Good sermon, beautiful service and music, but the people in the congregation did not appear to be very warm and welcoming—I could barely get a smile out of anyone and it felt more like an uppity social club than a place where the Holy Spirit dwelled. May give it one last try since the service was so good and I am able to commune with the Lord, alone, while there, but the fellowship is definitely lacking.

My little granddaughter goes to 3 year old school here. Her teachers are good and seem to really care. I went to a little graduation program there. It was wonderful to see all the children participating and all the adults involved.

I am very grateful for the First united Methodist church Shreveport Louisiana I love how they are treating the community and They Bless us on Holiday events.. great God filled place and exceptional people that care about the people....I recommend visiting and Enjoy the service....

I watch the services every Sunday morning, and I love the messages by Dr. Pat Day. This morning’s message about John Wesley was very informative and inspirational. Thank you! I also love to hear Ms. Billie with the children. One note, the choir needs to know that they are being filmed - sometimes distracting. God bless all of you for your service to Jesus Christ.

One of my first childhood memories... going to kindergarten there... this had to be... oh... 1960/61. Every Sunday, church... and often, on Wed. nights. I remember when the chapel (South of the main sanctuary) was completed... and the new (activities???) building (with the pool) was finished... oh, probably in early 1966 (and I was 10)... because we moved to Memphis just as soon as the school year was finished. I can't tell ya much more... I was a kid, and pretty much did what was expected. So much for sobriety.

They judge people and tell the people they aren't welcome in their church if they don't like the person's living conditions. In 2010, I was separated (over a year) from my ex-husband when I met my son's father and got pregnant. My son's father was also separated from his ex-wife. We was all friends and hung out together. My ex-husband, my son's father, and I all went to First United Methodist together. They kicked us out and said we can't go there because I was pregnant and wasn't married to my son's father.

Beautiful and educational sermon each week. I like learning how the Scriptures can be used in our daily lives. Mission work is a wonderful priority at this church too.💗💗💗💗💗💗

I love this church, I’ve been going since I was young. One of the most beautiful churches in Shreveport. So much history behind the Church as well. Fr. Trombetta gives great homilies, and is very welcoming. I love attending beautiful, reverent masses here every week.

We were out of luck to find the church locked when we arrived, but undeterred we did capture some great pictures of the exterior. We would have enjoyed seeing the inside since we heard so much about, perhaps our next visit will be more complete.

The more I think about it, the more it bothers me. I’ve come to this church a couple times but last Sunday I experienced something very disappointing. We saw someone having a medical situation that required immediate attention because it seemed to be a cardiac arrest and while some people came over to help the man, the priest acknowledged the situation by saying there were enough volunteers and he just kept going like nothing was happening. I am so very disappointed that he reacted that way… maybe he doesn’t have the medical knowledge and that’s okay but he decided to ignore the emergency. As the lead of the church I think he should have reacted different because this person black out in front of our eyes and what the priest was saying was definitely not a priority.

This is a new church built next door (across the street) from their existing campus. It is a Mega Church! It is Huge, with a seating capacity of 1000 (approx) it is going to be Beautiful!! I think they want to be open before summer. Praise be to God, that He be Worshipped and Glorified in this new facility! Proud and Humbled to be working on His Church Building!!

I was traveling from Dallas to Lafayette, LA and chose to stop at this cathedral very last minute (knowing it may not be unlocked). I happen to come on an evening when there was an assembly going on at the school next door. I explained my situation, and asked the right person about letting me in to pray for a few minutes (my seminarian friend told me it was beautiful - and he wasn't wrong!), and she hesitantly agreed! I am forever thankful to her! What a beautiful Cathedral! St. John Berchmans, pray for us!

Great service. The pastor is easy to follow. My young grandchildren could follow him and understand. It was very inspiring. The message was timely and much needed. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the worship team was amazing!!

A great place to worship and learn more about God. Only thing is praise and worship team is not equal there are only 2 main singers one guy that stays in the middle and the other guy that plays the guitar. We are in the house of the Lord where their should be equal opportunity for everyone we would love to hear the women more and the other guys ✨, please take my feedback as consideration to change and allow them to sing more on Sundays and change the song patterns (same patterns) we would love to hear them too. WOGM offer multiple services options Sunday. The congregation is helpful, informative and so very friendly. I went alone but instantly felt included and comfortable. The praise service drew me in and opened my heart and mind. When pastor McMenis started preaching I could feel the Lord speaking through him. He knows the Bible and even explained what the words ment in Hebrew and Greek. I loved the service and will be going back when Im in Louisiana

Do you ever just realize that you need something? I did not find RiverPark, but RiverPark found me. I was diagnosed with advanced stage 3 cancer when they did. A connect group made me a care basket while I endured chemo and radiation. Their kindness made me feel welcomed and wanted.

We only recently discovered Riverpark Church and are happy we did. It has a unique and welcoming vibe and welcoming people! The pastor was even out in the courtyard greeting. The music was incredible and both sermons had a great balance of complexity and relatability. Can't wait to see what's next.

I was at River Park Church this past Sunday (father's day 2024). It was an experience I had never had before. I am a spiritual person searching for the true spirit in me that I had lost. I was not struck by a thunder bolt when I went to a service. But I did see a vision of the circle/tribe of people in this community. I am in hopes to meet members of all sort. Blessing to my Brother and Sister in Christ. I was invited by my sister-in- law to come to Word of Life Center to hear Pastor Sam Carl preach, this past Sunday. Man I was very impressed from the moment I walk in the sanctuary it was different from all the main steam church at this point at I have visited. started from the door greeters, who was very friendly, as I walk in to the foyer area it have a coffee/cappuccino section and a small bible books section, Hey that was totally different for me. And when I walk in your main sanctuary in look like a movie theater Hey! that I was impress. But the Best was yet to come, starting with the Beautiful music and singing. Then the Preaching from Pastor Sam Carl, coming from the book of Genesis 1:1 to Genesis 1:3. As a preach and a self made scholar I have study in the book of Genesis for the past years and a half breaking down Genesis scripture on the third earth principal. Pastor Carl talk was very precise and refreshing to hear. But over all I enjoyed myself be there this past Sunday. Accurate, solid Bible teaching that faithfully grapples with current events and real life. Friendly congregation with a robust Sunday School program for kids and adults.

Small Group leaders were talking negatively about a previous member during time that was supposed to be dedicated to talking about the bible. They cultivate a bad environment in the church and are giving a bad example for those they are supposed to be mentoring. Not a good environment for those looking to be included or to create bonds with other christians

There is something about this church that moved my spirit to tears on more than one occasion. The choir is phenomenal! The pastor's teachings are enriching! The people there are warm, friendly and inviting. I can't wait to get to know the church and the people within it better.

Spanish Mass is well attended but not crowded. Reverent Mass and humble bilingual priest. Good homilies and ample parking. The buildings are old but well maintained.

I recently attended a funeral there of a sweet little lady that will be missed dearly. That's the only time I have ever been in this church.

Went for pet clinic. They were well prepared for quick and accurate services and I thank them so much for hosting this clinic. Yeah for Southern Hills Animal Hosp and staff.

Was there for the blessing of the pets and it was a great time. The dogs and wife and I enjoyed our time together.

A great church with several options for mass.

Strong pro-life, pro-family parish. Lots of little kids and parishioners that love them. Rocking chairs in the back for the parents of the littlest among us. I'm encouraged to see the community standing strong against the evil of abortion and supporting families of all sizes.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton is the place I practice my faith! I sing in the Choir. I get you do the Readings sometimes, it is a joy and an honor to go to Church there.

Wife and myself went to watch our grand daughter at their property today . Play some soft ball, I was really impressed at how their sports fasilities were set up. It was like a professional field. And everyone got along really great. We were greeted by some of the staff that was there, this is an awesome place to play . And I would assume to worship our lord also. GREAT PLACE

My son who is now 40 years old went to school here. It was a wonderful experience. The curriculum was amazing and top of the class. To this day I still remember many things “I “ learned from Mr. Burns class! 😊 God continue to bless these teachers and everyone that make up this academy.

From the start. People are warm and welcoming. When i first started going, I was made welcome and encouraged. Two people came later the next week and we had a good visit( filled out the visitor card). I am now a member and really enjoy the Journey Sunday school group and Brother John the pastor. The church has a heart for GOD. Is it perfect? No, but then the church is made of unperfect people, trying to be more like Christ!.

We were new to the area and Calvary welcomed us like family. Our daughter goes to the private school there and it's amazing. Small classes, great teachers.

Both of my kids attend Calvary Baptist Academy and have since Kindergarten. They will be there all the way to 12th grade! The best private school in the Ark-la-Tex. Amazing teachers and all around curriculum. Well worth the money without a doubt! Absolutely love everything about CBA!!!

My son plays with the 10 year old cavalry football team. The coaches and atmosphere is great for the kids and they have fun. At the end of each practice a bible verse is shared with the kids. Also the coaches and kids pray after practices.

I went to a performance of the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra at the First Baptist Church and hsve to say it was one of the nicest evenings of entertainment in a long time. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and the acoustics for the excellent orchestra and soloist were also very good. Music included renderings from Moxart and Schubert to Radiohead. The Shreveport symphony is well worth attending even for newbies to "classical" music and nobody should feel excluded because their experience has not YET extended to classical composers. It is just the rock concert of those years!

They have been such a friend to the arts. Played our concert here with the Centenary Wind Ensemble this past week. Beautiful facility!

God allowed me to smell the prayers, but the prayers were stagnant. Congregation looking for entertainment, not the Truth. The church does not follow KJV. Kind of disappointed.

This church has literally changed my life. The “Community” part is exactly what this church is. When I was in my deepest loneliest pit, this community helped pick me up; they wouldn’t let me fall. No words can adequately express how thankful I am for Shreveport Community Church.

SCC is truly a place of worship, holiness, and community. From the worship team, to the pastors, as well as the kid’s service, my family has had such an amazing, life changing experience by going to this church. We have met the most loving people and friends that have helped my family grow closer to God. The pastors and church members go above and beyond to make sure each visitor feels like they are apart of the SCC family. This church not only offers a diverse selection of community groups to be involved with, but also has a huge heart for kid’s ministry as well.

I have been at SCC my entire life! I am so thankful for the community of my church. No matter the season of life I have walked thru they have been there-the hard times, grief, celebrations - the Pastors have walked thru it all with me! No matter What season of life you are in - young kids, teens, young adults, empty nesters, or retired- There is a place for you ! If there is any place that will make you feel at home and loved by everyone standing around you it is Shreveport Community Church!! This place has been a saving Grace for my children and me. Since coming here my kids have wanted to start doing everything they can with this church. From doing youth church every Wednesday, to attending VBS and even my 14 yr old son wanting to help work VBS with me and the amazing people that help make it happen for our children. And the children’s service they have that goes on during the main service is amazing! My youngest use to always want to come with me to service,but we were able to get her to try the kids service one Sunday and she has been in love with it ever since! I will ask her does she want to come with me and she tells me mom I’m a big girl I’m going to go with all my friends.And the service team they have to take care of the younger ones is absolutely amazing too! The love these lady show the kids is enough to make your mommy heart melt. They also hold a deal called SISTERHOOD and if you have never been to one you need to go!

Pastor Rodney and Pastor Denny are truly anointed. There is nothing fake about feeling the Holy Spirit the very first moment that I entered God's House. The Holy Spirit wrapped His arms around me and led me to the front row pew. I stayed right there for many years. I don't go now due to circumstances but I yearn to go and worship my Lord. I love this church! The children’s pastor is amazing…the youth group & their pastors are on fire for the Lord…and our lead pastors are incredible teachers…everyone in your family can find a place to learn & grow in their relationships with God!

My grandmother is unfortunately living here and I’ve been calling religiously to complain the staff here is BLATANTLY committing elder abuse. I work for the state of Oregon and I am calling the Louisiana DCFS regularly and looking at alternative options to get her out. My grandmother broke her arm there, they openly admitted it was from their floors. They also waited hours before taking her to get medical care and did not inform my family until later, then waited even longer for her to be seen. Previously they left her on the floor for over 8 hours after she fell. They are always lying to my family about things that are happening saying they will call and don’t. We’ve tried to get her moved but it was some how “magically” the requests were blocked and we couldn’t. We are still pursuing moving her because this place should be shut down. They don’t even pronounce my grandmothers name correctly when they see her daily, which is the bare minimum when it comes to basic respect and decency. The nurses are consistently absent and my grandmother is left covered in urine for hours or her arm is out of the sling. They are so obvious in their lack of care it is deplorable. Again I am a state employee so I know how unacceptable this facility is and I know how to run it up the chain. My department investigates child abuse and elder abuse and just from my families situation alone, I know this facility will not have a leg to stand on. The way they behave is unethical, immoral, inhumane and despicable. The staff and manager say they will call my mom back and then don’t for days. There have been consistent issues here for a long time and they won’t let us transfer my grandmother to somewhere that actually cares. It is so apparent the staff does not care about the well being of the folks there, and you can tell upon walking in the building how much disdain their is for the patients. They gaslight my grandmother saying she was a sleep, when she wasn’t and an aide refused to help her check in for a doctors appointment. I’m taking significant action and at the bare minimum this place will be investigated and with the broken arm situation and admission, there will be more to come. Y’all can’t get away with treating people like this and I’m not only advocating for my grandmother but for all the people who unfortunately live in this facility that may not have someone in their corner. ***To the anonymous reviewer from 3 weeks ago please reach out and I would love to speak with you on your experience as I am gathering evidence and documentation. Like I stated in the review, I’m familiar with state policies and would love your on-site on the deplorable conditions.

They don't even deserve one star so I'm not going to give them anything. They leave my husband wet all the time. Everyday when I get there he is wet and no one knows who has him. They keep him laying in poop from front to back then they want to charge all that money.When you tell someone they do good for a minute then they'll go back to the same routine

Looking for a great place for your loved one, check out Pilgrim Manor. They have a wonderfully skilled inpatient and outpatient therapy department. They also offer short and long term care. With a very loving and caring staff, what more can you ask for.

My mom was here a 100 days , this place was Awesome, from the housekeeping, wound care , all nurses, CNA”s , physical therapist, in the DON, thanks for taking care of my mom , Lashetia is the Best , keep up the good work, will definitely go back , GREAT JOB

I guess the deleted my last review as I can’t find it to respond to the owner. Terrible. My mom was here 5 years. She fell several times, was in hospital for UTI several times and the last time she was septic by the time they got her to the hospital. They also let all of her teeth rot out. So sad. We moved mom and she is like a different person now. Dear Owner, we tried resolving issues with your facility for 5 years. It’s a joke! Here is what I said in my first review: a week ago Don’t let the fancy care facilities fool you! My mother was in one of their facilities and within 5 years, she stopped communicating and all of her teeth were gone. No matter how we pleaded for them to care for her oral hygiene and she was supposedly on a dental plan, they did nothing. She had beautiful teeth. She also almost died of sepsis due to an ignored bladder infection which led to blood infection which put her in the hospital. This was not the first time they had ignored her and she was put into the hospital. Such a sad place. Don’t put your loved ones here! My mother stopped talking while at their facility. We moved her to a new facility where she is actually conversing with us again and she knows us! I don’t know what they were doing to her. All I know is she is more alert and speaking again since being moved.

I just was sent here today from the hospital. My initial impression is not good. My room is not very well maintained with old peeling paint & scratches on woodwork. I don't have a private bathroom but have to share a bathroom with room resident next door. This makes me very uneasy with the Covid virus situation. The bathroom has an ant infestation problem too. I was told not to ring the call bell because they only do patient care every two hours here. They were reluctant to get me a potty chair since I can't walk far to the bathroom. But I finally got one. A group of musicians from the Shreveport symphony performed a concert of Baroque music . There was supposed to be a clavichord on a couple of the tunes , but the instrument was not available . Still , the concert was very good and all the musicians played well .

Church is beautiful. Wedding was beautiful what we could see. I have attended big churches /Sound system was bad.

Clergy is Christ-centered. Intentional and thoughtful about everything they do. I've experienced a very restful two years.
