Nestled in lush, scenic surroundings, Sendang Gile Waterfall is a picturesque site featuring two different waterfalls accessible via trails. A 20-minute walk leads to the spectacular Sendang Gile, while a further 40 minutes along the track brings visitors to the beautiful Tiu Kelep falls and natural swimming pool. It's recommended to bring swimwear for an invigorating bathing experience.
Sendang Gile Waterfall 🏞️ can be accessed via two popular entry Gates. North ⬆️ side is Gate 1️⃣ and to the West ⬅️ is Gate 2️⃣, my entry was via Gate 1️⃣. (Read my review on Gate 1 to understand why Gate 1 is better) This waterfall is about 15 to 20mins walk from Gate 1, entry fee is Rp$20,000 for tourists 👒👗. It is mostly walking 🚶🚶‍♀️downhill. So, just be mindful that you will need to walk uphill when you want to get out! 😆 This waterfall is a straight drop from about 4️⃣ stories high. We walked in and took a massage under the water Lol 😅 It is strong 💪 so, be careful! Catching the sun 🌅 rays at the correct angle, you will get a view of a rainbow 🌈, it’s beautiful. It’s a nice place to take pictures 🤳📸, relax, and have a break. Shops sell snacks 🍿, drinks 🥤🧃, public toilets 🚾🚻 to change and use. If you are going in, be mindful of your belongings 🎒📱. Keep your eye 👀 on it or rotate with your friends to enter. The other pro tip I will offer is, if you have a drone, bring it with you and fly it. It was amazing to fly up the path and see where the water came from. After this, you can continue to walk to Tiu Kelep Waterfall. Another 20mins walk, see my other review 📝.

Must see! Bring water shoes, you will need to walk through water streams for the second fall. When you arrive at parking they will try to sell you a tour guide and tell you it’s hard trail and you can get lost and hard to find waterfalls. This is not true, you can go by yourself and impossible to miss the falls, just follow the path.
Emmanuel P — Google review
Amazing waterfalls! Cost 20k each to enter and took about a 15 min walk down/up jungle steps to reach, but they were gorgeous and very worth it! There is also toilets and people selling food/beverages but I didn’t use or buy any so can’t comment on those.

I visited Sendang Gile Waterfall recently and took the slightly longer but much easier route that starts and finishes at Cafe Rinjani Dawn. Highly recommend it if you prefer a more gradual path instead of the steep stairs from the main entrance. Look for the sign on the main road that says Cafe Rinjani Dawn and "Senaru Waterfall Trail" and head down the small lane until you pass the restaurant. The ticket office for the waterfalls is next to an irrigation stream, which you follow to Sendang Gile Waterfall. I chose to go with a guide from Lost on Lombok, and it was absolutely worth it. Super friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to share stories about the area. On the way back, along the path toward Cafe Rinjani Dawn, we even spotted a group of black monkeys, which was a real highlight. If you're heading to the waterfalls, I recommend this route, as it's very scenic, with some excellent viewpoints. Cafe Rinjani Dawn is also a hidden gem, with great coffee and delicious gluten free chicken wrap!

Going down the stairs for just a few minutes and you’ll arrive at this beautiful waterfall. It’s a nice spot to take a short break, enjoy the scenery, and cool off before continuing your journey to Tiu Kelep.

The path to this waterfall is very easy and beautiful. It involves about a 10-minute walk down some stairs. At the bottom, you can buy drinks, corn on the cob, etc. Unfortunately, swimming is not allowed at this waterfall. From here, you can reach another, even more beautiful waterfall in 20 minutes.
Armon — Google review
A waterfall attraction that can be reached with a 20–30 minute walk. The ticket price is 10.000 Rupiah per person (for domestic). I recommend wearing comfortable footwear like hiking sandals because you will cross a river and there are some slippery rocks.

Amazing waterfall, we took a guide as we had an 8 month old with us but you can probably do it without a guide as well. Our guide was super nice though, was informative and took some great pictures for us, so it was worth it for us. Paid 150k per person.

Tiu Kelep Waterfall is a stunning natural wonder located in the small mountain village of Senaru in North Lombok, Indonesia. Situated at the base of Mount Rinjani and surrounded by lush jungle, it offers a breathtaking sight for visitors. The journey to reach Tiu Kelep involves traveling approximately 175 km from Mataram city, taking about 4 hours via different routes. The road to the waterfall can be steep and thrilling, adding an adventurous element to the trip.
One of the best and biggest waterfall I’ve ever seen in lombok. Entrance was 20k per person and the track to get here was pretty easy. I didn’t hire a tour guide and still got here just fine. Every junction leads to the same spot anyway, so you won’t get lost. The highlight for me was going back down using water tubing. You’ll glide through a narrow passage on an inflatable tube at a thrilling speed. They handle documentation for you (using your own phone) and bring your bags to the meeting point, so you don’t have to worry about anything getting wet. I highly recommend trying it because I think you won’t find something like this in many other places.

Both waterfalls are very beautiful. It's difficult to swim but it worth it. About 20 minutes walk between the two waterfalls. Be careful, you must walk in the water (flip-flops or water shoes required). For the rest of the walk, it’s best to have walking shoes. Lots of tourists, best to go before 9:30 am. Price (see photo). Parking fees. At the entrance, the locals will offer you a guide. It’s absolutely not necessary!

Loved it! Entered via Gate 1 and walked down steps, past monkeys to the first waterfall. No guide needed and the monkeys don't take any notice of you. After the first waterfall, we back-tracked about 50m and turned left along a path that warned of falling rocks. Following the path was straightforward, but you need to cross the river on a couple of occasions, so take sandals. The path was easy to follow and although most people appeared to have a local guide with them, we didn't need one. The waterfall is very impressive and worth the effort to get there. We spend ages just sitting on rocks in the river, watching people come and go and enjoying the view of the huge waterfall.

Tiu Kelep Waterfall is the 2nd waterfall you can access via Gate 1 followed via Sendang Gile Waterfall. It’s about 20mins walk 🚶🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️from Sedang Gile Waterfall. (You can read 🗣️ my review 📝 on Gate 1 and Sedang Gile Waterfall separately) What a beautiful 🤩 waterfall that mother nature provided. Wide, powerful water drop and perfect for taking pictures 📸. The walk from Sedang Gile Waterfall to Tiu Kelep Waterfall will bring you through water 🏝️bodies and forest 🌳 trails. You need proper footwear like water sandals? Not advisable to wear slippers 🩴🩴. Enroute, there are many picture 📸taking opportunities. If you have a drone with you, it’s even better that you can fly 🛸 it along the water body leading directly to the waterfall. You can walk right up to the waterfall, go under it and take lots of pictures. (Might need to queue ⏳up if you are late) Then walk 🚶‍♀️🚶🚶‍♂️back a little to the runoff and there is a pool 🛁 you can dip 👙🩲🩱 in and enjoy. It’s really nice when the sun rays hit the waterfall and the rainbow 🌈 forms. Truly a beautiful gift from Mother nature. Do be afraid to walk in and enjoy the moment. 🥰

Breathtaking!! Along with Benang Stokel, the most impressive waterfall in Lombok. You will get your feet wet as you have to walk in the water at some point but the walk is easy. Only 10 minutes from the first waterfall which is nice but not stunning.
Claudio C — Google review
The journey here is adventurous but absolutely worth it! You walk through the jungle and sometimes have to wade through the river, so open shoes are best. The waterfall and the surrounding area are truly breathtaking!
Armon — Google review
Entrance fee 20k. A lot of tourists had a guide, however pretty straightforward to get there by yourself. One section where you need to wade through ankle to knee deep water. Some monkeys around as well so keep snacks in a bag. Whole area is pretty rubbish free which is nice to see.

We visited this waterfall the day after our Mt. Rinjani hike. It's the second waterfall after Sendang Gile waterfall and absolutely picture-perfect. You can reach it in about 20 minutes from the first waterfall. The trek is relatively flat, except few stairs to climb. Overall it is a must see waterfall.

Lake Segara Anak is a stunning natural wonder nestled within the caldera of Mount Rinjani, standing at an impressive altitude of 6,562 feet. The deep-blue volcanic lake is surrounded by lush greenery and offers breathtaking views that attract hikers and nature enthusiasts. Camping by the tranquil crater lake provides an unforgettable experience, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the serene natural environment.
Danau Segara Anak is a volcanic lake inside Rinjani Mountain. We downhill trekking for 4hrs from Pelawangan Camp to reach this place. The view here is also beautiful, you may find the small fish swim freely here.

A very challenging rocky down track to reach this amazing place. But all worth it! Be aware of your own rubbish, and as long as you have cash, the warong is ready to serve what you need!

THE VIEW!!!! WOW. Had a chance to camp here one night and it was unforgettable moment in my life. To be here was uneasy after you did Rinjani tracking, however the track was quite plain. After you reached here, you will feel awe by its charm, it was beautiful. To be advised to not swim in the lake, because the water contains sulfur. One thing that I remember when we hike here, we had a chance to see local people doing their ritual. It's once in a year event and we managed to see it. Really awesome experience that wont be easy to forget!!

Camping site. You can fish here, but a bit difficult to get fish, i am amateur. Beautiful view, but some campers/visitor leave garbage. Sad. There is a hot springs near the lake!

I am speechless. Too beautiful to be described
Jauhari A — Google review
I swim in this lake in the morning. Even though the water is cold, but the air in Segara Anak much more colder. So I prefer to swim because it's warmer than you stay on the land. Not really clear water but many local people do their traditional ritual here. They here together here before go down back to their village. Really beautiful lake in the top of the mountain.

Nestled in the picturesque Senaru Traditional Village, the Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep Waterfall Tour offers an unforgettable day of exploration. As you journey through Lombok's stunning northern coastline, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of Malimbu and Nipah Beach, along with glimpses of the iconic three gilis and lush rice fields.
Good tour, took time to explain in great detail various things in and around the village. Had lunch, best lunch in Lombok according to the children...

Interesting village to visit but no need for a guide. It takes 15/20 minutes to see everything. Guide price 50,000 rupees + donation (usually 20,000 rupees)

(Translated by Google) A wonderful experience to visit a traditional, self-sufficient village. A guide explains the rules of coexistence, traditions, and how they relate to modern times. The tour takes only 15-20 minutes. They lend you a sarong, which you can return at the end of the tour. You sign a book with your name and nationality, and if you wish, make a donation to the community and the guide. (Original) Bonita experiencia de ver un pueblo tradicional y autosuficiente. Hiking area
Mount Rinjani National Park is a mountainous area on Lombok Island, offering guided hikes, breathtaking views, and a campground for trekkers. In addition to Mount Rinjani, the island boasts other charming and historic sites worth exploring. The trek to the summit is challenging and requires good fitness levels. It takes about 6 hours of steady hiking to reach the crater rim for camping before embarking on a 4-hour summit trail in the early morning.
I climbed the mountains Ringani on a two-day trip and one night’s stay. It was not an easy experience, but the moment you reach the summit and watch the sunrise makes you forget all the fatigue and effort. Just prepare yourself, especially for such a night, which is physically and mentally exhausting, and the cold on the Top, is not for beginners.

The hardest thing i ever done so far , but just really enjoy the moment the view the people, although it's really dirty in the camp site little and stool just beside my camp .But the view really amazing. And my team and the tour guide they all amazing i will miss them alot.

Its hella worth it, just not as you're first hike ever. Its gonna be hard, not gonna lie. Everyone thst comes down almost all tell you its the hardest thing they've ever done. Which is true, just go! Hotsprings are another full day of hiking extra, we did not do that one but it sounded like not something we would have fount it worth. Sleeping beds arent the best but okay ish, just dont expect to have perfect nights, bring earplugs for the wind maybe. Bring wipes to clean yourself a little. Its a lot. Its really cold up!!! So please dont underestimate that, i had a sweather a wind proof rain jacket and 2 shirts and it was cold, wish i had gloves and a thicker jacket. A lot of the ground moves away under your feet, so know if you find thst scary a lot dont do it. You wont make the top anyway and its a lot of thst in the last part of the first day up.

I climbed Mount Rinjani on a 2-day, 1-night package together with my brother. We hired one guide and two amazing porters—real "supermen"—who carried all our necessities, including food and camping gear. This hike is not for beginners; it's definitely recommended for experienced and physically fit climbers. The terrain is steep, challenging, and requires stamina, especially during the ascent and descent. We spent the night by the beautiful Segara Anak Lake, a serene crater lake nestled within the mountain. The view was breathtaking—surrounded by dramatic cliffs, misty air, and the calming sound of nature. Soaking our feet in the nearby hot spring after a long trek was the perfect way to relax. On the second day, we started the final push to the summit before dawn. We reached the top just as the sun began to rise, and the view from up there was absolutely spectacular—golden sunlight illuminating the peaks, casting shadows across the clouds, and revealing the vast landscape below. It was very cold, but the beauty and sense of accomplishment made every step worth it. Reaching the summit of Mount Rinjani was truly one of the best experiences of my life, and I sincerely hope I’ll have the chance to do it again in the near future.

Exceptional trek from tetebatu, with a good part starting in the jungle (cooler trek as there is shade compared to the other side to the north). You need to plan to sleep one night so that you can climb a short section only in the morning from the last camp before seeing the sunrise at the top. The wind can bring a lot of clouds or make them disappear in a short time. An exceptional lake at the summit.
Luc B — Google review
One of our best hikes we've done. It's challenging and demanding but the view is worth every step! You have to be fit to do this hike. Make sure to reach the summit before sunrise as the colours are amazing! It's gets really cold on the summit so make sure to take some warm clothes and jackets. We've done it twice and if we have the change we would do it again. 100% recommend
M M — Google review
A really beautiful hike on a amazing trail. This should be in the list of mountains to hike for every serious hiker. Went there in August which is dry season. The ground is dry and some parts are quite loose and slippery. It is definitely colder during dry season so be prepared to stay warm at base camp and crater rim campsite.
LK O — Google review
Different people different view ya but for me its a lovely place for hiking to volcano mount as you can experience different type of sand during hike and the view along the journey to the top is worth it. Its tiring so please make sure to really exercise and train for this hike. Never give up and just enjoy the nature the world that God created for us to enjoy. If you feel tired, stop for a while and continue again. Please be extra careful along the journey ya. No worries your guide and porter will follow you along the way and prepare the bestest food ever during this trip. Dont be surprise to experience nature of your toilet at the campsite 🤣. Overall its worth it to try hike at least once in a lifetime but since i didnt go to Torean route as my leg already jelly after summit, maybe i’ll go again. Definitely!!!
