U.S.S. Edson - Saginaw Valley Naval Ship Museum

Military Museums
The U.S.S. Edson - Saginaw Valley Naval Ship Museum, located near downtown Bay City, is home to the USS Edson, a 1950s destroyer with self-guided tours and exhibits featuring vintage artifacts. This warship served for 30 years in various conflicts across Asia and spent off-duty time near South Vietnam during operational tours there. The ship played a role in historical events such as the Paris Conference Agreement signing in 1973.
This was the Best Experience! I would highly recommend letting a guide take you through the ship, the knowledge, experience and stories shared make this an Unforgettable journey. Bill was our guide about a quarter of the way through that joined us and He was absolutely amazing! So much to learn and see. They even Host weddings, birthdays, school and troop trips! Go, you'll be glad you did!
Karla T — Google review
Happily stumbled upon this great ship purely by chance. My 12 year old nephew was interested (first spark of life on the trip that day). We drove closer to take a look and discovered it was a museum and open. It was quite fascinating going aboard and seeing the entire ship. Very few closed or blocked doors. Worth the time and money for sure.
Dianne L — Google review
Impressive, love it. So much to explorer. And so much to learn about this ship. I love Navy ships. There a story to tell on each and every one of them in Michigan. So glad I stop on in. Staff was friendly , kind and helpful. Answered questions. And the gentleman in the gift shop had a story to tell about this ship. He was interesting to chat with. As we were leaving another gentleman chatted with us again and explained a few more details. I was intrigued with the fire pit outside the gift shop. He explained who donated it. And gave a story as well. I would come back again when I am going that way again.
Molly R — Google review
The first half of my visit was self-guided, and at my own pace. The areas off-limits were clearly marked and all guests receive a guide book containing rules upon entry in Admission Office/ Gift Shop. Halfway through my visit, I met Eric, a retired US Navyman, who not only offered to show me the Authorized Only parts of the ship, but also offered me some of his beautiful hand-made crafts as souvenirs. He taught me more than paper or books ever could, and I am SO thankful he was there to enjoy the weather as I was so we could explore the ship together. He crafts the rope work for the ship, and creates keychains for guests in his spare time. I would HIGHLY recommend seeing the ship and meeting the staff, but Eric is there most weekends if you're interested in an entirely unique experience! Please go when you have the time to truly appreciate the USS Edson!
Cheyenne M — Google review
The Edson is truly a gem. We took our Scout Troop there for an overnight experience. The volunteers were ALL amazing. The passion they have for history and this ship really showed at every turn. Specifically, Erik, who was our groups guide for the evening/night was absolutely amazing. He showed us parts of the ship and little details that we would easily have overlooked. I could tell that he really enjoyed giving tours and answering questions from both scouts and adults that were interested in learning more. Bruce (who actually SERVED on the Edson) also had some great insights and stories. If you are in Bay City, this is absolutely worth stopping for.
Jacki P — Google review
Very cool how close you can drive up to the ship and even stop get out and snap a picture of your vehicle, or even selfie or family photos with it. Great view of the water and definitely worth it at sunset!
Yolo F — Google review
This ship from the shore alone is magnificent. It looks big, but inside it is huge. Our tour guide Wayne, was fantastic. His knowledge of the ship and enthusiasm for the tour make it an unforgettable experience. It is worth far more that $15 a person. I cannot say enough good things about all of it. Even though we didn't see him, a big thank you to Paul as well.
Guyfromcroswell — Google review
Full disclosure, we arrived after they had closed for the day. That being sad the environment and scenery make for awesome photo back drops. Plenty of parking for even larger vehicles. If you are in the Baycity area and have some time to kill, check out the tour.

Wenonah Park at World Friendship Shell is a charming 6.1-acre park in Bay City, Michigan, featuring a riverside promenade and an amphitheater that hosts warm-weather concerts and festivals. The Nickless Family Community Pavilion atop the amphitheater can be rented for parties and weddings, while during colder months it transforms into an ice rink for skating and holiday fun.
Fantastic! The bands! Awesome 👌 my first time seeing cover bands! I was impressed for sure. GenX 🤘The great crowd for the fireworks 🎆 felt very safe. Police presents on point 👉 👈
Tonya R — Google review
Absolutely awesome place for bands to play. We got to see Riot V perform there recently; we had plenty of room to sit, and the band sounded amazing. It has great acoustics for a smaller outdoor venue. The river is gorgeous, there are beautiful murals, a neat statue by a big fountain, and a small playground. They also had an ample amount of restrooms, which was super convenient. The only downside I could think of is that there wasn't as much parking as the show I went to needed. We got there early and had no problem, but my friends who got there later in the night had to walk pretty far.
Crystal L — Google review
Seagulls were very approachable and willing to take food. Only ever flew off when a passerby passed, but they would always return. The optimal location for seagull feeding is the benches by the Princess Wenonah boat. Would recommend highly.
Seagull F — Google review
We had the opportunity to visit the Wenonah Park at World Friendship Shell in APR_FY2024 and it was an amazing experience. We made a plant tour and fore sure it's beautiful place, specially to visit in a a hot summer day. The land around the Wenonah Park at World Friendship Shell is also remarkable, even a simple ride across the roads could be an unforgettable experience. Definitely, it's a place where we want back.
Robertson S — Google review
absolutely great concert The C.C.R band was extremely talented ,beautiful place 2 watch a concert & the pier in background was beautiful 👍😎💯💯💯💯💯
Donna A — Google review
Beautiful place in downtown Bay City, right near the river. There are many events going on, especially in the Summer time. You are right next to downtown, where you can walk, eat, and have some fun. I highly recommend Bay City if you are traveling through Michigan.
Jacob M — Google review
Nice venue on the River, seen the band five for fighting there and it was a really cool evening. Took a couple pics with the drummer Mr. Randy Cooke, super great guy! I'd enjoy seeing another show here, parking was good and the atmosphere was very nice👍🏼
Ron S — Google review
Bay City is a gem within the Great Lakes Bay Region and the live music at the World Friendship Shell in Wenonah Park never disappoints. I am looking forward to another summer spent enjoying the city.

The Delta College Planetarium is a magnificent and informative facility that offers indoor stargazing, moon shows, and a gift shop with related items. It provides an exceptional experience that combines education with entertainment. The planetarium has small areas throughout which provide fun educational facts about space. Additionally, it's an excellent location to host events such as weddings due to its professional services and memorable atmosphere. Visitors can learn about the solar system while enjoying comfortable seating in the spacious facility with plenty of parking available for convenience.
The Bay City planetarium is an interesting place to visit, the shows are great and immersive. The place is great for kids and also is quite educational. I like where it is located in downtown Bay City as you can walk to other shops after a show. I recommend this place.
Jacob M — Google review
the show was a bit silly for my taste and probably more aimed at children, the projector was a bit dim and it's cooling fans were very audible, and the seams in the screen were sometimes visible, but it was still good overall and I enjoyed myself quite a bit. definitely worth $7
Kody M — Google review
The Planetarium is so nice! Have gone here a few times to learn about the stars & sciency stuffs. The environment is so comfy you might fall asleep, a nice place to relax and learn about the universe.
Trevor H — Google review
Tickets were sold out for the show we wanted to see, but! Another different show was available. Excellent show. Glad we stuck around.
ALR 2 — Google review
Beautiful & educational facility. I have been here for multiple shows that never disappoint. A truly unique and remarkable experience. The little spaces throughout the planetarium with educational tidbits are fun. There is a a little gift shop as well. My wedding was held here in March of 2016 and the show that was put together for our ceremony was beautiful & unforgettable! Everyone we worked with for our wedding was professional & friendly. The pictures in the dome & on the viewing deck turned out amazing. Highly recommend attending a show here or even having an event here.
Rachel L — Google review
I lived here when it was Wynonna hotel, where the planetarium sits and the coolest part of that was the underground that we used to have some head shops down in there. It was the coolest thing ever in the 70s I like the planetarium it’s cool to.
Kim S — Google review
Great Place ... The Planetarium shows are all way fun & informative . . Great place to bring Kids & Grandkids . . All ways a Great Night when they bring out the Telescopes ....
Jerry P — Google review
Me and my fiance had an amazing time! The show was very well done and the symphony was out of this world. Well done! The only issue we had was the scrambling and moving people around to fill all the seats. It looked especially difficult for the seniors. My suggestion is to have assigned seats on ur website when purchasing tickets like they do at the movies now. I think that would help out tremendously for the patrons and the staff. And maybe an usher at the door with a flashlight for the elderly as well. I watched an elderly lady with a cane try n get up n go out but she couldn't see ..Thanks again great show otherwise...

State Theatre

Mentioned on

Performing arts theater
Concerts & Shows
The State Theatre in Bay City is a historic 1930s building with art deco design that hosts live performance art, including film and music. Originally opened as a vaudeville theatre in 1908, it later added a screen and transformed into a movie house. The theater has undergone extensive renovations to restore its original grandeur while still showcasing its unique Aztec architecture.
We went to the State Theater, it was a great experience! I wasn’t sure how my toddler would do at a movie theater, so we decided to try the free movie sponsored by Skorupski Funeral Home. It was perfect for us! We spent about $20 on concessions. The popcorn was very fresh, they sold quite a few St. Laurant Bros treats, and the sodas had free refills. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Overall, it was a great experience, and we will definitely be back!
Michelle R — Google review
Beautiful building and I am glad that the building is still being used. I attended a show here and sat in the balcony. The seats are incredibly small and therefore uncomfortable. I do not know if the main floor seats are as small. I would attend another show here if it was someone I really wanted to see but would probably pass if it was an artist I was just somewhat interested in
Jason H — Google review
The theater is beautiful, glad to have it back I! Went to the Magic Show that was advertised to be a 2 hr. Show from 3:00 -5:00 on Sunday April 13 and it was only 1 hr. It should have stated that is was geared for children also. It was mostly just juggling and jokes . We paid $20 and were disappointed.
Bonnie S — Google review
Had a wonderful time there on Saturday night at the Frank Sinatra tribute concert. A great time and wonderful to have the Theater back open. If you love Bay City get there and support the new owner.
Tam E — Google review
One word: Stunning! Immaculately restored to the glory days and ornate beauty of theatres of yesteryear, the State Theater is an absolute gem, located in the heart of Downtown Bay City. It is a must see on on your list of places to visit. The State Theater offers entertainment from seasonal movies, nationally recognized comedians and musical acts, renowned local artists, and local high school talent. They also offer a snack bar in the lobby with everything you would expect from a theater. The State Theater also offers gift certificates for anyone on your shopping list. Photos do not do justice to seeing this historical building in person. The State Theater is definitely a must see!
Todd S — Google review
We were there for a concert. Lovely restored theater.
Gayle O — Google review

Shopping
Bay City Antiques Center is a massive historic building in Michigan, housing over 400 booths filled with vintage treasures. Visitors can explore three stories of assorted goods from the past, including knick-knacks, toys, figurines, books, furniture, clothing, jewelry and more. While it may be overwhelming due to its size, the friendly staff are always on hand to help. Some visitors recommend setting aside plenty of time to fully explore this treasure trove of antiques and collectibles.
This store is both enormous and fantastic. Highly recommended. Be sure to explore the basement areas- (there are more than one). Staff is friendly. Easy to park.
KP G — Google review
We loved this place. 💙 So many beautiful antiques. The only issue we had was they only have 1 restroom for this whole block long antique store and it was out of order. We had to leave and walk quite a distance to locate a restroom we could use. I don't know how the workers there can go ALL day without using the restroom. Anyway, don't go with a full bladder but DEFINITELY Go there for the experience. This place is huge with an upstairs and basements. So many wonderful things to choose from Plan a whole day to shop there, so much to see!!
Jeri L — Google review
HUGE!! they everything you could want to search for. Dolls, records, knic knacks, books, clothes, they got it all. It's a huge area so plan to stay awhile! Family friendly. Parking is OK. Mostly parallel parking on front and side. The staff was so friendly and nice. Prices were good. And they run sales on different items different days. It's a must stop in and check out in bay city!!
Sade — Google review
First of all its HUGE!!!!! Blocks of stuff I had a great time looking at all the stuff. If you're going here you might need 2 days lol Some prices are above what they are worth but talk with the sellers some are willing to go down. I'll be back for sure!!! It's really my 5th time lol I had a great time as always and it's right next to the water and downtown. So if you get hungry it's just a few steps away. The staff is always very friendly and helpful.
Jennifer S — Google review
Wow! This place is amazing. This center is huge. Three stories of assorted goods from yesteryear. You can get lost in this antique center. Lots and lots of booths. You can find knick knacks, toys, figurines, books, albums, furniture clothes, magazines, jewelry, and the list goes on. Plan on spending lots of time making your way through. Worth a visit.
Joey D — Google review
Visited 12/30/21 This store is 3 levels, the lighting is good and the layout is awesome. I’m always rushed when we are in places like this, to appreciate the content you need to invest hours or half a day. Thank you!
Mr. W — Google review
So much stuff, almost a museum than a store but its a lot of fun to walk through. Most of the items i sought after were priced a bit high but i did buy something
Brian R — Google review
This is a massive antique store with a truly impressive size, but the selection was mostly knick-knacks and nothing particularly unique stood out. It's a bit cluttered and 'mazy,' which is typical for these types of shops. The staff we saw were friendly, but many of the prices seemed high compared to other places we've visited. It's an okay stop if you're in the area and have some time to browse, but I wouldn't make a special trip.

Riverwalk Pier is a charming walkway along the Saginaw River, offering peaceful surroundings and scenic lookout spots. It's a popular destination for locals and visitors to stroll, rollerblade, or bike along the riverfront. The pier passes through various attractions such as Veterans Memorial Park, Kantzler Arboretum, and Fitness Park. With its lovely ambiance, greenery, viewing points, and photo-worthy aesthetics, it's an affordable outdoor activity that won't disappoint.
I have been going to the river walk since I was a young boy. You can walk, run, bike, and there are several connecting paths from the bridge all the way to boat ramps. This is a nice place in the Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer. During 4th of July, the fireworks are the best in Michigan!
Jacob M — Google review
The riverwalk was a wonderful paved area along the river, we walked nearly 4 miles on it. Nice views, safe, and LOTS of ducks and geese.
Desiree — Google review
Beautiful place to walk ,pet friendly, great play areas and wildlife ☺️
Tara G — Google review
A very quiet and scenic community area, lots of birds!
Fuchun Z — Google review
This is a nice place to visit. However, if you have little kids, be cautious. The railings there have spindles that are spaced wide enough for young kids to fit through. Parents need to make sure they are keeping an eye on their kids. There used to be some benches out at the end for people to sit on, but those are no longer there.
John B — Google review
quite and a clean place but it could come up with more attractive ideas for the park

Throughout the year, it hosts community events such as fireworks on the 4th of July, River Roar, and Pig Gig.
Really nice park. Beautiful park with flowers and walking. They have created like a little zen area. It's a little path through the trees with little calming words and a couple of benches I didn't take too many photos with phone camera. I will go again. Bring peanuts for friendly squirrels :)
Brenda C — Google review
Nice play area near the Saginaw river and apart of the parks downtown. Parks have paved paths for walking and bike riding. Geese and ducks are always present so watch where your walking and probably best to stay off of grass due to excessive droppings. It does have some nice spot for fishing from shore.
Amy S — Google review
I have two small children, both neurodivergent. The park is well constructed and includes safe, fun equipment for all ages and stages of development. The families in the area are kind, and the kids play with one another no matter the differences. I've loved our times here so much, and so have my kids!
Shana S — Google review
Great time being by the river, nice breeze to cool ya down on a hot day.
Kenneth D — Google review
Beautiful park. Nice view of lake Huron. The pier is located at this park. Nice walk. They also have work out equipment.
Bluebird F — Google review
I love the 3-5yr old playground. The double swing is my toddler's favorite! But it gets very crowded, and my child is autistic, making it a less often choice.

Libraries
Located in Bay City, the Sage Branch Library is a historic gem that has been operating since 1884. Gifted by Henry W. Sage, the library's Victorian architecture and status on the National Register of Historic Places make it a must-see for visitors. With over 110,000 books and modern amenities like an elevator and computer access, the library seamlessly blends its rich history with contemporary offerings.
I was able to walk to this library alone from my house as a 10yr old and spent many hours there, I thought it was the best. I could go anywhere in the world just by sitting at Sage reading books. 40 years later and I'm still going there. Sage Library has programs for all ages and the selection of books is wonderful. The people who work there are beautiful and always willing to help.
Tina G — Google review
Thank you to Fireman BJ for doing story time, explaining what firefighters do, helping our kids be safe and showing them the equipment. You have a good rapport with children. My grandaughter likes the hat and sticker. The children's activities at this branch are well organized and age appropriate.
Carol W — Google review
Very awesome public library with rich historical history!😊👍 Loved the design and artwork 4 story y'all!😱
Joe D — Google review
I waited weeks for a book to come in. The letter said they'd hold 10 days. They return the book the morning off the 10th day. I showed up at 1 pm on the 10 th day. Gone. They don't even wait until the close of the 10 th business day without informing you of this. BAD BUSINESS.
Dawn W — Google review
Staff were friendly and could be heard joking with visitors. The floors were very clean, and there were lots of small activities to do on the different floors. The amount of different genres and formats of entertainment was actually quite impressive, and the little book/movie sale on the 3rd floor was fun to look through. All in all it was a fun visit.
Rin P — Google review
The last time I was at the Sage Library was 40 years ago. It's amazing how much this library has changed through the decades for the better. This library has the latest to offer, including an inviting children's area, computers, an elevator for all three floors, and a DVD area. The updates clearly show a much improved and intuitive layout and floor plan, while retaining it's historic architecture, welcoming environment, and decor. The staff is friendly, professional and very helpful. Highly recommended!!
Darren S — Google review
Stopped in to work for a few hours. Very nice library with plenty of parking. Library looks well organized and staffed.
Susan C — Google review
One of the oldest libraries in the State of Michigan, they even opened a "satellite site" at the Mall some years ago when the building (or was it the roads?) was undergoing some renovations. With a wonderful children's section in a historic building (that was once a home), the architecture alone is worth making a visit. There is a "rock garden" on the property, where many folks have painted small rocks and large stones with words, and sometimes scenes or other things. The public is encouraged to come and rearrange these painted rocks into sentences, etc. My grandsons had a blast doing this! It's fun for the kiddies, and a bit educational, too. Come and try it on for size.

Today was the 50th bay city library system celebration. They served cake, small bottles of water, did tours of the library (as seen in pictures), gave game cards out that had was library themed, and someone that did balloon animals. The staff members that I've interacted today and the past have always been kind to me. The place is generally clean. The garden area for ready is cozy in my opinion and a great place to read or go if you need fresh air.

Absolutely fantastic children’s programming! The children’s librarians are so friendly and energetic and the head children’s librarian makes a point of remembering the names of the kids who come to events which makes such a difference. When my son hears her say his name he lights up. It makes him feel like she notices that he is there and it makes the library feel like a community.
Zoey L — Google review
The children show more decorum than the “Adults”. People are allowed to talk at the tops of their lungs, so don’t expect to be able to read or study here. If they can’t even get their security guards to ask people to simply stop talking loudly on their phones or using profane language for the whole floor to hear, perhaps property tax should be lowered and this place can be defunded for them to get the message that this place needs to be run like an actual library.
Phil R — Google review
Always enjoy going to Wirt library & Sage library. Downloaded Kanopy app and used my library card to register and can watch movies for free with tickets, and found that kids with a library card have their own section that is Unlimited. What a benefit to Parents with children, and a great reason to start kids young appreciating the resources from a Library.

Absolutely the kindest and most accommodating staff I've had the pleasure to experience and deal with. Thankyou to the staff of Wirt Library, Bay City, MI. May the same grace and love you work under never faulter.
Mojo M — Google review
First time coming here. Showed up at 1:30 on Sunday (hours posted are 1-5) Doors are locked, tried calling 5 times and got hung up on every time. Will never be coming back here, absolutely horrific establishment
Nate — Google review
a decent library plenty of nice reading spots. private rooms that are good for small groups and a good selection of books. honestly the only reason for my review is because of a rude and insulting comment made by one of the librarians a while back whe i was asking for info on different things. and she still works there. otherwise most the staff are friendly and helpful
Loki — Google review
I love that the library always has events and such for the kids but any event I have came to here has been so disorganized and when you ask questions, the staff look at you like you should what’s going on! I came to the live reindeer event with my toddler and it was chaos! Lots of parents had their children out in 20 degree weather without hats and coats. Library staff should report parents that don’t have their children dressed appropriately in harsh winter conditions. It’s a shame people just don’t care anymore.

Enjoyed a peaceful walk around the lagoon. Checked out the splash pad and amazing play structures. Plenty of parking. The campground was well maintained and had many sites which were perfect for pitching my tent. I will definitely be back!

Lovely park.. very easy to navigate and a short walk to the bay if you like that kind of thing. 2 restrooms/showers and very well maintained. I popped in for a single night with my hammock and realized it was super quiet after 10pm. Ten out of ten would stop by again. Also was able to record two owl types on a bird watching app I use. Very cool.

I’m visiting from NH. Our lakes are very clear & clean. This lake was far from that. However multiple people were in the water swimming and my daughter didn’t mind the mud bath. I will say that the kids playground and splash pad was on and popping. I wish there was food store & souvi er shop.

We were visiting family and they brought us here for the day. It is absolutely beautiful here. Nice and clean. There is tons of parking and places to picnic. Whether you want to play at the beach or take the kids to the splash pad, there is something for everyone.

This is one of the most beautiful Michigan State Parks we have ever been to. They have an amazing splash pad for the kids. Great place for birders. Well maintained trails long and short. A must stop for anyone in the Bay City Area..

Beach area was nice. Had volley ball pit, and a handicap ramp towards the water. Splash pad for the kiddos. Mine was a spur of the moment trip but I see coming back with family for a longer stay.

The state park was amazing! There was a walkway the whole way that went through marshes and all the way to the beach! We saw deer and birds and a tern! There was even a walkway out to the water. It was much appreciated by my husband and me.

Campground was great—clean bathrooms, spacious sites, and great for kids. The splash pad was awesome. The beach had nice sand and warm water, but the algae, muddy bottom, and very shallow water were disappointing. Loud music from boats near the beach took away from the otherwise peaceful feel of the park. Also part of the beach is private property.

Awesome celebration with my son after his graduation. Called, staff accommodated our request. Danny, our entertainment ambassador (server) was awesome. She made our experience on for the memory books. I can not expressed my feelings of joy that she brought to ourcelebration. Engaging, knowledgeable and what a smile and attitude. I would marry this girl. Thanks again, if ever in California, look me up Danny so I can return a memorable experience to you. Merry Christmas

Good food. Getting our food was a little slow but we did walk in right as they opened. Meatballs, crab cakes, and grilled cheese/tomato bisque combo - all good. Truffle fries were the best!
Tara B — Google review
We saw this restaurant on the PBS show Under the Radar and since we were in the area decided to give it a go. We weren’t disappointed. Amazing food, charming atmosphere, and great service. I had the prime rib sandwich and it far exceeded my expectations. It was sized just right, seasoned perfectly, on tasty grilled sourdough. I substituted regular cheddar for the horseradish cheddar, not being a horseradish fan. The au jus was beefy and savory without being too salty, a common problem with au jus. I also ordered a side salad for a dollar more. It was huge! Unlike most restaurants it was filled with mixed greens and veggies instead of the usual romaine. My husband ordered the CBT wrap, which had crispy chicken, bacon and tomato. It was hot and fresh and very flavorful. His fries were light and crispy and delicious. Our server was cheerful and fun, and did a great job. Wonderful experience, don’t hesitate to visit.

Have always loved Old City Hall. This has always been a special occasion dinner spot for my Family. More recently though, I’ve started dropping by for lunch, or stopping in to hang out with friends and networking. They’ve made some awesome changes recently and Chef Rich is amazing! They also have live piano music now on the weekends which adds such a great atmosphere for an evening at OCH!

Old City Hall offered us great service! Our wait staff was quick, kind and gave excellent recommendations for appetizers, entrees and wine pairings. Vegetarian dishes were clearly marked. The food came quickly and was very well made. The salmon dish was fresh and cooked well. The grilled cheese was flavorful with a variety of cheeses and fresh bread. The tomato soup served with the grilled cheese was creamy and delicious. We made a reservation online for a Saturday night and we're glad we did because it was quite busy. I definitely recommend Old City Hall for a meal that is a bit more upscale without outrageous costs or an intimidating atmosphere!

A few days ago, a friend and I dined in hoping to enjoy a relaxing meal with one another, but my experience fell far short of expectations. From the moment we walked in, a series of issues made it clear this would not be the pleasant experience we had anticipated. The problems began with the food and ended with one empty stomach. I kind of hoped that the food would compensate for the inattentive service, but it did not. After receiving our food, I realized that mine was cold and asked for it to be warmed (no big deal-or so I thought). Once I got my food back, it had already been too long and my friend had finished her meal. At this point, the food did not look appealing at all and didn’t seem like it had even been warmed. We decided to leave and stop while we were ahead. We were disappointed with having our first experience here be a bad one. The atmosphere and cleanliness of the place were just horrible. We unfortunately will not be returning.

If I could give less than 1 star, I would . The whole experience, from the food to the service, was horrible. I ordered a grilled cheese, and it was absolutely horrible and appeared to have maybe a 1/2 piece of cheese on it. The fries were not cooked long enough. It was supposed to also come with tomato bisque soup, which I never got. My husband’s jambalaya was super dry and lacked any luster. The service was even worse! Casey D came and took our drink order and delivered our drinks. We asked for a few minutes to go over the menu. 20 mins later, she reappeared to finally take our dinner order. We waited what was an acceptable time for our food, and she delivered our food and asked if we needed anything. We were given what was asked for, and from there, she just disappeared. All of our drinks ran dry, and then our water ran dry also. Not a single one of us was offered a drink refill until we were offered dessert and to-go boxes, but by that time, we had finished our lack luster meal and had no interest in anything she had to offer. We just wanted our bill and to get out of there. We asked for the bills, and she put everyone on one bill without even asking how bills were being done and proceeded to hand it to my husband. How do you just assume everyone is on one bill when we said no to dessert and we were ready to check out? We left the bill sitting ready for pickup, and it finally took her another 20 mins to come pick it back up. Yes, I know it was a Saturday evening, but they were not busy, and there were 2 other tables receiving wonderful service from 1 other waitress. We will NEVER eat here again

Kasidy was awesome The General Manager Ismael personally came over to check on us to see if everything was good. I highly recommend everyone to try this place out. It's located in downtown Bay City, seating with a view of the river. My very best friend Madonna would enjoy visiting this place. Hopefully, we'll see you again soon

My husband I come here for our anniversary every year and this was the BEST service we have had! (Never had bad service but our server, Chris, went above and beyond and she was very kind and attentive!) The food was amazing, as always. Highly recommend and will be returning again for our annual celebration! 🥳

Let me just start by saying the food here is excellent and I would reorder any of the dishes we had. That said, the reason I would return again without hesitation is because the unparalleled service we received during our visit. Without going into too many details let’s just say we were traveling with very demanding, stubborn elderly folks. Our waitress did nothing but smile and accommodate them through it all and apologized for things that were out of her control. I don’t know how she maintained her composure and patience but she deserved a big raise or an Employee of the Week recognition of some sort!

Great place for Happy Hour! Beautiful view sitting at the outdoors bar. The smoked whitefish dip was excellent and a great portion size as a "shareable." The walleye bites were great tasting but tiny. It was three bite size pieces. I felt it was too for the cost. The cocktails were good as well. The restrooms were very clean. The bartender was attentive and friendly. Overall great experience!

You want REAL Seafood? My crab cakes were awesome! The Clam chowder was so good that I slurped my soup! Highly recommended. I would love to go back and try everything!

Nice restaurant, service was pretty good, food was a one star. Hubby's fish was like a frozen fried fish patty. My scallops were served in a pond of thick sickening sweet syrup, you couldn't even taste the scallops. The baby broccoli served with it was nothing but thick stems. The pureed sweet potatoes listed on the menu were tiny tiny diced pieces, about 10 of them, we would not go back.
Elizabeth L — Google review
Ate here as part of a sales marketing campaign. I was surprised that the service and quality of food was top notch. Not expecting such great food in these venues. Will definitely consider coming back here on our own to try other options on their menu.

My wife and I had the pleasure of dining here tonight. Expect top of the line wait staff and food that really sells. Here's my take: steak meat...chef knows PERFECTLY how to cook it. Why? Because he cooks seafood all of the time. Of course he is expert at cooking steaks!!! Wife had lobster/filet. Lobster: 10!!! Filet mignon, 6. Poor cuts of beef but expertly cooked. Bonus...Gazpacho!!!!! The best ever.

We just moved to town and this is one of our favorite spots! We have been in to eat and drink several times. I love the popcorn and the bowls. Food is really good. Chris has been our bartender and he makes it an extremely enjoyable experience. We have playful banter and he lets us sample whatever new is on tap. Lots of choices that we truly appreciate. And he will never forget my name! Thanks, Chris, look forward to seeing you again soon.

We stopped in for a quick bite during happy hour. They had a special on flatbread. Unfortunately they refused to honor it even though all their table signs said 5 pm. As you can see from the pictures it was a little after 4 pm. Talk about false advertising. I’ll be avoiding them in the future. 8/10 - Feel free to check my bill, you DID NOT discount them at half off, I was charged the full price!. You should also update all the table cards (Picture attached) it clearly states 1/2 off on Wednesday. No changing my review to 1*

We went to Bay city for some work and I found this place because they had Gluten Free options for my husband. Their GF flat bread was good, good fries and the burger was ok, not like I wanted it but it was tasty. They do have options for vegetarians. I would come back to try more things.

Wow, this was pretty awesome tonight. Came in on a Tuesday and they had 1/2 off flights, the choices of beer were outstanding allowing me to sample several new brews. Despite recommendations for burgers and flatbreads, the Hibachi Bowl caught my eye. It came out quickly and was absolutely fantastic, one of the best dishes I’ve had traveling around lately. On top of that, place was clean and the people friendly. I don’t get up to Bay City often, but I will be back here for sure!

We wanted to say thank you so much for having our baseball group last night. We greatly appreciate the fact that you could make a reservation with such short notice and give us a nice patio spot! The hostess and waitress were lovely. We had a few birthdays in our group and they also accommodated that. The food was also quite tasty. Thank you so much for a wonderful night. We hope we are back in the great town of Bay City soon so we can see you again!

Service was great but our chicken nachos were cold and nothing special. They did take them off our bill. Fried green beans were the best of everything ordered. Tried my wife’s smash burger which was good but not $14 good. Good service, okay food, WAY overpriced.

The outside seating was spacious, the waitstaff was excellent (congenial, engaging and remained professional), the overall beverage selection was very impressive, especially the beer selection! Everyone in our party of 7 said their food was delicious. The view of the water and the sunset during dinner topped the night off. Kudos Tavern 101, thank you for a great evening.

Latitude 43 is a laid-back restaurant and bar that serves classic American dishes and has a full bar with draft beer. Located in Bay City, Michigan, it offers a casual dining experience with a diverse menu. Visitors can enjoy favorites like ribeye steak cooked to perfection and delicious fried pickles. The restaurant's attentive staff ensures that guests have an enjoyable dining experience, making it a popular choice for locals and visitors alike.
I was in town by myself for an event and found them through search as they were close to the hotel I was staying at. It's always encouraging when you pull in to see a full parking lot. It was about 8:00 on a Friday night, I was greeted and sat right away. The service was appropriately paced and very pleasant. I had one of the local brews, the ribeye steak, and a Caesar salad. I finished it with a brownie sundae 😋 . All very good and reasonably priced. I'm planning to visit again when I come back in February.

Our first visit to Lattitude 43. We arrived around d 5:30 and the parking lot was full. A good sign, knowing that lots of people are eating here. We were seated right away and shortly after ordering, our food arrived. I had the Cod Dinner with a Caesar Salad, Redskin Potatoes and a dinner roll. My husband had the Chicken Parmigiano sandwich with in-house made kettle chips. Nice size portions and everything was delicious! Service was top-notch, fast and friendly. We will be eating here again. Just as a side note, I texted the restaurant to find out the story behind their name. A quick response from the owner said that Bay City sits on the 43rd Latitude. 🌎🌐 Great reason for the name.

This restaurant has the best customer service of any restaurant in Bay City, in my opinion. The service is always superior. I have never had to ask for anything, they are always quick to refill and to offer sauces, etc.. our server, Toni was amazing. Bubbly personality and very efficient. Our meal on this occasion was a little unexpected. The vegetable stirfry special was served with an abundance of sauce, which overpowered the dish and the rice was undercooked. The other meals ordered at our table were superior.

Kind of dark interior with a slightly upscale feel. Full bar. Surprisingly busy for 4:30 on a Wednesday. Family friendly. Food came out quickly, after a reasonable wait. (Good service system. 10oz ribeye was buttery smooth, and burger was hot and flavorful on a grilled brioche bun. Brownie sundae was an excellent cap for dinner. Cost for 2 drinks, 2dinners,21 appetizer,1 dessert -$70 before tip. A bit pricey, but still a fair value for the price
Sean B — Google review
Tonight was our first visit, we felt we had to try it because the parking lot is always full 6 days a week. We figured we needed to go early and when we arrived at 4:45pm and the had about 90% of capacity. Now on to the review, the hostess is a charming young lady and very polite while taking in my rather dry humor. It's a clean establishment and the staff are remarkable, didn't show any stress about how busy it was. Our server was Ashleigh, let me say this about this girl I have been in Bay City for 3 years as have eaten at many of the restaurant this city has to offer and she is the best in town. Thanks Ashleigh (the couple that ordered for the dog). From the time we walked in to the time we walked out service was great our steaks were prepared with excellence. We Will be back, the wonderment is gone but we have a new best restaurant. There is only 2 things that would be if a small, tiny issue. The first is something that not be fixed as it was during happy hour and I have hearing problems the typical and a little close quarter seating it was hard to hear my wife. The second one was our steaks were ready to be brought out but the fries were not done yet. Ashleigh explained and apologized. This was not an issue because of the appetizers, salad, only half of my steak I couldn't eat another bite. Took a lot of food home the amount of the servings is a little big for us we will know next time. But our fur baby loved everything. Great to all compliments to the chef and crew and to all the front of the house, keep up the great work that your doing.

Latitude 43 is one of our favorite spots! The owner, Ray, goes above and beyond to make every guest feel welcome, and his passion for the restaurant truly shows. The bartenders, Marty and Ashley, are incredible! They’re friendly, attentive, and always serving up the best drinks. The entire staff is just as amazing, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere every time I visit. And the food? Absolutely delicious, and consistently top-notch. If you haven’t been to Latitude 43 yet, you’re missing out on one of the best dining experiences around!

Uptown Grill in Bay City, MI is a popular spot for American comfort food. The restaurant offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere with various seating options including tables, booths, and a bar. During the summer, guests can enjoy patio seating with views of the Saginaw River. Furry friends are welcome at outdoor tables.
A local family suggested this place for breakfast to my group and I'm glad they did. I was absolutely blown away by how delicious the banana bread French toast was. I also got to try the brisket breakfast taco which was great, but the French toast stole the show. It's a smaller restaurant so my group of 4 had a 30min wait before being seated. The waitresses were great but seemed like they all had their hands full and were doing their best with the massive workload they had.

My wife and I visited this weekend on our way to Traverse City. The ambiance was pleasant and enjoyable. The food was tasty, with good portion sizes and reasonable prices. The service was excellent. I wish we lived closer to Bay City as I am certain we would be visiting regularly. Thanks for the great experience!
Jason U — Google review
Uptown Grill in Bay City is a culinary gem worth exploring. Their brisket tacos were an absolute delight - a flavorful combination of tender meat, eggs and a touch of chipotle that left me wanting more. My spouse's blueberry bread french toast was equally impressive, the sweetness of the bread perfectly balanced by the tart berry sauce. The overall ambiance and quality of the food definitely warrant a high recommendation. However, the service was disappointingly slow. Our brunch outing stretched beyond 90 minutes, which felt excessive. While the wait was mitigated by the delicious food, a faster turnaround time would enhance the dining experience considerably. If you're looking for a memorable meal, Uptown Grill delivers on taste and quality. Just be prepared to settle in for a leisurely brunch.

Great vibe, friendly staff, and freshly made food! Everything seemed homemade and cooked to order. The price wasn't bad for what we got. We had the banana French toast, Greek omelet, and philly chicken sub. We highly recommend the first two. The chicken was dry in the sandwich, but the homemade chips and homemade bread that came with it were great.

Uptown Grill delivers delicious breakfast and lunch fare with a smile! Our waitress Jenny kept our drinks filled and offered excellent advice. My wife enjoyed the cinnamon swirl French toast with a generous side of bacon, while I delighted in the "Not Your Everyday Grilled Cheese" with wonderfully seasoned house made chips. Absolutely a great breakfast lunch spot--we will be back! If you find this review helpful, please give it a thumbs up--Thanks!

Birthday dinner on a Tuesday night 6pm was seated right away. Waitress brought drinks out promptly and kept our glasses refilled without having to ask. Ordered the salmon vegetables and sweet potato fries, grilled chicken wrap with sweet potato fries, and a Philly cheese steak with sweet potato fries. Portions were perfect, did not wait long for food to come out. Flavors were delicious! Had an extensive menu. Loved the whole page of vegan options. Will be back again. Great experience, great atmosphere, great food!

Feels like you are part of an interesting time. Food was delicious. Service was great. Atmosphere - if you enjoyed The Great Gatsby, then it is a must visit! Sweet potatoe fries were amazing. They make them on site as well as the potatoe chips. The Works burger was delicious.

A server at another place told us the Bruschetta was her favorite. What we got was bad Focaccia at best. My Old Fashioned cocktail was watery and the orange “twist” was a slice of orange. We had planned on eating dinner here, but the preamble was so disappointing we decided to go elsewhere. Server was attentive, but failed to notice our unfinished drinks and mostly untouched appetizer.
Matt W — Google review
Very good old vibe to this bar restaurant. Walking distance to beautiful attractions. I had the crab cakes. Unfortunately they were mushy and more cake than crab? Great atmosphere and great service.
Unk D — Google review
A small quaint little restraunt in downtown Bay City. The sirloin steak was what you'd expect for $20. Ok, but not great. It was cooked as ordered. The key largo chicken dish was very good. The "old fashioned" drink was too sweet, but the bartender adjusted the amount of simple syrup for a great improvement for the second round.

What a hidden gem of a steak house. Put this on your list of great restaurants in Bay City Michigan. My steak was delicious and tender and juicy. Service was excellent 👌👍.

My girlfriend and I stopped here about 3 times. Once for dinner. The food was great, the atmosphere was very cool. We're definitely bringing family and friends back here to check it out. The cool part is that the food is much better than Applebee's by a long shot, but it is way more affordable than Applebee's by far but is much better. Can't say enough about how cool the place is.
Johnny M — Google review
Gatsby's is a Bay City gem. The restaurant offers vegan fare in a region where that's hard to come by. The vegan fish sandwich and vegan gyro are some of my favorites on the vegan menu, but you really can't go wrong with the other vegan options. Portions are excellent, and prices are absolutely fair. It's cozy but a little on the “needs a quick wipe down” side. The service is friendly and fast. For anyone looking to grab a bite with vegan and non-vegan friends or family, Gatsby’s is perfect. It’s got something for everyone. It’s in a great downtown location, so it’s easy to swing by if you're out and about. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area!

Great wait staff, amazing food kinda chilly in there but, they had some good hot noodle soup wasn't much chicken. Their pierogies were very delicious, mashed potatoes, liver and onions. Of course I'm polish so it was the best for a buffet.

The polish buffet was great. I didn't like the krut And sausage or whatever it was. but everything else was good. The Fish and the bell pepper meat loaf were my favorites 😋 my server was great as well. Update, i ended up getting food poisoning That same day. I still believe it was that krut and sausage stuff but it could have been something else there. I had to bring my score down but i didn't too much. The more i think about it make me want to give 3 stars, but i believe in second chances

I went there with a party of four and we did not bother ordering anything off the menu. The reason is simple. The buffet is fantastic! This place has been in the area for a while. It is some really good food. And if it you are Polish.. You're in for a treat. They serve pigs in the blanket.. they were pretty good,
Joseph U — Google review
This restaurant is a great place to grab authentic and homemade polish food. I went for lunch with a friend, and had the buffet, the sauerkraut and sausage was delicious highly recommend! The chicken, and fish was also homemade breaded, and was very good. I will definitely be going here again, I highly recommend this place!

Highly recommend their "Point Root Beer". The food is also amazing. The BLT my Mom ordered was huge and the fries were crispy and seasoned well. They have a gift shop where you can buy "Point Root Beer" and various other treats. The Sunday Polish buffet was delicious and tasted very authentic. Will come here again when I'm in Bay City. Areas of improvement for the restaurant: - Labels for the buffet items. The salad bar had labels, but the hot food didn't. - Walls and ceilings need cleaning. There was a particularly gross looking light switch next to our table. - Service needs improvement. The waitress forgot about our table, so my mom had to wait 20 minutes to order her food (me and my dad had the buffet). The waitress didn't bring us a menu until after we got our drinks which unnecessarily increased the wait time for my Mom to order. - The buffet items are messy, but we only had one napkin per person for the entire visit. The extra wait soured the experience for my Mom, but she enjoyed her giant BLT and fries. I still rate the restaurant 5 stars because the above issues can be easily fixed with extra training and procedures. I hope the owner sees this and makes some logistical adjustments to help improve the customer experience. My suggestions: - Extra napkin alongside silverware when the customer sits down. Could also consider a napkin dispenser at the table. - Monthly wall and ceiling cleaning. Possibly replace dirty and worn down light switches. - Laminated printed cards with food names and ingredients. Allows for easy swapping for the different styles of buffets. You can have blank laminated cards that you can use dry-erase markers on to write on for special one-off buffet items. - Menu holder at each table or train staff to always bring a menu with the placemats/silverware.

We ordered the white pizza, garlic knots, Cesar salad, and the Alfredo pasta with shrimp and mushrooms. The food was so good! I really enjoyed the creamy pesto and ranch. We asked the locals what pizza they prefer, and the majority said Brooklyn Boyz. The locals didn't disappoint, this was a great experience! I highly recommend the lasagna matta, it is pure comfort food. The price was super reasonable for a family of four. Very chill atmosphere, and close to a lot of downtown points of interest. Thanks for the great meal!

WOW! We loved our pizza and especially the salad that we got. The options were varied, including pasta, sandwiches, and pizza - but we were in the mood for pizza. We started with the incredible Italian salad, it had so many delicious treats - red peppers, salami, cheese, cucumbers, etc. etc. etc. Every bite was a wonder! I couldn't stop taking photos of it. The pizzas were also delicious - we got the white pizza and chicken barbecue. They were both piping hot with amazing, chewy, and flavorful crusts. We both ate until we were full and enjoyed the leftovers in the following days. The ambiance was lovely too - our waitress spent time with us at just the right amount, never hovering but always available when we needed her. The decor was fun and felt American-Italian, which only added to the experience. Can't wait to keep supporting this business.

Tried the traditional pizza at Brooklyn Boyz and loved the crust flavor, but the center dough was a little undercooked. Garlic knots and fried mushrooms were great starters. Service was fine but could have been more attentive. I'd go back, but it wouldn’t be my first choice.

Amazing food AND service!! The spinach artichoke dip was probably the best I've had in my life. The drinks were great. Pizza was great. Awesome, chill atmosphere and very welcoming. Our server Aaliyah was SO nice and helpful for us newcomers. 100/10 would recommend!

Highly recommend eating here. The food is fantastic. My family specifically loves their Calzones and Garlic Knots. Last time we were there, the restaurant was short-staffed and in seriously short order brought in more wait staff and we were seated quickly. Hard to get better service than that. The manager even stopped by to make sure we had a great experience.

The ricotta in the calzone, the perfect sauce, the obviously fresh ingredients, the pizza cooked to perfection…it was all amazing! I can’t believe we haven’t visited before but will be back! Service was on point (I’m a restaurant mgr so can be quite observant lol). The place was alive and hopping, and food and service were 5 star plus!

Pizza restaurant
D'Angelo's is a delightful counter-service eatery nestled in Bay City, where culinary creativity meets comfort food. This charming pizzeria offers an impressive array of specialty pizzas crafted by the talented Chef David Baranowski, alongside classic favorites like pepperoni. But that's not all—D'Angelo's also serves up mouthwatering wings and burgers that are sure to satisfy any craving.
This place is sooo good! I’ve been vegan for 5+ years and finding a good vegan place to eat is usually a struggle. Not here! Each time I’ve had it, not only is the food absolutely delicious but they are SO nice. Plus, I got the new vegan super mac pizza and they put on the lettuce & the sauce when I got there so it wouldn’t be soggy- not many places would do that. Definitely check them out if you’re in the Bay City area for a great experience all around :)

Amazing food! Pizza is top tier and the burgers are mouth watering. The staff is always nice on the phone and very friendly in person. Great place!
Gabe W — Google review
Good and inventive pizza and burgers, though everything feels a few dollars too expensive for takeout in my experience. Front of shop staff is considerate - though the big Tim Pool branded merch in the lobby really kills any good vibe the place may otherwise have.
Thomas H — Google review
Used to love this place defended it more then once but unfortunately ive no been getting the bad service I hear about first they didn't make one of the pizzas I ordered get that mistakes happen but on top of not making the pizza, the one I did get is not as ordered. When driving an hour on your birthday to be let down hope for better in the future

We don’t make it to Bay City often, but when we do, we get D’angelo’s. Love the great vegan food. Everything (vegan wings, vegan pizza, vegan fishless tacos) is excellent. A really special place with great chef.
Ben M — Google review
was so excited to find vegan options in Bay City! it's hard to come by, so we were surprised by how many options they had! hard to choose what to get. Our food was amazing <3
Kylie A — Google review
They do food great here. I didn't try the pizza when I was in the area but did think the chicken parm was great.
Long O — Google review
The food was only okay. The spinach on the voodoo pizza tasted like frozen. Biggest reason for the low rating is the price. $91 for two pizzas, a calzone, and breadsticks. We're from out of town, an area with super high cost of living and don't get charged that much at our local, non-chain places. Our mistake was ordering a specialty pizza because each topping is $3.50-4.50. Completely ridiculous.

Restaurant
Prost Wine Bar & Charcuterie has two locations, one in Uptown Bay City and the other in Frankenmuth. It offers a delightful selection of wines by the glass and small plate pairings. Customers have raved about the delicious food, including the chicken Parm sandwich and kids' meat and cheese board. The atmosphere is described as amazing with comfortable outdoor seating, while the service is praised for being knowledgeable and friendly.
Wow! This was the most delicious dinner entree I’ve had in a restaurant (hubby is an excellent cook) in as long as I can remember!!! Chicken with mushroom risotto- Hubby and I split it and probably best that we did because it is rich, but it is SO SO SO good!!!! They split it beautifully for us💜 I wish I could remember the name of our wonderful server, she told us that when it was first on the menu in February it was temporary and she ate it every single day. Had to try it after that, and SO GLAD WE DID! Great recommendation! The brussel sprouts were really good, too!! Dogs are permitted on the pretty outdoor space, and they had fun live music! It was a wonderful birthday dinner. They even had an excellent Wine Wednesday deal! We enjoyed a nice bottle with the quality charcuterie. Couldn’t have asked for a better evening ❤️

Super chic atmosphere with a variety of seating arrangements for different sized parties. Make sure that you make a reservation if visiting on the weekend. There was only countertop space available for those without a reservation. The drinks were tasty - it was nice having wine that was "on-tap", every glass was perfectly chilled. All of the appetizers were tasty and the main courses as well. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. Can't wait to come back in the summer!

My wife and I were there to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary and had a fantastic time! The food and drinks were so good and the service was great. We're from the west Michigan area, but if we're ever back that way, we'll be back!

So, if you need a really light and tasty meal on your trip north or south near Bay City, this is the place. Great food. Well prepared. Just right. Wine is perfect. Excellent service. I’m extremely fussy. In a good way? First time we’ve eaten here. I had The duck breast. Uh huh. Oh, and great music. Really nice speakers.
Walter B — Google review
We had a really great time here. I had an Old Fashioned and a Closing Argument and both were excellent. I had the Biscuits and Gravy and my wife had a Benedict of some sort. Everything was delicious and we really enjoyed our time. Our waiter was very pleasant and friendly. He answered all our questions and took good care of us while we were there. We will definitely be back. Totally worth the drive up.

Very chic and hospitable restaurant. Staff were very helpful in getting our party seated and getting our orders in, even though we arrived 3 minuets before food stopped being served! Everything was delicious, even my kale salad, which I expected to be underwhelming. But it was actually really good! The non-alcoholic drinks were fun as well. Always a nice space for a night time dinner

So stoked they opened a Bay City location! We love Frankenmuth equally! Same great menu, atmosphere, and service. The food is delicious and we recommend the rum old fashioned! A bit off the beaten path. Super nice patio and a quiet location with ample parking.

This establishment is super nice. Amazing atmosphere. Our server Jimmy was a super cutie and very knowledgeable. The food was absolutely Delicious! The Expresso Martini is so tasty! The bloody Mary filled with flavor! Go for the spicy! The chorizo hash reminded me of Puerto Rico, the flavor is delectable. Also tasted the Biscuits and Benedict eggs, absolutely wonderful! And the Caesar salad with chicken, the chicken was perfect, moist. The dressing was light in flavor not overpowering. A wonderful experience!!

MBS International Airport

International airport
Airport
This airport is a small one but definitely big in convenience. They offer similar services to the bigger airports. Friendly staff, organized TSA/ security, comfortable atmosphere, snacks, vending /pop machines, luggage carts, snack bar, and so much more. The access is easy, parking plentiful, rental cars, and two big airlines - Delta and United provide service!
Rita L — Google review
Several years ago, I started commuting from Northern Michigan (flying to client locations around the U.S.) and MBS International Airport has become my airport of choice. The staff (ticket agents, gate agents, TSA, vendors and others) set the standard for friendly, courteous and professional people. I wish I could clone them and they could work at all of the airports where I fly. This is a clean and efficiently-operated airport. I can't say enough good things about it.
Rocky F — Google review
No ground transportation after 5pm. Car rental closes at 5. You may spend night at airport if you do not have prearranged pickup. UBER limited to none. Nice small airport otherwise.
Robert F — Google review
I worked at MBS 25 years ago and just recently flew in there for the first time. The airport has been beautifully upgraded and is absolutely adorable. We will definitely fly thru MBS again in the future.
Mike C — Google review
This is a small but cosi airport with everything a traveler needs.
D E — Google review
Love this airport, great staff, I never ever had a line at TSA and I've flown out of here probably 20 times. I take it to DTW so I can drive 40 minutes instead of 3 hours. I only had a problem with connections once, and that was when those planes caught fire in Atlanta.
Brittany S — Google review
I've been flying in and out of MBS (and DTW and Bishop) my whole life. Pros are that it's a small airport with a friendly staff and no security lines. It's actually pretty funny to have TSA Precheck here because it's just you in the line holding your little Precheck pass, but at least you don't have to take your shoes off! Since the remodel, the airport feels more light and spacious, and the water is no longer well water 🙌🏻. There's no traffic to get there and it's less than 20 minutes for my dad to come pick me up. The cons are, unfortunately, pretty major, though you didn't have a lot of choice in mid Michigan. - Only 2 airlines fly in and out: United, aka The Worst Major Airline, and Delta, aka The Major Airline with the Worst Schedule. I much, much prefer Delta, but since I live on the West Coast, there's usually only one option a day for me via Delta, and it's almost always the worst possible timing. So I end up with United, which is a little cheaper and will fly you in the absolute oldest, most rickety-feeling plane they can legally operate, with approximately 2 inches of legroom and about a 5 minute layover at O'Hare to sprint across 3 terminals and either miss your connection or be just on time to sit on the tarmac for an hour. The other problem is delays. At any other airport, I recommend the time tested travel advice to take the earliest possible flight so you are the least likely to be delayed. At MBS, however, you should leave whenever you feel like it and just make sure you have an extra long layover at your connecting airport. You'll need it, because even though MBS is a small airport with few flights and should, by all laws of man and nature, be able to board flights quickly, that unfortunately is not the case. I truly have no idea what is going on, but it takes longer to board the tiny puddle jumpers that fly out of MBS then any large international airliner I've ever flown. Then you have to be prepared for the inevitable delay. It doesn't matter what time of day or year you fly, for some reason, every single United flight out of MBS seems to sit on the tarmac for at least a half hour to 45 minutes, sometimes more. Inevitably there are some sort of excuse about "weather" or something, even if there's not a cloud in the sky. I usually fly out of PDX, and even though it rains 9 months out of the year here, I rarely had a flight delay out of a much bigger airport. But United out of MBS is delayed almost every time. I would pay just about any amount of money for a direct flight from my home to my hometown, but unfortunately that is unlikely to happen, and I'm stuck flying out of MBS or Bishop, or renting a car and driving up from Detroit. Detroit. Honestly, if it were significantly cheaper I would fly out of Flint every time, given that it's only an hour drive and I've had much better luck actually getting my flight off the ground there, but most of the time the price is negligible for the extra drive and having to deal with traffic. I should also mention that the snack bar isn't always open if you leave early in the morning, and if they are, be ready for some seriously burnt coffee and no alternative milks.
Rachel S — Google review
A nice comfortable airport to fly out of the tri cities. If you fly through here you're probably going through either United for a Chicago layover/destination or Delta for a Detroit layover/destination. The price to leave our car here over a long trip was reasonable. It's also nice that you don't need to worry about traffic as it's a small airport. If you fly out of Flint or Detroit, you'll save a bit on your ticket, but probably spend a similar amount in gas. And then you'll have the headaches of driving into and finding your way through a bigger airport. But at the same time it will limit your options more on which flights you can take if you go through a small airport like this. Often your best bet is to see if there is a good option flying out of MBS first. Then seeing what Flint or Detroit has if not.

Capital Region International Airport

International airport
Airport
Capital Region International Airport, situated in Lansing, Michigan, is a public airport managed by the Capital Region Airport Authority. It's conveniently located just 5 miles southwest of downtown Lansing. The airport offers a smooth and efficient check-in process and various amenities such as a smoothie bar with an array of food and beverage options. Additionally, there's a unique feature where travelers can select and print short stories to read while waiting for their flights.
Reserved flight through Delta Sky Miles credit card. It said one free bag per person for the flight. When I checked in at the desk, they still wanted me to pay $35 per bag. I was surprised and disappointed. Luckily, the customer service representative was able to help me resolve the issue, and I'm satisfied now. Just be sure to have the credit card on you if you book this way. Thank you for the great customer service from Delta. It was my first time flying out of this airport. It is smaller and simple to get around. I didn't experience any big lines like other airports have. Got right through. Long-term parking is $12 dollars a day. They offer short-term parking for a day or less at $15 max daily. Keep up the great work here.

Almost a perfect experience this trip! The staff at Capital City Airport were kind and accommodating, especially during TSA screening — they treated my son, who uses a wheelchair, with care and respect, which helped ease my mind before his flight. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the parking system. I wasn’t aware that tap-to-pay isn’t accepted when exiting short-term parking — a physical card is required. Had I known in advance, I would’ve been better prepared. Still, a smooth and stress-free visit overall!
Alycia J — Google review
I love this airport but I'm kinda shocked no one talks about TSA hours? They close very early compared to larger airports. I think 4:30pm or 5pm. Ask me how I know -.- otherwise great. Could the account owner confirm the hours for us? And maybe put them on your website!

Alamo Rental Car at this location. Rent from here if you want your Card charged hundreds more than the rental agreement. The car we booked (Luxury sedan) was not available and they offered us a different option(SUV). We accepted, only to be told that car wasn't exactly ready. If we agreed to take the car as is, (Dirty, not cleaned from return) we were told they would comp us for the fuel fill up. When I questioned this, she clarified, "return it empty free of charge". She also stated Alamo gives Spouses free driving privileges. ( I have verified this on the Alamo website) yet I was also charge for an additional driver. This is a service we did NOT request, nor did we use. I have attempted to contact them. No luck. Use any other car rental company.

It’s embarrassing that you have this as the airport in your capitol city. You are better off flying into Saginaw or any other airport in MI and driving because your flight will be delayed here. They also only operate one gate on the weekend so even though our plane is here, they can’t deplane and let us in because another plane is at the gate. On the plus side, Curtis the bartender is great and you will get to spend time with him while you are waiting for your flight.
Stephen N — Google review
I’d like to take a moment to recognize the outstanding service provided by the gate agent, Joshua F, during my recent travel experience. From the moment I arrived at the gate, he was welcoming, attentive, and highly professional. His calm demeanor and positive attitude truly made a difference, turning what can often be a stressful part of travel into a smooth and pleasant experience. This level of service is a credit to the airline and greatly appreciated.
Raymond E — Google review
This is a nice airport. I really like the smaller airports. Easy in and out. This one is very comfortable and easy to find where you need to go. The coffee shop is actually a Big B Coffee, that is great coffee. The bathrooms are very clean and well maintained. The TSA personnel are very easy to work with, even if they have a problem with your bag, they are very fast. We will fly in and out of here again.
B H — Google review
Decent airport. Staff is hit or miss. Checked baggage will take longer to arrive at the carousel than your flight here. They will pink tag your bags at your starting point to pick up on the jet bridge. Then Lansing will decide to send all bags to baggage claim and take 40 minutes to start getting the bags out. Waited 40 minutes for 8 bags to come out. Do not check your bags to this airport.

Bishop International Airport

International airport
Airport
This airport is conveniently located outside the city and is an easy in and out. Security wasn't too busy and everyone was polite and nice. It's not a huge airport, so not lots of food options but will choose this all-day long over crazy Detroit. Their ticket prices are usually pretty competitive with some good flight options
Arkansas M — Google review
This Airport continues to be a great place to fly in and out of. I’ve been coming here for almost ten years now. Great experience- TSA was friendly and helpful, easy drop off, long term parking, economy parking, snacks, gift shop filled with Michigan items - college and souvenirs. Clean restrooms, well cared for gate areas. Good signage. We look forward to our next trip out of Bishop International. Flint should be proud!
Rita L — Google review
What a great small airport. Everything is so close and easy to navigate. The TSA was friendly and smooth. Since it is small the food options are limited but they offer good food.
Rain L — Google review
A really nice airport. Clean everywhere and well-lit, easily navigated by those who have never been in before. Signs are big, well above the heads of the people walking around. The shuttle from the economy lot was stopped in front of the car before we had the luggage out. The wait to return to the lot was only a couple of minutes. If you have to fly (you have my sympathy) this is a good airport to use. One strong suggestion: Lose the speed bumps, we have enough things beating up our suspensions without adding to the damage.
Mark T — Google review
Bishop International Airport is a breeze! Super easy in and out with minimal wait times and convenient parking. The staff are friendly, helpful, and make the entire experience stress-free. One of the most pleasant airports I’ve traveled through—highly recommended!

I wasn't sure where to leave this review but I wanted to commend the great customer service we received. Brandy, at the baggage check in area for allegiant airlines, was so sweet and kind. She noticed my husband is a Veteran. She told us about the veterans benefits which includes free checked bags (we had already paid for them). She went out of her way to give us a flyer with the information and a number to call to see about getting a refund/ voucher for the bags we paid for. We've flown with allegiant several times and no one else took the time to explain these benefits to us. Brandy was so nice and actually looked like she enjoyed her job. This is by far the best experience I've ever had at an airport.

I dropped my sister off at this airport. The drive to the airport was an easy, very direct route. Signage is very good for getting to short/long term parking, the terminal and the exit. The grounds are absolutely lovely! It doesn’t look like you’re pulling up to an airport! And it’s very clean.

Great little airport with very friendly services and very little crowds. We breezed quickly though check in and security. Not a lot off amenities, but has everything you need. We did have a delay getting our baggage due to them being unable too get the baggage due to a storm in the area.
