Lindsay Wildlife Experience, established in 1955, is a renowned wildlife rehabilitation center and museum in the San Francisco East Bay Area. It houses over 50 species of live California wildlife and treats more than 6,000 orphaned and injured animals annually. Visitors can enjoy unique exhibits and experiences, including behind-the-scenes access to the Wildlife Hospital where live veterinary procedures can be observed. The center offers an educational opportunity to learn about wildlife conservation while providing a chance to witness the rehabilitation efforts firsthand.
This place was adorable and very kid friendly. There isn't a ton of parking in the lot, but I did notice some street parking. They have education sessions that are perfect for little kids. My husband and I really enjoyed walking through and we loved seeing the bald eagle. Our son is under two, so he was a little too young to understand anything, but he did have fun running around and looking at the animals. He was free since they only charge for kids 2 & older. We definitely plan on coming back when we visit the area again.

Went here on the 70th year anniversary free day. It was very cool! It was also my first time seeing a bald eagle. Also a lot of taxidermy.
Sunny W — Google review
On vacation, we came upon this museum. It was a wonderful experience. My kids really enjoyed it being able to discover animals they've never seen, and they really liked being able to get up close to real statues of bears, foxes, deer, and other animals. They were able to use telescopes to view owl feathers and other things as well as sit in a giant eagles nest.
Danielle A — Google review
This was a fun place for our boys. They are a bit younger so their attention spans are a bit short, but they had fun. One of my boys was very intrigued with the indoor bee hive with the port to the outside. Other than that, they loved seeing the owl, their favorite animal and our reason for visiting this venue. Even I was interested in the live raptors.

Highly recommend for families to spend the weekend afternoon. Very educational for young kids. Every hour, they have special scientific event events where kids can ask questions. It’s a lot of fun for families.
Kang W — Google review
Great place for kids. Love how they let students shine and present. Great way for kids to learn from kids and also caretakers. Amazing learning experience and love how they care for the animals. My kids love this place.
Jeff T — Google review
Great place. Lots to see. Large grassy park out side with toys for kids. Tons of interactive things. Presentations with knowledgeable staff. Would return.
Rayce B — Google review
This is probably one of the best smaller wildlife encounters that I have been to in Northern California. They have so many unique animals. They're including the bald eagle and porcupine and all the reptiles as well. Definitely fun and informative for the whole family and what is really cool. Also, is the aviary outdoor exhibit.

Nestled in the heart of Walnut Creek, the Lesher Center for the Arts stands as a vibrant hub for cultural expression and creativity. Since its inception in 1990, this dynamic venue has transformed from the historic Nuthouse gallery into a premier destination for arts enthusiasts.
Love this place. A nice local theater venu with wonderful shows, musicals and art performances. Right in downtown so east to grab a meal before or after.

Great place for a graduation 👌. There was an usher that had a really bad attitude. I walked right over to his manager, in front of him, and reported his less than professional behavior. Other than that I have zero complaints. I may even go there for a concert!!
Sydney G — Google review
I’m so happy Walnut Creek has the Lesher Theater as it adds so much to our community. I’ve seen some amazing shows here (best: Christmas Carol) and some true clunkers (worst: Grinch) but it is still a great venue and I come here often. We recently saw an A Capella show and then came back to see a tribute band a few months later. Parking is right next door and although the garage has challenges, at least it’s close. The theatre is comfortable, the sound is great and I love the Bedford Art gallery on the first floor. If you have never been here, find a show and give it a try. Lots of fun. This was an amazing experience. Like truly truly I hope more people will be lucky enough to watch these shows. I was in stitches and quite literally cried from laughter. But first to optimize the search and the reason this even came up for me to do was because I looked up things to do in the Bay Area this weekend. Things to do in Walnut Creek this weekend. Hope that helps some of you find your way here. I caught the spontaneous Hitchcock show on a Thursday and I was so delighted. I had never heard of this place as we are closer to Sacramento but my goodness, we will be making the trip now. It was a wonderful way to spend our anniversary and it was legitimately hilarious. The cast clearly knows how to work with one another and when to add to a scene and when to not. Absolutely great chemistry. If you’re new to live theater start here. It’s basically just a comedy show with a little pizzazz. Will definitely be coming again.
Clarissa M — Google review
Loved the Lesher Center. It is beautiful, welcoming, and has wonderful programs. Lot's of convenients parking and restaurants nearby too.
Jayanti A — Google review
Wonderful smaller concert venu. Professional staff. The sound system and lighting was spot on. The screens behind the band were large and visibly shown as the artists performed. I will return.
Rosalee R — Google review
Friends and I recently enjoyed an exceptional version of the Nutcracker by Diablo Ballet. The cast of all professional dancers executed exciting choreography by Julia Adams to sold-out audiences.
Kathryn N — Google review
Great place to see the performing arts. Everyone put on a great performance tonight. On a side note: Please remember this is not a "Movie" theater. Please bring age appropriate children because they will be scared of the loud special effects. Lastly please just follow the rules and put your phones away. It ruins the experience when the staff has to shoosh your kids. Limited wheelchair seating if you can not transfer, the accessible seats are only if you can transfer out of your wheelchair.

Park
Heather Farm Park is a 102-acre preserve in Walnut Creek, offering a wide range of recreational activities. The park features a swimming complex, dog park, sports fields, and a skate park. Additionally, visitors can explore The Gardens at Heather Farm, which is a free-admission public garden and educational center showcasing the natural beauty of the Ygnacio Valley.
Nice playground area for the kiddos to roam around. The playground area has different sections for younger and bigger kids; and also sand pits. This place can get very crowded over the weekend with vendors around, celebrations in the park, and kids running around. But it’s always fun to see this lively community. Parking is pretty easy to find and there’s a restroom nearby.
Foodie T — Google review
The park is very nice, there are two ponds. There is a playground. A recreation and picnic area. And there is also a place where you can walk with animals. And also add beauty to the park are its inhabitants - Canadian geese and wild ducks. But there is a danger, that here it is allowed to fish with hooks, which harm these animals. Personally, my husband and I saved two ducks from a fishing line with a hook, which were caught by fishermen on a hook instead of fish. One duck was caught by the wing, the other by the beak. Therefore, fishing is harmful to animals. Please prohibit fishing in this park.

Heather Farm Park is beautiful.. the whole garden was filled with gorgeous flowers. Came here on a whim and fell inlove with it. Extremely peaceful, romantic place for couples and the scenery does not disappoint.. property was very east to find. I would definitely come here again during the summer as I think there would be plenty more flowers in bloom.
Trisha D — Google review
If not the best, probably the largest play ground in area. The large sand area with water dispenser to make lakes and moats is fun. My only complaint is it gets super busy on the weekends and I didn't want to take my eyes off my young child because he might be hard to spot in the crowd.
Cody G — Google review
I reserved the medium picnic Area #8 for my October 2025 baby shower. The picnic area was clean, the weather was perfect ( 75 degrees) and the playground was located directly across the picnic reservation area which was super convenient. It's a great location for any Park party, baby shower or picnic. I love this Park!
Jeanette Z — Google review
Would like to notify the people that this park has lots of construction currently going on. Playground is open, have no fear. The fields are being turned to turf right now and they have started the main building's remodel and aquatic center project. The pond is gated off and being drained. The back side of the pond where the horses are (iykyk) seemed inaccessible from the gardens @ Heather farms but potentially accessible from the dog park direction but didn't check.

Great pool and I noticed an outdoor yoga class going on. Beautiful park

Great park!! Nice playground, swimming area, great picnic set ups, and I can see where they are reconstructing the baseball/softball fields. Lots to do, lots of space, my little guy had a helluva time. Will be added to my parks rotation.

Garden
Nature & Parks
The Ruth Bancroft Garden & Nursery is a renowned 3.5-acre botanical garden and retail nursery located in California's East Bay. Established by Ruth Bancroft in 1972, it features an impressive collection of succulents, cacti, and drought-tolerant plants from around the world. This garden became America's first preserved formal garden facility by the Garden Conservancy in 1989 and has been open to the public since 1992.
Favorite garden of all time. A MUST visit when you are in the East Bay. If you live here, I highly recommend becoming a member and doing morning walks in the garden when you can.

Very nice, with great volunteers, docents, and gardeners to talk to. Odd that they have several tables and other places to sit, but no food vendor. I guess those are for uae diring events at the education center.

Amazing!!! The staff are very friendly and nice! It’s an amazing world of succulents. You will love this garden if you are a fan of succulents!😄❤️

Bought two yellow proteas two weeks ago, which died within days. For context, we have planted them in the same spot where other thriving proteas are (see last two photos). Went to Ruth Bancroft today to ask why and maybe have an expert suggestion - in the hope of an exchange or at least a discount on two new healthy plants - especially considering the amount of plants we bought from them for the past two years. Instead we only got a patronizing “they look dead to me, sorry, it happens”. Excuse me? That’s not the customer care I would expect from a reputable nursery such as this one. What a shame.

To all couples considering this venue: Look no further -- this is THE place for your special day. The RBG team made our wedding truly unforgettable. The staff on-site were wonderful and incredibly helpful with setup, making the day run smoothly from start to finish. The administrative side -- signing the contract and making payments -- was also simple and hassle-free, which was such a relief during the planning process. The venue even offers chairs, tables, lawn games, and projectors for rent, which made logistics so much easier. Now for the venue itself -- it's absolutely beautiful. Every single guest at our wedding complimented how stunning the garden looked. The Great Hall is spacious and comfortably accommodated our ~75 guests with plenty of room for dining tables and a dance floor. The outdoor patio is a perfect cocktail-hour space for guests who prefer to mingle rather than dance, and the string lights create a warm, magical atmosphere in the evening. Overall, we're so grateful to the RBG team for their incredible support throughout the entire wedding-planning journey. This venue is a fabulous space at a very reasonable price, and we highly recommend touring it to experience the unique charm and magic it has to offer.

Delightful garden. You are in the sun - wear sunscreen & a hat or grab an umbrella as you enter. Bring water. There are public toilets available. A plant guide is available as you enter. The walk is flat and reasonable to navigate. I saw many people walking their dogs. There are several scattered benches, and many reside in the shade. The textures & colors are wonderful. The plants have sharp bits, be aware. The garden center had a nice variety of plants, local artists ( cards / pottery ), & containers. If I were a local, the membership would be a great value.

What a beautifully maintained place to learn about the plants of California and their cousins from around the world in other arrid places. We enjoyed and were educated with a self-guided tour, but the guide was still very willing to answer questions as they wandered from group to group. Full guided tours are also readily available. What a fun and informative afternoon we had! Highly recommended for locals and visitors alike!

We've attended Garden of D'lights for 4 years now. It has become a beloved tradition for our family, as a nice way to unwind and take a beautiful walk, after all the Christmas chaos. Everyone working at the garden is always very kind and rightfully proud of the stunning grounds. We love it here!

Shopping mall
Shopping
Broadway Plaza is a high-end outdoor mall located in Walnut Creek, offering a wide range of department stores, chain and specialty shops, services, and restaurants. The shopping center has recently undergone renovations and boasts over 80 specialized stores and eateries including popular brands like Madewell, Kit and Ace, Anthropologie & Co., Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and Macy's. The European-style facade features top-notch landscaping and fountains.
Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek is an incredible spot, especially during their Father’s Day car show. We went there for the event, and it did not disappoint! They had some of the most amazing exotic cars on display, from sleek Lamborghinis to Ferraris, and it was a dream come true for car enthusiasts. The plaza itself is a beautiful open-air shopping destination, so you can stroll around, check out the cars, and enjoy the atmosphere. Whether you’re a car lover or just looking for a fun outing, Broadway Plaza’s car show is a fantastic experience.

Broadway Plaza is a breath of fresh, stylish air! Coming from the Philippines, I’ve seen my fair share of malls, but this “open mall” concept is a whole new experience. Back home, most malls are enclosed, with comfy air conditioning to keep the tropical heat at bay. But here, Broadway Plaza gives you that outdoor shopping vibe we don’t often get—a perfect blend of nature and retail therapy. The store selection? Pretty solid! You’ll find luxury brands alongside popular favorites, so there’s something for every budget and taste. Strolling along the leafy pathways with the California sun overhead and easy stops for a coffee or snack makes shopping feel more like a mini-vacation than a chore. It’s upscale without feeling too fancy—just the right balance of relaxation and retail indulgence. If you’re in Walnut Creek, Broadway Plaza is definitely worth a visit. Embrace the open-air feel, enjoy the walk, and soak up the California charm!

Nice place to relax and shop. The 1st place we went to in Walnut Creek. A full service outdoor mall. Contemporary with everything up to date. My wife and teenage boys enjoyed the plaza. I recommend it for food and shopping.
T. F — Google review
Great outdoor mall. A pedestrian bridge would be nice to get through traffic but I like how open it is. Parking is free for 3 hours... After that it's $25 for the day. The parking spaces are marked by lights so easy to find a open space by a green light above the space. They had a wonderful promotion for Gatorade this weekend giving away free Bolt 24 bottles. Cooled down during a hot weekend of shopping.
Orlando P — Google review
It’s been along time since I’ve been back to the Broadway Plaza. Prior to the pandemic it was always a nightmare to drive down Broadway and find the stores. Much less parking was a nuisance. Today it is beautiful it is a wonderful plaza with plenty of parking with escalators and elevators everywhere that are in working order it looks clean as well maintain. There is plenty of room to walk and to shop and no longer have to navigate traffic. I will be back.

American restaurant
Located in downtown Walnut Creek, Rooftop Restaurant & Bar is a chic New American eatery and cocktail lounge with a vibrant rooftop terrace. The venue offers stunning views of Mt. Diablo and provides a cozy atmosphere with its retractable roof and space heaters for chilly nights. Guests can indulge in creatively prepared New American cuisine, including small and large plates, as well as signature cocktails, fine wines, and a full bar. The restaurant is renowned for its five different mule options.
A Delight This restaurant transcends the ordinary, offering a truly delightful culinary journey evident in every dish and drink. Shrimp Vodka Rigatoni: Prepare for an explosion of flavor. The rigatoni, generously coated in a velvety, rich vodka sauce, provides the perfect canvas for the sweet and succulent shrimp. Each bite is a harmonious blend of textures and tastes that will leave you craving more. Crispy Fried Cauliflower: This isn't your average vegetable side. The Fried Cauliflower achieves a perfect golden crispness, delivering a satisfying crunch with every mouthful. Served alongside a thoughtfully crafted dipping sauce and vibrant fresh herbs, it's a flavorful and surprisingly addictive dish. Braised Short Rib Masterpiece: The Short Rib is not just a dish; it's a visual and gustatory experience. The slow-braised meat, boasting a deep, glossy glaze, promises fork-tender perfection. Accompanied by creamy mashed potatoes and crisp-tender green beans, it's a comforting yet elegant plate. Mule: Quench your thirst with the Mule, a vibrant and refreshing cocktail that looks as good as it tastes. The bright hues and thoughtful garnish of an orange slice hint at the tropical flavors waiting to tantalize your senses. Though I felt the alcohol content was on the lower side. Beyond the exceptional taste, this restaurant clearly values the art of presentation. Each dish is thoughtfully composed, demonstrating a commitment to creating a memorable dining experience for every guest. With a diverse menu showcasing both classic favorites and innovative creations, there's undoubtedly something to delight every palate.

Went today on a date with my boyfriend, our first time being here. The stars alone say it all, the view was great, the atmosphere was fun, and the food was yummy! I will only note that while they have heaters for the balcony seats, I personally didn't feel the heaters at all, today in particular was windy ( I regretted not bringing a sweater) and of course the temperature outside is at no fault to the restaurant, just something for future patron to keep in mind, not you get cold easily like me, just bring a sweater for just in case even if you end up not needing it. But everything was great despite the chilly air, we'll hopefully come back in the future!

I recently visited this rooftop bar and was genuinely blown away by the entire experience. The views were stunning, but it was the food and drinks that truly stole the show. The crispy duck was a standout — perfectly cooked with a golden, crisp skin and juicy, flavorful meat. It struck that rare balance of texture and taste that you don’t find often. The spicy rigatoni was another hit — rich

This spot has a good vibe with an open, relaxed setting that feels inviting right away. The view adds a nice lift to the evening, especially as the sky changes colors. Drinks are well made and easy to enjoy, creating a smooth backdrop for hanging out with friends or easing into a calm night out.

I have wanted to come here for a long time. It was a last minute opportunity. The hostess was kind and accommodated my party which I appreciated. The food was just okay and the service was just alright. On weekends, they charge a mandatory 20% gratuity which makes me think since servers already know they’re getting that tip, so there’s no need to try. The food we ordered was the chicken karaage, vodka pasta, wedge salad and rib eye. In my opinion the best dish was the salad, which had a hair on it but they replaced it. This place is probably better for suited for those who want to experience a cool night life with a few cocktails and light on the food.

Only tried their drinks and appetizers which were both really good. Spent hours here just talking it’s definitely a comfortable place to chill. We got seated by the edge which was nice because you can see the street view.

The food and the service were both good. Truffle fries with mussels and clams is crispy and has satisfying truffle taste compared to other truffle fries.

This was my first time trying Cuban food and it was good. We went to celebrate a birthday and the accommodations were perfect. I got the Paella and it was good, but needed a little more flavor, however I have never had it before, but I know taste. The service was excellent as we had a party 15 and the atmosphere was awesome, I really liked the vibe. For drinks, I got the Yuzu Ginger Gin Mojito(non alcoholic) and the Blood orange -pineapple. I really loved the Yuzu Ginger Gin Mojito! For Tapas, we got the Mojo Chicken wings and Ropa Vieja Empanadas, both tasty and delicious. The grilled Shrimp was good also. The entrees were Paella and Ropa Vieja, which had good taste and flavor. For a party of 15 with the gratuity included, it was a reasonable price. I will try it again in the future when I get to Walnut Creek. I had leftover Paella, but I forgot it at the restaurant 😁.

We got here for lunch and eventually moved to the bar for an early dinner. Our waitress in the dining area was a little off putting in her attentiveness to our table, but the food and drinks were still good. My only real gripe about eating in the dining area, the cleaning staff is standing incredibly close to the tables to clean up after your eating. However, because they are soooo close by, it's almost a "hovering" aspect to hurry you along with your meals. In a sense, not truly allowing you to enjoy what's being delivered to your table. Once we finished eating lunch, we eventually moved to the bar because NO ONE wanted to check on us to see if we needed anything else and we had a better time there. The bartenders were incredibly attentive and informative. Overall, it was much better company and welcoming at the bar. We'll still go back because the food and drinks are good, but maybe sit in a different section next time.

If you're a seafood lover, Walnut Creek Yacht Club is a must-visit. The food quality is absolutely top-notch, with fresh seafood delivered daily that you can taste in every bite. The menu offers a variety of options, and whether you go for the lobster or any other dish, you're in for a treat. While the prices are on the higher side, as is typical for the Bay Area, the quality and experience justify the cost. The customer service is outstanding, with attentive and friendly staff who make your dining experience even more enjoyable. If you're looking for a place to indulge in exceptional seafood, this is it. Highly recommend!

I was craving fish and chips and heard that Walnut Creek Yacht Club had some of the best in town, so I decided to give it a try. The cod was great, perfectly cooked, moist, and delicious. The fries were fairly standard, but still enjoyable. If they can do fish and chips this well, I’m sure there’s plenty more on the menu worth exploring. I’ll be back.

What a treat! We sat at the bar in the back because we didn’t make reservations on a Saturday night dinner. Service was very attentive and atmosphere was comfortable. We started with the Joe’s Salad, perfected dresses; and the soup of the day ~ Roasted Pear, blue cheese and walnuts…so delicious!! The half dozens Kumomoto oysters were outstanding (and I’m not a huge fan of oysters). I had the Rainbow Trout with the lemon and capers which was perfectly balanced and delightful. He had the Seared Ahi with ginger and soy sauce, which was very flavorful. Great experience. Highly recommend.

My BF and I had his birthday dinner here. We had such a great time, the food was great, fresh and tasty. They had my BF name printed on the menu, sang him a birthday song and gave him a complimentary creme bruele, he was very happy. We went to another seafood restaurant to celebrate his birthday before this but I was very disappointed with their services and I planned a replacement one. I am very glad I chose this place because it gave him the special night. We will definitely be back again. Pricing is very reasonable as the portion is great. We were very pleased with their services too, so great. Atmosphere wise, it is on the loud side. Definitely not a place you want to bring a young baby or young kid. The toddler beside us was wailing and getting frustrated the whole time we were there. We don't mind it but it understandable why the kid is feeling that way. We can barely hear each other too.

Great experience. Service was really good, we were moved outside even though they had some seating in the "aft". But food was good and we had really good waitresses. Inside does look like a yacht which is cool. Had the linguine and clams with mussels which was great. Not too creamy or salty. My wife had a really good Mahi Mahi with two sauces. Kids had the breaded shrimp and fries. That was good value.

Tapas restaurant
Telefèric Barcelona in Walnut Creek is a vibrant culinary destination that transports you straight to Spain without the need for a passport. This lively tapas bar, established by the Padrosa family who have deep roots in Spanish cuisine, features an inviting atmosphere adorned with charming cable cars gliding overhead. Here, guests can indulge in an array of delectable pintxos and traditional tapas served dim sum style, alongside innovative paellas crafted by their skilled Paella Master.
Excellent food and superb service. They have an executive menu for lunch where you get to choose either two (tapas plus main) or three dishes (plus dessert), which is a great bargain. Highlight for the meal was the tomato carpaccio. It not only looks nice, but also tastes great too. A 20% service charge will be added to the bill (server kindly reminded us about it). So any tips will be on top of that.

The service was amazing. Our sever was quick to refill our water and very attentive. The food was delicious overall; we especially enjoyed the Iberian oyster, which was very tasty and Paella negra. I just wish there were a bit more meat, but overall, it was a great experience. Just note that there’s an automatic 20% service charge added to the bill.

Teleféric Barcelona serves polished, flavorful Spanish plates, but my visit was undermined by how a service issue was handled. Food highlights - Paella Negra: Deep, briny squid-ink rice with perfectly cooked shrimp and clams; creamy aioli provided a bright counterpoint. - Crab Croquetas: Crisp exterior and silky, well-seasoned crab interior. - Wagyu Empanadas: Flaky pastry with a juicy, savory wagyu filling. Service and incident I found a hair in my drink. Staff repeatedly checked in afterward in a way that felt overbearing and made the situation uncomfortable rather than reassuring. Management did not offer a comp for the contaminated drink. Given the clear nature of the issue, I expected a discrete, manager-led resolution such as a refund or comp and a brief apology. Ambiance note The dining area is on the second story with an open-air terrace; it is NOT a rooftop. The space feels elevated without being on the building’s roof. Verdict Good technique and dishes, but the service recovery fell short. I would return if the restaurant addressed how managers handle contamination complaints and trains staff to resolve them discreetly.

Enter an Industrial style building with the strong aroma of fresh baked pizza. On the second level is Telerific Barcelona. A Modern Spanish food gem in well lit wood finish interiors. Food here is amazing and delicious. Non alcoholic versions of well known Spanish beverages are available. No wonder it is a favorite of many in the San Francisco Bay area. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is casual. Parking tho can be a challenge.

Great location, great service and, most important of all, the food here are better than the food that we ate when we were in Barcelona last year. The Catalan Tomahawk was perfectly cooked and the broccolinis are the perfect side dish. The oysters, the octopus, the chicken Empanadas are all very good appetizers but the we didn't care for the wagyu Empanadas much. The churros are a must for dessert. They were so good that we ordered a second serving. We live in San Francisco but we're definitely coming back ASAP...

Came for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. Not a lot of people seated, nice window view of the outside. Parking was a bit of a struggle to get here, but overall not too bad. Ordered off of the executive lunch special, and had the tuna tacos and paella negra for myself, others had ordered the crab croquetta and paella mixta. Everything was good, I personally preferred the negra over the mixta, but both were good. The tapas were excellent and delicious all around. Servers were attentive and friendly, environment was clean and pleasant to look at. At the end of the bill is a 20% service charge, so tipping is not recommended unless you choose to do so. Overall a good experience for lunch!

The food was fantastic! Everything we tried was delicious. We had the wagyu empanada, gambas al ajillo, paella mixta, and churros. The churros were free because we signed up as a member in open table, where we made our reservation. We will definitely be back!

Came for dinner last minute and we squeezed in at a high top table. Food was great and well presented. We enjoyed a number of small plates. Service was a bit slow but the place was very busy.

Small plates restaurant
Va de Vi Bistro & Wine Bar is a renowned restaurant in the San Francisco Bay Area, known for its diverse small plates and extensive international wine selection. The bistro has consistently been recognized as one of the top 100 restaurants in the area since 2005.
We enjoyed this amazing restaurant for dinner tonight with our aunt and uncle that live here. What a fun place and the decor and ambiance is perfect. I absolutely loved the tapas style of eating and every dish we had was delicious. And we had the best server with making sure we were happy all the time and accommodating one in our group with a food allergy. Very attentive!!

Va de Vi Bistro & Wine Bar in Walnut Creek offers an experience that excels in ambiance and presentation but falters in delivering consistent culinary satisfaction. The service was outstanding. Our server skillfully managed the tight 1.5-hour table turnover, ensuring we kept pace with the kitchen while still enjoying our meal. The hostess, equally adept, finessed a last-minute reservation with grace—commendable touches that showcased attentive hospitality. However, the food itself was a mixed bag. Each small plate impressed visually but largely disappointed in flavor, with the exception of the butternut squash soup shots. These provided a sip of autumn warmth, boasting rich, creamy textures and well-balanced spices. Unfortunately, they were served in glass shot glasses that became too hot to handle, delaying enjoyment. The risotto lacked the depth of butternut squash flavor and was under-seasoned, making for a forgettable dish. The braised short ribs, served with polenta, failed to justify their price point. A longer braise could have developed more robust flavors, but the portion size and execution fell short. The Brussels sprouts dish was similarly flawed—overwhelmed by the tangy bitterness of unsweetened pears and pomegranate seeds, with Greek yogurt exacerbating the imbalance. Only the cod stood out as a highlight, with impeccable preparation and flavor, though its $21 price tag demanded excellence. The restaurant’s aesthetics are well-curated, creating a sophisticated dining environment. However, one can’t help but wonder if the prime location is inflating prices and detracting from the emphasis on culinary quality. While the presentation of the dishes was professional, the flavors felt secondary, leaving diners to rely on ambiance to justify the premium cost. Va de Vi has potential but needs to refine its focus on delivering standout flavors to match its visual and atmospheric appeal.

Great wine selection and quick bites! We tried several appetizers they were really tasty. We let the waiter pick our flights and he did a great job! It’s a bit pricey but so is everything in this area.

This place is such a gem. My daughter and I had a rare lunch alone and we loved every taste and even the timing of dishes was perfect! The Brussels sprouts and asparagus, tacos and shrimp over cornbread were a perfect meal for two. I had an NA beer and my daughter the staff picks white wine flight!

I can’t believe I hadn’t heard of this place before. The food here is amazing, only downside is it’s quite expensive but that’s a given considering the quality . The exterior of the restaurant is super nice and secluded and I love the big tree feature. Only thing I did not like about this place was our server in particular who did not have a friendly attitude and was being rude to one of the cooks who did not have very good English. But the other waiters who we interacted with were very friendly. Personal favorite dish was the beef cigars!

This is one of the best restaurants I have been to in a while. Their outdoor sitting in a quiet bylane is especially enchanting! All of the entrées we ordered were really delicious, but we especially loved their house fries and their potato leek soup, served in shot glasses. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

Excellent from start to finish! We started with the garlic fries to go with my husband's flight of wines and my delicious cocktail. We moved on from there to the shot of butternut squash(piping hot and topped with pomegranate arels). We then indulged in the deliciously light plum and apple salad over spring greens. The two meat entrees, fall off the bones short ribs of beef in a mascarpone polenta was superb. But honestly, slightly spicy pork ribs style the show. Our server, Ana and the rest of the wait staff have us service that exceeded our expectations.
