Bodies of Water
Unkal Lake is a large and picturesque lake in Hubli-Dharwad, offering activities like boating and sunset viewing. The waterfront park nearby provides a perfect spot for relaxation, while the temple in the vicinity adds a touch of cultural charm to the area. Additionally, there are restaurants with delightful views of Unkal Lake where visitors can savor Chinese and Thai cuisine.
Beautiful lake to relax and spend time. Visited here when train got delayed. Well maintained and lots of place to relax. The view of lake is amazing. There is a kids park too. Great place to spend free time. There is a small food court too. The ticket price is just ₹10!

Unkal Lake Hubli: Perfect for Picnics & Peaceful Walks! Unkal Lake is a popular and well-maintained spot in Hubli, ideal for picnics, walks, and quality family time. The lake is large, complemented by a clean garden, playground, and walking pavements right at the entrance. Entry is a nominal ₹10 per person, and car parking is conveniently available in front. While the lake itself is well-maintained with regular de-weeding and attractive new fountains with lights, it's disheartening to see visitors still scattering garbage and plastic, despite efforts to keep it litter-free. A great place to relax, if visitors contribute to its cleanliness.
Saish G — Google review
A great place to spend time with family and friends! The Unkal Lake and garder is the place where you can find real peace and happiness. The place is totally covered with greenery and we can see many view points there so that we can enjoy the lake view from there and can feel the atmosphere. The lake and garden is really wonderful but I suggest to maintain the Unkal Lake more as the water seems to be polluted, and also request each and everyone (including me) to maintain the place and follow the rules so that the lake and garden look better and it's our own responsibility to maintain our area and surroundings clean including public parks, gardens and more. My overall experience was pretty good and I really enjoyed a lot. Most recommended garden to visit for the one who are new to Hubballi, and i recommend those too who haven't visited this place. There are even many more kids playable area so that kids can enjoy and have fun. Best walking trails are available for morning and evening walks and you'll really enjoy it. Huge Parking facility is also available vehicle parking. The ticket is Rs.10 per person and Rs.5 for vehicle (the day I visited). * Online Payment Option is not available. ** No entry ticket and vehicle parking ticket were provided by the ticket counter agent, who was unresponsive.* Overall my experience for this visit was worth watching and I really enjoyed here! Beautiful lake with wonderful surroundings. It’s so clean. Ample parking space for vehicles.
Madhvi — Google review
Great place for walkers and jogger’s . We could only make 1/4th round of the entire lake . According to the security of the lake the entire periphery of the lake is about 6.5 kms . The lake closes at 07:00 pm . If you are planning to cover the entire round then have ample time before you take the full circle. The lake is just next to Hotel naveen . The pavement have been well laid . There are lights out along the track so that the move may be smooth . There is a sun set view point at the enterance at a heightened location . There is an eatery/restaurant at the entrance where you can grab snack before you set out for walking . Entrance fee is 10/- and parking fee is also 10/- . If you are in Hubballi and not sure where to go in the evening then this is a good place to explore .
Vijay K — Google review
I am a resident of Jaipur and have been visiting lake for long walks ever since childhood. I have seen people from all walks of life come to lake for morning and evening walks. I like to walk the talk here with friends and family. The environment of the lake is very conducive for deep introspection. Watching the sunrise or sunset gives me an exhilarating experience and makes me feel one with God and Nature. Of late you can see the water shimmering like silver if you go around 5:30 or 6:00 pm and makes the whole area look so calm and serene and beautiful. At the other end of the lake there is now a Buddha Park with a very beautiful calm and serene statue of Lord Buddha in sitting pose. At the entrance you will find the lake club, restaurant, lots of vendors selling eatables, and a big play zone for kids where you can enjoy with kids. Also, there are ducks in the lake which you can feed or go for a boat ride. There are plenty of things to do here. It has become an activity centre for people. All in all an enjoyable experience.

The Indira Gandhi Glass House in Sadashiva Nagar, Hubballi is a stunning open-air structure made of glass and steel, often used for flower shows, concerts, and various events. The surrounding garden is meticulously maintained with lush greenery, colorful flower beds, and well-trimmed lawns. This picturesque setting makes it perfect for leisurely strolls, photography sessions, or simply enjoying some peaceful time amidst nature.
How can any place be this wonderful!! Such a wonderful garden / park / etc in Hubballi. The place is really well maintained and a very very peaceful place surrounded by many varieties of trees making it a place of Greenery. The place has a beautiful antique building, many antique statues, beautiful fountains, a lot of places inside the campus to spend quality and peaceful time with friends and family. The Glass 🏠 is very popular around Hubballi - Dharwad, as it is a place of attraction for many tourists and many more... The place is under the control of Hubballi - Dharwad Smart City Department and is maintained well. There are many things & many areas in the campus to spend time with kids, family, friends, etc. There is a Toy Train Station, where there is a tiny and beautiful Toy Train where many children can enjoy the Train Ride and the route covers the full campus of the Glass House. Here there are many small gardens in the campus and all are totally different from each other. The place is full of Joy! Here, there will be the celebration of many events like Fala Pushpa Pradarshana, Siridanya, and more.. that makes the place more attractive for visitors, and these events are worth participating in and are memorable too!! The entry fee for the Glass House is ₹20 per person & ₹10 for vehicle parking, and there is plenty of parking space available. Overall, according to me.. the Glass House is really worth visiting and the place is full of Joy and Greenery.

Nice peaceful place with vehicles noise. Entry fee 20 rupees, nice greenery place. Near to old bus stand can come by walk. We can also bring kids they will enjoy. Here there is a tog train which covers the full park which is not in the entry fee ticket we need to buy a separate 30 rupees ticket to access the train. Local people come for walking in the morning and evening.

Flower show (Fala pushpa pradarshan and siridhanya ) festival is going on for today and tomorrow. Entry fees is 20rs . They have arranged a very good exhibition of various flowers, fruits, superfoods, plants. You can explore different types of grains. Also the statues made of ragi, jowar etc. They have also carved fruits and vegetables. Aquarium is also exhibited over here . Also fishes and the aquarium set is available for sale They have also kept plants for sale at very reasonable price. I got plants and compost from here at cheap rates. You can get fertilizers at just 10rs per kg and plants starting from 50rs. Note: Don’t forget to get your own bags if you are a plant lover. They do provide you bag for 10rs additional charges. Overall good experience. You can enjoy snacks as well, girmit and mirchi bajji.

It is a big area which offer picnic spots, skating ground, parks... etc. There is a mini train service. Toilet facilities are also available. The ticket rate is very cheap and perfect place for family.

The Indhira Gandhi Glass House in Hubli is a stunning architectural gem, known for its unique design and beautiful surroundings. However, it suffers from a lack of maintenance, which detracts from its potential as a top attraction. With proper care, it could be a vibrant gathering spot for locals and tourists alike.

Nice ambience and the food was good. In my opinion u can try Murgh mussallam compared to other dishes. Overall had good experience but the only problem we faced was the bill. They charged us extra for 1 dish which we didn't order and later corrected it with courteous when we raised the issue. But their service is appreciable.

Basaveshwar Khanavali is a popular restaurant in Hubli known for serving authentic Hubli-style meals. The menu includes traditional items like rotti, shenga chatni pudi, and Holige. While the meal is a bit pricey for some, it's considered worth trying due to its quality and taste. The restaurant offers a full course meal with various curries, bread, curd, salad, rice, and sambar along with flavorful chutneys.
Want yummy North Karnataka food in Hubli? Basaveshwara Khanavalli is a household name here. This one is right opposite the BV Bhoomareddy College and easy to access by the AC Hubli- Dharwad buses that run till late night. The 2 jolad roti and no-bar hot rice meal is one of it's kind. Badnekai yengai, kalu palya, shenga chutney, pickle, nuggekai sambar, curds, onion salad, palya etc are divine tasting! Prices are well worth the cost and their efficient service, super taste and quality are legendary. Covid precautions like mask and distance are still in place. 👍 All in all a must do when in Hubbali.

You go to such restaurants and ask yourself a question, is profit maximization the only aim of any business?? Bcoz people here would love to serve you first to fullest of your satisfaction and only then would allow you to pay. The quality of the food offered is good and hygienic. The taste is awesome too. The prices are okish. The jolad rotti is served hot and fresh. They also offer bisi bisi holigi with tuppa. 😋

This is in Dharwad Oswal towers, the hotel clean n tidy with good seating spaces. The food here is excellent and the service is really good and lunch was very satisfying as it served hot and fresh. Jowla roti was really good. Ambience was fine a good place to visit when in Dharwad.
Sudhi R — Google review
For ₹150, the meal is worth trying. They serve 3 curries, rotti/chapati, curd, salad, papad, rice and sambar along with chutney. The red chilli chutney is spicy and tasty. The ambience is quite ok. The staff is friendly and the owner is very attentive and asks every customer if they need anything else. Since it's a full course meal, it would've been served on a banana leaf(plantain leaf meal) instead of steel plates. Management should think of it and start serving the meals to provide customers a grand dining experience.
Shankarappa A — Google review
This hotel provides authentic Hubli style meal. With rotti, shenga chatni pudi, Holige and other items. The full meal is popular here. Everyone who visits Hubli must eat once here. It has many branches over Hubli. The rotti is not unlimited that's the only sad thing.... Holige was superb, the meal is little expensive ₹₹₹ against quantity. If it was unlimited rotti, then price would satisfy us. But over all service experience was fab!
Sumanth G — Google review
First let's talk about food, best veg meals that I tasted in Hubli as the other guides mentioned it's a perfect Hubli style meal. Are you in Hubli and want to eat a Hubli style food then this is the right place tour looking for just drive in, they serve best meals in Hubli at a reasonable price only drawback is whether you eat a full meal or a half doesn't matter you have to pay for full meals price that's Rs:100/- and of course you have to pay extra for whatever the extra food you order like if you order a extra cup of curd , you have to pay , if you order a extra rotti you have to pay. Doesn't work for everyday meals but the food is tasty work a visit once in a while.

Recently visited this restaurant, and the ambiance was truly impressive. After the renovation, the place looks fantastic—modern, fresh, and inviting. It definitely adds to the overall dining experience. The food was good, with some dishes standing out, but not everything was up to the mark. There’s definitely room for improvement in terms of consistency. And food options a few years ago was very unique and different, however, today was very simple The service could have been better. At times, the waitstaff seemed a bit confused, leading to slight delays. A little more attentiveness would enhance the experience. Overall, it was a great experience with a beautifully renovated ambiance, good food, and plenty of potential to become even better!

This is how restaurants ignore the Walk-in takeaway customers, since thy do not have scope for reviewing the orders. All they focus is Dine-in and Zomato/Swiggy orders where customers review every item thy order. I ordered Masala Rice but you could see completely burnt groundnuts(Pictures attached ), Any chef looking at the color of groundnut can make out it has burnt completely. But No , how does a take way customer complain when he has taken it personally. Thank you Google for this platform.

It's near U mall . It's in the 2nd floor u can go by walk or by lift. We visited at 4:10PM it was closed so we went in the evening at 7:30PM even at that time tables were full so we have waited for 15 to 20min. U have sitting area for 8members ,they will note down your name and call u once the tables are free. May be there are 4seating table are 8 and 6seater 3 i guess. Mostly of them the time I visited ordered for Thali which cost around 350 per head. U need to have space to enjoy completely. Two sweets,3palya,2sambar,veg bonda, roti, pulka, majige, rice sambar and one rice pongal. I suggest people who r not that hungry better not to order thali.
