Science museum
Museums
Located in Shreveport, Louisiana, the Sci-Port Discovery Center is a 92,000-square-foot complex offering interactive science exhibits, a planetarium, and an IMAX dome theater. Visitors can explore the Space Walk and an animal enclosure featuring frogs, alligators, and snakes. The center provides immersive experiences such as stargazing in the planetarium and hands-on exhibits.
The kids had a blast and mom & dad stayed entertained during our three plus hour visit. Of particular interest was the multi-story play area, make-believe dress up areas and kids grocery/kitchen/bank teller area. They also really enjoyed the science hands-on area and steering the sail boat. The particular video we watched at the planetarium was definitely oriented towards adults. Our kids lost interest in five minutes. Perhaps other options are more kids friendly. Age level recommendations in the description of the movie would be advised.

I don't usually give 4 stars. I loved the idea of it. Loved the activities and the lay out of them the activities aren't maintained like they need to be. There were so many things my family and I couldn't do, because they were broken. Some activities were operable but almost broken. We need to see more invested into this for our youth. My kids absolutely loved this place. They obviously didn't see things the way I did, they just moved on. All and all, I would absolutely go again!
Anthony B — Google review
There's a Children's Pop Museum that is included with general admission to sci port. In the pop museum, there are many interactive activities and rooms for toddlers and small children. Some include a fashion show runway room with costumes for kids to try on, a diner (with pretend food, kitchen, and tables), a dentist office for kids to play pretend on patients, and a veterinarian clinic with real animals. This was awesome to do on a rainy day!
Arika B — Google review
Me and my kids enjoyed it here. Compared to other science centers, the exhibitions here are quite good, interactive, intriguing, has the right kind that we love, not really abundant but enough to be entertained for a few hours. Another upside is that it's not crowded at all, weird but it works in our favor. We thought it should be more crowded as this is a good museum.
Huy D — Google review
So awesome! The staff was very welcoming and they were excited to help entertain my 2 year old. The exhibits were very interesting. We particularly loved the kids area upstairs (I can't remember the name of the exhibit) and could have spent the whole day there!
Elizabeth O — Google review
We've been here multiple times over the past 10 years, in recent years though we've trip to make the trip with our boys and for some reason something is going on with it where we're not able to take them. They're closed or closed early due to some reason... the last time in june/july they closed early due to the ac stopped working. Fast forward to now, we finally got to take them and we're quite disappointed. The price was fair 10$ per person. Exhibits were shut down from flood damages or something?... The snack and gift shop closed as always (though can't remember a time when they were actually open) They added a game area downstairs for borad games. Upstairs, many of the exhibits were broke not working and the toddler area was really run down with missing toys/ parts to the other areas. Basically the kids only participated in the shopping area, water activity, anything building related and playground. They lost interest in most everything else and were bored the 2 painful hrs we stayed.
Brittany B — Google review
Great place to bring the kids for several hours. A tiny expensive to pay each time but the yearly family pass pays itself off in a few visits. Honestly not sure why it isn't more busy, I have been weekends and weekdays and it's never over crowded.
Joshua F — Google review
Fun for all ages. We were here from 12 noon until they closed at 5pm. We tried to partake in as many shows as possible. Upon arrival it was a senior woman who we paid $78 to. I asked her for advice and suggestions on what we should do first. She handed me a map and ignored me. I moved back in front of her and tried again thinking maybe she didn't hear me, so I spoke a little louder and added we have never been here before any suggestions. She says well you have the map. I also had a senior on a cane with me and two children so we just walked away puzzled. Thankfully while in the arcade area the gentleman who is in charge of the Magic/Science show sparked up a conversation with the senior in our group. He asked what we were wanting to accomplish today. After we explained to him the kids likes, he gave us a full detailed description on pretty much everything. Directed us to the exciting shows and the perfect place to tire the children out in the end. He truly saved our experience and made it fulfilled.

Additionally, the gallery boasts a diverse range of sculptures in various media such as bronze, silver, marble, and wood.
This museum requires a minimum of two hours if you are in a hurry. It is very well preserved museum and has things from 1st century A.D. A must visit when in Shreveport. This is a free museum and you don’t require tickets for this.

this place is truly spectacular. I visited from out of state and was so shocked there is no admission fee for this place (please consider donating)!! I have visited the Louvre in Paris and this place actually reminded me of it. From American art, European art, and local artists, to its absolutely stunning botanical garden, this place really blew me away with its collection. the attendants in each room are also very friendly and knowledgable- I recommend chatting/asking them any questions you have about the art.
Mabry — Google review
Great way to spend an afternoon. The art gallery is free to visit. It is stunningly beautiful with a wide range of paintings, sculptures & glass artwork.
Karen O — Google review
This lovely museum nestled among tall pine trees on 40 acres is free to visit with plenty of parking. This Shreveport staple is the largest in the city. The exhibits (American and European) range from statues to mixed media to oil paintings. Don't overlook the beautiful and serene gardens, open sunrise to sunset.
Lisa F — Google review
This art gallery has an extensive collection that blew us away. There was artwork ranging from Egyptian ruins to paintings by famous Thomas Moran, Bierstadt, Salvador Dali, etc. The botanical gardens are well kept however not currently in bloom since the weather is cooling down. The path around the gardens is tranquil nonetheless and open to the public. The museum is free, highly recommend donating on your way out. We will certainly be bringing out of town relatives back to this gem!
Emma K — Google review
A surprisingly broad collection, from European paintings to American Western art, set in a quiet gallery. The real gem is the surrounding garden, especially in spring when the azaleas bloom. It’s calm and less crowded than big-city museums, making it a pleasant cultural stop.
David W — Google review
Criminally underrated and the reviews are already stellar! Entry is free and it is just stunning inside. So many beautiful exhibits. This is a great alternative date or idea, or a great way to spend time with family. It’s just spectacular.

This establishment is filled with precious works of art, from fairly modern American artists to ancient world renowned artists. The staff are all very welcoming and knowledgeable about the artworks. Statues, busts, paintings, busts, and other works that are genuinely awesome. It is free to the public and worth paying for entrance in my opinion.

Aquarium
Zoos & Aquariums
Located in Shreveport, the Shreveport Aquarium is a small but captivating attraction where visitors can interact with marine life. The aquarium offers touch tanks where guests can feel jellyfish and hand-feed stingrays. It provides an immersive experience as visitors journey through tropical lagoons, ocean caves, shipwrecks, and vibrant coral reefs. The facility houses various species of marine life including sharks, allowing for up-close encounters with these fascinating creatures.
In celebration of my neighbor's birthday we went to the aquarium and at the time they had the "mermaids"! This aquarium was a wonderful experience! Both my neighbor and myself are nature lovers, and this facility, though it's not extremely large, has everything you would want to have a close up experience with. Many ocean creatures and fresh water reptiles and amphibians. They seem to have just about everything you would expect, and then some, of oceanic critters. The mermaids, that swam in the shark tunnel, did a wonderful job! They were beautiful, and children were amazed! And I saw they caught the attention of adult males as well! The costumes were very tasteful, the makeup bviously was waterproof and they did a wonderful job of acknowledging the visitors by close-up waving and blowing bubble-kisses, as well as swimming with the sharks. Children were fascinated and excited seeing a swimming mermaid that also saw them! There is a number of things for children to be interested in as well as adults. If you will have a great experience if take your time to absorb what all this Aquarium have to offer. You can pet jellyfish, sting rays, sea ammenomies and starfish. This facility is not a performance venue, it is not a small Sea World. It's a very nice , well maintained friendly staff nature facility. We look forward to visiting again from DeKalb, Texas!
TERRY B — Google review
Kinda pricey for how small it is, but nonetheless it's definitely worth checking out with the kids! Got to pet sting rays, sea anemones and live star fish! That was a super cool experience. Staff were so sweet and knowledgeable!
Tiffany — Google review
Came here as a fun little stop on a road trip. Nice way of getting out of the heat. Adult ticket was 21 and a military ticket was 17. Was nice to wander around and staff were really nice particularly a gentleman in the out door area who was eager to tell us more. They have two penny presses (which i collect) but instead of it being 51 cents they were 76 ☹️ other than the prices of things was a solid experience.
Gabby R — Google review
AMAZING! Loved absolutely everything about this place. I like to ask questions. Everyone held so much information and all of my questions were answered. You can really tell they take care of what you see, their aquatic life. Seahorses, sharks, stingrays! Stingrays were AWESOME! I got to touch em, they feel very exotic. They have a gel like feel to them, way cool. There are snakes, so many fish of all kind. Overall, experience was very relaxing and educational. A+ in my book!
Jennifer G — Google review
It's cool for younger kids maybe 4-10 years it's small and only takes about 30 minutes. So I believe it's a little pricey for what it is.
Stephen S — Google review
It was fun! It was a bit small for my taste but they surely made use of every square inch. We went when the mermaids were there and they were excellent! They waved to my 8 year old.
Hunter R — Google review
We went on a slow day (Wednesday). Literally felt like a VIP experience. Watched them feed the baby alligators and the sharks. Super neat. We didn't have to fight to get a spot to "pet" the stingrays, we were the only one at the pool! And they swam right up to us, so we had a great hands on experience. Aquarium isn't huge, but has a ton of cool species and audio "tours" (scan the qr code and the tanks to here about the fish, etc). We took our time and spent about 2-3 hours there.
Ashley S — Google review
Awesome experience especially when it comes to feeding the stingrays and touching live starfish for the first time. The place is clean, and the workers are friendly and helpful. We are planning on going back.

Auditorium
Event venue
The Shreveport Municipal Auditorium, a historic venue dating back to the 1920s, is a must-visit for music and history enthusiasts. This iconic building, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, has hosted legendary performances by artists such as Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, and Elvis Presley during its heyday as the home of the Louisiana Hayride radio show.
Nice historical building. Good venue for smaller events. We went to a comedy show and it was good. The seating was comfortable with no problems being able to see or hear. Parking is limited right next door but there is parking nearby.
John K — Google review
Floor seats four rows for the stage. Person on both sides of me were practically in my lap the seats were so close together. Just two inches between the seats would have made the show much more enjoyable. First and last time. Never again.
Veronica D — Google review
Great venue for a concert! The auditorium is a classic old theater with beautiful architecture. And Bonnie Raitt was fantastic!
Bill M — Google review
Been to this auditorium a handful of times and it always sounds amazing. For a hundred year old building it holds up amazingly well.
Austin B — Google review
This venue is great. Small, great acoustics, and lucky for us- historic. It brings in acts that are amazing and sadly not sold out. Live music gets inside you and this show, Brit Floyd, was really fantastic.
Shannon K — Google review
Historic Auditorium with Art Deco Architecture. Primus put on a Great Show for a disappointingly small crowd. The new Drummer is local and his brother performed a song with him and Les Claypool was a Gracious Host for what was quite possibly the most private performance of the Tour. Thanks to Shreveport for Preserving this Venue as well as the local Drummer, sorry, I don't know your name, yet! For bringing what had to be the most Powerful Psychedelic Tour de Force ever to Perform in that Beautiful Building. Good Times, Laissez le Bons Temps Roulet! Hope I spelled that right.
Gordon C — Google review
I'm going to need this place to step up their concession and drinks game. No excuse for 1 beer line on each side of venue, and all the other cash registers completely empty.Took 20 min for a beer. Other registers were not allowed to help. Ridiculous.
Mark H — Google review
We went to see the Rock Orchestra. Seating was kind of tight but able.to see the stage even if tall people are in front of you. Would recommend seeing shows there

History Museums
The Louisiana State Exhibit Museum, located just outside of Shreveport's city center, is a remarkable Art Deco-style building that offers a unique glimpse into the history and culture of Louisiana. The museum features massive frescoes at its portico, introducing visitors to the state's history of labor and economic forces. Inside, detailed dioramas depict life in swamps, plantations, factories, and oilfields.
This is a surprise to me as I assumed it was just another city/state exhibition, but it comes out almost like a true museum. The part the introducing Louisiana show windows are really good and are true art pieces. Not only the contents are rich and informational, their design and display are very considerable. Other displays, collections, artifacts are presented in good manner too. I truly recommend this place to who visit Shreveport.
Howard Z — Google review
Fantastic place to visit. The exhibits are beautifully displayed and easy to appreciate. So much to see! It’s very clean and inviting, the staff is attentive and friendly. Highly recommend stopping in for a tour of these amazing Louisiana artifacts!
Cherie M — Google review
We stopped in here to kill some time on a road trip. I'm so glad we did. It was well worth the visit. And it's just barely off the interstate. The dioramas are really spectacular. So detailed and informative. Want to learn about salt mining? Oil refining? The battle of New Orleans? Paper mills? Dinosaurs? ... All that's missing is a tabasco exhibit
John L — Google review
This is an excellent museum! It is in a very beautiful 1930s building that has been maintained extremely well. It's very clean and neat. The dioramas all around the walls are spectacular with unbelievable detail. We spent two and a half hours and didn't see it all. We plan to go back in a couple of days. Amazingly, it is free! Donations are accepted, of course.
Nancy H — Google review
A must visit. Unfortunately we were able to spend just more than an hour as they were closing at 12 pm on that Monday. It’s very well maintained museum. It’s a free museum and there is no need to buy tickets.
Divya D — Google review
Who doesn't love dioramas? This museum is full of them! It showcases Louisiana history, agriculture, industry and the arts. There is also a collection of early Native American artifacts, including a 30' dugout canoe from around 1000 AD. It's free, and very interesting.
Amy E — Google review
We thought it would be a good idea to stop at this FREE museum while on a road trip to Dallas. I highly recommend visiting this museum. It was an excellent opportunity to learn more about the state. The building is beautiful and the exhibits consists of a bunch of amazing dioramas among other things. We were really impressed and spent an ample amount of time viewing the exhibits. I had no idea that salt mining was a thing in Louisiana and enjoyed learning more about it. I'd love to stop by again if I'm back in the area.
Alicia M — Google review
Love this smallish yet very unique museum. The dioramas were astounding... absolutely mind-boggling the number of hours that went into creating them... and the talent! Other great world of art and a really interesting documentary in the auditorium. I really enjoyed this museum.

Seafood restaurant
Herby-K's is a long-standing family-run bar in Shreveport, Louisiana, known for its delicious seafood dishes such as fried shrimp, po' boys, gumbo, and the famous Shrimp Buster sandwich that has been a menu staple for over 60 years. The restaurant exudes Louisiana charm with its vibrant decor adorned with metal signs, steins, beer cans, and beads.
Food was excellent! Good sized portions, you definitely get your money's worth. Service was the best; friendly staff, who regularly check in. Small place, but I love it. Overall great atmosphere, good music, and the place is kept very clean. 5 star all the way.
Connie W — Google review
Had the Gumbo and a glass of wine. We had pleasant/immediate service as we arrived & had our choice of seating. The place wasn't crowded at all which was a plus. Soon after that we ordered our food. Restaurant was clean although the menus needed a wipe. The gumbo was delicious BUT I noted breaded okra (my fav) in it which a no no in my book. It tasted good & all in all I'd visit again as I wanted to eat different items but was headed to a late dinner & needed a snack prior to dinner (in a couple hrs).

I had a good friend bring me here for the first time last night. Great food, great atmosphere, lots of history. “Shrimp Buster” was amazing. I would definitely recommend it! I also tried a cup of the “Seafood Gumbo”, it was also excellent. Thanks guys!
Kris W — Google review
Something you have to experience while in Shreveport. Friendly staff, Shrimp Buster was excellent. Be sure to add the slaw and sauce to it. Bread pudding was probably the best I’ve ever had. I’ll be back if I am ever in the area again.
Tolliver G — Google review
My family and I ate here based on all of the amazing reviews and let me just say, Everyone was right! This place is so amazing! The service was astounding. We felt like we were well taken care of in a homey southern feeling way. Absolutely comfort food and the best etouffee and bread pudding oh my goodness! If you like fried pickles and tartar sauce you are in for a treat! This will be the best you have ever had!
Amanda G — Google review
Service was slightly slack. The gumbo was not as good as I remembered, but i should have ordered something different. The fried pickles were salty but good. The onion rings were good but I have had better. Great beer selection!
Elizabeth O — Google review
Stopped in based off friends recommendations. Based off all the hype I had to try the Shrimp Buster and onion rings. Onion rings were great, fresh and just the right amount of batter, not too much. Shrimp Buster was good, just didn't wow me the way I thought it would. The bread pudding was awesome! Would like to stop back in and try a few other things that caught my eye on menu. Staff was great!

Cajun restaurant
Marilynn's Place is a lively Cajun-Creole eatery located in the Broadmoor neighborhood of Shreveport, Louisiana. It offers classic options such as po' boy sandwiches and housemade beignets. The restaurant hosts a wild Sunday brunch from 10 am to 2 pm, featuring creative specials and bottomless drink options.
We kicked off my dad’s vacation with a visit to Marilynn’s Place, and it couldn’t have been a better choice. This place captures the heart and soul of Louisiana cuisine. Soffia loved her kids’ shrimp platter—crispy, fresh, and perfectly portioned. Jake’s chicken jambalaya was bold and flavorful, packed with just the right amount of spice. Sam devoured the red beans & rice, a true Southern comfort classic. My dad went straight for the seafood gumbo, which was rich, hearty, and loaded with flavor. As for me, the crawfish étouffée was absolutely incredible—creamy, savory, and full of that authentic Louisiana taste. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service made us feel right at home. If you’re looking for a spot that serves real Louisiana flavor with heart, Marilynn’s Place is it. We’ll definitely be back!
Jason M — Google review
The food and vibes at Marilynn’s Place are amazing. I highly recommend going on Wing Wednesday. I had the honey Cajun wings and pepper jack Mac and cheese special. When I say it was GOOD, good, I mean it. This place feels like going over your favorite cousin’s house, the one that can COOK and makes you feel right at home. I also recommend the beignets and coffee!
Seaira C — Google review
Exactly what I was looking for in Cajun food. I arrived during Sunday brunch and ordered the fried catfish and cheese grits and also added a bowl of seafood gumbo. They treat you like family here and there is indoor or outdoor seating available. I will put this on my list of places to revisit when I am passing through town. 5 stars!!!
Jerret — Google review
When we originally showed up, it was only breakfast food being served. We politely declined and told them that we would come back. Of course they were thinking we wouldn’t come back, but we came back for lunch. We ordered fried catfish platter and I got a half shrimp Poboy and the other half seafood gumbo they were still waiting on the rice for the gumbo so they asked me did I want to get a different type of rice? I told them no I would wait and since it was such a long wait time they not only brought us been gays, but also gave us a gift card for the long of the weight The atmosphere the environment. Amazing they make you feel so down to earth and at home. We will definitely be back

An Authentic Taste of Cajun Country in Shreveport! As a proud Lafayette native, I can tell you I know a thing or two about real Cajun food. For the past 11 years, I've stuck to cooking at home because I couldn't find a place that did it right in these parts. That all changed when I finally stopped at Marilyn's Place. Don't let this little hidden gem fool you; you could drive by it a dozen times without realizing what a treasure it is. But trust me, it is absolutely worth checking out. If you're craving genuine Cajun cooking, this is the closest you'll get without me inviting you over for a home-cooked meal—or making the drive down to Acadiana!
Richard D — Google review
Since we wanted to try so many things on the menu we decided to order 2 combos so we each could choose 2 different meals. We tried the Curried Fried Catfish, Fried Shrimp Remoulade Poboy, Crawfish E'touffee, Seafood Gumbo, Bread Pudding, and Beignets. Everything was delicious. Our favorite was the Curried Fried Catfish and the Gumbo. The Gambinos French Bread used to make the Poboy was soft and fresh. The portions were good size, we had leftovers and made sure to get to go boxes so we could take with us to enjoy the rest later. Another thing that makes this restaurant a 5 star experience is the staff!! So many restaurants nowadays lack in customer service but not this one. The team members at this restaurant go above and beyond and you feel like they genuinely want to help you. They chat with you like you're old friends. The owner, chef/manager, and Elise (host) were absolutely wonderful. I'm posting pictures with this review, sorry some pictures were taken after we started eating. 😋

Ok, my favorite cajun in Shreveport!I went with the "pick 2" for options. The etoufee didn't have the spice that was at gumbo 2 geaux BUT overall had way better consistency, meat, structure than the other place, I just added a little hot sauce.. delicious. The jambalaya was a little "thicker" than I make it but it was fantastic! Something I could eat every day. Nice staff, cool little drink/ cocktail/beer bar inside. If you haven't had the Reasonably Corrupt, the dark beer hits on all cylinders and goes great with the jambalaya!

Wanted some authentic Louisiana style food so where did we find ourselves? At Marilynn’s Place! A beautiful home my girl Marilynn has built for her loving fans and customers. I ordered a fried shrimp poboy 8’ that was INCREDIBLE to say the least… but I won’t say the least. I’ll say the most. The remoulade sauce was amazing and really gave the sandwich the kick that satisFRIED my cravings. And the pickles on the sandwich were chefs kiss. The sandwich was HUGE and I didn’t know if I could finish it because the portion was great but the crispiness of the shrimp and the balance of sauce was so beautifully delivered that I found myself taking many more bites than I probably should’ve. The only bothersome thing was a lot of flies around the establishment. We were inside and because of the flash floods that were happening outside the garage door was closed but the flies were swarming. Didn’t stop me from chowing down tbh. But lastly, if you could visit Marilynn’s Place and order only one item it BETTER BE THE beignets. I’ve literally never had a better beignet in my life (this was the second one I tasted so standards are high). One bite of a Marilynn’s Place beignet and it changed my life. I saw my future shining so brightly after one bite into this amazing Louisiana delicacy. Boy was it bright! Also I started talking in a southern accent because Y’ALL this beignet CHANGED ME! Also the staff was wonderful. Check this place out!

Restaurant
If you are looking for a fun, lively atmosphere in which to enjoy some delicious French-inspired southern cuisine, Fat Calf Brasserie is the perfect place. With live music and an ever-changing menu, this restaurant has something for everyone.
First visit last night. Amazing cocktails, amazing focaccia appetizer, and amazing entrees. I had the Ember Carrots (an appetizer) and the Roasted Tomato Soup (a special), and they were {{chef's kiss}}. The Pecan Custard Tart was good but would be better served warm. We sat inside at the bar and really appreciated the friendly, responsive professionalism of the bartenders Connor and Cat (hope I spelled those correctly). All the staff were friendly and professional, attentive and responsive. The building and its available dining space are small. This contributes positively to the cozy ambiance, but it is also why one MUST make a reservation. This is not the kind of place that can take walk-ins. There's not enough convenient parking. Street parking is available but not exactly friendly. I recognize that's limitation of the property and the area so it's not really a criticism - more an observation. While this is not an issue for me, it is worth noting that the restaurant is not super accessible-friendly. Limited convenient parking, narrow walking spaces within the building itself, not-exactly-convenient toilet access if you choose to sit on the outside patio - not exactly wheelchair or mobility-aid friendly. That critique notwithstanding, our experience otherwise was super positive. We plan to return, and we look forward to our next visit!

Very good! In from Houston on business. My server Andrew was fantastic. The chicken breast was delicious and the truffle fries. I’d give the brussels 3/5, the lemon tart was sooo yummy! It’s hard to find nice restaurants in the Shreveport area, so this was a treat. This is where I will come from now on.

Very unique and interesting place. Several interesting food choices. Lots of selection. The whole place was very clean, even the bathroom. The inside was a bit noisy for us, but the patio outdoor seating was great. Our waiter seemed to be kind of new, but was super friendly and helpful.

The staff was so kind and attentive. We were seated in the mosaic room, which was much better for carrying conversation than many of their other tables. The food was all amazing! We will absolutely be return customers. Fat Calf was such a great restaurant at which to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary.

I was in town for work and stumbled upon this hidden gem on Google—what a find! Everything is locally sourced and truly farm-to-table, which was evident in every bite and sip. Kat and the other bartender (whose name unfortunately escapes me) were exceptional—welcoming, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about sharing the story behind their ingredients. The food was outstanding, the service top-notch, and the atmosphere incredibly cool. Trust me, this is a spot you don’t want to miss—you’ll thank me later 😉

Went with a group of friends. Everything we ordered was very good. Nice wine and beer selection. Our waiter Max was excellent, incredibly knowledgeable with regards to many menu questions and there were a lot, my friends can be challenging to say the least. He handled it with extreme patience and a smile. Give the man a raise! You won't be disappointed eating here.

We had a lovely dinner at this place. It’s definitely a special occasion restaurant. Excellent wine selection and the food was truly delicious. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. The wait time for the food was really really long, but we did not mind this as we were with friends having a wonderful visit. If you’re hungry and don’t have time to spare I’d say go somewhere else. If you want to sit and drink wine and chat up your friends, excellent choice.

We were a group of 6, sat outside on the patio. We ordered cocktails and enjoyed some appetizers (moules & frites, Brussels sprouts, peppers), tried several entrees (burgers, quail, steak frites), and ordered all four dessert options on the menu. Food and service was great, our server (Joe) took care of our table AND trained newer staff. She rocks! It’s a small restaurant so call a day ahead to reserve if you want early dinner seating inside for a group of 4+. I’ll be back at this restaurant next trip to Shreveport.

Nestled in the charming southern neighborhood of Shreveport, Bella Fresca is an upscale bar and eatery that radiates a warm and inviting atmosphere. This delightful spot offers an eclectic menu brimming with internationally inspired dishes, making it a perfect choice for any occasion. Whether you're planning a romantic date night or a lively gathering with friends, Bella Fresca caters to all dining experiences. The restaurant frequently updates its menu to keep things fresh and exciting, featuring seasonal specials that highlight unique flavors.
My recent visit to Bella Fresca was nothing short of exceptional. The service was impeccable, with the staff attentive and friendly throughout the evening. We started with a couple of appetizers, and they set the tone for the meal. The flatbread was perfectly crisp and flavorful, and the salmon was cooked to perfection—absolutely delicious. For the entrée, I had the pork chop with peaches, which was a standout dish. The combination of tender, juicy pork with the sweetness of the peaches was both unique and satisfying. To top off the evening, I indulged in the peanut butter pie for dessert, and it was divine. Creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced—it was the perfect ending to an amazing meal. Bella Fresca is a must-visit for anyone looking for a refined yet approachable dining experience. I’ll definitely be returning soon!

Stopped by to for the new Happy Hour. There is not much parking and I honestly drove past it twice. Glad I found this hidden gem. Very nice environment. Small establishment but worth trying. The bartenders/servers were friendly. My ranch water was perfectly made. I'd never had brussel sprouts, but these were 10/10. The hamburgers sliders were full of flavor.

This was our first time @ Bella Fresca, and I must say we were not disappointed. The food & atmosphere were amazing. Our server, Sasha, was knowledgeable and had a great personality. My husband and I were celebrating our 8th anniversary, and this was the perfect spot for that.

Went here after looking for a place to host my wife's 50th birthday 🎂. They were very accommodating from start to finish. The staff was very professional and very friendly, and please do not let the building size fool you. The food was INCREDIBLE! Not only the taste of the food but the presentation of each plate had our guests wanting to sample one another's plate. It was a bit loud, but that's because it was a packed house. This place is CLEARLY one of the best kept secrets of Shreveport and my wife and I will be returning for date night. Again I thank you for making her birthday dinner a VERY memorable night. Mongo.

It was a great first impression until our server wasn’t Sasha. He had a great personality. The pasta was undercooked and server we had didn’t even tell us the specials or anything. But again next time we go if we do, we are gonna ask for Sasha! Super friendly and upbeat and very personable

My wife , daughter, son-in-law went for dinner for my wife’s birthday. The food, drinks and service were all impeccable. Dishes included filet mignon, strip steak , lamb chops, and sea bass along with Dubai chocolate cheesecake. Our server was amazing! A little pricey but we don’t splurge like this often. Can’t wait to go back.

Mexican restaurant
Restaurant
Ki' Mexico is a trendy, family-owned cantina in Shreveport's Highlands district. Founded by two Mexican brothers, this laid-back eatery offers specialty tacos, flan, and margaritas. The restaurant started with their mom selling her salsas at local farmer's markets and has since expanded to a bustling brick-and-mortar location. Ki' Mexico has gained a devoted following over the years by introducing new dishes and drinks, including plenty of vegan and vegetarian options.
The food was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. My salmon tostada was so freaking good. Everything tasted super fresh. I highly recommend the hibiscus tea. The outdoor seating was nice and decorated with plants.

Today was my first time visiting this restaurant and I would highly recommend. I ordered the Poblano and Pastor Al Granor taco. They were both delicious! I also ordered the guacamole with chips and salsa for an appetizer. I ordered the Banana Flan for dessert and that was also delicious as well. Our waiter was also very kind and knowledgeable in regards to the menu. I forgot his name, but he was a tall caucasian guy. All in all I would recommend this restaurant. 10 out of 10!

I recently visited Ki’ Mexico, and while the wait to be seated wasn’t too long, the overall experience was disappointing. From the start, the service fell short. Our waiter wasn’t attentive and didn’t seem interested in providing good customer care. I asked for a small thing of butter to dip tortillas in, and he flat-out refused, saying they couldn’t do that. I then ordered the mushroom quesadilla and asked if steak could be added to it. Instead of even checking with the kitchen or manager, the waiter told me that I wasn’t allowed to add to the meal because “their food is awesome the way it is served.” I asked if he could at least ask, and he still refused. That level of unwillingness to help really set the tone for the evening. On top of that, he never once checked if we needed refills on our drinks, which is basic service. The menu itself is very small, and honestly, there aren’t a lot of options to choose from. We ordered an appetizer, but it didn’t arrive until after we had already finished our main meals, making it pointless at that stage. The food also took quite a while to reach the table, and when it finally came, the portions weren’t very large, so the wait didn’t feel justified. Another negative was the cleanliness. Our table was sticky when we sat down, likely from a spilled drink left from the customers before us. That should have been wiped down properly before seating new guests. As for the food, the mushroom quesadilla itself wasn’t very good, though the other dishes we tried were just okay. Nothing really stood out as exceptional. Given the lackluster service, the limited menu, slow timing, and overall experience, I can only give Ki’ Mexico 2 stars.

Hands down the BEST tacos I have EVER had! Flavor that will knock you out of your chair, trust the menu, and no substitutions. Salsas are full of flavor and spice 💯

The food was phenomenal. The service was lacking. This is not a place I'd go if I were in a hurry. I order tortillas W/ butter at every Mexican restaurant I ever go to - To be told I couldn't have butter, that it was "only for the cooks" made ZERO sense to me .. despite asking to speak to someone 3 times - no manager ever came by to address our concerns .. the Chip and Salsa "flight" appetizer ( Chips /Salsa are not complimentary- there is an $8 bottle of salsa available for purchase) ARRIVED AFTER we were ¾ through eating our tacos. Pointless. The ELOTE' is probably the best I've ever had - EITHER SIDE of the border. The hongo quesadilla was particularly tasty - my only disappointment was that it wasn't huite la coche .. I don't want to name our server by name in case it was just an off day for him - but I was not impressed with his service, or lack thereof - luckily there was a server there who stepped up, helped us out tremendously, and is probably the deciding factor as to whether we return. If you're audacious enough to put NO SUBSTITUTIONS - OUR FOOD IS EXCELLENT AS IT IS on your menus - you'd better come correct ... I don't particularly care for that level of arrogance and lack of desire to please- which was made clear by our server ... had I been dining by myself, I'd have left before ordering ... Truly glad I didn't- only because the food is, indeed, top notch. So if bougie and snooty suits you - or you can tolerate it - THE FOOD is ALMOST worth it.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere and a wonderful outside patio with air conditioning outside! They also have happy hour from 4p-7p. Very creative food and craft cocktails.

Over-priced for average flavor. Tried the enchilada with chicken special (not our first choice we came for Al Pastor tacos but they ran out with plenty of hours left til closing), problano sandwich (I think it's called), quac dip, 4 salsas, quesadillas and a side of shredded chicken- since the kids didn't enjoy the quesadillas ($10 for about a cup of average flavor shredded chicken). The quesadillas tasted like sandwich meat. The guacamole was bland and seemed like it just looked good with pumpkin seeds (I think they were pumpkin seeds). The waitress was okay but didnt check in with us enough for refills. They did have a live music session which was a nice atmosphere. But that overall experience doesn't measure up to the over $80 price tag when the chips, salsa and guacamole were all complimentary. And if they were not complimentary then that's an even worse prospect.
