Concerts & Shows
Theaters
Located on Fourth St., the Royal Oak Music Theatre is a historic cinema transformed into a vibrant performance venue. This club-style concert space with balcony seating has become a magnet for top-tier music and comedy acts, drawing renowned performers such as Lady Gaga, The Black Keys, Wilco, and many more. Originally debuting in 1978, the theater gained popularity in 2004 and quickly became a hotspot for live entertainment by 2007.
I had an amazing experience here! Staff was very understanding and kind through getting around and finding seats. The lighting was amazing and had a caring crowd. Next time Tommyinnit comes to stage I highly recommend seeing him here, his stand up is great!

Good venue for concerts. Parking garage is located right across the street and is only $5 to park. Big old theater with lots of historic looks to it. Women’s bathrooms only have one entrance/exit. And the sinks are funny. But other than that, they are bathrooms. They were clean. All GA for the show we went to, was able to get up in the pit pretty easily although we were running late for the show. Staff seemed friendly.
Emi M — Google review
The venue has reasonable acoustics for its size. The seating squashed you in. The seats are zip tied and there is absolutely no room between chairs. Even if they took 1 chair out of each row it would be an improvement. God forbid that your seating is on one of the rows consisting of a bench in which case it is truly squished in seating. Do get there late. No one is letting you sit. They already have their space. Drinks are expensive about $6 for a faygo pop. The staff was extremely friendly and cordial. No cash accepted credit or debit only.

Great venue. Friendly front door service. LA Guns and Tom Keifer (9/4/2025) were fantastic. Sound here is really good. Bartender also very friendly. Great place for a show. I will be back
Jamie E — Google review
It's a good place. A lot of their space is standing and the concert I was there for was PACKED. I sat in the wheelchair accessible spot and there were 3 whole wheelchairs and 2 walkers the rest was able-bodied that wanted to sit. Bar prices are reasonable for a concert hall. Bathrooms. They were hard to get into with a line, not enough room for a wheelchair and a person in the walkway in or out and only 1 toilet & sink that's accessible but not a lot of room to sit and wait for it. Will also say parking was not bad I have a bigger van and don't fit into a car parking garage and it took a bit to find a spot.
Jennifer K — Google review
My hubby and I came to see Bilmuri here. Absolutely loved the vibe of this venue. Sound was great, had a perfect view of the stage and everything. The only downside was it got extremely hot towards the middle-end of the show. So if you don’t do well with heat this venue might not be for you, but overall is a great place to see a show! 🤘🏻
Shelby G — Google review
Overall the venue was okay, nothing special. One drink was almost $30 which is excessive for any concert venue I’ve ever been to. The real kicker here is what happened at the end of the night. We drove 4 hours to see Joe P and Matt Maeson, while there we entered a give away to win a signed set list. I had just exited the doors no more than a minute earlier, when I received the text that I won and to come to the merch stand. When I turn around to come and retrieve my winnings they won’t let me back in. I’m met with complete hostility, and I’m being told the same thing over and over again without them trying to listen to what I am saying. I show them the text and they “check” on it. I’m standing at the door for 10 minutes while they figure it out just to have someone from security tell me someone else received the set list, which I don’t understand as I have the text and it was less than 10 minutes from the time I received said text. I understand policy being policy but I’m going home empty handed because they wouldn’t let back in to the merch stand that was 20ft away. Could have had one of the 10+ security people standing by the exits escort me there and then directly back out the door but that was not an option. Great concert but would not make the drive again based solely on the complete lack of professionalism from the staff.
Grace K — Google review
I saw a band there. The acoustics were fantastic! There was plenty of leg room between rows. Entry was quick and seamless. The drinks were pricey.

Zoo
Zoos & Aquariums
The Detroit Zoo is a 125-acre wildlife park that houses over 2,000 animals from around the world. Visitors can explore various attractions such as the National Amphibian Conservation Center, Great Apes of Harambee, and Arctic Ring of Life. The zoo offers interactive experiences like feeding giraffes, observing sea otters racing, and walking alongside kangaroos. Additionally, it features a mini-railroad and picnic areas for families to enjoy.
The Detroit Zoo has done so much work in recent years to improve the animal habitats, ensuring they have adequate space and enrichment opportunities, as well as creating new and exciting experiences for guests. The Zoo also does so much for the community, offering sensory friendly hours, hosting free admission days for certain populations, and community events (like the backpack donation day). All of the seasonal events (Bunnyville, Zoo Boo, and Wild Lights) have become family traditions and every year the zoo creates new gorgeous sceneries and adds more decorations which keeps us coming back. We are looking forward to the new discovery trails, estimated to open in 2026. We LOVE our zoo and can’t recommend a membership enough.

Absolutely gorgeous! Took my family about 4 hours but we enjoyed every minute of it. The penguins were probably my top favorite. Second favorite was the polar bear. So entertaining. It was too cold for some of the animals to be out, but the staff was very interactive with quite a few exhibits. Definitely a great time.
Jaycee R — Google review
Haven’t being Detroit Zoo in more than 10 + years. It has been changed so much! Fall season is the best time to come here. Beautiful colors, cool dry air. It is not crowded. It is a great park for families with young kids and grandkids. I think it is a must go place if you are at Detroit area! Highly recommended!
Wenyu L — Google review
The Detroit Zoo is such a fun place to spend the day! It’s super clean, easy to walk around, and has so many amazing animals to see. The polar bears and penguins were the highlights for me—especially the penguin exhibit, which is just awesome. You can get really close and watch them swim right past you. There is also a short train ride (though expensive considering they charge for one way ride and double up if you want to return) which is fun for kids. There’s a nice mix of big animals like giraffes and lions, plus smaller areas for birds and reptiles. It’s great for kids, but adults will have a blast too. Recommend to purchase giraffe feeding tickets in advance as they are limited for the day. There is also the dragon forest and the carousel that adds to the fun activities to do. There are lots of shady spots and benches to take a break, which is nice on hot days. Food inside is fine but a bit pricey, so maybe bring a few snacks. Staff were friendly and helpful, and parking was easy. Recommend parking near the water tower as that is closest to the entry gates. Overall, it’s a great day out for the whole family!

Loved the zoo. Very well maintained trails and paths with all amenities well situated. Very kid friendly atmosphere with allmost all the places suitable for stroller and Kids. All animal viewings are designed to suit for kids viewing. Center of attraction was penguin and polar bear. They have many food optionsw with vegetarian options. Food wasnt great but good enough for zoo trip. couple of stores around zoo offering draft beer, ice cream and cold drinks. Recommend to go in morning or evening as during noon time get hot and sunny, also all animals move to shed and hard to see. Few of the buildings were under construction nd closed during peak summer season.

Great time with my 2 adult daughters. We hardly ever get time for just we 3. We went because it was the last weekend of the Dragon Forest, I collect dragons. We drove an hour & a half to get there by noon. Sadly a lot of the animals were sleeping, but we did see, rhinoceros, giraffes, some exotic birds, went into the Reptile house, saw the penguins, a gnu and zebra. But for me, it was all about the Dragons🐲🥰. The zoo can actual do better on their food choices, especially when people are spending 4 or more hours there.
Kathryn N — Google review
I visited this zoo from out of state and I was thoroughly impressed! This is a huge zoo with lots of walking. The enclosures are all large and well maintained and the bigger ones have multiple vantage points which is neat! The signage is great, the volunteers were helpful and the entire zoo was clean with gorgeous horticulture. I was glad to see that the volunteers were stopping kids from doing things such as banging on the glass. The only thing I didn’t like was the AI signage at the Dragon Forest. I wish real artists had been used to illustrate the descriptions of the mythical creatures. I wish I had skilled that part and enjoyed the rest of the zoo more. Overall, I had a great time and would highly recommend this zoo!

Nice, little theatre. Tickets are affordable, especially if you take advantage of the $10 discount for Thursday performances. Overall, it was a fun experience. I would return in the future.

Cute theater that's located in the heart of Royal Oak. Seatings good but if you get stuck behind a person who's taller than you, good luck trying to see the stage. Bathrooms are close by so you don't have to miss too much of the show. Parking garage across the street which I loved.

Beautiful little theater! Easy to get to in Royal Oak. Parking was $2 and right across the street. I bought season tickets for 25-26 for $169 for 5 shows. Everyone was really friendly. Bathrooms were small but clean.

What an amazing theater! I saw Clue with my wife and son. Let me say, this gem out on a show on par with some of the best shows I've seen! The acting was superb, and comedic timing was excellent. And the set, absolutely phenomenal - it was expressive and immersive, yet just the amount of complexity as to keep the focus on the characters. And let me say the lighting. One word - spectacular! The way the colors used complimented each others, and how perfectly they matched the mood of each scene. Very well done. Overall it was all so wonderful. I will absolutely be back the next time I am in town. What a treat!

Yes, I went here recently for the first time to see Great American Trailer Park Musical! It's really charming and adorable and I felt comfortable during the show. I would recommend them opening up refreshments before the show as I had to leave to go get a water and then come back but other than that and the parking garage chaos, I'd definitely come back. But bring a water and park elsewhere next time maybe!

Sundays bring a lively Flea Market with over 50 vendors offering intriguing items. The market also serves as an event space for activities like food truck rallies and tasting nights.
We photographed a wedding at the ROFM recently and loved it. It offered a unique vibe that we haven't experienced anywhere else. Guests enjoyed themselves, many stayed until the end, some partied outside with an impromptu sing-along with the piano after the official party stopped...needless to say, it was an awesome wedding. Royal Oak offers a lot of backdrops for photos as well, all within walking distance of the ROFM. If you are looking for a welcoming spot for a stress-free wedding, teh Royal Oak Farmer's Market is right for you.

A happenin place in Royal Oak, and a great place to host your event! We always attend the farmers market, flea market, and many other events that Royal Oak hosts here! We also had our wedding here last year. It was amazing and all of the staff (especially Paulette) are so kind and helpful. Have your wedding here if you’re considering it! You won’t regret it.

Nostalgic stop on my trips home to Michigan, but sure has changed over the years. Disappointed they now allow dogs as that's all you heard was dogs barking at other dogs, there's fresh food involved.. we were kicked out years ago for bringing our Beagle and now here we are

A year-round community hub. It's historic (100 years old), but timeless. We visit regularly for fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as for farm fresh eggs and local baked goods. One visit and you'll make it a return destination.

The Royal Oak Farmers Market used to be my Saturday morning first stop. Now there is no parking, many of the vendors are gone and the prices are terrible. Sorry, but someone ruined a great thing. I hope they will consider the price to make it low.

Love the vendor selection and layout. Most vendors are inside. Seating options (if you get a pastry, coffee or smoothie) and bathroom is clean. Parking is close and free. Get there early, bring cash (although many take credit cards now) and your own bags. Be prepared to be wow'd!!!

The best farmers market around! Fantastic bakery and Pierogies too! We love the Heirloom tomato options and all the veggies you need! They also have a great meat and seafood vendor we love too. Need your knives sharpened? They do that too. Big fan of mushrooms, they have a sweet mushroom vendor. Pre-covid they had an incredible local kitchen too for breakfast and lunch. When it's open again, it's a must visit!

Whether you're in the mood for mosaics, glass fusing, or even crafting wax hands and spin art, you can drop by anytime without needing an appointment. For those looking to hone their skills further, lessons in canvas painting and pottery wheel throwing are also available. But that's not all!
An amazingly friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, patient, and motivating staff navigated a full house of would be artists spanning decades in age and light years in talent. The choices of activities allowed all in our group, from age 12 to 65, to find a comfort level and an appropriate level of risk. A terrific family entertainment, well worth the time, and solidly in the “want to do it again” column!

We signed up for a wheel throwing class and we had an absolute blast. Val was an incredibly kind and patient instructor. She never once made us feel like we didn't know what we were doing and you only have an hour, but the way the classes are structured, the time limit isn't a problem. We never felt rushed. We can't wait to see our bowls and can't wait to book another course here!

The wheel spin and molding the clay was very therapeutic. We did the wheel spin, made bowls. The instructor was very informative, very patient, and very understanding. The bowls came out like we were professionals 😂 we both just happened to pick out the same colors! 😆

We loved our Wheel Throwing class and had a GREAT instructor. Amazing that in an hour's time we were able to create and paint a masterpiece. Our booking was made by a third party so they were not set up for our entire group to participate in the wheel throwing class but they did a great job of pivoting and ensuring everyone was accommodated and able to paint if they were not able to throw. We had a great time here and I would recommend this experience!

American restaurant
Redcoat Tavern, a veteran British-American pub and burger joint established in 1972, offers a unique dining experience with its retro red-booth vibe. This Royal Oak staple is renowned for serving some of the best burgers in Michigan, including the original Redcoat burger topped with their secret sauce. The tavern provides a variety of beer options and is an ideal spot to unwind with friends or family after a long day.
Very sweet, hard working, and attentive servers/staff! Joe was my server for the night and he was so sweet! He helped with recommendations, answered any questions I had as well. He was very attentive. Made sure to check in on me, and fill drinks often :) The food came out so quick I was surprised! It was all nice and hot with great flavor. As a more traditional american food eater, they didn't have much of that (not that they advertise that they do, but just incase that's something you're looking for)! Serving sizes are definitely generous!!! It's really cool that you can add in practically anything into the mac n cheese because they make it fresh!! I added jalapeños, and it was such a flavorful dish overall! The truffle fries are okay, they have a big amount of flavor so would be best to share (after a couple it's overpowering). One big thing to mention is the big step at the entrance, and not really being able to tell where the entrance even is. I tripped over the step immediately lol. Ambiance was pretty nice inside! Overall would recommend! Price is somewhat high, but you definitely get what you pay for!

We stopped in for dinner on a Saturday night. It was packed, but the wait was only 15 minutes. It was definitely worth the drive and the brief wait. The burgers were exceptional and cooked to perfection. The French fries were delicious and hot. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try. The service was prompt and courteous.
EL B — Google review
Every time I come here, I leave very full and happy. The Brasserie Burger is a favorite, as well as their pot de crème, but my absolute must-have every time is the clam chowder. I always get a pint to take home with me for later. The restaurant itself accurately portrays a tavern atmosphere. If you’re in Royal Oak, definitely give it a try.
Zophael R — Google review
I ordered a Cuban sandwich and it came so soggy it was not edible and aside from that it didn't have a good taste anyway. The meat tasted off and looks past its date as do the pickles. The general manager was more interested in making excuses saying that he checked it all himself and knows for a fact it was not wrong. So he's calling us liars. My coworker ordered her burger medium well and it was bloody! This guy thinks we are idiots and it was very obvious by the way he talked to all three of us. Don't go here unless you like rotten soggy food & a manager that thinks his customers are dumb.
Jamie K — Google review
Amazing Burgers, Ambience, and Service! This is a must try for anyone that likes burgers, bar food, English pub fare, and just delicious comfort food. I always recommend starting with the scotch eggs and fried mushrooms. Scotch eggs are tasty protein bombs and hand battered fried mushrooms are so rare these days, when I find them I get them. Then I always recommend the signature burger. The Zinc Brasserie Burger add Piedmont beef. Sure it's a 25 dollar burger, but sometimes a splurge is well deserved. This is the place to celebrate someone or something good in your life. Its a great meal from start to finish. Highly recommend.
Joseph R — Google review
It has been years since I've been here. I wish I would have just kept the memory and not gone back. The burger was average at best and for how much it cost I expected the best burger I have ever had. The onion rings were pretty great though.
Jeff D — Google review
It's probably been at least 20 years since we stopped at the Redcoat Tavern for their delicious 😋 clam chowder. On the way north on Woodward Avenue, we decided to stop and get a bowl of clam chowder. However, when we walked inside it was busy and noisy and red, so we decided on a take out order instead. I am sure, because it is called the Redcoat Tavern, the inside has basically all red bulbs or lamps, so the entire interior of the tavern has a red glow to it. The take out area we were told was around the corner. When we got there, we found out it was also where the servers pick up their orders. That was the same 20 years ago. However, one of the servers(Natasha) was very pleasant and said can I help you and we said, clam chowder to go. She then stated a pint or a quart, we said a quart. We waited a short time and got our quart of clam chowder and oyster crackers (unfortunately the small bags we got were pretty stale. We also ordered a basket of bread which was very good. All in all the bill was just under $25.00. it would be nice if there was a specific area for take outs rather than in the flow of server traffic. I know many restaurants are cutting back on serving size or minimizing the ingredients. The same goes for the clam chowder, which you could call potato chowder with a few clams. We remember back when there were clams with every spoonful of the chowder, no more. Even though it was very tasty a few more pieces of clam would be nice. Even with the stale crackers the clam chowder was still very good as it was 20 years ago less a few pieces of clams. Even with the not so good crackers and less clams, we still gave a 4-star because of the clam chowder. I would recommend giving this place a try. Especially the clam chowder😋.

Redcoat has always been a staple in the RO area and it’s still dang good! Amazing drink list. They have great classic cocktails and lengthy and unique wine and beer lists. Bravo! Gotta get the burger. You can zhuzh it up But if you can’t, you can get the fish and chips. They do a great shepherd’s pie too! The restaurant is known for its elegant yet homey dining environment, making it perfect for guests seeking privacy while enjoying their meals. Such an amazing experience!! My friends and I all went and really enjoyed it :)) I got the fettuccine Alfredo(1), super creamy and good. Another friend got gnocchi with bolognese sauce and herb chicken(2), he rated 7/10 but finished his plate the fastest out of all of us. Picture (3) was a Sunday gravy with spaghetti noodles and brisket, happy noises were made the entire time my friend was eating this dish!! My other friend got the filet(4) and she loved how tasty it was. We also ordered cheese bread I didn’t get a picture of but it was the BEST cheese bread I’ve ever had in my life. Our server was so kind, I forgot her name unfortunately but the service in general was great. Also the ambience of the place was very delightful. Very highly recommend this place if I’m in Detroit again soon and want Italian I’m coming back 100%

Everything about our experience was lovely. We had made reservations for 6 and an extra person was brought along and the hostess did a wonderful job accommodating our party. I also felt the menu you was reasonably priced. Service was amazing. Marvin did such a wonderful job with the timing of food, drinks, and making sure everyone was well taken care of. It was my mom’s birthday and they brought out freshly made cinnamon donuts and ice cream for the table to share. They were amazing. Our server really made me mom feel so loved and special. For appetizers we ordered meatballs, bread and olive plate, and cheese bread. Of the three I would recommend the meatballs first. They were big, moist, and the sauce served with them was nice. The bread plate was also really nice. The cheese bread was average. Nothing I would rave about. For dinner I ordered the brisket rigatoni which was lovely. I really enjoyed the depth of the sauce. My brother got chicken Marsala and that was also very well made. They do Italian classics very well here. It was like recommend for gatherings, specifically because of the big round tables. It makes dinner together more enjoyable.

We hosted a celebratory wedding brunch at D'Amato's for approximately 100 people in October 2025. Tony was a consummate professional at every step of the planning process. He helped us craft a vision for an event that aligned with what we had in mind. Based on our planning, we had high hopes for the event...and Tony and his colleagues at D'Amatos surpassed our wildest dreams! The food and beverages were stellar, the service was superb, and the environment was the perfect blend of chic, yet comfortable. Our guests raved about the food and atmosphere and spoke immensely highly about the friendly and attentive D'Amato's staff. We would HIGHLY recommend D'Amato's as an event space in downtown Royal Oak...you will NOT be disappointed!

We had D'Amatos cater our wedding at Emerald Theatre in Mount Clemens. The food is truly amazing and most of our guests raved about it! One thing to improve would be to get a little more creative with dietary meals (my gluten free friends were served just zoodles and asparagus). I understand it is easier for the kitchen to do one blanket meal for all diet types, however, adding a form of protein would go a long way as well as a gluten free starch such as alternative pasta or rice. They had to order a gluten free pizza from outside because they were not provided enough food to eat with the drinks that were flowing. Other than that, everything was perfect. Our tasting was fun and Tony made sure everything went well together. He is such a kind and personable guy! I told everyone about his restaurant that loved the food so they know they can enjoy it again anytime!! We will be back as well for the best arancini and palomino sauce we have ever had. Thank you Tony and team! ❤️

Italian restaurant
If you're on the hunt for a delightful Italian dining experience, look no further than Bigalora Wood Fired Cucina. This contemporary eatery specializes in Neapolitan-style wood-fired pizzas that are crafted with care, featuring a unique biga fermentation process that takes 72 hours before they hit the oven at an impressive 900 degrees for just 90 seconds.
Bigalora Wood Fired Cucina is an absolute must-visit for anyone who loves authentic Italian flavors and high-quality ingredients. From the moment you walk in, the warm and inviting atmosphere sets the perfect tone for a great dining experience. The star of the show is definitely their wood-fired pizza—the crust is perfectly crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and has that delicious smoky flavor you can only get from a true wood-fired oven. The Margherita pizza was simple yet flavorful, with fresh basil and high-quality mozzarella. I also tried their house-made pasta, which was cooked to perfection and paired with a rich, flavorful sauce. Beyond the food, the service was fantastic. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive. The drink selection, including their craft cocktails and Italian wines, complemented the meal perfectly. If you’re looking for a restaurant that offers authentic Italian dishes with fresh, high-quality ingredients, Bigalora Wood Fired Cucina is the place to go. I’ll definitely be back to try more of their menu!

Got the oven roasted wings (5/5) and the pizza with half pepperoni and half cheese (3/5)! The wings were amazing, they have a slight spice to them which I didn’t expect. The pizza was decent, but not my favorite. I think the sauce and pepperoni could be more flavorful, but the crust was good! I also ordered my food to-go, so maybe the pizza would have been better fresh. Solid spot!

We had a nice lunch which was slightly tainted by our table neighbors… we were seated by a table with a bunch of small, excited, loud kiddos… there was plenty of room to seat us elsewhere and yes, I could have asked to move… but by the time it became slightly obnoxious we already had drinks and an app! Aside from that the food was good. Nice menu options and a nice environment for lunch.

I recently had the most delightful experience at this woodfire pizza place 🍕! From the moment I walked in, the aroma of freshly baked dough and the warmth of the oven created a welcoming atmosphere. The pizza was absolutely incredible, with a perfectly crispy crust and delicious, high-quality toppings. I especially loved the Margherita pizza, the simplicity of the flavors really let the woodfire taste shine through. It's definitely a place I'll be returning to, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves great pizza! #WoodfirePizza #PizzaLover #Foodie #PizzaNight #DeliciousFood

This place was absolutely beautiful. Food was amazing and so was the server. I felt bad for her, her section was up a flight of stairs. Could imagine running for a side of ranch 😩? But a good workout at the end of the day. I sure would like to know their step count. Lol.

Upon entering, several employees ignored me waiting for seating. Some even came up to the host stand to answer the phone and others walked past me, no one addressed me at all. After about 7 minutes of waiting to be sat at an empty restaurant, someone finally came to speak to me. Once seated, I ordered wine, appetizers and a pizza, in which all were incredibly underwhelming. The wine was poorly selected and it's watery nature turned me off. The appetizers were alright, except the brussels, they were horrible. We found the pizza to be very small with almost no toppings, I ate the entire thing myself because it was so small. My company was turned off by the presentation and decided not to eat, but she did enjoy her espresso martini. At the end of my experience I understood why this place was empty on a weekend night. Although Royal Oak is generally hospitality challenged, this place was exceptionally bad. Great for old people and those who are seeking food to avoid alcohol poisoning.

Had the pleasure of trying out this spot for dinner with my wife after passing by it every other day for 3 months! We tried the potato croquettes, chef salad, and pizzas. The potato croquette: - Delicious - Perfect crunch - Smooth potato filling inside Chef salad: - Nice side for the pizza - Aside from presentation, it was ok. More sauce choice and higher quality lettuce would have made it better Pepperoni pizza: - Amazing dough! Wish it was a little fluffier though - Sauce is great - Pepperoni was delicious, a little more crisp would be better - The cheese was on point with the stretch! Mediterranean pizza: - Wife loved it, but also commented on the fluffiness. - The garlic oil is a nice touch - Goat cheese was on point While the atmosphere was really nice and cozy, I do wish the 2 people seating was larger. We had a hard time fitting the pizzas on that small table. ***The service however, was perfect! Made sure to leave our server a nice tip.*** Thanks for having us, Bigalora! Will visit again in the future.

Went in on a Friday. We wanted to sit outside but there was a private event on their patio. We sat in side up stairs. Food was good, service was good. We ordered the chopped salad and prosciutto to start. Then the white anchovy pizza, pistachio pizza, and ham and mushroom pizza. The pistachio was the star of the show! We will be back.

Excellent selection of beer and seafood! The dessert is also a must try. I'd come back again since this was my first time here!

Really tasty food and great service. Stopped here before a concert for dinner with my family and it was the perfect spot to wait until doors opened.

Jen served us on Saturday on the patio & she killed it! Her customer service was nothing short of amazing. Her knowledge of the menu. Her description of the dish I wanted just made me melt. Everything tasted delicious. We didn’t feel rush at all. I Love her personality. Thank you for having us. We can’t wait to visit again.

Our clan arrived for a mid-day festival of appetizers and they were delish!!!! We shared crab cakes and calamari…so good we ordered seconds. We shared two orders fresh perch fillets and they came with salad and the best fries we have ever had. These fries were truly fantastic. They specialize in craft beer and everybody enjoyed their brew. I however, swear by their homemade root beer. Our waitress was super and the service was surprisingly fast. We sat at the window in the bar. I have eaten there before and all the food is chef quality. Don’t miss out. This is a must stop. They have the greatest Shrimp Scampi. 🍤

Stopped here for an early dinner today while visiting the area and loved it. The food was excellent, and the beer (brewed on site) was fresh and tasty. They even brew their own root beer, which was outstanding! The service was friendly and fast, and the atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming.

It was a Friday night, 6:45-ish, and our first two restaurant picks had 1-hour waits. We called Lily's and were told we had 15 minutes to get a table for 3 (wife, son, and myself) before they got busy. We were there in 7. In a nutshell we were super impressed. Service was quick and friendly (the waitress actually cleared plates from the table throughout the dinner), and the food was great. Lily's just moved up our list to #1 for our regular Friday night outings. For appetizers we had the Creole soup and New England clam chowder. We would recommend both. I can't tell you for certain there's a hint of nutmeg in the chowder, but my wife is certain. I just thought it tasted fantastic. For dinner we had blackened-cod fish tacos, the Hickory Charred Salmon w/ Tarragon Mustard (wife substituted garlic-sautéd spinach), and the North Shore Seafood Pasta. All three dishes were great. I think I was the winner with the North Shore pasta. Shrimp, mussels, and scallops in a decadent white wine cream sauce. WOW. I was the only one that didn't have left-overs. Having not been there in years, for dessert we ordered the beer-battered brownie with Ray's vanilla ice cream, whip cream, and a raspberry sauce we didn't intend to finish. But we did. My only explanation is there were three of us and it was a really, really good. We'll be visiting Lily's way more often. Update 5/3/2024 Another great visit -- still surprised Lily's has such great chips and salsa. Added pictures for the Garlicky Shrimp Scampi. It tasted terrific and we're glad it came with grilled bread because it's criminal to waste the sauce. The New England Clam Chowder tasted terrific again. I recommend the kitchen stir the soup before serving to remove the skin that forms on top (you can see it in the picture). This happens at home, too, which is why I stir before serving guests. The star of the Cesar salad was the sesame crusted chicken. The star of the show should have been the Cesar dressing, but the dressing lacked the personality that anchovies give bring. If you order it, I recommend asking for additional dressing on the side.

I dined outside where I could enjoy the active summer night in Royal Oak. Every person I interacted with, from hostess to multiple waiters, were friendly and made sure my party was well attended to. The food came out so fast. I really applaud their kitchen staff because the restaurant was busy. Don’t sleep on the beer here! They’re ahead of their time with brewing beer and they know a thing or two. I enjoyed their IPA.

Cafe
Café Muse is a charming European-inspired eatery that offers locally sourced comfort food and a variety of beers. Founded in 2006 by David Smith and Greg Reyner, the café has gained recognition for its innovative menu, which combines traditional dishes with unique twists. One of their standout creations is the grilled cheese sandwich, made with a delightful combination of fontina, mozzarella, Havarti cheese, tomato, basil, and honey.
We stopped here for brunch, and it definitely exceeded our expectations! Got to enjoy a yummy Mimosa, and pair it with some seriously good, fresh entrees including my favorite, the French toast! Good service, nice atmosphere too.

On my tour of hitting the Brunch spots in Royal Oak, we landed here today. I got the mushroom eggs with sweet potato mash and a side a bacon, my lady got the French toast with jam, and my baby got the buttermilk pancakes. I do plan going back to try more food so that should tell you it isn't bad It wasn't bad but it wasn't anything to go bragging about. The service was chill and servers were attentive. Try it for yourself and make your call. It's worth the experience. My baby ate all of pancakes. First time ever.

Café Muse, located in Royal Oak, has garnered attention for its European-style menu featuring fresh, and full of flavors. However, some patrons have expressed concerns regarding service quality, particularly in relation to the restaurant’s automatic 20% gratuity. In summary, while Café Muse is celebrated for its innovative cuisine and has received notable accolades, experiences with service quality appear to vary among patrons. The mandatory 20% gratuity policy has been a point of contention, particularly when service expectations were not met. Prospective diners may wish to consider these factors when planning their visit.

Very interesting mode of operation. Muse is a breakfast, brunch, lunch place, as noted by the hours. It CLOSES at 1:30 pm. The location changes to Cafe De Olla (or Rosita's Cocina) in the afternoon for dinner. The meals looked and tasted very fresh. By the way, Rosita's uses the same entrance for dinner. It's kind of confusing for first-timers looking for the places. The wild mushroom soup was delicious. It was kind of like a mushroom moose, as opposed to a bisque. I only wish the amount was larger for the bowl.

I was super excited to check this place out! The menu looks amazing! I drove over an hour…and anticipated waiting for such fabulousness! What I did not anticipate was how rude the hostess was. From Putting my name on the waiting list to ask me where I should sit to when I asked if I could grab a drink while I wait. The overall vibe was so negative that I put my name in walked next-door to Lilly’s. The people at Lilly’s were so friendly and inviting! We decided to stay there and enjoy our lunch. Goodness, what a difference rude people versus friendly kind people makes!

Breakfast is one of the harder meals for me to find places to go to eat. The quality at some restaurants of their breakfast isn’t that great, but this place is amazing. The quality of the food is amazing and I got my food 3-6 minutes after ordering. This place is a hidden gem! The views of the Outdoor seating are amazing. I recommend the dish Smoked Salmon Scramble with Guyere cheese and chives. I will definitely be back here.

Excellent food, great service. I had the stuffed French toast with bacon and marscapone, Mrs. had the smoked salmon and eggs with havarti cheese.
