Wow, First Kathy Mattea and her musicians fantastic yesterday (9/21/2025). Love the matinee show. Was able to bring my monther who normally doesnt like to venture out at night. Great space to listen to music. Very few cellphones distracting from performance. Enjoyed so much purchase tickets for upcoming Ricky Skagg show in Dec.

My husband and I were in Kentucky for a wedding. We were walking around one morning exploring and decided to go into the Bluegrass. We know nothing about music or the musicians, but wanted to give it a try. Best decision ever! We stayed for almost two hours exploring the museum and all it offered. The audio tour was great! I learned so much and we both really enjoyed ourselves.
Angelica C — Google review
Amazing place. We learned so much about Bill Monroe, Jerry Garcia and Bluegrass music. The lady in the front desk was so welcoming, nice and friendly. The whole staff was great.
Mel. D — Google review
What an awesome museum for anyone, but especially a Bluegrass lover! One of my favorite parts was the pickin' parlor. I wish someone who could really play was there.... that would have been extra special!
Charlie P — Google review
We had a great time. The lady that helped us was very informative and sweet. This place was great 👍
Shirley B — Google review
If you love Bluegrass, you need to add this place to your bucket list! The exhibits come to life through a recorded self-paced tour, narrated by former Grand Ole Opry announcer and BanjoRadio.com founder Kyle Cantrell. If you're a picker, go on Saturday or Sunday afternoon for the free, open jam session. You don't even need to bring your instrument... just grab one off the wall and join in!
Karl P — Google review
Self guided audio tour. Very cool to pick up and play instruments and learn about the beginnings of the Blue Grass movement.

Nestled in the west of Owensboro, Western Kentucky Botanical Garden has been evolving for three decades. The 12-acre garden boasts various themed gardens such as an herb garden, English cottage garden, rose garden, children's garden, ericaceous garden, Japanese memorial garden and a Kentucky symbol quilt garden. It also features a University of Kentucky Extension display garden and a Western Kentucky University experimental garden for horticulture enthusiasts.
It was the most amazing day! I've already checked on the wedding venue aspect of it. It is more than worth the admission fee or a drive!
Moses M — Google review
Went today for the first time after having it saved for years on maps. It was well kept grounds, perfect weather today to tour the grounds. We enjoyed the beautiful flowers, trees, and landscaping. The fountains were also beautiful and peaceful. The place provided lots of seating and benches to relax along the way or enjoy the scenery. We paid $8 per adult to get in. Anyone who lives in the area should at least visit once.
Heather V — Google review
This botanical garden is absolutely stunning. The $8 entrance fee is very reasonable, especially given the beauty and care that has gone into maintaining the grounds. The gardens are immaculate, with an abundance of plants and several scenic walking paths that wind gracefully throughout the property. The atmosphere is tranquil and serene, making it the perfect place to relax, reflect, and enjoy nature.
Jordan A — Google review
Nice combo of plants, flowers and some sculptures. Very well kept. Last time we went was free but they have since acquired a historical house and expanded so there is a fee to get in but worth it. They also have a kids playhouse area that my nephews enjoyed. Only thing, I wish they’d clean up the lake and highlight the water more. So much potential there. Lots of places to sit and enjoy.

A must see when visiting Owensboro, KY. Pets mush be leashed. We visited during the summer (2025) and it was full of color and beautiful butterflies. 🦋 🦋 🦋 🦋 🦋

I personally am just rating this based on my interaction with the staff. I called to inquire about a wedding and spoke with Diana initially who was very kind and answered all my questions and then scheduled a time to come in to look at the venue for a wedding that I’m trying to set a date for soon. Well, I called back after looking at their website and seen that some prices were listed but not all, so I called back and spoke to someone else who was willing to answer questions but was very rude and also stated that I wouldn’t be saving any money by booking certain rooms and they wouldn’t be willing to just rent the porch to me when someone else is willing to pay more for the whole house “because thats bad for buisness” which is fine but the website lists individual rooms with pricing so I thought it wouldn’t be an issue to ask and I ended the call. Decided to call back and cancel my appointment instead of just not showing up and was met with “Oh, are we out of your price range?” Just very rude, which is unfortunate because I was in love with the photos I had seen of the venue online and was just excited to know more about it and had been talking to my fiancée about it non stop.
Katelyn — Google review
A hidden gem located around an historic mansion. Great place for special events like bridal showers and weddings as was happening on the day we stopped for our first visit. We were greeted by a very friendly volunteer and enjoyed a beautiful walk in the gardens. What delightful place with many exhibits.
Don A — Google review
First time at botanical garden and enjoyed it. Just wished the maps/brochure and donation box was relocated from old entrance to new one. We did not find brochures until the end of our trip through garden. Easy walking paths throughout and benches available for those that need them or would just like to sit and enjoy the view.

Park
Nature & Parks
Smothers Park, located in downtown Owensboro along the picturesque Ohio River, is a top-rated destination for families and outdoor enthusiasts. The park features an expansive playground, a splash park, and three stunning fountains that perform captivating water shows every 15 minutes. Visitors can also enjoy a tranquil waterfall feature cascading into the river and take in scenic views of the Owensboro Bridge connecting to Indiana.
Our absolute favorite park! We drive two hours just to play here! Although, in the 6ish times we have been, the splash pad has never been fully working. I do wish there were more bathrooms as well. There are only 3 stalls for the women and only 1 for the men. With a splash pad, it would be nice to have just changing rooms too. But, the playground alone makes the drive worth it. You can't beat the views either.
Randi D — Google review
Such a nice riverfront walk. We enjoyed the water features, the porch style swings with a view of the river and the nicely paved walkway which makes it easy to explore. There is even a large playground along with a splash pad for the kiddos, nestled right next to concession stands full of refreshment options. The park bathrooms were clean, although they had a bad odor. We even had the pleasure of live music by an older gentleman playing guitar on a street bench.
Shawna B — Google review
Great little park. Perfect sunset evening. Definitely the biggest play area i seen. Kids would love it. Plenty of places to sit and relax.
Tina C — Google review
Easily one of the nicest & well-maintained public parks I’ve seen in some time. There are multiple swing/slide options, plenty of obstacles to climb & everything throughout the play area is padded pretty well. The splash pad was also a hit with our kiddo, which is open between Memorial Day through Labor Day. Located right on the riverfront, there’s also plenty of space to walk & some fountains to check out as well. If you’re in the area, visiting here is a must ✌🏻
Chris V — Google review
This is by far the nicest park that’s open 24 hours secure well protected well taken care of and kids can get wet in the waterpark section. I can see why it was rated the number one park and all of United States so peaceful relaxing plenty of bench swings overlooking Ohio river so you can relax bring your grandparents and visit the veterans Circle there’s coffee shops ice cream shops there by far the best park I’ve ever been to United States and it’s all free. Street parking is free. There’s parking lots that are open to the public that are free and all the people that surround this park are Genuinely humble and nice.
Sal Y — Google review
We were staying at the Holiday inn and decided to take a walk along the riverfront. Very nice walkway and scenery along with a huge park for the kids. Neat fountains and some architecture.
Michael F — Google review
Impressive large playscape. No smoking at the park means no nasty cigarette butts from smokers who think the world is an ashtray. Nice waterfront to take a stroll.
LISA B — Google review
Excellent walkway along Ohio River, perfect for strolling. Cushioned kids playground, well maintained. Fairly spectacular water fountains. Nice stainless steel benches. Clean accessible restrooms. Stones throw away from downtown eateries. At night lights on Ohio River bridge (Blue Bridge) put on amazing show. One of the best parks anywhere, must see all free. You wont be disappointed. Very relaxing.

Specialty Museums
The Owensboro Museum of Science and History, established in 1966, is housed in a historic 19th-century building. It offers an engaging and educational experience for both adults and children. The museum features unique exhibits such as a large sucker fish tank, a train model, a mammoth skeleton, and touring Dino exhibit. Designed to captivate young minds, the interactive museum is located downtown in a grand four-story building from the early 20th century.
Great for small kids. Lots of open space for them to wander around and the play places designed for them are fantastic! My two year old was happy and entertained for 3 hours before she decided it was nap time. Best part is the $5 admission. I have to travel two and half hours to get there and it's totally worth it.
Jasmine M — Google review
This place is super cute with lots to do for as small as it seems from the outside!!!
Alissa T — Google review
This museum has tons of potential. They are working on updating it, but there is still alot that needs to be done. My kids really liked the cave and the cave fish and the upstairs play area. The upstairs play area really needs some updates, but it still kept them occupied. Its good for a rainy/cold day out of the house.
Laura R — Google review
I'll start by saying we got a military discount so it was only $2/ person to get in- which helped us enjoy it. The first floor starts out great with the birds, microscopes and a cave area. The area above the first floor (like level 1.5) was also neat but kinda underwhelming. The second floor was lame, a lot of wasted space in the presidential area that didn't have really anything on display. They definitely need to modernize their exhibits (especially since none of the TVs were even on) and upgrade their sad, old taxidermy. It's cute and has a lot of potential, but I'd love to see this place grow bigger- especially repurposing the second floor to actual exhibits. Otherwise, we had an okay hour or so looking around for $6.
Kelsey M — Google review
An Interesting Place with a lot for kids to do. They seemed to be updating the second floor while we were there (may 2023). Which certainly needed done... Also, I agree they could clean this place a little better, but it probably is no dirtier than your average city park... Good, cheap fun... Give the kids a bath afterwards!
James Y — Google review
Great place to take kids. Very inexpensive with lots of educational materials that are presented in many fun different ways.
Darren F — Google review
If you have children doing a project or know someone who is interested in dinosaurs. This is the place to take them. They can learn so much in one day. And the neatest part it's all pretty much hands on. It was a great experience and so many different things to see. My all time favorite would of been the old cars there and the gem fossils. Hehe maybe even the taxidermy animals to. Gives you close up of the actual size of a fully grown. Just amazed at what we learned and would definitely be back soon for another visit..
Jessica B — Google review
Great kids play area on the second floor. In my opinion it's ideal for kiddos under 5 years old. It has a changing station and only one open entry/exit point. The rest of the museum is probably 3 stars, but they have a few things in the works that sound promising.

Located downtown, it offers a unique experience with local artwork displayed on its walls and a shaded patio, making it an ideal stop for art enthusiasts. The museum's antebellum house and stained glass exhibit add to its charm, while the kaleidoscope room promises an unforgettable experience.
What a great little museum!!! I was the only patron there and it took about 45 minutes to walk through and see everything. Had a great time…and have to say it was cool being the only person in a museum.
Hank H — Google review
Had a great time! Beautiful artwork. Friendly staff. Will definitely come back.
Courtney B — Google review
Excellent, most of the artwork is modern but it's actually amazing. There is also an area with elaborate stained glass windows and another area with rebuilt rooms of 18th or 18th century furnishings and house goods. Some were quite exotic, like the late 19th century (i think) Chinese room shades. In a historical building with character; staff is friendly, admission was free but they requested $3 donation.
Scott M — Google review
Free to get in, donation based. Highly suggest going to check out the local artists & amazing works. They also have a beautiful gift shop from local artists. Absolutely amazing exhibits & 2 floors with plenty of rooms to spend hours getting lost in
Nova E — Google review
My first visit was very enjoyable. The only part I didn't care for, was the glass canes. Why would you dedicate an entire floor to them? Really could have kept a dozen or so, and put some more works on display. Definitely could use some more information about the exhibits as well. Maybe a program or some cards? But I will be returning for the next exhibition.
Stacey D — Google review
Very nice museum; affordable family fun. Well curated and exhibits and things for every age and taste. Friendly helpful staff. Nice gift shop as well.
Lucas K — Google review
Museum admittance is free but they encourage a $3 donation. The exhibits included modern day religious art and paintings by Jim Cantrell. The Cantrell exhibit took up the majority of the museum and though interesting, was a bit repetitive. Would have liked to seen different artists. There is a small gift shop with a few hand made crafts and artwork.
Sarah H — Google review
Nice museum. Admission is a $3 donation, which is definitely worth it. Due to Covid19, they do temperature checks and provide hand sanitizer when you come in. (Just helpful information just in case you are putting off going to museum because of covid.) Building looks small but we spent over two hours looking at the art. Lots of displays from artist from Kentucky. There is a stain glass collection, junior artist section, quilt displays and much more to enjoy. You have to try the kaleidoscope cave, which is even fun for the adults. There is sculptures also outside the facility to enjoy.

Barbecue restaurant
Old Hickory Bar-B-Que is a historic BBQ restaurant in Owensboro, known for its traditional slow-cooked barbecue infused with hickory wood smoke. For over 100 years, they have maintained the same recipes and attention to detail, earning them numerous awards. Their menu features a variety of dishes including mutton, burgoo, fried chicken, catfish, and their famous slow-smoked ribs with a unique home dressing.
We had dined a little late because the ribs and beef brisket were sold out!! I got the smoked turkey with mashed potatoes, baked beans & cornbread. My friend got smoked ham with same two sides with cornbread. Both of us had sweet Tea & dessert . (Will go back and try the smoked brisket another day). Restaurant was clean, the waitress was very polite and knowledgeable. The food was delicious.
Houston C — Google review
This place is famous for their barbecue... Which is pretty decent. The service was rough because the place was crowded... The workers were very nice, and that seemed like they tried hard to keep up... but the wait was really long, and some of the food actually seemed dry. The flavor was great. I see why some people think this is the greatest barbecue joint in the world, but I don't know if I would go that far myself. It's quaint, and if you want to try some old school kentucky mutton, this is your place.

If you ever wanted to experience, Mutton the way it’s meant to be cooked and eaten. This is definitely the place. They even won world championship, barbecue masters
Mike R — Google review
I was told randomly from my girlfriend and coworkers that Owensboro is known for it's fantastic BBQ. So my girlfriend recommended I try this place out. The atmosphere gives me old cottage vibes with a ton of local flare. There are awards and accolades from various magazines and Food network plastered all over the place so I was excited to try this place out. A lovely touch that I truly respected was the way they support the other local businesses in the area. Their tables are basically a "yellow pages" for various businesses in Owensboro and it really added to the home town feel of the place. I went with the combination plate so I could try various types of meat from their BBQ. I went with their Brisket, Baby back ribs, and their 1/4 white meat BBQ chicken. For sides, I opted for baked beans and mashed potatoes and gravy. The combo platter came out faster than expected and HOLY MOLEY is that a lot of food! Everything was amazing! The brisket was so tender and was fortunate to have pieces of that oh so yummy bark too! The baby back ribs did not disappoint as the meat had a great bite and feel of the bone without being overly tender. The chicken was juicy and cooked just right, although a few bites near the edge of the breast were a tad dry but overall amazing. The mashed potatoes were really really good and the baked beans were a little too vinagery for my own taste, but I finished them all regardless so they were still pretty good. There was a table next to me complimenting to each other how exquisite the Mac'n'cheese was. I felt left out as I didn't get to try any. The old lady, probably in her 80s, and I quote, "this Mac'n'cheese kicks ass!". I chuckled to myself and even thought about ordering some for myself but I was already stuffed. The only thing I felt weird about was the plain slices of your ordinary classic white bread and wheat bread that came with the platter. I asked the waitress and she said that it's common for people to make sandwiches out of their BBQ entrees. I would love to have had some corn bread instead. The sauce I had was their original vinegar based sauce which was tangy and delicious, though I do wish they had their other sauces to try. I could be nit-picky and comment on the lack of napkins at a BBQ place, but let's be real, I licked my fingers clean because everything was absolutely amazing.
William S — Google review
Brisket and mash potatoes for whole table was cold, some were lukewarm. Server was amazing but didn’t bring anymore soda after the 2nd one but she was amazing, if you put barbecue sauce on brisket you should put that on the menu so someone who’s never been will know. I didn’t know and the sauce wasn’t great unfortunately. I’ve heard good things about this place, but it did not meet my expectations! $5 for half filled cup of sides is a rip off, normally the bbq would make up for it, not this time sadly.
Evan H — Google review
Food was ok. Our server delayed putting out order in because we were waiting on the mac and cheese to be made and didn't want everything else cold. When our orders were brought to the table, the mac and cheese was very watery and already cold. The brisket was tender but lacking in flavor. No BBQ sauce on our table or nearby tables. The ribs were small, tough and tasted mostly of vinegar. Our server was fine, but service itself was a little slow given how many people we saw working and how few tables there were. Decor was old and the ceiling was gross. The table and menu are absolutely covered in advertising and "sponsorships". We won't be returning.
Jordan K — Google review
Wasn't what I was expecting this place should have been. I got the sampler three meats none of the meat had a smokey taste. It was juicy not tender. The Cole slaw was good just tasted like it had little of a vinegar taste the tater salad was good different. And dessert chocolate cream pie was perfect!

Barbecue restaurant
Moonlite Bar-B-Q Inn is a renowned BBQ restaurant in Owensboro, Kentucky, established in 1963. It is famous for its old-fashioned cooking style using customized hickory fire pits to slow-cook hand-picked meats, resulting in a distinctive hickory flavor. Moonlite is credited with originating mutton barbecue, slow-cooked adult sheep meat. Voted the Best Barbecue in Kentucky, it offers lunch and dinner buffets featuring endless barbecued meats and traditional sides.
Oh My Goodness!! The food here is delicious! We had the buffet, and lemme say, they got enough on there to satisfy your hunger. Everything we tried was delish! It was very crowded when we went (Saturday lunch), and the area we sat had a lot of sound, land it didn’t travel well. But after some of the guest left it quieted down considerably and it was much more enjoyable. Parking is plenty. It is hidden in an entrance, so you can’t see it from the road. Lots of seating, lots of choices.
Megan P — Google review
People talked so highly about this place, so I drove almost three hours to experience it. Customer service was fantastic, the waitress was sweet, polite, pretty great. Food it's what I like to call "geriatric". Nothing special, some of the meat was very dry. I really wanted to like this place, I was rooting for it. But no, unfortunately I'm not interested in coming back. 😞 💔

We stopped in at the Moonllite Bar-B-Q Inn in Owensboro Kentucky because we had heard a lot of good things about them. And the salad bar vegetables and deserts were good the Mutton was okay but nothing special. I did like the pork . The service was very good and the atmosphere was good . The Bar B Q was okay at best. And when I received instant mashed potatoes I was extremely disappointed. And me and my Son both confirmed that they were instant. I wasn’t impressed and I will say the Banana Pudding and the Broccoli Casserole were awesome. Overall I wouldn’t give a high recommendation. It didn’t live up to the hype.
Halfdeadedd — Google review
Meh. I really wanted to like this place because it has a 4.5 rating overall. But the food was meh. We ordered the combo plate to share. The mutton was pretty good! Moist and tender. Same for the pork. But the brisket was dry and tough. And even though it has a smoke ring, there was almost no smoke flavor. I was hoping for some great southern BBQ, but I'll pass on this place.
Steven H — Google review
Heard nothing but good things about this place so we had to see for ourselves. I was not impressed in any way. The meat was dry. Everything needed a ton of salt and pepper. The decor was absolutely depressing and it was very dimly lit. I had a fully loaded plate and didn't eat most of it. Paid for the buffet and never went back up after my first uneaten plate.
Nat — Google review
Moonlite BBQ is one of my all-time favorite spots to eat in Owensboro. I usually swing through solo for a mutton sandwich to go; slice of onion, a couple pickles, nothing fancy, just right. But this time, I brought my wife, my kid, and my mom to make it a full-blown family pilgrimage. I ordered the sampler with a toasted bun, BBQ baked beans, and fries. Every bite still holds up. The mutton has that signature smoky twang, the beans taste like somebody’s grandma still stirs them, and the fries could hold their own in a state fair competition. The place hasn’t changed much over the years, which is part of the charm. The decor is peak Kentucky nostalgia. You’ll find everything from antique saw blades to a wall of autographed celebrity photos. Kevin Costner and Bill Clinton both ate here, which tells you something, either the food’s really good or the Secret Service is real into burgoo. The gift shop has everything you didn’t know you needed, including BBQ sauce, weird knickknacks, and what appears to be every pig-themed item ever manufactured. Bottom line: If you’re anywhere near Owensboro and don’t stop at Moonlite, that’s on you.
Palmer H — Google review
It's a BBQ buffet - and it was everything I expected it to be! It's been two days and my hubby is still talking about it lol. He said the only thing wrong with the place is the fact we live hundreds of miles away from it. I'm also a super picky person who has the pallete of a 5 year old, and there was plenty of food I loved as well. The desert bar was delicious too, and the surprise of finding pistachio fluff was second to none!
TheDanePack — Google review
I drive over an hour to eat here on Friday evenings with my family on occasion. This is how a buffet-style restaurant should be operated. It’s always clean and fully stocked. On top of that, the food is genuinely delicious, like home-cooked food. The BBQ is amazing, and I’ve never had a bad experience, even when it’s been a busy time. I appreciate all the people who make this place a great place to stop and look forward to going back when we have time.

Stopped here while visiting town and was so happy we chose this as the place to eat. We were there shortly after opening and seated fairly quickly. Our waitress was so pleasant and gave us just the right amount of time to look at menues. She answered questions and advised us of specials. I got the shrimp appetizer which was DELICIOUS, So much flavor! I also got the mushroom and shrimp dip and it was also delicious. My husband got the fries and chicken strips and he said they were very good as well. Our drinks never ran empty! Overall very satisfied with the location, taste of food and service.

This restaurant deserves more than 5 stars across the board. I dined here with colleagues while in town and all of us agree a memorable experience! From the moment we entered this comfortable yet rustic atmosphere we had incredible attentive service. All of the food was delicious; from the salads, potato soup, shrimp and scallop pasta to the lava cake and banana pudding!!! I cannot wait to visit Owensboro again to dine here. In addition it’s in a very walkable part of town to enjoy a walk after filling your belly.

Colby’s was fantastic! My wife and I traveled to Kentucky (from Alabama) for a weekend getaway; we found Colby’s on Maps so we thought we would give it a try. We were not disappointed! They originally told us it would be a 30 minute wait, but we waited maybe 15. The food was fantastic and so was the service. Our waitress was so great and very friendly. We highly recommend the mashed potatoes with cheese and bacon and their house chicken. So good!

I really enjoyed our dinner at Colby's. The staff was AMAZING! We had our toddler daughter with us and they were all so friendly and made us feel special. Ole South Barbeque is a laid-back eatery that serves up simple Southern barbecue dishes like pulled pork and ribs, as well as breakfast options. The menu offers a variety of delicious items, making it difficult to choose just one. Some highlights include the BBQ rib platter with slow-cooked chunks of ribs and the Owensboro-style Burgoo bowl. The buffet features a wide selection of smoked meats, chicken, pork, and sides, including the local favorite burgoo.
Today was mine and my husband's first time eating here. I'd considered going here after finding this place online last year. I'm so glad we did! We ate from the buffet, had 2 diet dr peppers. The drink had great carbonation, I fixed a salad, after had pulled pork and a few sides. It all tasted homemade, unsure if it was or not. It tasted amazing, seasoned perfectly and great! The hostess was good, refilling drinks often and checking on us. I noticed they also had a soup bar and dessert bar. They also had 5 televisions on with various shows to watch. I'd most definitely definitely return here!

A happy finds on a road trip from TN to Illinois; we stopped for lunch/brunch on a Saturday. The food was fresh and tasty. Nice salad bar, nice hot food bar, plus soup bar and dessert bar. Something here for everyone. Good prices and friendly service.

They had a salad bar with spinach greens and all the things, and a other food buffet, and a dessert bar. I just got the one sandwich bur would come back again next time im that way. Staff was really friendly, it wasn't loud like some places get.

Very reasonably priced for everything offered on the buffet. Real meat selections not that see through bacon you get at other breakfast places. And those homemade blueberry muffins were awesome.

The buffet was so good and the price was only 12.99

I have been on a lifelong pursuit, a pursuit that has taken me to every corner of the globe… the pursuit to find the perfect Bacon. This pursuit came to an end when I ran up on that Ole South breakfast buffet a couple years ago. I don’t know what type of sorcery they use to cook that bacon, but it will make your taste buds sing with delight. You won’t get any of that almost cooked floppy bacon. It’s all crispy and melts in your mouth. The experience will get you all in your feelings, so proper precautions are required. You’ve been warned. I come to Owensboro a couple times a year to visit family, the Ole South breakfast buffet is always on the itinerary.

The first thing I did was check their website for prices says the family packs 20$ and ribs are 9.99 a pound. Once I decided what I wanted I had there to pick it up for dinner for my family tonight when I got there the prices were different. It was now 2999 for the fam 4 pack and 1499 a lb for ribs. I said fine. When I went to Pay, the girl said let’s wait and see how much they weigh. I thought that was funny but I waited figuring to be somewhere around 40 to 45 bucks when the lady came out she said the ribs weighed almost 3 pounds so my bill was gonna be $76, my meal was 30 bucks. That means it is $50 and ribs. It says it was 1495. She said a pound I said really. I said there’s a rack of ribs in here and they were 50 bucks. She said yep they weighed 3 pounds. I said it’s kind of ridiculous who comes to pay $50 for a rack of ribs. Where can you buy a rack of ribs for 50 bucks thats pretty expensive I definitely didn’t want $55 in ribs. At this point, she started looking past me as if I didn’t exist anymore. I just need to grab my bag and go at the moment. I felt done pretty wrong, but I would head and paid. Maybe I’ve made a mistake and I should eat this when I get home. I told my wife about it and we get out the food scale and I set the container on the food scale. It says it’s not even 2 pounds of meat. Pretty much totally lied. There wasn’t any buns in there so all I had was a half a pound of two kinds of meat a $55 rack of ribs with no bread no barbecue sauce or anything to put on the ribs. It was dry as hell. I called up there to talk to a manager and on a Friday and the busiest day of the week. There was no manager to get a hold of the blonde girl in the front of the store. Could care less about anything you say, she doesn’t even look in the eye when you’re talking to her. I took pictures of everything to share to everybody. I’m never gonna go back here again. They’re bad people. They got people there that don’t care about anything and obviously that was a substantial lie saying that my food was 3 pounds when it was less than two, I want my money back. You ruined my dinner. Edit. Been a week. No call back from missing managers. Like I said. They could care less. Thinking about small claims. It’s only 35. More than worth it.

You know what it’s like to have dinner at a place and say wow that was the best food I’ve had then go back a second time and say ehhhh not as good as I thought?? This is NOT that place!! We’ve been three times now and every time is as good if not better than the last. We finally figured we could split a dinner (huge portions) and enjoy extra appetizers. Let’s start at appetizers. Fried zucchini, which I had never had before was awesome!! Lightly breaded, fresh and tasty. I’m a crab cake snob. This is Kentucky. There is NO WAY this Maryland girl trusts a crab cake in ANY OTHER state. Well after our first visit and the food being incredible, we decided let’s take a chance. Thankful we did. They were beyond delicious and just as tasty as the beach restaurants on the Eastern shore. Truth be told, these were probably better!! The salmon and chicken were cooked to perfection. And portions were so large, we easily shared and ordered an Extra side. Service is always great. Alcoholic beverages aren’t skimpy and their Bahama Mama is super fruity and refreshing. Living in TN I cannot wait for trips to Owensboro to have dinner here. I actually get excited at the idea of dinner at this amazing place!! My mouth is watering thinking about it. Awesome food, exceptional service and beyond reasonable prices for what you get. Looking forward to my next stop in. Oh and if you’re planning an evening out and decide on City Walk, call ahead and make a reservation. You won’t regret it!! Be sure to allow time to walk along the riverfront. You’ll be stuffed from the portions of these meals!! Thanks to the amazing chef at City Walk. So glad to have found this place!! I’d give it a 10 star review if I could!! Note: I put $30 to $50 because it’s easy to rack up the alcohol charges and several appetizers because they are all so yummy. You CAN eat here on a budget. It is VERY affordable. We over order because it’s that good.

This place was great! The food exceeded expectations and felt closer to white tablecloth quality than what I typically expect from a casual dining establishment. Our server was attentive but not overbearing. Prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food, in my opinion. My two nitpicky critiques: 1) The space inside is a little small so one rowdy group will make it very loud; solution is to sit outside if the weather is nice. 2) Our table was sticky and needed a proper wipe down with something more than water, probably not the norm but it was something that stuck with me (pun intended). I will definitely be back next time I am in Owensboro! There were plenty of items on the menu that I'd like to try! Keep up the great work!

I had a wonderful experience at City Walk! Their servers were so kind and wonderful conversationalist. I ordered their fried catfish, sweet potato mash, and broccoli! It all was delicious. The sweet potato mash was such a pleasant surprise! I hadn’t heard of it before, and thought it would be like mashed potatoes. Instead, it was a tasty sweet treat!! Highly recommend.

I’m from California visiting Owensboro. My wife and I were invited to have dinner at City Walk. It is my pleasure to share my thoughts, not to persuade you one way or the other, but to give my opinion. The wait staff was attentive and very familiar with the menu. The atmosphere is rugged with pictures of buildings in Owensboro. I waited in great anticipation for the meal in which I was about to eat. The menu listed the names of three professional chefs, so my expectations were high. The menu was limited with some delicious sounding dishes. After picking the entree you then select the side(s). When the waitress came to take our order, she stated what the special of the day was. It consisted of three kabobs that included beef, shrimp, bell pepper, tomato, and onion, on a bed of rice pilaf. It also came with one side. This sounded delicious so I ordered it with a side of green beans with bacon and onion. When the meal came, I was disappointed. The kabobs were overcooked, dry, and cold. The shrimp was chewy and difficult to eat. There was practically nothing left of the tomato, and the side of beans came from a can. I was totally disappointed and couldn’t finish the entree or the green beans. My wife ordered the pork chop that was supposed to come with a cinnamon sauce, which she didn’t get. On a positive note, my daughter-in-law ordered the fillet steak. She shared a bite with me. It was absolutely tremendous! It tasted great and was extremely tender. Overall I was totally unimpressed with the overcooked kabobs and especially the canned beans from professional chefs. If you give it a try, I hope your food experience will be better than mine.

City Walk is a great place to go for date night, cocktails, and even for a quick lunch. The service is great and the atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming. They easily have the best fried fish in the downtown area, and I recommend it with their tartar sauce. Speaking of the best, their Buffalo chicken sandwich is unmatched in the area. I’ve had dreams about it ever since I first had it. They also mix up a great old fashioned and a refreshing Kentucky mule!

Went to this place on a date and I was finally able to try Beef Wellington!!! Ive been wanting to try it for years and this was my first experience this was my second time coming to this restaurant. Their crab cakes app is too freaking die for. The beef wellington was taste in parts but eating it all together for me the flavors didn't meld well. But I really loved having the opportunity to finally try the dish. It did look beautiful btw. If your in Owensboro KY you need to try this place out

Great Little Downtown Spot for Steaks, Seafood and Bourbon !! The CityWalk is a nice little downtown spot near the river to have a good meal. I was walking around the area and got hungry and since I was close to CityWalk, I decided to give it a try. CityWalk markets itself as 'Steak Seafood and Bourbon' so why not !! The inside was cozy and woody with a rustic decor which made the place very comfortable and enjoyable. I started with a Kentucky Craft beer and made the decision to try their Sirloin and Shrimp which was made from certified Hereford Corn-fed Cattle and a skewer of grilled shrimp with a sweet potatoes mash and green beans. The start salad was made from fresh-cut veggies with a side of honey-mustard dressing. The Steak was cooked to a perfect medium-rare and the shrimp were a good medium size, plump and juicy. Overall a simple but great meal in a wonderful space at a reasonable cost. I recommend adding CityWalk to your dining adventures whenever you are in the Owensboro area.

Didn't live up to the hype. While visiting Owensboro, we selected this place based on the menu and the reviews. Ordered the surf and turf pasta special; the beef was colorless and overcooked. Ordered the Aloha chicken with grilled veggies, but the veggies looked suspiciously frozen. Adult beverages were ok. The crab cakes were a good appetizer. Bottom line: would most likely not eat here again.
