seats - or so we thought - right in the middle of the aisle in the centre of the theatre. The older chap sitting next to me was quite large and was leaning into me. With no air circulating, it was impossible to breathe. So I moved out and sat on a step in the aisle. Of course it didn't take very long before one of the attendants said I couldn't sit there. I explained the situation that it was impossible to breathe in my seat and held my ground. I asked her if there was any air conditioning. Of course not! How about opening some doors to let the air circulate? Can't do that, the manager doesn't like it. Stuff it then, I'm staying where I am! She then offered me a seat in the middle of the back row or on the disabled row. Miracle of miracles, three seats right in front of me on the aisle were empty because the people hadn't turned up. I wonder if they knew something I didn't! Anyway, as I said, my granddaughter was the highlight of the evening. The lesson to be learned is that if we go to the Garrick again, I will only get aisle seats. If you're planning on going to the Garrick Theatre allow plenty of time for parking and bear in mind that seating and ventilation is challenging.

Went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with my 5 year old and partner. We all found it fantastic - from the comedians to the decors, the songs, everything was absolutely perfect!! We have recently seen Mathilda in London and to be honest we liked Charlie better! The theatre room is good, the seats are comfortable, and you can see very well from everywhere.
Julie L — Google review
Absolutely superb! I’ve seen this play done professionally and I have to say we enjoyed this even more because the cast were not only superb but they were obviously loving every minute!!
Sandy L — Google review
Went to see STUART MICHAEL. Would definitely recommend! It was my first ever show of this kind. It was packed out! Would suggest getting there at least half hour before any show starts to get a carpark space behind the theatre.

Beautiful: The Carole King Musical was absolutely incredible. The lead who played Carole was sensational – a true star in the making! Her performance was moving, powerful, and utterly captivating. I feel so lucky to have such a talented local theatre on our doorstep, producing shows that are genuinely West End-worthy. A huge well done to the entire cast and crew.
Lucie Y — Google review
Just watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with my 5, almost 6, year old granddaughter and it was absolutely fantastic, definitely the best thing I’ve seen in a local theatre. The props, the acting, the singing, would not have been out of place at the Palace in Manchester. Well done 👏👏👏

Restaurant
The Con Club in Altrincham is a popular dining and drinking venue with a rich history as a working men's Conservative club. After extensive restoration, it now offers classic meat and seafood dishes, sushi, and its own micro-brewery in a modern industrial setting. The two-floor venue features an outdoor heated terrace, an intimate roof garden with a rooftop tipi, and a vibrant atmosphere perfect for evening gatherings.
It was my first time visiting with friends and loved it. The food and drinks were delicious and the staff were really warm and friendly. Felt like a great place to be.
Siobhan S — Google review
Although the food we had was delicious, I really felt the service wasn't up to scratch. We constantly had to grab attention of waiters passing by - even to take the order. They don't take time to listen to you or ask if you'd like anything else - example they put the food down and legged it without asking if we needed condiments then we spent the next 10 minutes trying to grab someone rushing by to ask for mustard. The atmosphere is also loud and canteen-like. Overall we did enjoy the food but adding a 13% service charge when the service wasn't great has put me off.
PrimaLash L — Google review
The food was okay but the service was excellent. We loved the generous amount of mussels in garlic sauce and the tender scampi. I liked the chicken supreme but the rest of our food was just okay.
S M — Google review
We dropped in to the Con club on a very busy Father’s Day and managed to get a table in the bar. As it was a Sunday there was the ubiquitous lunch on offer plus Sushi/ Sashimi and a selection of ‘crowd pleasing ‘ dishes. We ordered Dragon rolls with side of fries to share and pints of Shindigger. The service was quick and basic as we ordered/ paid at the bar during to our table location. The Dragon rolls were tasty and of high quality however the fries were a let down- frozen, not great and a little stingy. The music was loud in the bar area and antisocial probably one of the reasons the area was empty. I understand it was a busy shift but the whole place could do with a deep clean and a little more love. We ate and left quickly. The outside terrace is a nice space and not too busy. £51 for 2

I came for a Sunday roast and then again for some drinks when I ended up having a dessert and both experiences were so lovely. The staff are amazing and attentive. And the food was delicious. I can’t wait to return

I enjoyed a nice breakfast with my daughter, the waiter was polite and friendly, the food good. What I was not expecting was to see on my receipt that I had been charged without any warning, for an "optional gift tree" and "optional 12% service charge". This was charged to me and not "optional" at all, which tells me that it is deliberate false pretences. You should not be taking money under false pretences.

Brunch restaurant
Blanchflower is a delightful bakery and kitchen that offers a wonderful selection of sourdough bread and delectable brunch and lunch options. The cafe boasts its own freshly made produce, featuring dishes like sausage and egg focaccia sandwiches, eggs benedict, ham and eggs, among others. With its charming interiors including beautiful tiling and dusky pink velour, Blanchflower has quickly become an Instagram favorite in the Altrincham food scene.
I've been here twice, absolutely amazing food both times. The first time I got the Turkish eggs which were amazingly delicious with nice soft bread served alongside. The second time I got a lunch dish, the black garlic gnocchi with artichokes. It was absolutely delicious. I hadn't expected that much flavour from a vegetarian dish but it was mind-blowing from the first bite. Chef Emily and Chef Danny are geniuses in the kitchen, I've never had food so good before! Service was brilliant, my server Grace was so friendly and I didn't have to wait for a seat either time. The restaurant is quite busy because the food is so good, but if you do have to wait it's well worth it. I'll definitely be back for more, the food was worth every penny.

Many people were waiting in line to dine in, so we opted for takeaway instead. The staff was polite, and the café was very pet-friendly and child-friendly, which was a nice touch. The coffee was decent but nothing particularly special. The selection of baked goods was somewhat limited, possibly because the takeaway options were fewer than the dine-in choices.
Belle D — Google review
Absolutely delicious breakfast!! Loved the sweetcorn fritters and especially the red pepper sauce it was served with, good coffee too. Only small dissapoinment was that I ordered potato rostis as an add on and only got 1 for £2.5 instead of the listed 2. But it was delicious and the fritter stack was huge which made up for it.

Super delicious breakfast & brunch! The place is great for a breakfast, good selection, the service is very friendly and the food is delicious! I ordered a mushroom and egg forcaccia. It looked a bit plain but oh my god it tasted amazing! The mushrooms were huge and I don't know what they used to make them so flavorfull. Just amazing! My friend ordered the egg, baby spinach, salmon sourdough with coriander pesto which was also great. I also had the tea with liquorice and elderberry, which tasted great, not too much like liquorice and comes in a small pot, so you get about 3 cups of tea. We also had one french toast with compotte, which I also enjoyed. The toast is a bit more like cake than toast. I would defenitely come back!

Great selection for brunch. Friend had the sweetcorn fritters, said they were delicious. Mine doesn’t look exciting but it was bacon and egg on lovely soft sourdough - very nice. Will return.

Lovely people with good service. Tasty food. Good drinks. #RecommendedbySollyDj As the only non white person in this whole restaurant.. I felt a bit weird going here but I was glad the staff were lovely. I liked the fresh orange juice. The food was well presented and tasty. Would definitely go back. Parking on the road outside the market area is payable but limited to 2 hours in certain areas.

Tasty food and great service for a lovely breakfast in Altrincham. We had a really wonderful (and extremely hungover) breakfast at Blanchflower. The main event was a Breakfast Terrine from the specials menu which was absolutely divine. Made up of a layered pave hash brown filled with sausage meat and black pudding and bacon, along with a tasty sauce and gorgeous sweet onion relish. This was really divine. Along with this we had some toasted focaccia which was equally great with lovely salty butter. The restaurant was busy but we were lucky that a table was free straight away despite not booking. We really enjoyed it and would come back!

Poor overall. Nice setting and menu. Service mega basic, no check back, no interest. Lasagne tasted good but served luke warm, check back would have helped. Most apathetic interaction I've had in ages from the woman who took my payment. Lucky you're on a busy high st. Take some pride in your job - it's an amazing venue

Coffee shop
Nestled in the heart of Altrincham, Gran T's Coffee House is a delightful spot that captures the essence of comfort and warmth, reminiscent of enjoying a cozy brew at your grandmother's home. Recently, visitors have relished their midweek lunch experience here, indulging in delicious toasted cheese and bacon bloomers paired with refreshing tea and lattes. The sweet finale included an irresistible carrot cake and a scrumptious orange Jaffa muffin that left taste buds dancing with joy.
Well a true hidden gem in the centre of Altrincham. It’s so much more than a coffee shop and it starts with the earnest genuine welcome and exceptional service and the most delicious coffee range in Cheshire. If your old enough too remember Xfactor & Judges Houses 🏘️ Lauryn, Patrick and Sofia are in my top three! Their bubbly personalities and genuine passion for customers is something else. I truly being people buy people and not just the product and it’s no wonder there are so many repeat customers who are as friendly as the staff. I would like too ask the staff receive some recognition for being Ambassadors of your brand, especially my Top Three ❤️❤️❤️

A very cosy place. Choice of sofa seating and tables/chairs. Loved the place. The Caffè Latte was perfect - nice and strong, to my liking and not overly milky. Loads of choices of cakes, cookies, etc. The staff were friendly and attentive. If you are dining in, they serve the drinks your table, which is nice considering that you do not need to wait at the counter for your drink to be prepared. If you want a place for a meet up, you will not go wrong picking Gran T's Coffee House. p.s. Wall power outlets available if you need/want to charge your phone while dining in.

I’ve been visiting this coffee shop regularly for a while now, and I honestly can’t praise the team enough. You can immediately tell they take pride in their work and genuinely care about both the quality of the coffee and the experience of everyone who walks in. Oli in particular has this effortless way of making the space feel welcoming, friendly, and his attentiveness is very wholesome. He remembers people’s preferences, checks in with guests thoughtfully, and the whole atmosphere runs smoothly under his watch. The drinks are consistently excellent, the service is efficient but personal, and there’s a calm, professional energy even during an influx. If you’re looking for a spot where you’re treated like a valued regular rather than just another customer, this is 100% it. Highly recommended!

I highly recommend; I usually buy coffee from other places but this morning I decided to visit Gran T’s Altrincham branch. Such a warm and cozy atmosphere made all the better by the outstanding service I received from Lauryn. Coffee 10/10 Service 10/10 A great start to my day!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If I could give 10 stars, I would. I don’t normally leave reviews, but after visiting Grant T Coffee Shop and being served by Beth, I honestly felt compelled to. From the moment I walked in, she set a standard that every coffee shop in the country should aspire to. Beth doesn’t just serve coffee — she elevates the experience. She greeted me with the kind of warmth that makes you feel like a regular, even if it’s your first visit. Her professionalism and friendliness are perfectly balanced; she manages to be attentive without hovering, chatty without ever crossing the line into overbearing. When I couldn’t decide what to order, Beth didn’t just list menu items — she guided me through them like a sommelier walking a guest through fine wines. Her product knowledge is ridiculous — she described the flavour profiles of different roasts, recommended a blend that suited my taste exactly, and even explained how the grind affects the flavour. You could tell she’s passionate about what she does and genuinely cares that customers leave happy. The coffee she made was, hands down, the best I’ve ever had from this shop — perfectly balanced, the milk textured like velvet, and the presentation looked straight out of an Instagram advert. But it wasn’t just the drink that made the experience memorable; it was Beth’s energy, her attention to detail, and the effortless way she ran the counter even during the rush. I watched her handle multiple customers with grace and efficiency, remembering orders, names, and even small details from previous visits. You don’t see that level of care often — it’s the kind of service that builds customer loyalty and keeps people coming back. Frankly, if there’s anyone who deserves a promotion, it’s Beth. She’s not just good at her job — she’s exceptional. She represents the brand better than any marketing campaign ever could. She’s the kind of employee every business dreams of having: reliable, engaging, professional, and passionate. So, to whoever manages Grant T Coffee Shop — if you’re reading this — please take note. Beth isn’t just making lattes; she’s creating experiences and winning you repeat customers. She’s the heart and soul of that shop, and if there’s any justice, she should be running the place by now. Thank you, Beth — for the best coffee, the best service, and the best start to my day I’ve had in a long time.

Lebanese restaurant
Mediterranean restaurant
Yara Restaurant in Altrincham is a Lebanese and Syrian eatery spread across two floors, offering a delectable array of authentic dishes. The menu features traditional Lebanese and Syrian specialties such as baba ghanoush, moussaka, lamb chops, keshkeh, lahembajeen, and walnut honey cake. Unlike many Middle Eastern restaurants, Yara allows patrons to bring their own wine or beer.
This is a lovely restaurant. Went on a Saturday night around 8pm and it was busy but not overly busy. Servers are attentive and food and drink was served quickly. The prices are very good for what you get. Added bonus is that you can take your own wine/drink in (I don’t drink however they do serve soft drinks) Food is well cooked and there’s lots of it to choose from. Went for a few small plates and a large main (Lamb Shawarma). Well worth a visit.

The restaurant looks nice, the service was good. Plenty of paid street parking available right in front of the place. The food was okay, just the amount of spice used was a bit strong for my taste, others might like. But I really enjoyed the grilled Halloumi.

Best food in altrincham, worst service in the world. I came in, waited to be seated I walked all over the place I even asked one table if they have seen any staff. They finally gave me a sit didn’t ask if I was having any drinks I had to ask and wait again. Everytime between my first soup, extreme waiting time, had my drink, extreme waiting time, had my salmon and not even close to polite they packed it to go. The waitress and the man who walked me to the table were absolutely not caring whatsoever.

No doubt the food is very good. However the size of the rooms can not handle the diners. The amount of staff cannot handle the demand of customers at the level expected. We asked for our food to be boxed when we was ready to leave. We had lots of food left. They kindly obliged. The next day we realised they did not add our salad, which had not been touched by us so a full portion still, was not boxed. Disappointed us this. When we arrived several diners waiting to be seated. We was seated late. Food arrived with a hair in it. It was exchanged but as a matter of process. No human apology or understanding. All in all quite disappointing. Hey we all have bad days right.

Fantastic place, lots of food and drink stalls surrounding a central seating area. Lots of seating outside as well as in.

Tapas bar
Spanish restaurant
Porta Tapas Bar is a charming spot located in Altrincham, offering a delightful array of Spanish flavors and wines. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with dark greens and polished wood creating a cozy atmosphere. The menu features an assortment of tapas dishes, including deep-fried goat's cheese with local honey and fresh orange, sticky ox cheek paired with pickled walnuts and fennel seeds, and broccoli served with romesco sauce.
Lovely little tapas place. In good weather it's nice to sit outside. Inside is not dog friendly so pray for good weather if you plan to come with your dog. The wines (especially the rioja) are great and all the dishes and service were excellent. I will be returning!

We got a table very fast for 2 upstairs in an alcove. Ok until the food was being served all at once! Had to eat quickly so that wasn’t ideal!! More like a fast food experience. The food was generally good though except the patatas bravas were actually alioli with some paprika sauce. Nothing “brava” about them or anything like where I live in Galicia, Spain. Once we had quickly eaten our dishes, we waited ages for the waiters to come to offer dessert. The atmosphere wasn’t Spanish, Fatboy slim playing as background music. All in all, it was ok but if you want a real Spanish tapas experience, go to San Juan in Chorlton.

Won't be rushing back, the service and presentation nothing special, food arrived separately 10 mins apart (being generous on the timing) each dish therfore couldnt compliment each other. Limited veggie options. Serving staff very lovely no fault to them. Empty tables so not particularly busy no clear why the kitchen unable to cope.

Lovely little spot with great heart ❤️ staff were excellent - friendly and knowledgeable. Food was nic but... We've had nicer tapas in Manchester (in Sale and city centre), just more flavourful. But it was a nice evening.

Very much enjoyed our Sunday afternoon trip to Porta. Fantastic tapas, each dish was awesome. We ordered Bread in oil, croquettes, prawns, potatas bravas, scallops and tenderstem broccoli. The lager on draft was cracking as well. Very relaxed atmosphere, prefect spot for people watching if you get a table outside. Staff were very friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Very reasonable price for the quality of food. Highly recommend!

Great location next to the market so on a nice day you can sit outside watching the world go by. Photos are blue cheese with pickled walnuts and honey, patatas bravas and the lamb meatballs. Staff were very pleasant.

It's a nicely decorated place, good for a light bite and drinks but not great for a main meal. The tapas portions are very small and a hit pricey. For example £7.75 for 4 King prawns is a bit miserly.

Southern Italian restaurant
Italian restaurant
Tucked away on Moss Lane in Altrincham, Tre Ciccio may seem unassuming from the outside, but it surprises visitors with a spacious dining room and a charming glass terrace. Drawing inspiration from the Campania region of Italy, this restaurant offers a taste of traditional Italian cuisine with a focus on roast meats and salads alongside familiar favorites like pizza and pasta. The name "Tre Ciccio," meaning three chubby friends, reflects the warm and inviting atmosphere created by its owners.
I attended a little bambino pizza making event in the summer holidays with my son and was impressed with the friendliness and hospitality of all the staff. My son had a great time kneading the dough and preparing his own pizza. He was very proud of the finished pizza. It was a wonderful afternoon and amazing value for money. The restaurant itself has a great atmosphere and great views. Thanks again

We chose Tre Ciccio for our wedding reception and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. Rebecca was so helpful with planning the event she even helped set up our wedding favours and made us a personalised cocktail menu. It goes without saying that the food was amazing, the service was perfect, and us and our guests had an amazing time. Thank you so much to Rebecca, Martina and the team, you made our day magical! We can't wait to be back soon ❤️

We have visited Tre Ciccio many times now and always had a great experience. The staff are super helpful, and accomodating if you have children. The food has always been delicious. Everything on the menu sounds amazing, but I always struggle to look past the pizza. Already looking forward to our next trip.

We recently had dinner at Tre Cicio, and it was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was amazing—cozy, welcoming and buzzing with good energy. The food was incredible. One of our favorite dishes was the ravioli lobster - it was out of this world! Every bite was packed with flavor, and we couldn’t stop talking about how delicious it was. The staff were super friendly and made us feel right at home. Their kindness and great service really added to the overall experience. We’re definitely planning to go back again and would highly recommend Tre Cicio to anyone looking for a great Italian meal.

WOW what a fantastic restaurant and venue. Attended a wedding here yesterday. The whole place closed for the event. Everything about it was wonderful ....from the lovely welcome to the table decorations. The welcome drinks were great, food was really delicious and plentiful, the outside / inside comfortable and the staff were wonderful (warm, friendly and helpful). The music and band were brilliant and plenty of space to dance. The atmosphere was buzzing. Thanks so much for a great day.

Really nice restaurant. Good location near the station. A beautiful terrace area but unfortunately it was raining so we didn't get the full experience. The food was superb and beautifully presented. Will be back when im in the area again

I had a truly wonderful experience at Tre Ciccio Altrincham. The atmosphere was stunning, and the whole team made the evening so enjoyable. Stefano prepared the most perfect Negroni, and Martina, along with her lovely staff, was incredibly welcoming and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious, and everything from start to finish exceeded expectations. I can’t wait to return!

We visited Tre Ciccio with a group of friends. The pizzas were beyond amazing, with a perfect blend of flavors and the freshest ingredients. The service was top-notch, attentive and friendly, my only small comment is that our order took a bit too long to arrive to us. The environment was cozy and inviting, creating a wonderful atmosphere to enjoy the delicious food. I can't wait to return!
