Santa Fe

Santa Fe, New Mexico’s capital, sits in the Sangre de Cristo foothills. It’s renowned for its Pueblo-style architecture and as a creative arts hotbed. Founded as a Spanish colony in 1610, it has at its heart the traditional Plaza. The surrounding historic district’s crooked streets wind past adobe landmarks including the Palace of the Governors, now home to the New Mexico History Museum.

Meow Wolf Santa Fe's House of Eternal Return is a 22,000 square foot immersive art experience filled with multimedia elements and a mysterious narrative. Housed in a former bowling alley owned by George R.R. Martin, this fantasy world created by 150 artists offers captivating layers of creative chaos and interactivity without the gore of Game of Thrones. It appeals to both children and adults, inviting visitors to solve the sci-fi-esque disappearance of a fictitious family through clues sprinkled throughout the space.
This place was definitely cool! We got the Anytime tickets so we weren't limited to a certain time. The art in the parking lot was neat to see. There was no wait, we got right in. The exhibit was awesome with so much to see and do. About half way way we found out there was a scavenger hunt (we went with seasoned visitors who ran us through a little quick). My advise is take your time to really soak in all the things to see and do. We definitely will go back!

Meow Wolf Santa Fe is truly one of the most incredible experiences I’ve ever had! From the moment we stepped inside, it was like entering another world—a psychedelic, mind-bending playground where every corner held a new surprise. Even as adults, we found ourselves grinning ear to ear, exploring like kids again, uncovering hidden passages and discovering secrets tucked away at every turn. The creativity, detail, and imagination that went into this place is just unbelievable—it’s interactive art on a whole new level. It was equal parts fun, mysterious, and awe-inspiring. If you ever get the chance to go, don’t hesitate—everyone should experience this magical adventure at least once in their life.

I have heard about this place for many years and have wanted to go. It's so worth it! Was all that it was said it was to be. Such a great experience. We were glad there weren't kids running around and screaming until a little towards the end. We went right away at 10am on a Monday and were there for 3 hours! Just magical. The details are amazing. My friend and I are artists and were really inspired!!

What an amazing experience! We have heard of MW for many years but have never visited. Being big fans of escape rooms, I suggest not getting too tied up into solving the mystery. Even though you can solve puzzles, we found ourselves having more fun discovering the different rooms. There is so much to see and interact with it would take away from the experience if you tried to do it on a day. We visited on an afternoon on a Monday in November and we felt we had the place to ourselves. The phone app, which we found did not work consistently, was nice to have to gain more insight into the puzzles/storyline. We explored for 3.5 hours and only managed to solve a few puzzles and felt we got through all the rooms. To solve the mystery, you would need multiple visits. All the more reason to revisit!

Very awesome. As someone who has been to the Denver one many times, I would say I line this one even more. Super fun and unique. You really have to go to know what it’s like but I loved this recent visit (which was my second).
Sebastian G — Google review
A magical journey through the imagination of many. This is the OG, and I think the experience speaks for itself. A fun spot for a date, especially during a weekday when there's less kids. But also seems to be a great spot to take your kiddos and let them explore all the fun rooms and spaces. I would suggest 2-4 hours for sure. If you want to really dive in to the experience, download the app and start using it at the mailbox.
Joshua B — Google review
Are there words? This place was nothing like I have ever seen. The art was ... Living, you were in it. I enjoyed opening a door and walking into a dream, an imaginary thought, a fantasy. It was AMAZING. You enter a "Regular" house (we didn't do the story) and every door leads you to a different world yet they were all the one. The builders of this beautiful madness are brilliant. I had so much fun here, it awakened imagination and excitement. I enjoyed every minute of this. You want a day of fun where you can COMPLETELY shut out the world? Go to Meow Wolf!
FxFalcon — Google review
It's another fantastic and timeless world for adventure experiences! 🤩 Your ordinary imagination totally disappears when you step in there. It's a very artistic, exotic, future's zone they've created in one spot in the Westernized city of Santa Fe. ✨

Art museum
The Georgia O'Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe, New Mexico is a tribute to the iconic artist known as the 'Mother of American Modernism.' The museum showcases rotating exhibits featuring O'Keeffe's paintings, sculptures, and sketches. Visitors can explore her innovative perspective on landscapes through pieces like From the Plains and Jimson Weed.
Highly recommended! It’s so worth the trip! It was really nice to get to see other styles of her work aside from the famous flowers. The museum also did a great job painting her as a person who really lived a full life. You should buy a ticket in advance as the place is quite small and cannot accommodate too many people at a time. We went there early in the morning and it was better since it was not too crowded yet.
Manasicha A — Google review
Will return. What a treat: we enjoyed two hours private tour at the museum of Georgia O'Keeffe (1887-1986). She's my top three artist. I even bought a matching flowery dress when I went to see one of her exhibits in New York a few years ago. This museum was opened in 1997. It's small (Santa Fe is a small town!) and the paintings they've, are rather small too. I think the museums in New York and DC have far more magnificent 气势磅礴 works of hers. "Mother of American modernism", was born in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, University of Virginia and the Teachers College, Columbia University. Her eventual husband Alfred Stieglitz (1864-1946) was a photographer and modern art promoter, who held an exhibit in New York for her in 1917. He would divorce his fellow photographer/artist Emmeline Obermayer in 1924 and married O'Keeffe the same year. The frames: they look thin. The docent said they were designed by the artist herself. Reportedly can prevent bugs as well as wine (they do rent out the museum space). O'Keeffe was often the harshest judge of her own work, and even went so far as to destroy paintings that did not meet her standards. In some cases this was because a work had been damaged-including damage that she considered to have been done by careless conservators. She had been visiting New Mexico (Santa Fe, Taos, etc.) during her marriage. After his death in 1946, she soon moved to New Mexico for the rest of her life; spending the last few years in Santa Fe and passed away there. Among list of artists who enjoyed success and recognition during their own lifetime, she was the only female artist among the 10 men: Pablo Picasso Leonardo da Vinci Michelangelo Claude Monet Pierre-Auguste Renoir Rembrandt Salvador Dalí Andy Warhol Georgia O'Keeffe Henri Matisse Paul Cézanne Till 1986, her works fetched the highest amount at the auctions, among female artists. Now her works only trail behind Yayoi Kusama (1929-) and Joan Mitchell (1925-92), one is still alive and one dead six years after her. She enjoyed cooking, perhaps was also the farm to table pioneer. The exhibits of her kitchen wears, pots, pans and notebooks are hers but her Leica camera on display wasn't, the museum explained that she used the same model. Love the honesty. One thing I thought she was above the rest was she didn't sign her works, because she believed her distinctive and unique style would be easily recognized. Which is so true. The female docent said, "she said, 'you don't sign your face, do you?'" A little (or a lot) like Marguerite Duras (1914-96), or any elderly person who relies on a much younger companion. O'Keeffe hired an assistant Juan Hamilton (John Bruce; 1946-) in 1973, after suffering vision lose. He was 27, a divorced potter at the time. She left her estate to him, but to avoid lengthy litigation, he gave up much of that estate (houses and paintings ...) because "if he were to fight that fight, he would spend 10 to 15 years, which would be an entire career, and neither Miss O’Keeffe (how he loved to call her) nor he would ever want that." O'Keeffe was captivated by the view of Cerro Pedernal (Flint Mountain), which has been a sacred and significant site to many Indigenous and Hispano communities for thousands of years. O'Keeffe's own immense love and respect for this mountain is exhibited in her numerous depictions of the view from her front yard. According to the docent, her ashes are spread here.

My visit to this museum left me pensive, caught in the quiet gravity of O’Keeffe’s vision - a vision that clings to reality while daring to transcend it. One piece stopped me in my tracks: a gray crucifix pierced by a dark red heart. I stood before it, transfixed. Its stark lines seemed to pulse with unspoken stories-sorrow, sacrifice, perhaps love’s quiet endurance. The painting’s neat composition belied its emotional weight. The museum weaves O’Keeffe’s life into a vivid tapestry. Her robes, and her art supplies are displayed with care. Then there are the bones. Her collection of bones struck me as primal, and profound. The Georgia O’ Keeffe museum isn’t just a collection of art; it’s an invitation to pause, to feel, to question.

I learned so much about Georgia. I loved seeing different stages of her art work. I also loved how many people were there sharing our common love of her art. I liked the way. It was laid out and you could enter different rooms to view different stages. Seeing her art up close, seeing her belongings and her supplies. I just loved this experience. I would highly recommend this museum and BEFORE the house tour. That is how we did it. A lot of the art we saw at the museum played into the tour of her house. The staff were friendly and informative. You like art, then head here.
FxFalcon — Google review
I did the free audio tour. A lot of information is packed into the audio descriptions, and you actually want to walk faster than the audio tour allows. I encourage you to take a seat on a bench and look at the work while the audio is going. They even have classical music as part of the tour, naming classical music and artists she and Arthur Steiglitz had in their home and listened to while she painted. Every piece is magical, simple or classic, or preeminent Georgia O'Keefe. They have a movie bio of her life playing, and they also have a movie about the Téwa, renamed Pueblo by Spanish colonizers, artists who made various art pieces and wrote letters, between 2023 and 2025, as an answer to Georgia O'Keeffe's cultural appropriation and disrespect of Indigenous traditions while living in New Mexico. It was eye opening and a massive display of basic, approachable , and repairative reparations. And the best part of the exhibit was the Téwa art intermingled with the Georgia O'Keefe pieces that they challenged.

Small, but engaging museum in downtown Santa Fe. The day we visited, a weekday, tickets were available at the door, but best to reserve online, since they can sell out. A 10-minute video upon entry is a really great introduction to the artists life and her 98-year journey to eventually call New Mexico home. The museum foundation is planning to build a larger museum about a block away. All the artwork comes with useful backgrounds on the art and artist, which make the exhibits accessible to all ages. I spent about an hour in the museum and small gift shop, but an ethisiast could draw it iut to 2 hours.

A visit to Santa Fe is not complete without spending time at the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum. Born in Wisconsin, influenced her paintings her entire life. She combines Wisconsin with Santa Fe to paint with a unique blend and style. Making her a true feminist and role model to young women throughout the world.

This museum is beautiful and informative. I was pleasantly surprised at the museum's acknowledgement of the Tewa people and their culture. There were some beautiful pieces by Tewa artists on display also. The staff were all very nice and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit!

Canyon Road in Santa Fe is a picturesque street lined with over 100 art galleries, studios, and restaurants housed in traditional adobe buildings. It's a favorite activity for visitors to stroll along this legendary road, as well as around the downtown Plaza and the up-and-coming Railyard District. The area is known for its vibrant arts community and offers the opportunity to meet artists during Friday evening gallery openings.
If you love and appreciate art, I highly recommend visiting Canyon Road in Santa Fe. The pleasure of looking at galleries, each with their own unique character and color, makes you lose track of time. The friendly and open manners of each gallery you visit will make you realize why this place is a mecca for art.

A mile long one way street that filled with 80+ galleries of all kinds, a few eateries, the Ahmyo Wine Garden, and shops that sell cloth and jewelry. It begins at the junction with Paseo De Peralta, and pretty much ends at Santa Fe Teahouse & Bistro (821 Canyon Rd) and Art Box (901 Canyon Rd) on either side of E Palace Ave. Paseo De Peralta (means Peralta’s Promenade or Peralta’s Walk) is a major street in Santa Fe, named after Don Pedro de Peralta (1584?-1666), the Spanish colonial governor of New Mexico who established Santa Fe as the capital in 1610. The customers are mostly tourists.

Nestled in the heart of Santa Fe, New Mexico, the Loretto Chapel Museum is a captivating historic site that draws visitors with its breathtaking Gothic Revival architecture and enchanting lore. Originally constructed in the late 19th century as part of the Loretto Academy for girls, this chapel features the famous 'Miraculous Staircase,' an architectural marvel that appears to defy gravity with its spiral design and absence of visible support.
Although busy. This local landmark is filled with history and mystery from earth to the heavens. Lots to see. And be sure to bring some spending money as the gift shop has a lot to purchase. The cost for entry is affordable and to see the staircase in person is a gift. Be sure to leave a prayer and light a candle. This location is dog friendly as well.
Modern R — Google review
It was more interesting than I thought a stairway would be. Really thinking about what it took to build this cathedral back in the late 1800's is mind-boggling. French windows, Italian marble....in the middle of the desert where everything else is Adobe. Although there are bigger and more fantastic chapels in the world, it does give some very interesting insight into local history. There are more period photos in books in the gift shop worth a look. Easily experience in 40-60min
Leaf L — Google review
The Loretto Chapel Museum and Gift Shop is a peaceful and beautifully curated experience that goes beyond just viewing the famous staircase. The museum portion provides fascinating insight into the chapel’s history, the legend of the spiral staircase, and the Sisters of Loretto themselves. It adds depth and context to what might otherwise be just a quick visit. The gift shop is a pleasant surprise—well-stocked, spacious, and filled with tasteful, meaningful items ranging from religious keepsakes and local artisan goods to books and unique souvenirs. It’s not your typical touristy gift shop—it has charm and quality. Overall, this is a wonderful stop that blends history, faith, and thoughtful curation, making it a worthwhile visit even if you’ve already seen the chapel itself.

This is a small, intimate space. It has beautiful windows, wall art and, of course, the stairway is famous. I am a woodworker and looked at the staircase for 20 minutes. I just can't see how such a beautiful structure can stand - but it does and has and will. There were a lot of folks in the Chapel when we went but we had no problems getting around. I could see just sitting there for hours soaking the serenity and beauty of the place. I've never been in such a small church and found the experience captivating. A must do!!!
Richard G — Google review
I did not know that I'd be able to see this Miraculous Stairway that baffled architects and engineers. The structure did not use any support, nails or even glue. The history of this chapel and it's stairway is something makes it really amazing. A carpenter showed up after the nuns prayed a novena to St. Joseph. It is believed that St. Joseph the patron saint of carpenters constructed this stairway himself. After 6 months of its construction, the carpenter disappeared without collecting any fee. The nuns advertised if anyone knows this person and no one showed up to collect fees.
Anne C — Google review
A must see for your bucket list, the Miraculous Stairway is in the Chapel. Google the documentary, truly amazing. Nice gift shop on premises. $5 admission ( for upkeep & general maintenance of grounds- very old church building)
Redheaded G — Google review
Small charge to get in. Seems a bit commercial rather than religious. It definitely is an interesting staircase, initially constructed without the railing, is my understanding. It is fascinating how it supports the weight. You cannot see the underside which would be interesting. You also cannot touch any part of it. Amazing story it all the same and a quick stop was worth it.
Norman D — Google review
This was a great experience and it was very beautiful. I was originally told about the stair case which is why we came. Reminds me of some of the old stories I heard growing up. Alot of art work inside with the stained glass and the architectural building. The stair case is a gotta see if you like art. 5$ for adults. Really neat stuff

The Museum of International Folk Art is an expansive 80,000-sq-ft space celebrating global folk art and culture. It houses a diverse collection of art and artifacts from over 100 countries, making it the world's largest collection of international folk art. The museum offers a vibrant and eclectic experience with exhibits that engage visitors of all ages.
Theres a little bit of everything here for everyone to see! It was a $12 fee for me to walkabout as long as I wanted. I came here for the miniature exhibits & got more than I bargained for. Sadly I had limited time here & I did not have time to visit the other museum directly next door. I enjoyed how the museum is organized here, where they have a vast, diverse majority of displays with only code numbers on them, making it so you need to read through a provided booklet and find more information about the specific exhibit youre looking for more info on. Very interesting and wide selection to look through. Would visit again!

Really a fun and unique museum. The galleries are all very different. My wife and I have been to many art museums but this brings a completely different perspective. We particularly enjoyed the exhibit on South African phone wire weaving which is an amazing demonstration of taking waste and making art from it. We spent about 2 hours wandering which seemed to be a nice amount of time. We were also nicely surprised to find out Wednesday is New Mexican Seniors get in free day.

This museum is truly unique and unlike anything I’ve seen before. It showcases folk art from around the world, and the sheer number of objects on display is impressive. The guidebook is comprehensive, providing detailed information about the origins of the art. If you’re interested in this kind of art, you could easily spend a lot of time here. They also had a fascinating temporary exhibit featuring South African art made from telephone wire, which was both unique and wonderful to see. I highly recommend visiting this place.

We attended the Accessibility Awards and as it was my first visit I was just delighted with the history, beauty and excitement going on! I would have given a 5* but the security woman kicked us out of the museum because we had waters. When she realized she might have been drastic she then took that time to ask if it was just water. She could have asked in the first place. She invited us to finish our tour and I politely declined. Not even an apology. NOT EVEN a HELLO! No one wants to be made to feel like their visit there was unwelcomed. Other than that interaction everyone was very helpful and made the show enjoyable!

Great museum. We loved the unique exhibit in the basement with the stop motion video. We also enjoyed that many of the exhibits had interactive elements. We enjoyed looking at everything but we wish there were some simple labels (like country of origin and year) in the largest exhibit. It wasn't ideal to always have to be referencing the accompanying booklet. Lastly, telelphone wire art is a very interesting concept that I had never heard of before.

New American restaurant
"The Shed" is a popular Southwestern restaurant located in a historic hacienda dating back to 1692. Founded by New York City restaurateurs and inspired by the American Cowgirl culture, it offers classic Southwestern dishes. The restaurant has expanded over the years and now includes a Billiard Parlor, catering kitchen, and private party rooms.
The Shed is a Santa Fe must. Everyone recommended it to us and for good reason. But please know that because everyone recommends it the wait is astronomical for folks who don't make a reservation. So make a reservation!! If you're not lucky enough to get on the list you put your name in when the bar opens at 4 (the restaurant opens at 5). We went on Saturday night and got there early. We sat in the covered patio. The ambiance was lovely. The food was BOMB. And we want to give a huge shout-out to Christina (for seating us and being a doll) and Joe (such great energy and patience with chili newbies)!

Food and atmosphere was outstanding. This gem was recommended by a local we met in the park. It did not disappoint My only complaint was after being told they had unlimited refills on Coke I was to be charged after my third request. Which I should have been told limited refills on Coke. I would have e ordered an Ice tea instead. The best part of our visit aside from the great food was the care and welcoming of our fur babies in the patio area. It made the experience that much better for us all. Located in the heart of Santa Fe you are within walking distance to all the tourist destinations.

We had to check this place out since everyone says it’s a Santa Fe staple. We were quoted an hour and a half to two hours but were sat in one hour, so that was nice. The food was great! I loved the pozole side that comes with the enchilada plate. The chicken was well seasoned and the beans were so flavorful. The service was very lacking. He never came back to see how are food was, to refill our drinks, and I had to ask him to the bring the check. Would come back even though the service wasn’t good.
Amanda R — Google review
We’d read great reviews and were eager to enjoy the Shed’s best local creations, but the meal we had fell a little flat. The chips were stale, the house margarita was mostly mix, and the tacos seemed completely absent the promising green-chile sauce. The menu was also outdated, with the green-chile turkey out of stock and pulled from current dishes, according to our server. That said, the top-shelf margaritas were good, and the courtyard patio is a wonderful place to relax after a long day of walking Santa Fe’s historic district.

Vegetarian perspective Came here with a group of friends and had an amazing dinner. Made a reservation ahead, which I HIGHLY recommend. Got seated right away while others were being told multiple hours wait. Service was quick. We ordered the trio app with salsa l, guacamole and queso and it came out within minutes. Waitress helped give me a margarita recommendation and the vegetarian, vegan and non veggie people in the group all had plenty of great options. We sat outside and had a great time catching up over great food and drinks. The dessert menu was pretty lackluster so we got it elsewhere but everything else was great!
Kimberly M — Google review
It’s all that. Authentic, tasty and very well prepared and delivered. I had a chicken enchilada with green sauce and a beef enchilada with red sauce. The beans are noticeably better than many places I’ve been. It’s not too hot or spicy. It’s also not too cheesy so Chuy’s fans won’t see a lot of boomy sauce dishes.
David H — Google review
Aaron was a wonderful waiter, so friendly and helpful with making the perfect drink. I really enjoyed the enchilada plate and taco with added protein. They have lots of gluten free options! The atmosphere was fun and authentic, and sitting outside made it even more enjoyable. It’s such a dog friendly spot with plenty of dog lovers around.

We loved visiting here. The waitress we had reminded me of my aunt, she was very friendly (I wish I had gotten her name 😖) the only thing I’ll say is that pretty much everything was spicy so if you have a sensitive tummy, this may not be the place for you. I really enjoyed the roasted chicken and the shed lemonade. You’ll definitely have a good time here.

Geronimo is a renowned restaurant located in a historic adobe home, offering an eclectic New American menu with a touch of New Mexican flavors. It is highly recommended for fine dining and special occasions due to its contemporary cuisine and exceptional service. The restaurant has been recognized as one of the top 100 restaurants in America, known for presenting each dish as a work of art on sparkling white plates.
Top 10 meal we've had in our lives, which says a lot as we travel domestically and internationally 10-20 times per year. Service was great as well. Tuna app was incredible, what a presentation and way to mix flavor profiles. Also had the special heirloom tomato bisque with lobster. So great. Rack of lamb was fantastic. Apple dessert was very creative. Can't recommend this place enough. Make a reservation way ahead of time.

From the moment we walked in, the restaurant manager made us feel genuinely welcome. She was impeccably dressed, warm, and professional--the kind of presence that elevates the entire dining experience. Her knowledge of the restaurant’s history and her sincere passion for hospitality shined through in every interaction. Having spent many years in the restaurant business myself, I can say without hesitation: if I could have cloned and hired her back in my days, I absolutely would have! She’s a rare gem and a true credit to the establishment. Our only small (minor) quibble was being seated in the entry area, which was just a touch drafty despite the restaurant’s generous use of heaters. However, we were especially pleased to have the last seat in the house on short notice. That minor detail aside, everything else about the evening was simply exceptional! Liam was an outstanding waiter, blending warmth, grace, knowledge and genuine attentiveness. His thoughtful guidance through the menu — particularly with our allergy considerations — set the tone for a truly memorable experience. We began with a Bourbon Bramble and a French Martini, both beautifully balanced and expertly crafted. For appetizers, the chef’s special lobster ravioli was exquisite — silky pasta, sweet lobster, and a refined sauce in perfect harmony. The roasted beet salad was vibrant and impeccably composed, a must for anyone who appreciates the quiet elegance of seasonal root vegetables. For our mains, the elk tenderloin was exquisite — tender, flavorful, and absolutely deserving of a featured place on the menu. The beef tenderloin was equally sensational, cooked to a perfect medium rare with just the right touch of smoke. And the potato terrine accompaniment was a work of art — delicate, buttery, and melt-in-your-mouth scrumptious. Dessert was the perfect finale. The flourless chocolate cake, paired with a chocolate sorbet substitution to accommodate lactose intolerance, was rich, velvety, and beautifully balanced — indulgent without being heavy. The Apple Pastry Magic truly lived up to its name: a delicate shell with a surprise inside that was nothing short of enchanting. Gluten-free (without the crumble) and bursting with layered flavors, it was whimsical, elegant, and utterly unforgettable. This was a 5 star evening -- elevated cuisine, exceptional service, and thoughtful touches throughout. We look forward to returning soon!

This place is outstanding. Service is spot on - professional and prompt but not overbearing. Food lives up to the reputation and the beef and Elk tenderloin ordered were perfectly cooked. We will have to go back for dessert, we simply did not have room for it after appetizer, mains, and sides.

Very attentive welcoming and overall service from front to support and wait staff and sommelier. We had veal and tenderloin beef cooked to perfection - Indulged in a 2015 Châteauneuf-du-Pape to celebrate our 10-year anniversary. The Compound is a must for romantics and friends. We will return for more casual dinners as they offer smaller delectable and affordable plates for the food explorers in Santa Fe.

My new favorite restaurant—hands down. From start to finish, every dish just kept getting better. I began with lobster bisque that was rich, velvety, and unforgettable, followed by tender short ribs that melted in my mouth. Then came the star of the evening: a 13-ounce New York strip—absolute heaven—topped with a decadent cherry and roasted walnut sauce, perfectly paired with green chili mashed potatoes. The flavors were bold, unique, and masterfully balanced. What truly sets this place apart is not just the food, but the people. The staff is warm, generous, and attentive, ensuring that every small detail is handled with care. This is dining on another level—where excellence is the standard and every element is thoughtfully executed. I can’t wait to return.

I choose violence, whoever knew about this place and didn't tell me, whew Bae bee!!! It's on site. Dinka was amazing, request her specifically, she was very knowledgeable and gave great suggestions. The whole staff was attentive and the other patrons were very friendly. Drinks, make it a double, food...chef's kiss (literally)!! Pics don't do it justice, you have to try the food yourself. If you want to know the feeling of melt in your mouth and savor, this is the place.

My travels to Santa Fe are never complete without dining at Geronimo. For over 25 years it is my go to and my #1 dining destination for many reasons, but mostly because they elevate the dining experience. As a chef and restaurateur, I seek out the best, and Geronimo delivers. The service is impeccable and consistent; Reggie is always our server and we just love him. Thank you chef and everyone in the kitchen. Geronimo is well run and it all begins with the reservation and the hosts. See you soon! Lisa

I had an amazing time at Geronimo — truly one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in the last few months. Multiple friends recommended it to me, and I can see why. The foie gras was outstanding — rich, buttery, and perfectly balanced. The lamb was cooked to perfection, and every dish we tried was just as impressive, both in presentation and flavor. From start to finish, the service, ambiance, and food were exceptional. If you’re considering dining here, don’t hesitate — it’s worth every single dollar.

Mexican restaurant
Tia Sophia's is a beloved, no-frills diner-style eatery located in the historic city of Santa Fe. Since 1974, this family-run restaurant has been serving up classic New Mexican dishes such as enchiladas, green chile stew, and posole. Renowned for their breakfast burritos, Tia Sophia's is credited with being one of the first to feature them on their menu.
Happened upon this restaurant while walking around downtown. I was hoping for breakfast but missed it by 10 minutes. Fortunately, Huevos rancheros is on the lunch menu as well. The server even surprised me with hashbrowns as a side so it’s like missing the breakfast hours wasn’t a problem. The food was excellent. Well seasoned and both the red and green sauces were perfect. This was a pleasant change from the place I ate at the night before. Service was fast and friendly and the seating was comfortable. Definitely makes my list of New Mexico favorites.

Delicious vegetarian breakfast burrito. Rumor has it—I can neither confirm nor deny—the original breakfast burrito started here, so I wanted to try it. It does not disappoint. On the plus side, they had a number of vegetarian options (more than some other SF places) and were happy to customize the burrito. Would recommend to friends and family.

A classic eatery that is must visit for anyone in Santa Fe. The lunch special with pozole, green chili stew, enchiladas and a sopapia is worth a visit. Like many of the stores in the central business district, Tia Sophia's has a "thin" front and a deep retail footprint. If you can, get a seat near the front of the house so you can people watch while you eat. A lovely couple from Minnesota were seated near me and we struck up a conversation about food and geography.

We were told Tia Sophia's was a must when in Santa Fe and it did not disappoint! We had about a 20 min wait since we did not make reservations- which I would recommend since it is very popular. The vibe is great, service was on spot and they always smile and check in when passing by our table. Food was delicious and definitely a bang for you buck when it cones to plate size. Hubs had breakfast burrito Christmas style- red and green sauce! I had ground beef blue corn enchiladas Christmas style 😋 Flavors were excellent and made us soooo happy! Definitely a place to visit!

Food was good, had better. Been here may to times but it's been years. It lacked. Service was horrible though. Asked for an extra plate since me and my husband shared, it took our waitress another 10-15 minutes to come back asking if we needed anything and I had to remind her we asked for another plate. So our food got cold. She stood at the table next to us yapping away for a long time before remembering she was on shift. Horrible waitress. We already agreed we won't be back mainly because of of the service. Food was ok, we had better.

Some of the best food I’ve ever had! During a recent trip to Santa Fe we asked multiple locals the best restaurant in the area for food. Tia Sophia’s was the most recommended restaurant by far. We knew we had to give it a try. We were greeted by the friendliest staff and seated within minutes. We ordered a variety of foods for us all to share and every single item ordered was a hit! From the quality of the ingredients to the love and care put into each dish, it everything was amazing. You get a clear sense of family and belonging while dining here, and although we live in the Pacific Northwest, we will be coming back again for some more amazing food from Tia Sophia’s!

This is the place for New Mexican cuisine. I’ve been here a few times over many years when visiting Santa Fe and have never been disappointed. The blue corn, green chile cheese enchiladas may be my favorite meal ever. The sopapillas are great as well. Highly recommend. They aren’t open for dinner, however, so make sure you plan for lunch.

Santa Fe Bite, located in St. Michael's Village West, is a casual spot known for its burgers, Tex-Mex dishes, shakes, and local beer. Formerly known as Bobcat Bite, this popular burger joint has retained its classic burger recipe under new ownership but has also introduced Saturday-only fried chicken and New Mexican options like tacos and chalupa plates.
We've been eating at The Bite since they were out at Bobcat Crossing. They're more than just a burger joint, and have great fish and chips, chicken, and New Mexican faves. If you're in the mood for beef, try the steak sandwich. Perfectly cooked and dressed with onions and chipotle aiolii - it's delish! I ordered a side of cole slaw and a prickly pear cider to go with it. My dinner partner had the patty melt and said it was yummy. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and if you have room, the desserts are awesome!

Best Burger This place has Fantastic Burgers! Meat is nice and juicy, great topping choices. Try the Green Chili Cheeseburger. It’s Great! Fresh hot and crispy Onion rings. They have great pie selections too. This place is not to be missed!

The moment you walk into this place, there is a feeling like you are at home. Maybe because of all the plants and I'm such a plant parent. Other than that very spacious friendly and delicious food. Mind you this was a first for me and a couple of my friends. This lovely place was introduced by some good friends of ours and we went together and had a fun time. This will definitely be our go to when visiting Santa Fe and it's a must.

Wow, what a wonderful lunch we had. They started us off with house chips and salsa. We ordered a bowl of texas chili and a bowl of posole both were very tasty. The service was totally awesome as well. We highly recommend eating here as the rest of the menu looks as appetizing as what we ate.

On my quest to find the best Green Chile Cheeseburger 🍔 in New Mexico, I believe I may have found the 'Gold Standard' in Santa Fe. The burger has a great 'hand-pattied' texture and excellent beefy taste. The cheese is quentisential White American (with the proper meltiness) holding the wonderful Green 💚 Chile goodness close 🫂 to that beefy scrumptiousness! My only ding 😳🙄 is that the Chile could use a little more heat 🥵, but that's very subjective and should NOT keep you from enjoying a great burger at Santa Fe Bite!!! 😋 😍🤯

The green chili cheese burger here left a lot to be desired. Not sure why it was highly rated. The burger patty itself wasn’t seasoned at all. The green chili seemed like just plain cold canned chopped green chilis. It didn’t taste roasted or nothing. We got the fries which were little chopped up pieces of potato. We expected actual fries. It was difficult to eat potato bits with a burger. The service was really slow. And to top it off, it was really expensive. Not worth it in my opinion. There are better options.

I was looking for a quick bite while riding the SF Trail runner Trail. Being from out of town I was not familiar with places along the trail so ended up going further off trail than I anticipated. Burger was excellent, home chips good texture but not very flavorful. My waitress Karla was excellent.

Our family has breakfast once or twice a month here and it is usually good. Every time we have breakfast there is at least one issue, eggs are not cooked right, the orange juice taste rancid/sour and less sauce on the Eggs Benedict, consistency seems to be an issue. We do voice issues to the wait staff and usually it’s resolved quickly BUT for the price of breakfast it’s just not sustainable for our family anymore. Also, we never enjoy the larger tables with children blaring their games on iPads or tablets. We go out to enjoy the ambience of the restaurant and the food.

Mexican restaurant
Sazón is a popular restaurant offering elevated Latin American cuisine and specialty cocktails in a dimly lit, Mexican-themed space. It's known for its upscale, Southwestern-inspired take on traditional Mexican dishes, making it one of the city's best examples of fine dining. The restaurant is particularly famous for its moles, with the main dining room featuring a mural illustrating all the ingredients found in their New Mexico Mole.
I have been to many Mexican restaurants but this is the first time at a “high end” one and we were impressed. Service was great starting with a tasting of five different moles both to enjoy but to pick our favorites for later. The food was great and I particularly enjoyed the food of the day. Margaritas also nice. A great dining choice in Santa Fe

This place is a very overrated. Chef Fernando Olea, best Chef of the Southwest 2022 James Beard Award Winner created a very interesting menu. but nothing really stick to my palate. We started the meal with the tasting of different mole, some are too sweet to our taste. the red mole and green chile are the favorite. there's also an option of icecream before the meal. which i highly recommend you to try. it's a very interesting taste which supposed to open your palate. it contains five flavors. but i think the caramel is a bit overpowering , i was not able to catch the avocado flavor which is already pretty mild by itself. our table of 5 ordered couple things to share. actually nothing really impressed us. Cholula being the weakest, the only one dish the whole table couldnt even finish. I had their chef's signature crab soup, i was pretty disappointed. the combination of cold foam and lukewarm soup makes it not enjoyable, and the crab flavor is very weak. for main i had an appertizer Pulpo as main as i was not hungry. they messed up the order at first and i had to wait while eveyrone else was enjoying their main course. when Pulpo was served , I was very confused that on the menu it says octopus sautéed in olive oil with pork belly and thai chili. i looked through my bowl i couldnt find a single piece of pork belly or thai chili, i asked the waiter about the pork belly, and i was told that the pork belly was infused. (???) what does that mean? that's not called with pork belly , it's false advertising and i was really disappointed. the service was a bit overdone. it was trying to do white glove but they kept messing things up. we were sitting at the corner of the restaurant it was really hot and no airflow because the AC vent was blowing out and no air circulation in our corner. We asked about if there's any fan, the waiter said he will check but didnt do anything or say anything after. our table everyone was sweating the whole time couldnt wait to get out of there. it was a terrible experience in summer.

We walked in and luckily the hostess gave us what appeared to be the last table. We loved the unique atmosphere the walls have very unique paintings. Gabrielle was our waitress and gave us absolutely fantastic service. We ordered mocktails and they were brilliantly made - the food was all excellent. I ordered the duck breast in the mole negro and it arrived with this sweet potato purée that was out of this world. My wife ordered a pork loin in the spiciest mole which was tender - one minor ding is it felt like they went lite on that mole maybe they were worried we couldn’t handle the spice. Overall fantastic experience and would highly recommend.

From the cocktails to the appetizers, the entrees to the desserts, everything was top notch. Waitress Eileen was bubbly and helped us make suitable choices to our palates and dietary needs. Chef Fernando circled the room several times making sure our each course was perfect. This is a 5 star, NOT to be missed experience. The house special soup is a treat, but truly, tou cannot go wrong with the entire menu. Bravo, chef Fernando!

The service was excellent! The manager was attentive and gracious. Our server, Kirsten, was informed, charming, and elevated the experience. We began with a wonderful margarita. The chef’s soup, poblano cream with lump blue crab was superior. My salmon was less exciting (I prefer a fat filet grilled) but the excellent wine carried the entree sufficiently to arrive to the remarkable desserts! Outstanding coffee! At the end of the evening, after dining in Santa Fe’s finest for five nights, we all agreed we enjoyed most the evening at Sazon! Viva!

Interesting and fun higher end Mexican spot that is a must visit if you’re vacationing in Santa Fe. There are plenty of unusual flavor combinations throughout all the courses — especially the crab soup and which is as unusual as the reviews say. My only constructive feedback is that the palette leans too sweet, including the famous soup, duck (which had sweet potatoes purée that tasted heavily of brown sugar) and desserts. Alycia was a wonderful guide through the menu. She flexed some great wine knowledge and did a great job steering us towards dishes we would like. I would definitely return!

Sazón is definitely worth a visit. The ambiance and service are 5 stars. Unfortunately, we could not give the food 5 stars on our first visit. We opted for the Degustacion (Tasting) Menu which featured seafood, meat, soup, mole, and dessert. 5 stars for creativity and flavors. However, details like dried out pork belly (so hard to chew), overcooked duck (because it was super thin), overcooked halibut, and a chocolate drink that was too sweet brought the rating down. There is a huge wine list featuring cocktails, Mexican wines and tequila/mezcal (also had wines USA and Spain), and beers/spirits. It was nice of Chef Olea to come out and say "hello" to his patrons. Since we there celebrating a birthday, the restaurant made it extra special by serving a beautiful and very delicious dessert, La Princesa. Despite our experience with overdone food, we would give it a second chance. If you're in Santa Fe definitely consider dining at this place but maybe think twice about choosing the Tasting Menu.

I’ve eaten here many times but last night was particularly exceptional. We had the stuffed squash blossoms—one of the best appetizers I’ve ever had anywhere, and I had the fish special. The fish was so fresh and perfectly prepared. It’s literally the best fish dish I’ve ever eaten. Paired with the green mole, chef’s kiss! Of course, as always, the chef was walking around greeting every table.
