Nestled in the heart of the historic center, the Torre dei Templari stands as a magnificent testament to 13th-century architecture. This iconic tower, constructed by Templar monks between 1240 and 1259, offers visitors stunning panoramic views that are simply unforgettable. A notable feature is its early 19th-century clock, added under Prince Poniatowsky's direction, which showcases intricate mechanics for those who venture up.
(Translated by Google) In 1200, the Templars, during their stay in the Rocca Circea, built many fortification works to defend the Castrum. The most imposing is the Tower of the Templars. The latter, built in 1240-1259 on top of a period building Roman, it has a square base, a Guelph battlement and was built in stone. Subsequently, it was connected to the Baronial Palace. Then, in 1800, the Polish prince Stanislaus Poniatowski raised it by one floor, also adding a clock with Roman numerals. Today, the building, which overlooks Piazza Vittorio Veneto, Piazza del Convento, Piazza Luigi Lanzuisi and the panoramic terrace above the cinema, houses the "Homo Sapiens and Habitat" museum. An excellent historical reference point, which is the symbol of the historic center of Circeo. (Translated by Google) Despite being altered by subsequent additions, the Templar Tower is a symbol of an important past for the town. The name of San Felice appears in fact for the first time in 1259 in the deed which sanctions the passage of the Promontory from the Templars to the Pironti. It was the Knights of the Temple, in all probability, who gave the name "San Felice" to Rocca Circea from which the name "Castrum Sancti Felicis" was derived. The Tower was built between 1239 and 1259 with a square plan and Guelph battlements, on a Roman-era base. In 1506 the Caetani, lords of the place, raised it and a further elevation was carried out by Prince Poniatowsky between 1808 and 1822. In the adjacent Proloco you can see what remains of the ancient Templar chapel. Going around the tower you reach a small square animated by shops and restaurants: here there was the convent and cloister of the Templars, which some locals take inspiration from. Suggestive places, to be enjoyed perhaps when there are few people.

Grotta dell'Impiso, also known as the Hanging Cave, is a hidden gem accessible only by sea between Torre Paola and the San Felice Circeo cave. The cave gets its name from a leaning rock at the entrance that resembles a hanged man. Inside, visitors can admire a monolithic stalactite hanging from the ceiling. Torre Fico, also known as the Fig Tower, has a rich history dating back to 1562 when it was constructed by Pope Pius IV as a defense against Saracen piracy. Although part of the tower was destroyed over time, it was later rebuilt. The access to the path leading to the tower is somewhat hidden by vegetation and some parts have collapsed onto a private road, but visitors can still make their way there.

Grotta delle Capre, also known as the Grotto of the Goats, is a well-known and frequently visited spot in Sabaudia. It was once used by shepherds as a shelter for their flocks due to its spaciousness. The rocky road leading to the parking area may require off-road capabilities, but the trek to the grotto is safe with firm ropes available for assistance. Visitors are advised to explore the depths of the grotto with guides.
A very nice place to visit. The cave was 10min from the parking lot and very impressive. There is a stairway down that is easy to access, right before the cave it got a bit more rough. Beautiful ocean.

It’s amazing and charming place. It takes nearly 15-20 minutes to go down the “stairs” to the cave. But be careful!!!! It’s not easy to find those stairs. I’ll attach some screenshots how to find them, they’re on the parking. Everyone needs to visit this place.

Gorgeous views! The cave is also quite impressive. You do need stable walking shoes to get there because the path is very rocky and hard to navigate, though not long (takes about 20 min from the small parking lot).

Bring some light and explore the cave! The gate is closed, but as many writes: it's easy to pass. The path down is short and easy, but I would still recomend good shoes. No facilities on site.

Amazing grotto just beneath the town of San Felice Circeo. The road to the parking spot is rocky and dusty- offroad abilities beneficial. The way to the grotto is rocky, but firm ropes are available everywhere for grip and the whole trek is very safe. The view at the end is spectacular - see to it that you don't miss the nearby smaller Grotta del Fossellone either. Walks into the depths of the grotto should only be done with guides.

Il Grottino Al Porto is a charming restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere and high-quality food. It offers a breathtaking view of the harbor and serves perfectly cooked fresh fish of the day. Visitors have praised the friendly staff, delicious food, and reasonable prices. The menu provides various options, and guests have enjoyed the recommended dishes. The restaurant's setting is described as charming, making it an ideal place for a delightful lunch or early dinner.
I visited the restaurant with some friends and the service was excellent. The staff was nice and friendly and took care of us since the moment we sat down. The food was delicious and the menu has many options. They recommended us some great dishes to try. We will definitely go back again.

Serving a varieties of local seafood dishes, paired with their excellent wine; I would ask the server what pairs well with the meal and then choose from their selection. Save room for their house desert as the portion size is for two people. The dessert wines are an excellent choice if you feel like something sweet but not filling.
Peregrino — Google review
Mediocre overpriced food with shocking service. The waiter could not be bothered to explain the menu and acted annoyed when we asked them to explain the menu. He could not wait to just take our order and get on his way. Manner is basically non-existent in this restaurant. We were already at a restaurant with an Italian friend. However, if you speak Italian, think twice. If you don’t, don’t even think about coming here. On another note, we overheard some people who came to this restaurant a few years ago were also shocked by the decline in the quality of both services and food. It turns out this restaurant changed hand a few years ago and explained why there are still so many good reviews on Google map.
Eric N — Google review
Sad decline in quality of service and food since the new management took over. In addition, capricious rules about what dishes are available and when; and totally overpriced. We lament the loss of our favorite restaurant in San Felice.
My R — Google review
This place by the seaside is not bad but the devil is in the details. First up, the service was excellent and our wine was delicious. The food could be better though. My wife's spaghetti vongole was too oily, the pasta was sightly undercooked (we like Al dente, it was truly undercooked) and the clams had a lot of sand still left in them. The waiter sold me on the fresh fish which wasn't on the menu and ended up being 35€. It was really quite tasty but again, too oily. The accompanying roasted potatoes were a touch too salty. Overall it was overpriced for the quality of the food but still an enjoyable experience.
Marco B — Google review
I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking an authentic and well executed meal on the west Italian coast. The view was incredible, the staff friendly, and the food- above all- excellent and fresh. Upon placing our orders, the server motioned us towards the back of the restaurant and showed us what fish we would be eating (sea bass), also presenting us with available substitutes. Twenty minutes later, he came back and showed us the preparation before deconstructing the fish and plating in front of us. Overall, a wonderful dining experience.

I was visiting my italian friend, who took me to this place one afternoon to have an early dinner. Food was amazing, our server was very nice (even though i didn't understand a lot of what he was saying i could conclude that he was trying very hard to make sure we have a nice meal and that everything is to our taste). Prices are not too expensive, and it was definitely worth the money.

Few places can bolster quality and class without being pompous, and Antico Mulino is one of them. Warm and welcoming, spontaneous and genuine it is, however, far from dilettante when it comes to food expertise. Beautiful servings of local Circense recipes given modern but unobtrusive twists entertain and cheer up any spirit. Nestled in the heart of Circeo, Ristorante Il Grottino offers a unique dining experience that combines stunning views with a rich seafood tradition. While some diners prefer the internal seating for a more intimate atmosphere away from street traffic, others enjoy the vibrant ambiance of the square. I've eaten at this restaurant a few times over the years during different seasons. I had one of my best meals in Italy here last summer with excellent caprese, fresh fish and excellent sides and wine. Fast forward a few months to April 2018 and there's been a slight drop in quality. The caprese I remember with fresh tomatoes and amazing mozarella di bufula was simply refrigerated mozarella and maybe store bought cherry tomatoes. The fish was still good but the sides were a bit lackluster than I remembered. I believe that since San Felice Circeo is a beach town, it truly comes alive in the warmer months. Perhaps the same care and fresh ingredients aren't readily available. Who knows. Very fond memories of eating here before but coming in non summer months is a different experience. The service is always the highlight with very friendly staff, fast and attentive. Excellent location and fast wifi.

We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. Upon arrival, we were left waiting outside for 15 minutes with no communication, no greeting- staff didn’t even acknowledge our presence. It felt disrespectful and very unprofessional. Thankfully, a kind woman inside at the bar eventually spoke to us, which was the only positive part of the experience. But frankly, if this is how the service staff treats guests, I’m not at all curious to find out what the food is like. We left and won’t be returning.

The restaurant is on a fancier side with elaborate dishes and a combination of interests tastes. Absolutely worth a visit! Great view, welcoming staff and delicious meals. Pasta with shrimps, burrata and yellow tomatoes is to die for! Definitely the best restaurant along the lungomare👌🏼😃🍷

Very nice and professional staff. Fantastic sea view, and the food quality is as good as it gets. Would certainly recommend.

The food is pretty good but the service was terrible although the waiter was nice. It was crowded and way understaffed.

Terrible experience. The manager wasn’t polite. She asked for a bill higher that the receive. Bad food, bad experience. I totally don’t recommend this place to anyone.
