Art museum
San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts is a small yet impressive center that showcases contemporary ceramics and Mexican religious art. The museum's collection is unique, with a focus on local artists. Admission to the museum is free, and visitors can enjoy the exhibits within 40 minutes. The staff at the museum is helpful and willing to explain things, adding value to the overall experience. Additionally, visitors can appreciate street art in Paintbrush Alley and Art in Uncommon Places nearby as an alternative form of expression.
I was in town on business and had some time to kill. The staff is very friendly and happy to share information about the museum and the artist. Most are local works, and some pieces were available for purchase. I would recommend going when they have an opening of a new exhibit.

Museum of Fine Arts. I visited this museum a few years ago and returned to see the room that highlighted a local artisan, but it is no longer there, so I was disappointed. However, the picture of The Vision of St. Francis by Cristobal De Villalpando from 1695 made the visit to the art museum worth it.
Lisa B — Google review
Such a nice art museum. They have 2 floors and a cute gift shop. For now, the bottom floor is western themed art, and the top is a collection of hats from around the world. Cheap tickets, and a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
Virginia O — Google review
Loved that the entry to the museum was free! It is small but has some really beautiful exhibits! Great place for all ages to enjoy! The mixed media and sculptures were definitely my favorite part of the museum! I hope to see it expand more one day as the artwork there is magnificent!

Great museum, very organized with helpful employees.
Nerea T — Google review
Admission was free so I can’t complain! Only took about 40 minutes to look at all the exhibits. I loved the focus on local artists. But I honestly like the street art better found in Paintbrush Alley and Art in Uncommon Places!
Morghan T — Google review
Really good find for me in San Angelo close to their river walk. It’s mostly a pottery place and not a lot of selection or broad spectrum but lots of cute local artists to see. Very quaint, small town art feel.

This place was so good.. we happened to be there when they were opening a new display.. music, food, drinks and art!! What wonderful experience. Got to talk to the artists..

Sights & Landmarks
Fort Concho National Historic Landmark stands as a testament to the pioneering spirit of the American West, once serving as a vital defense post and home to the legendary Buffalo Soldiers. Today, it offers visitors an immersive experience with its exhibits and re-created barracks that transport you back in time. The museum, which opened its doors in 1985 within the historic Quartermaster Building from 1868, has become a cultural hub for San Angelo.
Great fort site near the city of San Angelo. It is easy to walk around. Some buildings are open, and you can view the rooms which are setup with history appropriate furniture.
Lisa B — Google review
I loved visiting this historic landmark. It’s right in the middle of town so very convenient to travel to. Loved every minute of it!
Courtney B — Google review
Very neat place for a history nerd, for sure. They managed to save/re-create nearly the whole place!! Very excellent information on what it was like in late 1860s-1889... What the Buffalo Soldiers did was great!!! There's even one building that is a phone museum, with dozens of old phone and several old switchboards... 👍👍👌👌💪💪🙏🙏🙏🙏
Peter P — Google review
Very interesting experience. These folks have taken care in many details to provide an authentic experience of what life in this 19th century Fort could have been like. The grounds are original and in fantastic condition. The buildings have been meticulously restored to an amazing condition. Excellent work and effort on restoration of Army equipment including cannon and livery. There is a fantastic restoration of an Infirmary and Officer's quarters. There is an interesting exhibition of antique telephone, and telegraph with some very fine antique phones on display. The entrance fee was 3$ and well worth the time to visit. Super impressed by the efforts involved here.
Herbert H — Google review
Awful, humiliating experience. They have several buildings at the site to explore. We came at 4pm. We were greeted properly and were warned that they would start closing buildings at 4:30pm. After we finished the visitor's center at 4:11 pm we found Barrack #5 locked, then headquarters locked... Very frustrating. Maybe there were more fun and interesting things to explore, but what we saw was not exciting at all. Though the history of phones exhibition was interesting.
Michael U — Google review
We had a wonderful time taking the kids for a homeschool field trip. The people are great and very informative
Ashley B — Google review
It's being renovated so not everything was open. I enjoyed the Buffalo Soldier exhibit and the hospital the most. Would love to visit again. I plan on going to their Halloween activities in October.

Nature & Parks
Nestled just outside of town, San Angelo State Park is a sprawling 7,677-acre oasis that beckons outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. With over 50 miles of trails perfect for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding, this park offers endless opportunities to explore its rugged beauty. Wildlife observation areas provide glimpses of the diverse fauna that call the park home—over 350 bird species and numerous mammals roam freely here.
I LOVE ALL OUR TEXAS STATE PARKS. This park is a very pleasant getaway from other crowded parks. Unfortunately, most of the amenities centered on the lake. Now the lake is only 2% full from its full level. We did not see any watercraft at all (March 20, 2025.) It looked to me that the boat ramps no longer reach the water. This park is over 7,000 acres and has over 50 miles of trails. Many are open to biking and horseback riding. We stayed in the Bald Eagle campground in the northern section of the park.
Patrick C — Google review
Yes the lake is super low, but don't let that stop you from visiting this beautiful place. You'll find jackrabbits, wild boar, loads of deer, and let's also acknowledge that they have feeding times for the bison and the longhorns. Seeing bison in real life and being able to see how interactive They are with each other was absolutely amazing. The state park is clean. Their lake is low, but a great place to fish. They had told us that they stocked it with Bass, but we did not catch any bass. We ended up catching a catfish.
Nicole C — Google review
Outstanding Experience at San Angelo State Park We had an outstanding stay at San Angelo State Park! The park is beautifully maintained, peaceful, and full of scenic views. The campsites are spacious, level, and easy to access, with clean facilities and well-kept grounds. The staff were friendly, helpful, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We loved exploring the trails and relaxing in the quiet, natural surroundings. It’s a perfect place to unwind, enjoy the outdoors, and take in the beauty of West Texas — we’ll definitely be back!
Remote T — Google review
2 separate entrances. Some trails can only be accesses through one or the other. Check in at South entrance but have to get an entry code for the north side. Friendly employees. Everything was in bloom; beautiful areas. Lake level a little low.
Courtney T — Google review
We stayed here one night in site 37 in Red Arroyo campground. We have a 42ft 5th wheel. The site is a pull through and more than big enough for our truck and trailer. There is a pavilion right off one side of a paved pad. It is nice but it’s so close to the pad that we had to position the trailer just right to not hit it when the slides and also not hit the hookups on the other side. Again the site is so long that this wasn’t a huge issue but not as much shade on the trailer as we had hoped. There is a dump station in the park but trash dumpster next to it.
Chancee W — Google review
Had a wonderful time camping here over the weekend, breathtaking sunsets and stunning sunrises. Be sure to bring some form of bug spray with you though. The bathrooms close to our campsite had a wasp problem, as did the pavilion at our actual site. Even still, a good time was had for myself and the party I was with.
Bilbo — Google review
Nice playground, good hiking trails. Scenic. Campsites are large and some have covers. Cabins are Basic and have water outside. You can park your RV next to your cabin and hook up water and electric. Beautiful views and pleasant personnel. A must-see is the bison feedings, currently at 10am Wednesday and Saturday. Absolutely wonderful camphosts
Dee D — Google review
This review is based on the North Entrance and Bald Eagle campground. One restroom serves the campground. In the 2 days we camped, the restrooms were never cleaned. The shower drain in the men’s restroom is clogged and the water runs from the shower through the main bathroom and out the entrance door. The door was propped open to allow the water to exit. Given the door was open, a bird liked to stay in the bathroom and left droppings on the floor and other surfaces. Very disgusting. We tried calling the customer service number for the park but no one answers. We left a message for the general park manager. The facilities from the south entrance may be better but the north entrance area feels abandoned. Are all Texas State Parks this bad?

Garden
Nestled in the heart of San Angelo, the International Waterlily Collection stands as a testament to nature's artistry and biodiversity. This remarkable garden showcases an impressive array of waterlilies, including both beloved classics and innovative hybrids. Despite being located near the arid Chihuahuan Desert, this oasis thrives amidst Texas's diverse ecological regions.
What a great place to wander around on a sleepy afternoon. The water lily Gardens were such a treat, and so many of them were blooming. There's also the small statue park for the lady in blue, a transfigured none who appeared to the Native Americans in this area establishing Catholicism. Also, take just a little bit of time to see the rose gardens at the crest of the water lily display area
Kelly R — Google review
Came here for Mothers Day and was not let down! Caught it right there in May and it wasn’t 1 million degrees! Gorgeous collection and the variety is huge! Most only have a few but in masses. This is extensive! So many! There are some that I didn’t even know existed that I had to look up! Some even with the same name as my wife so that was special. We even ventured up towards the rose collection but most were just finishing. Either way GO! It’s free, it’s fun, and great for photo shoots! Thank you for doing such an amazing job!
Chase ( — Google review
A beautifully curated collection of water lilies! This is an easy stop in San Angelo. We parked at the edge of the garden and walked down. The fenced ponds made it easy to see the lilies up close, as well as the minnows, dragonflies and honey bees enjoying the scene. Trails here were pretty, but overgrown, and echoes of another time are felt everywhere. A great part of our morning all in all!
Jessica G — Google review
I loved experiencing this beautiful and unique garden of water lilies. I highly recommend coming to experience them in person. I did not notice a bathroom nearby so I would recommend going before you visit.

Beautiful & peaceful. Really enjoyed the large variety of plants. Its not only a lilly garden but also a butterfly & rose garden.

Just an absolutely beautiful collection. I was really surprised to find this in the middle of San Angelo. And free to boot! I'm not sure how long the flowers are out, but here in the middle of June they were blooming. My favorite were the giant Amazonian water lilly, Victoria amazonica. It was like out of a cartoon.

It was late in the year to visit but I still saw some beautiful waterlily's The park was nice and and I loved the old bridges.

The center also hosts First Saturdays with food, live music, kids activities, demonstrations, and vendor booths.
Really cool place with even cooler art. The best part though is the nice lady who opened the door after closing to let me look around for a few minutes since I was from out of town. Can’t wait to visit again!
Nina C — Google review
Such a fun place to come to, the art is amazing and the artists are so friendly. There are plenty of shops to see as well as the silo restaurant. I see myself purchasing some art here in the future. The parking can difficult as it is street and a mix of across the street parking. Overall though very fun to see all the art and crafted items.

Very impressed and happy with this place. The room was very clean and super comfortable. I felt very safe, even staying alone one night. The manager was outstanding. She was very thoughtful, efficient and friendly. She anticipated my needs I didn’t even plan for (like leaving an umbrella by my door when it rained). The property is a must-see-for-yourself amazing kind of place with a lot of gorgeous art. You’ll feel the creative vibe immediately. The restaurant has excellent fine dining, too. I had to make plans quickly due to a sudden death of a family member that lived in San Angelo. This was my first trip to San Angelo. The Chicken Farm was everything I wanted and needed. I feel so lucky to have chosen to stay here. You will love it, too. If I’m ever in San Angelo again, I will definitely stay here again.

We went to see the reptiles in the back. It was air-conditioned and I have never seen some of the lizards and snakes before. Mark was very informative about all the different species and very knowledgeable. They also had an air-conditioned craft area for kids with toys and books

Great art community. I came during a quiet time, so only a few of the artists were there to open their studios. That being said, what I saw was great, and the artists were very friendly. From what I've been told, they have live music events and first Saturday events. I'm sure this place really comes alive. I'll have to visit again sometime soon.

Whether you’re a fan of the arts or looking to get a special gift for that friend or family member the chicken farm has you covered .theres even a reptile shop and a wonderful tea shop.sign up for classes get your hands dirty let your creative juices flow get off the couch and get out to the chicken farm. We believe in supporting local artists and businesses that’s what makes this place so special to us. We are even planning to have our wedding here .

I can’t speak highly enough of this place! There is something here for everyone! I loved getting to relax and enjoy the live music while I was there! The many different artists have beautiful items of all kinds! This is a great place to shop for yourself or to find gifts for literally any person that you know! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and I felt at home while I wandered and shopped!

Restaurant
Peasant Village Restaurant, a popular dining spot in San Angelo, offers refined American dishes for dinner and gourmet sandwiches for lunch in a charming old home setting. Run by a local resident, this casual eatery has been serving customers for over 25 years in a historic building dating back to 1927. While the restaurant's lamb and quail appetizers have received high praise, there have been some minor issues with the service such as missing salads and cold fish that needed reheating.
Excellent drinks and food! The steak had great flavor and the bacon ravioli with blackened shrimp and mushrooms was divine, it was our favorite dish! Outstanding job Chef Jason, we can’t wait to return!

We celebrated our anniversary and visited for the first time tonight and everything was phenomenal! My steak was cooked to order and the drinks and dessert were amazing. The key lime pie was delicious and the execution and plating of everything was top tier. We definitely have added this to our list of top favorites and will happily return!

First time visiting, great great experience!! We went to celebrate my husband's birthday. I called them to make a reservation and to see if they could help me out and sing him happy birthday and they did :') they gave us a a little card with the Chef's signature, and the cheesecake had a candle lol. They definitely made us feel very special and so welcomed, specially us that we are military and are far away from family. They definitely made it feel like family ❤️ And the staff, everything was just perfect, friendly, calm and loved how private it feels. Thank you all for giving us such a great experience, and let's not even talk about the amazing food and the drinks 10/10!!! Thank you 🤍 AND they have 10% for military.

We went for the One Night Stand supper. It was a pretty good experience. I was able to go last minute with a friend & I do have some food allergies. The waitress & chef were very understanding. I was able to have another dish in place of the original mystery plate. We do now know that I can add in the notes about my food allergies next time. The atmosphere was nice & chill.

San Angelo, TX A welcoming city with a big sense of family and community. Known for its delicious local coffee, pleasant weather, and beautiful natural areas that invite you to relax and enjoy. Being the favorite restaurant of my future team, becoming one of my favorite ones too.
Shirley A — Google review
The staff is great and very attentive. They take great care with their specialty drinks especially their old fashioneds. The food was great and the ambiance was kinda plain but pleasant and cozy. The menu is very small- 3 appetizers, 1 salad, 5 signature dishes and this evenings dessert. They were out of the salad and one of the entrees when I showed up at 7:30pm on a Saturday so get there early if you want salad! Overall it was a nice find in the west Texas desert. Always great when you can find a chef-owned restaurant outside of the big cities.
Ted R — Google review
Let me tell you about this experience. It was super great!!! The food phenomenal, the ribeye was beyond this world and the duck was super good! They also helped make this an amazing experience and I can’t wait to go back again!
Senor R — Google review
I have been eating here for 30 years. From the emu steak that I had in 1995 to the lamb rack I just had tonight, Jason and his father have built an institution in my hometown. The menu is a bit pricey for the average person, but the value is incredible. The bartender does an amazing job with cocktails. The weight staff does a great job with recommending cocktails and wines with the various dishes on the menu. Their staff are very kind, and Jason is extremely generous with his time in the kitchen and out. I can’t recommend this place enough. It’s a part of my history.

Bar
Angry Cactus is an American bistro-inspired eatery with a Southwestern ambiance. It offers a diverse menu, including innovative options for happy hour and brunch. The establishment has received rave reviews for its impressive atmosphere, attentive service, and delectable cuisine. Popular dishes like the green chili queso and bacon cheeseburger showcase bold flavors. The homemade chips complement the flavorful queso, while the juicy burger is packed with taste.
Tried this spot for the first time today after hearing a lot about it. I got the Skinny Chicken and my Husband got the Cheddar Burger and we shared the Green Chili Queso, everything tasted great and had a lot of flavor! I also had tried the Prickly Pear Margarita, it was very tasty! It did take some time for my drink to come out but the food came out very fast! Service was good as well. Would come back again. The inside of this restaurant looked really cool! A lot to look at at!

I visited the restaurant for lunch on a Sunday and it was delicious. I enjoyed the salmon and my mother enjoyed the knife and fork burrito. I highly recommend visiting and enjoying a nice meal with family close to the wonderful art installation of a tree.

Treated to a fantastic birthday lunch to die for! The Skillet Nachos and drinks were a wonderful prelude to our main entrees. The Southern fried fish with garlic mashed potatoes was a step above and beyond our expectations. The medium rare filet was grilled perfectly, as was the antelope; both buttery tender with a demiglaze that warrants compliments to the chef.
Mitch M — Google review
This place is EXCELLENT!!! The food is fantastic, the service was wonderful and it is a really neat place over all. I had the 14 oz rib eye and it was perfectly cooked. My wife had the chicken fried steak and it was very good as well.

Beautiful place with great servers. Or waitress was excellent. Both dishes my wife and I had were great. The steak was cooked perfectly and dishes were beautiful. The Bananas Foster was delicious.
Bob T — Google review
Had the meatloaf and the chicken fried chicken. This is not your grandma's food. The meatloaf had a spicy sauce on it. It was a little more than my husband cared for but he ate the whole thing. I thought it was good. The chicken fried chicken came out as 3 smaller pieces rather than one large chunk of meat. It was good too. The smaller pieces looked like it wasn't a lot of food but I almost couldn't finish it all. I did though because it was good. This place has a great atmosphere. I highly recommend.
Belinda M — Google review
Really loud place. Have a bar area. The lights had dust all over them. Looks like the lights and the had not been cleaned in a long time. Service was slow even though they had plenty of staff. It's a noisy place so don't recommend for a nice quite place. The good was worth it all. It is a uniquely themed restaurant and has more if a sports bar vibe. But definitely go once. I recommend the chicken fried chicken. It was delicious! I would go back just for that!
Misty W — Google review
First visit was a 3 star experience. I dont remember what I got but I didnt intend to return as it felt overhyped. Im glad I had to go back because my subsequent trips were excellent. The setting is very nice and the food is great. My most recent experience was when the tacos were on special. I tried the beef and chicken ones. I think the chicken was a little better but both varieties were delicious. The rice that came along was also good but the beans were overly salty. The service is fine, everyone was friendly enough without being annoying. The angry vegan is okay- mostly avocado and some additional oiled veggies, it comes well plated and is probably quite good if youre into that. The Cajun Chicken Pasta was way better than I thought it would be. The chocolate cake we got was a nice moist chocolate but its the mexican ice cream that takes the cake here (pun not intended).

Cork & Pig Tavern is a laid-back gastropub that offers a variety of wood-fired pizzas, American dishes, and an extensive selection of wines. The restaurant is the brainchild of chefs Virginia Dalbeck, Felipe Armenta, and John Nestor. Its modern ambiance and outdoor patio make it a cool spot to enjoy gourmet pizzas like The Pig or the Mexican Chorizo.
Tasty food with good quality. Lots of variety. I got the fish and chips and it was so tasty. They also gave me a side salad instead of fries when I asked for it. The beignets were also great size and so tasty. We came with a big party and they set us up nice with quality service. Big parties will get an auto tip so check for that.

I took a long drive from San Antonio, and this place was recommended. From the door to the table it was welcoming. I had the fried calamari and it was clean fried, didnt have that dirty oil taste, and seasoned nicely. The ribeye was moist and had a nice char, also very well seasoned. The squash with pecans, and the home made mash potatoes finished it off nicely. I would reccomend this place if you are in town
Stacey M — Google review
The place had a nice vibe. If you want a diet drink you will not get it here. They only serve Coke Zero. The Deviled eggs were really good. The Chicken Caesar was soggy but the chicken had a good flavor. My husband really liked the Beef Short Rib and Mac n Cheese and the Cuban was good. We got the Pot de Crème had way too much coco powder.
Lisa K — Google review
The wait staff seems very professional. Well trained and attentive to your needs. I got the pizza and had way too much crust in the form of what you might call the bones. It was a Chorizo Pizza and it was delicious. The slice of avocado on each slice really gives a creamy punch to the pizza. It has a very nice decor inside but I did not find the seats comfortable for eating because you're in more of a relaxed posture. Too trendy...

Tonight we celebrated our wedding anniversary and we had the BEST meal, BEST beverages and BEST service!! Brandon took great care of us and Elle was a perfect front of house person. Both of them told us how everything is made in house. I had the mocktail punch which was yummy!! We ordered the rib eye which was served with acorn squash with roasted pecans. Their Parmesan mashed potatoes were so good I forgot to take a photo. The beignets were light as a cloud and served warm. We’re sad we don’t live close by but we will definitely come back again when we’re in the area.

UPDATE: Thank you Mark for taking the time to respond to my review and taking my call. I appreciate your professionalism and dedication to great customer experience. So I didn’t take a picture before I started eating so my food is half gone. But anyway, I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Went out all yesterday and tried a few spots and they were decent, nothing major. Came here for brunch and everything I had was delicious. And let’s talk about the beignets… my people are from New Orleans so we know good beignets and these… neck and neck. Minus the drizzle. The caramel was not my favorite. The brunch hash was delicious. Our server was Seyanna and she was great. Very helpful and honest about the food. Everything she recommended was worth the buy. No complaints. Also, if you get the brunch cork and pork hash, get the green salsa with it. It hits!

The Grill is a relaxed pub in San Angelo that offers a diverse menu inspired by the Southwest. With an array of entrees and an extensive wine list, this celebrated restaurant also boasts TVs and handcrafted cocktails. Customers can enjoy a delectable brunch starting with a mimosa and country potatoes, although some may find the prices for sides slightly steep. The bartender comes highly recommended for providing suggestions such as their renowned French toast or tasty fish tacos.
What wonderful cozy restaurant. It is tight but inviting. The service was top notch. The menu has a great variety of food. The appetizers... especially the cornbread ...superb! The steaks were tender and perfectly seasoned. The well seasoned French fries were golden and crispy. Our food came out quickly. Our waitress was very responsive. The key lime pie is so smooth and creamy and limey...all the good things with a great tasting crust. The chocolate bread pudding....not my fav it was swimming in a moat of cream and not very warm, but worth a try. Great food, great service, tight location. Worth every penny in my opinion.

Absolutely love the food here, I prefer this place over PV because of how good it is. My husband loves the fish tacos and I love the chicken parm. Their limited time filet was the best filet I’ve had in Texas. Their breakfast is great as well, I’m very picky with breakfast food and they were very accommodating. Only issue we’ve had is 3 times in a row, my husband found a woman’s dark hair cooked into his food. The management was so nice and came over and offered to comp our meal, but we really don’t mind paying at all, we just want to ensure cleanliness. We haven’t been here in 1-2 months, so I hope the situation has been fixed. Other than that, the food and service is amazing. We’ve brought our dogs here a few times and sat in the outdoor seating, the servers were so sweet to our dogs and gave them water.

I wholeheartedly recommend The Grill for an unforgettable meal.

When I first walked in here we got seated right away as for a app I got Pimento Guac Dip with chips acutally good I won’t lie and the Caesar Salad was actually better than what I had at other places but the Ribs with fries were good the meat the bone was right on the target along with the smoky bbq sauce with the fries everything was spot on. Only thing that was disappointing was no Longhorns v OSU Game on. But overall everything was right on the target I would def visit again.

The food at The Grill is solid. I especially like their queso and Key Lime Martinis. The service inside is good, but outside, it is consistently slow and innatentive, although friendly. Happy Hour prices are good, otherwise prices are a bit high.

The food was absolutely amazing! We travel and eat out every week and rarely find a place where the food is exemplary. We had the steak salad and salmon. The queso and guacamole were also delicious. We will eat here again! The service was lacking a bit. The server was so busy that he was not able to serve us well. I think there were only two servers in the entire place but we saw employees running around doing other things. This place could use better service management.

Our server, Valerie, was awesome. The food was excellent. This would have easily been a 5 star review, except... my wife saw a pineapple margarita on the menu, and asked if there was a virgin option(we don't drink). She was brought a small(about a triple shot sized glass) of pineapple juice on ice with Tajin on the rim. My complaint is not what came in the glass, that was kind of expected. What irks me is that it cost EIGHT DOLLARS. The real drink WITH tequila in it from the menu was $6.50. My full sized glass of lemonade that took more effort to make was only 4.50. I noticed this as I was leaving, and I said something about it to the hostess(who was holding the door open from the outside for us). I wasn't foul or disrespectful. Her response was a half smirk coupled with dead silence as she stepped back in and let the door swing closed behind her. You could have served me the best meal of my life, and I'd still not be going back. I don't guess they are very dependent on repeat business. I stopped short of going back in and loudly voicing my thoughts. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary, and it wasn't worth the drama.

Nestled in the heart of historic downtown San Angelo, Twisted Root Burger Co. is a must-visit for burger enthusiasts seeking a unique dining experience. Overlooking the serene Concho River, this vibrant eatery boasts an eclectic ambiance and serves up gourmet burgers made from beef, turkey, and even game meats like venison and elk.
Twisted Root Burger Co. in San Angelo is a fun spot with a great personality and even better food. The atmosphere is relaxed and quirky, with plenty of character in the décor and the music, which makes it feel different from the typical burger joint. The staff were friendly and made the experience enjoyable from the moment we walked in. The burgers are definitely the star here. The menu has a lot of creative options and you can tell the ingredients are fresh. The patty was juicy, well seasoned, and cooked just the way I asked for it. The toppings were generous without overpowering the flavor of the meat. The fries and onion rings on the side were crisp and full of flavor, making the meal even better. One thing I really liked is that the place has personality. From the way they call out orders to the playful touches in the dining area, it feels unique and memorable. The prices are fair for the quality you get, and the portions are satisfying without being over the top. Overall, Twisted Root Burger Co. is a great place to grab a casual meal in San Angelo. If you are looking for a burger that stands out from the usual fast food options and a place with a fun vibe, this is definitely worth checking out. I will be back the next time I am in town.

Had visited this place several years back and it was amazing! Definitely looks run down now, no line on a Saturday evening should have been a sign. The best thing was the burger patties themselves. Nothing else seemed fresh, especially the sides. The cheese fries were the worst. The employees weren't especially friendly and the floors were dirty/sticky. Will not return.

Very nice and casual place. Variety of pickle slices. We got a Classic Hamburger. Downside is you have to buy fries separately. Signature of this place is multiple meat types - bison, lamb, boar, deer, pork. Also very good shakes and a root beer float using soft-serve custard. They have bar seats at tables and typical table seating plus outdoor tables under cover. I use a knee-scooter for mobility and it was easy to roll to bathrooms plus inside. The downside is you have to stand in line to order.

Best burger ive had here. I got the millionaire and it was delicious. Perfect bun and the beef was full of flavor. The whole vibe here is awesome and there's even a bar. Highly recommend this place for a solid meal and prices are very good.

I come here every time I come through San Angelo because they are pretty good! They have really good happy hour prices for alcoholic beverages! They have a ton of burgers to choose from and even offer a build your own burger option with exotic meat choices if you can’t decide! I got the “gosh jam it” and it was amazing! I also got the fried ride as I wanted to sample all the fried goods they had to offer! The fried green beans in their chipotle ranch was absolutely amazing! Do miss out on their homemade pickles and condiments as well!!!! The atomic pickle was my favorite and their chipotle ketchup is to die for!

This. Was. Devine. Forgot to take a photo right away, it had like yummy burnt marshmallows first😍😍 this is the s’mores shake! Wish they wouldn’t charge for fries, or at least tell you so you know your $10 burger is actually $13-14. But it is definitely delicious!😋

Nice restaurant! The food is great. Very busy and packed when we went. Also, music was very loud which made talking a bit difficult.

Nice burger place in San Angelo. Huge burger and generous amount of fries. Various variety of pickles. The location is huge with plenty of space. I will visit this location again in deer season.
