Stadium
Sights & Landmarks
Surprise Stadium is a popular baseball park in Arizona, serving as the spring training ground for the Texas Rangers and Kansas City Royals. It's not just for sports fans, though - the stadium hosts various events throughout the year, including free family movie nights, Fourth of July fireworks and parades. With free parking available, visitors can enjoy good food and beer while taking in a game or event. The stadium has been recognized as the No.
Great stadium and clean. Plenty of parking and a great little park across the street with a pond great for also walking around. City has gotten lots of new eateries close by. We've always had great seats.
Fab G — Google review
It was somewhat of a good environment for a local spring training fan like myself, but could ask better! Not enough shade for a small stadium, seats are not really comfortable and is a tight squeeze, and the food was disappointing! Overall, I think this stadium should go under a renovation to draw more attention for fans, especially since Surprise Stadium is far out west!
Johnny H — Google review
Great experience and a well kept stadium! The field is very nice. There was lots of staff and cops directing traffic for parking and leaving which helps with the crowd control. The line moved quickly getting into the stadium. We sat behind home plate which was really nice. The food prices are a little outrageous for a spring training game. $11 for a corn dog? You need to bring a clear purse or bag if it’s larger than a clutch.
Karen N — Google review
Large concourse nice good stands. Prices are a little high for certain things. The teams stores lack big time. Not near as big as they should be. Great views on your seats. If you want to see your favorite players I suggest spending the extra money and getting a little closer to home plate. The out grass areas are wonderful and plenty of room if you have little ones to run around.
Joshua K — Google review
Always a pleasant venue to watch spring training baseball. The staff is friendly and helpful and parking is free. Easy to get in and out of the stadium too. Watched the Angels-Royals game and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
CB B — Google review
Came to watch the Rangers and the Cubs in Surprise for the 1st time. Great time and for any good spring training game get here an hour or more before 1st pitch to avoid traffic. It was a blast a recommend for any baseball fan to come check out a spring training game.
GooseTavo L — Google review
Went for dog night. My pup enjoyed his time there, staff was friendly we got a lot of compliments on his behavior. The concession lines were long and it’s a bummer that they don’t sell chicken and hot dogs in the same line. Wish they had more dog nights.
Amber G — Google review
Be sure to ask for Autographs Been promising my son that we’d come out for Spring Training for nearly ten years. We finally made it and have been pleasantly surprised. If you arrive a little early, there’s no traffic and free parking just across the street. Security with their metal detectors and bag checks (clear-bag rule in effect) were quick and efficient, and the electronic ticket-takers were all working smoothly, so entering the stadium took only moments. There is plenty of staff, who all seemed friendly and frequently asked how they could help. Surprise Stadium is small and intimate (like a minor league park), but is in tip-top shape, with everything bright, clean and in working-order. It has an excellent design to maximize the whole ball-park experience. The seats are all close to the action so don’t worry if you can’t get a seat in the front rows. It is small enough to get in close to the players for a chance at a photo or autograph. My son and I were able to persuade several “big-name” starters to sign our caps / gloves. We were lucky enough to get tickets close to the dugout and felt right in the middle of the action. We were right up close to all the starters and quite a few AAA hopefuls. Great ball park food - brats, dogs, fries, beer (cans and draught), fries, nachos, all at (typical) ball-park prices. Food and drink vendors are located in the shaded area just behind the seats. There are plenty of vendors so I was frequently first in line, and never waited more than 2-3 people. The cashless payment system was quick and easy. The bathrooms are conveniently placed with plenty of stalls / sinks for easy in and out. The new MLB rules sped up the pace of play, so the action never lagged. The final out was only 2-1/2 hours after first pitch. A great experience overall. It is in the bright Arizona sun, so bring sunscreen and a hat. Like a minor league game with major league players. We will be back!

Bowling alley
Uptown Alley is a massive entertainment complex that offers a variety of activities for groups of family and friends. With a 40-lane bowling alley, sports theater, laser tag, billiards room, and arcade games, there's something for everyone. The Red Embers Bar & Grill provides a diverse menu from tailgate fare to specialty salads and steaks. Bowling enthusiasts will find the 40 state-of-the-art lanes and great staff at Uptown Alley perfect for an enjoyable experience.
Checked out the new Uptown attractions with my sons. We did Lucky Putt and bought the "All You Can Play" package—$25 each, total $81.83. The first 9 holes were fun, no issues. On the second 9, my sons finished, but I couldn’t due to technical problems. Staff said it would be fixed, but it wasn’t, and our game ended early. Spoke with Manager Chris, who offered us a session on Limitless VR to make up for it. Stopped at Red Embers for a break and were seated immediately. Our server, Christian, was friendly, professional, and prompt—brought drinks, took our order quickly, and kept refills coming. Food was hot, tasty, and arrived quickly. Great service! Alex ran the VR and was very polite, helping my son adjust the headset properly. Limitless VR was the best we've tried—awesome experience! We’d definitely do it again. Got some play cards for video games afterward. Uptown Alley truly made things right and went above and beyond. Amazing staff and facility—we can’t wait to go back! Thank you; proud to be a Surprise native.

They have completed remodel game area!!! Looks great, added lots of new games for both kids and adults. Bowling is superb here spacious and clean! Enjoy live music and good times for all ages. They now have green screens for batting, long range and hockey. Multiple vr stations, and their lucky putt is roomy and easy to follow.

This place is pretty cool, it's up to date with great game selection. They have so many options here anywhere from bowling mini golf arcade VR games and crazy darts. They're open till midnight every night have a pretty good restaurant. The major setback is the price of all of the options. The food was good not great. But this is a place you're going to have to check out there are some deals throughout the week you might want to see. We did have fun and I do recommend this place.

This review is for the restaurant. The place is dead on Saturday at 835pm. We havent been acknowledged,no drinks orders nothing. Poor bartender she was the waitress and bartender. Management:what are you doing? The only reason I will return is because the mex burger was amazing! Lol

Uptown alley is a family favorite I come here a lot and it’s just a core memory for me and all of them, there’s many activities to do like bowling laser tag video games mini golf and a few smaller things, definitely come by if you can.
Daniel R — Google review
I used to always go here as a child, and now I am here once again for my vacation. We always come here every year we come to Arizona simply because it’s fun and it’s memorable.
Zachary R — Google review
A great place to spend a fun and entertained evening with your family. We were visiting from out of state and wanted to do an indoor activity that we would all enjoy as family. Uptown Alley was the perfect spot. They had some good deals on Bowling and arcade, we’re a family of five and the kids really enjoyed it. We also had some pizza and tacos, great service, clean restrooms, and options to play. The only recommendation is to have at least two staff members at the counter, we had to wait to get our bowling shoes because the nice girl was trying to help everyone as efficient as possible … we would definitely come back here when around the area!!
Julissa M — Google review
Went to a private event for work and it was great! Had a blast playing digital darts and virtual golf. They had a taco buffet and the food was tasty! Everything was clean with plenty of room to maneuver around other while they played.

Sports Complexes
Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex is a top-notch facility in Arizona, offering indoor recreational sports like tennis, racquetball, and table tennis. It hosts leagues, drop-in sessions, and professional exhibition matches. The complex is well-equipped for players of all ages and skill levels to enjoy tennis, racquetball, or pickleball. Known for its quality courts and hosting tournaments at local and national levels, it's highly regarded by the United States Tennis Association (USTA).
As a charter bus driver, I experienced the staff as being top notch. The facility was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The courts were well maintained. The traffic circle adjacent to the main entrance was tight for a full-sized motor coach, but navigable.
Graham B — Google review
The place is great and everything but they got a new computer system and it is somewhat terrible. It's good for players to sign up for things online and reserve courts, but the employees' version if the system is a complete mess. If you call in trying to reserve courts or anything it can take 20 minutes sometimes. I do recommend creating an account yourself and try to do as much as you can on their website instead of calling
Ash_theGamer17 — Google review
Great courts and staff. Always well maintained. World-class. If summer hours went to 9:30 that’d be 👌
Patrick H — Google review
I’m currently in Surprise, Arizona for Nationals, and while the facility itself is beautiful, my experience was extremely disappointing. I understand that no one can control the weather, but what can be controlled is urgency, communication, and professionalism. Saturday morning around 8:15 a.m., the rain had stopped, yet no one was working to dry the courts even though several staff members were present. By 9:30, my teammate and I decided to help by using a scraper and squeegee. A man then approached us in a rude and dismissive manner, took the equipment from us, and wouldn’t even let me speak. When I asked for his name, he refused to give it; the front desk later told me his name is Bill, the head of the facility. It was shocking to be treated that way, especially at a national-level event with teams from across the country. Only after that interaction did the staff finally begin drying the courts. A simple apology or acknowledgment would have gone a long way. Beautiful facilities lose their value when leadership lacks respect and basic courtesy.
Karel B — Google review
My home away from home! Amazing people, a great facility, inexpensive classes. Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex is absolutely great for anyone wanting to learn or just play.
Craig D — Google review
Great facility. Played USTA nationals here and courts were in excellent condition. Stadium court was very spacious with easy viewing for spectators.
Ron M — Google review
The complex has very nice courts and holds many tournaments both local and national. That seems to be their emphasis. If you already have partners to hit with, it's a nice place to go. If however you moved into the area and need to find hitting partners, good luck. The place is dead during the day. There are no daytime group lessons of any type and very limited adult program in the evenings. I sense no community at the facility. It's really too bad because this place could be amazing but it won't happen unless there is some effort to change things. One last thing, there are no public restrooms. It's the only club/complex I've ever been at and I've played all over the country lacking restrooms. If you're looking for a tennis community try Paseo Complex in Peoria.
K D — Google review
The courts are nice, with great lights for night play. However, even though it's public courts in a public park paid for by our tax dollars, it's not managed to serve the people. You have to pay to play, even as a Surprise resident, and everything else in the park is free; including pickleball. They won't allow you to come on the courts early for warmup. They blow a foghorn at you when it's 5 minutes until your time is up. If you stay 5 minutes past your scheduled session to finish your set, they'll charge each individual for another session...even when 20 out of the 24 courts are not being used and no one is waiting. If a spouse or friend wants to watch you play, they will be charged as well. You have to have an account with them with a card on file, because they do not accept payments in person. The place used to be filled with players and laughter. Now, there's not usually more than 4 courts being used at a time if that. People have chosen to play elsewhere.

With the addition of the South Course in 2000, this manicured golf course offers 36 holes of challenging play amidst stunning desert landscapes, complete with cacti and a waterfall. The club also features a pro shop and an on-site chain restaurant for post-game relaxation.
The course is beautiful, greens are excellent shape, golf and drink prices are excellent, staff was super friendly, bathrooms were stocked and clean, I really don't have anything negative to say about my experience here. Highly recommended.

EXPENSIVE! We are not residents yet so it was spendy. It was nice but u couldn't have 3 carts on the same fairway at the same time...makes no sense.. there were probably 80 carts throughout the morning with their senior shot gun start before our round and there will be 50 more after us but 3 carts at once is not allowed...I was just riding along and my husband hooked up with 3 other people. I stayed on the cart path as instructed while my husband had to walk at every hole.paid $104 to basically walk. Most ridiculous thing we have ever heard. The course Marshall made it clear...checking on us several times. It was pretty.
Sharon A — Google review
Played Granite Falls South..greens were in good shape..fairways were in good shape..but the ruff was really wet..just wish they wouldn't put so much water down when people are playing. It wasn't like the course needed it..the temperature was 52 degrees when we started and never got above 60 degrees.

Excellent experience from start to finish! The staff in the pro shop were very friendly, the course was in fantastic shape and the price was definitely worth it. If I come back to Surprise, this is where I'll be golfing!

Members are jerks, our group was accused of jumping holes and luckily, a ranger was coming up. Ranger looked at our tee time and confirmed we were good. Ranger took up the issue with the members group. Ranger said members feel entitled and can be aggressive. Just don’t need the hassle and won’t be back.

Mexican restaurant
Nestled in a somewhat hidden spot along the access road where the railroad meets Grand Avenue, Rio Mirage Café is a vibrant gem that beckons food lovers with its traditional Mexican fare. This family-owned restaurant has been delighting patrons for over two decades, offering an array of mouthwatering dishes like fajitas, enchiladas, and specialty burritos such as their famous carnitas topped with ranchero sauce.
We wish we would have found Rio Mirage years ago. This is not a typical Corporate Mexican Restaurant Chain that has fair to good food. This is a Family Operated Cafe who obviously takes great pride in providing Home Cooked Dishes. It brought back such sweet memories of Family Get Togethers. Dishes of family traditions, homemade tortillas, meats, cooked slow and nestled with spices, peppers, veggies and tended with love. We may live 2 hours west in the desert, but this is worth the drive to enjoy such a wonderful meal. The only regret; I should have picked up a Pint jar of the salsa sauce and the hot salsa sauce. Won't make that mistake again.
Dad K — Google review
Rio Mirage serves incredibly delicious meals. I had a cheese enchilada / ground beef taco combo with rice and beans. (Yeah I know. I'm not very adventurous.) It was fantastic. Their salsa is amazing. Deep, rich flavor without being overly spicy, and just thick enough to load up a chip. We also had queso blanco and it was outstanding. The service was attentive, friendly, and quick. And the atmosphere is very comfortable. It's a beautiful place. The only downside to Rio Mirage is that it can get very crowded, with a long wait. We tried to eat there around 4:30 PM, thinking we were early, but the lobby was so crammed that we gave up and left. We came back the next day for a late lunch around 1:30, and we got in immediately. It was quiet and peaceful during our meal. So timing is everything at Rio Mirage.
D K — Google review
Stopped in for lunch as I saw that their nachos were made with melted shredded cheese instead of a queso sauce. They were amazing. Service was super friendly from the moment we walked through the door. Definitely will be going back to try other things!

The real deal This was my first time here. Overall I was extremely satisfied. First off the restaurant was nice and clean . The themed decor was great. The Staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was very good and portion size was big. I recommend this place

This was our first time dining here. We decided to give it a shot after seeing the reviews and we’re so glad that we did! The food was absolutely delicious! I had the fajita trio and my hubby had the El Rico with steak. The steak was so tender and flavorful. The service was top notch as well. Toward the end of our meal our waiter went on break, but before he did he came and told us. His peers picked up from there without missing a beat. We’ve been to a lot of restaurants and we’ve rarely seen customer service this great. We’ve definitely found our new spot!

I wanted a special restaurant to celebrate a milestone birthday. Rio Mirage Cafe in Surprise checked all the boxes: Mexican food, family-owned, local, beautiful decor, and an abundance of great reviews. I made an advance reservation for our group of 12. On the big day, our group arrived and was seated quickly. Our server Ramon was excellent, providing attentive service without being intrusive. The menu had plenty of choices for adults as well as a few items for the kids. The food was excellent, nobody in our group had any complaints or issues. Thank you to the kitchen staff! While this was my first visit to Rio Mirage Cafe, it certainly won't be the last! Thank you for a great experience on our birthday celebration.

Lunch was wonderful! The food tasted great. We were able to get right in without waiting. We both ordered off the lunch menu. Perfect portion sizes for lunch. Our server was Josh. He is so friendly and happy. It is a nice change to see someone happy at their job. The next time we come to this place, we will definitely ask to sit in his section.

Irish restaurant
The Irish Wolfhound Restaurant & Pub is a spacious sports-themed venue that offers a taste of Ireland with its extensive menu and lively atmosphere. As you step inside, you'll be immersed in the genuine charm of traditional Irish decor, creating an authentic experience. The friendly staff ensures that your visit is enjoyable as they serve up delicious meals like mozzarella sticks, wings, burgers, salads, and more.
I stopped by for a quick drink and a snack. Wound up staying a bit longer than I expected because I was enjoying myself so much. I just got the chicken tenders and a Guinness/cider but it bit the spot. Even the curry sauce for the chicken was amazing. I’ve never had it before, but it was full of flavor without being spicy like I expect from curry. If you’re looking for a quiet joint, this may not be your place, but then, if you’re looking at an Irish Pub, you’re probably not looking for a quiet spot so…

Food went WAY downhill since last we went. Food was cold, steak was supposed to be med rare…but came extremely rare. Seafood was cold. This place used to be good. Hire better cooks. Just horrible. Everyone had issues with their food. Bummer. Waitress was nice…but she was embarrassed, you can tell. Still tipped her well.

I've been here several times and the food here is really good. We came on 8/1/25 a friday, I got the friday fish fry which is all you can eat and a appetizer of fried shrimp, my brother got a ruben which he said was really good and he ate it very quickly. The fish here is really really good, the only comparable was the fish I had in Saint Thomas. They brought extra once I finished eating the first batch. I was stuffed. My brother also had a Guiness. Only thing else is that I miss the old style of fries they had.

Bistro
Vogue Bistro is a stylish and modern restaurant that offers a fusion of New American cuisine with French influences. It has become a popular spot for date nights, offering stunning sunset views and a relaxed yet upscale atmosphere. The menu features a mix of French classics like foie gras and escargot alongside American favorites such as burgers and meatloaf. In addition to its delicious food, the restaurant also offers cooking classes and serves designer martinis named after fashion houses.
We celebrated our anniversary at Vogue Bistro, and it totally delivered that “fancy but not fussy” vibe. The night started strong with a silky Lobster Bisque that could’ve easily doubled as a cozy blanket — rich, smooth, and impossible to stop eating. For entrées, we went classic: the Chicken Cordon Bleu (basically the world’s most elegant stuffed chicken nugget — crispy outside, melty ham-and-cheese inside, total perfection) and the Duck Two Ways, which looked and tasted like something straight out of a French chef’s daydream. Both plates disappeared embarrassingly fast. Just when we thought we couldn’t eat another bite, our waiter surprised us with an Apple Tarte Tatin à la mode to celebrate our anniversary — warm, flaky, drizzled with caramel, and just the right amount of “wow, I’m definitely eating this even though I said I was full.” Service was on point, the atmosphere was romantic without being snooty, and the whole night felt like a little celebration wrapped in butter and good lighting. Pro tip: Get the soup, order something that sounds French, and always say yes to dessert — especially if they bring it out for free. 🥂

We dined here for lunch for the first time. Nice to find a non-chain restaurant. Nice atmosphere although a bit dark inside. We chose to eat outside, which was a nice space. Our server Kristen was phenomenal. We ordered the Vogue Burger 3.5/5, Salmon BLT 3.5/5, and Truffle Fries 4/5. We are not big fans of pretzel buns. Nice wine by glass choices.

Just here for a couple days visiting family, and decided to drop in for some dinner. Our server was Jason, and he was attentive and knowledgeable. Food was excellent, and we're already planning a second visit before we leave!
Kiley A — Google review
This was a phenomenal experience. The restaurant is small inside, but has a large patio, complete with sun shades, misters, and a fireplace. Seating is comfortable; both tables/chairs and half-booths are available. The service is absolutely outstanding. Our server, Jason, was professional and friendly, knew the menu inside and out, and gave excellent recommendations. We started with the burrata, which was cool and creamy and served with finely diced tomatoes and toast, and the charcuterie board, which included several meats, cheeses, cornichons, dried apricots, coarse mustard, and fig spread. For entrees we ordered today's special, which was a beef shank with mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables with a pan sauce. It also came with your choice of soup or salad. The beef had a lightly crispy exterior and absolutely melted in your mouth. We also ordered the duck two ways, which came with roasted potatoes and a cold butternut squash puree. The duck was moist and delicious, and the sides were very flavorful. I really can't say enough about the service. The bussers were gracious and the servers were so warm. The prices were reasonable and we will definitely be back!

UPDATE: Wow! I have no idea what has happened since our last visit (see below). First our initial table (with a reservation) was right at the front door. We asked for another table and the hostess accommodated our request. We invited 2 close friends and boy were we embarrassed! Server came up and stated "I work here". We inquired about the 2 meal special and were notified it is now $60 for 2. What we didn't realize that everything that was available under the $65 previous special was no longer available under the $ 60 menu. Previously we were able to choose any appetizer, any dinner, and 1 desert from the menu. Apparently this is no longer the case. Soup of the day was the only choice! French onion soup was a $6 upcharge. Three of us ordered the steak vogue. Honestly, each could not have weighed more than 3 or 4 oz! Last time my steak was so big I took half home. My wife wanted pasta with shrimp...she was told she'd be charged per Shrimp!! Wow! Never heard such a thing...ever. Then came dessert. Again, previously we could order any dessert from the menu...last time we had creme brulle...this time we only got to choose a cake. Seems it depends on your server. People on the table next to us got very different choices. Also larger portions. Needless to say we were extremely disappointed! Embarrassed, because we we telling our friends what a great restaurant it is! We liked Vogue, but with this last experience, not sure we'll return again. ________________________ Awesome Service. Jason was was excellent! Food was terrific. Lasagna was big enough for 2 for 2 meals. Steak Vogue was delicious😋 Comfortable atmosphere. Great martinis!!

They have weekly chef’s specials that are a really great deal. This week, I enjoyed the Chilean Sea Bass entree with a side salad, and the sea bass was juicy and flavorful! I started with some oysters that were served with a wonderful mignonette along with cocktail sauce , horseradish and lemon. I sat at the bar, and service was attentive and friendly. This is my favorite neighborhood restaurant since moving back to Arizona earlier this year. Don’t miss the weekly specials!

The Tran siblings elevate traditional recipes with standout options such as shaken beef and sizzling filet mignon served on a steel plank.
Best Pho I have had in Phoenix so far! Great Vietnamese restaurant, very nice interior, sat in the lounge area at the bar, was quiet and very nice. Veg Egg Rolls were delicious, crispy and fresh, dipping sauce was also good. Pork Pot Stickers were also excellent, crispy and flavorful filling. Pho broth was perfection, fatty and rich. Good amount of things sliced beef and meatballs. Highly recommend!

Omg.... we ended up going to this place by accident, but it was so good that we would be back sooner than later, lol... the service is great and fast. To start, they will bring you this amazing soup 😀 and the food was amazing 👏 🤩

The host was welcoming and ended up waiting our table. He offered great feedback and relayed our order flawlessly by memory - the mark of a professional! The food arrived promptly and was delicious. By far the most flavorful pho broth I've ever experienced, and the salt levels and aromatics were testament to the skill of the chefs. There was a small problem with one of the dishes, but the manager came and TOOK CARE OF US. Put your chips on this restaurant to curate a wonderful date night or culinary experience and you won't be disappointed.

Saigon Kitchen is truly a gem. From the moment you walk in, the warm and inviting atmosphere sets the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The owner personally mingles with guests, which gives the restaurant a genuine, family-oriented feel that you don’t find often. It’s clear they take pride in creating a welcoming environment for everyone. The vibe is perfect—low-tone background music, relaxing lighting, and a beautifully designed layout that works for every type of occasion. The lounge area is ideal for a romantic date night, while the main dining and bar area offers a comfortable setting for family outings or casual evenings with friends. Now the food… absolutely incredible. Every dish bursts with flavor and freshness, and you can tell the kitchen takes real care with their ingredients. The drinks are just as impressive—crafted beautifully and definitely top-tier. Customer service is exceptional from start to finish. The staff is attentive, friendly, and committed to making sure your experience is perfect. Saigon Kitchen has quickly become one of our favorite places to dine. If you’re looking for amazing food, great vibes, and outstanding hospitality, this is the place to go.

I’ve been coming to Saigon Kitchen for years, and their pho has always been my go-to comfort meal… rich, flavorful, and consistently delicious. Recently, I decided to try something new and ordered the mango shrimp rolls… and wow! So fresh, light, and full of flavor, definitely a new favorite. On top of the amazing food, the staff here is truly the nicest. Always welcoming, attentive, and kind. It’s the kind of place that feels like home every time I visit. Highly recommend!

5 stars all around. This is EASILY my favorite restaurant in Surprise. The food, the staff, the ambiance — everything is 5 stars. I truly have enjoyed every single meal that I’ve ever had here. Dennis the owner is awesome and friendly and takes the time to say hello. Very highly recommend Saigon Kitchen! The broth is unreal. Try the Garlic Noodles or Sizzling Platters 🤤

Came for lunch, ordered the brussel sprouts & we split a bong mi sandwich. Sprouts were nice, a little too sweet but good! The sandwich though was just plain bad. The bread was incredibly flat, the chicken tasted like it was straight up boiled, and they buried the fresh veggies in too much sauce. Ultimately, it was a wet mess that just didn't capture any of the delicious notes of a bon mi. For a restaurant aping Asian fusion, they really missed the mark on their Asian food item. Also, the prices are bad. That sandwich was $17!! Crazy.

Everything was so good! Great happy hour menu. We did the butter garlic edamame, wings, and spring rolls for appetizers. Firecracker shrimp and sweet pork fried rice for our entree to split. So so good! The service was great too!

Big Buddha Restaurant in Surprise, Arizona offers a diverse Chinese menu and outdoor dining. The cozy cafe with a patio serves up tasty, made-to-order Chinese classics that cater to all tastes. From homemade pot stickers and juicy skewers of beef to lettuce wraps and the po po platter, there's something for everyone. The restaurant has a splendid atmosphere with great wood art pieces adorning the walls. The food is well thought out and even comes with reheating instructions for enjoying at home.
This is our go-to to-go Chinese restaurant here in the West Valley, hands down. We have been going to this place since 2018 and it has never disappointed! We have yet to sit down for a meal, but they generally have your food ready within 15-20 minutes when placing your food order over the phone. I highly recommend calling them directly over using the online ordering as it features higher price on the website (Third party upcharge). Our favorite meal is the House Fried Rice which features Pork, Beef, Chicken and always at least two jumbo shrimps, you can't go wrong with it. Our kids (and myself too!) love the orange chicken as well which has such a tangy and delicious sauce which I drizzle over white rice! They are generous with their soy sauce and always have a crazy spicy mustard upon request!

Looking to try this restaurant tonight. I ordered water to drink, the egg roll appetizer, and the sweet & sour shrimp. Service was prompt. The egg rolls came (2 to an order for $4.50). They were okay. Not very hot and fresh, but very crunchy. A bit small in size too. I liked the sauce they had brought with the egg rolls. A small bowl of sweet & sour sauce with a good dollop of hot mustard. The two sauces had a nice flavor. The sweet & sour shrimp came. A nice portion of shrimp with small diced pieces of onions, carrots, green peppers, and pineapple. I like the attempt to add more to this dish than another restaurant I had recently visited that didn’t add any vegetables. This dish should be simple. The onions don’t belong in it. If they care to try, my suggestion would be adding nice chunks of tomato, larger pieces of green peppers - maybe use red, yellow, or orange peppers, and larger chunks of pineapple. The one thing I can’t understand with many Chinese restaurants in Phoenix is the fascination with this neon red sweet (no sour) sauce. I miss the great restaurants from back home, and in Chicago’s Chinatown. The entree was $16.50. My check after tax came to $23.00. I’ll return to try other items on their menu. The restaurant is warm, and inviting. Seating to accommodate all size parties; and a patio area too. Before leaving I used the men’s room that is very clean. Parking is no issue being located on the east side of a mall. If you’re looking for Chinese food, do consider Big Buddha and give them a try.

Staff was very friendly and helpful 5/5 there. Food was good. I had the Orange Peel Chicken, Taiwanese Beef, and the Szechuan Fried Rice. Everything I had was good. I enjoyed the Orange Chicken the most. Coming from LA, I found the prices very affordable. This is a good spot with a friendly vibe.

This restaurant was better than I expected it to be! The food is pretty americanised but it is tasty. We came here on a Wed afternoon and it was packed! There is lots of parking in the area. They also have patio seating but I'm glad we sat inside because it was super hot outside during the afternoon. They have lunch specials which are total worth the price. We got the chicken egg foo young with egg drop soup lunch special and the schezwan string bean with pork and hot and sour soup lunch special. Every lunch special comes with fried rice, an egg roll and a crab puff. The egg rolls were very good. The crab puff was ok, we would have liked more crab stuffing. The soups were excellent. You won't go wrong with either choice. The fried rice was average. I have had better fried rice in other Chinese restaurants. The entrees themselves were very good. The chicken egg foo young is a Chinese omelet presented as a cutlet of chicken and egg, bean sprouts, slightly breaded and smothered in brown gravy sauce. The portion was big and I couldn't even finish one of the cutlets, so we took most of my entree home. The schezwan string bean and pork entree was delicious. Husband finished every last bit of it. For the price of around $12 per special, we were satisfied and delighted by the meal. The ambiance is pretty casual but the restaurant is nice. We definitely recommend checking them out if you are in the area.

My wife and I popped into Big Buddha for a Sunday lunch and left seriously impressed — this place delivers! The lunch specials are a total win: big portions, great value, and food that actually tastes freshly made (not just reheated takeout vibes 👏). We started with their sweet-and-sour soup, which was the perfect warm-up — tangy, a little spicy, and so comforting that I kind of wished it came in a bigger bowl. For mains, I went with the Mongolian Beef, and wow — tender beef, a rich sweet-savory sauce, and a bed of crispy noodles that added the perfect crunch. My wife ordered the Shrimp with Vegetables, and her plate was loaded with plump shrimp and colorful veggies swimming in a garlicky brown sauce that was seriously delicious. Each lunch combo came with rice and an egg roll — simple, classic, and just right. The service was quick and friendly, and the whole vibe was relaxed — a great little spot for an easy, satisfying meal. Pro tip: Go for the lunch specials — you’ll get a full spread without breaking the bank, and trust me, you won’t leave hungry!

I’ve been coming to Big Buddha for years, and they never disappoint. Started with the crab puffs, crispy and full of flavor. My go to orange chicken was perfect as always, and the Singapore rice noodles were spot on. The food is always fresh, and the service here is consistently great. Easily one of my favorite spots in Surprise!
