The Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum in Owensboro, Kentucky, is a must-visit for music enthusiasts. The museum showcases the history of bluegrass through immersive displays and live shows. It's fitting that this attraction is located near the birthplace of Bill Monroe, known as the Father of Bluegrass. The Bluegrass Hall of Fame & Museum is a must-visit for any bluegrass fan! And even those who are not. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, making the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Wow, First Kathy Mattea and her musicians fantastic yesterday (9/21/2025). Love the matinee show. Was able to bring my monther who normally doesnt like to venture out at night. Great space to listen to music. Very few cellphones distracting from performance. Enjoyed so much purchase tickets for upcoming Ricky Skagg show in Dec.

My husband and I were in Kentucky for a wedding. We were walking around one morning exploring and decided to go into the Bluegrass. We know nothing about music or the musicians, but wanted to give it a try. Best decision ever! We stayed for almost two hours exploring the museum and all it offered. The audio tour was great! I learned so much and we both really enjoyed ourselves.
Angelica C — Google review
Amazing place. We learned so much about Bill Monroe, Jerry Garcia and Bluegrass music. The lady in the front desk was so welcoming, nice and friendly. The whole staff was great.
Mel. D — Google review
What an awesome museum for anyone, but especially a Bluegrass lover! One of my favorite parts was the pickin' parlor. I wish someone who could really play was there.... that would have been extra special!
Charlie P — Google review
We had a great time. The lady that helped us was very informative and sweet. This place was great 👍
Shirley B — Google review
If you love Bluegrass, you need to add this place to your bucket list! The exhibits come to life through a recorded self-paced tour, narrated by former Grand Ole Opry announcer and BanjoRadio.com founder Kyle Cantrell. If you're a picker, go on Saturday or Sunday afternoon for the free, open jam session. You don't even need to bring your instrument... just grab one off the wall and join in!
Karl P — Google review
Self guided audio tour. Very cool to pick up and play instruments and learn about the beginnings of the Blue Grass movement.

Nestled in the west of Owensboro, Western Kentucky Botanical Garden has been evolving for three decades. The 12-acre garden boasts various themed gardens such as an herb garden, English cottage garden, rose garden, children's garden, ericaceous garden, Japanese memorial garden and a Kentucky symbol quilt garden. It also features a University of Kentucky Extension display garden and a Western Kentucky University experimental garden for horticulture enthusiasts.
It was the most amazing day! I've already checked on the wedding venue aspect of it. It is more than worth the admission fee or a drive!
Moses M — Google review
Went today for the first time after having it saved for years on maps. It was well kept grounds, perfect weather today to tour the grounds. We enjoyed the beautiful flowers, trees, and landscaping. The fountains were also beautiful and peaceful. The place provided lots of seating and benches to relax along the way or enjoy the scenery. We paid $8 per adult to get in. Anyone who lives in the area should at least visit once.
Heather V — Google review
This botanical garden is absolutely stunning. The $8 entrance fee is very reasonable, especially given the beauty and care that has gone into maintaining the grounds. The gardens are immaculate, with an abundance of plants and several scenic walking paths that wind gracefully throughout the property. The atmosphere is tranquil and serene, making it the perfect place to relax, reflect, and enjoy nature.
Jordan A — Google review
Nice combo of plants, flowers and some sculptures. Very well kept. Last time we went was free but they have since acquired a historical house and expanded so there is a fee to get in but worth it. They also have a kids playhouse area that my nephews enjoyed. Only thing, I wish they’d clean up the lake and highlight the water more. So much potential there. Lots of places to sit and enjoy.

A must see when visiting Owensboro, KY. Pets mush be leashed. We visited during the summer (2025) and it was full of color and beautiful butterflies. 🦋 🦋 🦋 🦋 🦋

I personally am just rating this based on my interaction with the staff. I called to inquire about a wedding and spoke with Diana initially who was very kind and answered all my questions and then scheduled a time to come in to look at the venue for a wedding that I’m trying to set a date for soon. Well, I called back after looking at their website and seen that some prices were listed but not all, so I called back and spoke to someone else who was willing to answer questions but was very rude and also stated that I wouldn’t be saving any money by booking certain rooms and they wouldn’t be willing to just rent the porch to me when someone else is willing to pay more for the whole house “because thats bad for buisness” which is fine but the website lists individual rooms with pricing so I thought it wouldn’t be an issue to ask and I ended the call. Decided to call back and cancel my appointment instead of just not showing up and was met with “Oh, are we out of your price range?” Just very rude, which is unfortunate because I was in love with the photos I had seen of the venue online and was just excited to know more about it and had been talking to my fiancée about it non stop.
Katelyn — Google review
A hidden gem located around an historic mansion. Great place for special events like bridal showers and weddings as was happening on the day we stopped for our first visit. We were greeted by a very friendly volunteer and enjoyed a beautiful walk in the gardens. What delightful place with many exhibits.
Don A — Google review
First time at botanical garden and enjoyed it. Just wished the maps/brochure and donation box was relocated from old entrance to new one. We did not find brochures until the end of our trip through garden. Easy walking paths throughout and benches available for those that need them or would just like to sit and enjoy the view.

Nature & Parks
Smothers Park, located in downtown Owensboro along the picturesque Ohio River, is a top-rated destination for families and outdoor enthusiasts. The park features an expansive playground, a splash park, and three stunning fountains that perform captivating water shows every 15 minutes. Visitors can also enjoy a tranquil waterfall feature cascading into the river and take in scenic views of the Owensboro Bridge connecting to Indiana.
Our absolute favorite park! We drive two hours just to play here! Although, in the 6ish times we have been, the splash pad has never been fully working. I do wish there were more bathrooms as well. There are only 3 stalls for the women and only 1 for the men. With a splash pad, it would be nice to have just changing rooms too. But, the playground alone makes the drive worth it. You can't beat the views either.
Randi D — Google review
Such a nice riverfront walk. We enjoyed the water features, the porch style swings with a view of the river and the nicely paved walkway which makes it easy to explore. There is even a large playground along with a splash pad for the kiddos, nestled right next to concession stands full of refreshment options. The park bathrooms were clean, although they had a bad odor. We even had the pleasure of live music by an older gentleman playing guitar on a street bench.
Shawna B — Google review
Great little park. Perfect sunset evening. Definitely the biggest play area i seen. Kids would love it. Plenty of places to sit and relax.
Tina C — Google review
Easily one of the nicest & well-maintained public parks I’ve seen in some time. There are multiple swing/slide options, plenty of obstacles to climb & everything throughout the play area is padded pretty well. The splash pad was also a hit with our kiddo, which is open between Memorial Day through Labor Day. Located right on the riverfront, there’s also plenty of space to walk & some fountains to check out as well. If you’re in the area, visiting here is a must ✌🏻
Chris V — Google review
This is by far the nicest park that’s open 24 hours secure well protected well taken care of and kids can get wet in the waterpark section. I can see why it was rated the number one park and all of United States so peaceful relaxing plenty of bench swings overlooking Ohio river so you can relax bring your grandparents and visit the veterans Circle there’s coffee shops ice cream shops there by far the best park I’ve ever been to United States and it’s all free. Street parking is free. There’s parking lots that are open to the public that are free and all the people that surround this park are Genuinely humble and nice.
Sal Y — Google review
We were staying at the Holiday inn and decided to take a walk along the riverfront. Very nice walkway and scenery along with a huge park for the kids. Neat fountains and some architecture.
Michael F — Google review
Impressive large playscape. No smoking at the park means no nasty cigarette butts from smokers who think the world is an ashtray. Nice waterfront to take a stroll.
LISA B — Google review
Excellent walkway along Ohio River, perfect for strolling. Cushioned kids playground, well maintained. Fairly spectacular water fountains. Nice stainless steel benches. Clean accessible restrooms. Stones throw away from downtown eateries. At night lights on Ohio River bridge (Blue Bridge) put on amazing show. One of the best parks anywhere, must see all free. You wont be disappointed. Very relaxing.

Specialty Museums
The Owensboro Museum of Science and History, established in 1966, is housed in a historic 19th-century building. It offers an engaging and educational experience for both adults and children. The museum features unique exhibits such as a large sucker fish tank, a train model, a mammoth skeleton, and touring Dino exhibit. Designed to captivate young minds, the interactive museum is located downtown in a grand four-story building from the early 20th century.
Great for small kids. Lots of open space for them to wander around and the play places designed for them are fantastic! My two year old was happy and entertained for 3 hours before she decided it was nap time. Best part is the $5 admission. I have to travel two and half hours to get there and it's totally worth it.
Jasmine M — Google review
This place is super cute with lots to do for as small as it seems from the outside!!!
Alissa T — Google review
This museum has tons of potential. They are working on updating it, but there is still alot that needs to be done. My kids really liked the cave and the cave fish and the upstairs play area. The upstairs play area really needs some updates, but it still kept them occupied. Its good for a rainy/cold day out of the house.
Laura R — Google review
I'll start by saying we got a military discount so it was only $2/ person to get in- which helped us enjoy it. The first floor starts out great with the birds, microscopes and a cave area. The area above the first floor (like level 1.5) was also neat but kinda underwhelming. The second floor was lame, a lot of wasted space in the presidential area that didn't have really anything on display. They definitely need to modernize their exhibits (especially since none of the TVs were even on) and upgrade their sad, old taxidermy. It's cute and has a lot of potential, but I'd love to see this place grow bigger- especially repurposing the second floor to actual exhibits. Otherwise, we had an okay hour or so looking around for $6.
Kelsey M — Google review
An Interesting Place with a lot for kids to do. They seemed to be updating the second floor while we were there (may 2023). Which certainly needed done... Also, I agree they could clean this place a little better, but it probably is no dirtier than your average city park... Good, cheap fun... Give the kids a bath afterwards!
James Y — Google review
Great place to take kids. Very inexpensive with lots of educational materials that are presented in many fun different ways.
Darren F — Google review
If you have children doing a project or know someone who is interested in dinosaurs. This is the place to take them. They can learn so much in one day. And the neatest part it's all pretty much hands on. It was a great experience and so many different things to see. My all time favorite would of been the old cars there and the gem fossils. Hehe maybe even the taxidermy animals to. Gives you close up of the actual size of a fully grown. Just amazed at what we learned and would definitely be back soon for another visit..
Jessica B — Google review
Great kids play area on the second floor. In my opinion it's ideal for kiddos under 5 years old. It has a changing station and only one open entry/exit point. The rest of the museum is probably 3 stars, but they have a few things in the works that sound promising.

The Owensboro Museum of Fine Art boasts a diverse collection featuring European and Asian fine art as well as Appalachian folk art. The museum's antebellum house and stained glass exhibit add to its charm, while the kaleidoscope room promises an unforgettable experience.
What a great little museum!!! I was the only patron there and it took about 45 minutes to walk through and see everything. Had a great time…and have to say it was cool being the only person in a museum.
Hank H — Google review
Had a great time! Beautiful artwork. Friendly staff. Will definitely come back.
Courtney B — Google review
Excellent, most of the artwork is modern but it's actually amazing. There is also an area with elaborate stained glass windows and another area with rebuilt rooms of 18th or 18th century furnishings and house goods. Some were quite exotic, like the late 19th century (i think) Chinese room shades. In a historical building with character; staff is friendly, admission was free but they requested $3 donation.
Scott M — Google review
Free to get in, donation based. Highly suggest going to check out the local artists & amazing works. They also have a beautiful gift shop from local artists. Absolutely amazing exhibits & 2 floors with plenty of rooms to spend hours getting lost in
Nova E — Google review
My first visit was very enjoyable. The only part I didn't care for, was the glass canes. Why would you dedicate an entire floor to them? Really could have kept a dozen or so, and put some more works on display. Definitely could use some more information about the exhibits as well. Maybe a program or some cards? But I will be returning for the next exhibition.
Stacey D — Google review
Very nice museum; affordable family fun. Well curated and exhibits and things for every age and taste. Friendly helpful staff. Nice gift shop as well.
Lucas K — Google review
Museum admittance is free but they encourage a $3 donation. The exhibits included modern day religious art and paintings by Jim Cantrell. The Cantrell exhibit took up the majority of the museum and though interesting, was a bit repetitive. Would have liked to seen different artists. There is a small gift shop with a few hand made crafts and artwork.
Sarah H — Google review
Nice museum. Admission is a $3 donation, which is definitely worth it. Due to Covid19, they do temperature checks and provide hand sanitizer when you come in. (Just helpful information just in case you are putting off going to museum because of covid.) Building looks small but we spent over two hours looking at the art. Lots of displays from artist from Kentucky. There is a stain glass collection, junior artist section, quilt displays and much more to enjoy. You have to try the kaleidoscope cave, which is even fun for the adults. There is sculptures also outside the facility to enjoy.

Distillery
Nestled in the western part of Owensboro, Green River Distilling Co. is one of the oldest bourbon distilleries globally, dating back to 1885. It's the tenth-oldest in Kentucky and a prominent stop on the renowned Kentucky Bourbon Trail. The eighth-generation Master Distiller Jacob Call now oversees operations at this iconic distillery along the Ohio River. Visitors are greeted with the sweet aroma of aging bourbon upon entering, offering a journey through Kentucky's rich bourbon-making heritage.
We were originally scheduled to visit on a Friday, but were held up in transit due to the weather. I called and the staff made it very easy to reschedule. We arrived for our rescheduled tour on Saturday and were greeted and welcomed immediately. After a short wait, we embarked on an intimate tour of the grounds and operation with a very knowledgeable guide. There’s a ton of history, as this is the 10th oldest distillery in Kentucky. The grounds and facilities were beautiful, and it was great to hear about the campus and how it had evolved over the decades. At the end of the tour, we were treated to a tasting and a few small complimentary souvenirs. We loved it the whole experience, and recommend it hands-down!
Charlie M — Google review
The Green River Tour was one for the books. We had been waiting for the opportunity to visit the site and we were delighted that we were able to this trip. Our tour guide Josh shared the historical significance of the distillery and insight on their future plans within the industry. We really enjoyed being able to thief out the barrel as well.
Shai E — Google review
This was our first KY Bourbon Trail experience. We now plan on doing more. However, I think the Green River experience, along with our tour guide’s (Nate) knowledge and expertise, will be difficult to match! First of all, the Green River grounds are simply stunning. Kudos to your groundskeepers! Next, the hour long tour, itself, was wonderful. Nate is extremely knowledgeable and thorough. He explained the history of your company, the industry, and the distillery process in such a way that both novices (like myself) and experts could both understand and appreciate. Nate is a wonderful representative of your brand. Finally, the tasting was wonderful. The care and craftsmanship is evident in your products. The whole experience was first class!
Mike A — Google review
We had a fantastic time on this tour. It was first class and our guide/host Josh, was absolutely phenomenal. Very informative, we really enjoyed going into the Rick house and experiencing the spirits right from the barrel. This truly was a memorable experience and we look forward to returning.
Wesley W — Google review
Great place, try some whiskey and aged whiskey bourbon. People really friendly and nice here and they take care of you. Explain everything by the time you get to the fourth bottle which is 117th proof you’re nicely buzzed. Don’t forget to go to the gift shop check out the little museum and if you can do the tour, I recommend ……,Which we came late. Once you go to the main gates drive straight to the back and that’s where you can find everything, great taste and whiskey.
Sal Y — Google review
Missed this place the first time I visited Louisville, but it was on my 'must do' list on my recent visit. We really enjoyed tasting two excellent bourbon's and made a purchase. The staff is friendly and helpful.
Larry H — Google review
Absolutely beautiful distillery in Owensboro, KY! I highly recommend taking the tour with tasting. Cannot wait to visit Green River in the future. The whole staff is exceptional and knowledgeable. When you enter those doors, you become an old friend.
Katie G — Google review
The Green River Distillery Tour & Tasting was excellent, one of the best after visiting many over the years (our tour guide Nate was fantastic). I had not sampled any of Green River's products before visiting the distillery, but immediately like their whiskeys (bourbon, wheated bourbon, rye, full proof bourbon). The history was interesting, glad to see this distillery and name resurrected.

Moonlite Bar-B-Q Inn is a renowned BBQ restaurant in Owensboro, Kentucky, established in 1963. It is famous for its old-fashioned cooking style using customized hickory fire pits to slow-cook hand-picked meats, resulting in a distinctive hickory flavor. Moonlite is credited with originating mutton barbecue, slow-cooked adult sheep meat. Voted the Best Barbecue in Kentucky, it offers lunch and dinner buffets featuring endless barbecued meats and traditional sides.
Oh My Goodness!! The food here is delicious! We had the buffet, and lemme say, they got enough on there to satisfy your hunger. Everything we tried was delish! It was very crowded when we went (Saturday lunch), and the area we sat had a lot of sound, land it didn’t travel well. But after some of the guest left it quieted down considerably and it was much more enjoyable. Parking is plenty. It is hidden in an entrance, so you can’t see it from the road. Lots of seating, lots of choices.
Megan P — Google review
People talked so highly about this place, so I drove almost three hours to experience it. Customer service was fantastic, the waitress was sweet, polite, pretty great. Food it's what I like to call "geriatric". Nothing special, some of the meat was very dry. I really wanted to like this place, I was rooting for it. But no, unfortunately I'm not interested in coming back. 😞 💔
NAC — Google review
We stopped in at the Moonllite Bar-B-Q Inn in Owensboro Kentucky because we had heard a lot of good things about them. And the salad bar vegetables and deserts were good the Mutton was okay but nothing special. I did like the pork . The service was very good and the atmosphere was good . The Bar B Q was okay at best. And when I received instant mashed potatoes I was extremely disappointed. And me and my Son both confirmed that they were instant. I wasn’t impressed and I will say the Banana Pudding and the Broccoli Casserole were awesome. Overall I wouldn’t give a high recommendation. It didn’t live up to the hype.
Halfdeadedd — Google review
Meh. I really wanted to like this place because it has a 4.5 rating overall. But the food was meh. We ordered the combo plate to share. The mutton was pretty good! Moist and tender. Same for the pork. But the brisket was dry and tough. And even though it has a smoke ring, there was almost no smoke flavor. I was hoping for some great southern BBQ, but I'll pass on this place.
Steven H — Google review
Heard nothing but good things about this place so we had to see for ourselves. I was not impressed in any way. The meat was dry. Everything needed a ton of salt and pepper. The decor was absolutely depressing and it was very dimly lit. I had a fully loaded plate and didn't eat most of it. Paid for the buffet and never went back up after my first uneaten plate.
Nat — Google review
Moonlite BBQ is one of my all-time favorite spots to eat in Owensboro. I usually swing through solo for a mutton sandwich to go; slice of onion, a couple pickles, nothing fancy, just right. But this time, I brought my wife, my kid, and my mom to make it a full-blown family pilgrimage. I ordered the sampler with a toasted bun, BBQ baked beans, and fries. Every bite still holds up. The mutton has that signature smoky twang, the beans taste like somebody’s grandma still stirs them, and the fries could hold their own in a state fair competition. The place hasn’t changed much over the years, which is part of the charm. The decor is peak Kentucky nostalgia. You’ll find everything from antique saw blades to a wall of autographed celebrity photos. Kevin Costner and Bill Clinton both ate here, which tells you something, either the food’s really good or the Secret Service is real into burgoo. The gift shop has everything you didn’t know you needed, including BBQ sauce, weird knickknacks, and what appears to be every pig-themed item ever manufactured. Bottom line: If you’re anywhere near Owensboro and don’t stop at Moonlite, that’s on you.
Palmer H — Google review
It's a BBQ buffet - and it was everything I expected it to be! It's been two days and my hubby is still talking about it lol. He said the only thing wrong with the place is the fact we live hundreds of miles away from it. I'm also a super picky person who has the pallete of a 5 year old, and there was plenty of food I loved as well. The desert bar was delicious too, and the surprise of finding pistachio fluff was second to none!
TheDanePack — Google review
I drive over an hour to eat here on Friday evenings with my family on occasion. This is how a buffet-style restaurant should be operated. It’s always clean and fully stocked. On top of that, the food is genuinely delicious, like home-cooked food. The BBQ is amazing, and I’ve never had a bad experience, even when it’s been a busy time. I appreciate all the people who make this place a great place to stop and look forward to going back when we have time.

First time in Owensboro and wanted to go out to eat and get a drink. I found this restaurant not too far away from the hotel I was staying at. The experience is magical, I felt like I had stepped back in time. The food was excellent and they have a good selection of Bourbon. I had a ribeye which was to die for. Will be going back soon!

This evening, I had the pleasure of dining with my mother at The Miller House. The experience was unforgettable. The house, erected in the early 1900s, displayed a timeless southern elegance. The service was exceptional and the cuisine was outstanding. This is a highly recommended destination for those in the area.

Had a weekend trip to Owensboro and had someone recommend this place. So we stopped in, in casual clothes, sans reservation. Though they were busy (looked like Prom night) they fit us in immediately. Friendly staff, great service. Food was excellent, and quickly prepared. The Bourbon collection, in the basement bar was impressive.
Justin B — Google review
This is the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. The steak tasted boiled, they rent out the basement bar on Saturday nights (who does that???), the server didn't want to ask the bartender to make a drink because he might get mad, service was non-existent, no manager in sight to even check on you, tried to get a pour of bourbon but the server didn't want to make the bartender mad again. The Aisha girl is rude and an absolute joke.

Stopped here for lunch while we were in the area for business! I had the Vegetable Platter (broccoli, squash, spinach, green beans, and mashed potatoes) with a cup of chicken and artichoke soup. My husband had half of a fried green tomatoes BLT and a chef salad! Soooo good! Best fried green tomatoes we’ve ever had so far! Salad was fresh! Vegetables were filling! Definitely on our favorites list!

The remarkable ancient tree, adorned with intricately ridged bark that highlights its unique personality, stands as a captivating testimony of history. The majestic Sassafras Tree, known for its age and significance, has become a revered landmark over time. Its aged appearance showcases the wisdom gained through countless years of existence. With deeply furrowed bark that bears witness to the passage of time, this historical marvel embodies the spirit and heritage of bygone eras.
Amazing old tree with deeply grooved bark showing it's character!

Huge Sassafras Tree but it’s in rough condition. Check it out while you can.
Jeff G — Google review
While the sheer circumference of the trunk is impressive, the tree has suffered in recent years. Utility lines that run through its branches have required extensive pruning as has its growth out over Frederica Street. Tourists literally have to pull over and park on busy KY-2831 southbound to get out to view the tree which is near the edge of the road but on private property. So it is not a spot where one feels comfortable to pause, rest or meditate.
Paul F — Google review
Hmmm... Sure it is a true historical treasure, but compared to the 3000 year old, 15ft diameter trees we've seen in sequoia national park, it just didn't have a big wow factor. Worth a stop if in the the very near vacinity. Sad to see the tree has experienced some major trimming/damage.
Gough G — Google review
I have lived in Owensboro all of my life except eight years. My children and grandchildren know of this tree. They find it amazing as well as I do. If you are in Owensboro and can take a few minutes out of your time, by all means stop by and see the tree and read the Historical Marker. Just stop and think about how this tree has been around when nothing much else was here.
Carol B — Google review
Unbelievable. Seriously a must see! A true gentleman of awesomeness, one that cannot be missed if you are in a 200 mile radius. Only tree I've seen better is a MAYBE a California redwood. But it is a toss up...
David A — Google review
Oh my God. This tree. This tree works miracles. Here is the tale of this tree. One day, as my family was leaving the town, we were looking for something to do. My mother found that the worlds biggest sassafras tree was around the area. I was not particularly excited, because, after all, we were just going to see some tree. But that's what I thought. He is so much more than a tree. That day, I got out of the car, Not particularly excited to see "Some tree." I walked up to the tree, and then it hit me. I saw all of its inner beauty. I looked up, examining it, and touching it, stroking it, unable to let go. I started uncontrollably sobbing. It had gotten cut down for being too tall. I was devistated. Heartbroken. I slowly ran my hand down its bark, comforting it, while tears were streaming down my face. I named him Bartholemeu. A few beautiful, calm, moments passed when I heard my mom call for me to get in the car and hurry up because they were freezing. I gave Bartholemeu a gentle goodbye kiss, and broke off a piece of his bark so I can always have him with me. A few months of pure pain passed. How was I supposed to go on without Bartholemeu in my sights? Obviously, I took pictures and printed them out, sticking them all over my room. But pictures weren't the same. The only thing that kept me going was the sacred, beloved, blessed bark that I had snapped off Bartholemeu. I gently stroked it, for hours every day. I've begged my parents, time after time, to let us go visit Bartholemeu again. They keep asking about my "Weird obsession" with this tree. They also said it was too far away for nothing. I screamed and cried, Howling at them out of anger, by calling Bartholemeu just a mere tree, and "Nothing." If my dear Bartholemeu is listening, This is one thing I have to say to him. My dear Bartholemeu, o how my heart has gone out in sorrow for you, the many tears that have been fallen for you are countless. You are the most special thing in my life. I promise to see you again some day.
Nut S — Google review
Blink and you'll miss it driving on Frederica. It has a historic plaque if you visit on foot that's pretty interesting. The city has to do something about people littering near it.

Old Hickory Bar-B-Que is a historic BBQ restaurant in Owensboro, known for its traditional slow-cooked barbecue infused with hickory wood smoke. For over 100 years, they have maintained the same recipes and attention to detail, earning them numerous awards. Their menu features a variety of dishes including mutton, burgoo, fried chicken, catfish, and their famous slow-smoked ribs with a unique home dressing.
We had dined a little late because the ribs and beef brisket were sold out!! I got the smoked turkey with mashed potatoes, baked beans & cornbread. My friend got smoked ham with same two sides with cornbread. Both of us had sweet Tea & dessert . (Will go back and try the smoked brisket another day). Restaurant was clean, the waitress was very polite and knowledgeable. The food was delicious.

This place is famous for their barbecue... Which is pretty decent. The service was rough because the place was crowded... The workers were very nice, and that seemed like they tried hard to keep up... but the wait was really long, and some of the food actually seemed dry. The flavor was great. I see why some people think this is the greatest barbecue joint in the world, but I don't know if I would go that far myself. It's quaint, and if you want to try some old school kentucky mutton, this is your place.

Mike R — Google review
I was told randomly from my girlfriend and coworkers that Owensboro is known for it's fantastic BBQ. So my girlfriend recommended I try this place out. The atmosphere gives me old cottage vibes with a ton of local flare. There are awards and accolades from various magazines and Food network plastered all over the place so I was excited to try this place out. A lovely touch that I truly respected was the way they support the other local businesses in the area. Their tables are basically a "yellow pages" for various businesses in Owensboro and it really added to the home town feel of the place. I went with the combination plate so I could try various types of meat from their BBQ. I went with their Brisket, Baby back ribs, and their 1/4 white meat BBQ chicken. For sides, I opted for baked beans and mashed potatoes and gravy. The combo platter came out faster than expected and HOLY MOLEY is that a lot of food! Everything was amazing! The brisket was so tender and was fortunate to have pieces of that oh so yummy bark too! The baby back ribs did not disappoint as the meat had a great bite and feel of the bone without being overly tender. The chicken was juicy and cooked just right, although a few bites near the edge of the breast were a tad dry but overall amazing. The mashed potatoes were really really good and the baked beans were a little too vinagery for my own taste, but I finished them all regardless so they were still pretty good. There was a table next to me complimenting to each other how exquisite the Mac'n'cheese was. I felt left out as I didn't get to try any. The old lady, probably in her 80s, and I quote, "this Mac'n'cheese kicks ass!". I chuckled to myself and even thought about ordering some for myself but I was already stuffed. The only thing I felt weird about was the plain slices of your ordinary classic white bread and wheat bread that came with the platter. I asked the waitress and she said that it's common for people to make sandwiches out of their BBQ entrees. I would love to have had some corn bread instead. The sauce I had was their original vinegar based sauce which was tangy and delicious, though I do wish they had their other sauces to try. I could be nit-picky and comment on the lack of napkins at a BBQ place, but let's be real, I licked my fingers clean because everything was absolutely amazing.
William S — Google review
Brisket and mash potatoes for whole table was cold, some were lukewarm. Server was amazing but didn’t bring anymore soda after the 2nd one but she was amazing, if you put barbecue sauce on brisket you should put that on the menu so someone who’s never been will know. I didn’t know and the sauce wasn’t great unfortunately. I’ve heard good things about this place, but it did not meet my expectations! $5 for half filled cup of sides is a rip off, normally the bbq would make up for it, not this time sadly.
Evan H — Google review
Food was ok. Our server delayed putting out order in because we were waiting on the mac and cheese to be made and didn't want everything else cold. When our orders were brought to the table, the mac and cheese was very watery and already cold. The brisket was tender but lacking in flavor. No BBQ sauce on our table or nearby tables. The ribs were small, tough and tasted mostly of vinegar. Our server was fine, but service itself was a little slow given how many people we saw working and how few tables there were. Decor was old and the ceiling was gross. The table and menu are absolutely covered in advertising and "sponsorships". We won't be returning.
Jordan K — Google review
Wasn't what I was expecting this place should have been. I got the sampler three meats none of the meat had a smokey taste. It was juicy not tender. The Cole slaw was good just tasted like it had little of a vinegar taste the tater salad was good different. And dessert chocolate cream pie was perfect!

A great venue in downtown Owensboro. Plenty of room for large conventions, meetings, reunions, receptions and more. The facility is modern and quite beautiful. Very accessible with plenty of parking around the center. Very accessible to those with handicaps with entry ramps, large doors and elevators to access uper levels. The facility is located on 2nd Street along the scenic Ohio river with several hotels within easy walking distance.

Fantastic, awesome and beautiful! We walked the boardwalk, watched several bands and had some drinks. You don't need to bring chairs as they have some at the stages. Legion Park is a charming 22-acre green space located in the south of Owensboro. It has been a popular picnic spot for over 130 years and offers various amenities for visitors to enjoy. The park features a modern SprayPark, open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, as well as a playground, walking trails with workout equipment, basketball and tennis courts, picnic shelters, and even a soccer court and dog park.
I visited my sister who still loves in Owensboro, where we both grew up, and took my nephews to the Christmas lights at Legion Park. It was surreal being back there as an adult, taking some kids to a thing I used to do as a kid. The part equipment is a blast. The lights were great. The paths are smooth and fun for the kids' scooters. It was awesome.

My kids usually love legion Park but honestly it could really be bigger. It's the perfect location for a big nice park and every time we're there it's packed. My only complaint is that the spray Park have a different set up. It's dangerous I don't know how many times my kids have fallen on that wet cement! Our waitress was so pleasant and gave us just the right amount of time to look at menues. She answered questions and advised us of specials. I got the shrimp appetizer which was DELICIOUS, So much flavor! I also got the mushroom and shrimp dip and it was also delicious. Edited to accommodate the mentioned needed changes below. I had the chicken and waffles. I would never recommend due to the high sugar content in the waffles alone. I don’t know what they put in the waffles to make them sweet but the waffles were overly sweet even before I used any syrup. I tried to use some syrup, but the waffles were so sweet the syrup tasted like it was not sweet at all. I eventually decided to not even use the syrup because I was disgusted by how much sugar was in the waffles by themselves. I made the mistake of ordering the honeybun tea. It was also overly sweet and I only drank 1/4 of it before I was disgusted and poured it out in the bathroom sink. Staff was nice and polite. I paid around $14 for both items. I’ve had other items from this store before and have not had issues.

We received our breakfast items in good time, but our 2 coffees took another 10 minutes because the only employee not on the register took care of new food orders while nobody took care of coffee orders until the food orders were done. After having paid the tip, we had to go to the counter to pick up our coffees, napkins, etc. I shouldn't have left a tip. Food was ok, not great. Coffee was bleh l. We will not be back.

Every drink I've ever had here has been great there are just small things that annoy me. First, there are no prices on the menu. I hate that. I want to know what my options are. 2. They don't have paper towels or anything worthwhile to wipe the table off. They have a few napkins the thickness of a kleenex. (I shouldn't have to be wiping the table off to begin with) But also bathrooms should have paper towels. 3. They're expensive. 2 small drinks cost $12 dollars. That's crazy. A case of cokes is overpriced at $8-$9 but at least I get 12 of them.

Fun little coffee shop with quirky furniture and decor. Drinks were very very good as was the desert. Nice enough to eat out on the sidewalk in front of the shop.

Reid's Orchard, located in Kentucky, is a family-run orchard that has been operating for over 150 years. The orchard hosts an annual Apple Festival in October, featuring food and craft stalls, kids' entertainment, and more. Visitors can also stop by the Apple House year-round to purchase farm-fresh fruits, vegetables, and flowers. The orchard offers a variety of produce such as strawberries, peaches, blackberries, pears, cherries, and apples.
Got fresh cider to make hard cider, apples and jellies of different flavors and chow-chow. Come here every year about this time. Have been buying fresh fruit from them since they were on W. Parrish (years).. Great stuff !!!

Lots of great options here. It was fun for my boys to peruse the candy sticks that I used to take my time picking as a child. The prices haven’t changed by much. They have apple cider slushies that are amazing. Pretty much apple cider from their farm turned into ice/slushie form. The cherry and strawberry flavored ones are a sno cone syrup. There are festivals here, corn mazes, a kids playing area, etc in the fall. Not right now tho. I’m not sure if they still do U pick but that might be an option too.

What an incredible place! We stayed the night via Harvest Hosts and are so glad we did. The property is gorgeous and the owner and staff are friendly and welcoming. Not to mention the produce, flowers, and market are fantastic. We can’t wait to come back!

Requiring parents to pay to enter the playland area is taken advantage of the fact children cannot enter without a parent. Being told by a company that I have to pay to supervise my own children doesn't sit right with me. I reckon if you didn't charge the parents you'd just inflate the children's price. I can honestly say as a mother of 6 children I've never been FORCED to pay to enter a place where my children play. An area that is STRICTLY for children. Do better for your community.

Donut shop
Nestled in the heart of downtown Owensboro, Gramps Coffee & Donuts is a delightful haven for coffee and donut enthusiasts alike. This charming café boasts a spacious dining area with an inviting outdoor seating option, making it perfect for enjoying your favorite espresso drinks alongside their uniquely crafted donuts. The menu features an array of beverages, including coffees, teas, and refreshing chilled options. One standout treat is the Berry Good donut, topped with a cherished strawberry icing recipe passed down through generations from the owner's grandmother.
This cute little cafe has DELICIOUS and unique donuts. I enjoyed my cream cold brew and whiskey business donut (although I wish it had more whiskey flavor). The dough is like a soft croissant donut and it’s amazing. Wish I had gotten more than one. Glad this place exists to offer people something better than ordinary donuts!
Kelly B — Google review
I always look for local coffee shops when I travel, and I’m so glad I found Gramps. I really appreciated the attention to detail on their website—it stood out in the best way and gave me a feel for the place before I ever stepped inside. I went down a bit of a rabbit hole and fell in love with the vibe and story behind this shop before I even visited. Gramps didn’t disappoint. The coffee was delicious, and the donuts were good—not the best I’ve ever had, but they had a fun croissant-like texture that made them unique. Only wish I could have met the infamous Gramps. Definitely worth the stop!
Emily D — Google review
Delicious croissant style donut and good coffee—tried the chocolate but they had a lot of interesting flavors (berry, orange, snickerdoodle). Get there early bc some were already sold out!

Great environment! Great selection of donuts and coffees! Plenty of room to sit in the front or the back of store. 3 donuts and 16oz coffee was $12.46.

Came here for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. It was cold and raining thunderstorms outside so we came in for a coffee and donuts to let the storm pass. The donuts are amazing, buttery, flaky, crispy, fluffy, and very enjoyable! I had a chocolate and my girl had the snickerdoodle. As for the coffee, I tried one of their specialty coffees, white coconut mocha. She has an iced honey pecan. We both enjoyed our food and drinks. The only thing I could suggest to make this place feel better, but not taking a star from, would be to have actual mugs/cups for those who dine in. It would give it a much more personal cafe feel to it. Looking forward to coming back

Restaurant
Ole South Barbeque is a laid-back eatery that serves up simple Southern barbecue dishes like pulled pork and ribs, as well as breakfast options. The menu offers a variety of delicious items, making it difficult to choose just one. Some highlights include the BBQ rib platter with slow-cooked chunks of ribs and the Owensboro-style Burgoo bowl. The buffet features a wide selection of smoked meats, chicken, pork, and sides, including the local favorite burgoo.
Today was mine and my husband's first time eating here. I'd considered going here after finding this place online last year. I'm so glad we did! We ate from the buffet, had 2 diet dr peppers. The drink had great carbonation, I fixed a salad, after had pulled pork and a few sides. It all tasted homemade, unsure if it was or not. It tasted amazing, seasoned perfectly and great! The hostess was good, refilling drinks often and checking on us. I noticed they also had a soup bar and dessert bar. They also had 5 televisions on with various shows to watch. I'd most definitely definitely return here!

A happy finds on a road trip from TN to Illinois; we stopped for lunch/brunch on a Saturday. The food was fresh and tasty. Nice salad bar, nice hot food bar, plus soup bar and dessert bar. Something here for everyone. Good prices and friendly service.

Very reasonably priced for everything offered on the buffet. Real meat selections not that see through bacon you get at other breakfast places. And those homemade blueberry muffins were awesome.

I have been on a lifelong pursuit, a pursuit that has taken me to every corner of the globe… the pursuit to find the perfect Bacon. This pursuit came to an end when I ran up on that Ole South breakfast buffet a couple years ago. I don’t know what type of sorcery they use to cook that bacon, but it will make your taste buds sing with delight. You won’t get any of that almost cooked floppy bacon. It’s all crispy and melts in your mouth. The experience will get you all in your feelings, so proper precautions are required. You’ve been warned. I come to Owensboro a couple times a year to visit family, the Ole South breakfast buffet is always on the itinerary.
CyberAutomate — Google review
The first thing I did was check their website for prices says the family packs 20$ and ribs are 9.99 a pound. Once I decided what I wanted I had there to pick it up for dinner for my family tonight when I got there the prices were different. It was now 2999 for the fam 4 pack and 1499 a lb for ribs. I said fine. When I went to Pay, the girl said let’s wait and see how much they weigh. I thought that was funny but I waited figuring to be somewhere around 40 to 45 bucks when the lady came out she said the ribs weighed almost 3 pounds so my bill was gonna be $76, my meal was 30 bucks. That means it is $50 and ribs. It says it was 1495. She said a pound I said really. I said there’s a rack of ribs in here and they were 50 bucks. She said yep they weighed 3 pounds. I said it’s kind of ridiculous who comes to pay $50 for a rack of ribs. Where can you buy a rack of ribs for 50 bucks thats pretty expensive I definitely didn’t want $55 in ribs. At this point, she started looking past me as if I didn’t exist anymore. I just need to grab my bag and go at the moment. I felt done pretty wrong, but I would head and paid. Maybe I’ve made a mistake and I should eat this when I get home. I told my wife about it and we get out the food scale and I set the container on the food scale. It says it’s not even 2 pounds of meat. Pretty much totally lied. There wasn’t any buns in there so all I had was a half a pound of two kinds of meat a $55 rack of ribs with no bread no barbecue sauce or anything to put on the ribs. It was dry as hell. I called up there to talk to a manager and on a Friday and the busiest day of the week. There was no manager to get a hold of the blonde girl in the front of the store. Could care less about anything you say, she doesn’t even look in the eye when you’re talking to her. I took pictures of everything to share to everybody. I’m never gonna go back here again. They’re bad people. They got people there that don’t care about anything and obviously that was a substantial lie saying that my food was 3 pounds when it was less than two, I want my money back. You ruined my dinner. Edit. Been a week. No call back from missing managers. Like I said. They could care less. Thinking about small claims. It’s only 35. More than worth it.

Awesome time seeing Kansas in concert. They were extremely accommodating for my father who is handicapped and walks with a cane. They were able to provide us with handicap seating and were nice to us. I did happen to be in the middle of a situation where a lady ran up and interrupted a usher while she was talking to another guest and the usher wasn't having it lol. She let the interrupter have it lol. All in all, staff were very helpful. Lots of drunk people. Just be ready for that if you go for a concert where they are serving.

The building itself was fine, maybe a little hot. Went for the circus with family. General admission is not wheelchair accessible as it is all upper seating. Music was super loud yet entertaining. Very expensive activities that presented to be a part of what you paid but isn't.

Attended a high school basketball tournament there in January. The facility was clean but showing it's age. The upper area seating was 1950's era wooden bleachers with original concrete floor and steps. The lower arena had comfortable plastic chairback setting but not much leg room. I didn't see any handicap accessible seating and saw 2 men lift and carry an elderly woman from her wheelchair to the seats. The restrooms were very clean and well lit. Though there were several concession stand locations, only one was open and this resulted in long lines. Overall a good experience. Our team won...lol.

Becka H — Google review
I really don’t enjoy leaving negative reviews, and this place has a LOT of great things about it too…but I do feel that people as well as the owners should be aware of certain things. The main thing I’ve experienced all three times is that it is never quick. The first time I got a drink, and it was wonderful, and the girls that were working there are always sweet, but I do feel there needs to be a better way of tracking orders. Twice now they have “forgotten” my order. Today we waited almost 20 minutes for an omelette….and when I saw the family that came in after me getting all of their food, I went up and asked. They were sweet and apologetic but when I got my omelette (which I heard one of the girls say it had been started and she forgot it) it was chewy, pretty sad, and also wrong. I was trying to give them the benefit because I know food service is hard. This is all mainly to say, this place has some wonderful qualities- more good than bad for sure, but they need help with their ticketing/tracking orders and speed.
Hannah A — Google review
I've tried to eat bubble waffles here twice with no success. Unfortunately, the customer service is lacking. Maybe it is a lack of training but no one has been friendly to me once and I've been here 7 times now. Two times ago I could hear the employees gossip about other employees while I waited for the food I ordered that never came. While waiting to order this last time someone from the back was able to come up to the front and talk to the busy employee we were waiting on about gossip before retreating back to the back. Maybe they were understaffed but if you can come to the front to distract the busy barista then maybe you could take my order. I'd been waiting for 3 or 4 minutes and, with the recent memory of my order getting lost while employees gossiped to each other, I decided it wasn't worth waiting and left. I don't think I'll be back. Best of luck to them all and I wish them well.
Matt H — Google review
We enjoyed the aesthetic walking in but everything after that was highly disappointing. We ordered two coffees, an acai bowl and a chicken wrap for $27. It took a very long time to receive what we ordered (over 20 mins), coffees included, and they messed up half of it. We also overheard them make mistakes with others as well. Mind you, only about 5 other people were in the place with at least three employees working. No one greeted us. But the most upsetting part was that there was no changing table in the bathroom!!! It was the first time mom felt confident enough to bring the baby out, just wanted to enjoy some coffee. We had to change a three week old baby on your bathroom floor. New mama and baby were in tears. Your other location has been open long enough to know this is a necessity. Definitely wouldn’t be able to fit a wheelchair through the door either. Not family friendly, we will not be back. In response to owner: The açaí bowl was out quickly because it was pre made and only needed to be topped with fruit. While I do not believe it was only 13 mins, that is still much too long for very basic food and drinks (neither our drinks were out in three mins of ordering btw) with minimal people in the establishment. There were girls there prior to us who still hadn’t received their food/drinks until after we did and we witnessed your staff walk out with a food item that no one had ordered, and then proceeded to laugh in response each time they made a mistake. They certainly did not greet us (until after I said hello), but did greet the man who came after. The chicken wrap was ordered without tomatoes, but came with them and I opted to not complain due to the length of time I knew it’d take to correct. Would highly suggest spending more time working on the efficiency of staff/quality of food, and improving upon suggestions made by others rather than taking time to review footage and attempting to prove paying customers wrong (: we appreciate your acknowledgement of the changing table! The stroller had little wiggle room fitting through door so a wheelchair would seem difficult.

Nice trails here to walk. There are quite a few different species of birds here. There are exercise stations along the paths. The only thing I would like to see improved would be the surface of the trails. This time of year they are a muddy mess. If more of the trails were to be covered in crushed rock or crushed asphalt like the rest of the trails.

City Walk of Owensboro is a popular dining spot in downtown Owensboro, offering good comfort food in a casual setting. The menu features simple yet hearty options such as old-fashioned meatloaf and bourbon glazed pork loin. Additionally, patrons can enjoy a bourbon flight with the option to choose four 1-oz bourbons at half the menu price.
You know what it’s like to have dinner at a place and say wow that was the best food I’ve had then go back a second time and say ehhhh not as good as I thought?? This is NOT that place!! We’ve been three times now and every time is as good if not better than the last. We finally figured we could split a dinner (huge portions) and enjoy extra appetizers. Let’s start at appetizers. Fried zucchini, which I had never had before was awesome!! Lightly breaded, fresh and tasty. I’m a crab cake snob. This is Kentucky. There is NO WAY this Maryland girl trusts a crab cake in ANY OTHER state. Well after our first visit and the food being incredible, we decided let’s take a chance. Thankful we did. They were beyond delicious and just as tasty as the beach restaurants on the Eastern shore. Truth be told, these were probably better!! The salmon and chicken were cooked to perfection. And portions were so large, we easily shared and ordered an Extra side. Service is always great. Alcoholic beverages aren’t skimpy and their Bahama Mama is super fruity and refreshing. Living in TN I cannot wait for trips to Owensboro to have dinner here. I actually get excited at the idea of dinner at this amazing place!! My mouth is watering thinking about it. Awesome food, exceptional service and beyond reasonable prices for what you get. Looking forward to my next stop in. Oh and if you’re planning an evening out and decide on City Walk, call ahead and make a reservation. You won’t regret it!! Be sure to allow time to walk along the riverfront. You’ll be stuffed from the portions of these meals!! Thanks to the amazing chef at City Walk. So glad to have found this place!! I’d give it a 10 star review if I could!! Note: I put $30 to $50 because it’s easy to rack up the alcohol charges and several appetizers because they are all so yummy. You CAN eat here on a budget. It is VERY affordable. We over order because it’s that good.

This place was great! The food exceeded expectations and felt closer to white tablecloth quality than what I typically expect from a casual dining establishment. Our server was attentive but not overbearing. Prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food, in my opinion. My two nitpicky critiques: 1) The space inside is a little small so one rowdy group will make it very loud; solution is to sit outside if the weather is nice. 2) Our table was sticky and needed a proper wipe down with something more than water, probably not the norm but it was something that stuck with me (pun intended). I will definitely be back next time I am in Owensboro! There were plenty of items on the menu that I'd like to try! Keep up the great work!

I had a wonderful experience at City Walk! Their servers were so kind and wonderful conversationalist. I ordered their fried catfish, sweet potato mash, and broccoli! It all was delicious. The sweet potato mash was such a pleasant surprise! I hadn’t heard of it before, and thought it would be like mashed potatoes. Instead, it was a tasty sweet treat!! Highly recommend.

I’m from California visiting Owensboro. My wife and I were invited to have dinner at City Walk. It is my pleasure to share my thoughts, not to persuade you one way or the other, but to give my opinion. The wait staff was attentive and very familiar with the menu. The atmosphere is rugged with pictures of buildings in Owensboro. I waited in great anticipation for the meal in which I was about to eat. The menu listed the names of three professional chefs, so my expectations were high. The menu was limited with some delicious sounding dishes. After picking the entree you then select the side(s). When the waitress came to take our order, she stated what the special of the day was. It consisted of three kabobs that included beef, shrimp, bell pepper, tomato, and onion, on a bed of rice pilaf. It also came with one side. This sounded delicious so I ordered it with a side of green beans with bacon and onion. When the meal came, I was disappointed. The kabobs were overcooked, dry, and cold. The shrimp was chewy and difficult to eat. There was practically nothing left of the tomato, and the side of beans came from a can. I was totally disappointed and couldn’t finish the entree or the green beans. My wife ordered the pork chop that was supposed to come with a cinnamon sauce, which she didn’t get. On a positive note, my daughter-in-law ordered the fillet steak. She shared a bite with me. It was absolutely tremendous! It tasted great and was extremely tender. Overall I was totally unimpressed with the overcooked kabobs and especially the canned beans from professional chefs. If you give it a try, I hope your food experience will be better than mine.

City Walk is a great place to go for date night, cocktails, and even for a quick lunch. The service is great and the atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming. They easily have the best fried fish in the downtown area, and I recommend it with their tartar sauce. Speaking of the best, their Buffalo chicken sandwich is unmatched in the area. I’ve had dreams about it ever since I first had it. They also mix up a great old fashioned and a refreshing Kentucky mule!

Went to this place on a date and I was finally able to try Beef Wellington!!! Ive been wanting to try it for years and this was my first experience this was my second time coming to this restaurant. Their crab cakes app is too freaking die for. The beef wellington was taste in parts but eating it all together for me the flavors didn't meld well. But I really loved having the opportunity to finally try the dish. It did look beautiful btw. If your in Owensboro KY you need to try this place out

Great Little Downtown Spot for Steaks, Seafood and Bourbon !! The CityWalk is a nice little downtown spot near the river to have a good meal. I was walking around the area and got hungry and since I was close to CityWalk, I decided to give it a try. CityWalk markets itself as 'Steak Seafood and Bourbon' so why not !! The inside was cozy and woody with a rustic decor which made the place very comfortable and enjoyable. I started with a Kentucky Craft beer and made the decision to try their Sirloin and Shrimp which was made from certified Hereford Corn-fed Cattle and a skewer of grilled shrimp with a sweet potatoes mash and green beans. The start salad was made from fresh-cut veggies with a side of honey-mustard dressing. The Steak was cooked to a perfect medium-rare and the shrimp were a good medium size, plump and juicy. Overall a simple but great meal in a wonderful space at a reasonable cost. I recommend adding CityWalk to your dining adventures whenever you are in the Owensboro area.

Didn't live up to the hype. While visiting Owensboro, we selected this place based on the menu and the reviews. Ordered the surf and turf pasta special; the beef was colorless and overcooked. Ordered the Aloha chicken with grilled veggies, but the veggies looked suspiciously frozen. Adult beverages were ok. The crab cakes were a good appetizer. Bottom line: would most likely not eat here again.

The Brew Bridge in Owensboro is a popular spot known for its full-course brunch on weekends and locally-brewed beer selection. It's a great place to enjoy good food and great brews, with options like Ole South Barbecue's delectable brunch menu available on weekends. Additionally, it's recommended as a top choice for hosting wedding welcome parties, accommodating large groups of guests with excellent service.
Our office went there to celebrate Christmas and to play some games. The staff was great and joined in on the fun, while taking care of all of her customers. The service was exceptional and everything we ordered was good. I liked the atmosphere too!

The barbecue brisket sandwich was delicious along with a side of sweet potato fries. And the Mac and cheese with the sandwich, smoked turkey with all the trimmings very tasty.. and Shelley the waitress was terrific and helping us get our IPA beers and food

Solid food and beer. Good atmosphere and game selection. We weren't blown away with our experience here but it was still pretty solid. If I lived in the area I'd probably come here quite a bit. For driving through, there may be some better bbq joints, but still, it was good. Nice atmosphere and quality service. The beans were awesome. The smoked brisket was reasonably priced but not hall of fame worthy.

Best beers in town! The brewer nails every style and makes some of the best lagers in the state. The staff is always friendly and the food is solid as well. Bottoms up!! 🍻

Love this place! I visit weekly as a local and always enjoy their selection of drinks and food. They brew all of their own beer in-house and even my pickier craft beer friends love the brews! Such good vibes and atmosphere, especially in the beer garden. Always love meeting up with friends for a chill hang or game night with a few drinks. I’d highly recommend trying their tacos, nachos, smash burger, and BBQ mac!

Niko's Bakery & Cafe is a delightful gem in Owensboro, perfect for anyone craving a taste of Europe. This charming establishment offers an impressive array of breakfast sandwiches, freshly baked bread, and mouthwatering homemade pastries that will tantalize your taste buds. Since its opening in February 2019 by the Nousiadis family and later taken over by chef Matt and Jessica Weafer in early 2020, Niko's has maintained its commitment to quality and flavor.
Man!!!! The Blueberry lemon scone was amazeballs!! The drip coffee is also fabulous and I was at first sad because their espresso machine was down for the day. Didn’t need it cause their medium roast drip coffee was stout and smooth. Will be coming back many many many times. Love the local art too!

I wouldn't recommend visiting Owensboro if you don't take time to come to Niko's Bakery. Can you hear the crunch of this crispy crossaint? It's positively heavenly. 😇
Sara F — Google review
I genuinely hope the owners see this and change something because it was AWFUL. Went here with my mom, we got 2 cold brews, 2 macarons, some lemon ball thing, yogurt with fruit and granola, and a big chocolate chip cookie. It was almost 50 dollars. Which would be fine if it wasn’t for how bad it all tasted. 1. The cold brews. They were in extremely tiny cups for being 5 dollars and had like little grainy stuff in it that tasted awful. My mom got the snickerdoodle one and it tasted like dirt with a little vanilla LOL. I got the pumpkin spice and it tasted like NOTHING but grainy milk mixed with water. Both got thrown away. 2. The macarons. They were dreamcicle flavored, very flat, not much filling. Which was alright, but the taste. Oh god. Was SO STRONG. I took a tiny bite of one and I was OVERWHELMED. SO BADDD. I was coughing and very shocked. When you take a tiny piece, it’s good!! But very wet and mushy.. 3. The lemon ball?? It was a very small little ball of something? like some kind of bread or cookie? Rolled in sugar, which was falling off. It was very crumbly, and had no flavor besides bread? Like straight up FLOUR. I assumed there would be filling? To make them idk lemon? Like it said. No. Dry all the way through. 4. The yogurt. Oh god. Awful. I didn’t think it could be messed up, but it was. It looked good!! Smelled yummy. I take a bite of just the fruit and it’s a bit mushy but that’s fine so I just get some yogurt and it’s… weird. Like a mix of fancy bitter Greek yogurt and cottage cheese.. leaves ur mouth feeling dry. Extremely bitter I couldn’t eat any more. So I just tried to eat the granola on its own. They smell good and it’s toasted. And It just tastes like burnt walnut. All of it was burnt. Very hard and dry, like abnormally hard for granola. 5. The cookie. It was so big and the chocolate looked melty, so I was excited!! Tried to take a bit and the edge was a bit hard. But hey! That happens so I ignored it and just tried to eat the middle, but it tasted like straight up sugar. No flavor besides the strongest chocolate in the entire world and sugar. But some people might like that kinda thing! If you’re okay with it falling apart after one bite. THE SERVICE: There were 2 teenage girls working the counter who were just talking and giggling for a while, which isn’t a big deal but when I finally got my order taken I had to repeat it like 5 times because she kept talking to her friend in between.. I ignored that and then they said “do u want milk?” And my mom was confused because she doesn’t go to cafes and says, “oh yeah if it comes like that” and the worker laughed and then we were charged for milk, after asking for it how it comes. Then we still tipped 6 dollars and went to wait for our food. After about 15 minutes we get our drinks. They’re gross so my mom tosses hers and I ask if they could put more flavoring in it because it was flavorless, I asked extremely nicely. (I can’t be mean to workers even if the foods bad) and she said of course! So I waited. About 5 minutes. Then she gave me it back. Says she put it in a bigger cup for me and I say thank you and sit down. I drink it… it’s the exact same. The only difference is the ice is mostly melted now. So I throw mine out. Then we wait: and wait. For 15 more minutes. And we see the people who got here after us get their sandwiches which is a little odd. Then we wait for 5 more and finally she walks up to me, no smile on her face and no eye contact. And hands me a brown bag. I said “thank you so much have a good day” and she just walks away and says nothing? Very rude 🥲

Very high quality baked goods!! I lived and traveled in Europe for many years and it's difficult to get similar quality breads and pastries in the US. I'm struggling to remember if I've had better anywhere in the US actually, who would have thought. The seeded (real, i.e. slow fermentation) sourdough loaf and the chocolate croissant are my favs, but I suspect you can't go wrong. Desserts look yummy but i haven't tried them yet. Many great vegetarian options also, especially the halloumi salad, which can be hard to find in this part of the world. Long wait is the only downside. Owensboro is very lucky to have this place!!!!!

Picking up pastries for work friday and found this hidden gem in Owensboro! Service was very friendly. They helped navigate me on picking out pastries and my latte. I ended up ordering the cinnamon roll, chocolate croissant, blueberry lemon danish. (which I forgot to take pictures of SMH) and an iced blueberry muffin latte. They also had fresh lil’ bouquets for pick up which I thought was adorable! Will be back to try other items on the menu, along with other lattes!

this is my first visit to this place, and I have to say they have not disappointed at all. I went with the avocado BLT. I had narrow the search down to three different sandwiches, but I thought I’m just gonna go for it. The bread has some sort of butter on it that just melts in your mouth. The avocado is smashed perfectly and the bacon taste amazing. I did order the potato salad but unfortunately they were out I went with the salt and vinegar chip, which is always a win. I also ordered some chicken salad to go just to try that. I have been told nothing but great things and I understand why. We did try the macaroon. It was a good flavor, bacon, and hot honey! How can you go wrong with that? I cannot wait to come back and try something new. This place will definitely be in the rotation!

Niko's is one of the best bakeries in the world...at least the places I have been. The food, the service, the ambience are impeccable. This time, my husband had a breakfast sandwich, and I had a cinnamon cluster and scone. In addition, I took home a chocolate croissant and had it the next day. It was still as delicious as I thought it would be.

This is where I love to walk in the evenings.Set out of the way, so not a whole lot of traffic except for ball games. Has been updated since I was here a few years ago with the additions of a playground and a netted batting cage. I actually walk part of the Greenbelt trail, and I enjoy not many people out there when I walk. I love the area I walk with lots of trees, and being able to slow down and connect with nature.
Marie B — Google review
Very nice paved walking path. Not extremely long but long enough to be a nice walk for the dogs. No trashcan on the far sides of the trail incase your dog goes potty and you have to pick it up. The entire trail is flat and smooth making it nice for wheelchairs or hoverounds. All in all a very nice park with good parking, bathrooms, and a close proximity to town.

Always an enjoyable day to spend time here taking in the scenery, my family has many memories here of getting together to fish, or have picnics, or walk the trails, play in the fields, even feed the little ducks, it's been a great pleasure for all, and continues to be!
Summer ( — Google review
Considering the location limitations,, this is a great park! Located just outside the city off W. 5th St., it is easy to find and typically never crowded. Even on day's it plays host to ball tournaments, the opposite end of the park remains quiet and peaceful. Jack C. Fischer has everything you could want inside a park: unique playground equipment, short, paved hiking trails that join the longer Owensboro Greenbelt, 2 ball diamonds with concessions, batting practice cages, numerous movable picnic tables, a covered picnic shelter, tons of shade trees, 2 small but pretty lakes with a bridge crossing, fishing allowances and plenty of grassy, open space. The only thing it really lacks are small grills for picnic cooking and concessions/vending machines outside of the fenced ball diamonds area of the park, which is closed on days there is no ball being played.

Love this place! Its always family friendly with an open forested feel, lots of rolling hills. It's got a big parking lot which I've helped teach nieces and nephews to drive in. Its got a large playground and several picnic tables that are spaced out throughout the park and more picnic tables under a large pavilion up front. Would make a good area for family reunions or get togethers. It also has the start to one if my favorite backroad drives, and has a racetrack for soapbox cars. Went to see the play "Well" on Sunday, & it was just wonderful. This was my very first time there & it did not disappoint. The building is this wonderful historic church, small, dark, & inviting. The play was wonderful & the cast did such an amazing job. This is a little gem in this area, & if you can catch a performance of any show it will be well worth it. It was such a treat to have this be my first show.

TWO is housed within a very old Episcopalian cathedral - beautiful architecture and decor. Lately, the church seems to be used more as a gathering place for weekly/monthly events and for play practice, as the company recently purchased a local theater for productions. Escape Today Owensboro has evolved significantly over the past five years, expanding from a modest 1,000-square-foot space with just one escape room to a sprawling 7,000-square-foot entertainment hub. The latest addition to their collection is the Harry Potter: The Last Remnant escape adventure game. With multiple themed escape rooms of varying difficulty levels and scare factors, this destination has attracted over 200,000 visitors.
Always a fun time. Grab drinks at the bar next door and throw axes, or try to figure out an escape room after two old fashioneds as a real trial. Staff is always cool and friendly. Tons of old video games. My only wish is they had a Big Buck Hunter game.
Jarred G — Google review
Absolutely nowhere else like it in Owensboro, or (I dare say) the tristate, that can match this old-school vibe. You can tell that there was thought and care put into this place. I was told the arcade machines alone (and there are a LOT) took years to accumulate for the business. They also have ax throwing and (obviously) escape rooms that are well kept and managed. Plus the guys are hot. I found, and smooched my future husband right by the pinball machine.
Paige O — Google review
The experience was great, but for the price its not worth it.They did let us have a n extra 30 minutes. We purchased first hour for $60 the got 20% on second hour.We were a party of 6 but tbh the max is 10 but you throw an hour away getting things together and set up so for the 6 of us we were only able to do 2 songs so we just did duets and groups so we all got a turn. The Bahama mamas were so delicious, I would go back but make sure first to already be reserved, drunk and ready to sing .
Latia M — Google review
Super fun and really gets your rusty gears turning!! It's also a wonderful way to go back in time with their huge arcade selection!! I didn't do the axe throwing, but you can do that, too. Also, the bar next door, Brewbridge, you can take you meal and bring it in with you!! This place is top shelf!!
Brittney C — Google review
It was so much fun and a great experience. Pur 1st time throwing axes and we will return. Video games i remember as a kid, it was a nice flashback.
Michelle — Google review
In the Harry Potter-themed escape room we participated in, the emphasis seemed to be more on meticulously searching every nook and cranny of the room rather than tackling intricate puzzles. While there were a few puzzles scattered throughout, they failed to effectively connect or lead us into the next phase of the adventure. With clearer and more intuitive clues, the progression from one part of the room to the next could have been more seamless and engaging. In addition to the lack of challenging puzzles, we encountered technical issues such as malfunctioning locks, which detracted from the overall experience. Furthermore, the low-quality decorations in the room made it difficult to spot important clues, adding frustration to the gameplay. A more polished presentation with functional locks and clearer visual cues could have significantly enhanced our enjoyment of the escape room adventure. Regrettably, despite our anticipation, the overall value of the experience didn't quite match the price point. At $100 for a group of four, and perhaps not even worth half that amount, we felt a bit disappointed by the return on our investment. We may return for the arcade but not the escape room.
William R — Google review
Don't waste time or money on escape room. No wonder the place was empty, this place was a joke and I have definately seen better arcades for the price.
Aaa A — Google review
We particularly enjoy the arcade, and the staff is good at leaving us alone about time restraints. I just wish they would take a page from Secret Headquarters in Evansville and keep their machines in good working order. Many of them just seem to stay in a constant state of disrepair. From my perspective it just looks bad on the ownership. The entire facility, including the restrooms seem pretty clean and organized (other than some of the arcade machines that need to be dusted. I’ve noticed cobwebs on my last trip). All in all, we like the place enough to keep returning, but there’s so much more arcade potential there with plenty of room. If there were more working machines, and more machines in general, we’d definitely make more trips! Are you listening, guys??

Can I give 10 stars?!? This place was STELLAR! We visited the area for a few days and ate here twice during our stay. The hand tossed dough was fantastic. All of the toppings were fresh and the roasted tomatoes we had on one pie were grown in the owners home garden. They sever locally made ice cream also that was beyond delicious. The restaurant was casual and the bathrooms were clean and decorated beautifully. If you are in downtown Owensboro. Treat yourself to Fetta. The owner was really cool! We cant wait to come back!

Located a block away from Smothers Park, Fetta is where you need to go for pizza. No disrespect to Mellow Mushroom, but was very happy to support a local spot & it was fantastic! With close to 30 unique pizzas, we had trouble narrowing our choice down became so many options sounded great. We ultimately went with the Firecracker pizza, which was a delicious blend of spice from sriracha & pickled jalapeños, with a little sweetness from hot honey. Our server was friendly & made sure we were taken care of at all times. The garlic knots & house salad were also solid additions to our lunch. Overall, a very clean, inviting space serving up some of the best specialty pizza I’ve come across in a minute. 10/10 recommend ✌🏻

An Owensboro staple!! You ain’t from here if you ain’t ever had the mashed potato pizza!! So good and service is always great!! ❤️

The enticingly new age and local hotspot feel of the atmosphere in this restaurant is everything you want in a local pizza parlor to make it feel like your pizza place back home simply had a menu change to keep the love alive. If the wide variety of craft beer isn’t enough to draw your attention, their vast selection of experimental pizzas should be. With one of the sweetest recipes of hot honey I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing, it was difficult to order only one or two slices. Their lions mane mushroom pizza is an amazing vegan choice as well for those of you who aren’t fond of the ideas of animals on your pizza. Count your blessings and add one more if you get a server as attentive and ready to make this a one of a kind dining experience as Jordan had made mine. I admittedly had to get a second slice of the hot honey and sausage pizza. Very well done, everybody 👏 10/10 recommend.

I can't say enough about our service here. We had a party of 15 they were able to accommodate us immediately even though they were extremely busy with in person customers & to go orders. We had just left a pizza place that we had a reservation at that had not seated us (but 2 other lg parties that had reservations after ours) after us arriving b4 our reservation and it was 45 minutes past our reservation and the manager of that establishment was rude & unaccomidating. My husband is a bit picky but said he really liked the pizza & service we received. Thank you Fetta staff you are awesome.

Rolling Pin Pastry Shop, located in Owensboro, KY, has been a local favorite since 1947. Voted as the city's best bakery in 2015, this family-owned pastry shop is renowned for its delicious and fresh donuts. The owners, Roger and Kathy Farmer, have continued the tradition of producing mouthwatering pastries for three generations. Visitors rave about the fluffy texture and delectable icing of their donuts.
Best donuts & selection is top notch! I’m a donut snob, chocolate icing on the long John’s is incredible! The fluffy glaze & glaze twist with the icing is fluffy and tasty! Very few donut places hold a place in my heart and belly! They have cookies, cinnamon rolls, don’t holes, holiday selection and flavors on donuts and cookies as well! $15.75 for a mixed assorted dozen!
Taylor 3 — Google review
On my way from KY to EVV I wanted to pick up a few dozen donuts for coworkers and Rolling Pin popped up as highly rated so I swung by. It’s a small shop but you can see in the back how many supplies they have piled up which tells you they along a lot of donuts through this place- and it’s no wonder why- they’re delicious. If you want sugar-laden fried and glazed fakeness- not the right place for you. These are baked with care and topped with actual shop-made glazed and spreads, and fillings. The result is a real pastry that tastes familiar but different- and in a good way. Much more homemade than commercialized. I’d highly recommend at least trying them to see if it’s your new style or not. Great place overall and saw a branded truck so they likely cater.

Nestled along the scenic riverfront in Owensboro, KY, Lure Seafood & Grille is a delightful dining destination that captures the essence of casual elegance. With its impressive soaring ceilings and inviting atmosphere, this restaurant specializes in an array of seafood dishes while also offering pasta, burgers, and refreshing cocktails. Fresh ingredients are delivered daily to ensure every meal bursts with flavor.
We ate there three times in two days. The pork chop my hubby said was off the chain, the tenderloin and lobster dish was delicious, the oysters were also excellent. I had the Chilean sea bass and my hubby also had the ribeye with truffle fries those fries were so good. The cocktails were amazing and the service was perfect.
N B — Google review
The hostess was friendly. The service was rather slow due to the most of the staff waiting on a table of two and catering to their needs. Once my server came over he took my drink order and food order. Over all he gave great service. The food was amazing, the drinks unique and flavor and the dessert are very good. This is my second visit to Lure and it comes highly recommended.
Stacy B — Google review
Their Portuguese-American fusion menu is truly special — each dish is thoughtfully prepared, beautifully seasoned, and full of character you don’t often find in mid-America. This is not just another seafood spot; it’s a culinary adventure that showcases bold flavors and creativity. It’s absolutely worth going out of your way to try. If you find yourself anywhere near the Ohio River, make sure to put Lure at the top of your list. A must-visit!
Al M — Google review
Gorgeous location. It isn't being utilized well by the restaurant. The restaurant looks worn out. It isn't being kept up properly. Lighting fixtures need cleaning. Plastic grass as decoration is a poor choice. I had lunch, and my review is strictly based on lunch. Caesar salad was horrible. It is an abomination to Ceasar salad. Dressing is not Caesar, pre-shredded cheese is used, and the extremely poor quality of what seems to be Parmigiano is beyond disappointing. Not a hint of anchovies, no sign that olive oil was used, or lemon. I could go on.... but those who know that this is terrible cuisine, KNOW. Lure Burger was okay. I dislike Brioche, so that may be the reason I couldn't adequately rate the burger. They don't know how to serve coffee and have a lack of etiquette in this area. But we aren't in Europe, so I adjusted my norm. Surprisingly, I liked the coffee even though it was NOT fresh. Sadly, they would not re-fill it for me. For $100.00, I expect a much better quality of ingredients and another helping of coffee, somewhat properly served. The desert was palatable. The way it was served is less than appropriate. Wooden, WORN out chopping board????? Eekk! What are we? Pigs? My pigs eat off of boards such as these. Whipped cream is NOT whipped-cream.🤦🏼‍♀️ If the owner(s) doesn't realize they are serving poor quality food, they need a reality check. Gordon Ramsay, soon?

Food was cold and the garnishes on the mushrooms were wilted. Bad presentation and then unappetizing. The bacon jam had great flavor - the scallops had no flavor and were tough.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars if possible. I’m a TX girly living in FL in KY for work. My counterpart in KY said she “came for work and stayed for pleasure”. Service impeccable. Food, I wish I had a bigger stomach. Atmosphere, live music but not crazy loud- yes please! And for those of you looking for the bar menu- fantastic. Non alcoholic options bar none! For those looking for alcohol I’d recommend the old fashion and the mason doubles. For the record you can eat on a budget- we did not. Appetizers- crab cake- you’re missing out if you don’t get it. One of us got a $20 pasta and the other got a $60 steak. BOTH are slap your momma worthy. Hands down—eat here. Also we opted for outdoor seating with live music. I won’t sugar coat it for you if you want quiet, opt for the indoor seating. This TX/FL girl wanted something other than Dante’s inferno heat and opted for outdoor seating in August at 78 degrees.

Famous Bistro is a beloved casual eatery that offers a blend of Mediterranean and American cuisine in a charming setting. Whether you choose to dine indoors amidst warm decor or opt for the sidewalk patio with prime people-watching opportunities, the restaurant promises generous portions and attentive service. The Greek influence is evident in both the artwork and menu, featuring classic Greek dishes alongside deli-style soups and sandwiches.

This restaurant was an outstanding find using Google Maps. It is a bit upscale but still casual. The food was excellent. You may not have to have a reservation but it is a good idea. We were seated without one, but they cautioned us that it is unusual. The service was excellent. The entire place is kept very clean and tidy. There is plenty of free parking in the area along city streets and parking garages and most is free.

Literally the best food I've had the pleasure of eating. Large portions will leave you stuffed, but the food itself will have you dreaming about it until your next visit here. The steak was to die for!
Adam R — Google review
I've been here twice before. Sat outside once and had salad. Not bad, nothing special. Big dinner party the second time, the restaurant treated us like royalty. Very impressive. That's why I suggested it this time. The restaurant was filled to capacity and I felt like I had to yell to be heard. I missed almost half of the dinner conversation because the place was so noisy. The photo on the right is pesto sauce, made with basil. The photo on the left is the dish they served me and said it was a sun dried tomato pesto over penne pasta. If the description had said it was a red tomato sauce, I wouldn't have bothered to try it.
Hank R — Google review
4 of us ordered different dishes and all agreed it was very good. My only problem was the prices on some of the menu items were way out of line. $55 for 4 large Scallops might sit OK in NYC but not in Owensboro, KY, the heart of rural Bourbon country. Also, the service staff needs a little more training. You don't walk over to a patron about to put a fork in her mouth and say can I take your plate. The obvious answer is no fool can't you see i am still eating.
Donald C — Google review
Our first visit to Famous Bistro was long awaited, and they delivered on being an amazing place to get some high quality Mediterranean-style food. We opted for a seafood centered experience, but the ribeye and the lamb shank looked delicious. I’ll be back for those. We started off with the crab cakes, and I don’t hesitate to say they were the best I’ve had anywhere in the region. I had the swordfish with broccolini, and they served it with a spicy chili oil sauce that complimented it very nicely. My lady had the salmon dijonaise with roasted Brussels sprouts and potatoes. It was amazing. Try your best to save room for dessert. They’re all house made. We opted for the tiramisu, and it was absolutely heavenly. We can’t wait to come back for another experience at Famous Bistro!

We came here for our 10yr anniversary we had the crab cakes to start. I highly recommend you try them sweet and savory not salty or fishy but clean. My wife had the bourbon chicken plate the chicken was moist and tender everything else in her plate was seasoned to perfection. I had the steak gorganzola it was deliciously savory and creamy with a lil touch of pleasant funk the gorganzola and a zestyness from the dried tomatoes. aside from my steak not being medium rare like i had asked it was still tender and very well seasoned i would definitely recommend this dish. I had brought up that my steak was overcooked and she offered dessert to make up for it. Wasn't a huge deal since my dish was very tasty but whos gonna turn down free dessert come on! We had the tierramassu it was nice not too sweet and the espresso soaked cake was great.. Our server was a star she made sure our cups were full even with it being dinner rush. Our over all experience here was great. We will be back again!!! Thank you guys!!!

Steak house
Restaurant
Briarpatch is a well-established American steak and seafood restaurant located in Owensboro. Since 1971, it has been a go-to spot for great steaks served in a charming atmosphere. The restaurant is also renowned for its fresh soup and salad bar, which is prepared daily with bread brought directly to the table. Visitors praise the filet and shrimp dish as being cooked to perfection. The house-made strawberry butter adds an extra touch of flavor to the dining experience.
We enjoy trying new restaurants and Briarpatch was recommended by a friend of my husband’s. The friend recommended their steaks and my husband was in the mood for a steak. We arrived at Briarpatch and as we entered the breezeway, there was a picture on the wall of a Tomahawk Pork Chop. It looked mouthwatering and needless to say my husband’s desire for steak left quickly lol I am generally not a steak girl, but I noticed a Filet and Shrimp combo. Our server, Jordan said it is her favorite. Enough said. I ordered Filet and Shrimp and my husband ordered the Tomahawk Pork Chop. That Tomahawk Pork Chop was cooked and seasoned to perfection 🧑‍🍳 💋 So tender, juicy and delicious! My 6oz Filet, even though cooked more med than med rare, as I requested, was still very delicious. It was juicy, tender, flavorful and delicious 🧑‍🍳 💋 We were both very pleased with our choice. The main reason I wanted to go is “The Salad Bar” it most certainly did not disappoint. So many items to choose from and everything was fresh. So so good! A bonus is, the All You Can Eat Salad Bar comes with your entree 🤗 We also decided to try dessert. We chose the Caramel Brownie Cheesecake. Even though it is not made in house, it was very good! When we arrived we were greeted with smiles and kindness. Jordan, our server was amazing. Crystal, one of the managers was helping on the floor and taking great care of customers as well. Bethany, another manager was also very kind and helpful. Needless to say, we had a wonderful experience and highly recommend Briarpatch! Charlie and Kimberly (YT) ~Haires Last Resort Adventures

Service was great, restaurant itself was definitely older and dimly lit. While low light can be nice, it wasn’t in this setting. I ordered the 20oz honor brigade ribeye and for the price I was disappointed. I’ve had much better ribeyes for much less than $70+. It wasn’t bad by any means but not what i expected from that price. Salad bar was great though along with the strawberry butter and bread!

You will really want to try this restaurant. It is very popular with local folks, especially on special occasions. The service here is outstanding. The servers are very friendly, professional, and prompt with refills. The food is delicious and cooked perfectly to order. The restaurant is kept very clean. It is easy to find using Google Maps. There is plenty of free parking.

The salad bar id varied, 2 sided the steak was ordered medium rare. Served tepid. Flavorful, the rice pilaf is VERY bland. The strawberry butter is unique.

Excellent food and service! The salad bar is wonderful. A lot of items to choose from, all fresh ingredients. The warm bread with strawberry butter was amazing. We usually get the steak tips, which are always tender and delicious. This place is one of Owensboro’s finest! Highly recommend!

Our first time eating here after hearing good things about Briarpatch for years. We were not disappointed. Arrived a little before 4pm and had a short wait to be seated. Quick service for our drink orders and bread with some great strawberry butter. Large salad bar with lots of choices, everything was fresh. I had the ribeye which was cooked perfectly. Best steak I've had in a long time. Will probably just have the salad bar on our next visit to sample everything they have to offer.
Chris C — Google review
My wife and I went here on my 65th birthday with two other couples. Service was subpar and the food was even worse. Two of the six meals had to be sent back they were so bad. The Maui Maui I had was so salty that I couldn't eat it. After they brought me another without the extra salt, it tasted so processed that I couldn't eat it as well. This is nothing new, since COVID the quality of the food and service in most restaurants these days is very subpar. We're gonna try Callas next Friday to see if this "upscale" restaurant is any better. I'll keep you updated.

Nice restaurant, low light setting for date night and chill environment. Soup and salad bar included with entree. Hoppin John soup is the best, rice, beans and sausage! Bread loaf and strawberry spread is delicious! Wish they still had the cinnamon butter for the bread! Picture shows broccoli cheddar soup and hoppin John! Beef tips and rice, bourbon glazed salmon, California vegetables. Bread and strawberry butter.

Absolutely horrible. It's always been basic rather than extra good. Now it's a traumatic experience. First I was served a SHREDDED LETTUCE SALAD. Weirdest way I've ever had a salad. Stringy LETTUCE hanging out with every bite. After being sat for 50 min. Our food came out. COLD, very thinly sliced, cheep deli roast beef. Cold instant mashed potatoes covered in cold dollar store instant gravy. Save your money. Go to any deli for better quality. The service was awful, too. The waitress asked if we wanted to order. We say yes, and she walked off. Came back 5 or so minutes later to actually take the order. Then we were served garbage after a very long wait. Don't do it don't do it don't do it

Diner vibe totally! Nothing fancy but it was packed. The town locals filled the tables and they were kind and welcoming to the "not regulars" like us! 5 Stars – A Must-Visit in Owensboro! We were in Owensboro for work and decided to stop in at Dee’s Diner for lunch—what a great decision! The country fried steak was absolutely outstanding, and the meatloaf was honestly one of the best we’ve ever had. The restaurant provides a warm and inviting ambiance with dim lighting and candlelit tables. Visitors praise the friendly and attentive service as well as the ample drink options, including Cold Heinekens.
On Memorial Day the Bar Louie was about the only place open downtown. Neither of us had been to one so we gave it a try. Nicely designed interior. The lunch specials were very reasonable. We split a chicken quesadilla order and had the peach tea. It was very good. We'll be back again.

I stumbled upon this place unintentionally as an out of towner. As someone who goes to wine parlor and wine bar with sommelier presence in big cities, I honestly did not have high expectations. But the decor, ambience and two great bartenders, Carly and Gabby, completely changed my perspective and made me wants to definitely go back to this bar for drinks and five stars services from its bar tender!!! If you don’t go there when you are in Owensboro, you are missing out. 😂

5 stars to this one!! I love my experience here everytime I go! I love to start or end date nights here because of the music, fun card games, and tasty drinks. I got the house Sangria and it was DELICIOUS! Another time I came during the day and got a wine slushy which is also highly recommended. Large Spaces or Smaller tables for a big group or small group. You do have to go ask the bartenders how the process works if you're wanting to try the machines! Regan is the best bartender if you get a cute strawberry blonde girlie serving you for the night. I also have hosted a couple of events here which was more than easy. One of my events was on the patio and inside and was executed perfectly with extremely little thought. I will be back to SIP a million times over!!!

We were in a couple weekends ago and I had been looking forward to going for a while. We finally made it in and we were a bit under impressed. The selection was not very good for a sweet wine drinker or a dry. We tried almost everything available that evening. There was also only 4 other people that had already been helped in the bar and we were not greeted in anyway. After sitting for about 10 minutes, we walked up to the bar to ask how it all worked. The concept is awesome and I’d love to come more but don’t feel this was executed well and needs some time to become something yet.
R M — Google review
Let first start off by saying that the atmosphere and decor of this little shop is so cute. However, I came in prepared to drink and order food but was promptly told that I could not have my toddler inside (despite her sleeping in her stroller). I was instead told I could sit outside on the patio in 98 degree heat with no umbrellas. I asked why and was told it was "store policy". No where did it state this "policy" and I think it should have been stated clearly somewhere on the door. Regardless to say, I only gave them 2 starts for the decor and location. This really could have been a 5 star review otherwise. ETA: there was NO sign that said 21 and up. Now I wish I would have taken a picture of the door since they want to lie in their reply.

Man, this was a great environment! A definite revisit is in order. They have lots of wine of taste and a complete bar in addition to the wine tasting. My husband and his friend had craft beers while my friend and I tried about 6 different wines. The price was pretty reasonable as well. The environment was my favorite part... You just need to go and discover it for yourself.

Purchased some nice pieces for awesome price. The lady operating the shop was so nice and helpful. Clean and organized which is a must for me.
Barbara P — Google review
An interesting place to look around. It's smaller and more expensive than most Antique Malls I've been to before. The lady at the register was friendly. The older lady walking around that works there has a rude and ignorant way about herself. Someone her age should know better.
The M — Google review
Oh, when I got there they were not open until the following Monday, but there door was unlocked and got to see some of the stuff that was inside. October 20 2023 is there opening of the business. I seen that they had very nice new looking and high end furniture for sale. So if you’re looking for higher end furniture, go check them out.

Misty Meadow Winery is a serene and cozy establishment located in the flatlands of Western Kentucky, Davies County. It sits on a family farm dating back to 1901 and specializes in producing country wines from locally grown fresh fruit, berries, and grapes. The winery offers tours of its bottling facilities and supplies local bars with their various Toad Wines. Visitors have praised the friendly owners, delicious fruit wines, and the adjacent wood shop for a well-rounded experience.
Nice winery. Wines are very good, owner is knowledgeable and friendly. The furniture store is well worth checking out too
Melinda M — Google review
I bought a bottle of their blackberry wine at the farmer's market last summer - it is WITHOUT A DOUBT the best wine I've ever had. Gone so quickly! The sellers were extremely kind and friendly and offered to let me taste any of the wines, but I knew the second I tasted the blackberry that it was meant to be.
Loch M — Google review
This winery has been an absolute joy to have in the community. They offer spectacular tours of their bottling facilities to the public, and supply local bars and retail outlets with their various Toad Wines. I would certainly recommend this facility as well as their local vintage product to any local connoisseurs.
Noland A — Google review
Common theme seems to be that they're open when they want to be. Seems like the owner must be a hobby wine maker who wants to run a shop in their terms and time, which is fine. But don't expect customers to make the drive, only to find a closed sign on the door. Won't make that mistake again. Plenty of places to buy wine.
Jess E — Google review
Great fruit wine with very friendly owner. Good place for friendly conversation, good wine plus a wood shop with plenty for all to enjoy
Melissa A — Google review
Great place and very good wine. Made with fresh fruit not from concentrate. Highly recommended.

Quick place to stop to use your phone, eat your breakfast or lunch. I stop there just before going to my aunt's place and eat and feed birds and squirrels with food I didn't eat from BK
James B — Google review
This place is pretty much always empty. There aren't any tables or benches to enjoy the out doors. The walking path was pretty much what I liked. This place has plenty of room for t ball and is located in a quiet neighbor hood.

Very long walk to the restrooms from the ball field. Very nice ball field 😎🇺🇸

The shade was exactly what I needed. There was lots of it, with the coolest breeze on the hottest day. An oasis in the city.

Ice skating rink
Edge Ice Center is a top-notch ice rink located in Owensboro, Kentucky. It's one of only four ice rinks in the state and was built in 2009 to replace the original Owensboro Ice Arena. The facility offers a fantastic experience for families, with amenities such as concessions, skate rentals, and seating areas for spectators. For beginners, there are aids available to make learning to skate easier.
Very nice well maintained rink with a good snack bar staffed with friendly people.
Anthony S — Google review
Ice rink and facilities fantastic. Concessions reasonably priced but DO NOT order pizza of any sort, slice, person al, or entire pizza. Wait time for a pizza order is at least 30 minutes......they serve party rooms first and the concession customers just have to wait it out. Other than that it is a beautiful place. Love the skate aids other than the kids playing bumper cars with them and the skate police that don't do anything about the rough housing.
Laura F — Google review
Staff stepped on my foot with a skate and it made my skin tear off and start bleeding. the staff did not even say sorry or anything they don't care about customers. They give u bad looks and are rude. DONT RECOMMAND
Jagger M — Google review
They should really have adults during every shift of operating hours. The teenagers are not great at the window or concessions. Was behind a woman trying to order food and she could not get anything because there was not anything made or as the red head worker stated she wasn't making it
Kristie M — Google review
Fun party! Hot dogs, pizza, pop corn, soda. Skate passes, Tshirt, pencils given as gifts.

Restaurant
Bill's Restaurant is a charming, independently owned establishment that offers seasonal New American cuisine in a cozy and intimate setting. The menu is intentionally small to ensure the use of fresh and unique ingredients, with specific dishes reflecting the chef's current stock. Guests rave about the perfectly cooked New York Strip and commend the attentive yet unobtrusive wait staff. The restaurant prides itself on its ever-changing menus, ensuring that each visit brings new culinary experiences.
Bill's Restaurant is the BEST place to eat in Owensboro hands down. From his amazing menus prepared new daily with new ideas and experiences for the pallet. His staff is amazing, they have knowledge of every dish being prepared and keep in mind this changes daily. They have knowledge of wines and pairings , beers and mixed drinks alike. Friendly and full of energy they work hard to bring fine a dining experience and never fails to do so. They have high standards in quality of sustainable foods and local in season delectables that never disappoint. We have eaten there for a few years and time after time this is where we want to go experience amazing fine dining and spend our hard working dollars. With all that said I have never eaten the same thing twice for dinner at Bill's, and that's because of his amazing knowledge and love of what he conjures in the kitchen. I personally want to thank Bill and all his wonderful staff that bring this to our town if Owensboro. Cheers🍻
Dani A — Google review
Bill's was an absolutely fantastic experience. The restaurant is small with just enough seating. The menu is also small: specific dishes on the menu for what the chef has in stock. This also means that the dishes are fresh, unique, and most importantly delicious! I had the New York Strip; it was cooked an absolutely perfect medium-rare. Every single bit was cooked the same. The mashed potatoes, vegetable sides, and sauce were perfect. In addition, the wait staff was attentive but not imposing. When we had a need, they ensured we were taken care of, but they did not hover. The drinks were prepared as ordered, and the cocktails we're not watered down. The only complaint would be that when the restaurant is full, it got a bit loud. The acoustics may be the only thing wrong with the entire meal - and quite frankly, the food, service, and drinks were well worth having to speak up with company.
Peter B — Google review
Atmosphere was fantastic. Food was excellent. Had crab cakes for an appetizer. For entree the Tasmainian salmon stuffed with crab served with green beans, and mashed potatoes was amazing. Will be going back specifically for this dish.

Interesting items on the menu. We loved everything we ordered. The roasted Brussel sprouts were tasty!! You do need reservations. Great place off the beaten track. I don't know how many times I've driven past it and never saw it! My friend from Henderson had been there and recommended it. Excellent!
Gail B — Google review
First time at Bill's this weekend. We visited with a party of 5. We had reservations and we were immediately seated. The service was very good, the waitstaff was knowledgeable and friendly. We had the Grit balls of fire appetizer and it was excellent. Between the 5 of us we ordered 4 distinct entrees. The consensus among our entire group was that the food was good, but not great. I think the Tomahawk porkchop was probably the dish that was least liked. If was a bit fatty and underdone. I realize now that we should have brought this to our waitress's attention, so I am not including that entree as part of my review. Overall it was an enjoyable dining experience.

A REAL antique store with a multitude of antique and vintage items - glass, metal, radios and hardware, furniture, etc. at modest prices. We got, for instance, a pie pan for 1 dollar!!!
Eduard H — Google review
Stopped by and oh my my! Such a selection from floor to ceiling, oh what a great feeling!! Do you collect soda stuff, they got more than you would ever guess! Do you collect gas memorabilia, yep you already know! Toys, furniture, coolers, hardware, fishing lures, vending machines, signs for days & days, more display cabinets than you could imagine, and so much more!! Out of the hundreds & hundreds of flea markets, antique stores, junk fairs, ect I have visited over the last 40+ years... this place is definitely in my Top 5 favorites! Such variety, quality, and assortment that literally fills every inch of the place!! As many others have said, cash or check only (you know it is a special kind of old school place when they still take checks!). The guys working in the shop are very welcoming, professional, and helpful. This is one of those places that you just don't see anymore and is a real treasure!! Big high five to the owners for operating such a great shop and kudos for all the hard work it takes to keep the place stocked!! 👏👏👏

VERY cool antique shop. There is a ton of really cool furniture and an abundance of tools. The shop owners are very nice and helpful. Prices are great for the quality of goods available. I hate that every time I visit this store, I don't have the room in my car to take any furniture home! One of these days I will get my dream furniture from this store.
Cait M — Google review
Toys, tools, glassware, signs, old phones, fishing/tackle boxes, lamps, radios and anything else you recall from your youth....or your parent's youth, ....you can find it here. Good selection at affordable prices. Lots of things that you haven't seen in years can be found here.....to unlock forgotten memories. I highly recommend you visit and feel the years just roll back.

We didnt buy anything but its a fun store to check out. Well organized, mad respect to the guys who keep it all in line. So many antique stores you go in and its more a rummage sale than shop. Really great if your looking for specific items, old furniture. Lots of cool finds.
Samantha D — Google review
Yes there is a lot of stuff, floor to ceiling! That is what makes it such a fun place to explore. Kind of rough around the edges but really cool.

BE AWARE- disreputable company. Do not order from this company, My credit card had two back-to-back fraud attacks first by Honey and Pines and then by an associated company, Willows and Pine. I had to cancel my credit card twice within two weeks because my card was used for fraudulent charges. Thankfully, my bank picked up on these fraudulent charge and sent me a Fraud Alert and denied the charges!!!!! NEVER order from them.
